Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brothers keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the LORD, when I lay my vengeance upon thee

Enlightenment Lesson 7: Seeking Attention

Narrator: Attention, it's ironic, that is a word that Tony Thorn didn't want around him. He wanted people to listen to him from afar, take his words at a distance, I guess you could say social distancing was being practiced by the young man, long before it was enforced all over the world. He never wanted his presence to distract from the words he was speaking. He knew he had been garnering attention since he returned, since he chose Teddy Warren as his target. People have been speaking about him more, they've paid good attention to what has been happening. From the second he walked to that ring and sat down to speak to people with a microphone for the first time ever, just a few weeks ago, people had been blown away. It wasn't what he was looking for, it wasn't what he was seeking, but that was the reason Teddy Warren had been targeted, he looked for it, found it, then threw it away. That's is what put a bulls eye on his back. Let us go back when Tony returned to the SCW roster and had to join the rest of the roster at the hotel.

April 23rd

Tony sits in The Saxon Hotel, looking through the window at the world. His eyes moving around the near deserted streets of Las Vegas.

Narrator: He didn't have a problem with not being in the outside world, he'd had years of sitting alone, being alone and actually found it peaceful to do so. Not many people he knew were on the same wavelength he was on. Many decided he was part of the not cool side of the spectrum because he knew things they could never comprehend, so he was perfectly fine being able to spend time on his own.

Victoria: I'm gonna go fucking mad if I end up stuck in this hotel room for months.

Narrator: Tony's mother, Victoria on the other hand, was not at peace with the thought of being stuck in the hotel room for an extended period of time.

Tony turns around to look at his mother sitting on a nearby chair, her hands wringing together with power. Tony looks through the thick rims of his glasses towards her.

Tony: You don't have to stay in the room mother. Although the outside world may have had to pause activities, the information I got from Misters Ward and Underwood seemed to indicate to me that the hotel is what one could describe, as being in a bubble. It's protected at every viable opportunity, including testing those who leave, much more often than people who abide by the rules. Another way to protect your own safety is to not be around said people who feel this virus is a hoax, or ones who choose to simple leave.

Tony points to the door with his right hand.

Tony: You are free to leave at any time, but for the sake of safety mother, I would recommend you find some hand sanitizer, do not touch anything you do not have to and keep a safe distance.

Victoria springs to her feet and looks at the door.

Narrator: She knew Tony had been looking at the virus, the numbers, everything possible since the outbreak started. He knew it would be hard to cure, but couldn't help but look in to it to see if there was something useful in his mind to help slow the spread. She trusted his word if she stuck to the safety measures.

Victoria: And how will you be spending your afternoon?

Tony ran his fingers over his smooth chin, his forefinger just resting under his lip.

Tony: I don't know mother.

Victoria: You should get out of the room for a bit, go and show your face around, see the people you worked with before. We got here late and saw no one from the roster. People would have missed you.

Tony: Hardly. There wasn't people I liked on the roster anyway and the two I felt any sort of human connection with, one disappeared and the other turned out to be a vile human being. I don't believe there's one person around that would even notice my presence.

Narrator: Victoria wanted to be out of the door, but refused to leave her son on his own in a room with little to occupy his time.

Tony: Please, go and explore and stay safe. Maybe I will take a book and sit in the gardens soon. Today is fairly warm for the time of year compared to Ohio.

Victoria: It's fucking boiling here compared to Ohio.

Tony lays his hand out pointing towards the door with his open palm.

Tony: Please, I will be perfectly fine.

Victoria looks at Tony hesitantly, but the smile on her son's face shows his sincerity.

Victoria: Ok, but if you need me, I'm just a phone call away.

Tony: I shall be fine, but please mother, try not to hurt anyone today. It would be an absolute disaster for Sin City Wrestling to have me return, only to have to send us home.

Victoria: I can't promise anything.

Victoria smiles at her son and Tony gives her a slight nod.

Narrator: Personally, I wouldn't know if that smile would indicate a whimsical response or if she was serious. She wasn't known for having the longest fuse when it came to keeping her temper in check.

Victoria moves towards the door, leaving Tony to continue looking through the window towards the city streets below.

Narrator: He'd read up on the hotel, looking at the information given to him by the bosses, the protocol was burned in to his mind on the flight from Lima to Las Vegas. He'd read and reread every single word and knew things cover to cover, including the amenities in the hotel. The SCW, SCU and GRIME staff were doing all they could to keep everyone safe, and although there was rule breakers leaving at will to work elsewhere, regardless of SCW's offer to compensate them for lost bookings, Tony knew the rules were important to follow. He knew the deaths worldwide had meaning, and showed the stupidity of people, so he made sure he would know the details of every rule in the book. Nowhere in the hotel really appealed to him, but one stood out slightly above the rest.

Tony: The garden.

Narrator: Tony stayed in the room for a little longer before finally giving in to the heat and deciding to head out.

Tony left the hotel room, a book in hand and shut the door firmly behind him, looking to his left to see members of the SCW crew walking down the hallway, Tony recognizing a technician but the man walks past Tony, not even glancing in his direction. Tony walks down the hall in the direction the man comes from and through a door, and walks down the stairs, passing more staff, yet they too don't take any notice of him, not even looking in his direction, till he makes his way to the ground floor and in to the lobby. Tony looks around at the twenty or so people in the lobby, this time seeing wrestlers.

