Playing Nice Is Hard Sometimes

Monday November 4th
A Late Birthday Gathering
Back Home in Las Vegas

It’s been a long weekend for Bobbie to say the least. Last night she made an appearance at Climax Control in Phoenix to issue a challenge to the big bad crybaby, Harper Mason. She hadn’t received an answer as of yet, but Harper had already made it known that she would give Bobbie her answer next week. And that wasn’t all. She had found out that Christian Underwood, being the devious minded individual he could be, made a match teaming Bobbie and Harper together next week in Flagstaff to go up against Seleana Zdunich and her wife Crystal who was returning yet again. It was all a lot to process.

But she couldn’t think about any of that right now. She and Artie had returned home to Las Vegas as early as they could to be with her mother. Why, you would ask? Well, Saturday was her mother’s birthday, and because she had gone to Phoenix, they had to put off any celebration they had planned. Bobbie wasn’t particularly thrilled about that, but her mother understood and didn’t mind considering the older she got, her birthday became just another day.

Bobbie wasn’t having any of that, so tonight her parents would be coming over to her and Artie’s home for a small family birthday dinner, along with Artie’s father of course. As much as Bobbie loved her father in-law, she was doing her best to keep her true feelings about him staying with them be too visible. Artie and his father had told her it would be temporary until he figured out another living situation, but the more time passed, the more Bobbie had a sinking suspicion that this was going to be more long term than she could deal with. But she had to keep quiet for now.

As of right now? Artie and his father were out running a last minute errand before her parents were due to arrive. She was busy straightening up the kitchen and just the house in general while Loki waited patiently and quietly in his spot in the living room. That is, until the doorbell rang and he let out a loud bark, quickly jumped up from where he was laying and ran towards the door. Bobbie looked at the clock with a confused look then briefly stopped what she was doing.

“Grandma and Grandpa are a little earlier than I thought they’d be.” Bobbie said out loud as she walked over to Loki. He was happily wagging his tail as he waited for Bobbie to open the door. She patted him on the head and shooed him back a little so she could open the door. “You know you could have call–”

Her voice quickly trailed off before she could finish that sentence as she opened the door. It wasn’t her parents that were standing before her, but it also was no stranger. “Mrs. Miller?” She said quizzically as she stared at her mother in-law. Artie’s mother smiled at her and then down at Loki.

“Hello Bobbie. Hey Loki! How’s my sweet grandpuppy doing?!” She reached down as Loki stuck his head just past Bobbie and greeted her just as happily. Bobbie stood there, mouth slightly agape as she was more confused than ever.

“W-what are you doing here?” Bobbie asked, still having not invited her inside. She wasn’t sure what to do or even what to think. She hadn’t seen her mother in-law in months and Artie and his father would be home soon. Neither of them would be happy to see her at all, and Bobbie did not want there to be any drama tonight.

Artie’s mother turns her attention back to Bobbie, her smile having quickly faded. “I’m sorry to drop in unannounced like this,” she says, looking past Bobbie and hoping to Artie or even his father inside. “I really didn’t know what else to do.”

“Umm…You could have called?” Bobbie said, folding her arms and still not inviting her inside. “That usually works to let someone know you would be flying across the country for a visit.”

Artie’s mother let out a slight laugh and nodded. “Well, I did try to call. Just perhaps not the right person.” She let out a sigh and the look on her face turned sad. “Neither Arnie or Artie are answering any of my calls or text messages.”

Bobbie laughs and rolls her eyes. “Can you blame either of them? You completely ruined your family by having that affair.” Bobbie knew her words cut deep, but that is what needed to happen. Her mother in-law’s affair didn’t affect just Artie and his father, it also affected Bobbie. Even her parents because of how close their families had been their entire lives.

“Can…can we talk inside?” Her mother in-law asks, knowing this conversation could go on longer than standing in a doorway would even be comfortable doing.

Bobbie shakes her head. “You need to go to whatever hotel you are staying at.” She warns her quickly, knowing Artie would be home any minute. “They will be home any minute. We have plans tonight and I don’t need you being here causing any issues.”

