Being proactive is something that's been drilled in to me and Kenz from the early days of being around Daniel. Don't put something off till tomorrow that you can do today cause ya ain't sure how many tomorrow's you have left. In today's world, it makes sense, but back when we first heard it, we thought it was rubbish, we thought we was immortal, but the older you get, the more you see nothing last forever, so Daniel was right. Don't do anything you can do today, and put it off and off and off, get it out of the way while you can. This brings us to two people, who thought they we're gonna have to bide their time to get what they wanted but why wait? Let's start of this one sorta the way Amy Marshall would, without splicing in some video stuff of what happened on the last show, because something not drilled in to Amy's head was, we've already seen it, and if we wanted to watch a repeat, we'd hit SCW on demand and watch it, but we are gonna go back to last weeks show for some off the camera stuff, a trick Amy has mastered here in her time in SCW, can't wait to see it again in your next promo Amy....
Last Sunday, Climax Control was more than in full flow. Matches had been won and lost, people were already set to moan and complain on social media, and of course, consider their future like the broken record that they are, but some people were interested what was going on in the ring at this time without a thought about what to complain about next, what excuse was gonna be used to dig at your paymasters, some were interested in what was going on, those people, London Underground.
Mackenzie Page and Charlotte Elliot's eyes were focused on the monitor in front of them, barely noticing Daniel J Morgan and Osbourne approaching them, Osbourne cracking his knuckles as Daniel straightened his tie. They were engrossed in what they saw before them, a little ring promo by Amy Marshall and Jessie Salco, The Metal N Punk Connection. It's was rare you saw these two in the ring talking, I guess between having weird people offer to pay for your honeymoon, and listening to people who feel singing is screaming, you don't have a lot of time to be in the ring, but this rarity was happening now.
Mackenzie lowers her eyebrows as she listens to Amy rehash last weeks victory over the Angel Clan, another classic Amy move to lead with what she'd done. Indeed, they had defeated The Angel Clan, yes they hadn't had their shot at the Bombshell Tag Team championships, good memories, but a line seems to grab Charlotte's attention.
"The perfect time to face us?" Charlotte says with a slight smile forming on her lips. "There is never a perfect time to face us. What has she been smoking?"
"Judging by her past..." Mackenzie starts "Cock."
Daniel looks towards the stone faced Osbourne, who slowly shakes his head at the young woman's comment, but looks back at the screen as Amy mentions churning out win after win.
"Shit...." Mackenzie comments. "I musta been asleep when they was churning out win after win cause I don't remember that shit. I don't remember them beating The Fallen, or someone like that. I remember us doing that a couple of times, but these two?"
"Know the feeling cause I don't remember that." Charlotte says calmly. "I also don't remember sitting on my arse all the time. I remember showing up here even when we wasn't booked. I remember being on more shows and doing more things than Amy Marshall in the time we've been here. I remember being involved in more of the show than she has in my time being here, but seeing them win a lot? Meh, not so much."
The four continue to watch, all sharing a smile when they hear the term foreign invaders.
"Ah yes." Charlotte says with a grin. "We invaded, but we conquered and they couldn't do a thing to stop us."
"I'd see it as us liberating a pair of divisions that went stale on their watch." Daniel adds to the conversation. "Maybe she has a bit of an issue with a breath of fresh air."
Again, they continue to watch the screen as Amy hands the microphone to Jessie.
"That was it?" Mackenzie says with surprise. "Like that's all she really has to say on things? That's quicker than a two pump chump. All the hype and over in seconds."
They four watch as Jessie starts to speak, the group raising a smile as Jessie comments about being overdue a title run.
"Ok, hands up, who expected Jessie Salco, the woman who would whore herself out just to have a championship belt, thinking that she's overdue a championship run?" Charlotte asks the group.
It doesn't take long before all four hands raise in the air.
"That woman would go for an old belt to hold up ya jeans if it had the word championship written on it." Mackenzie says firmly "We hadn't been here as long as most, but we learned quickly that some things were as certain as death and taxes, and that would be Jessie Salco mentioning a championship belt and how she should have one, on every SCW show."
Daniel rubs his chin as he looks at the screen.
"She seems very entitled." He says with a slight tilt of his head. "It's like she feels she's owed a championship belt, regardless of her record. No one should feel entitled to a thing in this world but she seems like she feels that she should be given it. I fail to see what she would add to being a champion at any level."
