SCW RP 1 vs. The Justice League AKA “You’re the Justice League? Well, we’re the legion of doom!”
The Metal and Punk Connection Reunion Tour wasn’t off to a great start by any stretch of the imagination as they lost to the reigning Bombshell Tag Team Champions The Angel Clan in their first match as a team since Into the Void IV back in May which, off course, left The Angel Clan’s title defense at Violent Conduct III against The Members of the Elders intact but where did that leave the Metal and Punk Connection?
It didn’t take for that question to be answered by way of the Violent Conduct III card as, much to Jessie’s annoyance, she found herself teaming up with Amy again as the Metal and Punk Connection’s Reunion Tour continued and this time it was against a fairly new team on the scene with a well-established tag team in it as they were taking on the Justice League, otherwise known as Zuri Chastain and Belinda Warrick, in a Street Fight, Jessie has made no secret of the fact that believes that she belongs in the Main Event and the fact that Keira was in the Main Event instead of her was weighing heavily on her mind but can Jessie set that aside and lead her team to victory.
Local wrestling show, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Thursday the 22nd of September 2016, 18:00pm
Why am I at a wrestling show when I’ll be wrestling on Sunday? Why not?
Okay, to clarify a couple of things, one: I’m here with Amy but we’re not wrestling on the show, we’re just here as fans and to see what Canada’s wrestling scene is all about, two: me and Amy are basically here as a favor to the promoter, apparently the promoter helped Mark get in contact with the owners of the TD Place Arena when he and Christian where sorting out dates and locations for the Canadian tour and the only catch was that Mark had to have at least two of his wrestlers appear at his wrestling show that was happening just four days before Violent Conduct.
The only way Mark would agree to this was if the wrestlers in question would not wrestle on the show as I’ve already said as he didn’t want to risk the Superstar/Bombshell he sent to the show in question to get injured just days prior to the Supercard so they reached a compromise by allowing us to cut an in-ring promo to put over the local promotion, Rising Destiny Pro Wrestling if you’re wondering, and promote our match at the Supercard, guess who drew the short end of the stick? That’s right, me and Amy!
Then again that’s hardly the only time I drew the short end of the stick in recent weeks.
Yeah, you guessed it, I’m talking about the match in question, in the weeks leading up to Violent Conduct III I was under the impression that, despite Keira getting lucky and winning a match she had no business competing in to begin with, I would at the very least be further up the card than I currently am but no! Gotta make room for the Roulette Title matches, you know, the matches that usually open up the Supercard? The fact that I’m in Tag Team Action again just makes it worse.
Don’t get me wrong, I love tag team wrestling and the fact that I won my first title as a member of a tag team doesn’t exactly hurt that assessment but after tasting the Main Event in the Chamber of Fate Match just over a month ago at Summer XXXTreme IV and again when I faced Keira for the right to challenge Crystal for the title just three weeks later, well, I’m not about to stop myself from going back for seconds, even if I have to scratch and claw my way to my rightful spot at the top!
And what a coincidence, the match we’re currently watching is a tag team match! However, this promotion doesn’t have a women’s division so it’s not exactly a perfect parallel to my current situation, still the match seems to be a good one so far and the face team has just got the hot tag after the heel team beat down on the vulnerable partner.
“I smell a dive coming!” Amy commented as the face team cleared the ring of the heel team with simultaneous dropkicks sending them both to the outside, the face team started to hype up the crowd before they bounced off the ropes and went for the Suicide Dives in stereo, however it didn’t take long for me and Amy to realize that something had gone wrong with the landing as whilst the wrestler who had been taking the beating for most of the match got up okay his partner didn’t. “Oh shit, Jess, did you see that landing?”
“See it? I felt it all the way over here!” I responded with a wince, our seats were right next to the ringposts facing the entrance ramp so we had a pretty decent view of the action but from where I sat it looked like he had landed on his head and wasn’t moving. “That looked bad.”
