Kain and Mercedes Vargas: World Mixed Tag Team Champions.
It has a nice ring to it, you know? It's sweetest knowing the grueling training and preparation it took to obtain the victory was worth it because no match in SCW is a night off, certainly not against London Underground. Certainly not against a stable that went through the male and female tag division like a hot knife through butter while they carried the World and Bombshell Tag Titles. Granted, there was the time SCW went on hiatus too, but I don't think that would have made much difference.
No team could beat them.
No team could prepare for them.
No team stood a chance against them.
Until now.
Daniel and Charlotte went to war against myself and Kain and the four of us put on a match that could have main-evented anywhere in the world. London Underground saved their best defense for last, but their best effort wasn't enough because on that night, the best team won. The best team did what no other team thought was impossible. Kain and I handed London Underground their first loss as a stable, and I pinned Charlotte for her first loss in the company.
It wasn't easy, but it was worth it. Osborne and Mackenzie provided moral support, they also tried to turn the match in their stablemates favor, but it's amazing what determination will do. Kain and I fought against all odds because it sure as hell didn't favor us. But there's no rest for the weary. We have another match to get ready for against a mystery team we don't even know. It's one of those difficult matches to prepare for when you don't know who it could be.
Maybe anyone else would be intimidated, but you're talking about world class athletes who have seen it all and done it all. So Christian and Mark want to keep their reveal close to the vest? No problem. London Underground had the Freebird Rule in their wheelhouse, it didn't matter. Whatever team SCW want to throw at us I'm sure we're more than capable of taking them down.
They probably know what we've done, what we can do, but they don't know what we will do.
So maybe this mystery team don't understand. We're not in the ring with them....
they're in the ring with us.

The Excuse or the Reason: Endeavor

So, Mercedes, the world wants to know: how does it feel to be champion?
Feels great, and kinda heavy.
Ricardo steps back, cracking a smile at Mercedes take on her monumental win. They're in her trophy room. Mercedes pretends to fall over from carrying her newly won title that's over her shoulder. She passes it to Ricardo who whistles at the craftsmanship before handing the title to Thomas who nods in appreciation. Irma actually tries the title on for size as Ricardo comes over to fastens it around her waist.
Irma: Now you see why you didn't need to pack all these clothes to go on the cruise? This had to weigh a ton.
Tomas: Do you know how much that belt weighs?
Mercedes: Not necessarily, but when I find out, you'll be the first to know. I think I had a pretty good night.
Irma: We all did. How can any of us repay you?
Mercedes: Don't. I'm well off as it is. Besides, that you got to see me wrestle for the first time is payment enough. It's not everyday I don't always get an opportunity to make history, but when I did, it's usually in style.
Thomas and Irma, who sets the tag title over an arm chair both stare at a gallery of other championships Mercedes accumulated over the years, housed in a display case.

"Some things are better left unsaid, but you can bet I'm going to say it anyway. I can't help being who I am."
Mercedes walks away from the fairgrounds here at Santa Monica Pier and the camera tracks her now walking along the pier. There's a low tide on the beach west of here as we see several tourist spending a lazy afternoon.
"So, I don't know who Kain and I will be facing this weekend at Climax Control. It could be one of the established teams in the division, it could be a new team, it could even be someone who had never been in SCW before, but I think I know where Christian and Mark is getting at. Kain and I, we're the tag team champions. They want us to be razor sharp, they want us to be ready, they want us to be pushed, to be at our absolute best against anyone and everyone who wants a shot at our titles.
"What do I have to say to that? Come one, come all."
Mercedes stops to open her arms wide in challenge, now facing directly at the camera. Her World Mixed Tag Team Championship glistening in the sunlight as she raises it at camera-level.
"We're going to prove to every tag team in the back why we are the best of the best. There's a reason why Kain has gone on to have the career that he has. There's a reason why I am the most decorated wrestler in SCW history. On our own, we've set the bar. Together, you can't stop us."
Mercedes brushes away a few strands of her hair from her eyes with her free hand then places her championship over her shoulder.
"All week, it's been mystery this, mystery that. Well, you can call Sherlock Holmes, Inspector Gadget, the Scooby Gang. It doesn't matter. We don't need to know who will be facing us, we don't care. We're ready for them. The question is are they ready for us.[/i]
