Climax Control Archives / Well, this is……interesting……

The Blast from the past tournament was well under way and so far the following teams where through to the next round, Jessie Salco and Landon Axel, Gene Burton Jr. and Amy Marshall (eliminating last year’s champion Jordan Williams in the process), Simon Jones and Brandi Shotze and Roxi Johnson and Argento who qualified in last week’s main event.

This week four more hopeful teams looked towards the second round, more specifically Vixen and Jamie Dean, Song and Ben Jordan, Derek Thorne and Diamond, Ethan Brody and Delia, Misty and the focus for today’s promo Cyrus King and Steve Ramone and the mystery Bombshell…..who were also the focus of this promo, that’s right, the unlikely alliance between Cyrus King and Steve Ramone was going to be put to the test as they were facing off in the first round of the Blast from the Past Tournament, both men were looking to advance themselves in the rankings by using this tournament but can Cyrus win?

Do you ever wonder who you get into these messes?

Not me, I know exactly how I got into this mess and that was the moment I signed up for the Blast from the Past Tournament, and then Steve decided to sign up thinking that Mark and Christian wouldn’t book us against each other in the first round.

Note to Steve, NEVER TAKE UP GAMBLING!

That’s right that was exactly what they did! Though on the other hand I can’t complain about the Bombshell that they teamed me up with, Misty, she’s a veteran of the sport and if SCW ever opened a Hall of Fame I’m sure that she’d be one of the first inductions, Steve on the other hand has no idea who he’s teaming with.

Literally, he’s teaming up with that mystery entrant!

On one hand they have the element of surprise in their corner as Steve’s mystery partner could be the returning Odette Ryder for all we know! On the other hand, they have the element of surprise in their corner as Steve’s partner could be one of the backstage interviewers for all he knows! Regardless of my friendship with Steve and the mystery behind his partner I’m more than confident that we can make it through to the next round.

If my friendship with Steve is still intact when all is said and done however is another issue entirely!

“Look man, I didn’t exactly ask for this match!” Steve said over the phone as I got changed into my workout gear, me and Miranda are at the gym getting ready for a workout and whilst I’ll be on the weights she’ll be going for a swim in the swimming pool, fun times! “If I had that kind of power I would’ve asked for a match with Max Burke’s team instead!”

“Right, you have quite the history with Burke, don’t you?” I asked rhetorically as I started doing some stretches.

“Yeah and I’m still hoping to get another shot at the Roulette Title!” Steve responded and I nodded with a frown. “At least you know who you’re teaming with!”

“Not only that but I have one of the best partners I could ask for in this tournament!” I responded as I put a muscle shirt on. “Misty’s accolades in the ring speak for themselves!”

“I know and that’s what makes me nervous about teaming with a mystery partner!” Steve added and I chuckled. “On one hand I know it’s not Jessie because her team’s already qualified.”

“On the other hand it could be her sister!” I responded and Steve laughed. “Speaking of Jessie…..”

“No, I haven’t spoken to Jessie since Climax Control, no, I don’t know if she accepted Shane’s somehow cheesier than my proposal to Charlotte proposal and no, I didn’t see any engagement rings on their fingers.” Steve responded as if he knew what I was going to ask. “They were wearing gloves on the hands where the engagement rings go.”

“Hold on, it was very hot in that arena and Long Beach in general……yet they still wore gloves?” I asked skeptically and Steve shook his head, we were chatting via Facetime so I could see his face. “What’s the big deal? We’re both married and we have no problems communicating that fact!”

“I’d say its age different but I was around Jessie’s age when I got engaged to Charlotte, you were a bit older weren’t you?” Steve asked and I nodded. “Maybe they are waiting until the right time to reveal it?”

“If they wanted to do that why not save it for the next Supercard?” I pointed out and Steve shrugged his shoulders in response. “Look, I don’t know the kid but if she said yes I’m happy for her, if not then maybe she wants to wait until she’s a bit older.”

“Yeah well, if you’re really that curious about it I’ll try to find an excuse to chat with her on Facebook, Bloodstock announcement, SCW, wrestling in general, I’ll think of something!” Steve responded and noticed that I went to say something. “I tried asking her at Climax Control and she dodged the question like a bullet!”

“You tried her NXT teammates? If anyone knows her better than her adopted family members it’s them.” I pointed out and Steve shook his head.

“I don’t know the other members of NXT well enough to ask them otherwise I would’ve done it by now.” Steve responded and I nodded. “And I’m willing to bet that they know as much as we do.”

“Speaking of bets, remember when you bet that this match wasn’t going to happen until a later round?” I asked and Steve rolled his eyes knowing where I was going with this. “Don’t go into gambling.”

“Cyrus, if I had a dollar for each time that Charlotte told me that since the match got announced I wouldn’t need to gamble!” Steve responded and I chuckled. “Speaking of whom, I gotta go!”

“Same here, I’ve got some trash talk and weight lifting to do.” I responded and before Steve could object to me using a phone-call between us in a promo for a match that featured the two of us going head-to head I hung up on him and tossed the IPhone into the locker before locking it, the locker room was mostly deserted, likely due to how early it was, giving me a chance to do my promo.

“Sorry to do that to you Steve, but when the cameracrew showed up at the gym just as we were talking it was too good an opportunity to miss up! As you know this week we will be locking horns in the ring! I have the size advantage, you have the experience advantage, and not to mention actually having wins under your belt! But then there are our partners for this Blast from the Past Tournament match! In my corner I have the beautiful and talented Misty in your corner you have a mystery woman!”

I may actually win this match! Anyway I may as well pick up where I left off and address Steve.

“Steve, we made our debuts in SCW at exactly the same time! I took on James Hawkes and you took on the local retirement home’s newest resident Casey Williams, our fates may have been different that day but we were untied by one goal, The Saviors!  And we all saw what happened after their debut match, didn’t we? That was before the New Year and a lot has happened since then such as the two of us being forced to take each other on!”

I said as I shook my head.

“It takes a lot to earn my respect as a wrestler but it typically falls under one of two categories, when you’re an accomplished veteran in the ring like you and Misty or when you’re a fellow ex-army member such as “Big Tiger” Jeremiah Hardin! That said I hold nothing back in the ring and this match will be no exception! No matter whom your mystery partner is Steve I and Misty will go through to the next round!”

Next up is the mystery opponent.

“I know I can’t take on the women and as a married man who loves his wife and would never even dream of hurting her I wouldn’t do it anyway unlike “Big Money” Jimmy Ringo!” I added as I shook my head in disgust. “But Jessie Salco addressed both of her opponents in her match and that worked out perfectly for her team so who am I to deviate from what works? Granted, the fact that it’s a mystery opponent makes it significantly more difficult to do but I’ll try my best!”

Not exactly the first time I’ve faced a mystery opponent.

“The problem lies in the fact that the only thing I know about Steve’s partner is that, unless Steve got a sex change when I wasn’t looking, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a Bombshell! Other than that I have no clue and neither does Misty for that matter! Now granted there are a lot of Bombshells who didn’t sign up for the tournament so it could be an existing roster member hoping to use the element of surprise to her advantage! On the other hand it could be Hope Heelcum using some loophole to claim that he’s a Bombshell at which point Steve will become the Bad Luck Brian of the Blast from the Past Tournament! In all seriousness though, no matter who Steve’s partner is we are ready for anyone who steps into the ring with us!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“When I signed up for Blast from the Past II I wasn’t expecting to be teamed up with someone as renowned as Misty, nor was I expecting to be put up against a man who I consider a close friend! But in the ring there are no friends only enemies and when all is said and done, no matter whom Steve’s partner is they will join Steve in bowing down to the king!”

I finally locked my locker and left the locker room as the scene fades.

