Running was something Mikah was good at but it wasn't something she'd always been good at.  She had to work herself up to a mile and then so on but now she was a pro at it.  What she wasn't a pro at, was not making her boyfriend a ticking time bomb.  Of course, it didn't help that she purposely jabbed at him so he'd get mad so she could go on a 4th run of the day without having to answer any of his stupid, annoying questions that he sometimes liked to ask when she went on a run.  Like, when was the last time you ate?  Or when was the last time you took a nap?  Or how much sleep did you get last night?  See, stupid questions.  And that was the case last night.

She kept poking and poking at him on Twitter to get him to get mad at her and it worked but it also made her irritated with him at the same time.  So she went on her run, that lasted for two and a half hours before she returned, showered, and then climbed into bed with Leighton, snuggling up with her daughter for the entire night.  She didn't want to face Gavin, so instead she spent the night in her nine year old daughter's queen sized bed.

And here she was finishing up the first run of the day around 10 am, having already been out for two and a half hours.  She didn't know if Gavin was up or if he was sleeping and she didn't know if she cared just yet.  She shivered as she started to walk up the sidewalk that would lead to her front door.  She knew better than to run in the freezing cold but that didn't stop her, not one bit.

She pushed the door open to the house to see her Alaskan Klee Kaii puppy, Dexter running toward her.  She smiled and squatted down and scratched him behind the ears before kissing the top of the puppy's head.  She glanced into the living room to see her nine year old little girl sitting on the couch, watching How to Train Your Dragon 2 for only the 100th time that week.

;;Mikah  â€œI'm going to take a shower, Leighton then we can go get lunch somewhere.  Would you like that?”

Leighton's head turned in the direction of her mother's voice and she nodded her head, as she tried to both look at her mother and watch the television screen.

    !!Leighton  â€œOkay, mom.”

Mikah smiled before jogging up the stairs, Dexter trailing behind her as he pounced up the stairs.  She knew that Gavin would be sleeping still as she had read about his little bar outing with one Andrew Watts.  And she frankly didn't care about the trouble he could have gotten into.  She walks into the bedroom, shutting Dexter out before walking into her huge walk-in closet.  She looked at the rows and rows of clothes that were hanging in her closet that were sorted by seasons and then into colors.  She walked over to the winter area and pulled out a pair of grey and white nordic like printed leggings before grabbing a heather gray sweater to pair with it.

She grabbed a clean bra and the matching panties to go with it before walking out of the closet to see Gavin sleeping in the middle of the bed, in what appeared to be a face-down position.  She rolled her eyes to herself before walking into the master bathroom to take a shower.  She clicked the door shut behind her before setting her clothes on the counter in the bathroom to start her huge shower.

    3 HOURS LATER

Mikah and Leighton walked back into the house after spending a small portion of the late morning and early afternoon in the heart of the city.  They ate at a little bistro that they enjoyed and by ate, Mikah mainly pushed things around on her plate and ate her salad.  Then they grabbed a sandwich with a bag of chips and a drink for Gavin before they went on a little shopping spree.  Mikah watched as her daughter skipped away happily and Mikah just shook her head before walking into the kitchen to put Gavin's sandwich in the fridge along with his drinks.

She almost didn't get him anything but Leighton had asked if they should.   Mikah smiled at the thought of her own daughter being more compassionate than her mother and she was so distracted by the thought that she ran straight into Gavin as he stood in the kitchen, shirtless drinking a bottle of water.  She took a few steps backwards before looking at him, blinking a few times as if it was such a surprise to see him standing in the kitchen.

However, she didn't say anything but thrust the sandwich into his chest so that he would grab it before she turned to go to the other room.  If anything was ever wrong between them or they were in a fight, she ignored and avoided, effectively giving him the silent treatment.  She didn't know if it worked or not because she didn't keep track.  She watched as he looked down at the sandwich before looking at her and raising an eyebrow in her direction.

::Gavin  â€œContracts are here.  They faxed them over about an hour ago.  I signed mine, just waiting for you to sign yours so we can fax them back.”

Mikah nodded her head, understanding what he was saying and then she watched as he pointed to the table, indicating that the papers were there.  She ran a hand through her straight blonde locks before walking over to the table and taking a seat to read the contract.  She hums softly to herself as her eyes look over the document.  She wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be a complete waste of her time like the last place her and Gavin were employed and that would only be considered a joke.

She grabbed the same ink pen that Gavin had used and signed her name on the dashed line.  She then set the pen down and got up to leave the room, the silence lingering between the two.  Well, her silence as Gavin had spoke to her about the contracts.  She couldn't tell if he was still mad or not but she was going to stay silent for the time being.  She went to walk out of the kitchen but he grabbed her upper arm to stop her.  She looked up at him as if to say what but she didn't let the words slip out.
