Where there is desire
There is gonna be a flame
Where there is a flame
Someone's bound to get burned

Chapter 2: Divinity Exposed
"People say that a person’s past can be their downfall. That the past isn't worth going back to understand the present. What do they know right? In order to understand my present state, you have to understand my past state. My past is more than just growing up in the military and it is more than just a band that I was with over the past year. My past is more than just being a teen that was awkward and funky like my opponent is. My past is about surviving and thriving, but I shall let my story speak for itself. I am Marisol Hawkes, and this is how divinity was born…"
Four years ago. Dayton Ohio
It was a typical summer day in Dayton Ohio. Cars are driving by and as you come to a stop at the stop sign, you look to your right. A brick house with pink flowers along the flower bed and a gravel driveway is what you saw. You then saw a woman was outside mowing a small yard. She was dancing along to the music in her IPod and singing as well. The woman looked at her watch and stopped dancing for a moment.
“He is going to be home soon….oh great.”
You smile and drive along as a silver pickup truck drove by you. You slowly made your way across the street as the pulled into the driveway. The woman stopped mowing and wiped some sweat off of her brow. As she went to start up the lawn mower again, she heard the statement that she never wanted to hear.
“Get over here Marisol! Now!”
The woman winced as she pushed the mower out of the way and she slowly made her way over to the driveway where the pickup truck was sitting. The man that was standing by the pickup truck was tapping his left foot fast and looking at his watch. The woman looked up at the man and stood in the yard with a worried look on her face before looking back down toward the ground.
“Get over here Mari.”
The woman just stood there, frozen in fear as she glared up towards the man. The man glared back at the woman and he growled a low growl.
“Closer to me you little bitch.”
“Why should I? So you can just hit me again?”
The man balled his right hand up into a fist and started charging at the woman. The woman froze in her spot in fear, knowing what was coming next. The woman closed her eyes as the man tackled her to the ground. The woman screamed as her head hit the grass hard. The man then started throwing left and right jabs to the woman’s face and ribs as neighbors were screaming for the man to get off of the woman. A man came running up into the yard and he tried to pull the man off of the woman. As the man was pulled off of the woman, the woman grabbed her face to try and hide it. The man that had hit the woman was sitting on the sidewalk with a smirk on his face as a police car pulled up in front of the house. The other man went up to check on the woman.
“Are you all right Mari?”
The woman looked up at the other man with a glazed look in her eyes as she couldn’t move her head that much. The woman moaned a bit before she started to close her eyes. An officer walked up to the man and the woman and knelt down.
“Miss? Are you okay miss?”
The woman’s eyes rolled in the back of her head as the officer called for a squad to the address. The man sat on the sidewalk and the other man just held her hand. The woman just lied there motionless as events unfolded that were out of her control.
"I have been harassed for the last time by that blonde wench. Liz Smalls is a woman who just doesn't care...and it shows. I have had what my ex done to me thrown back in my face for long enough. Liz Smalls, you will be made the example. You will be the one to understand why divinity never dies. Remember where there is smoke, there is fire. Where there is fire, you will be burned and Liz, your public twitter life will come back to haunt you when you least expect it."
Seven days prior to the SCW match. Fairborn Ohio.
It was a cool night in Fairborn Ohio and the sky was clear. The moonlight was bright as ever and it was right over a rustic looking barn. As the beams of moonlight shown through the boards that held the roof together, you heard giggling over top of slow music that was coming from the indoor hay loft that was at the top of the barn. As you walked into the barn, you see that clothes are on the ground and you heard more giggling. The deeper giggling stopped and you heard someone talking.
“Are you ready for your match against Liz Smalls?”
The giggling turned to silence for a moment and then you heard a sigh. You go up the rusty ladder to the hay loft and you sit on the far end where it was dark. As you look towards the other end of the loft, you see Marisol Hawkes and her fiancée Sterling James underneath a blue and black checkered blanket. Sterling turned over on his side and took a sigh. Marisol looked over at Sterling and rubbed his cheek gently.
“I am done with Liz. She claims to be nineteen years old but she acts like a spoiled ten year old and besides, I don’t think she has an ounce of respect in her bones.”
Sterling chuckled and cleared the red long bangs out of Marisol’s face. Marisol smiled at Sterling and then cuddled next to him. Marisol looked up and noticed that the clouds were starting to cover up some of the moonlight that made the night. Marisol cuddled closer to Sterling and just sighed. Sterling took his fingers and traced down her cheek to her neck and chest. Marisol just looked up and smirked at her fiancee.
