He would be lying if he said the loss didn't bother him, it did. He wanted to leave the Princess Cruise as a two-time  SCW roulette champion, unfortunately Zayvion came up short and it was Ryan Keys who retained and left the Princess Cruise as champion.

Which meant he found himself back at square one.

He had sat there quietly at the spot for several minutes, his friends Bug and Lorenzo quickly took notice.

“Hey Zay, you good?” Bug asked.

“Yeah, I'm good..” Zayvion muttered.

“That's cap.” Lorenzo chimed in shaking his head. “What you got going on?”

“It's nothing..” Zayvion replied.  “I'll be alright, y'all ain't gotta worry about me.”

“You our boy tho.” said Bug “If something's going on you want to try to help you out.”

“Is it about the championship?” asked Lorenzo

Zayvion didn't reply, and somehow that spoke louder than if he had.

“Thought so.” nodded Lorenzo.

“Hey man.” said Bug putting a hand on Zavion's shoulder, “You gotta push past it man, you'll get back up on top. You're the one always telling us to keep pushing forward right? So now we got to tell that shit to you.”

“Just feels like since I didn't recapture it I got to go back to square one.” said Zayvion

“Then take your ass back to square one and climb back up again.” said Lorenzo, "You lost, we all do. But one thing my boys Zay doesn't do, is give up on himself.”

“Yeah what would Cleo say if she saw you being all mopey about it like this?” nodded Bug.

“That girl would probably bust his ass like his mama used to.” grinned Lorenzo.

That got a laugh out of all of them including Zayvion.

“There he is.” said Bug.

Zayvion grinned.

“No y'all are right.” he said “And I appreciate it. I guess it's just easier to say things like that sometimes, it's all right. I'll get back up and I'll find my way back up to a championship.
Maybe even a bigger prize at the end of the road.”

“Of course you will.” said Bug "You're Zayvion Lyons, and I think we got a surprise that will help pull you out this little funk.”

“Yeah I see him coming now, late as usual but he's here.” said Lorenzo.

“Who?” piqued Zayvion.

Both of his friends pointed behind him and when he turned to look....

“Three!” he exclaimed jumping to give his friend a hug “When they let you out?”

“About a week ago.” said his friend Three-Ball “Good behavior and all that.”

“That's what's up.” said Zayvion “Good for you man.”

“So what you been up to? How's the wrasslin’?” asked Three-Ball.

“He out here feeling sorry for himself cause he didn't win his championship back after he lost it.” said Lorenzo

”Man, is that true?" said Three-Ball

“Maybe a little…” Zayvion admitted

“Well you better knock that shit off quick.” said Three-Ball,  “That shit ain't you.”

“I know..” said Zayvion “It ain't easy though.”

“It's not supposed to be.” said Three-Ball “But I'll tell you something I didn't get out of jail early to to see my boy feeling sorry for himself. I pushed myself to get out early cause I want to see my boy do his thing. None of us care if you're a champion or not, we just want to see you succeed. We just want to see you out there representin’ for us.”

Lorenzo and Bug both nodded in agreement.

“What I don't want to see you is my boy moping around like this.” Three-Ball continued “So you need to just get over it, pull your ass together and keep doing what you do, representin’.”

Zayvion looked at all three of his friends, the guys had grown up with. They had been there with him long before the cameras, the shows, the championships and the fans asking for pictures. He wasn't The Flyin’ Lion to them was just Zay.

“Man, y'all can't even let me be sad for five minutes can you?” he said.

“Five?” said Lorenzo “We gave you like twenty.”

“That's generous.” said Bug with a laugh.

“Twenty-One would have been too much.” grinned Three-Ball

The four of them shared a laugh together.

“You know I spent so much time thinking about getting the championship back...” Zayvion said “I think I forgot why I wanted in the first place. It wasn't about me wanting a championship, I wanted my little brothers and sisters to see somebody from our neighborhood make it. I just wanted them to know that if you put in the work you can do whatever you want. I wanted all the underprivileged children to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  You don't got to end up arrested, locked up somewhere, or worse dead in the streets like common trash.”

“Them kids ain't worried about the championship.” Bug said “They care about you. Malik ain't countin’your title reigns. Saphira ain't looking at your win-loss record. When Baby J points at you on the television, he ain't yelling about you being a former roulette champion. He just says Zay over and over.”

That brought a smile to Zayvion's face.

“Remember that little basketball tournament we organized before you left for the cruise?” Lorenzo asked.

“Yeah, what about it?” said Zayvion

“And after it ended.." Lorenzo continued "You stayed around for hours. You signed every shirt, took a picture with everyone who asked, and you even played a game of HORSE with them little dudes. You think any of them care whether you become the roulette champion six or seven times over?"

“Six Seven.” Zayvion grinned.

