The Past, The Present, The Future. "The Road to Portland" Part 1
Spring 1998
University of Texas campus
Austin, Texas
The plan was now clear, Vanessa had to get Sean Jackson out of the University of Texas. As she contemplated the reasons not given by her master, she realized that the end result wouldn't come as easily as she would like. At first the plan was just to keep Sean Jackson out of professional wrestling, thinking that college football would be the direction to go...
But now that wasn't even an option.
Had Vanessa known that her actions would have caused this kind of paranormal paradox, she would have put more thought into her next step. She would never have made the mistake of sacraficing herself to the wrong Sean Jackson in New Mexico, on that fateful night in October of 2012.
But, because she made that fateful mistake. Vanessa now had to move carefully, very carefully.
As she stepped through the magic mirror, Vanessa once again found herself back in 1998, back at the University of Texas campus. She thought about the many ways of accomplishing her master's plan, but quickly realized that it had to be done in a manner that wouldn't cause any future rifts in the fabric of space and time.
"I can always go with rape" Vanessa thought to herself. Thinking that it would be easy to convince a jury that he had sex with her. But the plan is quickly put away when she realized that doing hard time in a Texas prison would only make things worse. "No, I can't claim rape. He has to do an evil act on his own, without me forcing it on him. If he went to prison, I wouldn't be able to get close enough to influence that evil act. Thus screwing up any chance of developing a bond with him."
Of course prison would be the easiest way to accomplish the goal. In prison, this version of Sean Jackson would never have that chance encounter with NeWA Owner Don Owens. In prison, this version of Sean Jackson would never be in Portland, Oregan, during that all too important month of July 1999. But not only that, in prison, this version of Sean Jackson would never get Mike Bell's blessing and help to become one of the greatest superstars in wrestling history. Thus cancelling out the need for Vanessa, and thus cancelling out her master's plan of global domination.
Which was ultimately the reason why Vanessa needed this version of Sean Jackson to come by way of evil on his own. Much like the bible character Job, God had set certain limitations down on what Satan and his minions could do to those who believed in Christianity. Yes even those on the other side of the mirror. It was because of these limitations that Vanessa had to be careful about what she did next. She had to be mindful that what she did today, even on this side of the mirror, directly affected anyone who could and would cross paths with this mirrored version of Sean Jackson. Especially between now and the all too important month of July 1999.
Basically, she's screwed up once In October of 2012 and could ill afford to do it again.
"Or maybe some marijuana in his gym bag would do the trick?" Vanessa continued as she moved towards the main part of the campus. "Marijuana will probably get him probation, and maybe I can influence the Dean to pull his scholarship. With those two things done, and maybe a slide between the sheets with the judge...."
Vanessa comes to a stop as the plan starts to sound better and better. All she has to do is make sure that her future decisions doesn't end up opening any new demensions and causing any new paradoxes.
"Sean will be ripe for the picking."
With a blink of an eye, Vanessa was now wearing a white blouse and skin tight blue jeans and heels. Her long and jet black hair which once hung below her waist was now hanging to the middle of her back, but still draped over both shoulders. Her plan was simple. Get in, get close, and then spring the trap on this goodie two shoes version of her "Mental Rapist".
As she approaches the door to one of the main buildings, Vanessa imagines that an "accidental bump" would be the best way of catching Sean's attention. In her mind, no one could resist a damsel in distress. Especially one whose books and papers were being scattered all over the floor, by the erratic flow of fellow classmates and faculty
Yes, not even a goodie two shoe type could resist a Jezebeth about to spring the trap.
March 20, 2014
Sean Jackson's suite
Dallas, Texas
The sound of cheering on a television brings the scene to life. The cheering, almost deafening even from the tv screen leads everyone to realize that this wasn't just another match, between two nobodies. No, this would be a rabid crowd inside of a wrestling landmark, most notably called Madison Square Garden. For those familiar with the history of Sean Jackson and Drake Green, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that the date is March 31, 2013.
Yes, almost one full year to the date for Sin City Wrestling's Blaze of Glory III on March 30, 2014.
The match, one for the ages, was for the BACW Empire State Championship. It had moves, counter-moves, counters to the counters, and was by far the match of the night. What did you expect? after all, it WAS Sean Jackson and Drake Green in a match that easily stood for what the PPV was called.
THE GRINDER.
However, as great as the match was. The ending would forever be marred with controversy. Like a thief in the night, a third person would stagger his way ringside, interfere by striking Sean with a beer bottle and the rest was history. Once Aleskei struck Sean with the bottle, Drake's showstopper finisher was nothing more than a fore gone conclusion. The only thing left at that point was to snatch the belt like a coward and run as fast as his little feet could carry him.
So it came as no surprise when Drake did exactly that. After snatching the belt from the ref's hands, he quickly began to bail from the ring. Drake gets halfway out before the screen freezes, his upper body in the ring while his feet are mere inches from the floor. With the screen still frozen in time....
"There he goes, running like the coward"
The voice causes the camera to pan around, revealing the ACW champion standing on the other side of the room. With the title belt draped over his shoulder, Sean continues with his comments.
"You seem to make a habit out of running away from people Drake" Sean says dryly. A look of total contempt etched all over his face as once again, history places him on a collision course at the end of March, against Drake Green.
"The Grinder was supposed to be my crowning moment Drake, not yours. It was supposed to be the night where I first retained the Empire State Championship. Then after beating the ever loving hell out of Spectre for the BACW Title, I was going to win the Grinder. But no, you had to come out and spoil the whole damn thing."
Believe it or not, The Grinder in March of 2013 was actually the show that began the end of the NeWA. It created the turmoil over the Empire State Title, the BACW Title, as well as the NeWA World Heavyweight Title. Yes the same world title that was in the grasp of one Spike Staggs.
Yes, THAT Spike Staggs.
Well now it is Sean Jackson's turn to spin an organization topsy turvy. Sean, the recipient of Mark Ward's gift of the ACW title, now has Drake Green wanting something that he believes is his. Now it is Drake who finds himself in this territory of uncertaintly, at a major PPV trying to hold things together. One has to wonder what was going through Drakes's mind when Mark Ward simply handed that belt over to one of the most dangerous men in wrestling? especially after the total domination of both Deavon Justice and JT Starr.
Combined with the emergence of Nicholas Blair, there is only one question to ask? Can you feel it, coming in the air tonight? The REAL reason why Sean Jackson came to Sin City? at exactly this time, and in this manner.
"I do believe it's my turn now Drake. It's my turn to watch you squirm for a change. Squirm over something you simply have no control over. Oh how I'm going to enjoy watching you look over your shoulder in the days and hours leading up to Blaze of Glory 3. Trying to figure out how it's all going to go down."
Sean walks over to the television, the screen still frozen of Drake sliding out of the ring after his victory.
"Of worrying whether or not it will be you who is attacked in the final moments of our match. A match that is surely to be remembered as the final verse. A final verse that was started at The Grinder, on March 31, 2013."
Confidently, Sean turns the television off.
"The night that has led us to Blaze of Glory 3. The night that will see you being cancelled, once and for all. So I will ask you one last time Drake?"
Inhale.exhale.
"Can you feel it, coming in the air tonight?"
Fade.
