 High Stakes V was a success for Jessie and Steve as they were able to defeat Tim Staggs and the Masked Female Nobody, now known as Celeste North, in a historic, bloody and exciting Mixed Tag Team Steel Cage Match and whilst only Celeste North was competing on last week’s Climax Control in the first match of the Going for Gold Tournament two things happened in regards to the winning team.

First Jessie joined the commentary table for Celeste North’s official debut match and whilst she didn’t interfere in the match itself which was a Triple Threat Match that also featured Kate Steele and Alexis Edwards that was ultimately won by Alexis after some unexpected assistance from Celeste, Jessie attacked Celeste after the match making it clear that she was far from done with her one-time stalker.

And what was Steve up too? Well he considered his business with Tim Staggs done and made a video announcement that he was on the hunt for a title shot following his huge victory at High Stakes V and whilst he did deliver his message to the champs in the form of a rap (and no, we’re not joking about that) it worked wonders for him.

How so? This week’s edition of Climax Control was headlined by a rematch between Steve Ramone and Drake Greene for the Heavyweight Title, the last time they faced off was when SCW was doing their military tour last year and that match was made under a similar pretence as Steve had issued an open challenge to anyone on the roster who he had never faced before which was answered by Drake under the condition that it was for the Heavyweight Championship, Steve lost obviously but now he had a chance to redeem himself, can he do it?

Hey, welcome to Jamaica mon! Want to smoke some weed whilst listening to reggae?

Yeah that was terrible and if anyone had the ability to read minds I’d get my ass kicked faster than you can say “THAT’S RACIST!” but I digress, I didn’t even know that there was a wrestling scene in Jamaica but that’s not important, what is important is that I am challenging for the Heavyweight Title this week on Climax Control and just like what happened during the military tour it’s against Drake Greene.

The only way this could be more perfect is if it was taking place in a military base!

But that’s not what you’re interested in, for the most part at least, what you are interested in is the Mixed Tag Cage Match that Jessie won for our team after me and Tim escaped from the cage simultaneously, more specifically what I was thinking doing the What Fear off the top of the cage, well fortunately for you Charlotte was wondering the same thing!

*flashback*

Let me take you back to two weeks ago, the day after High Stakes V more specifically and I was getting ready for a Skype Call from Charlotte, with Sophie staying at home for the duration of Charlotte’s pregnancy I hadn’t been in contact with her all that much but Christmas is coming up and since I’m on the road more often it’s fallen to me to do this year’s Christmas shopping for the family and I’m waiting until SCW reaches Canada before I start on that!

And what do you know, the call just started!

“Steve, I know we originally arranged this call to discuss Christmas Shopping and all.” Charlotte commented as she ran a hand down her face. “But that’s not all I want to address, what the hell where you thinking during that cage match?!”

“I’m going to go ahead and assume that you mean the What Fear off the cage.” I commented and Charlotte nodded in response. “It was a no-win situation, Tim would’ve caught up with me before I could escape the cage and I had to think of something fast, the What Fear of the cage was the best option that I could come up with.”

“I know but Steve, I told you before about using that move!” Charlotte said as she ran a hand through her hair. “The What Fear is dangerous enough as it is but off the cage? What if something had gone wrong, you could’ve paralyzed yourself at best!”

“Charlotte, I appreciate the concern but what’s done is done, I’m ready for my next match no matter who it’s against!” I responded and Charlotte let out an annoyed sigh in response, I could just tell that she wasn’t satisfied with it. “My plans for the next couple of months is a title hunt, I have a video made and ready to send off for the next Climax Control and after that performance I’m confident that the bosses will take notice.”

“I bet they will, just be careful all right? For our children’s sake!” Charlotte responded and I nodded in response. “And speaking of which, Sophie gave me her letter to Santa, when will you next be in an English speaking country?”

“The next Climax Control is taking place in the Dominican Republic and we won’t be back on American soil until December 2 Dismember III which is taking place in Ottawa, Canada.” I responded and Charlotte frowned in response. “I’ll be cutting it short with the shopping so unless you get everything on Amazon it won’t be easy.”

“Steve, do you know what the main thing she’s hoping for is?” Charlotte asked and I shook my head. “A dog, namely a Labrador, I don’t think you can get those on Amazon.”

“Yeah and I don’t think that they are going to let me bring one over the Canadian border, just saying.” I responded and Charlotte nodded in understanding.