Climax Control Archives / I thought ACW was dead.
« on: January 09, 2014, 09:55:35 PM »
The New Year is here and to say that it was kicking off in a huge way for Cyrus King was quite an understatement, over in LOW he has just won the LOW US Title for the second time in his career beating James Hughes in a highly competitive match and whilst his first defense wasn’t scheduled yet he did have another title to compete for.

That title was the ACW World Title being defended by Drake Green against Cyrus King on the second addition of Climax Control of 2014, if Cyrus wins this match he’ll be in possession of two titles from two different companies and would provide a huge boost to his SCW career at the same time, can Cyrus win his second title in a row?

Craftsteak, Las Vegas, Nevada
January 9th, 2014, 17:00pm

Well, I followed Steve’s advice and I’m now celebrating two things at Craftsteak, the anniversary of my wedding to Miranda and winning my second ever title in my LOW career, and this week I get a chance to win another title in SCW.

Namely the ACW World Title, yes, I thought ACW was dead as well.

But that will have to wait for now, I have celebrating to be done and unlike Steve last week I had no problem booking a table tonight, mostly because it’s not New Year’s Eve but I digress. We are currently enjoying our champagne whilst we wait for our starters, Diver Sea Scallops for me and Goat’s Cheese for Miranda.

“Cyrus, let’s propose a toast.” Miranda offered as she held up her glass, I grinned in response and picked up my glass. “To another five years as husband and wife!” Miranda added and our glasses touched before we took a sip.

“And I have one of my own.” I said and Miranda quickly got the idea. “To my current title reign, my ACW World Title Reign and all my title reigns to come.” I added and we toasted before taking another sip of the drink. “I didn’t think I’d ever have the possibility of winning two different titles in two different companies in the same week.”

“That would definitely be a first.” Miranda agreed as we set the glasses down. “Honestly given how often you’ve been alternating the two companies, and ACW, I’m surprised that it didn’t happen sooner.” Miranda added and I shook my head.

“I wasn’t exactly in the running for the US Title after I lost it back to Lasher.” I responded with a frown. “I think my last title opportunity now was the Elimination Chamber match where James won the title in the first place and I only got another shot at it because Justice intentionally got himself disqualified.” I added and Miranda shook her head.

“Yeah, that’s at the top of my list of things I’ve never understood during my career as a wrestling manager.” Miranda added and I frowned knowing where she was going with this. “I mean it’s right alongside how your career survived the male stripper tag team gimmick.”

“I thought we agreed that we never spoke about that on camera.” I responded with a frown. “And now Christian’s going to be pestering me about the footage of that gimmick!”

“You don’t have to worry about that, I sent him the footage the week after your debut, in ring debut that is.” Miranda responded and I didn’t know how to feel about that…. “Isn’t the guy you teamed with a car salesman now?”

“Used Car Salesman last I talked to him.” I responded with a frown. “As far as he’s concerned he never even went through wrestling training, and if my career didn’t survive I’d probably feel the same way.” I added before deciding to change the subject before one of the waitresses got curious. “So what are you having as your main?”

“Charlotte recommended the Fillet Mingon so that’s what I’m going with.” Miranda responded with a nod. “And you?”

“I have got to go with the T-Bone, there’s no better choice for me!” I responded before setting down the menu as did Miranda, a few minutes later the waitress returned and asked if we were ready for our mains and once we ordered our steaks she walked off to extradite the order to the kitchen and allow us to relax. “Speaking of things I’ve got to do….”

“Let me guess, its promo time right?” Miranda responded and I nodded in response. “I’m going to save the waitress some time and I’ll text you when the food arrives.” Miranda added and I turned on my cell-phone which I had left off to avoid another situation like with Steve’s promo last week, I may have called him but I realize that I was being rude to him, in any case I made my way out of the restaurant, found a quiet spot to conduct my promo from and started my promo.

“We are barely two weeks into 2014 and I already hold one title, no, I’m not getting ahead of myself and projecting myself as the second ever ACW Heavyweight Champion in SCW……not yet anyway……instead I am talking about the very title that I was holding when I came into SCW the LOW US Title which I won back at All Out Assault III earlier this week! As you can probably tell I am very excited about this news but after Climax Control my momentum will continue to rise after I defeat Drake Green for the ACW Heavyweight Title.”

Wait, what?

“Drake Green, JJ Dixon, you need to let go off the past! ACW is dead! Dead and buried because JJ Dixon lost the company in a poker game! You know, it’s been five months since I joined SCW as a result of the merger and I still can’t believe the sheer stupidity JJ Dixon displayed in that move! I’m half expecting Microsoft to lose the rights to the X-Box Brand, any titles they published, pretty much anything related to gaming, to Nintendo because off a game of Go Fish between Bill Gates and the president of Nintendo of Japan because of that incident! And hell, at least Nintendo wouldn’t try to screw over its customers!”

But I’m getting off topic.

“But apparently I was wrong, it seems that JJ and Drake are trying to keep the brand alive in SCW, I’m just going to get this out of the way, if you’re going to try to win me over to your side JJ then forget it! I may have worked with you once back when ACW was an actual company but I refuse to work with anyone who bets their company on a poker game! As for you Drake, I’m sorry but as I remember it you where enemies with JJ back in ACW, what happened?”

Yes, I’m asking that.

“What happened in the intervening time between ACW’s merger and your return that made you decide that aligning yourself with JJ Dixon would be a good idea? You know that snake will betray you at some point, right? If not then any thought I had off you possessing any intelligence whatsoever just went out the window!”

Alongside any respect I had for you.

“ACW may be dead but I cannot and will not allow a title to be in the hands of such a huge idiot for much longer! This Sunday at Climax Control I will win the ACW Heavyweight Title and afterwards, I may retire it so that you can never get your hands on it again! I say may because as I mentioned I won the LOW US Title earlier this week and the prospect of me holding not one but two championship titles in two different companies is an attractive one to say the least!”

I got the text from Miranda and once I read it I decided to wrap things up.

“Drake, your return was unexpected to say the least as was the revival of the ACW Heavyweight Championship and the fact that you where aligned with JJ Dixon and whilst I’m still confused as to why you are aligning yourself with your former enemy I know one thing, this Sunday you will bow down to the king as I raise the ACW Heavyweight Title high!”

I returned to the restaurant as the scene fades.

Supercard Archives / "BIG TIGER" JEREMIAH HARDIN (c) vs CYRUS KING
« on: December 02, 2013, 07:49:38 PM »
Thanksgiving has come and gone and you know what else has come and gone? The first promo week for SCW’s December 2 Dismember II Supercard being broadcast from Newark, Canada this Sunday! Whilst the promos where few and far between due to Thanksgiving there were still quite a few promos aired including ones from Jeremiah Hardin and Cyrus King promoting their Roulette Title Match at the Supercard.

Now that week two has begun Cyrus obviously has some things to say to the current Roulette Champion regarding their upcoming title match, not only that but he wants to get things done early this week as he has already requested a cameracrew to come around to his hotel room in Newark, Canada in spite of being jet lagged from his flight from Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic which was playing host to LOW’s next SuperNova, can Cyrus win?

Cyrus’s hotel room, Newark, Canada
December 2nd, 2013, 11:00am

Some people would call me an idiot for conducting a promo whilst jet lagged, those people also include my wife, but in reality it just shows how dedicated I am to SCW.

We arrived at the hotel at around 3am last night, we would’ve gotten here earlier but, well, you know, flight delays and all that fun stuff that the airlines seem to do just to piss people off and that’s why I’m as jet lagged as I am but to be honest I don’t care.

If I could conduct a promo whilst I was in a coma, I would!