Narrator: He had worked with these people, yet these people didn't take much notice of Tony, the occasional glance in his direction, yet no one walked to greet the young man, or even welcome him back to the company. They looked completely through him but it didn't bother him in the slightest.

Tony quickly took a sharp turn to the right, quickly walking down a narrow corridor, people passing him, yet still not looking him in the eye. Tony quickly makes his way to the end of the hallway and through a door at the end, leading to a beautiful garden area. In season flowers bloomed around him,

Narrator: The smell in the air was nothing short of the most floral scent he'd ever smelt in his life. Everything came together nicely and didn't clash in the slightest.

Tony looks around, spying many SCW stars walking their pet dogs around the garden, watching other dog owners giving the other dogs attention.

Tony: Surely I can not be the only one feeling that these large amount of animals in such an expensive and highly rated hotel is a problem for hygiene not only in the present, but in the future. It could seriously damage a hotels reputation now is common knowledge that rooms have been inhabited by animals.

Tony moves towards a free bench just toward his right and moves towards it, taking a seat on his own and glancing to his right, just spying another former colleague, but the colleague turns his head away from Tony as soon as the young man sits down.

Narrator: This didn't bother Tony at all, he didn't want to seek people's attention.

Tony lifts the book up in front of him and flicking to the page he was up to, but his eyes lifted over the page as Pussy Willow walked past him, looking directly at him but continuing to walk past, barely acknowledging his existence. Tony smiled.

Tony: Well, that's something. A reporter who didn't know who she was looking at.

Tony looks back down towards his book, but the noise of a talking crowd again catching his attention once more, a group of SCW wrestlers standing in a group with their dogs around their ankle, each cooing about the others.

Tony: Looking for the attention so much, these people will use animals to get it. They demand it, they want it and willing to use animals to get it. These people are wrestlers, the more attention they get, the better they feel, the better they think their career can go, but my record has been stellar, as one would say under the radar and should I have a successful return, I should be looking at stepping up the ladder without having to pander to the need for attention.

Tony sat back slightly, observing the crowd as they smiled brightly at each other, sharing jokes and stories.

Tony: It's like they demand attention from each other constantly, yet these people would hold back careers for the sake of their own in a heartbeat. These people would stab each other in the back without a second thought for attention.

Narrator: Tony watched for a while longer, each SCW animal owner talking over each other to get their point across, trying their hardest to be center of attention. It wasn't just the wrestlers, the animals too tried to grab the others attention.

Tony: I guess they're just like their owners.

Tony looks back towards his book, grown bored of the people trying to grab attention from each other, only to hear a voice call out. Tony lifts his head to see someone calling out to the group, quickly breezing past him and joining the group, couldn't help but bring a smile to his face.

Tony: These people are just where they want to be. They know how to get the attention of their peers. I presume it works for these people. Interesting that they would put themselves out there to get know. Such is the life of a modern wrestler.

Narrator: Tony didn't see himself as a modern wrestler per se. He believed that what happened in the ring was far more important than what happened outside the ring. He believed if you mixed fan interaction in to solid wrestling skills, you wouldn't have to have the popularity amongst your peers.

Tony: These people seemed to want to see their peers lap unwarranted attention on them and using animals to do so. Very interesting as I pick someone to help. So many prime candidates.

Narrator: Tony's return was a lot to do with picking someone to help, picking someone who had some off the rails. He had thought long and hard who to target, who to make their better self. If attention was what SCW wrestlers wanted, if that's what they craved from everyone, it was clear in his mind that he had find someone who had it, but lost it. If this was the most important thing to Tony's peers, it wasn't too difficult to set his mind to a more focused level of thinking, to narrow down the suspects.

A slight smile moved over Tony's face as he looked at the group.

Narrator: He knew if it was attention people wanted, then so be it. All he needed to do was find someone who had it, that and slipped to the side of the road, that had no longer wanted what the desired. There was a long list of people this could apply to and Tony knew it. With the influx of new talent grabbing the attention, some of the older guard was drifting to the side a little, not getting their attention they once got. He could have a potential of thirty names. People who started bright in the like of Tallyn, who had faded away. Maybe Jessie Salco or Caleb Storms, two people who have never really had the spotlight on them, other than Jessie's attempts to hijack other people's work. Maybe Alex Jones, the now forgotten member of Wolfslair, Kedron Williams, who had done little recently, only to return to win a contenders match. Christina Rose could use his help to get her now faded career back on track. Maybe Dani Weston, or London Underground. They once had eyes on them, yet now, not at all.

The thoughts seeped through Tony's head as he stood up.

Narrator: The Good Shepherds, a group of people who seem leaderless in Sin City Wrestling. Samantha Marlowe maybe, a respected champion who had gone off the rails. Maybe even someone like Lachlan Kane, who's career has declined more than any other superstar that had stepped foot in an SCW ring. Tony didn't HAVE to use physical violence, especially against the women who he could help, he deplored that, but he did have a choice to make on who would be the one special person, the one person he could sit and help and show them the attention they craved, regardless of how unnecessary it was. He couldn't do that with just random guess work, with just picking a person out of the crowd of people. He needed to see a wider range of candidates, he needed to be at a show, so he could see everyone who bothered to show up, in one place. He did just that just days later.

