Change is sometimes a good thing. People change for all kind of reasons. Me? I promised myself that I would never change, because I don't need to. After I left the MGs, people thought I would suddenly give up my ways and, for awhile, it worked. I never cheat in matches only because I rather just win on my own accord than having to use a weapon or interference to win.

That hasn't changed since I rejoined the MGs.

Am I surprised about the backlash coming or already have my way? Not really. I've been wrestling long enough to know that you can't please everybody. I've long since said that I'm only here to further my own career. Do I care whether the fans cheer or boo me? Nope. Still don't. Makes no difference to me either way. Joining the Mean Girls hasn't changed who I am, hasn't changed the fact that I've accomplished mostly everything that there is to do in SCDub, hasn't changed my passion for the sport or the sacrifice and hard work I've put in my career.

So, two weeks ago, when one heinous deed sent a ripple effect throughout the Bombshells Division that will be felt for years to come, when the world saw the return of the most infamous stable of all time, there was one question standing in the way.

Why should we?

I mean, maybe Amy was right, you know? The division was swimming along, new stars were born, women were given opportunities to prove themselves, the veterans were coming into their own. Basically, life was good. If it wasn't for the Metal and Punk Connection, Team Hero and Natalie McKinley, chances are the Mean Girls would still rule the roost.

Of course, it was our own demise that led to the breakup more than a year ago. Since then, though, we've had some success since we went our separate ways. Delia and I became World Bombshell Tag Team Champions, Veronica won her first singles title since she first set foot in the company, and I won my first World Bombshell Championship and completed the Grand Slam.

Still, I can't ignore the big elephant in the room. 2016 was supposed to be different, it was going to be my coming out party and my name would be etched in history joining this year's class in the hall of fame. Instead, I'm on pace to having the worst year ever since I came here. My win-loss record have been shot, and only one Bombshell was inducted in this year's hall of fame: Roxi Johnson. As hard as that is for me to say, she's earned that right,, but I think another Bombshell at least should have joined the list.

So, I had an opportunity to end the year with championship gold and it didn't happen. I had Polly on the ropes, but at the end of the night I lost the match - and she had her foot on the ropes. Life is unfair, but that's just about as close as it gets when it comes to title matches you should have won, and I couldn't get the job done. Will my success rate change now that I'm back with Delia and Vero? Maybe. Then again, maybe not.

My success in SCW wasn't because of the Mean Girls, it was in spite of them and people don't seem to get that for some reason. Matter of fact, we all succeeded without having to help each other. Amy Marshall took it upon herself to influence Christian Underwood to ban us from own matches at Violent Conduct II and, well, you know the rest. The answer for me is obvious, and I don't feel like I should have to justify it. And yet I will.

Together, we're damn near impossible to beat. On our own, we're just as dangerous.

If you think for a second that joining the Mean Girls again will slow me down, that I'm going to be a stepping stone to anybody, then you don't know the pure adrenaline of competiting and winning. And it burns now more than ever. The desire to be the best I've ever been.

That hasn't left me.

That hasn't changed, and it never will.

I was a winner before the Mean Girls, I was a winner with them, I was a winner when they broke up, and it will be the same during our second act.

At Climax Control 165, those fans thought they were getting a show, but they, just like the Bombshells lockerroom, fell for it. But if you thought what happened two weeks ago was something, you haven't seen anything yet.

Critics can say we don't belong in SCW, but it's going to fall on deaf ears. They can say we made the division into a joke, but they'll be in the minority. They can even say our comeback tour will turn into an epic fail, but they'll be in the wrong. So, so wrong.

Another year will be over and a new one will just begun. The Mean Girls Reunion Tour will roll on into 2017. For the Bombshells, we welcome the challenge of trying to stop us.

No, wait. Stop us? Ha! You can barely hope to contain us.

[Since she dropped matches against Melody Grace, Alexis Edwards and Polly Playtime over the last few weeks, former World Bombshell Champion Mercedes Vargas has been laying low. Yet no one expected Vargas to appear with Veronica Taylor during the latter's confrontation with Celeste North during a backstage segment in which Taylor and North was determining the stipulation to their title match at the roulette wheel.

What was supposed to be a simple title match between Taylor and North, with Vargas and Delia Darling accompanying the opponents in their corners, turned out to be one of the most infamous incidents in recent memory on an SCW broadcast.

In a No Disqualification match for the Bombshell Roulette Championship, the match saw referee Holly Wood attack North followed by Darling hitting her finisher on her as well and sending her crashing through the mirror, prompting Taylor to hit her finisher on North through a second mirror, which was sent in by Darling and Vargas. By then, the fans knew they were duped by the Mean Girls as the victory marked the reunion of the villainous group, and plenty of controversy behind it.