So, what do I have to say about Hardin’s promo? He’s making the same mistake my opponent in LOW, Justice, is making, underestimating me, but whilst Justice’s obsession over the World Title is the reason he’s underestimating me it’s the fact that I have yet to win a match in SCW that Hardin is underestimating me and he’ll realize his mistake at December 2 Dismember II when we loses the title in his first defense.

The fact that he referenced one of Metallica’s worst songs just seals the deal.

So what am I up too? Drinking Red Bull so that I won’t nod off in the middle of this promo and you know what? It’s working awesomely so far, yeah I realize the irony of using an energy drink with the slogan “Red Bull gives you wings” to keep myself awake because I’m jet lagged but that’s not important! It’s working and that’s what’s important!

“Cyrus, you realize that stuff’s practically cocaine right?” Miranda asked as I took another sip from my drink. “Seriously, what the hell is keeping you from doing the promo whilst you’re rested? Honestly?”

“The fact that I want to get it done whilst I have ideas for the promo.” I answered as I took another sip from my drink. “Besides this is my first title shot since I joined SCW earlier this year and I want to make a good impression.”

“Yes, because nothing says “good impression” like drinking Red Bull in the middle of a promo!” Miranda responded as she shook her head. “I swear if I see you running down the halls half naked whilst screaming gibberish later I’m banning that drink from our home and hotel rooms!”

“Miranda, it’s Red Bull, not Bath Salts!” I responded with a smirk as I took another sip. “And whilst I’m not usually a big fan of this stuff it’s doing the job, isn’t it?”

“For now yes.” Miranda sighed before loading up YouTube on her Desktop. “If all else fails I’ll start playing your theme song at full volume.”

“That will just help me relax.” I pointed out and Miranda grinned.

“Fine, I’ll play “Baby” by Justin Bieber instead.” Miranda answered and I stared at her for a good few minutes.

“You realize that’s basically the music equivalent off torture, right?” I asked and Miranda grinned. “Besides, why the hell would I want to listen to some punk kid who looks exactly like Hawkes but instead of being a terrible wrestler he’s a terrible musician!?”

“That’s the point.” Miranda sighed before turning her attention back to the computer screen. “Well, you have a promo to conduct and I have a backup plan to prepare if the Red Bull fails, you know what to do!” Miranda added and I nodded in response before starting on my promo.

“Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas is right around the corner, there are several wrestlers on the upcoming December 2 Dismember Card who are looking to give themselves an early Christmas present by winning a title myself included and whilst the only guaranteed new champion on the card is the tag team champions that won’t stop me from winning this match and this title!”

This king will take his crown.

“First off I have to say something about the Metallica song you referenced, King Nothing? That’s easily one of Metallica’s worst songs but I guess in your mind it fits me best because of the fact that it’s such a terrible song! On another note the lyrics in the chorus contain the line “where’s your crown, King Nothing?” but unlike the king in that song I know where my crown is, it’s around your waist and this Sunday I will be crowned!”

That was easily my cheesiest line but screw it!

“I normally try to keep my LOW and SCW promos separate so that it doesn’t seem like I am a broken record, but in this case I’m breaking that rule because the situation in both promos is pretty much the same but for different reasons, my opponents are underestimating me, my LOW opponent Justice is underestimating me because of his obsession with the World Title whilst Jeremiah Hardin is underestimating me because I haven’t won a match in SCW yet! This week I will prove both of you wrong by winning!”

Such a pity that they won’t see it that way.

“Hardin, as you said we are both men of action and I proved that with my actions following the SCW Roulette Title Match a few weeks ago where you defeated Max Burke with my inadvertent help, the reason why I attacked you is simple, in fact there’s two reasons! Reason number one: to save face because I had just cost my ally the title! Reason number two: to make my intentions clear as day! I may be a former champion but not in this company but as far as I’m concerned this will change this Sunday at December 2 Dismember II!”

I took another sip from my red bull before continuing.

“There’s another similarity between this match and my LOW match, I know, it’s a small world after all, both of my opponents have referenced the fact that I have a catchphrase that’s simple and effective but you wonder why! To make it short and sweet, whilst I was in the indie scene I was conducting a promo and I said my current catchphrase on the fly and it’s stuck since then but honestly Hardin, if you’re going to focus on my catchphrase then you may as well get the nameplate changed for me!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Jeremiah, I mentioned my New Year’s Resolution last week and I am sticking to it through and through, and since you asked my thanksgiving was great, thanks most to the fact that my wife is a fantastic cook!” I added and Miranda grinned as she heard that. “Back to business, my new year’s resolution and my early Christmas Present to me will be winning that Roulette Championship whilst you bow down to the king!”

I turned to my laptop as the scene fades.

Supercard Archives / "BIG TIGER" JEREMIAH HARDIN (c) vs CYRUS KING
« on: November 29, 2013, 08:28:07 PM »
The challenge was set two weeks ago on Climax Control, Cyrus interrupted Jeremiah Hardin’s first promo as the new Roulette Champion and challenged him to a title match at SCW’s last Supercard of the year December to Dismember II and now the time has come, the title match has been booked and these old enemies where set to go one on one once again.

This is a big match for Cyrus as a man would not only mean his first win in SCW but his first title as a part of the company, he may have been the LOW US Champion when the SCW/ACW merger happened but that was another company’s title which he would end up losing to the former champion two weeks later, can Cyrus win?

At home with Cyrus’s relatives, Miami, Florida
November 28th 2013, 4:30pm

What am I thankful for?

A lot of things, my good health, my loving family, and my successful career as a wrestler, my beautiful and intelligent wife, and need I go on? Off course not! My point is, it’s Thanksgiving and I’m spending it the same way I did earlier this year on July 4th.

And true to form, I brought an SCW cameracrew along for the ride.

Miranda is helping my dad prepare Thanksgiving Dinner and considering how good a cook she is I wouldn’t have it any other way! So what am I up too? Well most people would just sit down and watch football whilst waiting for the food but I’m not most people, instead I’m sitting down and watching wrestling promos for December to Dismember II.

What can I say? I’ve never liked football to begin with!

“Promos from Steve Ramone, Jon Dough, those Orchid girls, Casey Williams and Necra Octavian Kane and yet not a single peep out of Hardin, this is karma for bringing the SCW cameracrew to Thanksgiving Dinner, isn’t it?” I muttered under my breath as I looked through the promos that had been sent in so far this week, the week was still young and it wasn’t as if I didn’t have any materiel for my promo to begin with but I’d still rather watch something that was relevant to my interests.

“It sounds like it’s been pretty quiet back in Newark.” Miranda commented and I nodded in response as she entered the room still wearing the apron from cooking dinner. “Dinner should be ready in a half hours’ time Cyrus.”

“Thanks Miranda.” I thanked her and she nodded. “Need my help with anything?”

“Getting tired of watching the same promos over and over again?” Miranda asked and I nodded. “You could always watch some LOW promos you know. They did release their next card earlier this week.”

“I checked, only one promo and it’s from James Hughes.” I responded and Miranda winced.

“Forget I asked.” Miranda sighed to herself. “We’re doing fine as far as drinks and snacks are concerned and the dogs are behaving themselves.”

“As much as a Labrador, a Springer Spaniel and an Alsatian Puppy can anyway.” I responded and Miranda nodded with a laugh. “We got enough dog food to satisfy those three?”

“Your dad brought a month’s worth of the stuff in advance trust me, the amount of dog food that we have is not an issue.” Miranda reassured me and I sighed in relief. “I have an idea.” Miranda added and I looked at her. “You brought the SCW cameracrew along, may as well put them to use before dinner’s ready.”

“You know what? That’s not a bad idea.” I responded before thinking for a few minutes and doing a quick check to see if any other promos had been sent in and aired, seeing that there weren’t any I nodded before turning off the TV. “I’m heading out into the garden so I won’t get interrupted so call me when dinner’s ready.”

