“Can’t We All Just Get Along?”
« on: December 03, 2024, 10:04:37 PM »
While Cassie ultimately came in third in the High Stakes Rumble (being eliminated by eventual runner up Alexandra Callaway) the match was not without controversy, at least as far as Young Justice was concerned, why? Because during the course of the match Cassie eliminated Harper! According to Harper they did talk after the fact and while things were cool between them but there was still tension there and they agreed that the only way it could be resolved was to have a tag team match at the next Climax Control.

The question was, who were going to serve as their opponents? Well, that question got answered in a hurry as well, Crystal Zdunich jumped at the chance but rather than bring along her wife Seleana (as most people were expecting, Harper included) Crystal recruited Go Gym Graduate and London Underground member Mackenzie Paige as her partner! While it was rumoured that Crystal had some kind of blackmail on Mackenzie, you couldn’t deny that it was a formidable duo! Can Young Justice get the win?

We both knew the stakes going into that match.

Maybe it was naivete on Harp’s part to think that we’d work together until the end of the rumble and then just go at it, but what’s done is done! I eliminated Harper from the Rumble the moment she was distracted.

Well, as distracted as one can be after I just spiked the new kid on the block with a Poisonarana as she was trying to eliminate Harpe, Harp was already over the ropes at that point and it a simple matter of shoving her off the apron.

As for me? I lasted a bit longer, until the final three before Alexandra eliminated me, Harp at least won her rubber match against Bobbie later in the night so I guess things even out?

Either way, we need to talk about this and Josh made that clear as day as soon as we got back to the hotel, we’re not set to check out for another couple of hours at least so we’ve got a bit of time to relax and iron things out.

”Okay, how am I going to justify what I did last night?” I wondered to myself as I sat in front of my laptop, you want to know how tense things have been? Josh made a point to take us down for breakfast an hour apart from each other because he didn’t want to risk me and Harp having a blow up before we flew back to Nevada, plus I know Jessie was in town for the show so I’m sure she had some words for Harper to ensure she didn’t say anything potentially friendship ending. ”Didn’t Krystal tell me that friendships never last in wrestling? Maybe she had a point.”

There was a knock at the door and I got up and answered, off course, it was Harper, her hair was in a bun and she had an army jacket on as a nod to her dad’s military service but it was her and Josh was right behind her. ”Morning Cass, guess we’d better have that talk huh?” Harper asked after greeting me and I nodded without hesitation. ”Can I come in?”

”Yeah, sure, come in.” I responded before stepping aside and letting them both it. ”You’re a lot less angry than I thought you’d be Harp.”

”Having a good night’s sleep will do that, well, that and the fact that I ended the night with a win over Bobbie.” Harper responded before I closed the door behind us and sat back down at my computer. ”So, are you going to address the elephant in the room or should I?”

”Also known as the fact that I eliminated you.” I responded with a sigh as I glanced over at Josh. ”We went over this this with Josh before the match, friends or not, it’s every woman for themselves in a match like that! And you at least had a better elimination than Dawn Warren!”

”Dawn eliminated herself to get out of the way of my Stinger Splash, you realize how incredibly fucking low that bar is, right?!” Harper countered as she shook her head and I had to admit that she was right. ”And Jessie said that it was still better than the time she eliminated herself from a World Bombshell Title qualifier because of Maki of all people!”

”Oh god, I remember her, think the most notable thing she did in the last months of the company was serve as Krystal’s first Roulette Title Defence.” I responded as I shook my head. ”And second since she was in the Ultimate X Match with Bea, anyway, what do you want to talk about regarding the elimination Harp?”

”I just want to know if we’re cool, that’s all.” Harper responded as she folded her arms and I nodded as I got the idea. ”I mean, I got my own back by preventing Aleesha’s elimination and karma did catch up to you when Allesha and Mikhaila double teamed out.”

”Which was officially the least amount of fun I’ve had while on the ground being double teamed by two women but I digress!” I joked and Harper just shook her head with a chuckle. ”Look, as far as I’m concerned? We were still going to be friends no matter what, but we need to resolve this tension before it leaks into our next matches.”

”Especially with the end of the year so close, and you know Christian and Mark will be looking for Bella’s first challenger now that she’s won the Internet Title from Juliana.” Harper nodded in agreement before sighing. ”I just sounded so much like Jessie when she was younger that it’s ridiculous, all that’s missing is the reactivation of the Bombshell Tag Titles and we’d be like the Metal and Punk Connection.”

”Yeah, but we’re our own kickass tag team, not some carbon copy of Amy and Jessie………….” I trailed off as inspiration hit me. ”That’s it! A tag team match!”

”To resolve our issues?” Harper asked and I quickly nodded. ”Against who? The Go Sisters stopped being a thing long before Krystal turned her back on Team Go, London Underground seem to be in limbo, I’d rather not wrestle the Zdunichs again so soon and that’s just the teams I can name off the top of my head.”

”We’ll do it as an open challenge for the next Climax Control, there’s bound to be someone out there itching for a fight on one of the last shows of the year!” I pointed out and Harper considered it before getting her phone out. ”And we’d have to run it by the bosses of course but they’d be looking for matches to fill out the show anyway.”

”True enough, and I just tagged you in the tweet.” Harper responded after hitting send and once I checked my notifications I nodded. ”But before we start getting changed.” Harper added before walking over to me and extending a handshake offer. ”Friends?”

