{We open outside the studio in L.A. where Roxi and Keira film their children’s TV show. They have wrapped for the day. Roxi and Keira walk out of the back of the studio, with Christine in tow. Keira smiling and hugging Roxi and Christine, an arm around each one, and a big smile on her face.}
Keira – I love you guys.
Christine – Love you too Keira.
Roxi – I just want to say thanks Christine. You have made Keira and I so very happy for agreeing to carry our first child.
{Keira happily giggles, as Christine smiles}
Christine – I would do anything for you guys. You know that. You’ve done so much for me.
{Keira hugs Christine tightly, almost taking her by surprise as she hugs her back. Keira cannot hide her happiness.}
Christine – Whoa, Keira… easy!
{Keira lets off, her face turning to concern.}
Keira – I’m sorry, did I hurt you?
Roxi – You have to be careful Keira, you’re a lot stronger than you look.
Keira – I’m just…
{Keira sighs happily, looking up at the sky in a dreamy state.}
Keira – I feel so good, I’m so excited! I have everything I’ll ever need now. I’m a tag team champion with my wife. I have both of you in my life, and… soon I’m going to be a mama! I couldn’t have asked for 2015 to end any better, and 2016 will hold much better things for me. I can just feel it.
{Keira places a hand on both Roxi and Christine’s shoulders.}
Keira – And you guys believed in me, to do it.
Roxi – I will always believe in you, my love. You’ve proven to me, time after time that it’s a smart choice.
Christine – You both give me the friends I need. You’re always there for me when I feel down. I am so thankful for that.
Keira – I’m just hoping things go well with you for this, and of course for you with the baby. Things are looking up for all of us, and I just want it to continue. Even after last week.
Christine – I heard, tough luck with the loss.
Keira – It happens. Crystal got a fluke win, and it was just that. I’ll be able to do better next time.
Roxi – You still made me very proud holding your own.
{Keira smiles.}
Keira – I just wish that I could slap that guy for interfering. He’s the only reason Crystal won. But whatever. I’ve beaten her plenty of times.
Christine – It’s just one match.
Keira – It wasn’t the way I wanted to start 2016, in fact, I’m more worried about this week.
Roxi – This week, why? Are you entering that battle royal?
Keira – No. I meant your match this week.
Roxi – My match? With Lucy? I’ll be ready for it.
Keira – I know you will, you always are. But us, starting out with back to back losses isn’t really how I want to start the New Year. You need to go out and kick her butt. You know they will be coming for the tag team titles.
Roxi – I’m aware of that. It’s the way it looks but, this isn’t the Fallen, it’s not two people trying to hurt us, it’s Mel and Lucy. They’re not that bad.
Keira – We can’t underestimate them.
Roxi – I’m not. I’m just saying this isn’t the worst thing going on right now. Yes, I know the match is important. I’m not going to sit here and say it’s not. I’m just saying, it could be worse. It could be Alexis, or someone else that can’t stand us.
{Keira takes a moment and sighs, shaking her head.}
Keira – Goodness knows that list grows by the day. It’s why I’m trying to change.
Roxi – Well, you know what that means for you personally.
{Keira sighs, Roxi being the party pooper and actual responsible one.}
Keira – I know. I’m trying very hard to change things.
Christine – You shouldn’t be afraid to be who you are…
{Keira sighs as Roxi places a hand on Christine shoulder.}
Roxi – Keira needs to learn to be subtle, that’s all. I get that she’s… sexual, she’s very sexual, but that’s not what defines her. It doesn’t define me, or her, or you. We’re going to change things. She’s going to change things.
Christine – Oh…
Roxi – Keira knows what that means…
Keira – It’s… it’s time for me to grow up.
Roxi – Well, not really grow up, but mature a little, after all, we’ve got a baby coming.
{Roxi gives Christine a warm look.}
Roxi – All thanks to you.
{Christine smiles as it brings a little energy back into Keira.}
Keira – Mmhmm! You’re the best!
Christine – Thanks guys. I just hope that if this show catches on, that I’m still able to come out here from time to time.