“I was going to do that anyway.” Miranda responded before stepping aside to let me pass, I made my way through the house and into the garden stopping to stroke the dogs on the way and now that I’m alone where I (hopefully) won’t get distracted I started on my promo.

“Thanksgiving, traditionally it’s a time to be thankful, to spend time with family and to get fat thanks to delicious food! This year though I’m breaking tradition by conducting a promo on Thanksgiving, why? Why not? As I’m sure you know at the next Supercard I’m facing “Big Tiger” Jeremiah Hardin for the SCW Roulette Championship in Hardin’s first defense of that title, coincidentally it’ll also be his last defense of that title!”

It’ll be a gender flipped version of Jessie Salco’s reign with SCW Bombshell Roulette Championship really!

“Hardin, we’re both ex-military men looking to make a name for ourselves in the world of professional wrestling. That’s really what this whole match comes down to, in the battle of ex-military men turned wrestlers who is the best wrestler? Many would say that that was already determined back in ACW as Hardin beat me not once but twice, thing is Hardin is that you may have won the battle but the war is far from over!”

It’ll end when I win the SCW Roulette Championship!

“As you know I have yet to get a single win in SCW, I admit that, but imagine, just for a second, the boost my career in SCW will get when I not only win my first match but my first title in SCW in one full swoop? If you imagined me doing my best Scrooge McDuck impersonation then you’re not exactly far off the mark! I know Hardin wants to retain the title but as far as I’m concerned I’m ending 2013 as the SCW Roulette Champion!”

What’s that? I’m underestimating Hardin?

“Don’t think for a second that I’m underestimating my opponent in this match! I’ve fought Hardin before in ACW and I know how tough he is, I mean he withstood a two on one beating from me and Max Burke long enough to win that title in the first place! Which actually leads me into my next point but I’ll get to that in a minute, Hardin, you may be tough but I’m tougher!”

And now I move onto my next point.

“Do you want the cold, hard truth Hardin? If it weren’t for me Max Burke would still be Roulette Champion, if that Spear had hit it’s intended target then you would’ve been just another victim of my alliance with Max Burke but no, it backfired and as a result you won the SCW Roulette Championship with my help, unintentional help but help none the less, and with my help you’ll lose the SCW Roulette Championship as well!”

It’s that simple!

“Like it or not Hardin I’m speaking the truth! I have no plans on leaving Newark, Canada without that title around my waist and like it or not you won’t get a chance to defend your SCW Roulette Championship for the second time because for you there won’t be a second time! And as for the stipulation, I’ll compete in anything! Kennel from Hell, Special Guest Ref, even a match this is bound to get bloody like one of those old school Japanese Death Matches, yeah, you know what I’m talking about, doesn’t matter, I’ll compete in anything!”

And I’ll win in any match as well.

“The New Year is almost upon us and so is the end of SCW’s fiscal year, it has definitely been an eventful one to say the least! Erick Staggs’s failed takeover, the ACW merger, SCW and ACW leaving the NWA all together, it’s just been one Wham Episode after another! And I intend to end it with a bang! The SCW Roulette Championship is in my sights, I can practically smell the thing here in Miami, either that or it’s the Thanksgiving Dinner I’m smelling, and come year’s end I will hold my first title with this company!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Speaking of the New Year, traditionally around this time of year when people aren’t making Christmas Lists or getting ready for Thanksgiving Dinner like I am they usually come up with a New Year’s Resolution, lose weight, join the gym, be more proactive, get a girlfriend/boyfriend, those kinds of things! My New Year’s Resolution is one I’ll resolve a few weeks before the New Year starts, win the SCW Roulette Championship, Hardin, you have one simple Resolution to follow, bow down to the king!”

“Dinner’s ready!” Miranda’s voice rang out and I grinned before entering the house as the scene fades.

Cyrus wasn’t in action last week but he made his presence felt in a big way after being appointed the Special Guest Referee of the SCW Roulette Title Match between Max Burke and “Big Tiger” Jeremiah Hardin, despite the best efforts of both Burk and Cyrus Jeremiah won the match thanks to a botched attack by Cyrus and to make matters worse the now former Roulette Champion was abducted by the group of druids who had been a thorn in the side of the SCW roster since the Halloween Special several weeks ago.

In other words, it wasn’t a good time to be Cyrus King right now.

This week Cyrus was opening up the card with a match against the newcomer Aaron Matthews, a man who considers himself “Chicago’s Finest”, Cyrus has made it clear that he wants a shot at the Roulette Title and to make an impact he will have to defeat the newcomer in this match, can he do it?

I was just getting settled into my new home as well.

Ah well, SCW is a touring company so I guess it was a matter of time before it left Nevada again I just didn’t think it would be this soon but I digress, that isn’t why you’re here, you want to know my thoughts on my actions this past Sunday at Climax Control where I accidentally cost my ally the SCW Roulette Title resulting in his abduction.

My thoughts are this. I did what I was paid to do.

Was I told to help Max retain the title? Absolutely, did it work? Absolutely not, but I’ve already staked my claim to the next title shot and to gain momentum going into that potential match I need to win, and that brings me to my next SCW match against newcomer Aaron Matthews.

All I’m going to say is that the recent trend of newcomers losing their debut matches will continue with Matthews.

“So, any other calls from Mark?” Miranda asked as she approached me and I pinched the bridge of my nose in annoyance, ever since the Roulette Title Match I had been bombarded with calls from the co-owner of SCW almost as if he is actually taking time out of his schedule to chew me out, not that I can’t blame him.

“Yes and I’ll repeat what I said to him.” I responded as I put the phone down. “If I knew in advance that the druids would’ve showed up with their sights set on Max they wouldn’t have gotten one punch on him, I would’ve taken them all out.”

“You mean on your own?” Miranda asked and I nodded.

“That’s why they hide steel chairs under the ring.” I answered and Miranda nodded. “But obviously I didn’t and my error during the match was compounded by the fact that Max was abducted by those idiots.” I sighed as I folded my arms. “Mark wants me to go after them, assist Grimm and Goth any way I can, I want the Roulette Title.”

“Decisions, decisions, it’s a match of personal goals vs. orders from the boss.” Miranda answered with a frown. “Is there a way you can do both?”

“I’m thinking of that.” I answered with a frown. “If they want titles they’ll come after me when I win it from Hardin thinking that I’m an easy target, I’ll prove them wrong.” I added with a frown. “But first I have Aaron Matthews to worry about.”

“That’s easy enough, beat him and you’ll have momentum on your side no matter what happens.” Miranda pointed out and I nodded in response. “Aaron does have a few titles on his résumé but I haven’t heard of the fed he won them in.”

“Neither have I, probably not important.” I answered with a nod. “Still if he’s half as good as his résumé suggests then I’m in for a fight, a fight I can win but a fight!” I added and Miranda nodded in response. “Anything else you can think off?”

“Nope, I think the only thing that’s left for you to do is your promo against Matthews.” Miranda answered before pausing for a moment. “Anyway, I feel like having steak tonight but the hotel restaurant doesn’t serve any steaks.”

“There’s bound to be a few steakhouses in the area.” I pointed out and Miranda nodded before leaving the room presumably to use her laptop to find a place for us to eat at tonight, in the meantime I’m alone in my room with a camera crew so I have a promo to do. “I make to excuses over my mistake during the Roulette Title match, Hardin saw my spear coming, dodged it and I hit Burke instead ending his reign as champion but that leaves me with an open door to go after the belt myself, but first I have to beat Aaron Matthews.”

And I will.