”Like there was any ever doubt.” I responded with a grin before accepting the handshake.

“And here I thought I’d be more active in my role as peacekeeper.” Josh chuckled as he stepped forward. “As soon ass we get some confirmed opponents I’ll start arranging the match with Mark and Christian, I know you girls teamed up a few times in EWC but I doubt anyone in SCW will know that, use that to your advantage.” Josh added and we nodded before the topic drifted towards the events of the night.

Over the next few days we’d get our opponents, Crystal Zdunich and Mackenzie Paige weren’t exactly the first names that I expected but we took it though Daniel Morgan was going to be in their corner as a counter to Josh.

Why? Who knows? It’s not like Josh had made a point of not interfering with me or Harper’s matches.

Oh wait, he has.

The Christmas Holidays may be around the corner but we still have matches to train for.

Or one match in this case but we have been hard at work preparing for the match, it was my first tag team match in SCW while it was Harper’s second (and I checked with her, that Handicap Match doesn’t count) but as Josh said? We’ve teamed elsewhere and while our record is spotty, the fact that we’re a team with experience under our belts says it all really.

Before long Mackenzie will wish she had Charlotte as a partner instead.

”Good to know you still have it Harp.” I commented in between sparring matches and Harper grinned. ”After three matches  with a woman who outweighs me by over a hundred pounds that is.”

”All in the technique Cass, besides getting her onto my shoulders for the Encore Set is good weight lifting practice.” Harper joked as she wiped some sweat from her brow. ”And at least I won’t be wrestling in baby gear unlike Bobbie on Sunday.”

”I hear that! Now, let’s get back to sparring.” I responded before we did just that, after twenty minutes of sparring though I heard the emergency exit door open and saw a smoking hot red head standing by it. ”Hey Josh? Were you expecting other guests?”

“No, and I don’t recognize her.” Josh responded with a frown but the girl, who didn’t look much older than me or Harp (if anything she was younger than us by at least a year), remained in her spot, as Josh moved towards the exit though she left, not even bothering to close the exit door behind her. “She had an athletic build you girls recognize her from Hero Academy?”

”If we were bringing anyone over from Hero Academy they would’ve arrived with us, not come in through the emergency exit, watch us and leave.” I pointed out as I shook my head and Josh nodded as he realised I had a point. ”It’s not like Hero Academy is the only gym in the area, Harp, didn’t you say the Go Gym was prepping someone for graduation?”

”That’s what I heard from Hayley and Kelly, a guy from Australia and a girl from LA are about to graduate.” Harper responded with a shrug. ”They never gave any description though, no name either, guess they figured I wasn’t interested since I don’t go to the Go Gym that often.”

”If she was scouting maybe we should keep an eye out.” I responded before I turned to Josh. ”Just as idea but maybe go see if she’s still in the parking lot?”

“Good idea, sit tight.” Josh nodded in agreement before he left for the parking lot, when he returned a few minutes later he shook his head. “I saw a young woman on a motorcycle leaving the parking lot just as I exited the gym but with the helmet on I couldn’t tell if it was her, and sadly that was the closest to a confirmed sighting I got.”

”And that could’ve been anyone.” I responded with a nod before letting oyr a deep breath. ”Maybe we should keep an eye out for her in the coming days, but we have a tag match to prep for.”

“Agreed.” Josh nodded before we resumed training, the redhead didn’t return for the rest of the day and Harper just assumed that she had gotten lost or something along those lines but for now? We put it out of our minds.

*promo time*

For the first time in SCW we conducted a promo from the newsroom and we felt good about it honestly.

”Hello and welcome to the first Young Justice News Bulletin of Young Justice’s SCW Career.” I introduced the segment as I shuffled my papers. ”I’m Cassie Wolfe.”

”And I’m Harper Mason, our top story today.” Harper added before she cleared her throat. ”How much is Crystal Zdunich paying the members of London Underground to hang out with her, let alone send Mackenzie Paige out to team up with her against us at the next Climax Control?”

”No, seriously, I had a long list of names we thought she’d rope in before she reached any former champion, never mind a member of one of the most dominant tag teams in Bombshell Division History.” I added with a bewildered look on my face.  ”Off course, that was years ago and while they returned a couple of years back? Are they still the same wrestlers that once dominated the division?”

”And don’t even get me started on Crystal, one of the greatest Bombshells of all time yet I handled her during my last Climax Control match.” Harper added as she looked at her nails playfully. ”And that was her teaming with her wife, what does that tell you?”

”Nothing good, I’ll say that much.” I responded before we assumed our back to back pose in the chairs. ”We put this challenge out there so we could iron out our differences stemming from the High Stakes Rumble, unfortunately for Mackenzie and Crystal? “The Rebel Princess” Cassie Wolfe…………”

”And the “Slaytanic Avenger” Harper Mason are young, hungry and ready to bring the fight.” Harper added as we made the finger gun point to the camera simultaneously. ”Because the world needs new heroes and you two are looking right at them!”

”And believe us when I say that we’ve been ready for this since you accepted our challenge Chrystal! To all my fans? In a world of fake queens and London Underground’s random return? Be yourselves and be Rebel Princesses or Slaytanic Avengers.” We made the gun going off motion with our hands. ”Because justice will be served!”

The camera turned off as the scene fades.