A nod of agreement seems to come from the two women as Osbourne stares at the screen. The four listen as Jessie talks for what seems like a whole minute, but realistically, was probably about fifteen seconds and look at each other.
"Five years?" Charlotte says slightly surprised "Five years as a team, here to stay, yet isn't this the woman that's gone for more single titles, demanded more single title shots that any other woman here?"
"Does seem disrespectful to her partner." Daniel muses "And would explain their lack of title runs and why the divisions were in a right state when we showed up. Five years with no commitment to the cause speaks volumes."
"Well fuck them if they think that we're gonna let them have hope in to the new year." Mackenzie blurts out.
The group look towards her, unsure of what she means.
"Be proactive, right Daniel?" She adds.
Daniel nods towards her, still slightly unsure of what she means, but lays his palm out in front of him.
"We'll be back." Mackenzie tells him. "Feel free to wander around, this shouldn't take too long."
Mackenzie taps Charlotte on the arm and jerks her head to the right, indicating for her to follow her as Daniel looks towards Osbourne. The camera follows Mackenzie and Charlotte down the hall, as Charlotte looks towards her tag team partner.
"Care to share?" Charlotte asks curiously.
Mackenzie looks back at Charlotte as the two walk.
"I was thinking..." She replies. "Why let them sit there and hope and build themselves up, while thinking we're the complacent two, when we can sit off a card for a couple of weeks, pull them in to the ring next week, when apparently it's their perfect time to beat us and kick the ever living shit out of them and send them a message that we're not some fly by night team, and their five years as a team means shit?"
A smile crosses Charlotte's face as she looks across at Mackenzie. The two stopping outside the door with the name of both Christian Underwood and Hot Stuff Mark Ward written on it.
"I can see where ya going with this." Charlotte says calmly as Mackenzie knocks on the door.
"Come in." The voice of Christian is heard saying behind the door.
Charlotte reaches for the door handle and pushes it down, walking in to the room, followed by Mackenzie. Hot Stuff looks up from his desk as Christian stares at the two.
"Yes?" Christian asks bluntly.
"Mr Underwood." Charlotte asks "I'd like to make a request."
Christian looks across the table at the two women standing in front of him.
"What is it with you London Underground people?" Christian asks. "First the two men come in here a while ago asking for two people to be added to a match and refusing a stipulation, and now you two come in here wanting something?"
Mackenzie clinches her fist, her teeth gritted and her short temper getting shorter by the second, Hot Stuff picks up on her body language.
"I'll give ya fifty bucks to punch him in the face." Hot Stuff says with a chuckle.
"I've hit people for less." Mackenzie responds, her eyes on Christian as she speaks.
Charlotte puts her hand on Mackenzie's shoulder and continues with Christian.
"Look, we're not here to cause waves, we know you've got your hands full with Griffin Hawkins, but what we want is something that works for us both." Charlotte explains. "We heard Amy Marshall and Jessie Salco out in that ring, chattering away like little chipmunks, telling people what they did last week, as if people can forget and saying this would be the perfect time for them to face us. We want to give them that chance not at a supercard, but next week."
"This would change some supercard plans." Hot Stuff adds thoughtfully.
"Actually, once we breeze through these two." Mackenzie says firmly "And we will, we will be calling out someone much bigger than these two."
"Have you seen our Bombshell Tag Team roster?" Christian adds "These two are number one contenders because they are the biggest challengers we have."
"Rumour has it, so Twitter leads Daniel to believe, that a certain bombshell team are coming back next week." Charlotte says. "And we have every intention of offering supercard spots to Natalie McKinley and Lowri Moss."
Hot Stuff and Christian look towards each other.
"More chance of getting the pope at the Supercard than Lowri Moss." Hot Stuff says with a smile. "She's pretty popular, hard to book or we'd have signed her here a long time ago."
"I'll tell you what." Christian says, with a smile that only the Grinch could appreciate. "I'll let you take on Jessie and Amy next week, but if you fail to tempt Natalie and Lowri in to a supercard match, you'll be defending those titles against every single tag team in SCW."
Charlotte and Mackenzie look towards each other before looking back at Christian.
"If we fail to land the big fish." Mackenzie says with a smile back at Christian. "We'd happily defeat your entire tag team roster, just to prove our dominance right here."
