[The Forgotten]

 

The Forgotten was a team made up of David Xavier Christensen and Johnny Sykes. It was a team that formed in 2003 when D.X.C met an 18 year old Johnny Sykes in a promotion known as WWE: Where It All Begins Again. D.X.C saw something special in Sykes and decided to take him under his wing. Despite Sykes being a bit of an odd ball for the lack of a better term. It didn’t take long for the two to start beginning to gel as a team.

In their first match as a tag team in Online Championship Wrestling, the two of them were in a tag match where they were out-numbered in a lot of ways. Their opponents were a more skilled tag team. Their opponents were much larger than them. Their opponents were brutal and not a single person involved with the company thought a couple of tiny highflying guys had much of a chance when it came to winning. Well those people ended up being proven wrong because they picked up the W.

From that point on Sykes and David became one of the hottest tag teams that had ever hit the world of Tag Team Wrestling. They held Tag Team titles their first week working with WHW. They went on to be one of the longest reigning tag team champions in the history of CWF. They were a pretty dominating pair of champions during their run with Blood Bath Wrestling 2. What made their team become so successful is the both of them gave it everything they had every time they were in the ring.

It also helped that the fact the two of them became the best of friends outside of the ring, and therefore the two of them knew each other outside the ring as well as they did inside the ring. It has led to them being one of the biggest teams in the history of this business but the last time these two were seen happened to be in a little company known as SKCW. It wasn’t as successful as the two would have hoped, thus why there was a little break for them.

Just last week though The Forgotten made their first impression on Sin City Wrestling and let it be known the two of them were gunning for the SCW Tag Titles that are currently being held by Kevin Carter and Ace Baldwin. Well this coming week on Climax Control the two find themselves in their first match as they will be going up against Blood Omen – the former Tag Team Champions. It is without a doubt a chance for The Forgotten to test themselves and get what they claimed.

At the same time though, it is a chance for Blood Omen to gain a shot at the titles they once held and a chance for them to prove how dominate they are as a tag team. It is a chance for SCW to get a real tag team division going and a chance to see what two teams that claim they want to be the best can do when the spotlight is on them. None the less though regardless of what happens and regardless of who wins. It is still going to be one hell of a match that everyone is going to want to tune into.

Pittsburgh was the home of both Johnny Sykes and David Xavier Christensen. Two of the finest professional wrestlers that have ever existed in this business, and two superstars that had officially been signed to Sin City Wrestling. This coming Sunday the two would be making their official debut to the company and that’s exactly why their flight would be leaving in just a few short hours… but at this point they were going to be late.

David stood at the foot of the bed looking at his tag team partner Johnny cuddled up with a stuffed Ninja Turtle and out like a light despite it being one in the afternoon. He shook his head a little bit as he took his foot and started to shake the bed a little bit in attempt to gain the attention of his partner and in an attempt to wake him up.

D.X.C: “Johnny, get up.”

No response at all. David shook his head once again as he started to shake the bed a little harder with his foot.

D.X.C: “Dude, seriously get up or we’re going to be late for our flight.”

Once again there was no response from the twenty five year old. David sighed heavily as he walked over towards the head of the bed where Sykes was and started to slam his hand down on the bedside table next to his head as he shouted out quite loudly.

D.X.C: “ONE…TWO…THR…”

Before he could get the word three out of his mouth completely, Sykes threw his left arm into the air getting his shoulder up off the bed and kicked his feet into the air – almost like he was kicking out of a pin. That’s when a half asleep Sykes started to shout out at the top of his lungs.

JOHNNY SYKES: “I KICKED OUT REF! I KICKED OUT!”

D.X.C: “Well at least I know you remembered how to do that, maybe we won’t be in danger on Sunday.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Mannn, why did you have to wake me up. I was having a kick ass dream.”

D.X.C: “For the millionth time Johnny, you are never going to get to fight crime alongside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So, the dream is just that it’s a dream and it’s always the same dream. You know how it ends, so get over it and get up. We’ve got a flight to catch in a few hours.”

Sykes sat there on his bed rubbing his eyes a little bit trying to finish waking up while David made his way out of the room giving his fellow partner time to collect himself. In a matter of seconds Sykes walked out with his suitcase being pulled along his side. He then leaned the suitcase against the wall and looked over at David who was giving him a funny look.

JOHNNY SYKES: “What you lookin’ at foo?”

D.X.C: “How the hell did you pack a bag so quickly?”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Dude, I always have my gear bag packed. That’s the life of a pro wrestler, duh!”

D.X.C: “Please tell me you always wash your gear before putting it back in that bag.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Why would I need to wash it? Shiz just gonna get dirty again in the first place. ‘Sides I ain’t wrestled in like a year anyway. Didn’t see the point bro.”

D.X.C: “… I swear it is times like this I wish you were still with MegaCunt. Anyway, nix that gear. We’ll just pick you up something new when we get to Argentina.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Oh snap! Mexicans make excellent gear! I’m totally down!”