Despite herself, Vargas, wearing a Santa Clause hat, can't stop smiling.
]

“Christmas is all about giving gifts, right? I think this is the gift that keeps on giving.”

[The shocking outcome of Climax Control 165, the show following High Stakes, was the talking point during the week. Last week, at Climax Control 166, the clarion call came from the Metal and Punk Connection, the team of Jessie Salco and Amy Marshall and one of the more prominient rivals of the group, who introduced Kate Steele into their fold. The trio won't give up the Bombshells Division without a fight. Vargas, though, thinks that while the words were inspiring, it won't change the outcome of the Mean Girls taking over SCW once again.]

“Look, if the Metal and Punk Connection want a battle, we're game. We'll gladly accept the challenge. Last time, it was only too easy. Hopefully, Jess and Amy make it worthwile. Otherwise, what's the point, really?”

[In the meantime, Vargas, who has lost three in a row and four of her last five matches will end 2016 the same she started it. This weekend, she teams with Bombshell Roulette Champion Veronica Taylor against Kate Steele and Melody Grace, and Vargas says while she has yet to beat the longest reigning Bombshell Internet Champion in Grace, she's anxious to get that first win, regardless of who gets the pinfall.]

“You know how you always tell yourself that you're one scratch card away from winning the lottery, and you're there watching late night TV and the results come on and then you found out you got those numbers? I think Sunday I'm going to hit the jackpot at CC 167 and finally get my payday.”

[The "jackpot" reference could also refer to the final card of the year also being at Las Vegas' Gold Coast Casino, one of SCW's favorite venues, which has hosted three previous SCW shows in its history, including the final show of 2013 on December 22nd and two supercards: Blaze of Glory II on March 3, 2013 and Into the Void III on July 20, 2014. As for her first match as a Mean Girl in 2016?]

"It's the best news I've heard all week."

[[Los Angeles. My kind of town. Well, not really, but I like that everything's faster, grimier, and, well, sunnier. The people here are okay, too. Santa Monica, not so much. But I'm not complaining.]]

[Mercedes is watching soaps on the television in her cousin’s living room. Carmen enters her house seeing this and goes for something in the kitchen. When she returns, she points a second remote at the television.]

Carmen: (annoyed) Mercedes, it's almost Christmas. Why the hell do you still have your Halloween decorations still up?

[[ I'm usually too bothered not to respond, because it always come up. I guess that makes me THAT neighbor, right?]]

[Cut to Mercedes at her kitchen table eating a bowl of Lucky Charms while wearing a mini Leprechan hat with a minature Irish flag pinned to it..]

Carmen: Mercedes, it's the Fourth. Why the hell do you still have your St. Patrick's Day decorations still up?

Mercedes: What?

[Cut to Mercedes at the dinner table with her family. Her parents give her puzzled looks as they look at what's on their plates. Her brother, Jorge, looks even more confused. He raises his hand as if he was in class.]

Jorge: Um, Mercy, why are we having turkey, on Groundhog's Day?

[Cut to a flashback of Mercedes' old apartment in Queens, New York. A week after coming home from an exhausting match. Her luggage is all across the living room and she is lying on the couch looking up at the ceiling as we hear holiday music plays in the background.]

♫♫Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...
♫♫

[Carmen comes over from the kitchen with two cups of hot cocoa and sets one of them down on the coffee table.]

Carmen: (annoyed) Mercedes, it's the middle of April. Why the hell do you still have your Christmas tree still up?

[Mercedes sits up and takes a sip of her cocoa.]

Mercedes: Why not? It looks so go by the pumpkin.

[Cut to the Christmas tree where we see said pumpkin adorned with Christmas lights. Carmen sighs while shaking her head.]

Carmen: I don't know why I even try.

[Mercedes sits up and takes a sip of her cocoa.]

[[I'm not really sure what convinced my cousin to bail me out of my current situation, but she probably felt just as bad as I did having to pay for my hotel expenses for the last few weeks when she heard of my dilemma. It might take a while to get use to all the new places, but I think I'll manage..]]

[[I'll miss New York and my old apartment, hopefully. The supervisor was at least kind enough to let me say goodbye to my neighbors, before throwing me out. I guess what they say is true after all: When one chapter closes, another one begins. I guess now is the time where I turn the page and write a new chapter in the city of angels.]]

