« on: February 24, 2012, 10:14:22 PM »
Lucian Frost was a name no one knew off a few months ago, having never stepped foot inside an SCW or NWA ring, however a few months on and the unknown enigma seems to have gotten the attention of wrestlers and fans alike, claiming the Roulette Championship as well as many adversaries to go with being a champion. A battle royal to determine the next contender for the championship, three men tried to claim it for themselves and failed, Matthew Kennedy stepped up and failed, now it is the turn of Blaque Hart as he almost proclaimed the championship Frost holds today. Now it is up to the masked wrestler to defend it at the big supershow, Blaze of Glory, along with four other championship matches. Will Lucian Frost be able to retain the championship against his current foe, being one of few champions to successfully defend their title in the SCW, or will Frost’s reign end in a Blaze of Glory.

Chapter: 005
Title: Story behind the mask
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
Date: 6th June ? ? ? ?

Lucian’s quest to find a mask had been a long one, traveling from the United States to Mexico via the cheapest route; finally he had found the man who could help him get what he desired. A man named Emilio Riviera. Waking up one morning in the blistering Mexican heat, flies flying around his head, Lucian swats them away with his hand, readjusting himself on the fold up bed and reaches down for the bottle of water on the floor. Today would be Lucian’s first lesson in the art of professional wrestling, he had already been put through his paces with running in the heat, weight lifting amongst other gym apparatus’s but it would be today that he’d step into the ring for the first time with the local legend. Lucian gets up and places his temporary mask over his face, plain black with white rings around his eyes, he looked like a panda than a professional wrestler as the tights he’d been given where worn and the boots had seen better days.

When Lucian found out where Emilio’s was, it took him a good day to find his bearings and get to the right place, he never expected that the shop he’d been lead too also had a training area as well as a couple of rooms for people to stay. His room wasn’t luxurious nor comfortable, but it was a roof over his head and gave him time to train early mornings before Emilio woke, this morning however Lucian had overslept as he steps out of the room into the training area to see Emilio standing in the middle of the ring. His mask designed is shaped as a green dragon, his attire looking brand new being a bright green with orange emblems of dragons down each leg, his boots where an electric blue colour as he runs into the ropes a few times as he waits for Lucian to step up onto the apron and climbs into the ring.

“Today is the day you take one step forward towards your goal” Emilio says as he circles around Lucian. “You came to me in hope of becoming a wrestler and now you have the opportunity too do so” Lucian turns his head as far as he could to watch Emilio. “Today we will learn some basic removers but also incorporate some of the techniques you learnt during your training.”

Emilio stops in front of Lucian, taking a burst run at the turnbuckle, leaping onto the second rope and balancing carefully onto the top turnbuckle. Emilio then does an inch perfect moonsault to land on his feet. Emilio turns to face Lucian, who had now started to understand why he had been put through his paces with leaping onto the gymnastic horse amongst other things, the speed and agility in the lucha style will be gruelling but one he must endure to become a professional wrestler, to hide away from his true self.

“I don’t expect you to do that first time but I’d encourage you to try” He places his hand on Lucian’s shoulder. “Remember when you flip backwards that it’s your body’s instinct to land on your feet so allow it too”. Lucian nods his head in understanding, during some of the training Emilio had taught him how to do a standing backflip, it took him countless attempted until Lucian was able to do it without stumbling or landing on the back of his head.

Lucian composes himself as he looks at the turnbuckle, envisioning it in his mind a few times before taking the leap of faith, running with all his might and leaping up into the air. Emilio always taught him that you have to aim for the middle rope, never be too ambitious with leaps, however Lucian had been excelling over time with his leaping ability and he wanted to put theory into practice. Missing the middle rope completely and leaps up onto the top turnbuckle, trying to get his balance as he wobbles on the top rung, Lucian backflip onto the canvas dropping to one knee as he loses his balance. He turns to face his teacher who shakes his head slowly.

