***Scene: Calgary Counselling Centre in Calgary Alberta, Canada. We're outside of the building as a black 2015 Lexus r.c. 350 f sport pulls into the parking lot. The car approaches a stop and backs into a vacant lot and the engine can be heard shutting down. The windows are a very dark tint so the occupants can't be seen. A few seconds pass by with the camera anxiously awaiting to see who's inside the car as around other people are either arriving or leaving the centre. Various people of all races and backgrounds. The driver door to the Lexus slowly pushes out. Kimberly Evans, wife of Bruce Evans steps out. She's in a red mini skirt, a white tube top, red heels, and her hair flowing in the wind. She closes her door behind her, and with her designer red and white bag in her hand walks around to the passenger door. She reaches for the door's handle as to open it, but struggles as she pulls at it but it appears to be locked. She frowns and begins yelling at whoever is in the car***
Kimberly Evans: Come on, trust me, this is going to do us all good!
***Again she attempts to open the door to the passenger side, with no success. She then reaches into her fancy bag and takes out a set of keys. With a smirk on her face she quickly pushes a button on the keys as the sound of a door being unlocked are heard. She quickly reaches for the door handle, opening the door finally. The camera pans in on the passenger, revealing a distraught looking Bruce Evans. Wearing blue jean shorts, a red tank top, and black and red shoes. As always sunglasses covering his eyes***
BHBE: Come on, we don't need this. Everything's fine baby. Lets just go home already!
***Bruce removes his sunglasses and looks at Kimberly with a glee in his eye***
Kimberly Evans: No Bruce, you heard what my mom said. We need to do this to make our marriage work. Besides it's just one hour out of your day. Trust me, in the long run it's going to benefit us.
***Bruce sighs and the expression on his face is now that of anger as he steps out of the car***
BHBE: Kim, our marriage is fine. Besides what does your mom know? Shes not with us everyday. She hasn't an idea of how our marriage is, unless you're calling her and telling her about everything that happens between us.
Kimberly Evans: Well.....
***Bruce cuts her off***
BHBE: Dammit Kimberly, this is the reason we almost split last time. You've got to understand that our marriage is our marriage,I'm not married to your mom I'm married to you! You have got to stop including her, because every time you do, it ends up in a mess!
*As the two begin walking towards the entrance of the centre Kimberly gives Bruce a dirty look***
Kimberly Evans: But baby, ever since dad died mom's been all alone. She just wants something to do.
BHBE: Well sign her up for senior art class or something, not as a third wheel in our marriage!
***The camera follows the two into the building where they enter. The place is packed with people waiting for their sessions. Bruce and Kimberly walk up to the receptionist area to sign in. The lone receptionist is an older woman. Gray hair, glasses hanging low on her nose, and a blue shirt, her lower regions hidden behind the counter. She stands behind the counter as the couple approaches***
Receptionist: Good Morning. Welcome to the Calgary Counselling Centre. I'm Edna, how may I assist you?
***Bruce begins to speak but is quickly cut off by a now apparently frustrated Kimberly***
Kimberly Evans: Yes, my husband Bruce here is here for a 10:00 appointment with Dr. Dolan...
***Bruce gives Kimberly a frown as Edna begins looking through paper work***
Edna: Yes, I have it right here. He's ready to see you, just take this here to room seventeen and he'll be right with you.
***Kimberly grabs the paper work from Edna and Bruce begins to pout like a child, mumbling words under his breath as the two walk down a hall full of rooms. After about a minute they approach room seventeen. Dr. Dolan's name on the door***
Kimberly Evans: Okay Bruce. I'll be back in an hour to get you.
***A look of surprise crosses the face of Bruce***
BHBE: What do ya mean you'll be back? I thought we were doing this together?
Kimberly Evans: Ugh no..... trust me it's best you get this done on your own. I've already had my session and trust me this guy is one of the best in town. He's going to do wonders!
***Bruce angrily snatches the papers from Kimberly's hands and reaches to turn the door knob***
Kimberly: What about a kiss good-bye?
***As Kimberly puckers her lips towards Bruce for a kiss, he rejects her and completely ignores her and storms into the room. Kimberly quickly walks off with an angry expression on her face as the cameras then take us into Dr. Dolan's therapy room. He's not in yet as Bruce looks around the room. It's quite the fancy room. Black leather sofa, love seat, and a huge desk full of portraits of what are probably the doctor's family members. All over the walls are plaques, awards, and certificate of achievements. Bruce doesn't seem to be impressed as he takes a seat on the sofa and begins talking to himself***
BHBE: Can't believe this shit. Help our marriage? I don't see what's wrong with it. I mean what does she want from me? I'm still giving her a show every night. What more can I do? Who does she think I am, Superman?