Narrator: Up close and personal, it's the best way to learn about people, or in this case, to pick a potential target. Tony had more than a few in mind to help out in his own unique way, but he wanted just the one, only the one person to focus his attention on. He could have picked from most of the roster but his eyes were looking for that one person to jump out at him. He needed one person that really needed the help.

Perched on a silver production box, about six feet off the ground, Tony sat cross legged as he watched people breeze past.

Narrator: No one had taken much notice of Tony since he returned, without even avoiding his peers. He had been around them at some point or another, not standing out in the crowd, just carrying on with his own business and none decided to take the time to welcome him back, or ask him where he'd been. No one had even spoke to him when he got on the bus to head towards The Staggs Dungeon. He had gotten on the bus last and sat at the front, everyone before him too busy to even notice his presence, and was the first off the bus, while people were busy organizing themselves to exit the bus. He wasn't scheduled to wrestle, he was there with the freedoms of everyone else. Sit backstage and observe unless he was needed, yet no one approached him.

Tony watched as potential for his help has casually strolled past, barely looking him.

Narrator: Maybe it was the casual pants and back hoodie that made him blend in to the crowd. No one was even slightly curious on who the man was sitting watching them. He wasn't invisible, he was there in plain sight but no one took much notice of the man alone.

Tony's eyes darted towards the curtain as Dani Weston walked through the curtain defeated by Violet Amelia Holt.

Tony: My, my, that is a surprising result. Ms. Weston star seems to have faded slightly, especially after that defeat. Maybe she is the one that could use my help. It wouldn't take too much to explain to her how I can dispel this match from her memory as well as other people's memories in just a few short matches and shine a much brighter light on her.

Tony taps his chin, considering his options but he watches as the members of London Underground move towards her to console her.

Tony: Maybe she doesn't need as much help as I first thought. She has a support system that seems to be in place. Still, she may be one to keep an eye on.

Narrator: Tony refused to rule anyone out when it came to deciding who would be his pet project. Everyone in this world could improve in his eyes and he could do it.

Tony watched the curtain move once more as the victorious Violet Amelia Holt stepped through the curtain.

Narrator: When Tony learned of his return to Sin City Wrestling, he had taken the time to brush up on the current roster. It was almost as if he knew them before he had stepped back through the doors of the wonderful world of wrestling.

He watched as she jumped in to the arms of Dustin Holt, her father and former wrestler.

Tony: Now she would be an interesting project. Someone sheltered in this business by a father who has no business being in it anymore. He has a much higher opinion of himself than he should have. He seems like that kind of gentlemen who you would tell your achievements to and he would have already accomplished them and told you about ten more. Ms. Holt would be most interesting to show the world her true form, a form without asking for fathers permission first. He seems the type to suffer from pushy parent syndrome, living his life through his daughter. I would wager he feels prouder than she does for her surprise victory.

Tony turns his head just a little to look at her, weighing up his options.

Tony: He seems like the kind of father who would not allow anyone near her to even try and improve her. Maybe I should have made my move earlier on someone else.

Narrator: Tony had considered making his move on Griffin Hawkins. He knew as soon as an announcement was made about Griffin wanting to talk to a crowd, he had ruled out retirement and accurately knew it would be about a championship. He had learned very easily that Griffin Hawkins was very much about image and used social media to his advantage to enhance it. He also knew that part of Griffin's image was being a champion.

Tony: I knew he'd be looking at the championship belt he failed to win weeks before. Maybe I should have helped him try to attain that goal by first bringing him back down to earth, take away those social media accounts he must spend at least twelve hours a day on and get him focused.

Tony shook his head, dismissing the idea.

Tony: No, he wouldn't have listened to my words or actions anyway. He is stuck in a era he feels is what will make him seem retro and cool, yet by my research, the eighties was not a golden era in the world's history. Anyone who is stuck there were slightly beyond help.

Tony watches the screen light up announcing the supercard Roulette championship match, Jack Russow defending against Kedron Williams.

Tony: Jack Russow, now there's a case of instability if ever I saw one. Although, I have researched those people who he deems worthy of friendship. I feel the timing is not right with him, his friends sill sufficiently break him down in to a shell of a man, like acid. But Kedron Williams on the other hand.

Narrator: Tony thought about the whole magic thing behind Kedron Williams, he had seen he was no longer a person of the occult, he was human, he was feeling human emotions, but just like Tony, he was a misfit in a world that society dominate.

Tony: If I could take him and teach him how to use those human emotions, mentor him, I could almost be certain that he will defeat Jack Russow and become a champion here with little or no problem. He shares an experience I have. He has been gone for a long time and yet no one has questioned his whereabouts. He could sympathize and there would be no need to break him at all. He has already been broken, he would just need to be placed back together in the correct way to be effective.

A noise distracted Tony as his head sharply jolted to his right, where he saw The Steele, or Warren family, depending on how they chose to be addressed this week.

Narrator: Tony watched Kate, Teddy and their young daughter, looking at the guitar strapped to Kate. Tony had presumed there was a performance of some sort about to happen after the short break. Tony observed as Teddy gave instructions to his young daughter, but he could feel an energy, he could feel a power coming from the group.

Tony: Well, well, well, one of you three are crying out for help right now. I can feel it. Which could it be.

Narrator: Tony thought back to the first time he had encountered Teddy Warren in the ring. It was through Teddy's dress wearing stage.

