“Well, this got interesting quickly!”

(Kate and Amy where used with their handler’s permission)

The final match in the Best of Three series between Jessie Salco and Amy Marshall was a bloody and brutal affair as the wheel had stopped on “Metal and Punk Connection Chain Match” ensuring that both women would bleed by the night’s end and whilst they had to be helped to the back by paramedics, Jake, Shane and Joey by the end of the match Jessie was able to retain her title in her first defense, determined to be a fighting champion Jessie laid out an open challenge for any Bombshell to challenge her for the belt during the weeks when she wasn’t competing in the Blast from the Past Tournament but we may not even get that far.

Jessie’s first match in the tournament was this week and in it she and Nicolas where teaming up to take on Xander Bishop and Chelsea Payne, however on top of the chance to advance to the second round of the tournament Jessie’s Roulette Title was on the line in this match but it would only change hands if Chelsea pinned or forced her to submit, Jessie said that she wanted to be a fighting champion but it’s safe to say that this wasn’t what she had in mind but can she successfully defend her title for the second time?

Boston Whale Watching Cruise, Boston, MA
Wednesday the 5th of April 2017, 11:00am

This is the last time we’re letting Jake decide what we’re doing when we’re out and about.

Basically, since arriving in Boston on Monday we had spent a good amount of time debating on where we should go because Jake and Shane argued that I shouldn’t be spending the whole tour playing Mass Effect Andromeda, granted I’ve still been playing the game but still.

And then Jake found out about the whale watching cruise and dragged me and Shane along for the ride, these tours cost $45 each meaning we all had to chip in, all because he wanted to watch some whales, yeah, if I wanted to watch some whales I’d watch a Mean Girls Promo.

Speaking of the Mean Girls I can’t really focus on them right now even if my first Blast from the Past Match features a member of the Bad Boys in Xander Bishop, why? Well for one thing the Bombshell he’s teaming with is not a member of the Mean Girls as in its Chelsea Payne, someone who’s hatred of the Mean Girls might rival mine but more important than that is the fact that my Roulette Championship is on the line in this match, I know I said that I’d be a fighting champion when I announced my open challenge at Climax Control but I wasn’t expecting to defend the title during the tournament.

Which is kind of ironic considering that I originally signed up for the tournament as a back-up plan in case I ended up losing my last shot at the World Bombshell Championship, still I made it past my first defense when I beat Amy at Blaze of Glory which was something I couldn’t do when I had my first defense during my original reign so it’s a step up and unlike certain champions (past and present) I’ve actually survived my first defense so there’s that.

As for how I reacted to the news, well……...

*flashback*

It was right after Dax and Amy beat Kate and Josh to advance to the second round of the tournament and we were backstage in the cafeteria talking about what had just happened during the match and other stuff.

“So, Jessie Salco Roulette Title Open Invitational Mosh Pit.” Amy said with an amused look on her face and I face-palmed knowing exactly where this was going. “That was seriously the best name you could come up with?”

“I’ve mentioned before that when I was a teenager I was either going to be a wrestler or start a metal band right?” I asked and my partners in crime nodded in response. “Let me just run through some of the names I tossed around for my metal band, Satan’s Satanic Cult, Daikatana, Doom, Warmonger, Lords of War and other names that I thought where cool at the time, as you can probably tell, coming up with names has never really been my strongpoint.”

“That still doesn’t explain how you came up with that name with Jake and Shane’s help.” Kate pointed out and I turned to her. “Doesn’t Jake run D&D campaigns?”

“He does and he’s even worse at names than me.” I responded before taking a sip from my drink. “For example, in our last session he called a Dwarven Settlement we had been sent too “Dwarvenland”, it took me and Shane five minutes to stop asking if it was the Dwarven version of Disneyland.”

“Okay, yeah, that is pretty bad.” Amy agreed with a laugh and Kate laughed in response. “How did he take it?”

“At first he joked about Dwarf Bards singing “It’s a Small World” but then he got annoyed.” I responded with a chuckle and they grinned in response. “And don’t get me started on Shane, back when he was training to be a wrestler he wanted to go under the name “Shane Striker”!”

“That would likely go down as one of the worst wrestling names in history if he did get past training.” Kate responded as she shook her head. “Anyway, so the invitational starts next week, right?”

“Technically, I might have the first defense of the invitational if I’m not competing in the BFTP Tournament next week but I don’t find that likely.” I responded and almost on cue I noticed a stage hand walking around with what looked like next week’s card in his hand. “Are you guys thinking off accepting?”