“Recently there has been a bit of a trend in Sin City Wrestling, newcomers come in thinking that they are hot stuff only to lose their debut match, I’d say that I fell victim to this myself but that would suggest that I have an ego which I don’t, John Dough, Eric Steel, both of these men lost their debut matches in back to back weeks, you will continue that tradition Aaron.”

It’s that simple.

“You may have a good résumé but it is in a fed that I’ve never heard off and I’m assuming that it’s for good reason! You’re playing in the big leagues Aaron and reality is going to bite you hard when you step into the ring with me this week on Climax Control, you may think that you have a great SCW career ahead of you but I’m here to make sure that your career starts with a whimper rather than a bang!”

That I can guarantee.

“The truth is we both need a win in this company, you need it to make a good impression on the higher ups whilst I need to get some momentum going and make sure that my plans go as smoothly as they possibly can and unfortunately for you our paths will cross in this match and one of us will leave disappointed that they didn’t win, that person will be you.”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Aaron, you may be Chicago’s finest but I am Miami’s finest and we both know that Miami is a much better city than Chicago any day of the week! With that in mind I’ll take great pleasure in beating you in this match and winning for the first time in my SCW career, you on the other hand will do nothing but bow down to the king!”

I turned on my laptop as the scene fades.

Climax Control Archives / An old enemy and an old ally in the same match.

After several weeks of not being in action Cyrus King was in action this week on Climax Control, too say that it was a big match was a big understatement as he was facing two men that he knew very well from his brief time in ACW, his old ally Casey Williams and his old rival Jeremiah Hardin, on top of that the winner would get a shot at Max Burke’s SCW Roulette Championship, can Cyrus get his first win in SCW?

Cyrus’s home, Las Vegas, Nevada
October 30th, 2013, 9:00am

This could be problematic.

On one hand I have a chance to increase my stock here in SCW by being the next challenger to the SCW Roulette Championship, on the other hand the current champion is my ally Max Burke and my opponents are two men who I know very well from my ACW days, Casey Williams and “Big Tiger” Jeremiah Hardin, two men who I know for completely different reasons.

I don’t know what Mark Ward is thinking booking such a match but at this point I’d take anything if it meant getting my first win.

Casey, as you know, was one of three allies I had during my brief ACW career, the others being Dixon and Lukas, Jeremiah is the man who I had that unsuccessful best of three series against so in a way you could see this as me making up for past mistakes, the unclear intentions of my current allies aside off course.

At the moment I had finally started moving all off my stuff from my house in Miami to up here in Las Vegas, why did it take a couple of weeks? I have a lot of stuff and moving it takes time, add in the fact that I’m wrestling in two feds, both happen to have events going on this week, and I didn’t have time to get everything done at a normal pace.

“Cyrus, are you absolutely sure that’s everything?” Miranda’s voice rang out as she stepped into the room where I was setting up my computer. “And are you sure you don’t want me to set that up?”

“Miranda, you may be the tech expert of the house….” I trailed off as I set up the desktop. “But I like to do things myself sometimes, I know you built this thing for me so I understand your concern.”

“It wasn’t that I was worried about.” Miranda answered as she took a seat. “You’ve been traveling back and forth between Miami and Las Vegas for the past two days taking everything that belonged to you since we’re leaving that house to your sister and you haven’t gotten much sleep in between, are you sure you don’t want some rest?”

“I’ll rest as soon as I…” I trailed off before yawning. “….get this set-up and finish my promo for the match against Casey Williams and Jeremiah Hardin.” I finished before pausing.

“You can’t figure out where the last wire goes, can’t you?” Miranda asked and I nodded with a sigh of resignation before standing up and letting her finish. “I’m just saying if you had let me do it you’d be resting by now.” Miranda added before hitting the power button and sure enough the computer started booting up. “I know that look Cyrus; you have something on your mind about your next match.”

“Several things.” I corrected her as I took a seat and she stood up. “I’ve been allied with Ward and Burke for several weeks now and yet Mark puts me in a match where the winner will face Burke for the Roulette Championship, presumably at the next Supercard, and it’s against Casey Williams and Jeremiah Hardin to boot and we both know my history with those men.”

“Yeah, I know, still if you do win you’ll still get a shot at the title and who knows? Maybe Max will lose it before the next Supercard?” Miranda suggested before going to leave the room. “I’m off to make my breakfast, if you are awake before 12:00 I’ll make you some brunch.” Miranda added before leaving the computer room and heading to the kitchen, now that I have some time to myself it’s time to do my promo.

“It’s hard to believe that only a month ago ACW was brought by SCW talent included, but that’s exactly what happened and under two months later I find myself facing two men I know from ACW, Casey Williams, a man who I was allied with and Jeremiah Hardin, a man who I feuded with, for the Number One Contender to the SCW Roulette Championship, I have one goal in mind for this match and that’s’ to win at any cost so I may as well get started!”

First up is Hardin.

“One win for me, two victories for you, that’s how our feud over at ACW ended and who knows? Maybe it’ll continue here in SCW, either way I intend to tie the score and win my first match here in SCW, you may be planning something entirely different for all I know but I don’t care, as far as I’m concerned this is just a way to significantly increase my stock here in SCW and I’ll do it by winning this match!”

Next up is Casey.

“As for Casey, we were allies once back in ACW but I have no idea if our allegiance will carry over from ACW, that said as I already mentioned my goal in this match is to win it, simple as that, but with competitors the caliber of you two as my opponents I know it won’t be that simple for me! Either way I have no intention of losing this match!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Casey, Jeremiah, we’re all big men and this match is bound to be a hell of a brawl but in the end only one man will go on to compete against Max Burke in the near future, as far as I’m concerned that title shot practically has my name on it! As for you two, there’s only one thing that you have in your futures, bowing down to the king!”

I left the computer room and headed to the bedroom I shared with Miranda as the scene fades.

Climax Control Archives / An alliance as strong as steel

Whilst Cyrus wasn’t in action last night at Climax Control he still made a big impact by aligning himself with the reigning SCW Roulette Champion Max Burke and one half of the co-owners Mark Ward in there war against “The Man of the People” Drake Green.

But Cyrus wasn’t done with Drake.

This week on the last Climax Control of the Caribbean Tour emanating from Barbados Cyrus was taking on Drake Green in singles competition and Drake had Mark Ward’s old enemy Rage in his corner, can Cyrus get his first win?

Walking through the streets of Barbados
September 23rd, 2013, 11:00am

Ah Barbados, land of sun, sea, swimsuits and, as of this weekend, wrestling.

I’ve always wanted to visit this island and I’m not letting this opportunity slip through my fingers, it’s a beautiful island and so far the locals have been friendly towards me and Miranda who’s walking beside me whilst holding my hand.

This week’s match is currently on my mind though and who can blame me? Drake Green has been a house of fire since his SCW Debut a few months ago and I get to have a chance to defeat him, Rage may be in his corner but I’m not stupid, I’ve done my homework and I know that Drake and Rage get along as well as oil and water, that fact will play in my favor!

“Are you sure that restaurant’s around here Cyrus?” Miranda asked breaking my train of thought; she had found a nearby restaurant whilst I was waiting for the cameracrew to arrive, so why am I out here and not in my hotel room?

Miranda insisted.

“You tell me, you where the one who found the place!” I responded and Miranda checked her IPad for directions to the restaurant. “So, next week the promo period for High Stakes 3 starts, have you arranged our transport to Las Vegas?”

“Did it last night, it’s all paid for.” Miranda responded as she glanced up at me. “We’ll be leaving Barbados for the city of sin the day after Climax Control and we’ll be coming back Saturday, figured we could use the rest of the week to get acquainted with the local area.”

“That sounds like a good idea.” I responded before getting an idea. “Give me your IPad, I’m going to ask a local if they can help.” I told her and Miranda nodded before handing it over, I stopped a passing couple as I ran up to them. “Excuse me, me and my wife over there are trying to find this restaurant, can you help us?”

