From Moshpits to the Main Event!
« on: August 14, 2014, 07:14:07 PM »
Thanks to the underhanded tactics of the Mean Girls The Metal and Punk Connection lost their first match as a team and you could bet that, as much as Jessie and Amy hated the idea, a rematch for the titles was in the cards for the next Supercard but between then and now the Bombshell Tag Team Champions had their own issues.

Fresh off the annual Bloodstock Metal Music Festival in Derbyshire, England Jessie will once again be teaming up with Amy in the Main Event but this time it was against a fellow NXT member in Vixen and a former champion in her own right and former stablemate of Amy’s Necra Octavian Kain, the Bombshell and the Bombshell Roulette Champion respectively, in the second Clash of the Champions match in recent weeks but can Jessie and Amy beat them and win?

Well that was fun.

Bloodstock, despite the ridiculous amount of rain and Jake’s head injury caused by him inadvertently head-butting a car on the first official day of the festival, Friday in other words, was a blast and we’re definitely going next year, compared to last year we escaped unscathed and my broken nose that I got during Hatebreed’s set on the Friday Night is healing nicely, so you may think that’s enough fun for me right?

Nope, Guardians of the Galaxy came out the week before Bloodstock and whilst we did go to see it today we decided to wait until after Bloodstock with how soon we were going to see it dependent on how much we had left after Bloodstock, that festival ended two days ago and we flew back for this week’s Climax Control yesterday and we still went to see it, figure it out!

But the fun didn’t end with an awesome Marvel Movie and definitely the most unexpectedly awesome one, primarily because I’ve never even heard of the comics and it had Batista, Chris Patt and Bradley Cooper in it and no sign of Loki anywhere, nope, I’ve got my fourth tag match with Amy to win and it’s against Necra and Vixen.

If you guessed that my reaction was “this’ll be fun” then you know me all too well.

“Well, that was awesome.” Jake said as we sat down on a bench opposite the movie theater where we saw Guardians of the Galaxy in 3D, why 3D? Because the movie theater is run by a greedy bastard who only showed 3D Screenings and on top of that the food was shit, even by movie theater standards, yeah we’ll be avoiding this theater like the plague next time SCW comes to San Diego. “Who’d have thought Bradley Cooper and Chris Patt could act like that.”

“Probably had something to do with the fact that Bradley Cooper was playing a gun toting, talking, mechanical raccoon that has so much deadpan snarkier it makes Christian sound blunt.” I joked with a grin Shane was mostly walking about in the background checking his phone for any e-mails he got during the movie and checking up on Criminal Case to boot. “These movies lead me to some weird sentences, don’t they?”

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure that makes just as much sense in context within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” Jake responded with a small chuckle. “Same can be said for half the characters we saw at Bloodstock really.”

“To be fair when I bumped into Lizzie, Matthew and Marty at Live Band Karaoke on Friday Lizzie said that that was pretty much the norm for British Festivals in general.” I responded with a chuckle. “And then there was the guy who had the balls to cover The Trooper on Live Band Karaoke and pulled it off.”

“Yeah, pity we didn’t see that guy over the rest of the weekend, I wanted to praise him for it!” Jake responded as he shook his head, I looked up at Shane as I heard him gasp and saw him looking at his phone in shock something Jake picked up on as well. “Something wrong Shane?”

“You guys want the bad news, or the really bad news?” Shane asked and we shared a look.

“Start with the bad news.” I decided and Jake nodded in agreement whilst Shane took a deep breath.

“Robin Williams is dead.” Shane responded and our jaws dropped when we realized that he wasn’t joking, if that’s the bad news then what’s the really bad news? “The really bad news is that the police have confirmed that it was a suicide.”

“What the hell?” I yelled out before snatching the phone from his hands and reading the news story for myself. “This has to be a hoax, it can’t be real!”

“I checked before I showed it to you guys, it’s being reported by several reputable news sites and TMZ so no it’s not a hoax.” Shane responded and once I confirmed what he had said I handed back his phone. “This just had to happen after the fun we had at Bloodstock.”

