Cambridge, Massachusetts. Wednesday 19th June. (Offline)
Although things have been hard for Rodrigo since he won the briefcase, he knows he hasn't done anything with it, problem was for him, it hadn't really been his main focus and people it seems have been too desperate for him to do something with it. Rodrigo wasn't the kind of wrestler that would arrogantly brag about the briefcase and showing champions about being a threat. He'd rather show it when he's ready. Especially when he's expecting a baby on the way. It clearly hadn't really been on his mind. His fiancee however was concerned about Rodrigo's wrestling progress, although his skateboarding progress has been overall better.
Ella: “I honestly think these SCW wrestlers have been too hard on you.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “I know, they have no idea what or why I'm delaying this for so long.”
Ella: “Especially when I'm due to give birth soon and people going around and saying you need to cash the case in.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “It seems they are way too impatient. It seems they want me to be all up my own ass and shove the briefcase in people's faces. I barely have the ability to do that.”
Rodrigo shook his head on his lack of charisma skills he has for the microphone. In fact, Rodrigo was known to be afraid of shoving his face all over the camera when he doesn't wrestle matches. He was also told to care more about the losses.
Ella: “Also I know for sure you do care about losses, but you refuse to whine, complain and bitch about it like some wrestlers out there.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “I'm not gonna be those things because it gets you nowhere in life and doesn't do anything to help me improve to wrestle. I just suck at entertaining the crowd outside of wrestling matches.”
Ella: “I know you do and it's OK. I also understand that you're keeping this whole being a father thing a secret. I applaud you for that.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “But I love how people saying I'm a coward for admitting the truth. Why should I lie about it? If anything, not admitting the truth would make me a coward and a liar. Some people refuse to admit the truth and deny it.”
Ella nodded at Rodrigo that at least he was telling the truth and wasn't afraid or a coward to hide the facts about him. There was no ounce on his mind that Rodrigo knows he's been underperforming and to a point that he may very well end up going to another company to better himself because of the truths people gave him.
Ella: “I think that briefcase is going to be on the line next week.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “That's fine with me honestly because I will have no problems proving to everyone why I won and deserved this in the first place. I'm not going to be like everyone else in that match who has levels of threats, I think that's a garbage move wrestlers make every single time.”
Ella: “That's more like my Rodrigo, willing to go out there and prove to everyone that he has what it takes to become a champion in SCW. I believe you will but if you don't, not a big deal. Not like you won't win Olympic gold medal this year or have a baby in the world or anything as successes none of these wrestlers will get.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “I can agree with the gold medal thing, but a lot of wrestlers have kids during their title run or briefcase run. But I don't like to give things away to people. I also would sound very boring and honestly, predictable. I'm glad in a way that Miles lost the internet title because now, it's not going to be predictable for these wrestlers on who I'll pick.”
Although Ella didn't understand wrestling or the business itself, didn't understand skateboarding business either, but she knew about the hints the people gave to Rodrigo about him not being there for the briefcase. Ella went to the kitchen and made Rodrigo a chicken salad sandwich on a plate as she has noticed something about Rodrigo that was concerning.
Ella: “I know you've worried about me more than yourself, but you've barely been eating because of this stress about wrestling you caused onto yourself.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “I understand your concerns. It just sucks that I may have to put it on the line next week. All good, not gonna whine and complain about how unfair it is. If anything, I deserve this treatment.”
Ella: “No, you don't. I don't know why these wrestlers want you to cash it in and make the briefcase relevant. It's just silly on the wrestlers wanting you to show them that you're going to cash in so fast. Fact is, you haven't made the briefcase important because of me and the skateboarding Olympics chase.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “Exactly, both are more important than cashing in the briefcase and because I haven't been desperate, it just bothers me the desperation these wrestlers have. I mean sure I've lost against every champion I've fought, but that doesn't matter because I learn and grow from these losses for when I face them the next time.”
Ella came to sit next to him, clearly showing Rodrigo that she wasn't moving until he ate his chicken salad sandwich. But Rodrigo does as he had taken care more about Ella than he did with himself. Of course, they had been together for a few months now and it wasn't long ago Rodrigo did put the ring on Ella's finger to propose to her in Italy. She smiles as she saw Rodrigo taking bites of his sandwich.
Ella: “I think you can put all of your charismatic skills into place. I know you and Ian have put in practice along with the other dude as well. But this is the time for you to actually shine and make your name worth the place on the briefcase.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “You're right, I aim to take everything against me onto my opponents and retain the briefcase because I know there's hints of me defending it because of the stupid king and queen day stuff.”
