Cassie had signed a contract with Sin City Wrestling on the Friday before Summer XXXTreme and while the Aussie wrestler had signed with the company too late to make the Summer XXXTreme card she still made sure to be on the ship to announce her impending debut complete with an open challenge for Climax Control 401, a show that was emanating from Tokyo, Japan and the first stop on the Royal Pain tour.
So what was the problem? No one answered her challenge, she even tried to extend it to the following week’s Climax Control (emanating from Bangkok, Thailand) but her calls went ignored again prompting Cassie to call the Bombshell roster cowards in a frustration fuelled rant! Luckily for Cassie Mark, who was in charge of booking the tour for the first time in a while, stepped in and booked Cassie’s debut match and it was a big one as she was competing in the Proving Grounds Series and her match was against Prudence Pierce! While no one was clear on the end game of the Proving Grounds Series one thing was clear: the talent pool was getting stacked already! Kris Ryans and Eddie Lyons had already qualified for the men’s side by beating Felix Hernandez and Aiden Reynolds respectively relative newcomer Raine (who had debuted the week before in a losing effort to Andrea Hernandez) was the first qualifier for the women, defeating Mercedes Vargas and Diamond Steele in a Triple Threat Match that served as the opener for the Bangkok show and now Cassie and Prudence were opening the Belgium show, can Cassie win her debut match?

I swear they are doing this shit on purpose because I’m related to Krystal!
I may have just signed with SCW but I’ve been a fan long enough to notice a pattern when it comes to new signings like me, they sign, they announce it and the debut match gets scheduled as soon as possible! When I showed up at Summer XXXTreme it was to generate some hype, some speculation, to see if anyone on the roster would step up to face me in my debut match as part of an open challenge.
Instead? I got ignored.
Was it because of that whole reveal of the Entity’s true identity as Kevin “don’t you know who I am” Carter? Fuck if I know but I got frustrated as the wait went on, venting my frustrations in those Young Justice News Segments that you’ve seen on Climax Control the past two weeks, and well, you know what they say about the squeaky wheel getting the grease?
”God, I was starting to wonder if I would ever get my debut match!” I sighed in relief as I looked at the new card text, my first one as a member of the Bombshell Roster, I had seen Krystal receive those texts several times since I entered her life in late 2021 but it hits different when you get that card text yourself. ”Opening match, Proving Grounds Series, Prudence Pierce, this is better than anything my open challenge could’ve given me!”
My train of thought was interrupted when I got a call on my phone and I checked it, it was Makayla, Krystal’s wife, calling me over Facetime and I answered. ”Hey Cass! Krystal just saw the new card and they got around to your debut!” Makayla commented after I answered the call and I grinned. ”And here I thought Krystal waiting a week was ridiculous.”
”Didn’t she sign her contract the day of a Climax Control card? Or am I misremembering?” I asked before shaking my head. ”I’m a bit out f the loop but isn’t Krystal on the injured list right now?”
”Yes and no, she asked for some time off after Summer XXXTreme to tend to some nagging injuries, nothing related to that one time she checked herself out of hospital but she’s taking an extended leave to recharge her batteries.” Makayla explained and I nodded as I got he idea. ”She’s keeping it off social media in the meantime, anyway, I can’t help but find it funny how your first match is with Prudence Pierce what with the history she has with Krystal.”
”Not to get all conspiracy theory on us but I do wonder if that was in the back of Mark’s mind when he booked the card.” I commented as I let out a deep breath. ”No one’s really sure what this Proving Grounds Series is about but after what Raine did to Diamond and Mercedes in tonight’s opener it’s safe to say that people are taking these matches seriously.”
”Just watch what you say on Twitter regarding those rants, Mark will probably frame it as you throwing a hissy fit.” Makayla commented and I rolled my eyes so damn hard that I probably could’ve seen the back of my head. ”I’m just saying!”
”And I’m just saying that I waited four damn weeks for someone to step up and accept and I’ve earned the right to vent my frustration!” I responded with a frown as I shook my head. ”Meanwhile this Raine chick gets two back to back matches just because she’s also new! She’s already qualified for the series by beating Mercedes and Diamond tonight and I can’t wait to beat her when I’m done with Diamond.”
”Just don’t let your anger consume you along the way Cass, you saw what it did it Krystal first hand.” Makayla advised me and I nodded knowing that she had a point. ”Anyway, isn’t Thailand about thirteen hours ahead of the Us?”
”Not sure how broadcasting works in regards to timezones and shit but yep.” I nodded in response as I leaned back in my chair. ”I’m flying back to the states tomorrow to rest up and start training at Hero Academy for my debut, I’m sure Keira will have a few things to say, assuming she’s even in since she just gave birth and all.”