“I told you to aim for the middle rope” Emilio started to lecture him “but your jumping ability has been your forte and I commend you for it” He pats Lucian on the back “for a first effort that wasn’t bad but it could always be a fluke.” Emilio lets out a forced laugh. “ Again!”

It had been well over a month since the beginning of Lucian’s training, learning the basic moves that all wrestlers must learn, being taught different techniques from the Mexican wrestler that Lucian is incorporating into his own style of wrestling. It was at the stage where Lucian and Emilio would have wrestling matches in the ring, his first match ended badly for the young star as he was left in bed so sore and very much stiff, but the stiffness disappeared through time as the two would go toe to toe with each other. Emilio told his pupil that today would be a special day for him, the last time he had been told that by his tutor he had to wrestle several matches throughout the day in a cruel lesson for messing a manoeuvre up the previous day.

Getting up as normal to get ready for his day in the ring, shutting the door behind him to see the training area completely empty, Emilio wasn’t in the ring or near the old gym equipment perhaps he was running late. Lucian takes a short run up then slides into the ring, doing a few training regimes to supple the muscles up, taking a short burst and leaping up onto the top rope seamlessly before doing a moonsault and landing perfectly on his feet. Lucian could see the improvement over the past month in his abilities, putting the finished article in front of an audience and different competitors will be something completely different to him, however it would be a challenge he’d look forward too nonetheless as he waists upon his tutor to arrive.

Ten minutes pass and still nothing. Lucian climbs out of the ring and heads over towards the door leading into his shop, it was open slightly with the light switched on, Lucian steps inside to see his tutor standing inside holding a box. “You took your time” Emilio says as Lucian stands opposite him. “As I have told you, a persons mask is sacred and tells a story” Emilio starts to open the box up. “With all the wrestling families that have come from south America they wear the mask with honour, with pride, taking the mask off would be sacrilege and seen to have dishonoured there name and legacy.” He pulls the flaps of the box open and reaches inside. “You are not from one of those families, however you do have a story to tell and will hold the mask in great honour” Emilio pulls out what looks like wrestling tights out of the box, resembling nothing of a mask “I think it is time for you to see your story”

Emilio places the box to one side and hands the item to Lucian, he looks at it with great curiosity as he unfolds it to see that it was an all in one wrestling attire, the mask showing a white skull and the markings on his chest and legs showing different unique designs that seemed to suit the costume quiet nicely. Lucian takes off the old mask and the wrestling tights he has one and places the new ones on. Emilio hands Lucian a pair of gloves after he was in his new attire, looking at himself in the mirror seeing the wrestler he is about to become, the transformation was complete. He would no longer be Lucian, from now on he’d be known simply as Frost.

Title: Darkness shrouds the Ego
Location: Palms Casino and Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada
Date: 25th February 2012

It is a day before the big supershow for Sin City Wrestling, posters and flyers have been handed out to local businesses to promote the event, for the die hard fans it would be the chance to see five title defences as well as all the SCW roster in action for one special night. Inside the casino it was business as usual, customers gambling there hard earned cash, women looking to latch onto the nearest guy who holds all the chips, booze being dished out like there was no tomorrow. Inside these walls are the lifeless souls of a Las Vegas gambler. Frost appears from behind one of the slot machines and watches the roulette wheel being spun, the ball spinning in the opposite direction as the people around the table watch with great concentration and hope, Frost places his hands on the top plate of the Roulette Championship around his waist and leans up against the end fruit machine.

“People could call it the luck of the draw when it comes to the roulette wheel, but it isn’t always about luck, you cannot put everyone on luck in order to succeed or blame the luck when anything doesn’t go your way. It was the famous transcendentalist Ralph Waldo Emerson said that 'Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect'. I don’t believe in luck, my opponent put me winning the championship as being ‘Lucky’ but I think it was the fact that I put my all into winning this championship and he couldn’t grasp hold to that fact that he lost. Just like Matthew kennedy who thought he was wronged, I will have to show you that being lucky doesn’t make you a champion, that winning this belt and defending it successfully wasn’t a fluke, that the Blaque Hart will just be another man who thinks he deserves everything but will walk out with nothing but a broken ego.”