"Thanks for your time." Charlotte adds.
Charlotte and Mackenzie nod towards the bosses before leaving the room, Hot Stuff looking towards Christian.
"Gotta love the steel balls these guys have." He tells Christian. "Not afraid of a challenge."
"Steel balls..." Christian starts. "Zero brains."
The cuts away to our next scene....
BANG BANG BANG!
Drumsticks smashing against stretched animal hide can be heard as someone to one side of the bar screams down a microphone.... You see where this is going...
You find our ladies on South Almaden Avenue, in San Jose, California, number ninety eight if you ever find yourself in that location, a dive bar called The Caravan Lounge, a place known for it's poor decor charm and unsurprisingly, heavy metal bands, the number one heavy metal bar in San Jose if you believe everything you read on Yelp.
The bang bang bang wasn't just a clever start, as a heavy metal band stand to one side of the room, pounding away on drums as a lead singer literary screams inaudible sounds down a microphone, somewhere close to the sounds any normal human being would make when their hand gets trapped in a car door, or when their foot's been run over by an eighteen wheeler. Yet the sounds of inaudible screaming doesn't seem to phase the sixty or so people gathered around them on a cold Wednesday night, who happily head bang along to the sounds of what most people would consider torture. Mackenzie Page and Charlotte Elliot sit by the bar, observing people moving their heads in time with the wailing guitars, the almost wild and uncoordinated bangs of the drums.
"I know I've said this a lot tonight." Mackenzie says to Charlotte, shouting over the music. "But what the fuck lady?"
Charlotte sips her drink through a straw, looking towards Mackenzie, before placing the drink down at the bar.
"I've said it a lot tonight Kenz." Charlotte starts "This is to see the obsession that these two people have with this kinda music. I use the term music lightly, very lightly, but I'm trying to figure out what goes on in their heads when they listen to this nonsense."
Mackenzie grits her teeth as she puts her hand around her drink and looks back towards Charlotte.
"Couldn't do it with a couple of knocked off CDs and a place that didn't stink like sweat and arse?" Mackenzie responds. "I mean come on, look at this shit hole, it's like Upton Park used to be but with more chance of someone scoring."
"I wouldn't say that." Charlotte replies "The chance of any of these overweight sweaty scruff bags is about on par as West Ham scoring these days."
Mackenzie picks up her drink and takes the straw out, leaving it on the bar, putting the glass to her lips and knocking it back in one.
"Here's the way I see it." Charlotte starts to explain. "These metal people are all one and the same. They all have very little else in their life, they live by routine and get a little scared when they have to break it. They sit there and listen to this heavy shit because they don't have to think about how lonely their life is, they don't have to sit there and think about how shitty their existence is, because they're trying to understand what some bloke is yelling at them."
"If you got it all figured out." Mackenzie says. "Why the fuck are we wasting our time here?"
Charlotte smiles towards Mackenzie, knowing how much she would always hate a place like this, but enjoying watching her squirm.
"To pick up on a few things, like insecurities." She says. "Take chubs over there."
Charlotte points to a man standing at the bar with long wild hair, standing on his own.
"What do you think he does?" Charlotte asks.
"Probably wanks off in a sock to midget porn in his mum's basement." Mackenzie throws back.
"And that scruff there?" Charlotte asks, pointing to a woman with matted hair, and a sour look on her face.
"Probably wishes people would whack one out to her." Mackenzie responds. "But dudes are put off by female armpit hair."
"And that couple?" Charlotte says pointing to a clearly overweight guy and a woman who looks like her best days are long behind her.
"I reckon they only got together cause he's fat and no one would want him, and she's too damn ugly to ever be with anyone else." Mackenzie says casually. "Took up the first offer she got to stop her from being alone."
"Can't argue that." Charlotte comments. "But my point is, they're full of faults, this music genre pulls out the dregs in society, because they're all the same, they're basically losers with no life, and they hide behind this music because they think it's scary, aggressive and makes them look tough. It makes people focus on the music aspect of their lives and keep them distracted from what the real problem is."
"The real problem with these people is they need a haircut and a bath." Mackenzie says holding her nose. "I've seen cleaner people in a homeless shelter."
