 Jessie Salco wasn’t the only SCW Superstar who traveled to England for the annual Bloodstock Music Festival in Derbyshire, England as Steve and his family joined them for their first ever Bloodstock, after that festival Steve was given a second week off in a row despite the fact that he stayed away from the Mosh Pits all weekend.

This week however he was in action and it was a big match to return to as Steve was challenging Equinox for the SCW Roulette Championship, Steve won this opportunity at the Into the Void III event a few weeks ago and now Steve was getting ready to challenge for the title but on top of all that whoever won this match would have a big test ahead of them at Violent Conduct II as the bosses where holding qualifier matches to see which three men and women would challenge for their division’s Roulette Championship at the next Supercard and the talented rookie Kris Halc has already qualified for the men’s Roulette Title Match, can Steve look past that and focus on the present by defeating Equinox to win his first title in years?

Ah the great, exhausting outdoors, gotta love them!

Okay, just to make one thing clear, I’m in good shape, I’d have to be in order to wrestle as well as I can, but you want to know how many hikes I’ve been on in my life-time? I’ll give you a hint they can be counted on one hand using one finger, that’s right! Once and it’s the one I’m currently on, so why did I decide to come?

My daughter’s mastered the art of the puppy dog eyes.

Don’t believe me? She got separated from us during the Bloodstock weekend whilst we were looking for a good stall to get some food from and we searched all over for her, thankfully she had been found by some local metalheads and she used her puppy dog eyes to convince them to take her to us rather than wait for us at the location and as an added bonus they happened to be fans of SCW.

That’s not the only thing she discovered during the weekend though.

Through some weird combination of walking around a muddy field and experiencing live music for the first time in her life, the fact that she turned six on the Saturday Night helped, she discovered a love for the great outdoors and made it clear once we returned to the hotel after Megadeth closed the festival on Sunday that she wanted to start going out on hikes like this one.

At least it’s a good workout for the Roulette Title Match.

“Dad, do I really need to slow down for you?” Sophie called out from the top of the hill we were hiking up, I’m a professional athlete and yet my six year old daughter is ahead of me, is my age getting the best of me? Can’t be, I’m 26 years old I’m not even in my prime yet! “Hurry up!”

“Honey, I’m the one carrying the supplies, just be a little patient for daddy!” I called out to her as I trekked up the hill, this place is part park part nature reserve but we’re sticking to the park part for obvious reasons. “Take her to Bloodstock you said, it’ll be fun you said, it’s not like it’s going to rain for most of the weekend and she’ll discover a love for the great outdoors you said!” I muttered under my breath as I, finally, reached the top of the hill. “Well Sophie, we’ve reached the point where I literally can’t see the car from here, I think we’ve gone far enough!” I said as I sat down on the hill.

“Okay, fine.” Sophie pouted and I grinned a bit. “Are you going to win the title on Sunday daddy?”

“I’ve been ready for this since the Gabriel feud….” I trailed off when I saw Sophie cast her eyes downward, she’s clearly still traumatized from the experience. “I’m sorry Sophie, but it’s true, winning the King of the Hill match was my first step to capturing the Roulette Title and this title match on Sunday will be my way to shut up all the haters out there.” I added as I grabbed a water bottle from the backpack and took a sip from it. “And as for the three guys that will be my first defense, well I beat three guys to earn this opportunity and I’ll beat three guys to retain the title!” I added when I noticed Sophie giggling. “What are you giggling about?”

“Dad, you know the movie Titanic?” She said and I winced, oh no, I know exactly where she’s going with this and just to make things clear I hate Titanic with the passion of a Latino lover!

“Honey, you know I hate that movie!” I groaned as I ran my hand down my face, it’s times like these that I curse Charlotte for choosing what movies to watch for Movie Night every other week, however when I saw her pouting I conceded. “My enemies are never going to let me live this down.” I muttered under my breath before standing up and stretching out my arms like that famous scene in titanic, you know the one. “I’M THE KING OF THE HILL!”  I yelled out and thankfully there was no one else around besides me, Sophie and the camera crew and she was jumping for joy as I let my arms rest by my side. “Happy?”