“If it’s an ongoing thing than yeah.” Amy responded with a grin as she glanced towards the title and Kate nodded to confirm that she shared the sentiment. “Like you said, I still have my rematch clause and so does Veronica for that matter, I think you’re going to have a long line of people waiting for an opportunity to challenge you.”

“Five bucks says every active member of the Mean Girls try to bribe their way to the front.” Kate added jokingly and we laughed before the stage hand walked up to us. “That wouldn’t happen to be next week’s card, would it?”

“You got it.” The stage hand nodded in response before handing it over to us and walking off.

“Okay, Dmitri and Orchid are kicking things off against Dark Defender and Gothika in the first BFTP match, Crystal is taking on Celeste in a match of “who do I hate more?”, Ivan Darrel and Amanda Cortez are teaming up against Jeremiah Hardin and Brandi Shotze in the second BFTP match.” I commented before raising an eyebrow. “Odd, I thought Amanda was going into porn based on most of the pics she posts on Twitter.”

“Tell me about it.” Amy nodded in response as she shook her head. “I’m pretty sure the only reason she hasn’t been reported is because she’s a hot chick.”

“And that’s debatable if you ask me.” I muttered under my breath before picking up where I left off. “Talk about a real Blast from the Past, the next match features two of our old rivals Amy.” I commented and Amy leaned over.

“Brother Grimm and Misty vs. Kris Halc and Polly Playtime.” Amy read the match out and frowned. “Well, on one hand them facing off means we don’t have to worry about facing either of them in the next round.”

“True enough.” I nodded in response before reading the next match. “Okay, here we go and it seems that we can’t escape the Bad Boys as my team’s taking on Xander Bishop and Chelsea Payne with my Roulette Title on the line……...” I trailed off before reading it again. “Wait, what?!”

“Didn’t the bosses say that that was a risk champions had to face if they wanted to compete?” Amy asked and I nodded in response.

“Yeah but I didn’t think that they’d add that stipulation to my first Tournament Match.” I responded before reading the description. “Okay, that’s a bit better, only way I can lose the title is if Chelsea pins me, as for the rest of the matches, Lord Raab is challenging Despayre for the Internet Championship, Ben Jordan and Samantha Marlowe are closing off the first round against Jordan Williams and Remi of Team Technicolor and Melody Grace is in a non-title match against Song in the Main Event.”

“They should be good matches.” Kate commented as she leaned forward. “But I don’t need to be psychic to be able to tell which one’s on your mind right now.”

“Yeah, the match with me and Nicolas against Xander and Chelsea.” I nodded in response before seeing that the Main Event was about to start. “Tuxedo Match?”

“Oh man, I need to see if the cafeteria serves popcorn for this one!” Kate responded before walking off.

*end flashback*

I’d like to say that I was surprised by the fact that Steve lost the Roulette Title but considering how often the men’s Roulette Title has changed hands lately, I wasn’t.

“Come on Jessie, at least pretend to be interested in the whales.” Jake commented as he took pictures of a whale with its tail up in the air. “They are such majestic creatures.”

“That happen to weigh a ton, besides I’ve heard of how killer whales got their names.” I responded as I glanced over the side of the boat. “Besides, if I wanted to watch whales I’d watch a Mean Girls promo.”

“And somewhere that clip of those black kids freaking out is playing, you know the one.” Shane commented with a laugh and I shook my head. “By the way, we are going up to Georgia to join Nicolas for that round of Frisbee Golf, right?”

“Yeah, we are, I’ve been so distracted by my complaining about Ghost Headlining Bloodstock over Kreator that I completely forgot about it until Nicolas brought it up in his promo.” I responded with a grin and the boys frowned knowing exactly what I was talking about. “We’ll be heading up there next week, whether I’m still the Roulette Champ by that point is another matter entirely.”

“Well you made it past your first defense so you’re officially doing better than the past five male Roulette Champions.” Jake commented and I rolled my eyes. “And yes, I realize that’s not saying much!”

“Yeah, me, Kate and Amy have bets going on to see how long Ryan lasts as champion.” I responded with a grin and the boys laughed. “My bet is on “loses it in the first defense” because given the recent trend with that belt that wouldn’t be surprising.” I added and the boys nodded in response. “Amy bet her money on “loses it at Into the Void” and Kate bet on “has reign as long as J2H”.”

