Chapter 1: Thoughts
Melanie Gabrielle always seemed to work, it didn’t matter if it was her supposed day off. In some way you’d find her working on something. When it came to her work ethic she’d end up working herself to the bone but if you saw her right now you’d be just as shocked as the rest of the Clan. Mel and Sam were currently on a mini-vacation. Sam had to literally bribe Mel to go on one with him. Right now the two were in France staying at Mel’s younger half-sister’s mansion. A smile came onto Mel’s face as Sam walked to where she was at.
Sam: And didn’t I say kæreste that you needed this? You’ve been working so hard it’s been effecting you in the ring.
Melanie: I guess so plus I can’t win them all.
Sam sat next to Mel as she was looking up into the night sky.
Melanie: This makes me feel like a child again.
Sam: Oh…I’m sorry?
Sam chuckled and turned to him.
Melanie: No it’s fine; it was really the only thing I enjoyed while being a nomad…or well you’d call it homeless. I mean me being a child and a teen looking up at the stars during the summer was amazing, it helped me fall asleep.
Sam: You never really told me about all of that.
Melanie: What is there to tell? Sad tragic story turned into something better. It’s like I lived a fairy tale.
Sam pulled Mel into his arms and saw her blush at him.
Sam: Well you are though.
Melanie: I have you, our daughter and our family. I got a better life than I did back then.
Sam: I’m glad for that you do deserve better, you all do after what happened.
Mel nodded and for a while it seemed like the world was on pause.
Melanie: Thanks.
Sam: For what?
Melanie: Making me get away from work even if it’s for a little while. I don’t remember the last time I’ve done something like this minus our honey moon.
Sam: You needed this though like I said.
Mel nodded.
Melanie: My scar has been acting up.
Sam: That means his magick has been in effect nearby hasn’t it?
Melanie: Yes.
Sam sighed.
Sam: Damn…well no matter I’ll protect you from him. It’s my job when I took our wedding vows.
Melanie: Oh how romantic.
The two laugh.
Melanie: You do know I have a match at Climax Control.
Sam: Oh I do know…wait is that supposed to be a sexual innuendo?
Melanie: I don’t know and I don’t need to know. All I know is I’m facing "The Nurse" Cynthia Warren and I’m going to beat her. It’s fact; if she couldn’t beat Lucy she can’t beat me. Lucy is my second in command and I am the leader. You know Sam if she wants to beat me she’s going to have to step her game up. I’m no pushover and SCW knows that. They know Lucy and I are for real and that we’re going to be bringing the competition. “The Nurse†is going to need a doctor after I’m done with her. Cynthia get ready to face the Dark Angel herself.
Sam clapped.
Sam: Short and to the point.
Mel nodded.
Melanie: Now let’s go party!