“I know right? I don’t think Sophie ever stopped grinning throughout the weekend and it was pretty obvious that she did not want to go back.” I responded before thinking for a bit. “Think we could convince the bosses to book a Summer Tour of England for next year?”

“Mark’s originally from England so I don’t see why not.” Jake responded with a shrug. “It may cut down a bit on the costs of going to Bloodstock 2015 but by how much depends on whether or not they decide to book a show in the Derbyshire area for that tour.”

“Does Derbyshire even have big enough wrestling venues for SCW?” I asked as I scratched my head. “Don’t get me wrong, from what little I’ve seen of the place since we started going to Bloodstock it seems like a nice place but I didn’t see any.”

“To be fair Bloodstock’s location is in a pretty small town like most festivals.” Jake responded with a nod. “I’ll have a look later and see what I can find, and I get the feeling that you’re trying to divert the conversation away from Robin’s death.”

“Was I that obvious?” I asked and Jake nodded. “That was a rhetorical question.” I added and Jake said nothing in response. “Yeah, I was, I mean, Robin Williams in general was a big part of my childhood.”

“I don’t think they’ll be another like him.” Jake responded as he shook his head and decided to change the subject before things got to depressing. “Speaking of Bloodstock, I was going to book our tickets for next year since I know that Steve’s already booked tickets for him and his family, not sure how wise that is if they want to try for another kid but I’m not one to judge, but I was wondering if Amy or the other NXT members might be interested in going.”

“That might not happen, Amy is a busy woman both inside and outside of wrestling and I don’t know if the other NXT members are willing to travel to England just to attend a metal festival.” I responded with a frown. “I’ll ask them later but I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

“It was just an idea that popped into my head during the flight back to America.” Jake responded with a shrug as he shifted his weight. “Anyway, we know you’ve got a promo to do so we’ll wait in the car and blast out Overkill’s new album.”

“Not without me!” I called out to them as they walked towards the rental car and hopped in, as usual the boys were in the front whilst I was in the back but enough about that, it’s time to do my promo.

“Being a metalhead wrestler usually means that I don’t get to mix business with pleasure often, not as often as Jamie Dean does but that’s beside the point, but recently I’ve been able to do both, first with last week’s Bloodstock Festival over in England and this week with the most recent Clash of the Champions match for the Bombshells.”

This’ll be good.

“If I have to explain who’s in this match at this point to you the fans then you’re either A: as dumb as Liz Smalls, B: someone who’s just discovered SCW in which case welcome to the SCW Universe or C: someone who’s been living under a rock since the year begin in which case I have to say ouch because I knew the economy was bad but not that bad! That said I am looking forward to teaming up with Amy to take on my NXT Stablemate Vixen and the Bombshell who I can’t seem to beat Necra!”

And I’m starting with Vixen.

“On one hand, I never thought I’d say this but on the other hand I don’t think anyone saw Odette’s turn coming outside of Gabriel and Odette herself so yeah, Vixen, thanks for sending Odette out of the company with her tail between her legs, Christian may have delivered the final blow but you softened her up for him, that said despite the fact that you chased my former friend out of SCW I am looking forward to this match and to putting on a great one for the fans but in the end it’ll be the Bombshell Tag Champs that’ll reign supreme!”

Next up is Necra.

“Honestly at this point I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve faced you Necra and I’d say that that’s not including my losses to you but that’d imply that I beat you at some point! However with my new partnership with Amy and my first title reign in two years I’m confident that this time I’ll finally beat you and knowing that Amy was once your stablemate makes it that much better!”

Either way this match will rock!

“As you know I was at a metal festival this past weekend and take it from me, mosh pits are as violent as they come! Because of that fact I’m considering all the time I spent in the pit last weekend as a warm-up for this match and just to put that in perspective, I spent about 90% of my time at Bloodstock in a pit of some kind, hell I even stormed the stage during Biohazard’s set on Sunday alongside Jake, Shane, Steve and several other metalheads so yeah, I was ready for this match before it was even booked!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Necra, Vixen, I have no doubt that this match will be a great one but after the travesty that was our non-title match against the Plastic Girls we need this victory BAD! And as talented as you two are, when metal and punk collide we are the only ones left standing!”

I went to the rental car as the scene fades.
