I WILL BECOME A THREE TIME ROULETTE CHAMPION AT SUMMER XXXTREME XII

Narrator:  Bill and Bea Barnhart had an extremely interesting match at Climax Control 400 against Despayre and Candy in a Candyland Hardcore Rules Match. Bill and Bea lost the match but both are happy they had a good performance. Now Bill Barnhart is assigned to the Roulette Championship Match at Summer XXXTREME XII on the Princess Cruise Ship. He will be facing the current Roulette Champion, Alexander Raven, and also Eddye Lyons and Aiden Reynolds. Bill told me that after his video interview with Anthony Amey who is the Sports Broadcaster for WSB-TV Channel 2 in Atlanta, Georgia, he will directly address Alexander Raven, Eddie Lyons, and Aiden Reynolds.

VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH BILL BARNHART BY ANTHONY AMEY THE SPORTS BROADCASTER AT WSB-TV CHANNEL 2 IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA

The scene opens and we get a shot of Anthony Amen in the Sports Broadcast Studio at WSB-TV Channel 2 in Atlanta, Georgia, and we also get a shot of Bill Barnhart but we are not given the information of where Bill is broadcasting from.

Anthony Amey:  Congratulations on earning a spot in the Roulette Championship match at Summer XXXTreme XII. With you being a two-time Roulette Champion I am looking forward to you winning the Roulette Championship for your third time.

Bill:  Me too Anthony. I want to prove to everyone that I still have what it takes to be the Roulette Champion.

Anthony Amey:  Do you have a history against Alexander Raven, Eddie Lyons, or Aiden Reynolds?

Bill:  I will go into specific detail of my history against those three wrestlers when I do a detailed presentation for the upcoming Roulette Championship match so for now, for the benefit of you and your viewers, overall against Alexander Raven, Eddie Lyons, and Aiden Reynolds I am 3 wins, 5 losses, and no draws. Sorry to run off on you Anthony but I have some items to take care of and I have to arrange for a camera crew to come to my location so I can broadcast my specific comments for my match. Thanks for inviting me on your broadcast Anthony.

Anthony Amey:  The pleasure is always mine to interview you and Bea and soon I also had an interview with Felix Hernandez on my broadcast.

After Anthony Amey’s closing comments the broadcast ends and our television goes dark.

We take a break since Bill had to stop broadcasting to get to the location where he will present his specific comments for his upcoming Roulette Championship Match at Summer XXXTreme XII.

I WILL BECOME A THREE-TIME ROULETTE CHAMPION AT SUMMER XXXTREME XII

When the scene comes on our screen we see Bill Barnhart standing on the dock at the World Cruise Center at the Port of Los Angeles which is located in San Pedro, California. This Cruise Ship port is located approximately 20 miles South of Los Angeles. Bill is smartly dressed in black slacks, a really sharp looking pink Polo shirt, and he is wearing matching pink dress shoes. We also notice that Bill is holding a binder with papers inside so we assume it contains information he will be presenting during this air time. When the camera person informs Bill they are live broadcasting Bill begins his comments.

Bill:  Thanks to everyone for joining me today. I have much information to present so I ask that you pay attention so that later down the way you will not claim that you were not informed.

Bill opens the binder and he begins presenting the information contained in it.

Bill:  The first thing I wish to present are the reasons I will become a three-time Roulette Champion at Summer XXXTreme XII. My history as Roulette Champion in Sin City Wrestling is that I held the Roulette Champion twice. My first reign as Roulette Champion was earned on October 3, 2021 and I then lost the Roulette Championship on April 3, 2022, for a reign of 6 months. My second reign as Roulette Champion was earned on October 30, 2022 and then I lost the Roulette Champion on January 15, 2023 for a reign of three months. My two reigns as Roulette Champion totals nine months. Now at Summer XXXTreme XII I will become a three time Roulette Champion and I plan on successfully defending it for a very long time.

Bill flashes two thumbs up into the camera.

Bill:  So how long have my three opponents in the Roulette Championship match at Summer XXXTreme XII held the Roulette Championship? Alexander Raven has held the Roulette Championship twice for a total of 5 months. Eddie Lyons has held the Roulette Championship once for a total of five months. And, finally, Aiden Reynolds held the Roulette Championship once for a total of 2 weeks. Did you get that? Aiden held the Roulette Championship for a mere TWO weeks!

Bill laughs loudly.

Bill:  Do any of you honestly think I am NOT confident going into the Roulette Championship match at Summer XXXTreme XII when I held the Roulette Championship longer than Alexander Raven has. . .longer than Eddie Lyons has...and a hell of a lot longer than Aiden Reynolds has? If you think I am running scared then you are morons! I am not in this Roulette Championship match to roll over and play dead. I am in this Roulette Championship match to kick ass and walk away from the match as the newly crowned Roulette Champion for my third Roulette Championship reign.

Bill flips through the binder to read information from another page in the binder.

Bill:  I want to present additional information for the benefit of everyone watching my presentation. That additional information gives you the history of my matches against Alexander Raven, Eddie Lyons, and Aiden Reynolds. I have done six matches against Alexander Raven and I am 2 wins and 4 losses against him. I have done two matches with Eddie Lyons and I am 1 win and 1 loss against him. I have not yet had a match against Aiden Reynolds but after I win the Roulette Championship match at Summer XXXTreme XII I will be 1-0 against Aiden and he will be 0-1 against me.

AND THE BOTTOM LINE IN THE ROULETTE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT SUMMER XXXTREME XII IS. . .

Bill:  I am sure most of you want to know what the BOTTOM LINE is in our Roulette Championship match is at Summer XXXTreme XII and that is a good question. I have defeated Alexander Raven before. I have defeated Eddie Lyons before. And I will defeat Aiden Reynolds in this match.

Bill grins into the camera.

Bill:  This type of match, which is an Ultimate X over the pool match, for the Roulette Championship, is not about wrestling abilities. This match is not about how many times you can body slam your opponent. This match is all about which wrestler will be the first to climb the structure to take possession of the Roulette Championship Belt. Also if any wrestler is climbing the structure and loses their grip, or their footing, and fall into the pool they are eliminated from the match.

Bill gives a deep stern look into the camera.

Bill:  I plan on quickly climbing up the structure and taking possession of the Roulette Championship Belt. If anyone gets close to me while I am climbing up the structure I will knock them so hard they will fall into the pool and be eliminated. If anyone thinks I am in this match to play nice then you are dead wrong in your assumption. I am in this match to win the Roulette Championship for my third time and nobody is going to stop me from obtaining the Roulette Championship for a third time. Not Alexander Raven. . .not Eddie Lyons. . .and for damn sure not Aiden Reynolds. Just deal with my win for the Roulette Championship because you have no choice but to deal with my win!

Bill appears that he is about to end the broadcast of his comments on his upcoming match but instead of doing that he looks deeply into the camera and continues commenting.

Bill:  Alexander, Eddie, Aiden, I will not only beat you down figuratively. . .I will not only beat you down verbally. . .and I will not only beat you down literally. . .I will add to those concepts of the beat down I will give to you three that, after I earn the Roulette Championship, I will leap off the structure that is over the pool and I will land in the pool and make a literal huge splash when I hit the water in the pool. If you think I am joking. . .if you think I am not capable of doing what I say I will do. . .and if any of you think that you will walk away as the newly crowned Sin City Wrestling Roulette Championship...you are flat out WRONG!!!

