Lions and Housecats

Vincent Lyons Jr was growing tired of loss after loss. It wasn't for a lack of trying, so was he perhaps not good enough? Why couldn't he pick up any victories in weeks and why couldn't he beat Jayden Harris? Even worse than all his losses he was bringing his sister down with him, she had been suffering her worst run in a while.

Something needed to change because if there's one thing Vincent Lyons Junior knew he wasn't, it was a loser. He was the one that was chosen first  when the Lyons Den started its new generation all those years ago and he had won all those championships way back when he and Victoria were in World Wrestling Headquarters.

But now if the steaks felt higher, Sin City wrestling was no World Wrestling headquarters the competition was tougher and everybody just seem to hit a little bit harder.

Something in Vincent Lyons Jr needed to change perhaps he needed to be more vicious more ruthless.

Whatever it was he was going to find it so at Summer Xxxtreme he could put an end to Jayden Harris once and for all.[/i]

He and Victoria had spent most of the day cleaning up the old greenhouse, though Victoria had wanted to keep the dead decaying flowers. She seemed to find some sort of charm in them. She wanted this place to be some sort of new base of operations for them, and who was he to argue? All he was really concerned about was Jayden Harris and the Summer XXXtreme match in the Lyons den.

He looked over to her as her gaze was on a small patch of dead orchids, and she caught his glance.

“Everything go okay over there little brother.” she asked.

“Yes. I'm fine.” Vincent replied “Sorry this whole Jayden situation, need to handle it and I will I just need some air.”

Before waiting on a reply he walked down the pathways and left the greenhouse finding a nice comfortable bench to sit on in front of it to do some thinking about his own future.

What started as him simply defending his sister's honor had turned into a full on war, a war that Vincent had yet to win a battle in.

He had won some fights and left Jayden laid out cold, but he had yet to get his name called as the winner of an official match.

That needed to change, and that would change at Summer Xxxtreme onboard the Princess Cruise.

He had his own concerns about the ship, the last time he was on a boat things didn't go so well. But Victoria reminded him that the Princess Cruise was not some little dingy boat. The chances of this cruise ship crashing were slim and even if it did there would be actual professional safety measures in place.

He exhaled heavily and looked toward the greenhouse. Victoria was still in there somewhere probably rummaging through her own thoughts about what she had going on with Kate Steele and Young Justice, Harper Mason in particular.

She would overcome she always did, whatever bumps she might face along the way, she always came out still Bombshell Roulette champion when it was all said and done.

As much as he would tell Jayden he wasn't concerned about the Championships, he knew deep down that he did want one himself. It didn't even need to be the World Championship or the Internet Championship for that matter,  honestly becoming the Roulette Champion of the male division and standing alongside Victoria as twin roulette champions would feel something like a dream come true, or even better perhaps Christian Underwood and Mark Ward would finally figure out something for the Mixed tag titles and he could help her win those back and stand beside her as her proper tag team partner, one that wouldn't fail her like Eddie had.

But first he had to take out Jayden Harris he couldn't focus on anything else until this war with Jayden was done, then he could figure out how he can stand alongside his sister as a champion.

God he hated that Jayden Harris.

A gruff exhale exited his lips has he heard his sister's voice

“Hey Vin, you get enough air?” she said

He turned to look at her.

“Oh hey Vic yeah I'm fine.” he told her.

She looked at him and it was a look as though she didn't quite believe him.

“You sure about that? You left kind of hastily.” she said.

Vincent exhaled heavily.

“I just don't know if I could take another loss to Jayden.” he told her “I need to win that Summer Xxxtreme match. I made it our match our family specialty and if I lose this time does that mean Jayden Harris is right?”

She looked at him her eyebrows furrowed an expression of disapproval.

“Don't you even talk like that.” she said “Remember you're already winning the bigger game against Jayden, and he doesn't even realize it you're in his head and the thought of you drives him crazy and that is your true victory.”

“He covered us in shit.” Vincent told her as though she didn't remember.

The expression on her face and the quiver of her lip told Vincent that she did in fact remember that exact moment.

“He did.” she said with a heavy exhale and a nod “But he did it because he had to because he has nothing left so he had to become Johnny Knoxville, because Jayden Harris is nothing more than a jackass.”

She was right and he knew it but he still wanted to have his name etched has the victor but she continued to remind him to not let losses get to him just as she wasn't letting those get to hers and suggested that perhaps his match with Felix Hernandez should be his warm up so he can let out whatever he needs to and then have his full focus on Jayden.

He suggested that they could crash Eddies wedding for fun, but Victoria reminded him that that would just be another distraction and that they likely weren't wanted anyway because Eddie who was their family didn't even send them a personal invite, only lumping them in with that invite on X that he sent to the entire roster.

He had to win against Jayden and he needed no distractions he would win this one he would this was the one he needed to win and that's exactly what he would do but for now something his sister said did well to make even him feel like a kid again.