***As Bruce continues talking to himself, the door to the room opens and in walks a tall good looking blonde. Black slacks, purple shirt, black and purple tie, and black dress shoes. He resembles Brad Pitt. Bruce quickly jumps from the sofa as the man walks over to him extending his hand to Bruce***
Man: Hi there. I'm Doctor Dolan, pleasure to meet you. You are Bruce Evans right?
***Reluctantly Bruce shakes his hand***
BHBE: Yea.
Dr. Dolan: Okay, thanks for coming. We've got a lot to cover this morning. Let's start off with...
***Bruce cuts the doctor off as he sits back on the sofa and Dr. Dolan walks around to his desk and takes a seat***
BHBE: Look doc! Nothing to talk about here. The wife is delusional. All is well. So here's what we'll do. For the next hour we'll pretend as if you and I had a successful session. She'll come back to pick me up and you'll tell her there was a breakthrough and all is fine and dandy. Got it!?!
***The doctor shakes his head as to disagree with Bruce***
Dr. Dolan: Look, I know this is hard. Trust me. People really hate coming to a therapist. But, you're wife has already paid me, and I have in my notes all the problems. So we're going to have to do this. Trust me, it'll help you out and you'll be thanking your wife and I for it later...
***Bruce lays on the sofa and puts his feet up as the doctor reads through his paper work***
Dr. Dolan: So it says here the main problem seems to be your obsession with your career. It appears over the last few months you've let it become your first priority. Even before your family. Where is your career in terms of importance over your family?
***Bruce's face lights up with frustration***
BHBE: I don't know where that came from. Anyone who knows me will tell you that my family always comes first. First before Anything!
Dr. Dolan: Well, according to Kim. You quit last year and when you did things with you and the family were good while you were away from the business. You returned this year and she notices the distractions are back again and you're spending all your time again with and around the business instead of your family.
BHBE: Doc it's an exaggeration! Kimberly and I have been together for over 20 years. She was with me when I first got started in the wrestling industry. She knew then what it was going to be like. Never had a problem with it until recently. I don't know what her problem has been lately. It's like she's jealous of the business when all I'm trying to do is provide for her and our family.
Dr. Dolan: Well she says she always knew wrestling was a priority for you, but since you're return it's taken first place. What has changed since your return in which this time you're dedicating yourself more to the business than the family?
BHBE: I don't know. I think it's a bit different this time around. I mean, I know this is going to be my last run. I've done and seen a lot in my years in the industry. But for some reason I just feel this time around I've got to prove myself more than ever. Ya see, I'm a vet in this business. One of the oldest in the locker room. A lot of the guys coming in are young enough to be my son. To be honest doc, I'm a little embarrassed. I know that in my last run I've got more to prove. I have to win a title before I leave. I just have to!
***The doctor gets up from his desk. He walks over, grabs the chair in front of his desk and puts it in front of the couch Bruce is laying on, and takes a seat***
Dr. Dolan: I can understand that trust me. Now let me ask you, if you were to win a title, do you think your family time would be more present?
***Bruce ponders to himself for a second or two***
BHBE: Well, to be honest Doc. That's when the real work would begin. Ya see, when you're a champion in the company you're expected to work even harder. Even harder to keep that title. So your time then becomes focused on training harder. Working like you've never worked before. A work horse is what we call it.
Dr. Dolan: So what I'm hearing is that it's going to be a lose/lose situation in any case for your family time?
BHBE: Well, it's like this. Either way I think the family needs to understand that this is my last go around. I feel as if they're being selfish. I think they should understand how much this means to me. Right?
Dr. Dolan: I'm not here to judge Bruce. I'm here to hear your thoughts. My opinions don't matter. It's what you take from here and learn that matters...
***Bruce sits up***
BHBE: Doc, I need a huge favor. Could you give me a few minutes alone, please?
***The doctor looks puzzled as he stands up from his seat***
Dr. Dolan: Mr. Evans, whatever you think will help you. If you need to contemplate alone, that's alright with me. Just holler when you're done.
***Bruce stands up, and shakes hands with the doctor as Dr. Dolan exits the room, closing the door behind him. Bruce takes a seat back on the sofa***
BHBE: I've gotta do this! I've gotta do this! I've gotta do this! Who am I without my career? What am I without my career. I mean after all I've done for my family this is the thanks I get? After putting Kimberly in the most extravagant clothing, jewelry, cars, shoes, houses. After putting the kids through the finest universities across the world? After they've gotten all the finer things in life it feels like they we're using me. Now that they have the best it's like they don't need me anymore. Like they expect me to just sit around and grow liver spots doing absolutely nothing.