“Understatement of the century.” Amy nodded in response and it quickly became apparent that they hadn’t planned for that to happen either as the heel team quickly got the injured wrestler back into the ring where the legal man went for the cover whilst trying to avoid putting any pressure on the injured wrestler scoring an easy three count as paramedics rushed down to ringside. “Thank god Canada has free health care, right?”
“That was exactly what I was thinking last December when I had to miss the last Climax Control of the year because of my Taipei Death Match against Celeste North.” I responded with a frown and Amy nodded knowing what I was talking about, I still don’t regret taking part in that match but I do regret the fact that I wasn’t able to pick up the win over Celeste in that match nor would I get another opportunity at her before she disappeared off the face of the earth taking Tim Staggs with her. “Here’s hoping our tag team match doesn’t end like that.”
“I’ll drink to that.” Amy nodded in response as the other three wrestlers made their way to the back not even bothering to hide their concern for the injured wrestler, still as the old saying goes the show must go on and they were already getting set up for our interview segment that was next. “Still conflicted about teaming up with me one Supercard after competing for the World Bombshell Championship?”
“You know it.” I responded with an annoyed sigh. “It’s not that I don’t enjoy teaming with you but at the same time we both know what match I’d rather be competing in.”
“Yeah, hell if you ask Tommy Knox you proved to the world that you belong at the top in the Chamber of Fate match but that wasn’t enough for the bosses I guess.” Amy responded as she rolled her eyes but placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. “Besides, the losses to Keira and The Angel Clan where just stumbling blocks, you didn’t exactly have the best of luck before you beat Mercedes for the Internet Championship earlier this year either.”
“Yeah, that’s putting it mildly considering that my team was eliminated in the first round of the Blast from the Past Tournament for the second year in a row.” I grunted as I folded my arms. “The fact that that loss was to Keira makes it even worse in hindsight! Anyway thanks for the comforting words, like I said on Twitter, when Keira inevitably fucks up and loses I’ll be there to pick up the pieces and do what I should’ve done at Summer XXXTreme!”
“Are you enjoying the show tonight?” The announcer asked the crowd and we shared a look knowing that our time in the spotlight was just a few moments away. “I am happy to report that Chris Stormwild is responsive and has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but doctors are optimistic that he’ll be able to compete on the next show!” The announcer added and the crowd cheered, well, that was good news for him at least. “Now onto the business at hand, this Sunday the American Promotion Sin City Wrestling will be hosting its third annual Violent Conduct Supercard right here in Ottawa!” The announcer added getting a louder response from the crowd.
“Well, not here in this High School Gymnasium at least.” I muttered to myself as I glanced around.
“And we here at Rising Destiny Pro Wrestling are pleased to announce that two of the Bombshells that are competing at Violent Conduct III are here in attendance and have something to say about this show and Violent Conduct! Please welcome Jessie Salco and Amy Marshall, collectively known as the Metal and Punk Connection!” The announcer said as “Wolves of War” by Burn Halo started to play over the school’s PA System and we stood up before rolling into the ring to a massive crowd reaction, I was given the announcer’s microphone whilst a stage hand gave Amy her mic.
“Ottawa, what’s up motherfuckers!” I yelled out to the crowd as our music died down and they cheered in response, I was expecting to have to tone down my swearing because there’s usually one or two families at these events but once I saw that there wasn’t a kid to be seen at this event we threw that idea out the window. “This Sunday the Metal and Punk Connection are teaming up to take on The Justice League in a Street Fight but first off all, let me just say what a huge honor it’s been for me and Amy to represent SCW here at RPDW even if we’re not wrestling!”
“Damn straight Jessie!” Amy nodded in agreement as the crowd cheered in response. “That said, as much as we’d love to stand here and kiss this promotion’s ass we have our own match and show to worry about this Sunday! Make some noise if you’re attending Violent Conduct III!” Amy added before pointing a mic to the crowd and pretty much everyone in the crowd cheered in response. “So if you don’t mind, we’re about to trash talk our opponents, right Jessie?”