Tony: Well, Mr. Warren. I believe it's you that have my interested, which would make absolute sense. The changes you've made to yourself, craving the fans attention, to dismissing them to get that wrestling term heat, whatever it has taken to get people watching you but you now. You're a man with no identity. I have watched lately and this new you is poor. Trying to prove to the fans that you're a good guy is sickening.

Narrator: Tony knew the words he spoke to himself in a hushed tone has indicated to him that indeed, his target was found. He knew that was the person who required his help, it didn't matter to him if he needed it or not. That was the life he needed to improve.

Tony continues to watch Teddy as they prepare for their performance, looking at his body language.

Narrator: There seemed to be an uncomfortable air coming from him in Tony's mind, something that screamed out that he wasn't doing this for any relevance, but to be part of the show to hope someone will remember the performance afterwards. Sadly they didn't.

Tony: The last incarnation of Mr. Warren's was somewhat interesting, but this is uncomfortable to watch.

Tony watches as a stagehand walks past him and quickly calls out to him.

Tony: Excuse me sir, may I have a moment of your time?

The stagehand jumps, startled by hearing a voice whilst not paying attention to his surrounding completely.

Stagehand: Who are you? You know you shouldn't be back here, right?

Tony: Actually good sir, I'm a contracted SCW wrestler so I am well within my rights to be here at this moment in time. I have a question for you. The Warren's, what are they planning on doing tonight? I do not see them as part of the show going forward.

The stagehand quickly looks down at his clipboard, lifting a few pages.

Stagehand: It seems that he's going to be singing with his wife and daughter and talking. No doubt about J2H again. The guy comes down here most weeks talking about it and J2H won't give him the time of day.

Tony: Classic signs of an attention seeker good sir. Mention the name of someone with more acclaim, to force people in to wondering if the more acclaimed will appear. Thank you for your time.

The stagehand nods his head and walks away from Tony.

Narrator: A plan was forming in Tony's mind. He wondered if he should just approach him and tell him he needed help, tell him that he could be better, in front of his family. Maybe this was not a time for words, but more for action. Tony needed Teddy to sit in a world of wonderment for a while before he explained his reasons, but regardless, his target was confirmed once more in his mind.

Tony slides off the silver chest, his feet touching the floor in time for his mother to move towards him.

Victoria: What was that about? Do they want you to do something? It's a fucking waste having all your talent sitting backstage doing nothing.

Tony looks at Victoria with a thoughtful look on his face and shakes his head.

Tony: Not exactly mother, but I feel it's time I did something myself. I have watched people walk past me all night, not taking too much notice of me and I have acquired the knowledge that this family are about to perform a song.

Victoria: Those fucks couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Whoever gave them a record deal, they clearly have blackmail material cause they're fucking shit.

Narrator: Victoria had never been a fan of them, musically or any other wise, constantly questioning with Tony on the mental state of Kate Steele, and simply wondering how Teddy manages to put on his pants in the morning.

Tony: I do not disagree. They're musical sync, timing and tone do not fit well together. One can only presume they invest money in themselves to boost sale figures, but to look at them from a wrestling stand point.

Victoria: Wrestling standpoint? She's bad shit crazy to the point they should have a special bus for her to get to shows, and he's a fucking tranny. Probably share the same underwear.

Tony smiled at his mother as he nods in agreement.

Tony: If that is not a cry for help, I don't know what is.

Victoria raises an eyebrow at her son, surprised by his words.

Victoria: Out of all the people who need help in SCW, you're choosing to help The Addams Family?

Tony: Not the family, just him. He's a classic attention seeker, to the point he would use his own daughter just to have people remember him after a night's sleep. He had all the attention he could ever need not too long ago, yet it wasn't enough and thought having people delight over him being a family man would get him even more. He doesn't stand out when he wants to. Griffin Hawkins sings, half the Sin City Wrestling roster are family people. He's made himself anonymous again.

Victoria: Does this involve beating the shit out of him and the common sense in to him?

Narrator: Tony thought about his answer. There were many different approaches depending on personalities, and there wasn't a thought about doing this the easy way.

Tony: He doesn't seem like a man who you could reason with verbally. He doesn't seem like the type to listen and pay attention to you. He wants all the attention in the world, yet he doesn't seem the sort to give his attention away so easy. I need to do something to pull his attention to me.

Tony watches the trio move through the curtain as the backing track to Living On a Prayer started to play.

Victoria: Do you have any plan?

Narrator: It was more of a polite question rather than a genuine one. Victoria knew Tony had most likely had a plan in his mind and had done since he decided Teddy Warren was going to the person he was targeting.

Tony: Absolutely. He needs to see things close up. I need to see how far he would go to defend that family of his, or if the old Mr. Warren is lurking beneath the depths. That's the man he needs to be, not this fake front he puts on for his family. If the fire is there, I will find it in a relatively short time. I do know I need to remove Kate Steele from the situation.

A wide smile crosses Victoria's face as she looks at her son.

Victoria: You mean beat the bat shit crazy out of her?

Tony: Restrain her was more in the forefront of my mind, but should she fight back....

Victoria: Smash her face in. I can handle that.

Tony: We must hurry, Mr. Warren is not known to speak for very long when he's in a wrestling ring and don't predict that will change now.

Narrator: You know what happened next. Teddy was sent a loud, and clear message. The weeks have now past, a victory against O'Malley followed, and also left him wondering about the weight behind Tony's words, but it was now time to move to today. It was time to hear from Tony Thorn, it was time for the young man to speak more about Into The Void IX and Teddy Warren...

