“Yeh know this wasn't what me expected when me —”
“Let me guess. You're having second thoughts teaming up with GDL.”
“Yeh pretty good at this.”
“Sometimes I'm not so sure. But I'm thinking the same thing about the Mean Girls.”
[[Mercedes pushes a hand through her hair and leans on the door frame of her bedroom. A lot was on her mind in the wake of the past week. Through black-rimmed glasses, she surveys Mickey's face, which reads a cloud of emotions. He was brooding, and it was impassive and unnerving because she wasn't used to seeing him that way. Anything would be better than this. Angry would suit her just fine.]]
Mickey: Do yeh have any idea what yer doing?
Mercedes: I think that question is open to interpretation, isn't it?
[[Mercedes trudges into the kitchen. She pokes her head inside the fridge in search of a carton of milk, then bumps her head. She turns in the direction of a large bird cage where an Amazon parrot is housed before slamming the fridge door.]]
Mercedes: It's crazy. I mean, I like to think I know what I'm doing. It's not how I drew it up, I'll admit. I still think I'm in the right and made the right decision.
Mickey: And that supposed t' make it better?
[[She turns around and faces him, folding her arms.]]
Mercedes: I didn't say that. I said I think I made the right decision, but people keep making plans for my life and I'm tired of hearing it. I'm going to live my life and live with the consequences. If people don't like it, that's not my problem.
Mickey: What about my problem? What yeh make of G and Delia giving me the cold shoulder? It's not fair and it's not right!
Mercedes: Giani can be a little hot-headed, but he's Italian. Go figure. Delia's French. She can't help being a snob. You have a temper just as bad as Giani. Veronica is, well, Veronica. And then there's me. We're kind of like the United Nations. One big, happy family. Don't let them get to you.
[[ Families fight all the time. This family would be no different. With the greatest collection of egos in the Bad Boys and the Mean Girls, tempers were sure to flare at any given moment. That was part of the territory. Mickey slowly stands to his feet, shaking his head.]]
Mickey: Do yeh still plan on going through with it?
Mercedes: Are you?
Mickey: I don't know. Yeh have to do a little convincing to get me to work with Giani again.
Mercedes: If we're going to have to work out your differences, that can be arranged, but you'll both get over this. Trust me.
[[ With a sigh Mercedes makes a hasty exit. This meeting was a bad idea, like she had known it would be. Mickey long stare would stop her just as she reaches for the door.]]
Mickey: It's going to take more than that, Mercy.
[[Mercedes sighs.]]
Mercedes: Then I guess I'll have to have enough trust for the both of us.

[Mercedes set up the small camera she had brought with her. When she spoke her voice was practically a sultry whisper.]
“So, where do I start? Where do I begin with this video? Should I talk about how I've hit a wall lately, that's it's been over three months since I last won a match? The fact that I had just seven wins to my name in 2016? Maybe about how I wasted countless opportunity at challenging for my ninth championship and falling each time.”
[Mercedes pauses for a moment, looking upward as if seeking guidance from the heavens before she snaps her finger and points at the camera.]
“Oh, I know. Let's start with Inception. The preview for my match sure was something. I almost couldn't read most of it without laughing my ass off. You know, I get that the people who type this stuff have to make things interesting and bring hype to get those fans excited, but there is such a thing as libel. To say that I turned my back on the SCW fans? This kind of stuff is serious and while I would demand an apology, I’m going to let this slide. You want the truth? You can't handle the truth. I didn’t “turn my back on the fans”, I faced the music. Despite six months of not being the World Bombshell Champion, despite my career going into a downward spiral, I knew then what I knew now. Joining the Mean Girls was an easy decision.
“You don’t need to tell me that I’m not going to have an easy time in my match. I was content with just beating Celeste North within an inch of her life, but SCW upped the ante. I get that the Mean Girls have been a thorn to SCW and the rest of the Bombshells lockerroom. I get that Celeste is mad as hell and is itching to get her hands on me, but, again, I was content with this match being just between us. Leave it to SCDub to raise the stakes, and boy did they ever. Surround the ring with practically the entire Bombshells roster to prevent interference from the Mean Girls?”