"The looks is just a way to sell the music and distract people from the fact that they have no life and that they're a boil on the world's arse." Charlotte says firmly. "At heart they're all losers who hide behind screaming and this excuse for music."
Mackenzie sighs as she shouts over the music.
"What's your point here?" Mackenzie asks.
"All these people are Jessie Salco." Charlotte responds "She hides behind the music because she has nothing else to her life. She barks out about metal shit so much, people only see her as that, and not the person she is. If you take away the music, Jessie Salco ain't worth a damn, and this is why she will never get past the level she's at. I see beyond the music and I see nothing there ever worth worrying about."
"Focused a bit too much on Jessie here and forgetting Amy." Mackenzie says.
"Amy is easier to read." Charlotte replies. "She's in to punk, people who listen to punk want to be rebels, she's screwed that crap up right away cause she's about as rebellious as a nun. What you see with Amy is what you get, she's a fraud, flatters to deceive, no need to work out how that spiky little head of hers works. The mystery was why Jessie Salco defends this shit, that was the mystery."
"Mystery solved." Mackenzie responds "Now can we get the fuck out of here before I catch something from one of these bottom feeders?"
Charlotte quickly finishes her drink and puts it on the bar. She looks up and sees Mackenzie had no intention waiting for an answer as she is already halfway between the bar and the door. Charlotte moves to follow her as the camera cuts to an outside patio.
The Continental Bar Lounge & Patio, literary a seven minute walk away from the Caravan Lounge, on South 1st Street, in San Jose, the two ladies of London Underground sit outside the much more exclusive and much more beautifully decorated bar, the two ladies with cocktails in front of them. The camera is set up in front of them.
"Now this is much better." Mackenzie says as she puts her fingers around the glass. "Better than that cheap booze in a dirty run down place like stank like someone's got a pig fucking pet."
Charlotte nods in agreement.
"A place like this, we can think and get time to talk about Jessie Salco and Amy Marshall." Charlotte adds.
"I wanna talk about Amy first." Mackenzie says. "I have a question for Amy."
Charlotte puts her hand out, allowing Mackenzie to continue.
"How the fuck have you got as far as you have done on seriously no wrestling talent?" Mackenzie asks. "I mean you could probably call yourself a meat flute master and some people will give you a thumbs up but wrestling? Nah, not buying that one. How the fuck did you win every title here when I'm seen more talent in a ten minute old baby? Seriously, you have got to be the worst person I've ever known to end up in a Hall of Fame. You've somehow managed to get yourself to be in a place few have been, and you've literally done in on zero talent, piss poor promo skills, and been stuck to a selfish tart like Jessie Salco for five years. Some would call that the underdog story of the century, but it seriously baffles the fuck out of me. When people think of Amy Marshall, they think of retelling the story of the week before by showing the ending of your matches to start your promos, so I'm either expecting to see you two show the end of you talking, or how you beat The Angel Clan to open your promo. That's what they think of Amy, that's and how many choppers you've had at the same time. They don't think of your wrestling skills, so how have you got so far on so little talent and uncreative?"
Charlotte nods in firm agreement.
"I wanna ask what kinda person agrees to let her friend pay partly towards a honeymoon." Charlotte asks. "You can tell a lot about someone by the people they hang around with, and to accept money from a friend to help pay for your day, seems like six year old milk, very off. To jump at that charity from Acquin is weird, just buy a damn toaster like normal people Acquin, and just accept a toaster Amy because this shows that you're not all there in the head, just by the people you hang around with."
Charlotte reaches for her glass, lifting it from the table.
"I like wrestling those people not all there in the head." Mackenzie adds "Cause I can pick them apart with ease and Amy is gonna be no exception. The woman clearly thinks she's so much better than she fucking is because she lucked out a few times. Well your luck ends here Amy, it stops right now because there's more chance of you packing up and becoming a nun then you have of getting these titles from us. It's just not in your future to take our gold. It shouldn't be in your future to take any gold. When you look at the roster, you're not near the top of the talent table, you're near the bottom Amy and if it takes us to stamp on your nut a few times to get that through to you, I'm more than happy to do that for you."
A determined, serious look crosses Mackenzie's face.