Bill informs the camera person that he is finished with his comments and that they can cut their camera feed. The camera person calls into the Network to let them know Bill is done with his comments and the Network cuts the feed to the camera and our screen goes dark.

The  Great Wombat Heist

Why can’t this motherfucker be normal?

Sorry, I understand that might be a little bit on the unprofessional side. But if you knew what I knew then you would see my frustrations are perfectly apt and completely reasonable. We join Aiden Reynolds outside the bronx zoo in New York. He looked around like a kid in a candy store happily rubbing his hands together waiting for someone.

It was clear that he had something great in mind. Perhaps a date? Or perhaps something else.

He smiled and side happily as he put his hands behind his back and simply stroll back-and-forth in front of the entrance. The sun had gone down and it was night time, the zoo was closed but that didn’t seem to bother Aidan which is really weird right? I can’t be the only one finding that weird? Okay, okay I’ll focus Jesus. he paste back-and-forth looking at his phone before smiling as he replied to a text message. Then it happened. Florence. The tattoo artist that he been seeing for the last couple of weeks.

You know the one. The one who is a bit of a gaslighting bitch who tried to get to be a Dorman? Yeah, that cunt. Sorry, I know I’m being unprofessional again. That lady. She smiled moving across the ground getting closer to Aiden who opened his arms and brought her in for a hug. ”Aye love….you ready?” he flashed a very toothy grin. One thing about Aidan is that he has a certain boyish charmed that most women find to be irresistible. For at least a few weeks before they start getting tired of his immaturity.

Florence seem to be at that point as she dismissively shrugged and tried to be polite. ”I suppose. But what are we doing?…The zoo is closed..”

Aidan cleared his throat, obviously nervous about something and also perhaps trying to hide something. He nervously ran a hand through his light brown hair and smiled. ”Yeah I know. But I..uh…paid the guy and we can go in privately.” and that’s why he was nervous. He had to spend a lot of money clearly. He turned and made his way toward the entrance. Entrance of Florence followed shocked that Aidan would spend so much money on something like this. But also happy and impressed that he would do that for her.

”Wait, you really paid the guy so we could have the entire zoo to ourselves? Aidenzzz” She stopped Aiden also stopped and turned. He tilted his head as Florence put her hands together and smiled wide. ”That is so romantic…I never knew you had it in you.”

”Hey that’s Me. I’m full of surprises love.” He winked at her and took her hand. Leading her toward the entrance. But then taking a quick right and heading towards the maintenance door. A bright blue door that was sitting slightly open. He looked around almost nervously before stopping and turning around and putting his hands up to stop Florence
”Just one thing. The animals are going to be somewhat tired and also easy to spook since there’s no one else around. So my friend told us that we need to be really quiet and kind of sneak around so we don’t start all them.”

”O…Kay…” Florence was suspicious. But as Aidan grabbed hold of the door and kept the brick that was holding it open out of the way and let her through the maintenance area she decided to trust him. They moved out through and around the large piping out another door and into the main part of the zoo. Aiden crouched down and Florence followed as they lead all the way around past the primate enclosure and the reptiles. After staying having a look for what seemed to be a short amount of time Aidan looked up and smiled seeing a sign as if that’s exactly what he was looking for.

”Hey look…” he excitedly points up at the sign. Florence looks up tilting her head and chuckles. ”Oceana animals…that’s my people!” he took flow by the hand and let her down the walkway toward the enclosure. Looking around before grabbing the door and sliding it open and pulling her inside. Inside they found a few gum trees behind the glass with koalas in them, wallabies are asleep in their enclosure a kangaroo that was looking at them while chomping on some grass.

”Why do kangaroos look like giant rats?”

Aiden stopped midstep and turned. He took a deep breath calming himself down so he didn’t offend her by basically calling her an idiot. By the way Flo was an idiot just saying. He shook his head and gave her a tap on the shoulder. ”I’ll be back…just gotta take a piss…”

”Charming.”

Flow moved around the area studying all of the animals. A few minutes past and she realised that Aidan had been gone the entire time. She looked around and couldn’t find him. ”Aiden?….Aiden?” she moved deeper into the enclosure, looking over it a few other animals like the Tasmanian Tiger and the echidna. Looking wide eyed at them.

Then in the distance she heard the sound of feet hitting the ground. Then around the corner came Aiden. Holding his jacket in front of him. A jacket that seem to be a hell of a lot bigger than it was before. ”Time to go!”

”What? Why?”

Then she saw them. Two guards running after Aiden. ”Hey you! Stop!”

Aidan and Flo took off. Running out of the enclosure as Florence straightaway turned around and shut the door slamming a rock behind it. Both of the move back out past the primates and the reptiles toward the door that they came in. As they got through dodging all of the different pipes and maintenance equipment. They got back to the parking lot. Moving over to Flo‘s car. She opened the doors and Aiden sat down. She started the car and they took off. She was breathing heavily shaking her head and also shaking while trying to drive. ”What the fuck Aiden?!?”

He couldn’t help but laugh. ”What a rush eh?”

She  growled  and shook her head, her hands clasping the wheel hard. ”No, not a rush you asshole!”  she shook her head and looked around sniffing the air as they got further away from the zoo. ”What the hell is that smell?”

She looked over and her eyes whitened. Underneath Aidan‘s coat was a small furry creature. ”Its her…”

”WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!?”

Flow slammed on the brakes. Opening the car and getting out and backing up. Aiden blinked a few times before looking at the wombat on his lap. ”Was it something you said?”

I get wet

”Well, this is weird. See, I wasn’t expecting to rise through the ranks as quickly as I had. I wasn’t expecting to become the roulette champion and I wasn’t expecting to have to defend that championship against Alexander Raven. But I did. And he beat me. I was at the lowest point of my career so far in SCW because after rising so high so fast been unable to maintain that definitely broke me..”

Aiden Reynolds, former roulette champion, all around nice guy, Australian, marsupial enthusiast, he was bobbing up and down, relaxing in the very same pool that he will soon have to climb above if he wants to become the champion again.

”But, I was able to rebound from that. See, I was able to beat Justin Smith and Felix cat. And I know what most people are thinking, those two don’t exactly have the best records in this company and it was kind of like beating a dead horse. but sometimes when you’re at a low point, you don’t know if you are going to be good enough to win anything. You don’t know if you’re going to be able to bounce back, and if I hadn’t then I might as well pack up my shit and go home. but, I did win. I was able to get my hand raised and that gives me a little bit of momentum.”

“And trust me on this, momentum is very important in this business. Now, I’m sure you were all wondering why it’s just me. Normally I have a guest star and someone to bounce ideas off of and I get to be comic relief while also making points. Well, I do have a lot of people with me on this cruise. I could’ve picked Finn, I could’ve asked Kayla, I could’ve asked my wife. but the truth is, I thought it would be best if I could just speak to all of you. Just me.”

“Just me in a pool…”

“The very poor that we are going to set up cables over and have an ultimate X match with. I’ve been in an ultimate X match before, but it was a standard one, it was one way you had to climb up and try and get the championship and it was above a professional wrestling ring and all the dangerous that came with it. I’ve always liked the concept. It’s kind of a match without ladders. But this, this is a tradition. I’ve gone back and watched all the other supercars that have taken place on this ship and every single one of them has had these matches.”

