The unthinkable happened two weeks ago as Steve and Alexis where not only able to cooperate but they managed to beat Ben Jordan and Raynin and move on to the second round of the tournament and whilst it is true that Steve helped Alexis pinned Raynin at the end of the day the unlikely pairing was on to the second round.
That was a few weeks ago and, aside from a scary situation for Sam Marlowe after she scored the win for her team in the Blast from the Past Tournament Match against Lord Raab and Gothika in which Raab tried to attack her, nothing much has happened, Joshua Acquin stepped forward trying to get a title shot against Steve at Blaze of Glory and the newcomer James Tuscini had called out Steve (alongside Casey) looking for a match and whilst he has addressed that by basically saying no, you have to earn your shot Steve had bigger issues on his mind heading into this week’s Climax Control.
Once again the team of Steve Ramone and Alexis Edwards were Main Eventing the show and to say that this Blast from the Past Match was a big one is an understatement, Alexis’s opponent? Melanie Gabrielle of the Angel Clan, Steve’s opponent? Connor Murphy of the Nobodies, that’s right, the Nobodies where about to implode and with Tim Staggs already knocked out of the tournament, and by his own father no less, this could only spell disaster for The Nobodies regardless of the outcome but the question remained, can Alexis and Steve win again or was the first time a fluke due to Steve assisting in Alexis’s pin?
Backstage at Climax Control, Tucson, Arizona,
Sunday the 13th of March 2016, 11:00pm
I may have had the week off this week but that doesn’t mean that I can’t find something to do, even if it’s at the expense of potential rivals for my belt!
For those of you wondering, yeah, I knew exactly what I was doing when I came out in the middle of Josh’s match against Matt Spears, I could’ve run down to the ring and Superkicked him into the middle of next week but I didn’t, why? Because I figured that a clean loss to a nobody like Matt Spears would be more humiliating for him and lo and behold, Josh got distracted, let go of the Sharpshooter and it cost him the match.
Okay so it wasn’t completely clean but it’s not like I put my hands on Josh or anything!
As for this James Tuscini guy, give me a break, he’s been in this company for what? Two weeks and he’s already asking for a shot at me? My Labrador Puppy has a better claim to a shot at me than any of these losers and that’s because I haven’t been around to take him out on walks! Hell it’s usually either Sally, Charlotte or Sophie (with supervision from either Sally or Charlotte off course) that take him out on walks when I’m not around.
But I’m getting off topic, at the moment me and Cyrus are watching this week’s Main Event for the Bombshell Internet Championship between Mercedes Vargas and Melanie Gabrielle on the monitor whilst Andreas is trying to find out what the card for next week’s Climax Control will entail and, more importantly, who Team PMS and Steve will face next week.
I still can’t believe that that team name was Charlotte’s idea!
“Well, it looks like Mercedes is retaining!” Cyrus commented as we watched the action unfold on the monitor and sure enough Melanie fell victim to the Black Rose Overdrive and since there was no one around to put her feet on the ropes it was pretty much inevitable at this point. “And Mercedes retains! You owe me ten bucks!”
“Just don’t forget to collect your winnings from Andreas.” I commented as I handed over the ten-dollar note which Cyrus happily pocketed. “I thought for sure that we’d see a new champion after what happened in their Blast from the Past Match.”
“Let’s face it Steve, if Connor hasn’t been there to put Melanie’s feet on the ropes Mercedes and Derek would’ve advanced instead, just saying.” Cyrus responded before the door opened and Andreas entered the room with an amused look on his hairy face. “Andreas, you owe me ten bucks!”
“Melanie lost?!” Andreas asked and we nodded in response, he shook his head in annoyance before paying the bet. “Then I guess I came at the right time, Mark just gave me the card for next week’s Climax Control and he was laughing like a maniac, I quickly discovered why.”
“What do you mean?” I asked as Andreas handed me the card which had been printed out, I quickly read through the card but once I saw the main event I started laughing. “Holy shit, is he serious?!”
“As serious as a heart attack.” Andreas responded and I laughed some more, Cyrus leaned over to get a look at the card and as soon as he saw what had amused us he grinned.
“Team PMS and Steve are teaming up to take on Connor Murphy and Melanie Gabrielle in next week’s Main Event? And it’s in Alexis’ home state as well, are we about to see an implosion of The Nobodies?” Cyrus asked as he gave the card back to Andreas and my grin grew wider as I thought of the possibilities heading into this match.
“You know I’m almost tempted to go track down and talk to Alexis about it but even if she was here I’d still rather be a hundred feet away from her when we’re not in a match together.” I commented and my bodyguards nodded in response. “Anyway what time are the arena staff expecting us to clear out?”