An unknown location in The Saxon Hotel, the camera moves around a fairly empty ring, but four things stand out around the camera, five mannequins, with hoods over their heads. Footsteps in the almost empty room start to become louder as someone moves towards the camera set up. Tony Thorn steps in to the camera shot, zero emotion on his face as his head dart between hooded mannequins.

Tony: I knew the absolute second I looked at Teddy Warren backstage what seemed like an eternity ago, that he would be the one that would stand out. Just perched and watching the way he acted showed me he deserved my attention, that he deserved to get help. He was a man who had the whole world in his hands attention wise, and once again, make a terrible call to change that and try something new in an attempt to garner more attention and yet again, failed miserably.

Tony steps towards the first hooded mannequin.

Tony: It's been the story of his life. He lives for the attention, he cries out for the attention, like it is vital to keep him alive. He has no morals or limits, just anything he possibly can do to keep eyes on his persons, he will indeed try. Even when he found that peak, that top level that could have made him something special, he wasn't satisfied and switched once more. You took the best you could be to get the maximum amount of exposure you needed to quench that thirst and decided to piss it away for no reason, Mr Warren.

Tony puts his finger under the first hood.

Tony: You've done it for years without the guidance, without the right people telling you, without educating you in the right way. You went off and proved how much guidance you needed by switching through these ridiculous amounts of gimmicks. You didn't think this through, did you Mr. Warren? It's an easy thing to set in order. The popularity, the attention rose by a slight amount with every change, due to it being new on the eyes. It happens in all walks of life with every situation. From the schoolboy that wore the new shoes that everyone wanted, at first people wanted to gather around, wanted to see them up close, but two days later, they have forgotten all about them. This is you summed up in a very simple analogy. You changed who you were just for that slight burst of attention, and yet it faded at a much faster pace than it would appear.

Tony lifts the hood of the first mannequin to show the face of Teddy Warren when he first appeared in SCW, a smile on his face.

Tony: This is where it started for you, Mr. Warren. The fresh faced gentlemen who came in looking for that attention, looking to be your own man, out of your wives shadow, but no one really cared for you at that point, no one really cared for anything you did and it ate away at you. You got lost in the shuffle and you did absolutely nothing. No one took a second look at you or considered you for anything at all. They saw you as just Mr. Kate Steele. Their attention was never fully on you and never was until you changed again for approval.

Tony pushes the mannequin to the ground and just shakes his head in disappointment.

Tony: But you tried like the little engine that could. Doing what you could to stop people thinking you was just an extra in a bad skit. You forced on, crying for people backstage to look at you and see who you were, to show your own skills, as few and far in between they were and you floated around to do nothing but disappoint people until you stumbled on this.

Tony moves to the second hooded mannequin.

Tony: You needed something else, so this is who you became.

Tony puts his hand on the top of the hood and pulls it off to show Teddy Warren in face paint, his tongue out.

Tony: Ah, the rockstar, the man who thought he could change the world with his music, but quite simply Teddy, your music was dreadful. You decided at this point to jump on the bandwagon in a company full of people who have sold millions of recordings worldwide, the likes of Griffin Hawkins for example. People like Alex Rush, who for all his odd quirks and love for wild animals, has also sold countless recordings. Then of course, there is your wife, a famous recording artist. You jumped on a band wagon because it felt trendy to do and you fell flat on your face then. No one cared about you at all. The thing with trends Mr. Warren, is you need to stand out when you decide to move in that direction. You need to be good at what you do Mr. Warren and sadly, you fell short again, so it was time for another change.

The emotionless young man pushes the second mannequin to the floor and turns his attention to the third.

Tony: Now this is where you may have struck something, because it got you attention for all the wrong reasons. It got you that food source because it was an embarrassment to everyone who had to watch it, but your goal was reached.

Tony pulls the third hood off, with red hair dropping down from under the food, the face imprinted on the front was that of Teddy Warren wearing make up.

Tony: Another trend jump Mr. Warren. You saw the world had become about nothing but people loving drag queens, which frankly shows how pitiful and how intellectually challenged people were when their nights were filled by watching people, MEN! FUCKING MEN TEDDY! Dress like abominations, to dress like the worst looking females on the planet, and you did nothing to help that because you pandered to those idiots, you dropped your level to become an embarrassment to both men and women. You got the attention you wanted, you got people watching you for just a show or two. People destroyed your soul because you made yourself an easy target by trying to become that freak of natural. Men should be men, women should be women, there are no other genders, they are just two, and they should not dress as each other and claim to be something they're not. This was you Mr. Warren, you became a fraud, a freak of nature just for the attention, just to be remembered.

Tony pushes the mannequin to the ground with ease.

Tony: This was your problem, wasn't it, Mr. Warren? You didn't care what kind of attention you got, as long as people were giving it to you. People were talking about you and you didn't seem to have a worry that they wasn't saying very pleasant things about you but you had what you wanted. The rest of the world groaned every time they saw you on the screen, but you did get that attention for the smallest amount of time, yet that wasn't enough for you. You had people talking about you, but you just couldn't be satisfied, so along came piss off the roster Teddy Warren.

Tony takes the forth hood off the fourth mannequin. The look of Teddy Warren looking smug and arrogant sits on the face of the fourth mannequin.