“You’re friend say that the promotion wouldn’t allow you to progress because of your age, age is but a mere number, it is about your ability in the ring and if you can prove that you are championship material. You don’t simply walk into a promotion and demand a heavyweight title match, you have got to earn that right, doesn’t matter if you’re a ‘legend’ or not, you don’t get things through asking or bitching on about it, you get things you deserve through the work you do in the ring and how you go about it. I won the Roulette Championship, not out of luck but through my work ethic, I defended this championship once and I will be looking to do so again, I know you came so close in becoming the champion but no one ever remembers the person who came second, it will always be the winner who’ll be remembered and just like the fatal fourway match for the championship, it will be me who’ll be remembered and not the Blaque Hart.”

“You say you’re a franchise, and icon, perhaps in your own little world you are but in the SCW you’re nothing but a wrestler who whines and loses. How can you be Sin City Wrestling’s franchise player when you’re not exactly promoting the SCW in main events, the fans don’t come to see you, they don’t chant your name, that they don’t remember your matches at all. You’re not a franchise, you’re not even an icon, Matthew Kennedy claimed to be primetime and he was going to cancel me but I’m not cancelled nor have I been dethroned.  Then again perhaps I am wrong, perhaps you are the Icon…but would an Icon of the Sin City Wrestling get the name of the Heavyweight Championship so wrong, calling it the SCW world title when it isn’t? no…that would be crazy of me. Especially since I am a joke of an opponent, a joke…me…a man who holds one of the championships in the SCW and looking to be one of it’s champions after Blaze of Glory. I think you find that the joke is you, Bruce, at least I don’t belittle the promotion in order to get up the proverbial ladder, I will do it the right way and that is by winning matches and defending this championship with honour and pride.”

“Our match is still unknown, whatever it will be is going to be something I’ll thrive at, I’ve already had a tables and hardcore match, no matter what is chosen I will do everything in my being to defend and walk out as the Roulette Champion. You may not care for me but maybe you should as it is I who holds the key for you to win this belt, if you don’t care for me then you’ll loose focus and let this opportunity slip, I don’t intend to let this opportunity slip, I want to be a successful champion and you’ll be nothing more than a franchise of a brand not worth watching or buying. You say I am the champion because I’m a sick son of a bitch, if I was sick I’m sure they wouldn’t risk me performing or being on the rostrum, especially since this sick person beat you for the belt. How does that sound, bruce, you got beaten by a sick guy…Bruce you said you’d face all the opponents they throw at you and one by one the roster will go, I’m sure that would be true as if you’re the best competition to offer then they’d laugh and walk out. I don’t need excuses nor do I proclaim to be something I am not, I will be the threat Bruce and the sooner you realise that then the sooner you can be taken seriously as a competitor.”

“Blaze of Glory is going to be first big show of two thousand and twelve, Roulette Championship defended for the first time at a big show, I’m not going to allow the promotion to have someone like Bruce Evans hold a championship like this. He’d destroy the division before it has already begun. I’m going to be the reigning and defending champion before the match and I’ll be the reigning and defending champion after it too.”

Frost walks over to the roulette table, many of the patrons look in utter dismay, Frost nods his head and walks over to the fruit machines and walks behind it. Security had been called and wonders over to the table, the roulette dealer points over to where frost walked, they walk over and around the machine to see that Frost has disappeared. They continue there search calling for the security guards to look at the CCTV but to no prevail. The mysterious enigma has disappeared once more but he won’t be disappearing before the big match, defending his championship in an unknown match once more, it will be something Frost will be looking forward too as it’s another chance to show the SCW why he is called, Champion.
