“Happy New Year……...I guess!”
« on: January 03, 2020, 08:31:54 PM »
The New Year was here and with it came the start of SCW’s Homecoming Tour starting with the now former World Bombshell Champion’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, Caleb was looking to kick of the New Year in the right direction as this week he was going one on one with Travis Levitt whose return to SCW was a controversial one as he attacked Griffin Hawkins after he had successfully defended the Roulette Championship against Mark Cross at December to Dismember IV, can Caleb win?

So, how was your Christmas/New Years?

After spending the first half of December in constant fear of having to face Fenris again in the Chamber only for my fears to end up being for naught when I was eliminated before Fenris entered the match my December was fairly uneventful, spent Christmas with my family, brought in the New Year in the usual manner (translation: playing “2 Minutes to Midnight” by Iron Maiden at exactly 11:58pm on New Year’s Eve) and shielding the new puppy from the fireworks.

Oh yeah, that happened as well.

For those who missed it, my proceeds from December to Dismember went to the ASPCA and the day after the PPV me and Katie did a photoshoot with the Las Vegas ASPCA, and as soon as the photoshoot was over we didn’t head to the car, instead Katie dragged me around the shelter insisting that we adopt a dog and we ended up falling in love with a Golden Labrador Puppy who was initially called Max, we renamed him Lemmy and took him home the same day.

And yes, he is going on the road with us.

We spent the rest of December figuring out how to make it work but in the end we figured out how this would work, whenever SCW was a US state we would research hotels in the area that allowed us to have dogs in the room and didn’t mind how big the dog got (and Lemmy isn’t my first Labrador, I had one growing up and I know how big and energetic they get) and book our hotels there even if that meant us booking separate hotels from the rest of the roster, we would take him to shows as well and whilst I’m wrestling Katie will look after him backstage.

As for going overseas/Bloodstock? For Bloodstock we got Katie’s family to look after him for us, otherwise we’ll be taking him with us overseas, either way this is going to be interesting.

“No Lemmy, don’t pick a fight with that much larger dog.” I said as I pulled back on Lemmy’s lead as he went after a full grown German Shephard that was being walked by another dog owner, we still weren’t sure how Lemmy was around other dogs and we wanted to play it safe for now and thankfully the other dog walked right on bye and didn’t even notice the adorable puppy jumping up and down at the site of him. “Pretty sure he’d eat you for breakfast.”

“Not sure what your so worried about.” Katie commented before she knelt down and stroked Lemmy. “I mean, he and his litter were born at the shelter.”

“Yeah but those were his brothers and sisters, not to mention parents.” I pointed out before Katie stood back up. “Other dogs I’m not sure about, come to think of it, why weren’t his parents spayed and neutered?”

“I did ask about that, apparently his mom was already pregnant when they were dropped off at the shelter.” Katie responded as she stood back up and we continued on our way. “But yeah, as long as we keep introducing him to other dogs, he’ll be okay, we know that Candy and Bella Madison have puppies as well so they’d be a good starting point at least.”

“True enough, then again just how many dog owners are on the SCW roster anyway?” I wondered as we came to an open patch of grass and I grabbed Lemmy’s tennis favorite toy ready to play some fetch with him, after a while we moved onto sticks and before long Lemmy came back with a bunch of sticks that likely weighed more than his body weight which begged the question of how exactly he was carrying them in his mouth, and on the next go around he came back with a familiar canine face.

“Guess you didn’t have to worry about him with older dogs after all.” Katie commented as the German Shepherd from before played with the much younger and smaller Labrador puppy and his owner came running up. “Hope Lemmy isn’t too much for your dog to handle, it’s his first walk.”

“Don’t worry about it, Tyson’s a gentle giant.” The shepherd’s owner assured us as we watched the two dogs play, and I was thankful that we spent most of December training the puppy because I’d hate to imagine what would happen otherwise. “Hey, aren’t you from SCW? Caleb Storms?” Oh boy, we met a fan on Lemmy’s first walk!

“Yeah, that’s me, and yes, that is the same dog I adopted over the holidays.” I assured him as I motioned to Lemmy before the dogs ran up to us, Katie stroked Tyson whilst I, after signing an autograph for the fan and Tyson, picked up Lemmy and he licked my face. “We’re still getting him introduced to other dogs like Tyson.”

“Yeah, it’s good to introduce them early, get them used to other dogs and whatnot.” The fan nodded before he picked up Tyson’s lead. “Well, I’d better get going, nice meeting you.” The fan added before he jogged off with Tyson, once they were gone Katie took over playing fetch with Lemmy whilst I got ready to do my promo.

“Happy New Year……….i guess! I was so worried about facing Fenris in the chamber that getting eliminated as early as I was could be seen as a blessing in disguise but more importantly the New Year and SCW’s homecoming tour is upon is starting right here in Atlanta, Georgia and my first match of 2020 is against a fellow former Roulette Champion who made his return at December to Dismember IV last month by attacking the current Roulette Champion Griffin Hawkins, that’s right, it’s Travis Levitt!”

This should be good.

“I’m not going into this match underestimating Travis, I know how hard it is to hold onto any title for a length of time, let alone the Roulette Title and as I just said, we’re both former Roulette Champions! And as for what Travis was after when he attacked Griffin last month, isn’t it obvious? He’s after the Roulette Title and if I can beat him this Sunday at the first Climax Control of the New Year then that might put a damper on his plans.”

Which would be good for me.

“I didn’t get to fulfil my New Year’s Resolution last year, end the year as champion, though it wasn’t for a lack of trying on my part but it’s a new year and a new opportunity for me to focus on two resolutions, number one: don’t piss off Fenris, number two: win a title, any title as long as I can compete for it and a win over Travis this Sunday will be a huge step in the right direction for me in terms of achieving the second goal, the first one? Well that’s going to take a lot more effort as we’ve already seen.”

It’s that simple.

“2019 wasn’t my best year, the fact that I only won two matches in that whole year pretty much spells that out perfectly but as I said, it’s a new year, a fresh start and I plan on winning a lot more matches in 2020 and that starts this Sunday with the returning Travis Levitt but at the end of the day, there can only be one winner in this match and as far as I’m concerned, it’s going to be the one who got a Labrador puppy for Christmas! Okay it was two weeks before Christmas, but Katie revealed that she had been planning to do this all year anyway!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“2020 will be great for a number of reasons, the moron in the white house may finally get kicked out, Bloodstock is shaping up to be epic and I’m going to win a lot more matches than I did in 2019 starting with Travis Levitt this Sunday at Climax Control, Travis may have just returned but he had still better brace himself because there’s a storm brewing, otherwise he’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms!”

I joined in the playtime with Lemmy as the scene fades.