“So, I get to be a part of history. This is my first summer xxxtreme, and I hope it won’t be my last. As for being in this match though? Well we’ll have to see how well I do.”

Aiden looks comfortable, bobbing up and down sitting on an inflatable chair with a plastic cup filled with beer sitting in the little cupholder. There are other people around but they seem kindly aware that he is doing something important and are leaving him alone.

”But to be a champion again I have to get that title before three others. Bill Barnhart, Eddie Lyons and Alexander Raven. Now, I’ve been in the ring with all three of them. In fact I was able to take the roulette championship off of Eddie and I beat Bill. Raven is the only one who’s been able to get one up on me. But I have to question, how is Bill Barnhart going to do anything in this match? I’m not the type of guy who wants to get cancelled for fat shaming but the extra pounds that Bill is carrying around his midsection are not exactly conducive to being able to drag his fat ass up onto those cables shimmy and get the championship.”

“And why is he even in this match? Alexander is the current champion, Eddie is the one I took the title off, and I was champion in between. Why is Bill there? I don’t understand.”

“I guess it’s just to make up the numbers”

“That’s the story with you isn’t it Bill? You’re always there just to make up the numbers in these matches. And it served you well over the years. You have been able to get some unexpected wins and you’ve been able to be a champion. But you’ve never really been able to step up to that next level. You’ve never been able to be looked at as anything more than a fill-in and a joke. You and your wife constantly get brought up when people are talking about the worst contenders and champions.”

“It’s not all your fault. Sometimes people can just be mean. But you have done nothing to earn your rights. You’ve done nothing to earn championship opportunities. You haven’t been able to be a named people think of when they think champion. And I don’t think this match is going to do anything to change that.”

Aiden throws his hands in the air and takes a sip of his beer before floating a little bit further around the pool

”Eddie however is… see, when I faced Eddie I pretty much verbally blew him in front of the world. And I had no problems doing that. I’ll even do it here and now. Eddie Lyons is an incredible professional wrestler. He puts everything on the line and will never leave anything in the tank. Now, when you and I face each other Eddie I told you that I was gonna give you everything I had.”

“And I did.”

“When the dust settled, I was the one who was holding the roulette championship over my head. I would’ve had no problems giving you a rematch. Hell, I was fully expecting you to cash in your rematch clause. But it didn’t happen. You see, your cousin decided instead of giving you a rematch that you rightfully deserved. She was just going to try and punish me. So she forced me to defend my championship against Alexander Raven. The last quarter of our quartet.”

“I was not expecting it.”

“And my question is why? Why would she do that? I wanted that rematch against you. One on one Eddie Lyons Aiden Reynolds two. A different match stipulation for the same championship. But instead, Victoria did something unexpected. And I failed. Meaning that you and I never got that rematch. So, I feel the need to apologise to you. And let you know that I did want that match. But if you wanted that match to, instead of just blaming me, blame your cousin because she was the vindictive bitch who decided that punishing me was more important than giving you what you deserved”

A kid dives in the pool, Aidan gets splashed and some of the water goes into his beer. He slowly looks at the child and shakes his head, the kid swims away clearly intimidated by the 6 foot tall muscular Australian.

”Now, i’ve talked about how Bill doesn’t really earn anything that he gets and that Eddie deserved one on wild shot with Me over the current champion. But I need to make something perfectly clear. Alexander Raven deserved a roulette championship match. He is consistently being one of the biggest and best names in this company and I would like to think that he won’t take this as an insult, but, he is the most talented person in this company. Do not have held the world championship.”

“I hope that didn’t come off as a dick thing to say”

“It comes from a good place. Trust me. See Alex, you beat me. You beat me one on one you took that championship and you get to hold it again. It just sucks that it’s come with a small problem. See, you are already booked to be in a tagteam match at the SuperCard. But due to you winning the Roulette championship, it also means that you have to defend the roulette championship in the ultimate X over the pool.”

“That sucks mate.”

“Really it does. Pulling double duty going into this where you could get injured before you have to get in the ring in that tag match? A match that has been building for so long that everyone was waiting for it? I feel for you I do. But I hope you realise that I’ll be doing everything in my power to climb up shimmy across those ropes and cables and get that championship. I’ve earned my position in this company and I’ve earned everything that I’ve been given. So now, I just have to join in this crazy match and do what I do best. And that is something unexpected. I’ll be glad to see you boys in the match and good luck.”

Ghosts at the Bar
Scene One | Off-Camera

Someone in their infinite wisdom had decided that giving Alex a run of one of the ship bars for the night was the way to go. Everything from getting the music together, running the bar and anything else he felt was justified for a bar takeover. At first he hadn’t really wanted to do so. Working when he really should’ve been letting himself relax for a few minutes before one of the hardest events in his life. Wrestling once in a championship match was one thing, but pulling double duty?

That was a rough night for even the best of them. Last year it was Peter Vaughn pulling the double. Defending his Roulette Championship, and trying to capture the reinstated Mixed Tag Team Championships. A year later, truthfully, there could be two men pulling double duty. Vaughn had the briefcase, but he also had the Internet Championship. Reality was Alex was probably safe from the cash-in, but stranger things had happened. Vaughn might’ve wanted to win it on his own merit, take back the Roulette Title and stand as the King of the Midcard.

Regardless, tonight he didn’t have to worry about the semantics of it all. Tonight he could just sling beers, spirits and cocktails. He could play some atrocious music, with absolutely no link between songs and watch as people were perpetually disgusted by what was before. Luna had said she wasn’t going to come, but there she was, sitting at the end of the bar. Head buried in her fourth scotch and coke, she was doing her absolute best to keep him on his toes. The bar was surprisingly busy for the evening. A fair few people turning up just because of the chance of seeing contracted talent being on either side of the bar.

He claps his hands together suddenly as he climbs up onto the bar top.A few of the other staff look a little perturbed. Clearly not entirely used to the way that Alex runs a bar. He waves to the throng of patrons telling them to come in a little closer. He smiles and claps his hands one more time.

“Alright, alright, listen the fuck up! For those who know, shut up. For those that don’t, my name is Alexander Raven. I am the current reigning and defending Sin City Wrestling Roulette Champion. I am a three time best bartender bar award winner down in Australia, and I have the musical taste of a dead cat. I will be in charge of the bar for the night, I will be in charge of the music, and if I fucking like you pricks, then I’ll be taking care of you for my stay.” Alex shouted out, somehow capturing the attention of most of the patrons. The other bar staff with clear worry on their face.

“For those that were lucky enough to have been here a couple years ago when I ran a masterclass, you’ll know that I like to integrate my work with my life. So, keep an ear out and pay attention. I’ll be playing your favourite wrestler’s bangers, I’ll be playing some mocking little pieces and I’ll be paying homage to whoever the fuck I feel like it. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your night fuckheads. We’re starting with a throwback.” Alex said, as he dropped off the bartop.

The first song of the evening being one that original fans of his would instantly recognise, ‘Alpha & Omega’ by King 810. The theme he used for the longest stretch of his SCW career. A throwback to better times. To when he entered Summer XXXtreme as the defending Roulette Champion. Different times, different faces. Finn and Miles were milling about in the opening bout with him. Bulldog was still there. Bulldog was probably always going to be there when he thought about it.