Roxi – Until it becomes a risk for you to travel. You’ve done a wonderful job with the production and overseeing everything.
Keira – Mmhmm! You’ve done awesome!
Christine – I’m trying. And thanks again. What… what do you say we get something to eat?
Keira – I am hungry…
Roxi – You’re always hungry!
Keira – I can’t help it! I need something to hold me over.
Christine – Why don’t we go back to the hotel and just order some pizza?
{Keira’s eyes light up.}
Keira – Yes! I will take 10 please!
Roxi – Only 10?
{Keira smirks and shrugs, a sarcastic tone in her voice.}
Keira – Trying to be subtle… remember?
{Keira giggles, feeling she got one up on Roxi.}
Roxi – Very funny.
Christine – Come on, let’s go, I’ll make the call.
Roxi – You know, you don’t have to do that. It’s fine, I can get it.
{Christine giggles.}
Christine – Always looking out for people huh?
Roxi – It’s my job.
Christine – You’ve always looked out for me, and obviously Keira.
Keira – I’d be lost with my Roxi.
Roxi – Guys… I just wanna pay for the pizzas.
{The three share a beat, and then giggles to one another. They three then walk off, ready to head back and chow down.}
Well, I want to wish everyone a happy new year, even though it’s a bit belated. But, then again, I haven’t have a chance to talk to you guys in the past 3 weeks. In fact, this is my first action since December to Dismember. It’s been quite a while since I’ve been in the old six-sided ring. I’ve been really focused on personal matters as of late, trying to get my hectic life to have some semblance of order here so that things run a lot smoother in 2016.
Now, Team Hero didn’t exactly start out 2016 on a roll. Keira got screwed out of a win she clearly should have had, and then strangely Crystal Hilton wanted to celebrate and visit Keira and I, which… is weird. I don’t really hang out with Crystal but… it was a pretty tense visit all in all. But, One loss isn’t the end of the world by any means. Keira will bounce back, she’s already proven that she will.
I mean, all things considered, being a 2 time bombshell’s Internet champion, competing in the match, and feud of the year with Amy Marshall, and topping everything off by winning the tag team titles with my wife, put 2015 as a really awesome year. I mean, Outside of getting a bombshell’s title match, or following in Amy’s footsteps down the road, and winning the Roulette title to complete the grand slam. I really could not ask for much better 2015 SCW wise. Now, the trick, as it were, is to continue this really fun ride and start 2016 off on the right foot. Can’t be stumbling out of the blocks already.
Not that this match with Lucy will be easy, by any stretch of the imagination.
{Back home after the flight, and resting comfortably, Roxi stares out the window at the skyline, looking around the city as Keira quietly finishes her plate of food. She sees Roxi staring out the window and gets concerned. She slowly stands up, wiping her mouth with a napkin and tosses it down onto her empty plate. She walks behind Roxi and looks over her shoulder, before resting her head on it.}
Keira – You okay?
Roxi – Yeah, I’m fine. Just looking.
Keira – Looking at what?
Roxi – Everything and nothing I suppose. Things have been so quiet lately. Even our patrols are infrequent now. Vision never has anything for us, and not much is happening anymore.
Keira – That’s a good thing, right? It’s what we’re working towards…
{Roxi sighs.}
Roxi – This is different. It would be great if I could say all the bad guys were put away, but they’re not. There’s still some out there, and it makes me nervous.
Keira – You can’t keep worrying yourself like this. Your hair will turn all gray when you turn 30.
Roxi – Don’t joke, that’s in a couple of months!
{Keira eases up off Roxi, who is sensitive about her hair.}
Roxi – Do I have gray hairs?
{Roxi bends forward, showing the top of her hair to Keira, who giggles, as she pushes Roxi upright to reassure her.}
Keira – Relax. Relax. It was just a joke.
Roxi – Don’t joke about my hair Keira.
Keira – Listen, I don’t care if you go gray, or if it all falls out. I will always love you. I just want you to relax.
