Gold Coast Hotel and Casino – Locker room area
Las Vegas, Nevada
10:10 PM Local Time

“Well, that was almost too easy!”

Mercedes looks back at the camera as her grin widens. She is still in her wrestling gear as she is delivering this promo. Climax Control is still going on at the moment, so she sometimes has to raise her voice as we can hear the crowd interaction inside the Gold Coast Casino.

Mercedes: Losing my touch, huh,  Lizzie? Going through a midlife crisis, right, Joanne? Well, you girls sure showed me, didn't you? Hey, at least you tried to live up to what you said about me, but tonight at the final Climax Control of 2013, the world saw just how wrong you both were.

And after this latest tilt, it kinda makes you think just how many other things Lizzie and Joanne were wrong about...

Mercedes: You'll excuse me if I'm not jumping for joy after our match, bad knees and all. Lord knows I can't keep up with you twentysomethings.

She didn't have good idea on the ratio of that number, but she could probably count them on her finger and toes.

Mercedes: And speaking of (using air quotes) “the Lord”, it must have been quite a shock when Matthew Kennedy witnessed his prized pupil not getting very far in the match. What a disappointment. Ah, it's just as well. Four-way matches aren't easy.

To be fair, Lizzie was a rookie, as was Traci, so the lack of experience was there, and so was making silly rookie mistakes. Joanne Canelli was a veteran of SCW, so Mercedes expected better from the former Bombshell Roulette Champion. Mercedes rakes a hand through her brunette hair as she leans on one of the lockers and crosses her arms across her chest.

Mercedes: I said that this match was a waste of my time, and what happens? Tonight proved it in Viva Las Vegas. My opponents should be proud of themselves for once again proving me right. And Joanne? You said in your promo that the last time we met, I fell flat on my face? That's funny, because even though I'm getting older, my memory is pretty sharp. I don't seem to remember falling flat on my face – or on my back for that matter – since I set foot in SCW. That streak still continues, no thanks to you, when you ended up on YOUR back, staring up at the lights - the burning white-hot lights of SHAME - for the 1-2-3. Tell me something, Jo: You get paid for kicking ass, right? So, riddle me this: When you had to return to your little mafia friends and report your failure, did they withhold that payment? I mean, sure, you got your licks in, but, in the end, who walked out with their hand raised?

Mercedes pauses, expecting an answer, but we know it's pretty obvious.

Mercedes: And the last time we faced each other, in a match also involving other people, who walked out of that first blood match at Into the Void II, my pay-per-view debut, back in June last year with their hand raised?

Mercedes arches an eyebrow.

Mercedes: I rest my case.

She smirks.

Mercedes: Don't you just love it when a plan comes together? Step one was beating you jokers. Step two, getting back the Bombshell Roulette Championship from Amy Marshall. She's been getting lucky for way too long. I'll say this much for her, she may be a champion to close out 2013, but come the first Climax Control of 2014 in two weeks, my New Year's resolution is taking that title off of her.

She shrugs her shoulders while smiling.

Mercedes: How hard can it be?

Fade.

Standing under a streetlight near an IHOP, a New York Rangers baseball cap drawn over her brunette hair while wearing a heavy parka and shivering from the unnerving cold, Mercedes Vargas has the patience of Job, given the way she had to wait for the last half hour for her ride. Breathing through the cold air, she pulled out a gloved hand from the parka's side pocket and removes the glove and checking her watch for what seemed like the fifth time and barely able to decipher it due it being fogged up. She searches among the parked vehicles for her ride, but still no luck.

Two short blasts causes her to look up. A gloved hand waves at her from a maroon SUV. Mercedes walks over, hesitates, then continues. The tinted window stops halfway and goes down a few inches automatically. Mercedes squints to get a better view of the driver. The sheepish expression gave it away. Mercedes shakes her head, knowing that it was her brother, Jorge.

"Well, are you going to stand there or what? Get in! It's freezing!"

Mercedes opens the passenger side door and leans against it, giving her brother a withered glare.

"I should kill you right now."

Jorge turns on the radio which begins playing "Drive" by The Cars.

"Who's gonna drive you home tonight?"