“Another for me, bar daddy.” Luna said as she rattled her empty glass at him as he came over to her. He shook his head a little, stomping his way up the bar to the beat of the music, pulling whatever the house scotch was from the bar rack, free pouring into a fresh glass. Pulling a can of coke from the fridge and pouring that into the same glass. Filling with ice, and as he turned his heart caught in his throat. His mind decided that even here, he wasn’t to be free.

“Look at you go, rockstar.” James said, his ghost turning to smile at him. His fingers tightened on the glass, as he walked forward, stepping through the ethereal body. Shaking his head as he handed Luna her drink. A flicker of concern crossed her face, but he smiled to try and cover it up.

“Shots?” Alex asked, and Luna nodded a little in response. Not entirely convinced he was fine.

“Handshake me.” Luna said softly. He screwed his nose up, but nodded. Yelling out to one of the nearby bar staff who was clearly already being overworked by a surprisingly raucous crowd of patrons.

“Where’s the Fernet?” Alex yelled out, the staff member pointing at a little hideaway behind the bar. Of course it’d be there. Right behind the ghostly friend of his, the illusion pouring itself its own shot. He blinked rapidly trying to block it out, but couldn’t. He couldn’t wash the image away.

“Don’t mind me, daddy. I’m just here for the festivities. Dancing time, right?” James' voice filled his head. Not coming from the man he saw standing there directly. Bouncing around inside his skull. He walked through him again, and knelt down. Pulling a bottle of Fernet from under the bar, twisting and turning to pick up a couple of shot glasses.

Turning to face Luna, he nearly dropped the bottle. It was apparently a night of ghosts for him. Sitting next to her, looking into her face, a hand reaching out to her hair. “Lauren…” Alex mumbled to himself. She looked away from Luna toward him and smiled. There was a bitter sweetness in it. The happiest people in his world were the ones plaguing him tonight. The ones he wished most had never been taken away. How life would’ve been dramatically different. He wouldn’t change anything, but there were parts of him that still wondered. Wondered what things could have been.

What things would have been.

The next song was ‘Cocaine Country Dancing’ by Paul Cauthen, a bit of a switch up from the heavier first one, and realistically. One of the only softer songs on the playlist for the night. Dancing time was right.

He placed the shot glasses in front of Luna and shook his head a little as he poured them out. Her eyes locked on him, a quizzical cock of the eyebrow. He smiled again, trying poorly to be as reassuring as possible. They raised their glasses together and knocked them together. Where she would only see two, he saw four. Lauren and James’ clinking their glasses with them. He only wished his mind would give peace for the moment.

“If you let me in just a little. I can give you the peace you seek right now.” Vita Mors voice bounced around inside his head. As frustrating as seeing his dead loved ones haunting him, there was only one thing that seemed even worse right now. The idea that Mors was going to take any of this away from him.

Not a chance he thought to himself.

“Pity.” Mors voice came once more, before silence.

“How busy is your mind tonight, sugar?” Luna asked softly, taking a long sip of her scotch. He looked at her and just nodded a little. Pointing vaguely in the directions of Lauren and James.

“Gentle faces for once. Gentle and loving, but still. They don’t belong here. They don’t belong in my mind like this.”

Kool-Aid by Bring Me The Horizon was up next. A little bit of a reference to how he felt about the others in Sin City. Not that he’d ever really tell any of them that. It was sometimes nice to keep some things to himself.

Time passed, and the night got deeper. More people shots, more drinks had. The attendees were seemingly in good spirits. And then…

Alex shook his head and held his hand out to Luna, offering to take her hand in his.

“What are you-” She started being cut off as he pulled himself up onto the bartop again, pulling her up with him. A few cheers from local patrons. Grumpy looks from the other bar staff, and curious eyebrows cocked from a few others. Almost in sync, the next song started. ‘Me & Maxine’ by King 810.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, theydys and gentlethems. This next one is a good excuse to group who you love, hold 'em close and make em feel real uncomfortable in the eyes of everyone else when you realise neither of you can dance.” Alex shouted out, as he pulled Luna across the bar. His eyes catching the smiling figures of his dead wife and her dead brother leaning on the bar. Watching them. Watching the people they had loved, be alive.

“A celebration to the next World Bombshell Champion, and her ever so humble husband.” Alex shouted once more, as glasses were raised. A few people taking the lead and grabbing their partners. Others were far less than impressed with all the theatrics, behaviour and music and taking their leave.

“I love you, Lexi.” Luna said.

“I love you, Lu.” Alex replied.

Two Year Masterclass
Scene Two | On-Camera

“Two years ago, I was in this very spot. I came into Summer Xtreme as the Roulette champion. Having successfully beaten Finn Whelan, I looked across at a set of challengers who… did not strike fear into me. No, sheer arrogance had me believe myself vastly superior to the men stepping into that ring. The simple fact of the matter was that I had beaten Finn Whelan. I was confident that I had thrown off the early jitters and was going to be good enough to outlast Speedo Barnhart. Miles Kasey? He wasn’t on my radar, and for how it would eventuate? He should’ve been fucking thanking me.”

“See I walked in champion, and I walked out champion. Shut the naysayers up, and put the boots to the first Wolves that got in my way. A journey of bird versus dog that had started almost from the moment I stepped into the ring here. For I declared war on Wolfslair not long after. But then? I was still just finding my feet. Treading water, but ensuring that none would truly question Alexander Raven. I guess people were quick to forget, because it was only mere months later that people had turned on me. Every confidence when I came in, and then the same horseshit that has been spouted week after week ever since. That I was just a flash in the pan. That I was overrated, and that I was all talk.”

“Aiden learnt that the hard way, that I am more than just talk. Bill Barnhart has learnt the hardway that I am more than just fucking talk, and our little ‘Unbreakable’ one? He’s going to learn the fucking hard way, that I am more than just talk. See I have this habit of having my eyes everywhere. Ears on everything that is being said. I don’t have an issue calling people out, and months ago, when Eddie won the Roulette Championship? I warned him. I warned him that if he wasn’t careful, I’d take it from him. Unfortunately, the guy couldn’t hack it. The first real challenge and he lost the belt.”

“That upsets me, something fierce, Eddie. See, I wanted to be the one to break you. To be the one to wipe that smile from your face. I wanted to break the unbreakable. I wanted to be the one to rip your happiness away. I guess in a way, I did. See Aiden knew what was coming, and still couldn’t stop it. Bill Barnhart knows what is to come, and won’t be able to slow it down. You can’t even stand shoulder to shoulder with those that are beneath me, and you come into this match with an expectation to win? That’s a fucking joke.”

“Not a single person in this match is deserving of being here, and that’s a fact. Aiden hasn’t worked to his rematch, Bill is just a fucking placeholder in this damn division, another body to fill out situations like these, and you Eddie? You used everything you fucking had on Peter Vaughn, and the moment someone mildly capable came along? They showed you up for what you were. Mark my words, this Roulette Championship reign of mine? It ends when I feel like giving it up. It ends when I walk out the door in October. It ends in three months when I am finally fucking free of this place. Or maybe it doesn’t.”

“Maybe, I use it as a bargaining chip. To leverage my desires. To hold this championship hostage until I feel that there is someone fucking worthy of it. That’s not a bad idea, when I think about it. I elevated the Internet Championship to a world class level. Making it feel almost more important than the languishing World Title at the time. A back and forth between Mac and Ken and Finn, and Mac and Ken and Finn, and then finally Michael Harris came through, and despite what he might want people to think? Our illustrious fucking host? He had it easy. No, the only person that gave him even the slightest run for his money was J2H. Not Miles, not King James, not Carter or Goth or any other mewling worm that wiggled its way to a position it wasn’t ready for. No, I’m sick to death of people being giving opportunities that they haven’t fucking earned around here.”

