I Don't Care Anymore
« on: October 26, 2018, 11:53:04 PM »
The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich sitting sadly on an ottoman in her Detroit hotel room, dressed in sweatpants and a matching Detroit Rampage sweatshirt.

Seleana Zdunich: This is one of the sad parts of Sin City Wrestling…

Shaking her head sadly, Seleana barely looks up to the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: Even the good ones cannot seem to keep their facts straight.

She shrugs, somewhere between sadness and annoyance, resignation taking hold.

Seleana Zdunich: Christina won the bloody belt already, the part she failed to do but you did not was to take it back from Mikah!

Looking back down to the floor, Seleana shrugs yet again.

Seleana Zdunich: But, it is hard to know that given the way the history is kept at times. Much like the length of time we have been partners inside the ring. Christina trained me starting late last year and in the ten months’ time that I have been inside the ring, this well be only our second tag team match together.

She shakes her head sadly, resignedly.

Seleana Zdunich: This should be the happiest point in my career to this point! I should be thrilled...

Her hand waves out in front of her, seemingly lost in its own right.

Seleana Zdunich: I have been waiting since we first came to SCW for this match!

She looks up into the camera as her hand slaps down onto the ottoman next to her thigh.

Seleana Zdunich: This is what I was always told was going to happen ever since I came into this sport. I went to LAW and we had one match early on against Christina’s fellow Boardwalk Angels, who happened to be the World Tag Team Champions in LAW at the time.

Sitting up, her hands both rise up into the air at the fondness of the memory.

Seleana Zdunich: It was the greatest feeling I’d ever had. It was my second or third match EVER!

Leaning forward as if bringing in a small group for the story, Seleana’s hands start to move in front of her a mile a minute, pointing this way and that as she goes.

Seleana Zdunich: And there I was, standing in the ring with Crystal Hilton by my side and across from us, stood Zoey Madigan-Star and Farrah Cornett, one of the greatest tag teams in the history of wrestling. At the time, they had not even come close to losing, but even more than that, it meant so much to me personally.

Her right hand pulls back and pounds her chest in exclamation.

Seleana Zdunich: Farrah was very nearly my mother-in-law. Zoey was a good friend and Christina and I had been introduced by yet another Boardwalk Angel in Stacy Jones.

She pauses to nod to the camera in acknowledgement.

Seleana Zdunich: Stacy had even been responsible for giving me my ring name of “The Cat.”

She pauses and exhales heavily.

Seleana Zdunich: There was already a fifth Boardwalk Angel in Courtney Leinart so I never even considered the possibility of me joining that group. All of them had been a champion at some point somewhere while I was a rookie with nothing to my name but a legacy from my cousin and my little sister. Who was I to dare dream of being such a thing?

Almost laughing at herself, Seleana nods to herself as she sits back slightly on the ottoman.

Seleana Zdunich: I mean, my sister was a in a group called the Fallen Angels and i knew I didn’t deserve to be in that group. Zenna and her partner, Li, have never lost a two on two tag team match that they have competed in. How could I compare with that or the Boardwalk Angels when I had barely ever competed?

She cocks her head to her right.

Seleana Zdunich: But Christina looked at me and said we would be a team on our own. We would be the Hollywood Angels because, I mean, of course, we would, right?

She nods as if the answer is obvious.

Seleana Zdunich: Christina is an Angel and she’s from Hollywood. It follows that any team she would be a part of, especially when the other half is surrounded by Angels as well like I am, would be called the Hollywood Angels.

A small smile crosses her face.

Seleana Zdunich: So, we were set to be the Hollywood Angels and we were…

She raises a hand with her index finger extended as well.

Seleana Zdunich: For that one night.

The hand falls to her side as the smile fades as well.

Seleana Zdunich: We did well. We competed with the best in Zoey and Farrah and we very nearly defeated them.

She nods, looking as if she could bawl any second now.