For a second David just looked at Sykes before shaking his head as he decided it was best that he not even say anything. It wasn’t like it was going to do anything and it really wouldn’t get him anywhere with his ‘special’ friend for the lack of a better term. Besides it was best that the two of them start putting their attention to what was more important which was obviously their debut match to SCW. It was going to be the make or break for them.

We were a few hours away from Climax Control and in that few hours The Forgotten were set to debut. They had one hell of a debut match to say the least considering the fact that they would be taking on the tag team of Blood Omen – the former Tag Team Champions. The twist to the match was the winner would be getting a shot at the tag team titles when Hostile Takeover rolled around. It was going to be an interesting match to say the least.

With that being said though, obviously SCW was going to want to hear from the newly signed tag team. That’s when the cameras opened up to feature the two men standing in the back. Seeing as David had done established himself as the mouth piece. It didn’t take long at all for him to begin speaking and gaining the attention of everyone.

D.X.C: “Blood Omen – From what I hear you’re going to be the first two men to step in the path of The Forgotten, well I must say this much. This company sure does know how to make someone work and they sure know how to book a card. I couldn’t think of a better match for Johnny and I to have as our debut match besides maybe actually facing the Tag Team Champions. However, we’re both the kind of people that like to earn our keep and like to earn our spots. No doubt about it we’re in a position where we’re really going to have to earn our spot if we want a shot at the tag team titles.”

There was a brief pause at that moment from his end. He wanted to make sure that his words sank in. Because there was a reason for it all. He was a classic old school kind of promo guy. He believed in building them up before letting them down and that’s what was going to begin rather soon.

D.X.C: “So, we find ourselves against the former Tag Team Champions and against the team that terrorized the SCW Tag Team division for quite a while. I believe that the two of you want nothing more than to get a rematch for those titles. I believe that the two of you want nothing more than to face the men that took everything from you. I imagine that the two of you want redemption so bad you can taste it and I can respect that, but here’s the deal. Johnny and I are the new kids on the block. We’re hungry and we want that shot at being the top dogs here in SCW therefore we’re not going to waste that opportunity.

Everyone in SCW has already seen what the two of you are capable of. They already know what you will do and how far you will go. They have already seen you dominate the tag division and they already know that the two of you are more than capable of competing against Carter and Baldwin. With all due respect we’ve all seen that angle and because no one has seen what we can do. Because no one knows how good we are or what we are capable when the time calls for it. We’re in a situation where we have to dig down deep. We’re in a situation where we HAVE to beat you.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Chyeah! We have to beat ya!”

Sykes was quick to chime in and get his word in edgewise. He wasn’t exactly your traditional promo guy, but he did know how to have fun with things. Right now wasn’t his time to have fun and right now was the time to be serious. Thus where David picked right back up to continue on with what he needed to say.

D.X.C: “We have to beat you because there’s more on the line for us, if we don’t leave with a victory in our first night then all the expectations are dropped. People start to see us as jokes. People suddenly no longer care about us and then we’re just going to be a team that’s floating around SCW. That might be something that you two are okay with. That might be something you two would love to see happen. It might be something that the two of you are aiming for, but I’m here to break it to you. It is going to be a night where the two of you end up failing. Because as you’ll come to learn failure isn’t an option for us. It never has been and it never will be – that might be something you want to mark down gentlemen.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Davey, mah brotha from anotha mother. You are being boring right now. What’s with the monotone dialogue? Where is the excitement? Where is that umph? When are you just going to straight kill a promo? Cuz right now mah brotha. You are totally killing people with boringness. Ain’t nobody got time for that.”

D.X.C: “Is that so? Alright then Johnny… allow me to step aside for the moment. Allow me to give you the floor, and why don’t you go ahead and show SCW what you got?”

JOHNNY SYKES: “I got this bruh!”

D.X.C: “Mhmmm, we’ll see about that.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “First and foremost allow me to get this out the way real quick. The name is Johnny, Johnny Sykes and I’m one half of the coolest tag team to ever debut in SCW. Not only are we the coolest but we’re the toughest and we’re the best. That isn’t us just saying so. It is a proven statistic and if you don’t believe us well then you can eat a dick. Point is because we’re the coolest, the toughest, and the best that has ever come to this company. It is pretty much a given we’re going to beat Bloody Omen.”

He had this excited look on his face and he was smirking from ear to ear. No doubt about it the outcome the approach on this promo had taken a turn. Not so sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing but it was a chance none the less. At that point though David felt the need to insert himself.

D.X.C: “Did you just refer to them as Bloody Omen?”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Yes, yes I did.”

D.X.C: “Uh, Johnny… It’s blood omen.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Same diff.”