Ella: “I know you can do it and even if you lose, you got Olympic gold to win and a baby to have in your hands, something of those two things you can treasure for the rest of your life and nothing of those will ever be taken from you.”
Rodrigo nods as he was reassured by Ella on the losing front that should he lose, he would always has those things and he responds back.”
Rodrigo Afonso: “Of course and I go and win the match because people say I have no confidence? I don't need to show it like these wrestlers do. Being overconfident can hurt you more than being under confident can because I've not got a big ego like majority of the wrestlers I could face in the match. I will do everything in my power to retain this briefcase and not let some snob take it from me.”
Ella applauds him as the baby kicks around a lot in her as Rodrigo rubs it and reassures the baby things will be fine and he will be champion regardless of what people say about him and will easily able to step up to the mark where it really matters and he knows what he has to do should the match become official next week and not knowing who his opponents are.

Ridiculous desperation on you wrestlers youtube.com shoot.
“I hate to be the one to do this because it goes everything against what I believe in, but the fact many of you including Guy whining and crying about me not cashing in the briefcase and not giving it much attention is ridiculous. Like seriously, what is it with all of you and being so desperate for me to shove my briefcase and face to the camera? I don't know why that's such a problem with all of you. I'm not bothered about defending my briefcase, if I got to prove it, I will, but you all are just ridiculous.
The whole lack of proving myself to champions, the whole lack of appearing on camera and talk to cameras about who I'm challenging is not me. I don't aim to be this egoist on who I will challenge for the titles. Because as I said, it's better to keep things in suspense than giving clues out. I don't give secrets away like that and I also do not like to put my face on camera, let alone speaking on camera. I also think having to show confidence is silly too. Because being overconfident can cost you. I show confidence in ways that I prefer to hide than show it off.
It doesn't make me a coward when people speak truths about me, it would be the opposite if I denied the comments said about me not shoving the briefcase to champions and not threatening them because I don't need to. I would've done it when I felt like I was ready to and I haven't been ready. I can easily admit I haven't delivered with the briefcase, you all are right, but there are things in my life I'm currently dealing with that are much bigger than the briefcase and the wrestling business itself. As I believe it states it can be cashed in any time of the year, not like six months or three months down the road.
But I digress since I have to speak up on the whiners and complainers over stupid stuff like this. Let's not get into who's a bigger threat than the other, those theories are just silly in itself. There is nobody in this match, no matter what achievements and what wins they've had are bigger threats than the other. I'm not stupid like some people like Peter, J2H and Entity are on saying these people are bigger threats.
All of you including the names I've not said are threats equally. I'm not going to trash any of you because quite frankly, I'm a much bigger person than that. Instead, this is about me and retaining the briefcase. That's what it's all about and I have no problems or the complaining about me this being unfair because I know it's right for the business on me proving to the world that I should work for it, despite Guy being stupid at doing so because he seems to be like everyone else, too desperate for me to do something with it.
It doesn't matter what words I have to say or do because although I don't like to show confidence, I just prove it in the ring because these words are meaningless. It's silly that Peter and Entity's of the world make monologues of people individually on who they speak about instead of saying everything all at once and stating who the threats are. Silly people underrate Artie who has just as much chance as any of you to win the match because he's still new to the business. Has anyone forgotten how he almost made it to the finals of the Blast From The Past tournament, despite his lack of wrestling experience? Has anyone forgotten about Carter almost becoming the SCW champion a few months ago? Has anyone forgotten the last time James was champion, he vacated the belt because he felt he couldn't defend it anymore? Who knows if the same situation would happen again?
But I'm not a coward or running away from situations unlike Entity attacking people from behind and has zero respect for anyone on the roster, acting like he's a big deal when he hasn't done a damn thing to challenge champions, despite the name he tries to live up to. I was never a big name like J2H or Peter who have achieved successes here or in other companies to already know they are big deals in wrestling with their egos. Peter doesn't even need to win the briefcase as he's internet champion anyway. I simply don't have anything bad to say about Artie as I would be a hypocrite if I was otherwise and Carter.
Fact is I'm going to do everything it takes to prove to you whining and crying idiots that I deserve the briefcase and I will retain it, no matter what odds I have against me in regards to even the bigger names. Just because James, Peter and Entity are favourites to win the thing, doesn't mean they will win because they won't. I will see you all in the ring when I will retain the briefcase because I can and I will.”