Tony: This Mr. Warren, this was the one who got the attention of the people you so desired to get that attention from, the people you shared that locker room with. EVERYONE was looking at you, talking about you finally breaking through that glass ceiling, the heel that could be pushed to the stars and back. Look at the past, because you learn so much from it. Mr. Ward and Mr. Underwood love to put the arrogant at the top. You only have to look at past World Champions, the like of Nick Jones, Sean Jackson, even the man who will not give you the time of day, J2H. Each had a swagger of arrogance, had a way of pulling a reaction from the people who watched them, an emotion of disdain, of hatred. I know they would have been sitting there with money signs in their eyes because you had given them what they wanted. You could have hidden the average wrestling skills behind the fact that you could draw people in. The whole roster wanted to get their hands on you, men, women, children, SCW, SCU, GRIME, everyone that could get their hands on you, wanted to. You were on to something right there.

Tony tilts his head and wraps his hands around the mannequins throat, his demeanour changing instantly to anger.

Tony: BUT YOU FUCKED IT UP! YOU FOUND THE RIGHT COMBINATION AND YOU FUCKED IT UP! YOU COULD HAVE KEPT THAT ATTENTION BUT YOU FUCKED IT UP YOU SILLY SON OF A BITCH!

Tony takes a deep breath and slowly loosens his grip, keeping his face closer to it.

Tony: You had the right combination to be a success and forever have that attention you would like. It's what you searched for, what you craved for since the second you stepped in to a wrestling thing and you decided that it wasn't sufficient for you to continue it. You had to become this.

A look of disgust passes etches itself on Tony's face as he reaches for the fifth and final mask and pulls it from the mannequins head and tosses it to one side. The lack of coverings reveals Teddy Warren with a look of redemption on his face.

Tony: You went from someone who was spoken of in many positive ways, despite your awful negative actions. You went from someone who had the eyes of the world on him, to a man who had lost everything in a dramatically short amount of time. This guy...

Tony pokes the redemption mannequin in the middle of the forehead with his left hand.

Tony: This guy, no one cares about again. This is the lowest people have ever cared about you, they refuse to pay attention to someone who was a mega heel, to a poor face in the space of a few short shows. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't even be spoken of right now. I have already brought you back to the thoughts of people because of what I have done. This version of you needs to die, and die right now.

With a quick swing of his right arm, Tony's hand spins up and plunges a small knife in to the middle of the redemption mannequin's head, right between the eyes.

Tony: You're free Mr. Warren, free to return to who you should really be if you want to re-gather that attention you really want.

Tony turns his body back towards the forth mannequin.

Tony: I have shown, just by my presence that you can get what you need and I am telling you Mr. Warren, this is the person you need to be if you want any success in Sin City Wrestling or anywhere else. Stop the painful to see redemption bullshit that no one buys anyway. If they do not buy it, they will not believe in you, but this is the Mr. Warren I could believe in, this is the man that can not only get the world's attention but capture those championships you so sorely crave. All you need to do is see the true you, this you.

Tony puts his hand on the arrogant mannequins shoulder.

Tony: This is all you need to do, this is who you need to be. I will get you back to this person, I will make sure that once I have defeated you on Sunday, that these words will spring to mind. You'll see that you're not the person you really want to be. If I didn't push you, would have shattered that mirror on my head? No, I pushed you back to this man, I PUSHED YOU TO DRIVE THAT MIRROR IN TO MY SKULL! I FORCED YOU TO MAKE ME BLEED!

A slight curve of the lip forms in to a smile.

Tony: Admit it, for that few second, you enjoyed it, because you simply stopped caring about people who liked you, you became the person you always should have been. I sacrificed myself to show you that there is still an arrogant son of a bitch inside you that needs to get out and if you don't bring it out Mr. Warren, come Sunday at Into The Void IX, I will beat it out you. I will reach deep in to your soul and drag it from your body, I will tighten my grip and do whatever it takes to get it out of you. It doesn't matter if I have to tell you every single opportunity that I get, that your family isn't worth this. That your wife cares for no one but herself, that you are nothing more than a roadie to her. Are you getting mad yet?

Tony moves his head closer to the mannequin.

Tony: How about if I tell you that your child doesn't respect you? Through her eyes, you're meant to be a wrestler, a man people talk about, but no one is talking about you, no one cares about you, no one respects you. Your daughter doesn't respect you. Are you mad now?

Tony pushes his lips next to the mannequin's ear and lowers his voice to a whisper.

Tony: You need to be this real you if you wanna be one of the greatest heels in the history of Sin City Wrestling. This is the one way you're gonna get that attention you need to satisfy that urge you have. You know I'm right. You know you need to listen to me, Mr. Warren. Without listening, without me beating the bad back in to you, you will never get another match in Sin City Wrestling again. You'll be forgotten immediately, you'll be overlooked constantly for people who can't wrestle like El Dark. Do you want to be lower in our employers mind than a man who can barely sting a sentence together? This is where you're heading in their thoughts unless you let me help you Mr. Warren. You need to let me help you or you will end up that low in their thoughts, your career will be finished. Let me help you.

Tony puts his right hand on the mannequins left shoulder, his voice still a whisper by its ear.