“You don’t need to worry about the dog, I managed to find a breeder here in Vegas who will have a litter of puppies ready just in time for Christmas and I’ll be going over to her house tomorrow morning to pick one out.” Charlotte responded and I sighed in relief, don’t get me wrong I love dogs but I don’t want to deal with the hassle of bringing one into America from Canada, especially an excitable breed like a Labrador. “Once I pick out a dog I’ll call you back and we’ll discuss names.”

“And general logistics such as finding a dog sitter in time for SCW tours and Bloodstock.” I responded and Charlotte nodded in response. “I gotta go, going to meet Jessie, Jake and Shane for a celebratory meal!”

“Sure, I won’t keep you.” Charlotte responded before hanging up.

*end flashback*

Aside from that the week went smoothly, Charlotte decided on a male Golden Lab and we agreed to name him Dio after the late, great Ronnie James Dio and everything was set, I didn’t end up having a match at the last Climax Control which made things a bit easier for me on the sending in the video front and finding places in Ottawa to get the Christmas Shopping but that’s not important right now, what is important is the match for the Heavyweight Title!

The SCW Heavyweight Title is pretty much my early Christmas Present to myself and there’s no way in hell that Drake’s taking that away from me!

“So first you conquered Tim Staggs and Celeste North.” Andreas said as he took a sip of his beer, the bar we were hanging out in was a small one but it seemed nice enough and a good break from the hotel bar hence why we’re here! “And now you’re going to conquer the SCW Heavyweight Title and Drake Greene!”

“Damn straight!” I responded as we toasted to that suggestion, what can I say? After High Stakes V I’m on a high right now and nothing can bring me down! Well short of losing the match but with my current momentum? Hell no! I’m walking out of Kingston the champ! “Drake’s days as champ are numbered! Not only does he have to deal with us but he also has to worry about what tricks Mark will pull from under his sleeves.”

“And that only spells one thing, the end of Drake Greene’s title reign and the beginning of yours!” Cyrus responded with a big grin on his face as he took a sip of his beer, not far from us was a pool table and once he noticed it Cyrus got an idea. “You guys up for a game of pool?”

“I’m up for it.” Andreas responded with a nod before they turned to me. “What about you Steve?”

“I’ll play the winner of the game between you and Cyrus, I’ve got a promo to do.” I responded and they nodded before they made their way over to the pool table and got it set up for their game taking their drinks with them, now that they had left me alone I got started on my promo.

“Three weeks ago I defeated Tim Staggs and Celeste North alongside Jessie Salco in the Mixed Tag Team Steel Cage Match at High Stakes V, now Jessie still has her issues with Celeste to deal with but me? There’s gold in my future! Championship gold! Namely the SCW Heavyweight Championship and Drake Greene’s impending end as champion!”

It’s that simple.

“Do you remember what happened last year Drake? During the Military Tour I issued an open challenge to anyone that I had never faced before and you answered the challenge and made it for the Heavyweight Championship! Now granted I lost that match but this time it’ll be different! I have no morals to hold me back! I have Cyrus and Andreas backing me up and last but not least I have Mark Ward on my side.”

Then again he’s on the side of anyone who challenges for the SCW Heavyweight Championship.

“I may have freestyle rapped my way to a championship title shot this week, and there’s a sentence I never thought I’d say in my wrestling career, but the results will speak for themselves! It’ll take a god damn miracle for you to win the match and, call me crazy, I don’t think Jesus is gonna interfere on your behalf Drake! Call it a hunch!”

That’s right, it’ll take divine intervention for Drake to win.

“Even if I didn’t have Cyrus and Andreas at my side, even if I didn’t have Mark Ward backing me up, even if I was still a relatively nice guy one year later, I have just come off of a huge win over Tim Staggs and Celeste North at High Stakes V and there’s nothing that’ll stop my momentum! Yes, you could say that not even the Nobodies’ moms take the Nobodies seriously but you saw the match, you saw the war and you saw the lengths that I will go to in order to win a high stakes match, pardon the pun, now keep all that in mind and add in the fact that there’s a championship on the line! Did I just hear glass shattering? No, wait, it was your chances of retaining the title shattering!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up since Cyrus had just beaten Andreas.

“A lot can happen in a year, we both know this Drake! Just as one example I am now the father of two children and I got fed up with being the nice guy in the ring but you? You took a hiatus, came back, Mark forced your girlfriend to join the company, how your ugly ass managed to date a bombshell like her I don’t know but still, and you have a boss who hates you! And I am here to drive the nail into the coffin of your championship reign! This message has been paid for and delivered by “The Fearless One” Steve Ramone, the champion that the fans deserve!”

I stood up and went over to the pool table as the scene fades.