“I think Kate’s being a bit generous there.” Shane commented before another whale came up and Jake got his camera out and began snapping pictures as fast as he could. “How long have we been on the boat? Feels like it’s been longer than the advertised three hours.” Shane added and I checked the time on my IPhone.

“We boarded at 9:00am on the dot, right?” I asked and Shane nodded in response. “The ship got moving at 9:15 and it’s 11:30 now, there’s only half an hour left before we head back to the mainland.” I added and once the whale went back beneath the waves the boys turned to me.

“In that case, we’re off to get something to eat before the ship boards, failing that we’ll get something to eat on the mainland.” Jake commented and Shane nodded in response. “You going to join us or are you going to focus on your promo?”

“I’ll get my promo out the way, seems like most of the passengers had the same idea.” I said as I glanced around and indeed the deck was mostly empty.

“Okay, we’ll see you in the café then, unless we’re docked by the time you’re finished and, well if we haven’t eaten by then we’ll grab a bite to eat on the mainland.” Shane added before they walked off, I leaned my back against the ship’s railing as I got ready to do my promo.

“The Blast from the Past Tournament has been going on for over five years now, in that time I’ve only made it past the first round once in the second tournament.” I said I held up my index finger. “Yet people seem to forget that fact, is it because I was teaming up with one half of the Guns for Hire? Was it because that tournament got overshadowed by Gabriel and Odette Stevens’ turns at Blaze of Glory? Who knows? But what I do know is that this year marks the fifth consecutive year that I’ve competed in this tournament and the first one I’ve entered as a champion!”

I added before reaching into my backpack and holding up the Roulette Title.

“And that brings me to my first round match as I team with Nicolas L Blair to take on Xander Bishop and Chelsea Payne, any other year this would’ve just been another first round match and frankly I’m just glad that I’m not facing a mystery opponent for the second year in a row but since I’m the reigning Roulette Champion my title is on the line, only way I’m losing this belt is if I get pinned by Chelsea and I’m going to go ahead and assume that this’ll apply to the other matches in the tournament, the fact that I’m already talking about the second round should tell you everything about how confident I am going into the match!”

And I’m starting with Xander.

“It’s been something of a habit of mine to trash talk the male half of my opponents since the 2013 tournament and this year won’t be any different, Xander I’ve already seen your partner in crime Dax Backet in action and he’s teaming with my good friend Amy Marshall and as far as I’m concerned me and Nicolas have one goal in mind as far as the match is concerned, make sure that he’s the only Bad Boy to make it past round one!”

It’s that simple.

“Your good Xander but I have a veteran of the industry on my side and he’s going to run circles around you on Sunday, now I’m not going to watch your promo this week because quite frankly I have a hard enough time understanding your Tweets, let alone your promos but I think I know what your said, something about you being the best wrestler in SCW and how you’re going to run away with the Roulette Title, normally I’d say that I’m going to burst your bubble but due to the intergender rules I can’t so Nicolas is going to burst it instead!”

Next up is Chelsea.

“And now onto the one I’ll face off against in the form of Chelsea and you know, it’s extremely rare that I agree with a Mean Girl even one as decorated as Mercedes Vargas and this is one of those rare times but Chelsea, how much do you really want this title?” I asked as I motioned to the title. “As Mercedes said, you wanted a shot for a long time and now you’re finally getting your shot but the real question is, will you blow it and will I move onto round two of the tournament for the first time since 2013?”

We both know the answer.

“Chelsea, you remind me of how I was when I first arrived in SCW, I was young, hungry and impatient, only difference is that I got my first title shot in SCW at my first Supercard, it was even in a tag team match like this one, however that’s where the similarities end! At the end of the day Chelsea you may be a good wrestler but your inexperience will prove to be your downfall as I am going to defeat you and retain my title shutting up the haters in the process as I prove that I can defend a title!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Xander, Chelsea, you’re a young talented team but your facing against two veterans, granted I’m only an eight year veteran who’s been wrestling for half as long as my partner but my point still stands as I plan to fight my way through to the second round and beyond defending the SCW Bombshell Roulette Championship along the way, this is the “The Heavy Metal Angel” Jessie Salco signing off and Chelsea, I don’t doubt for a second that you are going to give me a hell of a fight but you will be the first of many to try to take the title from me in this tournament!”

I walked off to find the boys as the scene fades.