[REC  ]

The scene opens with a close-up view of the plating of the SCW Bombshell Roulette Championship as we pull back to see it on the shoulders of Mercedes Vargas. Obviously, she not holding the real title, but goes with it here.

"Happy New Year, SCW. As you can see, I still am the current, reigning, and defending Sin City Wrestling Bombshell Roulette Champ - "

She stops mid-sentence. This promo wasn't going well as she had hope. She takes off the title and looks at it with aplomb, then back at the camera.

"OK, so this is just a replica title I picked up from the SCW merchandise store. But you know what? There's a lesson in all this, and I'll get to that in a moment. Now, you people may have seen how I single-handedly defeated three Bombshells in one night to get another title opportunity. Of course, Amy Marshall had the best seat in the house as she got a real good look at her future on Sunday.

"Whenever I got a break in the match, I looked back at the announce desk. I saw how Amy Marshall was chatting away with Bindy and Jason, having a grand time. But there was something there that even they couldn't see - fear. It was all over her face. She was out there, scared, she was damn near terrified. I thought I saw her biting her nails, wishing that anyone would win that four-way BUT me."

"Well, all that wishing and hoping and thinking and praying didn't work out now, did it? It's not my fault that the three people I was stuck with were..."

Mercedes waves her hands airily, searching for the right word.

"pretenders, not contenders."

She nods.

"Amy, I don't know what more I need to do in order for you to get it through that Mohawk that I've always bested you. I'm running out of options. I retired you from one company. I made you tap out. I dropped you on your head with the Black Rose Overdrive. What is it going to take?"

With a sigh and a disapproving shake of her head, Mercedes looks up again at the camera.

"Look, Amy...”

A slight pause as she slightly looks down for a second before raising her head again.

"I'm sorry, OK? I'm sorry that you didn't get to go out there in front of the fans and that you didn't get your hand raised in victory last show. I'm sorry that you had a bad night and just weren't all there. I'm sorry that each passing day, your title reign as Bombshell Roulette Champion is just as irrelevant as Roxi Johnson's run with the Bombshell Championship. I'm sorry that you let down Goth, who deserves better. The man is the first, and so far only, triple crown winner in the history of Sin City Wrestling. But most of all? I'm sorry that you ended up on your back. Because that's the same thing is going to happen to you in two days. Can you find it in your heart of hearts to forgive me?"

She leans back in her seat and smiles before moving her hand over her face, which causes her facial expression to go from a smile to a serious.

"When you and I face off in less than forty-eight hours, January 5, Harrah's Laughlin Hotel & Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, Amy Marshall...

Mercedes holds up the title in front of the camera.

"You see this...this fake belt? Take a good look at it, Amy. What's more worse: That the real champion, i.e., ME is not actually holding the real thing, or that a title holder - that would be YOU - is holding on to the real championship?"

Mercedes looks back at the replica championship, feeling repulsed by it. It didn't even have a nameplate holder. A nameplate holder!

"Something for you to think about, I'm sure. I know I have. Because I know that what I made was a mistake. But mistakes can be corrected. And I will right wrongs this Sunday. And this Sunday, Amy, you will find yourself in the same place as you were two weeks ago in Las Vegas, Nevada, you will find yourself in the same place where I left you almost a year and a half ago in your final match in NCW, where I left you when you held the women's title and were defeated in a non-title, and where I left you when you lost that title some two months later and a month after I beat you the first time, and that is laying in the middle of the ring..."

Mercedes raises three 3 fingers one at a time as her voice lowers in a whisper.

"1-2-3."

"Hopefully, Joanne Canelli got some training in with Jasmine St. John so she won't look like a complete idiot out there, and hopefully she know how to count. As for you, Amy? Kiss that title for the last time, because after this, (she again looks at the replica belt), I will have the real thing, and SCW will have a real Bombshell Roulette Champion. Don't you worry, though. December to Dismember II was supposed to be history in the making. History wasn't denied, it was just delayed.

"This time, I will make history. Oh, but don't worry, you'll have your place too."

A pause is met as she adds a condescending smirk.

"As a footnote."

Mercedes reaches out to turn off the camera as our scene fades.

"So yeah, I guess I'll see you Sunday."