“We had our first shot at the Mixed Tag Team championship in a year the other week. We tore through the mixed tag division for six months, tore through our own singles divisions for a goddamn year, but we couldn’t get a shot at the one championship we actually deserved a shot at. No, the Barnharts and fucking Miles and Ally, or Carter and fucking Angelos. They get ample and repeated opportunities, because they tow the line. They do what they are asked and kiss the hand that feeds for the fucking grace that they are given. Just like you Eddie. Just like Aiden and just like Bill. Gnats who think themselves worthy of being in these positions, yet doing nothing to fucking earn them. You want to impress me? You want an opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with the kings of Sin City? Then you need to be able to get past the Napalm Kingslayer, and guess what?”

“None of you could lace my fucking boots.”

“Two years ago, I held a bartending masterclass on this very cruise. As the Roulette Champion, I got among the people. Lead a short little lesson, and left people just a little bit better off than they were before they boarded. What the term there however, was the masterclass. See, that is what happens when I get in the ring. I am fucking master teaching his class. There is a reason that I am consistently held in high regard, despite everything I say. Despite believing the world is against me, those who sit at the top? They acknowledge Alexander Raven. Finn Whelan, Ken Davison, Matthew Knox, Peter Vaughn, Mark Cross. Fenris, J2H and hell if you asked him I’m sure even Michael Harris will tell you he wishes he could’ve gotten in the ring with me, just once.”

“You aren’t in my league Eddie. You aren’t in my league Aiden, and even if delusional bulldoggy won’t admit it to himself. Billy boy knows that beyond his speedo highlights, there is no fucking universe where I ever stumble against the big fella ever again. That’s the simple fact. That’s what is before you Eddie. A World Champion in the way of your consolation prize. The thing you hold in high esteem only because you are aware that the ceiling above you is made from diamond itself. Pretty, expensive and unfuckingbreakable. But, there is one Lyon who I think can be something. Victoria seems to have none of the failings of the honourable little lion, and all the successes that you want. Maybe you should take a leaf out of her book. You could learn a thing or two. She’s the breadwinner in that little family dynamic. So if she feels like joining a family that actually matters? Tell her The Conspiracy’s door is open to the talented.”

“My ire doesn’t just lay with Eddie though. No, my ire is held by three. Whilst he might be the one that pisses me off the most, the one that bores me? That has to be you Bulldog. I feel like we are destined to do this over and over. This championship seems to just be a revolving door of you and you and you and fucking you Bill. You were the champ when I got here, and for better or worse, it taught me what to expect. It taught me what the bare minimum for a champion in Sin City was. So when I stripped you down to nothing but your budgie smugglers two years ago, I made a vow to myself. Never again would I stumble against the whipping boy.”

“Mixed tag matches, thousand tack matches, submission only matches, and hell even a fucking dog collar match. You and I have gone to the trenches, over and over, and the result doesn’t change. The result stays the same. Now that Alexander Raven has surpassed Bill Barnhart, Billy boy is never going to get another W in that column. As long as I am Roulette Champion, you’ll never even get a sniff at it. As long as I am here, you will be just another body in the pile, Bill. That’s okay though. I don’t hate you for it, in fact I don’t even care about it. What I do care about, Bill? I care that somehow, someway, you’ve weaselled yourself into this match again. Somehow you’ve weaselled your way into another chance at the Roulette Championship, and it sickens me. It sickens me that people like you, Bill. The laughingstocks?”

“They keep getting all these chances, all these opportunities. All this light shone on them and made it seem like they mean something. Acting as little more than stat padding and heaters for those who are somewhat deserving in their grandeur. The Barnharts are thrown time and again at every newcomer, returner, veteran or debutant. Throw at anyone who needs a warm-up in the lead up to a bigger match. A bigger feud, a bigger championship opportunity. There’s Bill and Bea, to make the challenger look polished. I understand your existence Bill, and hell. I think you even like that which is given to you. To be the consummate prepper of the greater ones to come. I have to thank you for what you once did for me. You made me see how low I had fallen in my years away from the ring, and how low I would never sink again. That’s what you showed me, and in turn, I thank you for it.”

“But when it comes to this match? You know better than anyone. I’m just too good for you. I’m too good for Eddie, and I’m too fucking good for Aiden Reynolds. So I want you to put your hands together, rub those palms and get yourself ready. Ready to be the first dumbass thrown straight into the pool, and for the love of all that is good in this universe?”

“Don’t wear the speedos. Please.”

“That just leaves you, doesn’t it Aiden? The Aussie that could. The man who defends the pride of the north. What I was most interested in Aiden? I was interested in how you would react. How you would bounce back. How quiet little Dickie boy would be sitting there as you go on and on about how things have changed for you.  But you did the right thing. See, I think I have a bit of a reputation. I’m mouthy, cutthroat, aggressive and crude. I am not a nice person when I am on this side of the camera, on this side of the microphone. When people are listening, I do not mince words, and I do not pretend to be amicable.”

“I don’t pretend to be, because when it comes to doing this? I’m not amicable. I’m not nice, and I am not forgiving. I am a grudge holder, I am elephantine in my memory when it comes to those that would slight me. But what do I do, in victory or defeat? For those that deserve it? I acknowledge greatness. I acknowledge shortcomings. I acknowledge when I am just a step too slow, a thought too dull or a moment too quiet. I can acknowledge when someone is better, and I can acknowledge when someone takes me to the finish line. Aiden didn’t take me there, but he did his best. He did better than half the fucking people in this company would do. He did better than Bill Barnhart has ever done, and I suspect he'll be better in defeat than Eddie Lyons.”

“So when I hear the man talk kindly of me, I can only say this. You’re good Aiden. Hell, you will be great. This championship? Any other day, and any other person, you’d still be champ. No doubt in mind. Any other spiteful family, and any other loser? You’d still be champion going into this match. You’d be here, I probably wouldn’t be. No, I wouldn’t double booked, I wouldn’t be here dealing with Bill Barnhart and Eddie fucking Lyons.”

“I’ll let you in on a secret here, Aiden. There’s only one person I can justify knocking me from my perch in this match, and that’s you. I’m… indifferent on the old man, and I really just don’t like the walking catchphrase of virtue Eddie. But you, Aiden. I like you. I like that you are honest. I like that you are respectful. I like that even though you’re surrounded by people who would tell you to be a worse version of yourself, you stand to your own morals. Able to acknowledge when you get walked. The thing that people don’t understand fully about me? I’m not a nice person, but I wouldn’t have any friends if I spent my life pretending to be the superior at every god given moment. No, I can throw my hand in friendship, in victory or defeat. Just know the next time we step in the ring, I’ll wring your neck again.”

“The thing is, Aiden. You need to break this mindset. This idea of world champions being too much. You see right now? Sin City is the Main Event at the top. As much as I don’t like the holier than thou cock that is Peter Vaughn? The man is a world champion on his worst day. When I stand in this ring, there is none that can doubt that I will be World Champion. I’ve stumbled and I’ve failed, and I hear all the words, but the truth? The truth is, they can talk all they want, but they know. They know that they aren’t on my fucking level, and if they aren’t on my level Aiden? They aren’t ever going to get a sniff at the peak.”