Amy asked as she turned to me and I nodded eagerly in response as I got started on Zuri.
“Zuri, it may be true that my mind is focused on where I should be, which is the Main Event scene, rather than the match but since when was ambition a bad thing? Hell if I wasn’t ambitious in the first place I would’ve listened to everyone telling me that I was too short and weighed too little to do anything of note in the wrestling business and, well who knows? Maybe I would’ve started a metal band instead? Well, here I am eight years later as a multi-time champion and a future World Bombshell Champion so do you want to know what I say to those naysayers?”
I asked before sticking a middle finger high in the air using my free hand and the crowd laughed.
“But if you’re thinking that I’m going to be too distracted to focus on the match Zuri then go ahead and keep living in the delusional world that lets you believe that you’re a Superhero, you may think that you’re a Superhero Zuri but the truth is that you are nothing but a C-List Fodder Hero who is destined to be killed off in some event comic for shock value whilst I am an A-Lister and I’ll prove that fact when me and Amy win the match!”
I said before nodding to Amy.
“If I was a betting person… I would place my bet on Metal and Punk Connection getting the job done over the Justice League…. Why? Because Jessie and I are two-time tag team champions, I’m a three-time tag team champion overall. And let’s not forget that between myself and Jessie, we have held more titles than you have had wins here in SCW. Oh and just to remind everyone here… I’m the first ever grand slam champion. By my accounts that just makes me better than you and your oversized Pitbull lapdog.”
The crowd laughed at Amy’s comments and I couldn’t help but laugh as well.
“So what if Jessie is focused on wanting to fight for the Bombshell championship… we all have hopes and ambitions, and she knows when to put her feeling and ambitions aside to focus on the task at hand. And trust me… she is focused on and ready to beat you.”
I nodded in agreement before I moved onto Belinda.
“Ever watch the Disney Movie Hercules? Yeah, I know, weird thing to bring up in a wrestling promo but to quote the opening song from that movie we are going from zero to hero, except not because we are going from a hero to a zero and that zero’s name is Belinda Warrick! Belinda, you are easily the biggest woman in this match but have you ever heard that saying “the bigger they are, the harder they fall”?”
I’d be surprised if she hadn’t!
“Because trust me Belinda you are going to fall hard in this match and you’ll drag the team down with you! It’s like I said last week Belinda, you may be big but your inexperience when compared to the Metal and Punk Connection will be what brings down the Justice League! Or to put it another way, you may be the Justice League but we are the Legion of Doom and unlike the Legion of Doom from that lame 1960s cartoon we actually get the job done and we’ll prove that this Sunday!”
I said before nodding to Amy.
“As for my focus. I’m focused… I’m just going with the flow for now and just accept what is coming my way and in this case it’s this tag team match, I have to redeem myself for the loss at the hands of The Angel Clan, which means that I will be working extra to win this match regardless if I am manhandled by Belinda or not.”
Amy says getting a loud cheer from the crowd
“Sunday night… is where Jessie and I will back to winning ways and this street fight is just the tonic to do so. Good luck Zuri and good luck Belinda… because you are going to need it.”
Amy gave me the signal and I got ready to wrap things up.
“If you’ve been paying attention to the rock and metal scene in recent months you’d know that, aside from Metallica finally recording a new album after the blasphemy that was Lulu, one of the biggest stories to emerge was the reunion of the classic Guns & Roses line-up, give or take a couple of members, well the Metal and Punk Connection reunion tour is exactly like the Guns & Roses Reunion, no-one was expecting it because everyone had gone off and done their own thing, it’s proven to be pretty popular and after this match it’ll be a success as me and Amy kick the Justice League’s ass, this is the Metal and Punk Connection signing off, see you this Sunday Justice League but be warned, you may be Superman but we are your kryptonite!”
“Wolves of War” started up again and we left the ring as the scene fades.
