Act 1: A new home
“Hermopolis is opened and my head is sealed. O Thoth, the Eye of Horus is unblemished, the Eye of Horus saves me, and splendid are my ornaments from the brow of Re, father of the gods, I am this Osiris here in the West. Osiris knows his day, and if does not exist in it, then I will not exist in it. I am Re who is with the gods and I will not perish; stand up, Horus, that I may number you among the gods.”
Spell 8 – Book of the Dead
The scene opens on a suburban area of Vegas. The sun was shinning brightly on the city once more, but seemed dull without the bright lights of the night. They still sparkled but were dulled by the late afternoon sun. The lawns of the homes in the suburbs were still bright green, while the flowers were still bright in color and their scents filled the air as the palm trees swayed in the breeze that moved around them. We soon see a car pulling up, and stops in front of a very nice home with a for sale sign in front of it on the lawn. A young woman steps out, and adjusts her outfit before grabbing her notes and waits for her client to arrive. A limo soon pulls up, and she smiles as it sops. The back door opens and out steps Necra with Ex and Sothren following behind. They walk up the long walk way and toward the woman who is taken back by the sight of the rather large man wearing a skull over his head.
Woman: Miss Kane?
Necra: Yes. I hope we're not to early.
Woman: No. I'm Serena Keller. This is the first house that I have to show you on the list. It's a four bedroom, two story home with a pool in the back, along with a full kitchen, two bath, a finished basement, with a living room and family room. It has a full backyard and the neighborhood is near the local elementary school.
Necra: Sounds nice... Can we go inside?
Serena: Of course.
They head inside and the house was done with a beautiful oak wood and the walls were a solid white in every room. Necra sighs as she looks around, as they head into the kitchen. It was done in a light yellow with roosters everywhere.
Serena: What do you think?
Necra: It's hideous. I mean I would have to gut the entire house just to get it the way I would want it.
Serena: That could be done once you bought it. This is from the previous owner of course and it wouldn't take that long to fix it.
Necra: It would take months to fix, and I would like to be able to get in it as soon as possible.
Serena: Of course...We still have a few places to look at this afternoon.
Necra: That's true, and we agreed that we wouldn't jump on the first thing that we looked at.
Serena just smiles and they look out at the pool that just on the outside of the sliding glass doors. Necra sighs, and heads for the front door, and looks over at the house beside them and the couple that stood at the edge of their yard.
Man: Hey there neighbor hopefuls.
Necra: Hello.
Ex walks out behind her and leans against the limo.
Man: Wow that's a great mask. Is it real?
Ex: It's my father's.
Man: Oh he made it?
Ex: No, it's my father's skull.
The man looks at him, and then nods.
Man: Neat.
Woman: I love your outfit... Who made it?
Necra: I did. I design all of my own stuff.
Woman: It's beautiful.
Necra and Ex look at each other and get into the car, as Serena gets into her own car, and the limo follows behind. In the limo Necra shakes her head and leans back into the plush seat.
Ex: How much you wanna bet that they're cannibals or something?
Soth: It wouldn't surprise me that if they were. 1 in 10 people are.
Necra: At least there are a few more places to check out. I couldn't stand living beside those two.
Ex: That guy freaked me out.
Necra: I hope she finds us a place where neighbors actually keep themselves.
Soth: I don't know, it had potential.
They soon pull up to a vast estate that was surrounded by a steel fence. The limo soon pulls up and stops in front of the house.
Necra: This is a really nice place.
Serena: It has 7 bedrooms, 4 baths, all with whirlpool baths. A full kitchen, large sitting room, an Olympic size pool inside, a full dinning room, and a 6 car garage.
Ex: I could fix my bikes in there.
Necra: What's wrong with it?
Serena: It belonged to a drug dealer before the police seized it last week.
Necra: Let's keep looking.
Soth: I don't know. If they come back for anything, they'll get a big surprise.
Necra sighs, as she heads for the door once again. The last house had neighbors that she couldn't stand, and now they were in a drug dealer house. This day just kept getting better and better. They head out and get back into the limo as Serena locks up the house, and gets into her car, and leads them to another part of the city. The next house was in a quiet neighborhood with a church at the end of the block. The house itself was done in a deep red brick color and had a beautiful manicured lawn, and a full flower bed that was kept with sprinklers and great care.