***Bruce briefly pauses, looking around the room***
BHBE: Sunday. Climax Control. It's a big chance. Matter of fact a HUGE chance. Four way match with three very tough competitors. This could revamp my career. This could put me back on top. A win here would definitely have people taking me serious again. It would have people see me as the present of this business and not the past. Not just some old timer trying to live off the past. Vincent Peterson. Kris Halc. Former S.C.W. world champion Gene Jr. This is an opportunity that I might never get again. I mean if I lose this match it'll certainly bump me back down that ladder I've being trying to climb since coming back here. I've got three of the most talented guys on the roster, a win here would surely prove to the office that I am capable of once again headlining for the promotion.
***Bruce looks around, the look on his face as if he's admiring the many achievements of the doctor***
BHBE: We all live for one reason. That reason is to be the best at what we do. Look at this guy. A doctor. Making good money. Probably one of if not the best at his profession. He does it because it's a passion for him. Everyday he wakes up he thrives to be the absolute best. Every man in this industry of wrestling is in it for one reason. I don't care who you are or what you say. We're all in it to eventually become the World Champion. The top of the business. That man that every one else will envy. This Sunday at Climax Control, I don't care what stupid Halloween stipulation is added to this four way. Because believe me when I say this, I am going to North Carolina to do one thing, and that is WIN!
***Bruce gets up, walking over to the doctor's desk. He takes one of the portraits off the desk and looks at it, would seem to be a picture of the doctor's wife. A very attractive blonde***
BHBE: Vincent Peterson, I gotta admit I don't know much about you. All I know is that I've seen you in action before and you're not some walk over. Ya got the talent. But to me you're still a kid living in a man's world. What are ya 19 years old? Still wet behind the ears as far as I'm concerned. You're like a punk little kid that to me has a lot to learn. To me you're going to learn more than anyone else in this match. Being in the ring with a legend such as myself with teach you more than you could ever learn in any other match with any other wrestler in this business. So this Sunday Vince. Grease up those ridiculous looking dreads or whatever that crap is you call hair, and get ready for the ride of your life. Because I promise you I will NOT let some young punk come in and steal my journey back to the top...
***Bruce picks up another portrait, this one of two blonde children, a boy and a girl. Looking at it as he continues to speak***
BHBE: Kris, the "Ace of Clubs" what club is that? What we strive for in life is sometimes never met with success. Some of us keep going for it. We simply dust ourselves off and try again. We try harder to get as close to perfection as humanly possible. Kris, I'm one of the ones that has dusted myself off. This Sunday I'm going to try again. You have impressed me in your short while in S.C.W. While I was away I continued to watch the company. I had some guys such as yourself that I feel have all the potential in the world. Problem is, this weekend the office has royally screwed you over because you're in the same ring with me, against me. Kris, as you know I've never been one to give a damn about what people think of me. I've never lived my life trying to please anyone more than myself. I don't know what your goals are, what you plan to accomplish while you're here in Sin City Wrestling, and honestly I don't really care. But, if one of those goals is to win this Sunday at Climax Control in that four corners match. You need to sit down, think long, think hard, and THINK AGAIN!
***As Bruce puts down the portrait of the two children, he picks up what appears to be a diploma***
BHBE: Last but certainly not least, Gene! Former S.C.W. champion. I sat there in my house on July 15th and watched you win that title. I applauded for you. I saw in you a man that I thought could carry this company. A man that could be the face of this company for a long long long time to come. A little over a month later, you lost it! The fact that you've done what many of us dream of doing, winning that world title was in itself impressive. But, when you lost it, it showed us that you we're not the dominate man you portrayed. Sure you had stiff competition in Mr. Drake Green, but you failed, and you failed miserably. Face it little Banton, you will NEVER be able to be nearly as good as your dad. You're good, but you're not great. I know you too have a lot to learn. You won the world title at a young age and you made the mistake of letting it go to your head. This Sunday, you're going to make the mistake of thinking you can take me out.
***Bruce puts the diploma back on the desk and walks back over to the sofa. He lays back down***
BHBE: This Sunday. Climax Control. I am going to show the office, the locker room, the world. That this here is my life! No more sitting back taking crap and letting it slide. I will go into North Carolina, home of some of the greatest of all time. I will go in with people doubting me, people still not believing in me. I will walk out with the entire world not only believing in me, but realizing that age is nothing but a number. Despite the stipulation to this match, and trust me I've been involved in some really stupid gimmick matches in the past. I promise the world that I will be the one that is left standing, hand held high in the air in victory. For the other three men in this match, you'll have that honor of having being able to tell your kids, grand kids, great grand kids that once upon a time. You were in the ring with the The FRANCHISE, The ICON, the LEGEND..... Blaque Hart Bruce Evans!!!
*** Bruce grows an evil smirk across his face as he pushes a button on the wall which is a call button alerting the doctor. As the scene fades Dr. Dolan walks back in the room as Bruce lays across the sofa, feet crossed, and a cocky smile on his face***