~ ~ ~

[]Smash cut later in the evening as Mercedes is back at her apartment, ready to head out. Mercedes looks solemnly at her reflection in her bathroom mirror, her game face is on. Her mind in a state of clarity. Today was the day, her event horizon. After this, there was no turning back now.]

[[[There comes a time where you have to stop fooling yourself into thinking that people are always going to be there when you fall. I was never one of those people. You want to know why? Because I know the only person you can rely on is yourself.[/i]]]

“How long are you going to be in there?”

Looking into the bathroom mirror, Mercedes applies a coat of lipstick. Today was the eve of her flight to Germany for her match tomorrow, and she was planning on making that flight, delays be damned.

[[Was anyone there when you were on that losing streak? No. Did anyone said “Hey, Mercedes, you'll get 'em next time!' Nope. There went on about their business. The moment I finally end my losing streak, what happens? 'Oh, you still have to prove yourself!' Really? I've been proving myself the day I first stepped in a wrestling ring for my debut! I'm bad, I'm nationwide! No, worldwide! An international superstar!]]

[Mercedes turns back to the locked door in annoyance.

Carmen, I'll be right out!

You said that ten minutes ago. I've got a date in half an hour and you've been in there forever.

[She extends the end of the gloss, gliding the sharp, angled tip around her lips one last time. Pursing her lips around her index finger, she pulls it out quickly to avoid excess color to stain her pearly white teeth. Just as a fourth knock was coming, Mercedes opens the door, finding her cousin just in the act of banging on the door again

Mercedes looks up at the mirror, then closes her eyes for a moment as the razor sweeps effortlessly over her head and the last of her brunette hair falls on the floor.
]

What took you so long?

Just talking to myself is all. That a problem?

Nothing a psychologist can't solve. You weren't answering too, were you?

I'm got a flight to catch.

Have fun. Send back souvenirs, if you can.

Don't I always?

[*Fade*]

[REC]

“I don't know how best to say this, but...”

[The camera pans from the ground up to show Mercedes Vargas and Veronica Taylor both wearing a Mean Girls t-shirts. Veronica proudly displays the Bombshell Roulette Championship over her shoulder.]

Mercedes: and Veronica: WE'RE BAAAACK!

[Probably the last two words no SCW fan wants to hear following the theatrics from two weeks ago. As fans and the Bombshell lockerroom have come to know, no news is good news when this stable is around. For the Mean Girls members, it was music to their ears. Mercedes raises sunglasses over her head while Veronica grins.]

Mercedes: You know, Vero, that title looks good on you. I'm a little jealous.

Veronica: Well, gold does look good on me. Then again, everything looks go on me. But really, there's no need to be jealous. You were so close to beating that basic, Polly Playtime...

[Mercedes lowers her face into both hands, clearly the shame and embarrassment of the outcome of her failed title match cash in hasn't sat well with her. With a heavy sigh, she looks up again, shaking her head.]

Mercedes: She should be counting her lucky stars, I know that much.

Veronica: Polly Playtime, you may have got that fluke victory last week over Mercy…

Mercedes: She cheated, she cheated.

Veronica: Clearly.

Mercedes: Had her foot on the ropes and everything. Helen Keller could have seen that.

Veronica: Who’s that?

Mercedes: Honey, Google is your friend.

Veronica: You sure? I pretty sure I don’t have any friends named after a search engine.

Mercedes: Nevermind. Anyway, it’s the holiday season and the ratings haven't been that great, but it’s still a little disappointing to see the numbers keep getting smaller. That changed two weeks ago.

Veronica: You're welcome, by the way.

Mercedes: This weekend, it's do or die time for Despy in the main event, and there's a lot of great matches in store for the last Climax Control of 2016...but you're here for the Mean Girls, aren't you? Of course you are.

[Mercedes pauses as she sweeps back her hair from her face before looking at Veronica.]

Mercedes: We’ve both have teamed up with Delia in the past, but this is our first time teaming up, at least in a traditional tag match.

Veronica: That’s right. And you know what? I think we’re going to make a good first impression. We’re flying the Mean Girls flag this weekend.

Mercedes: Double true. The Mean Girls reunion tour got off to such a hot start that our opponents faxed SCW to get a match with us.

Veronica: Crystal Millar doesn’t get matches like that, and she’s the World Bombshell Champion. Makes you think, doesn’t it?

Mercedes: No. Haven't you heard? The Mean Girls aren't know for thinking intelligently.

[That's the rumour anyway.]

Veronica: But we’re not the only one teaming up for the first time. Kate Steele and Melody Grace will be too. What are they calling themselves again, the Best Hair Friends?