Serena: This is a one story home, with 3 bedrooms, 2 and half bath, two car garage, central air, full kitchen, and living room.
Necra: It looks good... What's wrong with it?
Serena: Nothing. It's a really good neighborhood. The people keep to themselves... Mostly at least.
Ex: What do you mean by that?
The doorbell rings, and Necra and Ex look back at the door. There stood an older looking woman and an older man dressed in very nice clothes. In their hands held a bible each and had smiles on their faces that looked like they were plastered on.
Woman: Welcome to the neighborhood!
Soth: Oh look neighbors!
Man: Are you planning on moving in?
Necra: We're just looking really. This is our third house and we really haven't decided anything yet.
Woman: What a shame. Your husband would be a great asset to the community.
Ex: I'm good with my hands if that's what you mean.
Man: It is. How do you feel about Mormonism?
Necra: Why?
Woman: We're Mormon dear. Everyone that lives in the neighborhood is.
Ex: Check please!
With that Ex and Necra head out of the house and get into the limo as Serena leans against the limo as the window rolls down.
Necra: Please tell me that you have something else. Away from people if possible.
Serena: I have the perfect place for you, or I hope at least. It's a little out of the way, but I think it will suit you.
Necra: Sounds good to me.
Serena sighs, and gets in her car, as the limo starts to follow her. The city soon disappears and the desert starts to appear around them. The sun starts to lower in the sky casting it's rays over the vast desert. Necra stares out the window at the passing desert and rocks that litter the area.
Necra: *Voice Over* Two weeks ago I had a great match, and I managed to walk away with a win. That night I felt like a million bucks and this week isn't going to be any different. I've been placed in a tag team match with a partner that I have beaten several times over, but the question is Traci can you and I stay on the same page and walk away with a win? Or will you do something stupid and screw me over just to make yourself look good? I doubt that considering you don't want to lose either.
Necra smiles to herself, as she looks out the window, as she spots a long road that stretches for what appears to be a long way in off the road. There were no power poles and desert spread out all around the road. They soon pull into what looks like an old town that was now abandoned and was falling into disarray. The car stops and so does the limo. Ex steps out and Necra follows behind looking around at the buildings that now had no glass in their faces, and the sound of birds of the desert filled the air.
Serena: This is it.
Ex: It's a full ghost town?
Serena: Yes. The price that they are asking is within your budget and it would give you what you want.
Necra: It's ok I guess.
Ex: But this is the perfect place baby. Think about it... Away from the annoying neighbors, no one getting into our business.
Necra: I didn't want to be this far out though.
Ex: It's like 20 minutes outside of the city.
Necra looks around, feeling peace as the sun started to set a little bit more. It gave off an eerie look but yet something about it felt right.
Necra: Is there a decent place to stay here?
Serena: Yes. There is an old manor house here but it would have to be updated a lot before you could live in it. There is no electricity.
Necra: I see...
Ex: Baby...
Necra: I guess we could do something with it. We would have call contractors in and everything, but I guess we could.
Serena: The old house by the graveyard is the only thing that can't be restored. It's nothing more than a burnt out shell. That's why the other house was built.
Necra looks over at the graveyard but there were no voices. For once it was quiet. That's when she saw it, there was a headstone that looked a bit newer then the others, and she bent down dusting the dirt off it, and read it “CALLOWAY”. She looks down at it, and shrugs before heading back to where Ex and Sothren stood, as a car pulled up. Sara steps out and she approaches as Necra sighs.
Sara: I'm sorry for being late ma'am. What did I miss?
Necra: Nothing much, but I think we found a place. How far back does the property go?
Serena: Well it starts at the road, and goes back to the old mine that is on the edge of the property. There are a few shacks back there as well, and the mine is still there, but it's been boarded up for years now.
Necra: Wow. That's a lot of land, and a lot of space.
Serena: So you'll take it then?
Necra: Yes. And tell the owner or the city or whoever you have to report to that we will give them what they are asking.
Serena: I'm sure he'll be pleased. He's been trying to unload it for the last few years now.
Sara: Are you sure ma'am? I mean it's going to cost a fortune just to fix everything up.
Necra: I know that, but we can do it. Why don't you go and give the check to the nice lady and call Stacy?
Sara: Yes ma'am.