”I haven’t spoken to her since I texted her congrats on the baby but based on my experience from when I gave birth to my twins last May? I’d say she’s still recovering.” Makayla responded after thinking for a minute and I nodded, realizing that she was right. ”Hell I doubt she’d be up for much traveling in general , her recovery time probably won’t be as long as mine since I gave birth to two babies instead of one but you’ll probably be at least two cycles into your SCW career by the time you see her on the road again.”
”So in other words, it’s vid chats or bust, if I can’t call her before I check out tomorrow I’ll try to call her once I’m back stateside.” I commented with a shrug and Makayla nodded. ”Like I said, she’ll have a few things to say, anything else Makayla?”
”Don’t think so but it was great chatting with you all the same Cass.” Makayla nodded as she went to end the call. ”Good night.”
”Good night.” I responded before ending the call.

It has been a while since I was in a Sin City Wrestling ring, hasn’t it?
Not since I humiliated Krystal in one of her public workouts as the DTU Kid in Tucson, Arizona! Admittedly the choice to wear a hoodie in Arizona in June was definitely not a smart one but I had to cover most of my body, Krystal’s seen my arm tattoos enough times to be able to recognize me from them.
Aside from that? I mostly showed up to Sin City Wrestling shows whenever they were hosted in Reno, Nevada because that’s where I moved with my girlfriends after I finally decided to try to get a place of my own, between my other wrestling commitments and that whole attack that kickstarted the “Krystal’s a bitch” saga in Sin City Wrestling leaving a bad taste in my mouth I was reluctant to sign up with the company for the longest time.
Then again, considering how long I’ve waited for my debut maybe I was right to be reluctant.
I’ve been back in the states since yesterday but I was too jet lagged from the flight to do anything productive yesterday but now that I’m rested up I can get ready for my overdue debut match.
”Just gotta get to Mohg and I can start the DLC.” I muttered to myself as I played Elden Ring on my gaming pc, plan was to train with Harp at Jessie’s home gym a bit later and training at Hero Academy for most of the week, anyway I was just about to strike the final blow on the boss when I got interrupted by a video call, costing me the run in the process. ”GOD DAMN UR! This had better be good!” I muttered to myself before exiting out of the game and seeing that it was Keira.
I tried to set aside my frustration as best I could before answering. “Hey Cassie! I’m not interrupting anything am I?” Keira greeted me and I sighed, it was as Makayla speculated, Keira was still recovering from her pregnancy and wasn’t up for traveling anywhere today, or for a while for that matter, I guess I won’t have to worry about that because I’m a lesbian and all but then again so is Makayla and she was able to find a way around it. “Tried calling you earlier but Becky said you were asleep.”
”I slept in, was still tired from that long ass flight from Thailand and all.” I commented as I shook my head and Keira nodded in understanding. ”Anyway, I suppose you have a few things to say about what I’ve been up too since I signed with SCW.”
“You mean your failed open challenges I told you to have patience Cass and now you’ve annoyed the bosses before you’ve even had your debut match.” Keira responded with a frown and I rolled my eyes. “That’s not a good look for a debuting bombshell!”
”And waiting four weeks for my debut match is?! I already knew about the post Supercard week off thanks to Charlotte but that Raine chick got two matches before I even got a chance to strut my stuff, all because the Bombshell roster is too cowardly to accept the open challenge of the newest bombshell on the block.” I responded and Keira’s frown deepened. ”And don’t start on the comments I made at Climax Control because you saw how bottling up frustration affected Charlotte.”
“Cassie, I’d be here all week talking about the fact that you called some of the toughest women wrestlers around cowards for not accepting your challenge and we both know that you’d rather worry about the match against Prudence.” Keira responded as she shook her head and I sighed. “You’re a new member of the roster, ideally you want to make a good first impression.”
”Maybe if they had actually let me make a good first impression by answering my challenge I wouldn’t have called them out like that!” I responded as I rolled my eyes, ”Speaking off, my debut is against Prudence, the history between her and Charlotte is so notorious that I’d bet good money that it was at the back of Mark’s mind when he made this match.”
“You’d probably win that bet, that man doesn’t forget things easily, especially when it’s related to the promotion he co-owns” Keira responded with a nod as she leaned back. “The Steeles in general seem to be in a slump lately, just look at Diamond’s performance in that Triple Threat against Raine and Mercedes and…………”
”Should’ve been me instead of Raine.” I muttered under my breath and Keira raised an eyebrow. ”What? I’m just saying!”
“Anyway, Prudence’s match against Julianna from last week’s show, if I were you I’d be taking advantage of that.” Keira advised me and I shook my head. “And lose the damn attitude already!”