“Wait, hold the phone. You mean to tell me I’m going to be boxed in and forced to look at the women who hate and despise us? That I’m going to be by my lonesome and forced to look over my shoulder at every turn? I’d call this unfair and barbaric, if not criminal, but you know what, Christian? I think I know the real reason why all those girls will be surrounding that ring: It's not to prevent the Mean Girls from running interference, it’s not even because you gave them their marching orders. No, it’s because that's where they're supposed to be. That's the distance that separates us from them. The haves from the have-nots. The hunters from the huntys. The amazing and extraordinary from the average and ordinary. All of those girls surrounding the ring will be left fantasizing about the day they will become as great as any of us, but that's not going to happen. It's as close as they'll ever be of reaching greatness. It's as close as they'll ever going to get a chance at greatness. Not one of them, not a DAMN one of them, is even worthy of lacing up our boots.”
“At one time or another, we’ve held gold and proved that we’re pretty good. That one time where we left with all the titles in the division in one night? That proved we’re better than you, all of you.
“What we did to Celeste could have happened to any one of you. It could have been Samantha Marlowe in that ring…it could have been Song, Alana Allure or Chelsea Payne...maybe even Melody Grace or Crystal Millar or Mikah. That should be a terrifying revelation for every Bombshell on the roster, but they're probably riding a little too high right now to realize that. So well done, Christian…round of applause to you for this master plan.
[She does a slow, mocking round of applause.]
“Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Now, there is a key word here: It’s not times or measures – it’s desperate. Even though I will find a way to way to win this match – and leave Inception like I did last year with my hand raised – I know better than to overstep my boundaries. But that doesn’t mean I won’t do so on Sunday.
“I’m sure there will be some big names to fill this match. Current champions, former champions, future champions, basics, haters – they all seem to have it out for us, and some can’t even let go of the past. Now, I’m going to have to deal with them – and Celeste – with virtually no chance of escape. It would be fair to say that the deck has been stacked against me and the odds aren’t in my favor. But if you’ve followed my career, you know that against all odds, I’ve ran the table. To that, I say bring it on. Come one, come all. Because whether it’s a lockerroom of Bombshells or the damn National Guard, they’re not out there to prevent me from getting to them, they’re in there to prevent me from getting to Celeste.”

I didn't become one of the top Bombshells in SCW or thee ONLY EIGHT-TIME champion in history overnight. I achieved my success through hard work, dedication and perseverance, and when you look up 'average' in the dictionary, you see a picture of the many Bombshells who have waltzed through this company.
People like Celeste North is by no means average, but you would think that with the god-given talent she has that she would be better than she is now. Instead, Celeste hates the person that looks back at her in the mirror. In fact, she hates the person she's become – a nobody.
Funny that, because The Nobodies stable could have been the next best thing after NXT, maybe even the Seven Deadly Sins. The Nobodies were new, they were different and they showed a lot of promise, but for some reason never really got off the ground. It’s kind of sad when you think about it now, especially after they went their separate ways. Johnny Tsunami is no longer with the company, Tim and Alexis are married, Kris Halc is teaming up with his brother and now holding the World Tag Tittles, and then there’s you…
You never could leave well enough. Celeste, you could have taken the blue pill, living a simple, happy life in SCW. You could have had a whole lot of success, accolades, fame, glory and praises. You could've done so many great things in your run thus far that would prove you're as smart and dedicated as you claim. You could go try and beat Amy Marshall for the umpteenth time... You and Alexis could have another go and try to snatch the World Bombshell Tag Titles off The Female Elders... Hell, you could even try to square off with Crystal Millar and end her World Bombshell Title run, and that would be a smarter idea than what you did at the go-home show before the supercard. You could have had it all.
... But instead, you decided to blame SCW for being a failure.
Instead, Celeste, you took the red pill, wanting to see just how deep the rabbit hole goes. Well, welcome to Wonderland, bitch, because after putting your hands on the Mean Girls, and more specifically ME, you are NEVER going to find your way back home.
Like the lyrics to your song says, ‘you’re a nobody wanna be somebody.’ No need to worry about that because while it may be a new year, the Mean Girls are happy to oblige and go out of our way to make you famous. If we can help Hall of Famers like Misty and Vixen and ordinary hitwoman like Joanne Canelli, then there’s hope for you yet.