“Yes, go back the way you came, turn left and follow the street, you can’t miss it.” The male responded and I nodded in response. “It’s a good restaurant, enjoy yourself.”

“Thanks.” I responded and the couple smiled before walking off, I turned to my wife just in time to see a local snatch her purse off of her. “HEY!” I called out to him before taking off after him with the SCW Cameracrew following close behind, the guy’s a lot shorter than me and definitely has a speed advantage over me, however I can tell that his stamina is practically non-existent and that proves to be his downfall as I tackle him to the ground as he stops to catch his breath. “What’s the big idea huh? Figured she’d be an easy target because she’s a tourist?”

“Screw you man!” The would-be thief said before he tried to draw a gun on me, tried being the operative word because I secured his arm the moment I saw where his hand was going.

“Somebody call the cops, this guy just tried to steal my wife’s handbag.” I called out to the nearby locals and one of them did just that, minutes later the cops arrived and arrested the punk. “I don’t know what the gun laws over here are like but he had a concealed gun on him as well.” I told a cop as I finished my statement to the police, he nodded before indicating that they had already secured the gun and let me go soon afterworld, I gave Miranda a call on my cell-phone. “Hey Miranda, I got your purse back.”

“Cyrus, I know you have military training and all but I was worried, what if he was armed.” Miranda responded and I shook my head.

“He was armed, secured his arm before he could even reach for it.” I responded and Miranda sighed in relief. “Where are you? I still have your IPad.”

“Back where you left me.” Miranda responded and I nodded. “I heard the directions that couple gave you so how about we meet at the restaurant? I’ll even pay for the meal as extra thanks.”

“Sounds good, I have a promo to do anyway.” I added before hanging up, once I confirmed that Miranda’s money was still in the purse I started walking towards the restaurant as I trash talked Drake. “These past few weeks I’ve had one goal in mind, make allies in SCW, I had no intention of being lost in the shuffle like most of the former ACW Roster members and when I was approached by Mark Ward and Max Burke I jumped at the chance! You may say that I am just repeating my ACW career by aligning with the boss on my second appearance with the company but you’d be wrong, for starters I’ve had three appearances on Climax Control up until this point and secondly it wasn’t just some lower card match that I interfered in this time, it was the Main Event and I got involved after the match, this week I’m facing the man who I’ve had many battles against outside of the ring and the man who I was originally planning to screw out of a victory, Drake Green!”

Yes, you heard me right.

“When Drew was taken out I was ready to go in there and help Damien get the win but Mark stopped me, told me to wait until after the match so that I could make a real impact, you can see the results for yourself, I ‘m now facing Drake Green in a match that features another one of Mark’s enemies by the name of Rage as Drake’s corner man, but I’m not stupid, I know that Rage and Drake have had issues in the past and that will be to my advantage.”

And Drake’s obvious disadvantage.

“From what I’ve heard they are billing this match as “The Man of the People vs. The King” for obvious reasons but here’s the thing Drake, when I look at you I don’t see The Man of the People, I see a walking cliché, every week that you compete in a match you pander to the audience, all those cheap pops, all those screaming fans, it makes me sick to my stomach.”

I said as I shook my head.

“I can’t even begin to count how many variations of the same character we’ve seen in wrestling over the years Green, all we need to do is give you a shirt that’s easy to tear and have you start talking about saying prayers and eating vitamins and we’ll have a massive Hulk Hogan rip off on our hands! There’s nothing original about you Drake, you only get by on the fact that you are a damn good wrestler.”

But not even that can save him.

“Drake, sooner or later you’ll realize just how fickle wrestling fans are, I could probably start doing your stich for a few weeks and suddenly I’d be getting the cheers and I’d be the Man of the People, but I don’t need to do any of that! I’m already a true man of the people, I don’t need any gimmicks, I don’t need any stupid catchphrases outside of the one I use to end promos, I’m just a guy who goes out there and kicks ass for a living and I’m damn good at that, if it weren’t for Hawkes surprising me with that roll-up it would’ve been up in the air about whether or not he was fit to compete for the Tag Titles at High Stakes III but you? You won’t be so lucky. You will be defeated by me!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Drake, whilst we’ve had our conflicts whilst in ACW we never competed in a match against each other and this will be our first encounter in the ring, I intend to get on a plane to Trinidad with a win over you under my belt and there’s nothing you can do to stop me, my alliance with Max and Mark is as strong as steel, you are a cliché as old as wood and you already bowed down once before but you will bow down to the king again!”

I entered the restaurant as the scene fades.

Character Building Roleplays / This has been an interesting two weeks.
« on: September 14, 2013, 09:23:28 PM »
Things have been pretty interesting for Cyrus King as of late, it was announced that ACW was merged into its sister fed SCW at the last show and now Cyrus is on the SCW roster which is currently touring the Caribbean, that wasn’t all though as he lost his match against Joker at SuperNova but he wasn’t done with Joker, not by a long shot.

This week he was in the Main Event again taking on Andre Jones and The Joker in a Triple Threat match, Cyrus hasn’t won a match since winning the LOW US Championship from Lasher and if he wanted to be taken seriously by the other wrestlers in LOW Cyrus would have to turn his fortunes around, can Cyrus win the match?

Brandywine Estate Restaurant, Tortola, the British Virgin Islands
September 14th, 2013, 6:00pm

My past two weeks have been….interesting to say the least.

You may remember that Miranda said that JJ Dixon had ordered all active ACW roster members to attend last week’s SCW Climax Control from St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands but the reason was soon made clear to me and the rest of the ACW roster, JJ Dixon had bet ACW on a poker game involving SCW’s co-owner Mark Ward and lost, let that sink in for a second.

If you aren’t banging your head against the nearest hard surface then give it a few minutes, you soon will be.

My SCW debut match is tomorrow and immediately after that show I’ll be flying back to America to get ready for my match against Andre Jones and The Joker in the Main Event of this week’s LOW SuperNova where I’m hoping to change my recent fortunes in LOW, I lost my last match against the Joker and if I’m going to be taken seriously by the LOW roster I have to start winning!

At the moment I’m a restaurant on Tortola, the location of next week’s Climax Control where I was taking on one half of the SCW Tag Team Champions James Huntington Hawkes the III who is quite possibly the most pathetic excuse for a champion I’ve met, it’s a No Holds Barred Street fight which I set up to at least give an opponent who’s nowhere near my weight class a chance, so why am I in a restaurant and not preparing for either of these matches?

Am I not allowed to have a romantic evening out with my wife for some reason?

We have just arrives at the restaurant and are busy trying to decide just what to eat, I’m a big eater; especially before a wrestling match but the problem is what to choose from?

“Well, I’ve made my choice.” Miranda decided as she set her menu down and the waitress nodded as she jotted it down. “I’m having a Honey Roasted Carrot Soup for a starter with a Lamb Shank for the main.”

“That does look good.” I commented with a nod as I looked over the menu. “Okay, for a starter I’ll have a beef tarter and a fillet mignon for the main.” I decided as I handed the waitress my menu and Miranda did likewise, the waitress walked off and I shook my head. “If you had told me two weeks ago that I’d be here on this beautiful island getting ready for my SCW debut I would’ve called you crazy.”

“I know, right?” Miranda nodded in agreement as she took a sip from her wine. “Then again we didn’t exactly count on JJ Dixon losing ACW in a poker game to Mark Ward.”

“I don’t think anyone was counting on that because they didn’t think Dixon was that stupid.” I pointed out and Miranda nodded. “Not even I saw that coming and I was working with the man on the shows.”