Tony: You need this to get to your ultimate goal of having all the attention on you. You broke the barrier and you stopped and stepped back. It's time to be who you are and shatter that barrier once more. You will never be where you was before, unless you go back to what you had before. You can change this is you listen to me, you can change this if you take my advice. You need to be saved and I am here to do so. When you're laying in that ring on Sunday, feeling the inevitable pain rushing through your body, the noise of people drowned out, think about this, think about the change you need to change and I will be there to turn you in to the person you desire to be.

Tony takes half a step back, putting his left hand on it's right shoulder, looking it deep in the eyes.

Tony: I have said all I can say to you, I have told you all I needed to, you now need to take all I've said and listen to it repeatedly, because it will help you more than your mind can imagine.

Tony pats the mannequin on the shoulder and nods.

Tony: You have been enlightened.

He turns one hundred and eighty degrees and starts to walk away. Just his footsteps can be heard as the camera fades to black.

Tony Thorn V Teddy Warren

Hotel Room

Teddy honestly needed to get away from everything. He glanced over at his wife who was sleeping peacefully in the bed. She couldn’t help but move about as she seemed to look like that of Sleeping Beauty and showed no signs of waking up as she was in and out of consciousness. Teddy turned the television on as he every single channel was covering that of the protests around the world. Teddy just sighed as his daughter walked over to where he was sitting and she sat next to him. She smiled as she looked over into his eyes.

“Daddy… Why are people going so crazy in the world… I don’t know why people would be rude to each other and they would do this Black Lives Matter stuff…”

Teddy nods his head as he looks at his Anglo-Saxon adopted daughter. He wraps his arms around his twelve year old as he sighs in return.

“It’s because there’s just so much hate in the world pumpkin. For some reason there are people in this world who don’t like people who have the color that I have. They have this opinion of me and instead of judging me by the content of my character they make assumptions based on my race. It is really naïve that some people can honestly act like that but you don’t have to worry about anything. Even if you had the same color as me it wouldn’t make a difference. I would never allow anybody to hurt you. You are my daughter and that is more than enough of a reason for me to be there for you…”

Juliet smiles as she grabs her father and embracing him into a hug.

“I love you daddy… I don’t want you to get hurt and I don’t know what I would do if anybody hurt you…”

“I know pumpkin. That’s just the world we live in. There are a lot of people who act like that but none of that is important right now. Your mom’s birthday is going to be in a few days. I think she had a really bad concussion from jumping off of that tour bus so we need to take care of her. She has a huge birthday coming up and we need to make sure she has the best birthday party that she has ever had. I have this practical joke I want to play on her and I am going to need your help to sell it. You think you can do that much for me?!”

Juliet nods her head with a chuckle.

“You know I can do that… Tricking mommy is going to be so much fun. She always does everything to trick you so this is actually going to be amazing for once…”

“Good I need you to really look after her. I need to get some fresh air so I am really counting on you to be there for mommy. No matter what it’s up to you to make sure she continues to sleep peacefully…”

“I will do it dad but where are you going?!”

“Don’t worry about it… I just need some time for myself…”

Teddy smiles at his daughter as he walks into the other room of his hotel suite. He walks over to that of his wife’s makeup bag and pulls out some various forms of eye liner and lipsticks. He places them in his pocket as he walks over to the safe in the room. He presses a few buttons and as he does the safe opens up. Inside of the safe is a large dress. He pulls it out and holds it close to his chest as he finds a pair of heels and a blonde wig. He holds them tightly as he quickly sneaks out of the hotel room and runs down the corridor. He passes by various signs that read SCW Talent Show. Teddy smiles as he quickly runs to that of the hotel lobby and he quickly goes into the men’s bathroom and locks the door behind him. He took a long glance at his reflection.

Teddy had so many thoughts going through his head. He could only envision that of Tony Thorn talking to him. In the same way he had always envisioned J2H being one step ahead of him. The image of Tony was now the one that was haunting him as it started to speak to him.

“As I always said… I want you to take off that mask Teddy. We both know the truth and as much as you try to deny it you aren’t the family man that you perceive to be. You are a selfish fuck. You need the spotlight and the real version of you was the one that did everything in his power to get that attention. Are you honestly okay with being in your wife’s shadows?! Are you happy with her gaining the spotlight and you being relegated to that of background noise?! You are so much better than that and I know you have it in you to be better than that… Show me who you really are. Show me the person behind the mask and become the Teddy that intrigued me…”

Teddy honestly didn’t know what got into him as he opened up one of Kate’s lipsticks. He slowly started to place it across his lips as a bright pink was around his mouth. It wasn’t enough for Teddy as he put on some of his wife’s makeup as he covered his face a bit. He made sure to put the eye liner on and he smacked his lips together. Tony’s image smirked as he clapped his hands together to speak to Teddy.

“That’s what I like to see Teddy… This is the real version of you isn’t it. Doesn’t this feel so great… Isn’t it exhilarating to finally be who you were destined to be… Whatever happened to my little Teddy bear… You had such strength such charm. You were so great and the most hated man in the company. Are you honestly happy that petite Bitch of yours manipulated you into you becoming who you aren’t supposed to be… She twisted your entire mentality Teddy and you know that isn’t you… She’s probably laughing at you because you are back in her shadow. She can now be the spotlight hug and you showing yourself as a family man is just a way to make sure you don’t do anything stupid… I never took you as somebody who loved being controlled….”

Teddy sighs as he shakes his head. He suddenly puts the dress on along with the heels. He covers his hair with that of the blonde wig. A smile escapes his lips as Tony’s image just smiles.