Roxi – I have been. The past month has been so easy and relaxing. The holidays were relaxing. But this is a new year, a new time, and things are starting anew. And that means criminal activity too!
Keira – Roxi, relax. Seriously. If we don’t see something on the patrols, and Vision doesn’t call us, that’s a good night. You’re making it sound like you want to go out and fight all the time.
Roxi – I…
{Roxi sighs, realizing what Keira is really saying. Shaking her head.}
Roxi – I know that’s what it sounds like, but that’s just me. I don’t know. I can’t… I can’t shake the feeling that something big is happening, right under our noses. Evil doesn’t sleep, it waits Keira. For as many years as I have been doing this, it’s one thing I’ve learned above all. When you least expect it, something can happen. I don’t want to get caught off guard. It wasn’t that long ago that Sarah was right on our doorstep.
Keira – That…
{Keira stops, remembering the bad memories and her sore spot… with Jean.}
Keira – Jean….
Roxi – I… I didn’t mean to bring that up, but… it was the most recent example. I just have a bad feeling.
{Keira sits down on the couch, running her fingers through her hair to brush it out of her face. She looks up at Roxi and sighs.}
Keira – If… if it makes you feel any better, we’ll go out, on a patrol. We’ll sweep the city for an hour if we need to.
Roxi – I don’t think it will help much. But it couldn’t hurt.
Keira – Fine. But you can’t let… the bad feelings ruin everything. You’ve been worrying me lately. You got sick from it. I know it. You need to relax, just focus on wrestling.
Roxi – Maybe you’re right.
Keira – I know I’m right. You have a match to focus on, and maybe that battle royal.
Roxi – Nah, I don’t think I’m going to enter. Not because I don’t think I can win, but because I’d rather not focus on too many things at once. Lucy is all tonight.
Keira – As tempting as it is. I think I’m going to sit this one out too.
Roxi – Really? Nothing for you?
Keira – I’m just thinking about other things right now. Our tag title run is approaching 100 days. We’ve got a defense coming soon, more than likely against the Clan, and I want to be ready for that. Once we break hat record, once we establish ourselves as the best tag team in SCW bombshell’s history, there will be time for other things.
Roxi – Yeah. Good point. Your never cease to amaze me my love.
Keira – I love you, and I don’t want anything to distract us from what’s coming. So, let’s just hit this patrol, and get that out of the way. Once that’s done, we can take that off the list and actually focus on the tasks that lay ahead.
{Roxi can’t help but smile.}
Roxi – I love you too. Alright….
{Roxi takes one last look out the window, her eyes darting around just to be sure, before turning back to Keira.}
Roxi – Lead the way.
{Roxi and Keira head out to suit up and go on their patrol.}
Being a tag team champion means a lot to me. I could not think of a better partner to actually go at this whole thing with than my wife. Sure, I mean, Misty would be an awesome partner to have, but I wouldn’t ask that of her. She’s got so much going for her, and I know sometimes she misses the ring, but I almost think it would undo all the good things she has and give her some unwanted stress. Melody and I were a pretty good team, and I do miss her sometimes. But I’m sure she’s happy where she’s at. I’ve had great partners, great friends. Simon and weirdly enough, Gabriel and I were pretty good teams. But honestly, there is no one who comes close to being a great team mate and partner than Keira. She’s as much my rock, as I am hers. We are yin and yang. Peanut butter and jelly, and all those clichés. It’s a good feeling to have someone so special to me, with me at all times.
Granted, I won my first tag titles with my best friend Amy Drew, and that was awesome. Amy is just as awesome as any partner I’ve ever had. She is, and was my first great partner who I was successful with. I will always treasure that. But to hold the SCW bombshell’s tag team titles with my wife, and make history that way, will always be special. And will always be number 1 in my heart. She’s always been there, and always will be there, and that’s a great feeling to have. Because I know I’m going to need her support, because even though the Fallen were extremely dangerous, even though they were 3 time Tag champions, we beat them. Twice. We’ve proven we can beat any one team in the bombshell’s division. But the Clan… the Clan is quite different.