Seleana Zdunich: But we did not defeat them and we never teamed up again. Everyone always said there would be more opportunities but those never came because LAW closed and then we came to SCW where they have no division for a team such as the Hollywood Angels.

Seleana Zdunich: Still, I held out hope that with both Christina and her daughter, Brittany Williams, on the roster here in SCW, the Hollywood Angels would fly again even if only on rare occasions to help build up to matches at the big supercards.

She looks up and shrugs sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: But that hasn’t happened either, has it?

She shakes her head slowly, anger and resentment starting to bubble up inside her.

Seleana Zdunich: No, what has happened is other people giving no respect to anything. They show up and talk to Christina through me or they barely bother to speak at all and when they do, it is so late that it almost does not matter going into the match because there was no time to rebut anything. Some even barely bother to submit their own contract before the match and thus I have to basically fight them blind and find out there was way more to them than...

She looks down and slaps her knee in frustration.

Seleana Zdunich: And now we get things like Christian Underwood threatening to have me barred from the building because I threatened a match that he had been the one to threaten…

She looks up and shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Because…

Shaking her head, she looks away from the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: Because he has a hard-on to prove how large he is and must throw his weight around to prove that he is not stealing from this company by existing. He threatens to disrupt a match… and nothing happens.

She looks back to the camera and glares through it.

Seleana Zdunich: He threatens to ban me for nothing and nothing happens…

Gritting her teeth, she shakes her head in disbelief.

Seleana Zdunich: Kate Steels and Maria Salvatore can commit wanton acts that should warrant investigations and sanctions and yet…

She shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Nothing happens to either of them aside from continued employment in good standing.

She almost laughs mirthlessly at the situation.

Seleana Zdunich: So now, here we are, I finally get the match I wanted all along. I get to team with my wife against somebody I respect greatly in Dani Weston and somebody I would not piss on if they were on fire in Apple Coren and….

She waves a hand palm up in front of her as she almost starts to shake in outraged annoyance.

Seleana Zdunich: Because it happens two weeks AFTER I find out my wife has cheated on me with her ex-husband and AFTER we have gone to a party at the home of somebody who has attempted to injure me twice and AFTER all of this…

She trails off and waves her hand all around in a circle.

Seleana Zdunich: I find one sad fact about this match…

Her hands lower and she shrugs to the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: It’s too late.

She stands up and waves at the camera dismissively.

Seleana Zdunich: I wrestle for a company that has shown it gives little to no fucks about me. They barely talk to me and they refuse to give me any tips on how to enjoy increased success here. The people on the roster barely acknowledge I am even on it with them and those that do acknowledge me  tend to act as if I am simply an avatar for my wife and now, my wife has been avoiding me and not talking to me that much on top of everything else because she is ashamed of what happened thanks to both her own indiscretions and Kate Steele and Maria Salvatore’s unpunished vendettas against her for reasons that no one has bothered to clue me in on.

She shrugs angrily.

Seleana Zdunich: I would say they were not justified but since I have no idea if they are or not…

She exhales heavily once again.

Seleana Zdunich: Dani, i want to apologize to you because you deserve so much better than what I am going to give you in this match. You are a fellow rookie and you have risen to the pinnacle of this company while I have floundered about beneath you. You deserve the best i can give and I’m sad to admit that the best I can give you right now is not what i wish it was.

Her eyes intensify their anger.

Seleana Zdunich: Apple Coren, you can kiss my Swedish ass! There is nothing you can say that will hurt em and there is nothing you can say that will change my opinion of you and I know you could not care less about that if you actively tried. I will enjoy getting to slap you around for whatever time I am allotted because you deserve so much worse to happen to you than just getting smacked by me.

She shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: The sad truth is, I just don’t care anymore. From now on, this is not fun, this is not happy, this is not something to dream about. This is a paycheck and a way to blow off steam and it starts with this match and the two of you!

She nods and starts to walk off the shot.

Seleana Zdunich: Dani, you deserve better, but you are not going to get it. I just don’t care anymore…