You wanted to piss me off, you did it. I'm going to make sure you get what's coming to you. It will not be pretty, and it will not be anything short of the worst beating I've given anybody. The last person who got on my bad side was your former stablemate, Alexis - yes, the same one who got lucky against me a few weeks ago – but luck, let alone divine intervention, wasn’t on her side that night. She nearly ended my career, I ended her title reign. You could even say we’re even because her career took a hit after that and never recovered. If she wants to turn to Austin Parker in hopes of reviving her career, more power to her. It still won’t change the fact that I beat her when it mattered.
Like her, you want to waste my time and make this about you? Go ask Zuri Chastain how that turned out for her and how I kicked her ass at every turn…if she’s not busy at some kid’s birthday party or comic book convention.
I don’t know if you know this, but I’m not the kind of person that forgives or forgets. After you lost the Bombshell Roulette Championship to Veronica, you should have accepted your defeat, collect your paycheck and go away quietly, but that’s not how you’re wired, is it? I get that Evie Baang is unpredictable, I get that Twisted Sister is batshit crazy. But I’m a Latina….You have no idea how crazy I can get. You should have known from the start you were playing a dangerous game. You went first, but you made the wrong move.
Outside of our previous encounters, I’ve ignored you up until this point because I couldn’t care less about who is Celeste North. Now? A Nobody will become a Somebody. And as that voiceover guy from the movies used to say: This time, it’s for real.
Come Inception, Celeste, I'm coming down to the ring not just to beat you, but to embarrass and humiliate you even worse than I did to Alexis. And after all is said and done, when the bell rings, after we put on a show the fans will never forget, one thing is for sure, two things for certain, I'm going to make you regret the moment you dared leave that lockerroom and crush your dreams like the insolent cockroach you are.
Not every story has a happy ending. Oh, what could have been.

[Open on Mercedes Vargas who is pacing in the living room of her apartment, days after the events of Climax Control 169. She appears to be out of it, mumbling in Spanish, only occasionally speaking English as she glances at her iPad, which is replaying the final moments of her match. Veronica Taylor looks on, even more pissed off after recent events. The final seconds of the video plays out before Mercedes turns to Veronica.]
Mercedes: Vero, tell me that did not just happen?
Veronica: That did not just happen.
[As Veronica says this, Mercedes turns to the camera, clearly animated.]
Mercedes: OH, BUT IT DID! You know, let’s start off with my story here, coming off the second SCW show of 2017. That’s now TWO TIMES I got screwed out of MY title! Yes, I said ‘my title’ because everybody knows I had Polly Playtime beat! I had that match won! I should be celebrating my second reign as Bombshell Internet Champion, but nooooooo! Once again someone just had to stick their nose in another one of my matches!
Veronica: Once is by accident, twice is by coincid -
Mercedes: Don’t you finish that, Vero. What happened last week was NO coincidence, and the first time sure as hell was no accident. Polly had her foot on the ropes in our first match and I bet she was sitting on her flight back to Utah early Monday morning knowing full well she stole another one on Sunday night thanks to Celeste North…
[Mercedes pauses and enunciates the name to herself, but shakes her head as if the word didn't sound right.]
Mercedes: The only reason that ring didn’t become a CSI crime scene is because I was still unconscious. And it’s only the grace of God and the best efforts of the ref that prevented me from reaching across and snapping that bitch’s neck. Celeste not only cost me my match but put her hands on me? She just asking for a deathwish now. And at Inception, Celeste, I’m going to grant it.
You're going to wish you never came down to that ring. You're going to wish that you never decided to get involved in my match. You’re going to wish that you never put your hands on me. You want to make a statement? You want to prove a point? You want the Bombshell Roulette Title back? I’ve got news for you: you’re not getting it back. And neither is Amy Marshall. Because she’s about to get a reality check in three days. SCW talks about earning your way to title matches, but rewards people who attack people after matches. That seems fair. It’s not the first time Amy has done this, but it will end the same way – walking out empty-handed.
Veronica: And that goes for Kate Steele and Jessie Salco. Like, I don’t get the fascination with the Metal and Punk Connection, but if any of their fans or any wrestling fan in general with half a brain think they’re leaving with the World Bombshell, Internet and Roulette Titles in one night, they should refill their prescription or seek therapy.
Mercedes: They won’t be the only one needing therapy. Celeste, I don’t care if you and Alexis are still nobodies wanna be somebodies, who your mom was or whatever grumbles and gripes you have with SCW. What you SHOULD be worried about is whether you'll still have a career after Sunday!