I mean, there are similarities. Thy both have the whole…. Vampire thing going on. Or at least that feel. And I can’t really say how awesome Melanie is as my friend. Mel has just been amazing to have in my corner, on par with most of my other friends, save for Keira. And when she and Lucy first came to SCW, it bummed me out to no end that we actually have to wrestle them in their first match. Not that it was a thing where we felt cocky about beating them, it was more about the fact that these people are our friends, and nobody likes to wrestle people that mean a lot to them. I’ve found that out many times over my career, and a few times in 2015.
Wrestling friends like Mel and Lucy, Griff, Jenn Drew, Christine, Amy Marshall, and then my own wife to top things off, it sucked. It sucked because they meant so much to me, and having to not only wrestle them, but try and beat them… that’s a horrible feeling. And it seems that this is my price t
Mel and Lucy have been on fire lately, and they indeed will be tough to stop. Thankfully, it’s only Lucy, and one on one match this time. Not that that’s any big consolation, because I know that Lucy’s tough as nails, and will give me one heck of a fight, friends or not.
But, I didn’t become one half of the tag team champions, to falter when a challenge comes my way.
{Sitting in costume on a nearby rooftop, Roxi and Keira scan the area, before checking in with Vision.}
Vision – Ladies?
Roxi – We’re starting a patrol.
Vision – Very well.
Keria – Roxi’s being paranoid. Please inform her there is nothing going on crime wise…
{Roxi frowns under her mask, and shoots a glare at Keira.}
Roxi – I’m not being paranoid, just cautious.
Vision – There is nothing on any scanners, blotters, or write ups. Another quiet day, and night so far.
Keira – See…. I told you.
Roxi – Let us know if anything happens.
Vision – Will do. Be safe out there.
Roxi – You got it.
{Roxi ends the call and looks at Keira.}
Roxi – Alright, ready to roll?
Keira – Tell you what, I’m going to hit the east side of town, you hit the west, we’ll meet in the north, and sweep back south.
Roxi – Split up?
Keira – We’ll cover more ground that way, and… well… if something does happen, I’d rather we call each oher when we notice something, rather than both of us walk into something bad. That didn’t work so well with the last few times.
{Roxi thinks about this for a moment, and then turns back to Keira.}
Roxi – Okay, but if eiter one of us notices something…
Keira – I know…. I’ll call. Promise me that you will too…
Roxi – Of course I will.
Keira – You say that, but more often than not you want to handle it yourself.
Roxi – I’m sorry. I’m just… I’d rather I get in trouble than you.
Keira – We’re partners. Don’t forget that.
{Keira turns and floats into the air.}
Keira – Otherwise you’ll be sleeping on the couch.
{Keira giggles as she flies away. Roxi turns and shakes her head, but she also can’t help but smile.}
Roxi – Yin and yang Rox… yin and yang.
{Roxi flies and sets out on her patrol. She sweeps over the city, which for the most part, are busy, but clean. Nothing really qualifying as a crime out anywhere. As Roxi flies, her eyes scan everything, but nothing looks out of the ordinary. Roxi quickly calls Keira.}
Roxi – Do you see anything?
Keira – People. People being people. Nothing much to talk about here. I told you there’s nothing really going on anymore.
Roxi – I know… it makes me nervous.
Keira – You really need to stop that.
Roxi – I know, I know. Call me if you see anything.
{Roxi ends the call as she continues to fly around the city.}
Maybe Keira is right…. Maybe I just need to relax.
{Roxi is nearly done with the west side, but finally, she sees something out of the ordinary, there a roof with seemingly someone standing near the roof door. She floats down further to investigate. She quickly remember to call Keira.}
Roxi – I think I got something. Old Farmer’s building.
Keira – Be there in a sec.
{As Roxi lands, Keira appears next to her through her instant transmission. They both walk towards the person, but with flashlights out, they can see that it’s a body, Strung up and almost nailed to the wall. Keira rushes up and checks for a pulse.}
Keira – He’s dead. He’s been dead for a while now.