“Come on let's go back to the house, mom said she was going to make her chocolate chip cookies.” Victoria said.

Those were his absolute favorite and he loved his mother dearly, he followed Victoria along the pathways they drifted back to the main house where he could already smell the scent of the cookies in the air.

__________

Vincent pushed into the kitchen just ahead of Victoria as their mother greeted them.

“There's my sweet little angels.” she said “I knew the two of you would turn up for the cookie sooner or later some things never change.”

“Thanks!” they both said in unison.

Vincent swooped a cookie quickly and gleefully.

“Oh you put extra chocolate chips in them this time.” he said “You're the best mom ever.”

“Well you are my sweet little boy.” she replied with a smile as he bit into his cookie and then he was transported somewhere else, to another time in his life.

A young Vincent sat in the kitchen with his mom enjoying one of her delicious chocolate chip cookies that he had always loved so much.

“Thanks for the cookie mom!” he said “Delicious as always!”

“Well thank you Vincent.” she said “You're so sweet, so you ready for 6th grade?”

“Yeah.” he said “It's going to be exciting did you hear Victoria made leadership?”

“I did, and I'm extremely proud of her she's always been a great leader.” his mother said.

“Yeah she has.” Vincent agreed.

“But don't forget, she's going to need you.” his mother said looking him in the eyes.

“Me?” Vincent asked.

“Yes you.” his mother said “You are her brother, you need to make sure no one will cause her harm or bring her any ill will. You need to be her protector.”

“I would never let anybody harm Victoria.” Vincent said.

“Nor should you.” his mother continued. “You need to always be there beside her. You need to make sure no harm comes to her.”

“I will.” said Vincent, “I promise.”

“That's good.” she said “Remember just like your father says, your bond should never be broken. You are the protector, and you are the one that will keep her safe.”

“I promise.” Mom he said “I will always protect Victoria.”

And then he was back in his home kitchen enjoying a cookie looking across to his sister Victoria enjoying a cookie of her own and then her days met his he could see her whisper something under her breath as he whispered to himself.

“I am your protector.” he said.

The cameras fade open to find Vincent alone standing outside the family greenhouse, for a moment before he starts speaking.

“You have found yourself in a really really unfortunate position Felix.” Vincent began. “You have found yourself going against a force that simply doesn't care about you. Jayden Harris is my prime target, but right now you have been placed in my path so I need to make an example out of you, and show Jayden Harris that this time he's not ready for what's coming for him at Summer Xxxtreme.

He laughs to himself.

“Jayden thinks he's ahead because he has a few victories over me.” said Vincent “But he's becoming too content, too confident and that is when I'm going to make my kill shot. That is when the execution of Jayden Harris will be completed.”

Another laugh.

“But I should be talking about you right Felix?” said Vincent “You're my opponent this week or rather you're my victim this week. Because quite honestly I don't think anybody really cares about Felix The Cat Hernandez, you're just some loser who hangs around with the Barnharts and that just speaks for itself. I guess birds of a feather right?”

He shrugs.

“You need to understand one thing Felix.” Vincent continued “I am going to make an example out of you. I am the lion, and you're just a housecat. I am the apex predator of SCW, you are going to provide the perfect snack, the perfect warm up before I finish Jayden Harris for good.”

He takes a short moment to pause.

“The truth is you're a joke Felix.” said Vincent “And very few people are even laughing. I'm not here to make anybody laugh. I'm here to hurt people and I'm here to cause destruction. I am here to hurt peoples feelings. Understand that Victoria and myself are the only people that matter to me in this company. I could care less about the well-being of anybody else especially someone like you Felix”.

He exhales.

“I mean come on do you really think you have a chance?” said Vincent “Your whole little squad is comprised of nothing but losers. All talk and nothing to back it up you can't hang with the sharks Felix, and you can't hang with the predatory cats like myself.”

His face grows into a cocky expression.

“You saw what I did to Jayden on Climax Control.” Vincent said "You saw what I did to Helluva Bottom Carter last month.  So if you think you're safe, you need to rethink that Felix. I'm going to hurt you and I'm going to enjoy doing it. But you know who you should blame for what's coming for you Felix. You should blame Jayden Harris."

He licks his lips, keeping the smirk  on his face.

“Because I'm going to use you to send a message to him.” said Vincent “See that's all you are to me. A message. Not a competitor, not even an equal. You are going to be a victim and there's nothing you can do about it. So just accept what's coming to you and then I'll throw you back out to the trash where you belong.”

He takes a few steps forward moving closer to the camera.

“I know you didn't ask for this Felix.” Vincent said “But I don't care. It's going to happen to you anyway.  You really should just make it easier on yourself and just let it happen. Or don't it'll be more fun for me that way.”

He laughs again.

“At Climax Control Felix..” Vincent said “The primal lion is going to maul the housecat.”

He glared into the camera with a snarl exiting his lips as everything faded to black