“By midnight at the earliest really.” Andreas responded before checking his watch. “And it’s half eleven now so I say that we’d better get going.”
“Agreed.” I nodded in response once I checked the time on my IPhone before we stood up and made our way to the parking lot. “Come to think of it, isn’t your farmland in Arizona?”
“Yeah, I’m hoping to pay it a visit before this mini-tour ends so that I can see how it’s doing.” Andreas responded with a nod. “From what I’ve heard it’s doing well but it still pays to see it with my own eyes.”
“True enough.” I responded as we entered the parking lot and we approached our car, I opened the car with my keys and the bodyguards hopped in the back whilst I got in the front alongside the cameraman as I intended to do my promo in the car.
“Err, Steve are you sure about doing the promo whilst driving?” Cyrus asked and I turned to him. “I’m just saying, I don’t want to be the one to explain to the bosses how one of their cameramen are in the hospital, or worse dead, because you got in a car crash.”
“You know what? You’ve got a point, you guys get in the front and we’ll get in the back.” I responded before pausing. “I really should’ve worded that better.” I added getting a laugh out of the bodyguards and the cameraman.
“Could be worse, you could’ve said it to Charlotte, Sally or any of the Bombshells!” Andreas responded and I shook my head in response before we swapped places with Cyrus taking the front seat, Andreas taking shotgun and me and the cameraman got in the backseats so that we could do the promo without the possibility of a crash, speaking of which…….
“You know, sometimes the stars align, prophecies come true and other cliché fantasy bullshit happen and it means that certain things happen to certain people, I mean just look at me!” I said as I showed the SCW Roulette Title. “And this week it happened again! There she was, Alexis Edwards complaining to anyone who would listen about being teamed with me for the Blast from the Past Tournament and how she wanted to team with someone like Connor or Tim instead but NOPE! Instead not only is she teaming with me but we are taking on Connor’s team next week at Climax Control in the Main Event and it’s the last Quarter Final match in the Blast from the Past Tournament!”
This is priceless.
“You saw my reaction earlier and all I can say is this, holy shit! This is priceless! I would love to be the fly on the wall for when Alexis finds out just who we are taking on next week because I’m pretty sure that the resulting swear jar would solve the debt crises for America and several third world countries and still have enough money in it to buy tickets to every stop on the Iron Maiden Book of Souls World Tour including air travel and accommodation! But enough about that, let’s start on the trash talk!”
And I’m starting with Connor!
“Connor, you may have cheated your way into the second round but are you really willing to try that against your own stablemate? Alexis is angry enough as it is but do you really want to get on her bad side? Oh who am I kidding? The only person not on her bad side is Tim Staggs and even that’s debatable! But that’s beside the point, I’ll kick your emo haircut so hard that it’ll turn into a fashionable haircut before you know it.”
“Do I even need to point out the irony of the guy with the mullet giving fashion tips?” Cyrus chimed in and I rolled my eyes in response.
“Shut up!” I responded and Cyrus laughed in response, I nearly lost my place but quickly got back on track. “As I was saying Connor, there’s only two ways this can end, I defeat you and I defeat you in a humiliating fashion, the card may have played you up as a top contender to my belt and if you somehow beat me in this match I’ll consider it but until then I’m going to tell you what I told Josh and what I’m going to tell James, I don’t do charity cases!”
Next up is Melanie!
“As for Melanie, well she just lost her shot at the Bombshell Internet Championship so she’ll obviously want to bounce back from her loss but honestly, I may hate Alexis but she does have talent in the ring, as much as I hate to admit it, and she won’t let you beat her that easily, as for whether or not I’ll provide my assistance again, well considering that Christian apparently threw a hissy fit when I did it last time I think I might be a bit more discreet.”
And that’s if I decide to help out.
“The rest of you may follow the rules to your heart’s content but me? I’m in it to win it by any means necessary! And no, I’m not dumb enough to send the angel’s head flying with a Superkick, do I look like I want to commit career suicide? What I will do, if I decide to assist, will be a lot more discreet like I said but in the meantime all I will say is that Team PMS and Steve are going on to the Semi-Finals!”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
“The Nobodies implode! Honestly I can’t think of a better way to describe this match, one team contains a female nobody and the other contains a male nobody both doing a lot better in this tournament than their stable name would imply! But in the end there will only be one winning team and it will be Team PMS and Steve! This message has been paid for and delivered by “The Fearless Champion” Steve Ramone, the Roulette Champ the fans deserve!”
We dropped the cameraman off when he pointed out his house as the scene fades.
