Days after Climax control
Ryan has been getting used to the on and off cards he’s been scheduled in lately. Go in, do work, entertain millions of people and then go home to do it all over again. All the resting he’s done has really worked to his advantage. Not to mention the endless days he spends training.Eat. Train. Sleep. Such is the life of a gym rat. Coming off from a win against Scott Sanders, the man who did the unthinkable when he defeated Drake Green not to long ago. Maybe it was just beginners luck, or maybe Ryan is just too good. We’ll go with that last part. Though the match ended the way Keys wanted it to go it still wasn’t enough. Then again a match with a rookie can only go so far. Which is why the card he was next scheduled for intrigued him. A match where he can really show what he can do in the ring, not just one on one, but with seven other competitors at once.
The challenge excited him.
He has gone on ahead to Las Vegas to prepare for the upcoming 8-man battle royal to determine the next #1 contender for the Internet title. A title that has gone a bit unnoticed at times. Maybe it’s time to bring it back to it’s time of glory. Though the hunt for gold hasn’t gone Ryan way as of late, but the experience he’s gained from being so close has taught him so much more. It’s made him stronger, and he can enter each match with a clear mind. Training long and hard for days on end, just so he can show the world that he is ready. Ryan Keys will become champion. He just needs to toss 7 others out of his way to get to his prize.
These conditions… are acceptable.
Come climax control Montreal Quebec, Canada will have a chance to witness what a man driven with determination can do. How seven men will fall just by the sheer force of one who is prepared to go in the ring and show once again what he’s capable of doing. This challenge can only help him gain much more so that the next time he fights he'll be unstoppable. This is a game of endurance. Ryan’s best attribute. This match is his for the taking.
It’s simply what comes naturally to him.
_________________________________________________________________________
Everything needed to be perfect. This was his chance to become champion. A chance that keeps getting offered to him. He felt like he has done enough to earn each and every one of those chances. And if push comes to shove he can always parade around the back to catch the eyes of someone that can see his… potential. Regardless, this week he has earned his place in a #1 contender's match. And it’s a match that is right up his alley.
Standing behind a casino style blackjack board stood Ryan Keys. He kept his expression still. Camera’s focused only on him. His hair slicked back.Dressed in less than modest card dealer outfit as he shuffled around a deck of cards. The artwork on his body was on full display. Visual aid was required for those that didn’t believe in a man with so much determination. Everything about him screamed that he was ready to deal. With a smile he gave off a wave of confidence about himself. He knew the odds in this game.
“I’m sure I can guess what you’re all thinking.”
A slight narrowing of his eyes showed a knowing look.
“But let's leave those thoughts for when I’m free after the show. For now let’s focus on what’s important. And no, you can keep the camera pointed up here at my face. Because this is one of those serious times.”
Shuffling the cards in various ways, Ryan kept his eyes on the camera as he never made any mistakes while playing around with the full deck. Skilled hand were so useful for so many different occasions.
“I am here to play a game. And tonight I am happy to play your dealer. There are no tricks up my sleeves, but as many skilled players will know… the host always has an advantage. Seven other players are here to join me. Seven different fates will be tested tonight. It a high game of chance. So let’s see who comes up lucky.”
Ryan maneuvered the cards over and placed 2 card for each seven spots opened. A sly smile came to his lips as from the get go he knew the outcome of this event.
“First up we have Steve Ramone. Skilled, Experience. All knowing in the ring, but with a slight hint of over confidence when it comes to his abilities. A player that has come way passed his prime and that is only sticking around to see where he can come up next. Sadly that time will never come. Not with the card he’s been dealt with. A weak hand shows a weak player. 16 is a nice number. So cheer up Steve, your hand is far from the worst in this bunch. You have a fair chance at coming up high, but at an even greater risk of coming up short. Fact of the matter is that either way, this game is simply not yours to win.”
Skipping over to the next contestant Ryan can see what he’s dealing with. Moving from someone experience to someone in experienced as Kain.
Kain, It’s are to say this but you must be the weakest hand in this bunch today. No experience, no drive, no real reason to be playing this game next to a bunch of other who have fought hard to earn a place to sit on this table. I’m afraid to say t, but a 3 is not your lucky number. You’re gonna need much more than one hit to even come close to winning this game. A hit that I’m not willing to let you have. Your luck is over. And so are your chances on winning the prize.”
Cold words but people need to know their place. Still his effort had gotten him in the match, but effort can only go so far.Moving on Ryan is confused about the next player… and by his way of playing.
“The one and only Despayre. What bring you down here with the grunts? It’s not my place to say but this isn’t where you should be playing. There are games with a much higher prize at stake that you should be going for. Yet here you are. A solid player with a very high chance of winning. And 18. A very good number. One that is very comfortable to be in. But comfort can only get you so far. It’s up to you if you should hit or stay. But I warn you. There are other players that have been aching to take you off your game. So good luck.”
Oddly enough That one player as yet to be tested on what he can do against a dealer like Ryan.So much fun can be had with a game between them. Next we move to a rather eager player. Samuel Devereux. This one looks like he’s betting everything on this game.
“Take it easy their Sam. It’s just a game. No need to be betting so high for yourself. You’ve had a rough streak and you don’t want to go back home empty handed again. Think of the clan’s sake. That would be a nice change. But since you are riding on this game so hard it’s best to let you keep playing. And would you look at that. You have the highest number on the table. A 20. And easy number. But in a game where you have to stay or hit that number can be very bad for you. One hit is all it take because there is only one card that you need out of 52. The odds of that card being pulled up are slim. So choose your next move wisely.”
Next up there is Casey Williams, Alex Rush and Chris Shipman. Three different players that have the same odds of winning or losing.
“Would you look at that. We have ourselves a tie. It’s funny. As rare as this is it never turns out good for either of you guys. An 11 is such a hard number to beat. One high hit and you can have this game won, but the chances of that happening are none. Plain and simple. Each one of you can only keep on playing to see where your fates will end up in. Cheer up fellas. It’s just a game. At least Alex can be happy with my card selection.”
Lets leave them to their business and move on to the main event. The dealer's hand. A hand that in all cases has won many games in the history of BlackJack. Another smile came to him as he knew where all too well what he needs to do to win this game.
“And now it comes to me. The dealer has always had such luck in these games and it looks like tonight that is proven. Though all of you gave it your best efforts. You’ve bet it all on this one and it was your chance to go on and do bigger, better things., But all that luck has run out. It’s over. For a 21 lies on my side. I win.”
“Thanks for playing.”
Just like that the game was over. With no chance of taking a hit lied the 7 other players. And their fates will be the same in this upcoming battle royal match. Their odds of winning are numbers. And it’s just a shame that all of them come up short.