”Oh give me a damn break! No one in recent times had to wait as long as me for their debut match and the only excuse they could give was the challenge I issued I wasn’t aware the bosses were beholden to such challenges!” I responded as I rolled my eyes and Keira frowned. ”I was right to call them out on their crap, not my fault the bosses have fragile egos and don’t like their plans being questioned or changed!”
“They are also signing your paycheques now that you’re on their roster, remember that.” Keira responded as she shook her head. “Least we remember what happened to Adrienne.”
”The French Bombshell who left for her mental health, how is that comparable?” I asked as I threw my hands up. ”All she did was step up to Amber after winning her debut after being repeatedly told no.”
“And she didn’t even make it to her first year anniversary as a Bombshell, keep that in mind.” Keira responded and I leaned back in my chair. “I have to get going but remember Cass, we all want you to succeed, try to move past this rough start, it’ll be a few weeks at least before I’m back at Hero Academy but the facilities are still open.”
”Yeah, I’ll try and trust me, I will be taking advantage.” I sighed before Keira ended the call and I went back to my game.

As I got ready for my first promo as an SCW Bombshell I definitely had a lot on my mind heading into this proving grounds match.
”Well folks, the powers that be have finally listened and I’m set to make my debut for Sin City Wrestling this Sunday in Belgium, if I still did weed I’d be all over the chocolate but I gave that stuff up a while ago, mostly because I realized that being a world trotting wrestler and a stoner weren’t exactly cohesive to each other because of how certain countries view the stuff.” I admitted after making myself comfortable. ”But enough about that and let me just say that it’s about damn time! The bosses can TRY to frame it as a temper tantrum all they want but those four weeks were like an eternity for me!
Funny how my first opponent has a lot of history with a certain half-sister of mine, isn’t it?”
Yep.
”If there’s one family that’s pretty infamous in SCW, it’s definitely the Steeles/Warrens, they’ve been around forever and always find new ways to stir up shit.” I added as I flipped some hair over my shoulder. ”Prudence may be going by the surname Pierce these days after her marriage to Courtney but let’s be real, everyone knows her better as Ruby Steele!
If I were my “moody cousin” as Mark likes to put it, I’d be saying shit like Prudence should’ve stayed injured, but I’m not Krystal, as much as some people want to make comparisons after the way I’ve acted since announcing my debut, frankly? I’m a much better person than Krystal!”
Sorry, not sorry.
”Do I have her short temper? Yeah, but aside from being related by blood I don’t have a lot in common with her, I’m half Italian on my mom’s side for one thing and my wrestling style is completely different.” I stated as I folded my arms. ”So Prudence, if you’re coming into this match expecting a Krystal clone with black hair, you’ve already lost, and my high flying will seal the deal.
I know high flying women are a dime a dozen in his business, but I can’t help it if that was the style I gravitated towards when I was training, and besides Prudence? I don’t think you’re ready for what I can bring to the table.”
Nope.
”My speed will put the other bombshells to shame, call me arrogant if you want but I can back it up in the ring, and as for you Prudence? I don’t know what this Proving Grounds Series is about but after seeing Diamond already fail, I have to ask.” I stated as I leaned back. ”How are your chances looking in this match? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the Steeles are in a slump and I’m sure you’re eager to prove me wrong on Sunday, which is fine and all.
But I don’t give a fuck! Because I’m just as eager to get my first win in Sin City Wrestling and if that means beating a former Blast from the Past Winner to get there? So be it! It’s not like anyone remembers your win anyway outside of the lucky break Mark Cross got!”
I said it!
”I mean, let’s be honest. It’s been four years since the pandemic era and you haven’t been able to match your early success, now I don’t know about you but I’d rather forget the era that I mostly spent bored at home under lockdown but the evidence since then isn’t pretty, eh Prudence?” I asked as I brushed some hair over my shoulder. ”I’m no longer a rookie wrestler, I’ve been wrestling for two years now and I turned twenty one back in July, but losing to someone like me in her debut?
How the mighty have fallen!”
It’s that simple.
”After waiting four whole weeks for my debut you’d better believe that I’m giving this match my all! This may be the opener but trust me folks, I’m treating this like it’s a Main Event!” I stated as I flipped some hair over my shoulder. ”What awaits us at the end of the rainbow known as the Proving Grounds Series? Who knows but a wins a win and I’m not throwing away this shot!”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
”Harper may have been the first Hero Academy graduate to sign with SCW but I’m the first Hero Academy graduate PERIOD! And when we clash on Sunday Prudence I will be putting my training at the hands of Team Hero to good use!” I added as I leaned forward. ”So be ready for a fight Prudence! To all my fans? In a world of fake queens and overdue debuts? Be yourselves and be a Rebel Princess! And to Ruby? Get ready because I’m Hungry Like the Wolfe!”
The camera panned out as the scene fades.
