 Steve lost to Equinox in a close match that ended up being a strap match, knowing how stubborn Steve is he isn’t about to give up that easily and fortunately for him the bosses decided to give him a second chance by putting him in the final Going for Gold Match against Amy Marshall’s Boyfriend Gabriel Asar and Connor Murphy, like all the other Going for Gold matches this was a Triple Threat Roulette Rules match, a stipulation that Steve has acquired quite a bit of experience in during his time in SCW but can he win?

A local bar, Mesa, Arizona

Whoever said “good things come to those who wait” probably wasn’t thinking about a failure happening one week and a chance for redemption the following week, just saying.

That’s how I’m looking at the Going for Gold Match at Climax Control, a second chance that I am not going to waste! Gabriel Asar and Connor Murphy are talented guys but I have the experience edge over them and at the end of the day that will lead me to the Roulette Title Match at Violent Conduct II and the Roulette Title match.

When I said that I was going to kick the asses of everyone else in the Fatal Four Way at Violent Conduct II I meant it! It may not be happening the way I intended it but fuck it! I can adapt my plans!

So where am I now? I’m at a local metal bar in Mesa, Arizona with Charlotte and Sophie is back at the hotel with a babysitter I can trust, namely Jessie, Jessie and the boys were gonna come but they cancelled saying that they had blown their last paycheck on getting everything sorted for next year’s Bloodstock so yeah, they won’t be coming, which is good because certain idiots like to think that two stablemates of the opposite sex hanging out together means that they are having an affair.

I’m just saying they seem to get most of their exercise from jumping to conclusions!

“Are you still trying to decide what song to play on the jukebox Steve?” Charlotte asked as I looked through the jukebox’s selection, there was a good mix of old school and new school metal ranging from Thrash acts like Nuclear Assault and Warbringer to Death Metal acts like Cannibal Corpse and Cattle Decapitation so yeah it’s a pretty damn good selection.

Well besides the fact that it has a whole Bring me the Horizon album on it.

“I’m like a fat kid in a fully stocked candy store I can’t decide what I want!” I responded with a grin as I looked through the selection, I eventually decided on the Iron Maiden classic “The Trooper” and put the coin in before rejoining my family and waiting for the song to start allowing the sizable queue that had formed behind me to finally have a turn. “Sorry guys.” I called out to them before turning to my family. “So have there been any promos from Connor or Gabriel?” I asked and Charlotte checked the phone for SCW updates.

“Nope, there have been no promos yet.” Charlotte responded as my song choice came on. “How did I know you were going to go for Iron Maiden?”

“Am I that predictable? Don’t answer that.” I responded with a frown as I watched the other bar patrons make their choices finishing with a guy who looked like a typical fan of Bring me the Horizon, don’t tell me he’s going to play that band. “Besides Iron Maiden have influenced more bands than I care to count and I’m not even counting the Power Metal genre.”

“I know but every time we come to a bar like this you always play Iron Maiden on the jukebox.” Charlotte responded as she shook her head. “Hell I had to talk you out of butchering Iron Maiden’s Fear of the Dark at the Live Band Karaoke Bloodstock was doing on the Friday Night.”

“My vocals aren’t that bad!” I quickly asserted and Charlotte shook her head, the song ended and the next few songs started to play. “Anyway back on the topic of SCW, I know Gabriel and Connor are talented guys but I’m a motivated veteran who can still go in the ring I think that says it all really.” I added as two Grindcore songs started to play, I say two because songs that are short and to the point are the hallmark of that genre. “Besides this is my second chance at winning the SCW Roulette Title from Equinox and I’m not going to let it go to waste.”

“If you say so Steve, and it sounds like you’re ready to do your promo.” Charlotte commented and I nodded in response, I just needed an excuse to leave the bar for a few minutes.

And then an intro that I quickly recognized started to play.

“Can you tell from the look in our eyes?

“OH HELL NO!” I yelled out as soon as I realized that the Bring me the Horizon fan had put on the song “Shadow Moses” and no, it’s not about Metal Gear, that would actually improve it, to be fair it’s the only Bring me the Horizon song that I consider decent but one diamond doesn’t turn a bag of dog turds into a bag of diamonds, just look at the Mean Girls. ”Babe, I’ll be outside.”

“I’ll call you when the shit band has stopped playing.” Charlotte responded and we shared a quick kiss before I left, the car park was deserted aside from the cars which made it a perfect opportunity to start my promo.

“There are two things that I don’t wish upon my worst enemy, yes, even you Gabriel, seeing Bring me the Horizon in concert and losing to the same guy twice for the same title, I may have lost my first match against Equinox last week but after I defeat Gabriel Asar and Connor Murphy in the last Going for the Gold match I will set my sights on finishing what I started.”

Namely winning the Roulette Title, anyway first up is Gabriel.

“Gabriel, be glad that you’re not a retiring douche with an emo haircut that happens to be facing the soon to be former SCW Roulette Champion because otherwise I’d have to beat the shit out of you! All joking aside I have one goal heading into Violent Conduct II and that’s’ to leave Violent Conduct II with the SCW Roulette Championship! You may be screwing Amy Marshall but not even her kinky antics can prepare you for our match!”

Next up is Connor.

“You know I had almost forgotten that Connor was still on the roster but can you blame me? The guy hasn’t exactly set the SCW world on fire since his debut! He may be planning to change that by winning the SCW Roulette Championship but that won’t be happening as long as I am in this match because I have my eyes set on the title and nothing is standing in my way!”

It’s that simple.

“Asar, Connor, don’t get me wrong you two are talented and future champions in your own right but those championship reigns won’t happen as a result of this match, oh no, I will be the next SCW Roulette Champion because I am a veteran with a smart mouth and enough motivation to rebuild the Roman Empire from scratch, in other words, nothing’s going to stop me!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Asar, Connor, you may think I’m over the hill but after this match you’ll wish that you had faced someone who was actually over the hill! Just remember kids that there is nothing to fear but fear itself and no one to fear but “The Fearless One” Steve Ramone who will be the future SCW Roulette Champion!”

“Steve, the shitty song stopped and the kid who playing it left during your promo.” Charlotte called out to me and I grinned before returning to the bar as the scene fades.