“Bobbie, please.” Her mother in-law pleads. Loki whines behind Bobbie, but Bobbie stands her ground. “I need to talk to Arnie and the only way to even try and make that happen was to just show up here.”

Bobbie lets out a confused laugh and shakes her head again. “Yeah, I don’t think it’s going to work out the way you thought it would.” Loki lets out a bark behind her and she turns and shushes him before turning her attention back to her mother in-law. “I don’t know about Artie’s dad, but Artie will definitely not want to see you.”

Her mother in-law nods for a moment, but remains silent for a long while. After some time and realizing that Bobbie is not going to invite her in, she shocks Bobbie by actually shoving her way inside the house! Bobbie’s jaw drops and Loki actually growls, showing his protective side of his mama, but he waits by her side instead.

“I’m NOT leaving.” She then proceeds to walk into the living room, firmly plopping down on the sofa, refusing to leave! Bobbie just stares at her mother in-law, then looks down to Loki and back to the front door.

The smart thing to do would be to call the police, Bobbie thought, but that would bring the kind of drama she absolutely did not want to deal with tonight. She had to figure something out, and fast, because she could not allow her mother in-law to be here when Artie and his father returned home.

Somehow, she didn’t see things working in her favor…

I’ve been with SCW off and on for several years now, and let me tell you it’s been quite the rollercoaster ride. I’ve lost a lot of matches and I’ve won a lot, too. I’ve had to deal with being put into situations I wasn’t exactly happy about, and I’ve dealt with not being booked when I wanted to, also. It’s just the nature of this business and also par for the course when it comes to having bosses like Mark Ward and Christian Underwood. You just have to…deal with it.

This week is, unfortunately, one of those situations. For both myself and Harper Mason. We’re suddenly going from being opponents just two weeks ago and hopefully again at High Stakes XIV, to being forced into teaming together just because Christian Underwood gets a weird sense of joy out of doing that every once in a while. I should have seen it coming, but Christian never ceases to surprise us.

I could have easily done what Harper has done a time or two on Twitter…X…whatever you want to call it these days. I could have whined and cried about it, trying to get my way and have the match changed, but I didn’t. Because I am a grown woman and I’m much smarter than that. If I had gone that far, the situation could have been made much worse and, well, I don’t need it any worse than it already is. And surprisingly, Harper didn’t react as loudly as I thought she would. Either someone took her phone away or she took our advice and just kept her yap shut this week.

Alas, it looks like I have to play nice this week. Maybe. I know Harper will have a lot to say about teaming with me, especially considering the “downward spiral” I have been on as of late. And that’s fine. She can run her mouth all she wants, but at the end of the day, all this is for me is a bit of a slump. It’s not the demise of my career. It’s not the beginning of the end for me. It’s simply another slump that I will most definitely come out of, because I always do.

Harper hasn’t been in this business long. She thinks she knows more than she does, but boy oh boy she has a lot to learn. The fact is that despite how much I’ve lost lately, I’ve had a lot of success in SCW, too, and it's still more than she has seen. It’s because of that success that I see myself as being the one to carry this team and making sure that we walk out with the win and not Seleana and crazy-pants Crystaltina. Harper probably won’t agree, but I don’t expect her to.

Then after this week, I can focus on moving on to High Stakes XIV to beat Harper again and if she’s not scared enough to accept the stipulation, see her take her true form as the big crybaby she is.

Oooh I am so looking forward to it…

Bobbie was wrecking her brain trying to figure out how to get her mother in-law out of the house, but she knew that nothing she thought of would work. And as much as she was trying to avoid it, the only option was to just let it all be and let the chips fall where they may.

“You know, I really don’t understand what happened to you, Mrs. Miller.” Bobbie says, finally breaking the silence as she takes a seat in one of the chairs opposite the sofa. Loki stays by her side, now avoiding a person he loved in order to make sure his mama was safe and protected.

Artie’s mother shakes her head. “I suppose you wouldn’t understand, would you, Bobbie?” She says making herself even more comfortable on the sofa. “You and Artie were not around to see what was happening to my marriage, but you were so quick to take sides and place all of the blame on me for it falling apart.”

Bobbie rolls her eyes. “Hard not to when you betrayed the man you claimed to love for so long.”