“Every championship on the men’s side of this company is held by the best of the best. Some could argue that the three most talented and gifted men in all of Sin City currently. Finn Wheland, Peter Vaughn and Alexander Raven. And as much as I like you Aiden? As much as I know that you can be more. That you can be a future world champion, despite your own self-doubts. To be as good if not better than those you surround yourself with? Right now? You aren’t even close. Right now, there is a world between us, and getting one over on Felix and Justin? That’s nothing more than a rebound match to get your win back. To get some momentum, because that isn’t a match that prepares you to be the champion.”

“You want to be the champion, Aiden? You need to believe you are better than the rest. That you can beat anyone, at any time, at any place. Or you need to be fucking honest with yourself. Accentuate the positives and hide the negatives. If you’re stronger but slower, don’t get into a cardio match. If you’re faster but weaker, don’t test your strength. If you’re better but dumber, don’t let yourself get pulled into a war of strategy. I believe in you Aiden, and you will be Roulette Champion again. Internet Champion, hell even World Champion. Just not when it is me who decides it for you.”

“Bill, Aiden and fucking Eddie. Two years ago, I taught a masterclass. Two years later, you get to experience another class of the master. Keep your balance boys, or I’ll send you all fucking overboard. Have you been listening?”

“I need you to listen.”

He stood looking at the bow of the ship, and he knew he had to do it. Many had done it before him, and many would after. Eddie wasn’t even alive when the movie came out, but you can’t go on a boat and NOT do it right?
[/i]
He stood on the bow, stuck his arms out wide and yelled.

“I’M THE KING OF THE WOOOOOORLD!!!!” Eddie declared, as some other passengers rolled their eyes around him, but at least it was out of his system. What wasn’t on out of his system was the desire to be Roulette Champion again, a desire he intended to fulfill at Summer Xxxtreme.

He knew it wouldn’t be easy, he had lost to Aiden Reynolds once already, and Bill Barnhart as well. Either of them could beat him again, and Alexander Raven was an unknown quantity that Eddie had yet to face, but he was the champion, and as a former champion, Eddie knew that winning a championship didn’t come easy, and keeping it came even easier.

Of course Victoria had all but demanded victory from him, so The Lyons Den could have both Roulette Championships, and as much as she annoyed him, he did like the idea. The Lyons Den wasn’t as big of a name as something like Wolfslair, but they still produced some of the most respected talent, even someone as cruel as Victoria couldn’t have her skill denied.

He leaned against the rail of the ship, just watching as it sailed through the blue waters of the open sea, it was relaxing and the serene nature did well to help Eddie clear his mind so he could be fully ready for his match.

“You got this Eddie.” he said to himself ”Just focus, and do what you do best, and you’ll bring that championship home.”

He sighed, and took in some fresh sea air before finding a free lounge chair to lay back in, he had a championship to win true, but this was still a cruise and he’d be a fool not to find some time to enjoy himself, and just relax.

Earpods in, he laid back on the chair and closed his eyes, as he drifted off into a relaxed state, with only his music in his head.

~It's time to get back in the swing of things, When my life crashes, I'm not the guy that'll flee the scene….~

Get back in the swing of things…yes. That’s what he needed to do, leave it to music to speak to him once again. Regaining the Roulette Championship would be the perfect way to make that happen. He was ready, ready to give his all so he could leave his cruise as a champion once again.

___________

The cameras is open on Eddie Lyons standing on the starboard side of the ship somewhere, looking over the rail just observing the scenery of the nice blue sea and watching the seagulls fly overhead.

"Lovely scene isn't it Bill? I do hope you and Bea are having a nice time on this cruise and did find some time for yourselves" said Eddie. “Especially because you’re going to be vastly disappointed when you don’t walk out as champion. Because like it or not, you are the weak link in this match. Aiden, Alexander and myself all have a better track record than you. Somehow you keep squeaking into championship matches, you just never seem to be able to win them, and you can lord your one victory over me because you know it will never happen again, even if I don’t walk off this ship a champion, I know you won’t either. It will be Raven, Aiden or myself.

Eddie pauses for a moment

“If you think I’m wrong, then show me.” said Eddie, “Because everytime you talk this big game and can never really back it up. Alexander Raven is a douchebag, but he at least backs up his  mouth. I don’t feel I can say the same for you. Maybe you’re not as delusional as someone like Justin Smith, but you’re closer to him than you are the three of us. If somehow you DO walk out as champion and make me eat my words, then I’ll do the honorable thing and admit that I was wrong and you were the better man, but somehow I just don’t see that happening.”

Eddie shrugs.

“Prove me wrong I guess” he continued, “I just don’t see the winner of this match being Bill Barnhart. The rest of us want it so much more. Alexander Raven will have no intention of losing the Roulette Championship and will do whatever he can to remain champion.  Aiden is going to come harder than before because he had a small taste of being champion before my cousin Victoria involved herself for her own ridiculous bullshit. But none the less, that small taste he got is going to fuel him even more this time. Then you have me, who never got my rematch, because my cousin decided I didn’t deserve one so she gave it to Raven, also in hopes he would destroy Aiden for good. He didn’t do that, but he did take the championship from him, so I guess she was half successful in her mission there. But now, I finally get my chance to get back on top. I didn’t whine or complain about my rematch, I just waited because I believe in karma, and that good things happen to good people, and I believe that I will leave this cruise as a two time Roulette Champion."

Eddie turns to look to the cameras, straight on as he continues

“You’re going into this match with three hungry animals, a Raven, A Wolf and a Lion” he continued, “I’m not sure the bulldog can last. Can you clip the ravens wings? Can you tame the mighty lion, or the vicious wolf? Even as a former Roulette Champion yourself, I don’t believe you can. You just haven’t shown me the drive Aiden Reynolds has, or the willingness to do whatever it takes like Alexander Raven. I don’t think it’s too crazy to think you have the most to prove in this match. Your record should speak for itself. I mean a couple years ago, Alexander Raven won this very same match. Back then you were able to eliminate talent like Finn Whelan and Miles Kasey at the same time. Yet now look at the landscape since then, Finn Whelan is the best in the world right now, Miles Kasey isn’t too far behind him either. Alexander Raven is back on top of the division again, but you’ve fallen faster than the anchor of this ship.”

Eddie pauses, taking in a nice breath of fresh sea air.

“I just want you to show me Bill.” Eddie continued, “Show me the Bill Barnhart that’s been Roulette Champion twice. Because I’m an honest person, and my honest opinion is I’m just not that impressed, and I think your mouth is bigger than your ability to win matches. There is nothing YOU will be able to do to stop me from winning this match. I will win my championship back, and this time I won’t be getting ahead of myself with trying to break records. This time, I’ll just focus on being a fighting champion for a long as I can. If I do break a record, cool. If not, well then as long as I lose with honor as I did to Aiden Reynolds, then I’ll just pick myself up once again and fight my way back to the top, once again. Because as far as Eddie Lyons is concerned, it’s still and always will be HONOR BEFORE GLORY.

Eddie looks confidently into the cameras, as the scene slowly fades out to black.

__________

It was still a few days before the show, and this was a cruise. Eddie knew he would be a fool not to make the best of it. A nice relaxation session by the pool was more than welcome. While he wasn’t much of a drinker, he was enjoying the nice margarita he ordered, again it was a cruise so why not enjoy it?