Roxi – I knew I was right.
Keira – We don’t even know who did this, or who this guy is.
{Roxi shines her light on the man’s face, she gasps lightly as she knows.}
Roxi – It’s Allen.
Keira – Our snitch?
Roxi – Yeah…. We’ll have to wait on the coroner’s report for toxicology.
Keira – Drugs?
Roxi – He used to deal and use…. In order to make sure he worked for me, I ignored the smaller stuff he’s done. But if he tried anything, I would have had him brought up on the major charges.
Keira – So… what do you think? I mean, even Louie wouldn’t do this, and he’s mob. They might break his legs or something but… not this. Who would even do this to a person.
{Roxi shines her light around the area, and on the wall a few feet away, written in his own blood, are the words “SNITCH†“DIE FOR YOUR CRIMESâ€}
Roxi – Someone who knows he’s a snitch.
Keira – You think he’s ratted out anyone recently? Payback?
Roxi – No… I’m thinking something else.
{Roxi looks around, for more clues. Not finding any off hand, the scene looks perfect… too perfect.}
Roxi – I’m thinking the body was placed here for us to find. There’s no signs on a struggle, no fight, nothing. There’s no blood trail for that to be his blood either. I think he was killed elsewhere, and brought here.
Keira – So, that means, whoever killed him, knew he was our snitch.
Roxi – Exactly. Check the body.
{Keira begins feelings for any wounds.}
Keira – Lots of puncture wounds. Stabbed. Stabbed a lot. Looks like…. Several knives were used too. These wounds very in size and shape. Someone carved him up with a piece of meat.
Roxi – And then hung him up like one. Any I.D. at all?
{Keira searches Allen’s pockets, finding nothing, but one business card.}
Keira – Just this… a card for…John Gilmore… casting agent.
{It finally dawns on Roxi.}
Roxi – Amelia.
Keira – Amelia?
Roxi – She kidnapped Gilmore. She’s been watching us…. Who else would put a body up this high, with this stuff written? It all adds up. This was done on purpose. To get our attention.
Keira – To make sure we didn’t forget about her.
Roxi – She’s out there. And she’s cutting off our information. She knew we leaned on Allen.
Keira – So now what?
Roxi – Call it in. We’ll…. We’ll just have to wait.
Keira – Wait?! Wait for what?
Roxi – There’s not much we can do… No one’s seen or heard from Gilmore… Amelia’s not made any demands of threats… it’s a waiting game…
Keira – You mean we have to wait until she kills someone else?
Roxi – Until we can figure it out…. Yes.
Keira – Great. I hate feeling like this. We can’t do anything…
Roxi – I know… I hate it too, but we have to play her game.
{Keira sighs as she calls in to Vision to make the anonymous tip about Allen. Roxi looks around, getting the feeling that Amelia is watching… as the scene fades.}
Well, it’s time to get back into the ring and start off this year off on the right foot. I will once again climb into the ring, and once again face a tough opponent. I give Lucy all the credit in the world for being tough, strong, and able to beat anyone on any given day. She will test me like so many others have. Its not like I consider myself a measuring stick or anything, but I guess I’m the old guard these days. None the less, it doesn’t mean I’m taking this match any more or less seriously. I know Lucy is someone I consider a friend, and that makes this tough, but it will not stop me from achieving victory. I am pretty darn good as my track record shows, but that doesn’t mean this will be a walk in the park.
I am excited, and looking forward to this match, and the future matches between Team Hero and Clan, but the second match, will end up much like the first one, where Team Hero comes out on top. I wish you nothing but the best Lucy. I know you’ll bring it, and I’ve seen you bring it before. I expect nothing less than your best, and you will get nothing but my very best. I am ready to go. It’ll be good to be back in the states for SCW too. All kind of new exciting things are happening. And it’s all thanks to SCW’s king, my buddy Despy! Thanks for the opportunity Despy! I won’t let you down! Good luck Lucy, I’ll see you out there!
Ta-ta!