“That’s looks so much better. This is the real you. No matter how much you wish to deny it you simply can’t run away from who you were destined to be. You are supposed to be the man that would eventually go on to be better than that of J2H… How can you do that with such a selfish wife?! Is she even worth it… After all her and her band were beaten down by a single woman in my mom. How bad does that even look when you think about it…Just think about it Teddy. You can’t let people control you but if you let me show you the errors of your way we can work on making things right…. Go on live out your wildest fantasy. Go do what you were born to do…”

With that Teddy can’t help but make his way to that of that special talent show. He had no idea why he was heading in that direction but something was basically calling him to do so. He didn’t know what it was but something definitely had a grip on him. He finally made it to his destination of this special talent show. He made his way to the stage in his heels as the smile escapes his lips, and we could hear an announcer announce him.

“Ladies and gentlemen coming to the stage to sing it’s raining men by the weather girls is the newest member of the GEM STONES… PEARL!!!!!!!”

Teddy smiled as he sang the song as passionately as he could. He blew kisses out to the crowd as he waved and smirked at everyone in attendance. He was over the top with his flamboyancy among other things. He strutted all around the stage as he finally felt free. He was liberated from Kate and her controlling ways. He didn’t have a care in the world. Maybe just maybe Tony was right all around. He didn’t want to agree with his nemesis but he did have a point. Teddy received a bunch of cheers and he smiled as he saw the image of Tony clapping for him.

“Bravo Teddy bravo… I knew you would be quite the star in the making. Pearl is such a gorgeous name. It’s way better than that of the real Gem Stones but I have one last surprise for you and you are definitely going to love it…”

With that Teddy seems befuddled and it’s as this moment that he could see his twelve year old daughter walking towards him. Juliet makes her way to him as she seems to be really confused.

“Daddy why are you wearing a dress and makeup… Can you explain to me what’s going on?!”

“Pumpkin listen… I need to tell you something about daddy… The truth is that I am actually….”

What would Teddy say?! How could he explain drag and the way he felt deep inside of him. He didn’t like it but Tony seemed to have gotten to him and now he was in a weird situation. Maybe just maybe this was the real version of himself. It felt seriously uncomfortable. He looked at his daughter and before he could even open his mouth he quickly woke up in his bed. He looked to his side and could see his wife sleeping peacefully next to him. His eyes moved to that of the television and his daughter was watching all of the protests.

“Oh daddy you are awake… Can I ask you a question why do people…”

This felt like a weird case of déjà vu and Teddy didn’t know what to think. He quickly cut her off as he motioned for his daughter to come to him.

“Come here pumpkin… There’s so much going on in the world but as important as that is the only thing that matters is this time we all have together. This is what matters to me. I love both you and my mother and despite whatever weird thoughts might come into my head nothing will ever keep my focus off of you both. You understand that right?! You are my daughter and it doesn’t matter what our skin color is. Nothing will ever change the way I feel about you or your mother…”

Juliet smiles as wide as she possibly could as she can’t help but chuckle in return.

“That sounds so awesome daddy and I really can’t wait until we do this huge birthday party for mommy. It’s going to be quite exciting.”

“It will be really exciting and she is going to love every single bit of it pumpkin… I would do anything for the both of you. No matter what you are what’s on my mind at all times. Your mommy is truly that of a great little warrior and you are the best daughter a guy could ask for. Why don’t you come into the bed so we can all snuggle with one another. We can order us a great movie and get the best possible room service that this hotel has to offer. How does that sound?!”

Juliet’s eyes light up as she jumps into the bed beside her parents. Despite Kate being out like a light Teddy knew he could never turn his back on this. Not now and certainly not ever. This is what meant everything to him. He would never stop being a family man. He loved it way too much.

You know what I am going to be honest and say I have been waiting for this moment for a while now. I can finally get my hands on that of Tony Thorn and this has been a long time coming. Tony I can respect your drive for the business and I can get behind the fact that you have done enough in this business to be undefeated. I certainly haven’t had that luxury. I lost my share of matches but I am proud for everything I have done in this company. I may not have the best record by any means but I always try my best to bring it.

What you did a month ago was inexcusable. I came down to the ring with the likes of my daughter. It was perhaps the biggest moment in my entire career. I don’t care if I won most hated man of the year. I don’t even care if I won the Roulette Championship but there are some images that are worth a lot more than that of any award or holding gold. You can’t take away sharing a moment with your child.

It was the best day of my career. My daughter and I sprinted through the curtains and we were able to sing with each other. We had the band playing in the background and she got to see firsthand what it was like to walk in daddy’s shoes. I will never forget how happy she was to take that stroll down the aisle. Not even Kate has done that with her but I did and it was a magical moment.

Yet as magical as it was you ruined it because you came out to the ring and you jumped me. You beat me down and you gave me a fucking concussion when you took things a step too far by blasting me with that chair over and over again. It was very rude and it damn sure was inconsiderate because I was forced to stay in a medical facility when all of this Corona shit was going on. It was nerve racking and honestly I fucking HATED having to be in the hotel and watch from afar as my wife tried to stand up for my honor.

It was bullshit just like other things but this week it’s about us in that ring. It’s about us locking up and no matter what happens I am going to give you everything I got. It may not be enough but it’s not really about winning. It’s about standing up for my family and being a wonderful husband. Nothing can ever take that away from me win or lost. So bring your best Tony I will be waiting…