As he laid back on one of the lounge chairs around the deck, in shorts and a pair of Raybans, he found his rest interrupted by one of the staff.

“Fresh towel sir?” the voice, female said to him.

“Oh, no thank you.” Eddie said, pushing his sunglasses up to his head, “I’m alright.”

The girl tilted her head, and looked at Eddie for a lingering moment.

“...Is that Eddie Lyons?” she asked.

“Yeah, that’s me.” said Eddie, “You want a picture? It’s totally cool if you do.”

“No, Eddie…” she said, “You don’t recognize me?”

Eddie raised an eyebrow, and sat more upright, the girl DID seem familiar, but from where?

“Sabrina Woods!” she exclaimed, “From High School! We were partners in chemistry during Junior year!”

Eddie’s eyes widened, as he remembered his old lab partner.

“Oh my gosh yes!” he said, “How have you been?”

“Just living life.” she replied, “Needed some extra cash so I took a job on this cruise. What about you?”

“I’m actually competing this weekend in the pro wrestling show.” he replied.

“That’s right!” Sabrina replied, “You’re family had that school, your dad wrestled too right?”

“He did.” Eddie nodded, “My uncles did too.”

“Hey whatever happened to your cousins?” she asked, “Victoria and Vincent. They were always pretty cool.”

Eddie smiled and laughed to himself.

“Well Vincent wrestled for a while too.” he said, “But now he left on some journey of self discovery on a sailboat, and Victoria is actually on this cruise too, she competes at the show as well.”

“Oh cool, I’ll have to say hi if I see her.” said Sabrina.

“I wouldn’t.” Eddie warned her, “She’s changed, and I doubt she’d be so receptive. I’m not sure what she’s going through but she’s done some pretty cruel things and made a lot of enemies in SCW. She’s even ruined a few of my matches."

“...Oh.” Sabrina seemed disappointed in the news about Victoria, “Such a shame, she was such a nice girl back then.”

“I know.” Eddie said, “Not much one can do about it though. She’s gonna be who she is.”

“Well, I’m glad you turned out alright.” Sabrina said with a flirtatious smile, “Good luck to you this weekend. I wish I could talk longer, but I’m on the clock and people need towels.”

“Damn..” Eddie said, disappointed he still wanted to catch up. He always thought Sabrina was cute in High School and could see the years were kind to her, “Well, when are you off?”

“My shift ends in a few hours.” she replied, “Why?”

“Maybe we could catch up over dinner?”
he said, “My treat? You pick the place?”

“Are you asking me on a date Eddie Lyons?” Sabrina said with a smile.

“Something like that.”
he said wish a sheepish grin.

“Well, how about Crown Grill at nine?” she replied, “I can get us am employee discount too.”

“Sounds good.” Eddie replied happily.

Then the two were interrupted by the call of another passenger.

“Towel girl!” the voice called, “Can I get a towel please!”

“Duty calls.” said Sabrina with a sigh, “See you at nine, Eddie Lyons.”

She winked at him, and smiled before going about her business and getting the passenger the requested towel. Eddie hadn’t expected to get a date on the ship as well, maybe it was just karma rewarding his good nature. Whatever it was he now had..just a few hours to get ready so he quickly made his way back to his room to get cleaned up for the evening.

__________

The cameras are rolling, and they open on Eddie on the balcony of his room, he’s leaning against the railing with a casual posture as he begins speaking.

“Your elbows are like bricks you know Aiden.” Eddie said, “I’m gonna have to do my best to avoid those if I am to recapture the Roulette Championship. It’s gonna be a tough battle, but I have my full confidence going in. I’m not coming to lose this match, and I doubt you are either. You took the belt from me after all, and I make no excuses about it. You were the better man that night. Case closed."

Eddie paused for a moment, and took in a breath

“Now Alexander Raven has the championship, all because my cousin wanted to be a bitch.” he said, “You know she’s demanding victory from me now? Suddenly she likes the idea of the two of us having Roulette Championships in SCW. I mean it’s not the worst thought, but I’m not going to act like her and guarantee victory in my match. I will say, if I don’t win. I hope you do Aiden. You deserve a better run than what you have, and we both know someone needs to shut Alexander Raven up. Bill, well he’s Bill. We know he likes to act tough, but has never been able to truly deliver. You and I Aiden, we are the heart and soul of this match, it’s up to us to give those other two knuckleheads a dose of reality.”

Eddie pauses again.

“Raven and Bill, they don’t truly understand what it means to be a champion.” Eddie continued, “They don’t understand the honor that comes with being a champion, they just want to pad their own records, and be able to tout their own ego. You and I would hold that championship proudly, with honor and respect. We would act as proper champions, and inspire the wrestlers of tomorrow to keep reaching for their goals. None of us are better than any of the other. It’s more a matter of character, and Bill and Raven both have no real positive character to speak of. At least you show respect Aiden, and I hope you show me the respect I deserve when I recapture the Roulette Championship. And you know what? I think you will. No, I know you will. Should you manage to regain the championship, then I will do the same.”

Eddie pounds his chest with his fist, to show some solidarity or respect to Aiden.

“We need to do this Aiden. We need to restore some honor.” Eddie continued, “One of us needs to take that championship and restore some honor to it. While I’ll be happy to see you as champion, and will show you the respect you deserve, don’t get it confused. I’m still coming for blood, and if taking your head and punting it into the sea is what I need to do to win, then I will. Because when that bell rings, all I understand is that it’s go time and everyone else, sans the referee is my enemy.  That includes you, respect or not. From bell to bell you’re nothing but an opponent trying to take me out. One that’s already done it before, so I know how dangerous you really are. So I need to up my game, and that means taking no prisoners and putting it all on the line.”

Eddie nods, and exhales heavily.

“Does suck this cruise has to end soon, I’ve been having a really good time enjoying some of the shows and the food, and just the  nature of the open sea. It’s very serene and has done well to calm me, and get me in a more focused state." [/color]said Eddie, "Just something about the open sea I find relaxing. Come Sunday however, the relaxing will be done and it’s back to business. My business, and my business is that Roulette Championship and winning it once again. I’m coming for a fight, and that goes for all three of you. I’ll see you and those other two goons on Sunday Aiden, until then you and Kallie enjoy yourselves and good luck when that bell rings, cause it’s gonna be nothing short of a war."

Eddie looks into the camera with confidence as the scene fades out.

_________

Eddie wanted to do something nice for his date with Sabrina later than evening and had bought a Stanley Bear from one of the cruises gift shops as a gift for the young lady, he was on his way back to the hotel when he came across a group of young men,  slightly drunk and being a little raucous, he sought to ignore them when he noticed one was wearing his cousin Victorias crown. Most in SCW would keep walking, feeling as though Victoria deserved it and he did consider it, however his honor got the better of him, and despite Victorias transgressions he felt he had to do the right thing.

“Hey guys, check it out.” the one wearing the crown said to his frat boy looking friends as he talked in a mocking tone “I am your Queen! The great Victoria Lyons! Join me, we can be STRONGER TOGETHER. Please will somebody worship me? Please? Pleaseeeee? I need attention!”

“Hey, where’d you get that my friend?” Eddie asked, getting the young mans attention.

“Oh woah! Eddie Lyons.” said the guy, “Dudebro, your cousin left this next to her when she was sleeping, since she’s such a bitch to everyone I swiped it. We’re all tired of hearing about her being some sort of queen.”