Her mother in-law nods again, even smirking a little bit. “Again so quick to judge when you don’t know all of the facts.” She folds her arms and just stares at Bobbie. “You might not believe me when I say this, but I love my husband. I always have and I always will. And I love my son.”

Bobbie laughs and lets out a snort at the same time. “You sure have a terrible way of showing it this year, don’t you? I used to believe that you loved Mr. Miller. I looked up to your marriage as much as I looked up to my own parents’ marriage. Then you destroyed it.”

“My marriage was falling apart before I had the affair, Bobbie.” She says, but Bobbie shakes her head and refuses to believe it. Her mother in-law is about to continue speaking but the doorbell rings, interrupting them.

Loki jumps up again and runs toward the door. There was no secret to who that would be. Bobbie’s parents. And her mother’s birthday gathering was about to turn into a three-ring circus. Bobbie stands up and heads back to the door, letting her parents in. Her father quickly greets Loki with a manly amount of petting and scratches, but Bobbie’s mother can tell by the look on her face that something is wrong.

“What’s wrong, sweetie?” She asks, setting her bag down on the table just off to the side of the door. She doesn’t even get a chance to look further inside to the living room when she gets her answer, and not from Bobbie.

“Barbie! Ken!”

Bobbie’s father quickly stands up straight and he and his wife quickly glance at one another, then towards Artie’s mother as she is heading towards them with open arms.

“Amelia?!” Bobbie’s mother exclaims, but keeping her eyes on Bobbie as Artie’s mother wraps her arms around her quickly. Bobbie shakes her head and sighs.

“Mrs. Miller decided to make an unannounced visit…” Bobbie says through gritted teeth. Her father, Ken, just scratches his head but doesn’t speak a word as he’s left speechless.

“Happy belated birthday, Barbie!” Amelia says, releasing her embrace on her longtime friend. Bobbie’s mother musters up as much of a smile as she can, knowing full well what Artie’s mother did. Barbie is about to respond, but they are all interrupted when Artie’s angry voice comes from behind them.

“What the HELL are you doing here, Mom?!”

Everyone turns and all eyes fall on Artie and his father. His father is frozen where he stands, holding a box containing what can only be a birthday cake for Bobbie’s mother. Artie is glaring right at his mother and he even shoots an angry glare at Bobbie, but Bobbie quickly shakes her head signaling she had nothing to do with this.

“Artie, sweetie, why don’t you, your father and I go out back and talk in private for a bit?” She tries to approach her son, but he wants nothing to do with it.

“Mrs. Miller, I really think you should–” Bobbie tries to speak, but she is quickly interrupted by Artie’s father.

“It…it’s okay.” His voice is shaky and Bobbie and Artie look at him surprised. “Artie, son…let’s just go to the backyard for a bit and talk as a family.”

“What? No!” Artie says, shaking his head. “She made it very clear last time–”

Artie’s father walks up to Bobbie and carefully hands her the cake, looking at her very apologetically. “Everything will be fine, Bobbie. Spend a little time with your parents and we’ll be done in a bit.”

Bobbie, her parents and Artie are all left speechless. Artie hesitantly follows behind his father, pulling away as his mother tries to place her hand on his back when he passes by. She follows behind the two as they head to the backyard patio to talk in private. Ken takes it upon himself to close the door.

Bobbie turns to her mother with sad eyes. “That woman is ruining everything these days. Her marriage. My family plans. And now your birthday!” Bobbie doesn’t even realize what she just said as she tries to head into the kitchen to put the cake down.

“Wait…family plans?” Barbie asks, stunned.

Bobbie bites her bottom lip, finally realizing what she had said. “Oh. Yeah. Before all that hit the fan..” Bobbie motions her head to the backyard situation. “Artie and I were going to start looking into adopting. Looks like even that wasn’t meant to be…”

Bobbie lets out a sigh and sulks off into the kitchen. Her parents again glance at one another with stunned expressions, but Barbie is not about to let a bombshell like that get dropped and let it just go ignored. She quickly follows behind Bobbie, leave Ken and Loki by the door.

“Welp, bud…” Ken says, reaching down and scratching Loki’s back. “Looks like we get to spend some quality time together.”

