“HELP!”
« on: February 22, 2019, 08:59:43 PM »
Caleb would end up losing the Triple Threat Match after Alex pinned Joshua but by no means did that mean an easy week for Caleb this week as he was going one on one with the undefeated Fenris, the two men had met before in the previous year’s Blast from the Past Tournament where Caleb and Sam Marlowe were knocked out in the second round and now, a year later, they were meeting in singles competition, Caleb’s reaction to this news was basically “oh shit, I don’t have any MMA training” and subsequently going to Twitter in search of anyone who could give him a crash course, alas his efforts seem to be in vain but can Caleb win?

You ever look at a match and wonder who the fuck you pissed off this week? Yeah, that was me after I saw this week’s card!

After Joshua took the pin in last week’s Triple Threat Match, I thought that was it for me and the World Title for the time being, I mean it wasn’t as if I was going to be booked against Fenris the following week was it? And then the bosses went and did just that, I can’t help but wonder if this is long overdue payback for my attempts to screw with their plans this past summer and if it is, then they need to learn how to let go off a grudge.

As if we didn’t know that much already, given everything Christian has put Seleana through since she broke his nose right before the holidays!

But in any case, I’m pretty much screwed! I don’t have any MMA training, I know how to do a Kimura Lock, but I learned that from watching tapes from older SCW shows and teaching myself the move, granted finding people who were willing to be put in such a dangerous hold was tough, but I managed it in the end.

And I’m facing Fenris, a guy who competed in MMA before transitioning to wrestling, who has been undefeated for a little under a year now, there’s only so many ways I can say “oh my god, this is gonna suck” until you are sick of hearing those words come out of my mouth!

In short, I’m not sure if I can win this one!

“Come on Caleb, your doing great!” Katie called out to me from ringside as I practiced in the ring, after my plea for help from Twitter got one response from Fenris I took matters into my own hands and looked up a local MMA Trainer in Long Beach, off course a week long training session isn’t nearly enough to fully prepare me for this match but it’s not like I knew in advance that I was going to be facing Fenris, Katie turned to another trainee as me and the coach changed positions. “Look, I’ve never watched MMA before so from a trainee’s perspective, how is he doing?”

“Considering he literally started on Monday, he’s progressing quickly.” The trainee responded as me and the coach exchanged holds. “Why did your husband sign up for this again?”

“He’s a wrestler, the guy he’s facing in his next match is a former MMA guy.” Katie explained and the trainee nodded once he got the picture. “Before this week, the only MMA hold he knew is the Kimura and he taught himself that from watching wrestling tapes.”

“Well, if his opponent is a former MMA guy, then yeah, he’s going to need all the help he can get and then some.” The trainee responded before me and the coach finished, I could feel my joints aching from the numerous positions I had been twisted into, but I have learned a lot, whether this will be enough to allow me to survive Fenris is another question. “Who was his opponent before he transitioned to wrestling?”

“He’s an Icelandic guy who goes by the name Fenris.” Katie explained before getting her phone out and accessing the SCW Roster page. “I’m not even going to try to pronounce his name but here’s his real name and MMA record.” Katie added before showing him the profile and the trainee winced. “Heard of him?”

“Let’s just say that if your husband wanted a chance in hell, he would’ve started last week.” The trainee responded just as I walked over to them. “No offense man but maybe you should call in sick,”

“Tried that on Monday, bosses didn’t buy it because I had wrestled the previous night and didn’t show any signs of being ill.” I responded as I shook my head before taking a swig from my water bottle. “And I do appreciate the help, don’t get me wrong but I’m going to need all the help I can get if I’m going to survive this match!” I added before shaking my head. “At least it’s not a Lion’s Den Match.” I added before seeing the confused look on the trainee’s face. “Wrestling Match but in an Octagon Style Cage, SCW’s done a few of them over the years.”

“Ahh, yeah, I gotcha.” The trainee nodded once he got the idea before he entered the ring for his turn with the coach, I was told to take five, so I went over to a bench and sat down whilst watching the action, after taking another sip from my water bottle, I realized that this was a good time to do my promo.

“What can I say about my match against Fenris this Sunday on Climax Control? A few things, like: oh god, what did I do to deserve this? Or: I don’t remember taking a massive shit in Mark Ward’s coffee this morning and most importantly: HELP! This Sunday I’m going to get my ass kicked by Fenris for one simple reason: I’ve got no MMA Training, I know one move from MMA, and I taught myself that move! Basically, I’m screwed!”

I may as well write my last will and testament!

“We last met last year in the Blast from the Past Tournament, difference is? Back then you were just another rookie in a sea of rookies who had signed up for SCW in the wake of its reopening and no one knew how dangerous you were yet, fast forward a year later and I’m shitting myself worse than when I encountered the twin Mr. Xs glitch in the Resident Evil 2 Remake after seeing it on Twitter and that’s just at the mere thought of facing you Fenris!”

Seriously, who did I piss off?!

“Am I going to give it everything I’ve got? Yes, is it going to be fun for me? Hell no! in fact I think a root canal would be preferable to this match and a lot less painful for me! I’m not even sure if I can win this match against your Fenris but I’ll be damned if I don’t go down swinging!”

I’m probably damned anyway!

“There’s only two ways I can win this: one: Fenris slips up and I get a surprise roll up, two: Senor Vinnie decides to cash in mid-match, and I roll up Fenris whilst he’s distracted trying to fight Fenris, otherwise? The only scenario I can imagine is me either getting my soul kicked out of my body or getting twisted into a pretzel, either way, this match is not ending well for me and that’s if I manage to avoid pissing off Fenris which is not easy to do either!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“This week, I may as well be facing the Grim Reaper, that’s how bad my chances are in this match! Fenris is a hell of a talent but without the MMA training that he has, I’m up shit creek without a paddle and that’s before the bell rings! That said, maybe I’ll get lucky and Fenris won’t brace himself because there’s a storm brewing and he’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms, otherwise? May god have mercy on my soul!”

I returned to the ringside area as the scene fades.