D.X.C: “No not really.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Whatev… Anyway folks as I was saying folks. It is a given we’re going to beat them. I mean honestly, how people going to say that we’re going to lose? For sure they is talented. For sure they have produced a lot of great moments here in SCW. For sure they were the tag champs for a while and dominated the tag division with ease. But the thing is we’re not your regular old tag team. We’re not like anyone else that’s been involved with this company. We’re not like any other team they have ever faced before and that’s going to end up going a long way once we get in the ring with them to whoop that ass.

But ya know Davey and I aren’t really the arrogant type. Nah, we have nothing but respect for our opponents until they give us a reason not to respect them… or if they are gingers. I’m personally not a fan of them based on the fact they have no soul. They are just dying for a chance to take yours. That’s why I am quick to disrespect a ginger and kick it in the face before they know what’s coming to them. We’re good in this case because we’re not facing any gingers. So, with that being said don’t thing we’re hating on ya cause that isn’t the case. We got mad respect for ya, but this is just a situation where we have to win like Davey said and I just know we’re that much better than the two of ya.”

D.X.C: “Let me go ahead and cut him off right there. I’m not going to go all out and say that we’re better than you. Because we’re not sure of that a hundred percent and we won’t be sure of that until our match takes place. But what Johnny and I are sure of is the fact we have been a team outside the walls of SCW. Can the two of you say that? We know what it is like to take on all comers from all different kinds of companies. Can you say that? We know what it is like to hold tag team gold in several different companies. Once again can you say that? Because as far as I can tell no, you cannot.

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that because there isn’t, but I am saying that we have that experience. Experience that you do not have and experience that’s going to play in our favor… It is more than enough to lead us to a victory based on the fact we’ve faced people all of all sorts. We have faced brawlers, we have faced power houses. We have faced technical wrestlers. We have even faced people that are classified as high flyers much like ourselves and for the most part we have come out with the victory. It is nothing against you, but you’ve faced the same people with the same talents for so long that you know what to expect therefore puts you in quite the bind when you face us.”

Once again there was a small pause coming from the two of them. At this point they had said a lot and had begun to really get the attention of people. It wouldn’t exactly mean much until the two of them backed up their words. It was going to be a difficult situation to do but none the less the two of them believed in their abilities and believed in themselves. They believed they could do it but it was only a matter of time till we found out.

D.X.C: “Disadvantages are never a good thing, but just because you are a disadvantage doesn’t mean you’re going to lose. There’s a chance that the two of you might end up adapting well to the situation despite never being put in this spot before. Honestly that’s what I’m hoping for and that’s what I want to see happen – that’d make for an interesting match. It’d really push things beyond their limits more than they have already gone.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “But the thing that makes me think yall don’t have it in ya is how a dysfunctional tag team like Ace Baldwin and Kevin Carter can come in and beat you two for the titles with ease. Like what’s up with that?! That should have been a team the two of you steam rolled right over. That should have been a team that you didn’t have a problem with. That should have been a team that you should have been all like ‘bitch please’ and put them in their places. But you didn’t and yall lost the titles because of it. What makes ya think that you can beat us like that? We’re a new tag team on the block like them, the only difference is we’re an actual functioning tag team. We’re a team that’s actually determined to win and we’re not going to be a team that’s in the right place at the right time.”

D.X.C: “Johnny has a point gentlemen. Kev and Ace were never meant to beat you. They were just supposed to be a team that you arrested your dominance over. A team that was meant to lose the moment their egos collided, but you couldn’t get the job done there and there is a pretty good chance you aren’t going to be able to get the job done about us when the pressure is on. Like I said I hope it isn’t a situation where there’s not a challenge provided to us on your end, but there’s always a chance it could happen. We’re just going to go to that ring and give it everything we have. That’s what we do and that’s what we’ve always done. We’ll just have to see where it lands us.”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Ain’t that the truth, but I’m going to go ahead and just say it. Blood Omen, yall bout to get got. You gonna see what a real team is. You are gonna see  what happens when ya mess with The Forgotten, and most of all you are gonna see what it takes for a real team to win. Cause we’re the ones that’s going to get that tag title shot and yall can sit back and watch us do what you couldn’t as far as beating Carter and Baldwin… because that’s how we roll!”

D.X.C: “Regardless of what happens tonight, I can say this much and it will hold true from here on out. I guarantee that when this night is over with. Blood Omen will never forget us. SCW will never forget us and the entire would will never forget us. We are the Forgotten and we will shake the very foundation that SCW stands on. That’s our word!”

JOHNNY SYKES: “Booyah! It is about to go down!”

Course the Original Pranksta had to get the last word in as the cameras began to fade on out. These two have put Blood Omen on notice and they had put the entire SCW on notice. It’d be interesting to see how it all turned out because the two had talked a big game and they have put themselves in a situation where they had to back it up. They were in a situation where they had to do things big or no one would take them serious ever again. Good thing was David and Sykes knew what they had to do and knew how big they had to go. Therefore when the spotlight was on them they wouldn’t fail.