“Steve Ramone had a point, if Dixon had lost it to a promoter not as good as Mark then Dixon would’ve pulled a Jimmy Hoffa by now.” Miranda agreed and I shook my head. “Did you get the e-mail I forwarded to you about LOW’s newest card?”

“Yeah, first thing I read this morning.” I responded as I took a sip from my drink. “I’m facing Joker again alongside a new opponent in Andre Jones, an English native who is billed from Seattle, Washington.”

“Isn’t he the guy who calls himself “The Savior” or something like that?” Miranda asked and I nodded. “And he’s apparently a good guy whilst you, a bad guy, are a lot more humble than him.”

“I’m a lot more humble then a lot of wrestlers but that’s beside the point.” I responded as I shook my head. “I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again, I’ve never needed any nicknames I just let my actions in the ring speak volumes about me, not my fault that the majority of fans don’t like me.”

“Considering how brutally you took out Beast Boy in your LOW debut or how you basically tricked a 155ibs soaking wet teenager into a match against you?” Miranda asked and I just smirked at that. “Yeah I know, Hawkes has it coming and the only reason he’s been champ this long is because Gianni’s doing all the work.”

“Tell me about it, I may talk to Lukas about reforming the Lords of the Dark in SCW and taking the Tag Team Division by storm, provided he makes the jump.” I responded with a frown. “If not then I’ll focus on making new allies amongst SCW’s roster, Jessie Salco’s step-brother Jake would be a good place to start, and he served in Iraq like I did.”

“He’s a non-wrestler though and his only match was against that Burnside thug.” Miranda pointed out with a frown. “My opinion is that you should focus on the active roster as far as allies are concerned.”

“That’s true, I may have done well on my own in LOW but SCW has a much bigger roster than LOW especially after the merger, if I want to stand out over there I need allies and fast.” I responded with a frown, our starters arrived soon afterworlds and once we finished our delicious starters I stood up. “I’m heading outside to conduct my LOW promo, I doubt our mains will be done for some time but if they are send one of the waitresses after me, I’ll just be outside.” I added and Miranda nodded before I left the restaurant, I moved out of the way of the entrance as I started my promo. “I don’t have time to mess around, this week I have a huge Triple Threat Match against Andre Jones and the Joker so let’s get started!”

Since he was my last opponent I’ll start with Joker.

“Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me! Joker you got the best of me last week at SuperNova by catching me by surprise with your Joker Driver finisher but I never fall for the same trick twice, I’ll beat you and win the match one way or another and there are no tricks that you can pull against me that will change that!”

Next up is Andre Jones.

“Now onto our so called Savior, apparently being a second generation wrestler is enough to call you someone’s savior, who knew? Seriously Andre, you may have the talent to back up your little claim but until you prove otherwise I don’t think you’ll be anyone’s savior let alone the winner of this match, in fact you’ll be begging for salvation after I am through with you!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Joker, Andre, I have one goal going into this match and that goal is as simple as it gets, to win! Last week I said that I wanted to be a fighting champion and I meant it but in order to be taken seriously by the masses at large I’ll need to start winning matches and that starts at SuperNova whilst you two will bow down to the king!”

I returned to the restaurant as the scene fades.

Climax Control Archives / The brat prince will bow to the king!
« on: September 09, 2013, 07:52:21 AM »
At Climax Control it was made official, amongst rumors and speculation Mark Ward officially announced that he had brought out SCW’s Sister Fed ACW and its roster.

And one member of the roster couldn’t wait to make an impact.

Cyrus King, a man who had been working with JJ Dixon up until ACW’s purchase, tricked a frustrated James Huntington Hawkes the III into challenging him to a No Holds Barred Street fight next week on Climax Control, the time has come and now the two men would meet with James’s tag team partner and fellow tag team champion Gianni Di Luca and his bodyguard Simpson accompanying Hawkes to ringside, can Cyrus win?

Well according to nearly every bookie in Las Vegas, the answer was a resounding yes!

Cyrus’s hotel room, Cane Garden Bay Tortola
September 9th, 2013, 11:00am

Sometimes to get noticed you need to make yourself heard, no one’s going to pay attention to the kid twiddling his thumbs in the corner after all.

So when it was announced that ACW had been brought by SCW I set out to do just that, I didn’t care who it was as long as they were a current, male roster member and preferably a title holder so that I could challenge them to a match, so why did I go after James Huntington Hawkes the III and not someone like Max Burke or Goth?

His ego gave me an extra reason to want to face him in a match.

Hawkes may be one half of the SCW Tag Team Champions alongside Gianni Di Luca but I’m no fool, I was watching SCW long before I got the offer to join ACW, I even attended last year’s Summer XXXTreme Cruise to see if this was the fed for me.

I decided against it in the end but low and behold, one year later and I’m on the SCW Roster.

“How goes the house hunting?” I asked Miranda as I glanced up, Miranda, having just sold our apartment in Nova Scotia to help pay for our new home in Las Vegas, looked up with a grin on her face.

“I was able to find a big house in the residential areas not far from the strip.” Miranda responded as she showed me the picture on her IPad. “Price is pretty reasonable for Las Vegas and if we hurry we can get it locked down and move in by the end of the year.”

“And if you aren’t able to get that house?” I asked and Miranda’s grin grew a bit.

“I have some back-up plans in case that falls through for one reason or another.” Miranda responded as she showed me the pictures of the other houses. “Either way we should have a home in Vegas by the end of this tour.”

“This whole situation has thrown us through a loop in general though.” I pointed out and Miranda nodded in agreement. “I thought ACW was doing well, they were going on tour after all so the merger did catch me off guard.”

“According to who I talked to Dixon was spending way too much to try to get ACW on the road.” Miranda responded as she checked the time on her watch. “It may have been doing well for a while but Dixon’s spending had gotten to the point where it was either ACW gets brought by SCW or ACW goes bankrupt.”

“Lesser of two evils.” I responded and Miranda nodded in response. “Do you have Hawkes’s bio for me?”

“Yeah, it’s on your laptop.” Miranda responded and I booted it up. “Still can’t believe how easily you tricked him into accepting that match.”

“He is an egotistical brat who got caught with his foot in his mouth for the hundredth time this year, I’m still convinced that Gianni is the only reason why they are still champions.” I responded with a frown as I logged in. “I won’t soften Hawkes up too much for Sinful Obsession, which sounds more like a Death Metal band’s name than a tag team name but I digress, but I will kick Hawkes’s ass so hard that he won’t be able to sit down for the rest of the month.”

“Don’t forget that Hawkes has his tag team partner Gianni and his bodyguard Simpson in his corner and all you’ve got is me.” Miranda responded with a frown. “What will you do about them?”

“If they stay out of the match I won’t bother them.” I responded with a frown. “If they interfere they’ll regret it, it’s that simple.”

“And if by some miracle Hawkes actually manages to beat you?” Miranda responded and I frowned.

“Well I’ll probably piss off everyone in Vegas who betted against Hawkes winning the match…..which I’m pretty sure IS everyone in Vegas……but if he beats me I’ll accept it.” I responded with a nod. “I doubt Sinful Obsession will get involved as they have that tag team match against The Flying Jets just before my match against Hawkes, I’m pretty sure they’ll be too tired from that match to run interference.”

“I’m still convinced Jeremy and Jason stole that name from a circus act but that’s beside the point.” Miranda responded as she turned off her IPad. “I’m heading down for breakfast and after that I’ll book us next year’s Bloodstock tickets, still can’t believe you want to go to a festival.”

“I saw the footage from this year’s Bloodstock and despite the technical issues it looked like a great metal festival so yes, I do want to attend.” I responded and Miranda nodded before leaving, now that I have some time to myself I decided to address Hawkes. “For those of you who don’t watch ACW or LOW my name is Cyrus King, for two years of my life I served in the US Army continuing my family’s proud tradition of military service and now, because of the ACW/SCW Merger I find myself in Sin City Wrestling and my debut match is one I set up myself, against James Huntington Hawkes the III.”