Necra heads off on her own, and starts to look around her new town. Not only did they find the perfect place but it was out of the way, and no one would bother them. It was off the beaten path, and one they could use for the perfect getaway from everything.
Necra: *Voice Over* Gothika are you still playing pretend? Have you looked in a mirror lately? I mean you think that you're a vampire! But I've seen them and have teamed with them. What you are is a little girl playing pretend in hopes that one of them will find you and make you their bride or childe. I have learned and have forgotten more about them then you will ever know! Just because you crave blood doesn't mean you are a vampire. I watched your match last week, and I have to say that I'm impressed that you lasted as long as you did. I mean you did team with a good friend of mine, and she is the only reason you even won that match. How long do you think that you can last in the middle of that ring this week coming? I can see into your soul, and yes you do have one, so that means you can't be a vampire... They don't have one. You want to play pretend? You want to play with the big kids? Then bring everything that you have to this match and show me that you are more than a joke in this business, and show me that you can handle yourself in the middle of that ring. I'm not going to underestimate you, and I hope that you don't underestimate me, because that would be a very big mistake on your part.
She continues to walk through the town taking it all in, still not hearing any spirits voices. It felt like someone had taken the souls that had been there long before she arrived. The land was silent and that was more disturbing then if there had been souls on the land.
Necra: *Voice Over* Mercedes, Mercedes how many times do we have to do this dance? I've kicked your ass all over the ring more than once and yet here you stand once again. How many times do I have to beat this lesson into you Mercedes? Hopefully this is the last time that you have the lesson beat into you. I mean you are utterly worthless and I know you're getting tired of having someone to prove that every time that you step into the middle of the ring. So what if you had the Bombshell Title? I've had it! That's the only thing that all of us, well most of us have in common at least... We've all had titles at one time or another. Everyone that is except for my partner, but I'm not going to hold that against her. Mercedes I hope you don't mind if I break that pretty face of yours by the time that Traci and I are done. There will be broken bones, broken dreams, and blood... Not mine of course but yours. I'm not going to hold back, and when all is said and done, you will be nothing more than a broken body in the middle of the ring, with Gothika more then likely feasting on what is left of you.
Necra smiles to herself, as she looks up at the old hotel as Sara approaches.
Necra: Well what do you think?
Sara: It's pretty quiet, and we could some of the cult members out here, and they could stay at the hotel.
Necra: Good idea. Did you call Stacy yet?
Sara: Not yet ma'am. It's still early on the island.
Necra: We'll call her later then. As for the contractors, call them first thing in the morning. I want everything started right away.
Sara: Yes ma'am. Are you ready to head back to the city? It's getting dark and...
Necra: I know. Let's get out of here for now. I want to get a bath, and start some designs for the hotel and the house.
Sara just bows slightly, and the two of them start to walk off. Serena is sitting back in her car, as Necra passes by and waves as they head back to the limo.
Serena: Yes Sir... They took the offer. No they didn't have a problem with any of it. I think you would like them Sir. They're a nice young couple that remind me a lot of you. Thank you Sir...
With that she hangs up the phone and watches the limo pull off ahead of her. The camera focuses back on the interior of the limo where we see Necra curled with Ex watching the desert pass by once again.
Soth: I like it there. It's out of the way, and I'll be able to work in peace.
Necra: I don't want anything to disturb me out here.
Soth: It won't. If you don't mind I'll use one of the old shacks there at the mine.
Necra: That's fine by me.
Necra smiles to herself and closes her eyes feeling the evening sun streaming through the windows of the limo.
Necra: *Voice Over* This Sunday night there won't be anything that you or Gothika can do to stop Traci and myself. You can fight, and try to stop us, but that's not going to work for very long when both of you are on the mat begging for it all to end. But it's not going to help. We will do everything and anything that we have to just to stop you and bring you down. By the end of this match you will be bloodied, broken, and bruised. I will not stop until I have another win under me, and I'm on my way to the top once again. I am the Queen of the Dead, the Goddess of Death, the Black Lady, and the reaper of souls; fear me! For when you look upon me you will see death. See you soon ladies.
Necra smiles to herself as she opens her eyes and they flash red before they turn back to their normal color. The sun finally sets over the horizon as the limo disappears into the setting sun, as the scene fades to black.
