I look up and hear the buzzing of the crowd. Equinox is on the top rope. He is looking to finish me off. He goes airborne and attempts his patented Dark Kingdom Swanton Bomb. My experience and adrenaline kicked in. I immediately raised my knee up and it worked. Equinox landed on my knee back first and he quickly dropped on the mat. He rolled around the mat favoring his back as I jumped up to my feet. I smirked getting a sense of amusement seeing him suffering in such agony. I can smell victory. There is blood on the water…

It’s time to go for the kill.

He tried to stand. He barely made it to his feet. I spun him around. I set him up before dropping him back down with the End Game. I covered him. The referee dropped down to the mat. I can hear the crowd, my fellow Angelenians, counting as the referee’s hand hit the mat…

ONE!

TWO!!

THREE!!

The bell sounded followed by my entrance music blaring through the arena’s speakers.  I got up to my feet. I heard UWL ring announcer Keith Williams say the words I have been hearing in my head since I started training for this match…

Keith Williams: Here is your winner... and NEW UWL Junior Heavyweight Champion.... RYYYYAAAANNNN KIIIIIDDDDDD!!!

I stood up. The referee handed me the UWL Jr. Heavyweight title. I looked at it and admired it before raising it up. The crowd is quite mixed which disappointed me. This is Los Angeles. This is where I am from. This people are my subjects. I am a hometown kid who made it. I brought them glory that only the Los Angeles Kings could and both the Clipper and the Lakers couldn’t. I am the new king of Los Angeles and THE best Junior Heavyweight in the United Wrestling League. They should be bowing down. They WILL bow down.

SCW Climax Control
Sound Nightclub, Los Angeles, California
August 10th, 2014

The next day…

I arrived backstage at the Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles, California. I’ve never understood why someone would come to this kind of place. The smell of sex, alcohol stench, and puke lingers the air as I walked into the communal locker room area. I looked around and saw some familiar faces and some unfamiliar faces as well. They all looked at me in a weird way. I’m used to it. I’m a returning guy who is looking to steal their spot on the card. And they know I would. I’ve done it everywhere I went and I am doing it all over again here in SCW.

I said hi to those who were here when I first was here. We talked for a little bit as I looked around the room in the corner of my eye and I can see that some people, despite trying their best to pretend that they are not paying attention to me, are still eyeing me in the corner of their eyes. I smirked and thanked those couple of people who welcomed me back. I couldn’t be here any longer. I can feel the animosity emanating from them. As much as it amused me, I don’t want to be causing anything on my first day back. They’ll have their chance and I will have mine. For now, I will be a little bit civil.

I went out of the room and walked around. Found some staff who were with the company during my first run. Talked and catch up with them before going on. I ran into Liz Smalls. I’ve never met her in person but I’ve been following her career and I’ve interacted with her on twitter a dozen times before. She introduced me to the rest of the Mean Girls. Granted, I’m not a fan of their lingo but I can tell that these girls has what it takes to be at the top of this sport.

They said farewell as they needed to prepare for their match. I nodded and thanked them for welcoming me warmly unlike those others inside the communal locker room. They all went their way as I went on to mine. I could hear some noise outside the curtain as I heard the program director that they are letting the crowd into the venue. I walked up to Gorrilla position and hang out. I watched as the graphics guys prepared all the necessary graphics for the broadcast. I then heard someone on the PA say that we are just fifteen minutes away from the broadcast. I then take another look backstage before making my way out to go to my seat in the venue for the night.

Last weekend was an interesting one…

Not only did I crown myself as the new UWL Junior Heavyweight Champion and showing the world why I am the top junior heavyweight in the world and why I am the top best wrestler out there right now, I also found myself making my way back to my old stomping ground… Sin City Wrestling. If you have seen last weekend’s Climax Control, you’ve heard why I came back to Sin City Wrestling. But in case you didn’t and in case I need to reiterate it to you…

Sin City is breeding ground for everything that we, The Young Moderns are against. If you have walked around the Sunset strip, you would have seen the histrionic, narcissistic individuals that plague that city. Like a cockroach-infested kitchen, Sin City is infested with vermin that are eating the city out from inside and out. People who are power-hungry, selfish, greedy and are willing to go to the lowest form just to get what they want and gambling away their pathetic lives for fortune and fame.

Sin City Wrestling has not been far from its namesake. Yes, it rarely hold events in the city it was conceived from but it does not mean that it is not representing everything that is rotten and spoiled from that city. The fame-hungry individual lurking the ring and the halls of SCW is no different from the useless peasants that lingers around the Sunset Strip. They are willing to go to the lowest of low just to gain fortune and fame and gain some acceptance from these barbaric pro wrestling fans.

And my opponent this week exemplify it…Gabriel Asar.

Gabriel… I don’t know you personally. I don’t know what you’ve done in your career. In fact I don’t really know you beside what I see of you on Twitter. They said that you should not judge a book by its cover but with you, there is no actual book, Gabriel. You are just a cover. You are nothing but a façade, a fake that only craves nothing but validation and attention. Whether be it from the stupid fans who some of the people on the roster kill themselves for or from your fellow wrestlers.

Either way, Gabriel. I will give you what you want. You want attention? You got it with me. Only the difference is, you are going to regret getting my attention, Gabriel. You want to be a smartass on Twitter? Have at it. I have encountered a handful of smartasses in my career and it did not bode them well inside the ring. They tried to get under my skin and succeeded and in return, I dropped them on their head and gave them the biggest beating of their lives.

And at Climax Control, you will suffer the same fate, Gabriel. You will find out first hand why Ryan Kidd is a force to be reckoned with in pro wrestling and why The Young Moderns is inarguably the most powerful group of wrestlers in the sport today. And in the end, nothing… Not even you smartass-ness will be able to save you from what you are getting this Sunday. So go ahead and enjoy it, Gabriel. This Sunday, I will end it all. I will end your miserable existence and I will end your hapless career.

Sunday Night…

At Climax Control…

It’s End Game.

I’ll see you there.
