To say the last few days has been hell, would be putting it lightly. I came so close to taking that Blast From The Past tournament, but just couldn't get over the line. I have been stabbed in the back by Odette Ryder, love of my life. This woman put winning that piss poor tournament before all the time we've been together, effectively killing our relationship and that's put me in a hell of a mood. I haven't been around the others in days, and I packed my bags this morning, headed here with a message I'll see them in South America. Synn will understand, he knows I need time.
Las Vegas airport - Leaving on a jet plane.
My eyes dart around the busy terminal as I look up at the travel boards to head to Venezuela, SCW's first stop on the Capitol Punishment tour.
Punishment, the irony, eh? I've been punished beyond belief for the sake of a tournament.
My mind wanders aimlessly as I sit, my eyes glued, watching for the gate. A fan, a man maybe my age sits down next to me, his head moving up and down to the music playing though his iphone. He tilts his head, stealing a glance towards me.
"Hey!" He starts, dropping the ear bud from his ear. "You're Gabriel, right?"
"For my sins, yes." I reply, not making eye contact with this man.
"Dude, I watched the last show! It was awesome, sorry you lost though. Hey, are the rest of those guys here?" His enthusiastic voice yells out above the general airport sound "I love that Despayre guy, does he really talk to that bear?"
I just nod
"Yes he does and no, they're not." I reply solemnly.
"That Odette chick is here right?" He asks "All that is just for TV, right?"
"Who?" I ask
"Odette Ryder. She's your woman off camera, right?" He asks
This guy says right a lot!
"Odette Ryder is not my woman." I say, turning to look at the man in the eye "Odette Ryder put herself in front of us, Odette Ryder is a manipulative, selfish woman, that will never be allowed near me again. Odette Ryder is vile, just vile. The make up covers the outside, but it can not cover the ugly inside."
"Whoa.." The guy says shocked "I thought it was all for TV."
"No." I sharply say "Odette Ryder is only in it for Odette Ryder. Probably all close with Jordan now. Let them get on with it. I hope they both rot together and I hope she gets what her selfish arse deserves."
"You seem pissed man." The man says, slightly moving away.
"Pissed doesn't begin to cover it 'man'" I reply "I spent months with that woman and all the time in the back of her mind, she was waiting for an opportunity to move on. Grass isn't always greener and I hope she gets what she deserves."
"Ummmm" The man says, slightly unsure of what to say "Well cool meeting you man. Good luck on that tour thing man."
"Thanks." I say turning away from him.
The man stands up and moves away from me as I look down at the floor.
This traveling may drive me crazy but at least I won't have certain things or certain people on my mind. South America this week, show on Sunday, shoot to Canada, tie some stuff up, back to South America for another show, back to Canada for an ACW show, miss the SCW show on the twenty fourth and fly back to the tour a little later to sign those release papers and I'm free. Confused yet? Yeah, me too.
I look up at the screen, to see a number appear for a gate I have to board at, quickly standing up and picking up a small back from the floor and strolling off towards the gate. My phone rings, I quickly reach in and pull it out of my pocket to show Synn's face on the screen. I hit the button on the front, and move it to my ear.
"Hello Synn..." I start "Whoa buddy, calm down!"
Pause
"Yes, I know I left without saying much, I get that, but I needed to do this, get some time alone, because when I come back, I need to sort out a lot of shit. Well, you as my manager need to sort out a lot of shit. My stuff from the houses, get a good lawyer for me to get me a deal on the houses. She can keep the one in Vegas, but I want the one in Sweden, after all, if you do things right, I won't be working in Vegas and will be out of this company and out of the country."
Another pause
"Selling all and splitting the money works too, hell, give my half of it to charity, I don't want it."
Pause again.
"Again whoa! I don't care who the hell I'm facing, we both know this is my last match anyway. Do this one, speak to Christian, get his lawyers to write up the release when terms are agreed, piss off to Canada, come back, sign the release and go. It doesn't matter who I face."
I listen but my jaw clenches and eyes narrow.
"Seriously? They wanna bring real life in to this? Fuck it, fine with me Synn, but I'm not wrestling this one, I'm sending him home from the tour early under medical advise."
Pause
"Guest ref? Is Christian really that worried that I'm gonna kill him, he has to get some rent a goon to stop me? That's fine too, but he better be hiring King Kong to stop me taking his bowling ball head off his shoulders. The term this shit just got real has never been more apt."