“Very!” Sophie responded with a big grin on her face. “Dad, can I test out the camera you got me for my birthday?”

“Do you remember how to use it?” I asked and she nodded before I handed it over, it wasn’t anything special but it did its job well enough and if she’s going to continue to go on nature hikes like this I figured I may as well let her have something to commemorate them with, still since she’s busy taking pictures I figure that it’s time to start on my promo.

“Since my arrival in SCW last September I have been called a number of different things, pathetic, over the hill, past his prime, I could go on but if I did then this promo would last for the rest of the day and by the end of it Sophie will be asleep! However I’m getting sick of all these idiots thinking that I’m not worthy of my spot in SCW, ESPECIALLY a couple of absolute morons who named themselves after a Five Finger Death Punch song despite the fact that one member of the team has Vietnam like flashbacks every time he hears one song by the band who’s hobbies include attacking non wrestlers with chairs whilst their mentor makes fun of a Bombshell’s abusive childhood and acting tough about it!”

You know who you are.

“My next match is a chance to turn things around I won the King of the Hill match at Into the Void III a match that a certain brat prince thinks I won by a fluke to which I say pot calling the kettle black! Point is I earned my championship opportunity in that match and now I’m getting it! This Sunday I’m challenging Equinox for the SCW Roulette Championship and if he thinks that he’s going to make it to Violent Conduct II as the champion then he’s just as sadly mistaken as the Mean Girls are at ever capturing the SCW Tag Team Championship or being taken seriously as wrestlers!”

Why yes, I am on a mission to piss everyone off in this promo, can’t you tell?

“Equinox, you’ve held onto the Roulette Championship with an iron fist and knowing how tough the competition in SCW is I applaud you for that! However I was once in a similar situation, you see back in the GWA I held the GWA Airborne Championship for months! I defeated challengers left and right and it looked like I would never lose the title so what happened?”

Unfortunately this tale doesn’t end with me holding the title until the GWA folded.

“I ended up losing the title to a new guy called Mr. Juggalo, yes, really, and I never won back that title despite many tries, what I’m getting at is that no reign lasts forever and sooner or later yours will end and as far as I’m concerned your reign ends this Sunday! You may say to yourself that you’ll never let yourself fall into that situation and that you’ll win the title back someday but trust me, it’s all in fates hands!”

And not just because of the Roulette Wheel.

“When I win this match it’ll mark the start of my first title reign since the GWA folded, to put that in perspective it’ll be my first reign in five years! Now before you jump down my throat and laugh at me for that fact as I’m sure the Sinners are eager to do since they love jumping to conclusions and all I retired after the GWA closed to help raise Sophie, Charlotte got pregnant with her shortly after the AWA opened its doors and whilst I initially tried to make it work I took time off to make sure that she had a father figure in her life and outside of brief comebacks in several feds I stuck to my word before I finally made my full comeback in ACW and later SCW, what I’m getting at is this! Winning this title will mean that this comeback has been worth it!”

And trust me, it will be worth it.

“As for those comments about me being over the hill, you know what separates me from many other veteran wrestlers who return to the ring after a retirement? I retired to damn early! Seriously, who the hell retires at twenty one with no injuries involved and lets it stick? Not me! This time I’m here to stay and this Sunday I will win that title!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Before I continue…..” I took a deep breath before unzipping my jacket revealing a t-shirt with a picture of Robin Williams on it accompanied by the test “RIP Robin Williams”. “I don’t think anything else needs to be said before this.” I added before putting my hands in my pockets. “Equinox, this Sunday I’m walking away with the gold one way or another and the three guys that I’ll be facing at Violent Conduct don’t scare me one bit, so to Equinox and my next three opponents remember that there’s nothing to fear but fear itself and no one to fear but “The Fearless One” Steve Ramone, the King of the Hill who happens to be conducting his promo atop a hill.”

“I’m ready to go daddy!” Sophie said and I grinned.

“Good, let’s go.” I said before leading her down the hill as the scene fades.