This will be quick.

“I want to make one thing absolutely clear before I move on with this promo, when I tricked Hawkes into challenging me to a No Holds Barred Street Fight last week on my first ever Climax Control I did it with no malicious intent intended, I was out to make myself noticed, to make as big an impact as possible upon my SCW debut and whilst Goth and Max Burke where busy with their own stuff I overheard Hawkes sticking his foot in his mouth and I jumped at the chance to put him in his place.”

It’s that simple.

“Hawkes, you may be one half of the SCW Tag Team Champions but it’s clear to me that Gianni has been carrying your team to victory every step of the way, I’m sure you two take exception to that but quite frankly I don’t care.” I said as I hoisted up my title. “As you can see I’m a champion myself, the LOW US Champion to be precise and I can tell you from firsthand experience that the competition in LOW is very stiff! I had to win a Three Stages of Hell match that featured a Table match, a Submissions match and, incidentally, a No Holds Barred match just to become the number one contender to this title, what chance do you think you have Hawkes?”

Not a very good chance.

“I saw that Mark put your tag team partner and your bodyguard in your corner to help even the odds a bit so I’ll just say this now, stay out of the match and we won’t have a problem, interfere in the match and we’ll have a problem, do we understand each other or do I have to spell it out for you? The only thing you’ll get out of any attempted interference in the match is an ass kicking but if you two are smart and stay out of it then your team may just stand a chance against Sinful Obsession at the next PPV.”

Somehow I doubt they’ll heed my warning.

“I’m not some naïve newcomer on the scene Hawkes, I watched SCW before I joined ACW and eventually SCW and I am well acquainted with your career here in SCW, for the majority of it you where the SCW Roster’s punching bag, everyone beat you to the point where there was even a Put Hawkes Back on TV petition, for the record I signed that petition just so you could get your ass kicked some more, and then, out of the blue, you win the SCW Roulette Championship and suddenly your actually winning matches, your still SCW’s Punching Bag but your punching back, unfortunately for you I will be the next one you punch!”

And you will break you hand punching me.

“Going into this match I have nothing to lose and everything to gain from winning this match whilst you are the exact opposite, you need this win so that you have momentum going into your next title defense against Sinful Obsession at the next PPV but I’m afraid to tell you that your momentum will come to a screeching halt once I pin you.”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Hawkes, this isn’t personal for me, this is just business, I want to start my SCW career with a bang rather than a whimper and you are the one who’s standing in my way this Sunday at Climax Control, Hawkes you may be the Brat Prince of SCW but I am the king of SCW and you will bow down to the king!”

I turned to my laptop as the scene fades.

Last week’s SuperNova ended in a Six Man Tag Team Match between the teams of Lasher, James Hughes and Mike Parr and The Joker, Cyrus King and Andre Jones, how did the match end?

Utter chaos.

Partners turned on their partners and started brawling with each other and whilst Cyrus was able to hit Lasher with the Bow Down to the King it was Andre Jones who had the last laugh as he locked Cyrus in his Code Blue finisher, not a good start for the new LOW US Champion.

And this week he had a chance to turn his fortunes around as Cyrus was taking on The Joker in a Champion vs. Champion non-title match, The Joker was taken out before Cyrus was by way of Eyes’s Don’t See You Finisher on the outside before he was taken out by a double team effort by Cyrus and Lasher, can Cyrus win his first singles match as champion?

What can I say? These past two weeks have been going up and down like a yo-yo for me.

What do I mean? Well I won the US Title at Hungry 4 Gold yet I lost the Ladder Match to the very man who I beat for the title, fate has a funny sense of humor sometimes, and then there’s last week’s disaster of a Main Event which basically went from a Six Man Tag that featured the three new champions crowned at Hungry 4 Gold, me, The Joker and Andre Jones, and the three men we beat, Lasher, Mike Parr and James Hughes, into an all-out brawl.

But what do you expect when you put three enemies in the same team?

This week I get to face off against one of the men I teamed up with last week, The Joker, in a Champion vs. Champion match where neither of our titles are on the line, that’s fine by me because I want to have a nice long reign with this belt.

“Cyrus, you got a sec?” Miranda asked as she walked up to me, I looked up and nodded. “I just got this e-mail from Dixon.”

“He’s my boss at ACW and he liaisons with you for all business transactions regarding my employment.” I answered with a frown. “What is it about?”

“Well as we both know ACW’s next show is in Montreal.” Miranda responded and I nodded, I wasn’t on that card but I still planned to attend that show. “But Dixon wants everyone on the ACW Roster in attendance for SCW’s next Climax Control.” Miranda added and I blinked, Sin City Wrestling was ACW’s sister fed and they were in the middle of a big Caribbean Tour with their latest show being in St. Thomas on the Virgin Islands.

“Wait, he wants us to drop everything and go to SCW’s show which is in the Caribbean?” I asked and Miranda nodded. “Did he say why?”

“No, all he said that it was going to be explained at Climax Control.” Miranda added and I frowned, it wasn’t like Dixon to be this secretive. “I’ve already booked our plane tickets to St. Thomas; we’ll be leaving tomorrow morning.”

“Good thing I was planning to do my LOW promo today then.” I responded with a frown. “Flying to the Caribbean will give me some serious jet lag and well, I’d be in no shape to do a promo.”

“Didn’t you once do a promo whilst you were shitfaced?” Miranda asked and I face palmed.

“I thought we agreed that we were never going to speak of that again.” I said as I pinched the bridge of my nose. “Do me a favor and send me SCW’s male roster on an e-mail, I have a feeling that this isn’t just the boss treating us.”

“I was thinking the same thing.” Miranda responded with a nod. “I’ll send the e-mail whilst you work on your promo against The Joker, oh and Champ? Be sure to hold on to that title for a long time.”

“They’d have to pry it from my cold, dead fingers.” I responded as Miranda left the room, now that I was alone I grinned as I held up my title. “Two weeks ago I earned the honor to call myself the LOW US Champion but for me it was more than just a title win, this is my first ever championship reign and I couldn’t be happier to hold it, unfortunately last week’s Main Event has put a damper on my good mood.”

I said with a frown.

“My first Main Event as part of LOW and what happens? All out chaos, this week I get a chance at an actual main event where I’m taking on one of the men who I teamed up with last week in a Champion vs. Champion non-title match, I have nothing more to say about last week’s main event as that wasn’t even a true match, it basically dissolved into an all-out brawl between supposed partners and you could argue that I was the only one trying to maintain some kind of cohesion with my tag team partners, lot of good that did me!”

But I digress.

“Joker, at Hungry 4 Gold we both walked out with championships to our names, the US Title for me and the X-Factor title for you and I have no intention of letting my first match as a champion end in defeat, you may have beaten me once but as far as I’m concerned once is enough and history won’t repeat itself!”

It’s as simple as that.

“That said I plan on doing this title proud, I will be a fighting champion and I will take on all comers who challenge me for this belt! It doesn’t matter if your Beast Boy or Kevin Durant because I will put this title on the line against anyone in this company if it means that I get to be a fighting champion! When I was in the military I fought for the US and did my country proud and now that I have the US Title I will fight for it and do it proud as well and if that means that I have to fight through a fellow champion for my first win as champion then I will do just that!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“My new championship title opens up a new chapter in my life as a wrestler as I will fight for this title as I’ve already said, Joker despite your anti-social tendencies your still a good wrestler but I will not and cannot let you win this match and in the end you will bow down to the king!”

I turned to my laptop as the scene fades.