“What’s your name my friend?” asked Eddie politely

“Chad.”
the guy replied.

“Well Chad.” said Eddie, “I know she’s not been very nice, but you shouldn’t stoop to her level. The crown doesn’t belong to you. You need to return it.”

“Why would I do that?” Chad said with a flair of arrogance

“Because it’s the right thing to do man.” Eddie said, “You took someones property, that’s not cool man. Even if it is someone like my annoying cousin.”

“But she’s going to FLIP when she wakes up.”
said Chad with a laugh, “It’ll be hilarious.”

His other friends seemed to agree and laughed along with Chad.

“C’mon guys.” said Eddie again, “Just give me the crown, I’ll take it back to her, or do we need to get security involved? I imagine Victoria already did, so they’re probably looking for it now. You’re here for the show right?”

“Yeah man.” said Chad, “Good luck to you by the way.”

“Well thank you for that.” Eddie said, “But if you get caught, they might put you in boat jail for the rest of the trip, and you’ll miss the show.”

“They won’t catch me.” Chad replied.

“Just give me the crown man.” said Eddie, “Let’s not make this difficult, because I see a security guard just down the hall.”

Chad looked, and indeed there was a guard at the other end of the hall.

“Hey Secur…” Eddie started, but was cut short by Chad holding out the crown.

Eddie took the crown into his own arms, and was even nice enough to take a picture with the frat boys before he headed up to the Grand Suite area where SCW had roomed all it’s champions to knock on Victorias door.

She answered the door after a moment and he held the crown out to her.

“.....Lose something?” he asked.

She glared at him, with a look of annoyance.

“WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?” she said as she snatched the crown from his grasp, “WAS IT YOU? DID YOU STEAL IT?”

Eddie couldn’t believe it, she really thought he had done it.

“Seriously?” he responded, “Seriously?”  “You really think I would do that? No I didn’t steal your crown, but I did find it. Some fan had it. I had to convince him to give it back. You should really be more careful with your stuff. I’m only bringing this to you, because it’s your property and it’s just the right thing to do.”

“Well, isn’t that noble of you.” Victoria said rolling her eyes.

“Just doing what’s right.” said Eddie.

“Well, at least I have it back. Now I can look like a proper queen for my match.” said Victoria.

”Indeed.” said Eddie with a disinterested tone.

“See you around cousin.” Victoria said, as Eddie found the door slammed in his face.

“...Thank you Eddie?” he said to himself, but he knew he should have expected no less. Still he felt good enough with himself he had done the right thing. Not only was it just the ring thing, but had he not he knew she would never stop complaining about it, and nobody on the SCW roster deserved to deal with any of that.

“Good luck to you this weekend cuzzo.” Eddie said as he walked off from the door, back to his own hotel room, as he still had that date to later to get ready for.

__________

As the scene opens, Eddie sits shirtless on his bed, a towel around his neck after just finishing up a shower. He looks up to the camera and starts speaking.

“How we doin’ champ?” he said, clearly addressing Roulette Champion Alexander Raven, “Well I hope, because after SummerXXXtreme you won’t be doing so well, because that championship is coming back to me.”

Eddie took the towel to wipe some water still left on his face.

“You sure don’t like me do you Raven?” said Eddie, “And for what? What have I done other than go out there and fight each and every time? Because you don’t like my attitude? Well, that’s your prerogative but all I’m doing is being true to myself. If you don’t like that, then that’s your problem. I’m not changing myself or my beliefs for anyone.”

Eddie continued to look into the camera.

“I’m sure to people like yourself, that means failure.” he said, “You can mock me for losing my belt, blah blah blah. I’m not letting that get to me, you win some you lose some and come Sunday you’ll have to deal with the losing side of things because you are NOT walking out Roulette Champion. I am.”

Eddie paused for a moment, before continuing.

“The only reason you even got a championship match is because of my cousins power trip.” Eddie continued, “And to your credit you capitalized and won. Now you have to be on the defense and I can assure you this lion is hungry and he’s coming for blood. I can assure you the wolf is coming for blood of his own, and the Bulldog? Well he’s gonna show his might as much as he can as well. The numbers are really against you in this one, and your chances of survival are minimal. But like I said to Aiden, and Bill as well. You win, I will admit you were the better man that night, and move on to whatever the company has planned for me next.”

He took another moment to pause, as he continued his address of Alexander Raven

“You’re about to find out what I’m really about Raven.” said Eddie “You’ve wanted to try and take me out since you mentioned my name at the press conference the night I won the championship. You said you wanted to remind me of my place beneath my betters.”

Eddie laughed to himself.

“I don’t know what your deal is with me man” said Eddie “But I guess it’s time you learn who Eddie Lyons is, and you learn the true meaning of being UNBREAKABLE. My drive, my spirit will never be broken. Especially not by the likes of you. You can run your mouth all you want, but after SummerXXXtreme, you will learn why Eddie Lyons is one of the toughest fighters in the company. You will realize that I am a whole lot better than you give me credit for and you will be forced to witness me become a two time Roulette Champion at YOUR expense. Right now, I have nothing to lose and that’s where I become most dangerous. Taking me lightly is going to be your biggest mistake, you better open your own eyes real quick or else I am going to clip the wings of the raven, and send him crashing into the waters below and I will do it with HONOR BEFORE GLORY.”

Eddie gives his best look of confidence and determination as the scene closes.

The Crown Grill was really nice, and Eddie had worn his bets button up and did look rather charming for the occasion, across from him sat Sabrina Woods, the old high school friend he ran into earlier in the day in a lovely yellow dress of her own, she smiled at the Stanley Bear that Eddie had gifted her.

“Awww he’s cute.” said Sabrina with a smile, “Thank you Eddie.”

“Of course.” Eddie said kindly.

They both smiled at each other, as they waited the arrival of their food. Eddie had gone for the Rib-Eye, while the lady had opted for the New York Strip. A bottle of white wine also sat iced on the table for them to share.”

“Wine?” asked Eddie.

“Please.” Sabrina replied, to which Eddie promptly poured some wine in her glass, and then some for himself.

“Salud.” he said, as they clinked glasses and took a sip. It did taste pretty delicious.

“So how have you been?”
he asked her.

“Pretty good.” she said “Still living in North Carolina, sort of between jobs at the moment. What about you?”

“Just doing the wrestling thing.”
said Eddie, “Keeping up the family legacy and all that. It’s been fun I got to tour Europe. The travel can be much sometimes, but it;’s worth it when I get in the ring and hear the fans cheering and chanting for me.”

“Wow I’ve never been to Europe.” said Sabrina, “Never really been out the US. This cruise might be the farthest I’ve traveled from US soil.”

“Ha, well it’s a beautiful world out there.” said Eddie.

“I’d love to see it sometime.” replied Sabrina.

“Well, maybe I can arrange that.” Eddie said with a smile.

The two continued their evening laughing together, talking about old stories from high school like when some Freshman hit a beehive with a baseball, and the following chaos of screaming students, or when Jimmy Nelson came to school in a dress. Good times and great memories, and it seemed like the two of them were going to be making more at the rate the date was going, the food was delicious as well and as his day came to an end and he bid Sabrina goodnight, he did indeed get the kiss and a promise to stay in contact after the cruise ended. It was then, with that kiss Eddie knew that even if he lost his match this weekend, he would still feel like a winner.