Another pause
"Couldn't give a fuck Synn. If I accidentally drop him on his head, and cripple him, and he sues the shit out of me, it would be worth it. Seriously worth every minute of sitting in that court room because every second I'm there, there will be the worlds biggest smile on my face. I will be sitting there smirking the whole way through."
A smile breaks out on my face at the thought of it.
"Look, I got a plane to board, I'll be in Caracas in about eight hours. Jump the next one if need be and I will see you there. Don't be pissed, tell Despy I'm sorry and I'll see you down south soon."
I frown
"Fucking pervert."
I hit a button on the phone and slide it back in my pocket.
"Jordan Williams, eh? What a way to go, in cuffs and carted off to a police cell."
A smile breaks out on my face as we switch scenes.
On the plane - Flying high.
Sitting in first class, my legs stretch out in front of me in the space in front of my seat, a stewardess walks down the aisle and stops next to me.
"Champagne sir?" the stewardess asks
I look up, my eyes glancing at her.
"Sure." I smile "I'm in a celebration kind of mood."
The woman takes a glass of champagne from a trolley and hands it to me. I nod at her in appreciation and take a sip as the thoughts start to cruise through my mind
Disappointment, it's something we all learn from a young age. We get disappointed the minute we're pulled away from out mothers after we're born. We grow up constantly disappointed, we're disappointed on the first day of school being away from our parents, we're disappointed when we leave school to get to go to college and realize the people we once knew, will not be there when we get back. We get disappointed in life, we get disappointed at work, in relationships. Disappointment is there all the way through our lives, but we don't see it.
At Blaze Of Glory II, I felt that familiar feeling of disappointment, I smelt the smell of failure. Was I disappointed in my partner? No, she tried and we were closer to winning than people give us credit for. Was I disappointed in the way Jordan Williams pinned me? No, it was expected, I wasn't even disappointed in the attack after the match, I was disappointed in Odette Ryder. The woman threw away a relationship to win a match. That is why the woman is now my ex girlfriend, because of her selfish ways. As much as she demanded to be center of attention, she knew I ripped her apart in what I had to say, and she couldn't argue, I guess that was the bitches final revenge on what she gave up for a title shot. Nice one Odette, whoring yourself out for a title shot, good job.
With that though, comes karma and karma is a bitch and I get a shot at getting said karma against the man who was whispering in your ear that whole way through, trying to get in your panties the whole way through. Here's the thing about karma, it hurts more than the disappointment and I hope that you get to watch this one, because every move I hit on him, is Odette Ryder's fault, every time I put my boot on his face, it will be Odette Ryder's fault. What awaits Jordan Williams, is Odette Ryder's fault. She has put you in harms way Jordan. I hope trying to get in those panties was worth it, because this is where karma bites back and bites back hard.
You two just may well deserve each other, the pair of snakes that you are but it's put you in a bad place Jordan, because I no longer have a damn thing to lose. This is my last SCW match, this is me done, finished, so I have no issues in breaking your neck and walking away laughing.
The thought of it causes a smile to form on my face.
Oh Jordan, the thing is, you can't do a damn thing about it. If I smash the daylights out of you and leave you on the shelf, there's not a damn thing you can do. You can get some judge to agree to let you sue me, but I will love the fact that I was the man who left you as a cripple. I'm gonna smile big time. You need to see that for all actions, there is an equal reaction, well I am that reaction and it's not gonna be pretty. What you took from me was one of the most important things in my life, the equal reaction would be to take away something easily as important. Your ex wife? Nah, your kids? Nope. That English slag you met on tour last year? Nope, because we know you don't give a damn about those. I could do something to Odette, but you probably don't really care about her, just wanna get laid. The only thing important to you Jordan, is that long, prestigious career that you harp on about. Because of her, because of what you took from me, that will be my retribution, that will be my payment.
A wide smile crosses my face.
I will play the role of karma and Jordan Williams, karma is a caged animal, karma will take your career, karma will rob you of what's important, just like you robbed me of what's important. It's time to pay the piper with your career. It will be the greatest trick ever known to man Jordan, because I will make your career, disappear. I hope she was worth it, because you're about to lose it all.
I close my eyes tightly, breathing very deeply
Believe that!
A woman sits in the seat next to me, long black straight hair and sunglasses on her face, looking every part the woman on the go. I look at her and I push my lower lip out, nodding my head.
Time to work some magic of my own
A smile crosses my face as the scene fades to black.