Loki lets out a happy bark and hops around following his “grandpa” into the living room.

Welp…this week should be suuuuuuper fun to say the least. And that, my friends and fans, was a boat load of sarcasm. Because not only am I being forced to team with a child who throws tantrums when she doesn’t get her way, but we’re going up against a woman I have beaten many many times already, Seleana Zdunich and her crazy wife, Crystal! Or Christina! Or whatever the hell name she is going by these days. Not that I really care, because she hasn’t been relevant in SCW for quite some time.

I don’t know what Christian’s plan was in creating this match other than to see Harper and I at each other’s throats and have one of us lose it for the other. Because how embarrassing and amusing for him would it be to have a team like Seleana and Crystal beat Harper and I? Ooh, wait…I know. He did that on purpose because no doubt IF Harper and I lose, Harper will go into meltdown mode and throw one of her famous tantrums and make herself look like a fool once again?! I don’t know. Whatever the case may be, I’m going to do whatever I have to do to make sure that Harper and I actually WIN this one, because next to losing to Harper, I don’t want to lose to Seleana or Crystal.

Let me start with Crystal, because…well because she’s just not worth saving for last. Seleana really isn’t either, these days, but she’s the lesser of two evils at this point, so I’ll get Crystal out of the way first. I’d say I’m looking forward to facing off against Crystal because of how decorated and accomplished she is in SCW, but it’s hard to really look at all of that when her lows in SCW have far outweighed her highs if you ask me.

There was a time where I wanted to like Crystal. I really did. She had made a name for herself and was backing it up in the ring where it really mattered, but how can you respect someone who was constantly reinventing herself time and time again? Changing names. Changing personalities. Changing her mind about as often as a hooker changes her filthy panties! How can you really take someone like that seriously?!

Answer…you can’t. All you can do is chalk up all their success during those times as luck and nothing more. Crystal can’t expect her image to change in our eyes, if every reinvention of herself fails before it even really gets a chance to take hold. And it just boggles my mind that she and Seleana are even still together considering how back and forth Crystal has been over the years. If I were Seleana, I’d have packed my bags long ago and gotten the hell out of that marriage. She never should have even married her in the first place, but hey, Crystal must have spewed out one hell of a lie to get her to agree to marry her. But, that’s on Seleana.

I’m amazed that Crystal is even back, let alone that Mark and Christian let her back. It’s only a matter of time before she loses it all over again and runs off to some other company again. That’s just who Crystal is. Hell, they want to threaten to expunge J2H from SCW history books completely? That sounds like a better idea to do for Crystal because she’s just a bad bad bad bad image. But, hey, not my decision so I’ll just do what I have to do and squash Crystal in the ring. It’ll be fun.

I’d say that going up against Seleana again will be fun, but…it really won’t be. I’ve literally lost track of how many times I’ve faced her lately. I keep knocking her down over and over and over again. And somehow. Some way. Seleana keeps getting back up over and over and over again. I don’t know if I should applaud her or feel sorry for her. It just amazes me. But it also…it scares me. And I will tell you why.

Because if I don’t get out of this slump that I am in soon? I’m going to be just like Seleana really quick. I’m going to have dug myself into a hole of losses so deep that I can’t dig myself out, and honestly? I just can’t let that happen. I can’t let myself be looked at as a Bombshell that just  doesn’t care anymore. I can’t be seen as a Bombshell who puts in absolutely no effort or respect for the company that employs her.

Or the fans.

The fans used to love Seleana. They used to respect her and cheer for her. But now? Now they just stay quiet. They don’t care about her anymore, because she doesn’t care about them.

But I care about the fans. And I’m going to prove it on Sunday when I swallow my pride and go into this match with Harper even though I might not want to. I’m going to play nice as much as I can, because I’m not going to be the reason we lose. I’m not going to give everyone a reason to laugh at us. I’m going to show everyone that even the most oddball teams can defeat the odds and walk out with the win.

And after that? I’m going to hand Harper her bottle and her blankie because she’s doing to be mad that I wouldn’t let her get the win for our team. It’s nice easy playing nice sometimes…

But Bobbie’s gotta do what Bobbie’s gotta do!
