#AndStill The Champ.
Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure it's all real, but at the end of Climax Control my hand was raised in victory after a tough match with Melanie Gabrielle and she brought it. She brought her A-game that night and gave me everything I could handle. In the end, however, I was just a little bit better, but that's beside the point. All's well that ends well. Melanie main evented the most recent show and now she and Connor Murphy are in the final four of the Blast From the Past Tournament and I have nothing but good things to say about her win last show. If the tournament finals ends up as an all-Angel Clan final at Blaze of Glory, that might be a match I'd want to have a front row seat for. Lucy has yet to be pinned in her career and most recently surpassed my overall record for longest unpinned/unsubmitted streak on Monday. Don't get me wrong, to go 301 days is a long time, holding on to a record for over half a year is impressive in its own right. Yet all things come to an end eventually.
I'm glad somebody broke it!
Anyway, I think I've praised The Angel Clan too much for today. How about we focus on my upcoming match this weekend, huh?
Now, while I'm looking forward to my thirteenth visit to Arizona and my return to Tempe in more than a year and a half, I can't help this funny feeling I'm getting that this match is going to be super serious. Candy and Melody will try their darndest to win and it's clearly obvious that they won't be playing nice. With what Candy did to Melody, that's just disaster waiting to happen and I don't know if Jessie and I will want to stick around for what happens next.
Speaking of everyone's favorite Queen of Metal, Jessie will be teaming up with me for the first time in the history of ever. I don't think anyone imagined that day to happen. Jessie, and Amy, were not the biggest fan of the Mean Girls and I'm not sure if all is forgotten after all the mean, nasty and horrible things the Mean Girls did to the roster, all in the name of attention and fame and championships. Looking back at those moments now, I can only shake my head and wonder what life would have been like if I had missed that audition or failed to meet their impossible standards.
Maybe Celeste North or even Alexis Edwards would have been the sixth Ranger instead of floundering around with The Nobodies. Maybe the Mean Girls would still be around today instead of just being talked about, even in hushed tones.
Maybe Jessie Salco will never forgive me and keep her guard up and I don't blame her in the least. Time may heal all wounds, but what the Mean Girls have done to the division runs deep. I guess Amanda showing up in the Blast From the Past Tournament was a one night only thing, leaving just me as the only member still alive and kicking, or kicking and screaming. I'm not sure yet.
Point being, kicking ass is what I do best, regardless of whether people think my best days are behind me. I've proven that to be a myth. Sunday, I have an opportunity to continue my momentum going into Blaze of Glory and Jessie I know you haven't been in the win column lately and maybe you don't have faith that we can win. That's OK. I guess I'll have to have enough faith for the both of us.
Now, Candy, I know you and Melody have your title issues to work out. Really, all the best with all that, but at Climax Control 144 on the 27th of March in Tempe, Arizona, I'm going sugar free this weekend and I can promise you that before Blaze of Glory, your defeat will be anything but sweet. Empty calories, maybe?
Yeah, let's go with that.
Su reina ha hablado!

[Time flies when you're having fun. It wasn't so much that “fun” was doing PR for SCW and the like, but Mercedes Vargas knew the lingo by now. She is a seven-time champion in the promotion after all and being the success that she is came with the territory, and she staked her claimed in the few months of her near three-year career this company June. Open to the confines or a radio studion. It's just after 8 AM and the Argentine is wrapping up a Q-and-A in downtown LA and it's 80, the kind of weather you'd expect here in early March. When the DJ reminded everyone about Sunday's go-home Climax Control and Blaze off Glory V, Mercedes took the cue to add her final words to her upcoming matches.]
[After the interview ended, Mercedes, relieved that her duty was complete, thanks the host before, exits the studio, walks down the orphaned hallways, and steps through the double doors of the building and into the balmy weather. She fishes through her purse and comes up with the car keys. As she is walking, she aims her car remote as two brief flashes from the headlights comes from a white corvette in parallel park.
She opens the door, climbs in and starts the engine. Adjusting her rearview mirror, she backs out of the garage into the street and drives off.
Reaching for the radio to drown out the silence, the dial glows with an eerily orange light. Rap. Classical. Rock. Her hand draws back as she settles on the tail end of a Gloria Estefan number, before the next song starts up. Nancy Sinatra. Perfect.]
[For the next three weeks until Blaze of Glory V, the stakes couldn't be any higher. This weekend's tag match was just the appetizer. Tempe and Phoenix were lucky to get to host the two most important shows at this point. Mercedes will have to be at her level best to win both, especially at Blaze of Glory.]
♫♫You've been messin' where you shouldn't have been a messin'
and now someone else is gettin' all your best...♫♫
[An elimination match where three seconds is all that would take to end her quest to once again enter the history books at Coronation.»
♫♫These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you...♫♫
[The thing is, she was going to find a way, not a way out.]
♫♫You keep lying, when you oughta be truthin'
and you keep losin' when you oughta not bet...♫♫
[In the end, there was only one person that was going to walk into the pay-per-view and walk out of Blaze of Glory with the win. In her own mind, she was the one.]
♫♫You keep samin' when you oughta be changin'.
Now what's right is right, but you ain't been right yet...♫♫
[In her mind, she was the only one, and she knew it. In three weeks time, her opponents would find out why.]
♫♫These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you...♫♫
[Sunday couldn't come soon enough.]
♫♫Are you ready boots? Start walkin'!...♫♫

Sabes, la familiaridad genera menosprecio. Así como la familiaridad engendra desprecio, así también el éxito engendra autocomplacencia.
[You know, familiarity breeds contempt. And just as familiarity breeds contempt, success often spawns complacency.]
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where SCW is going with this match. Two teams composed of people who don't like each other in an attempt to highlight the tension between the desire to win and hatred for that one's rival. In short, it's brilliant, it works and what doesn't to see rivals tear into one another?
The only issue I have with this match is I don't think Melody considers Candy as her enemy much less her rival and the same could be said for Jessica and I as a team. Jess has been in SCW longer than I have, so I'm sure she has a rogues gallery of her hated rivals as it is. As for me, I wouldn't call Candy a rival, but I wonder how ripping off my gimmick ha s worked out for her? I haven't forgotten what she did to me, adding my name to her little hitlist, so this match is a blessing in disguise.
I'm coming to Tempe, Arizona for two reasons. Yes, Candace, I have a little score to settle with you from Climax Control 135, the first show of the new year. Brace yourself for a shock, sweetheart, because your partner isn't the person you'll have to worry about. At Climax Control, if respect is what you want from me, it has to be earned, not given. But if you want a lesson like I gave to Alexis at My Bloody Valentine, I have no problem with that. Vengeance and victory will be mine. If not, I'll still have my hands on you.
And for two, Melody Grace. If you're feeling a little déjà vu right now, I don't blame you. I remember when you and I last faced each other. I remember that in two tag matches your team won both – I was never pinned in either match - but there's going to be a little twist to this story. So Melody, be prepared to meet your match because not only do you have a match with the Campeón de Internet de Bombshell, you've got your hands full with the reina de la SCW. Be prepared to grace my court with a pep in your step, but a graceful letdown. As much as it pains me to say this, the only “melody” that will be heard Sunday will be the collective groan of your fans as they are forced to sit and watch your first defeat before their very eyes.
Music to my ears.
Familiarity breeds contempt. Sadly, contempt is the least emotion I will be feeling. More like excited. I'm very excited to return to Arizona, I'm very excited to come down to Tempe, I'm very excited to see my fans.
And I know they'll be excited to see the Argentine Assassin.