Mercedes: Yeah, the Best Hair Friends. God, I think I just got a headache just saying it. Say what you want about our name, but what person in their right mind or even in their wrong mind thought that was a cool name for a tag team?

Veronica: Apparently, Melody and Kate. It couldn’t be any worse than Team Super Sprinkles Unicorn Lovers.

Mercedes: How about not even a month goes by and people already are bitching about the Mean Girls. Jessie and Amy running their mouth about how the Mean Girls turned the Bombshells Division into a joke? That’s strange, Vero, I remember it was on life support and us making the division serious again, and I seem to remember us embarrassing the MPC over and over again. It’s not our fault they weren’t good enough to stop us.

Veronica: They at least should be grateful. The Bombshells had well over a year to enjoy their freedom, now we’re back to take back what is ours, and there’s no one to stand in our way this time.

Mercedes: Jessie was right about one thing, though: We have been put on notice. Luckily for us, being noticed is what we do best.

Veronica: SCW gets it. That’s why our opponents specifically requested to face us in a tag match.

Mercedes: When was the last time that happened for the MPC?

Veronica: Does Mark and Christian having them on speed dial count? Like, if a tag team needed an easy win, I’m sure the choices between The MPC and Ass N’ Class isn’t much different. There’s only so many times they can promo in a hotel or recap what happened in their last match that they get bored and start talking about us.

Mercedes: Yeah, but look at the bright side. Now that they have Kate Steele in their group, it’s something different, at least. If you’re a fan of The Metal and Punk Connection, this was probably good for you.

Veronica: Full disclosure: We’re not.

Mercedes: And now that I think about it, wasn’t Kate with you and Crystal that one time in the Mass Media Militia? I thought people from Britain were humble? Kate didn’t even last three weeks before getting a big head.

Veronica: Don’t forget she attacked her sister-in-law and Crystal. I don’t know, but from M3 to MPC? Major downgrade. But you know who would be a good fit with her and Melody in their tag team? Twisted Sister.

Mercedes: Don’t even joke like that!

Veronica: Come on. Haven’t you always wondered how she keeps her hair so power hair? Maybe I should ask her.

Mercedes: Yeah, you do that, and I’ll be right behind you. 20 feet behind you.

Veronica: Don’t tell me you’re scared of her? Look at me. I beat her.

Mercedes: Vero, you were running from her for most of the match. And besides, who hasn’t beaten Twisted Sister?

Veronica: You?

Mercedes: That’s because I haven’t faced her yet. Let’s hope Christian keeps it that way.

[*Pause*]

Mercedes: I put my ear to the ground, I hear the grumbles and gripes and there are a couple of people out there shaking their heads when I decided to rejoin the Mean Girls. As far as this weekend goes, Melody Grace...

Veronica: The one with the facts? You know she ripped off our Mean Girls facts, obvs.

Mercedes: It's possible.

Veronica: And she trashed the main event at Summer XXXtreme and called the division a bunch of useless, pathetic excuses for wrestlers.

[Mercedes raises her index finger for a moment, considering the thought then shakes her head.]

Mercedes: Yeah, about that. Now I don’t know about you, but you worked your ass off for four years, the same amount of time Jessie and Amy have been in the company, and I know for a fact, that you’re a SCW Award winner and a five-time champion. And I also know that I’ve accomplished quite a lot since I set foot here. And less than three years after my debut, I’m already a Grand Slam Champion and the most decorated wrestler in SCW.

Melody, I’ll just shake your hand before the match. Wish you luck. Then pick you off of the ground after I pin you and thank you for the effort. I'm starting to think we're going to become fast friends. Singles, tag team, triple threat. Apparently, SCW must love having our names on the same card. I know what I need to do, I know exactly what I’m facing and I know exactly how to overcome it. Yeah, you've defeated me in every one of our matches, I'm not blind to that, but even you know that can't last forever.

[Veronica slowly nods and adds a head toss as she jumps in.]

Veronica: And then there's Kate Steele... How does it feel to know that you're no longer champion? No, wait. How does to lose your title...to a rookie? How does it feel to know that I'm holding the title you once held and claimed the record for longest title reign ever? You and Mercy have a rivalry as well, not as profound as her rivalries with Crystal and Amy, but a rivalry just the same. You call yourself “The Siren”, but you’re going to be singing a different tune after we beat you. Sorry bout it.

Mercedes:  Oh, I have a feeling they're going to be more than sorry for underestimating us, Vero. Because, honestly, it doesn't matter if they want to call themselves the Best Hair Friends, the Care Bears, or the Bronies, we're still going to kick their ass.

[With that, they take their leave as the scene ends.]