“You don’t seem worried at all tonight eh?”
Marisol chuckled and shook her head no.
“Not really Sterling. Dad is okay inside the house and I just want to enjoy the time with you before we have to head out for SCW this week. This is your first week as my manager, so I want you to be there for me.”
Sterling smiles and then plants a passionate kiss upon the lips of Marisol. The pair get very passionate very quick and Sterling pulls himself upon top of Marisol under the blanket. You could hear a slight moan from Marisol as Sterling slowly kissed her down her neck.
“I thought we…were on the topic of my match…”
Sterling stopped kissing her down on her body for a moment and looked back up at her. His eyes said to Marisol that he didn’t want to talk anymore and Marisol saw that. Marisol gave Sterling an evil smirk as he went back to Marisol’s side. Thunder started to clap outside and Marisol rolled closer to Sterling. Sterling just laughed a bit and held his fiancée close to his bare chest.
“What is there to worry about Marisol? You will take care of Liz. The roulette wheel will give you what you want and you will fight the match no matter what. You are a fighter Mari. You are my fighter and I love you so much.”
Marisol cuddled into Sterling as another clap of thunder could be heard outside. Sterling chuckled and Marisol opened her eyes to look into Sterling’s eyes. Sterling smiled as lighting flashed across his face. Marisol smiled as she kissed him passionately. The pair started getting very passionate as you creep away to leave them alone in privacy.
Present Day. Fairborn Ohio.
You were back at the barn that you found the night before, and you saw Marisol Hawkes hitting a punching bag. She stops and looks to find you standing there just watching her train. She motioned for you to walk over and you smile meekly as you make your way over. You stop at the door of the barn and lean against the door frame as she begins to speak to you.
"I have never broken hearts. That is something that people tell me all of the time. My mother told me that before she divorced my father. My best friend JJ told me that before he just dropped off of the face of the planet. Those things haven't really bothered me that bad. I can brush those things off and train hard for my 2CW world title match that is Saturday night. There is one person however that pushes my buttons so much that I want to end her wrestling career."
Marisol balls her fist up and hits the punching bag twice. You jump a bit as the sound of her fist hits your ears with force. Marisol took a sigh and then looked back at you with a sense of anger in her eyes.
"Liz Smalls. Yes, the chuckle from your lips states to me that you know the wench. Liz claims to be an 'entertainer' but when did the sport of pro wrestling become entertainment? Now yes I know some matches are for entertainment value, but this match that we are in isn't one to take lightly. A roulette wheel chooses our fate."
You sat down in the doorway on the ground and she grabbed her water bottle. You cocked your head to the side as she sat down on a hay bale that was right across from you. Marisol takes a drink from her water bottle and you just take a sigh.
"I hate Liz. I don't normally say those words, but I hate Liz. How she got a hold of my past is one thing, but how she rubs it in my face every chance she gets is a complete different degree that no one should ever go to. You see it on Twitter every chance you get. Liz has called me a punching bag, but you have seen the punching bag that I have been hitting. It is old, run down and torn in a few places. I will make Liz look like that bag, if the crack doesn't get to her first."
You look at Marisol with a bit of a confused look. Marisol just laughs and stands right back up from the hay bail. Marisol puts down her water bottle and walks over to the punching bag. Marisol wipes a tear from her eye and you just continue to watch her as she starts punching the punching bag again.
"You want to call me a punching bag Lizzie? I will show you what it is like to become a punching bag. I will show you the true form of domestic violence. Only our form in pro wrestling is the legal kind. You want to throw my abusive past back in my face? You want to make me ending up in the hospital a joke? No man should ever be able to hit the woman he says he loves. I went through hell…and part of my past still haunts me. My ex…still monitors my every move. That doesn’t mean that I just stop living life."
Marisol stopped punching the punching bag and she started crying. You stood up and Marisol looked back at you with tears down her face. You gave her a look that you wanted to help her and Marisol just shook her head no.
"I want the wheel to land on a weapons match. I know that it may not happen the way I want it, but I know for a fact that whatever the case may be, I will be taking Liz Smalls out of action. I hope to bring things to the ring to make sure she doesn’t squirm out of this match at all. She wants to ‘entertain some people, then she better bring her A game to the match. I will make sure that she doesn’t walk out of this match in one piece."
Marisol shoos you away and you sigh before you start to walk from the barn. You see Marisol’s fiancée walking towards her and you just smile before you leave the property.