"She's not lying Amy." Charlotte says "I think the whole of SCW is sick of how delusional you are. Let me tell you something, Hall of Famers should stay retired, not retire to get in the Hall of Fame and come back. That should be a career ender, and looking at how you use your achievements to stay relevant, I wouldn't be shocked at all if you didn't retire, just to get in to the Hall of Fame. Problem is most people who do break that golden return rule, usually do well, you've just reverted back to normal, just a low card delusional slapper that lives on the past. Well, welcome to the present Amy, when we're done with you and Kenz here stamps on your head, it's gonna give you a great look in to the future too to see that that's none too rosey for you either."
"Might wanna delay Acquin paying for your wedding shit cause this will knock some fucking sense in to ya." Mackenzie adds.
Before the two can continue, a man walks towards them, stopping at the table.
"Can I buy you two ladies a drink?" He says, very forward and to the point.
"Piss off!" Mackenzie snaps back, just as forward and to the point.
"Better listen mush." Charlotte says. "Before you really do become part of that stupid genderless talk because your manhood may become detached from you."
The man looks shocked, but backs off, and Charlotte turns towards the camera.
"There's something that's never happened to Jessie Salco." Charlotte comments. "Being approached by a sober man."
Mackenzie smiles as she looks at Charlotte.
"Always did wonder how she ended up married." Mackenzie questions.
"I just presume if you head bang with someone for more than twenty seconds, it counts as marriage in heavy metal circles." Charlotte responds.
"Surprised she finds the time, what with all that talking about titles instead." Mackenzie adds. "Speaking of which..."
Mackenzie looks towards the camera.
"Why Jessie, why?" Mackenzie asks. "Why do you sit there and constantly beg for title shots when you don't beat the bigger people? Why should you get a title shot at any belt over Mikah, or Mercedes, or Crystal or anyone else on the roster that you know, actually wins a match? Everyone is so fucking bored of hearing you moan and bitch about getting a title shot at any belt, like you're entitled to it, when you've beat a couple of lower down people and that about it. Jessie, you need to stop the bullshit and see you're not good enough for any kinda title shot, you need to see that you're barely good enough to be a wrestler. The cold hard truth is no one actually cares about you anymore."
"It's true Jessie." Charlotte adds "I mean you've become as predictable as Amy. As much as we know she's gonna splice in past events, we know you're gonna play some god awful music from a band no one's ever heard of. We've only been here a short time compared to you but even we know you need the fans to either love or hate you to get ahead in this game."
Mackenzie holds up a finger.
"Or kissing up to a boss for a few years to get yourself better card positions." Mackenzie comments.
"That too." Charlotte agrees "But when it comes to Jessie, people just can't be arsed with ya. Like seriously, if they could fit in a piss break during your promos, or stuff you talk about on the show, they would, but it's hard to have a piss break when there's only thirty seconds of your stuff, and twenty seconds of that is bad music. You've actually become obsolete Jessie and SCW would make far more money using the time they give you to talk, to run a commercial."
"But Jessie, we'll put the final nail in your coffin on Sunday when we save the people from having to listen to you about titles."
"We will stop you from being the female James Tuscini." Charlotte adds "Cause all that greasy part human being does is talk about titles."
Mackenzie nods at Charlotte with approval.
"Because we will take your little team Jessie and show you that five years of hard work has been five years of nothing but hot air." Mackenzie says firmly. "Your hopes and dreams of ending the year as a champion Jessie disappears on Sunday when we take you completely off the radar of SCW fans all over the world, not that you was on the radar much to start anyway, but after Sunday, the days of Jessie Salco goes the way of the dodo and becomes extinct."
"It will be time for a new career Jessie because you will never hit the heights that you think you should in your little mind." Charlotte says. "You will never get a chance to take on the best again, you will be shown for what you are, a little bag of hot air with absolutely nothing to back it up at all, nothing to hope for, nothing to dream of. You will not be able to look at those fans anymore and seem like a legitimate challenger to anything at all. You won't be able to look at the fans with any conviction, you won't be able to look at Amy Marshall with any convictions and you won't be able to look at yourself and see you deserve any shots at any gold. Your gravy train stops here Jessie, and we'll prove that the Metal N Punk Connection has wasted five years of their lives going for something that is never gonna happen."
Mackenzie looks at Charlotte.
"We done here Charley?" Mackenzie asks.
Charlotte nods towards her partner.
"Cameraman..." Mackenzie starts "Fuck off."
Mackenzie waves the cameraman away as the scene cuts to black.