His friends looked at him with blank expressions.

“...man you really just did that..” said Lorenzo.

“Sorry.” shrugged Zayvion “Been hanging around Malik too long I guess.”

Lorenzo shook his head, the others let out a quick laugh.

“Anyway…” he continued, "They're going to remember the wrestler that looked them in the eye and told them they mattered. To them that's the real championship. That's something nobody can ever take away from you, even if you lose every match.”

“Well I sure hope that doesn't happen.”
said Zayvion.

“Me either." said Bug “I'd have to start questioning your training. Like if you start losing every match I'm going to have to blame Cleo.”

“You know she’d probably whoop your ass for even saying that.” said Zayvion.

“Facts.” said Lorenzo.

They all nodded in agreement, nobody wanted that smoke.

“Thanks, I needed this guys.” said Zayvion.

“We know.” said Lorenzo “We was getting tired of looking at your sad ass face.”

“Yeah yeah..” said Zayvion “But now that the gangs fully back together, I think there's only one thing I really want to do right now."

“What's that?” Three-Ball asked

“We gotta hit the courts.” said Zayvion “You and me against the two of them. I know Bugs got the ball in his car. He always does.”

“Oh the two of you are about to get schooled by me and Zo’” said Bug.

“That remains to be seen." said Three-Ball "I ain't do much when I was locked up but practice my shots during yard time.”

“So what you think you Lebron now or something?” said Lorenzo

"I guess we'll have to see." Three-Ball grinned.

"I guess we will." said Lorenzo.

"I'll go get the ball, I'll meet you guys at the courts." said Bug.

And that's how he spent the rest of his afternoon just a classic game of 2 on 2 with the boys which of course as usual him and Three-Ball won. Hopefully he could use this momentum to get him back on the winning track in Sin City Wrestling, but at the end of the day he realized what really mattered was that he was someone who kept showing up.

__________

The cameras come to life on Zayvion in his usual fashion, sitting eyes facing slightly downward with his headphones on as a snippet of music plays. This time he's gone with Slippin’ by DMX.

##Ay yo I'm slippin', I'm fallin', I can't get up##
##Ay yo I'm slippin', I'm fallin', I can't get up##
##Ay yo I'm slippin', I'm fallin', I gots to get up##
##Get me back on my feet so I can tear shit up##

As the music fades he looks up to the camera lowering his headphones to begin speaking.

“Well here I am.” he said “Back at square one, back in the spot where I have to figure out where to go next because I did not recapture the roulette championship. So what that means for my future now? I don't know. That's up to Christian Underwood and the rest of the SCW management, all I can do right now is focus on what's directly in front of me and that's you Bill Barnhart.”

He exhales.

“Our match isn't about championships or contenders. “ he said “It's just a good old-fashioned singles match where the winner gets to take at least one step closer toward one of the three championships, and I promise you I'm going to bring you the fight because even though I lost at Into The Void,  I'm still looking to keep my name in the championship circles and I can't do that losing matches to Bill Barnhart.”

He shrugs.

“Can't do that losing to anybody really.” he said “But right now I especially can't afford another loss. I need to get back on my feet and stop slippin’ up. Whatever it is  I need to do, I need to find it. Maybe Cleo can help me but I'm going to do it.”

He nodded to himself before continuing.

“Now I ain't going to sit here and pretend that losing didn't bother me.” he said “It did I'm competitive and I wanted that championship back around my waist. I wanted to prove that losing it was just a bump in the road.”

He shrugged.

“But that's the thing about this business.” he said “Sometimes you get knocked down to the bottom of the ladder and when that happens you've got two choices."

He paused holding up two fingers.

“You can sit there feeling sorry for yourself or you can start climbin’ again.” he said “I was reminded of some of that this week by my boys back home. They reminded me that it is not the championship that makes me, it's me who makes me. Not having that championship on my waist doesn't change every kid I've inspired, it doesn't erase every fan I've met or the fact that I still belong here.”

He paused for a beat.

“So Bill you better bring the best Bill Barnhart you've ever brought.” he said “Because Zayvion Lyons is back on the rise,  he's back chasing championships and he's back trying to climb that ladder and unfortunately for you, you're the first rung.”

He grinned.

“That means I'm going to have to climb  right over you if I want to make my way back to the top.” he said  “I've been in there with you before, you're big, you're tough, and you're strong but I've overcome you before and I can overcome you again.”

He nods confidently.

“Look I don't know where my journey takes me next.” he said “Maybe it takes me back to the roulette championship, maybe it takes me to something higher, maybe it doesn't take me to any championships at all.  But one thing I'm not going to do is give up because Zayvion Lyons is the guy that will keep showing up.”

He nods confidently.

“Keep showing up.” he repeated “That's Zayvion Lyons.  Even when the lights aren't shining on him he keeps showing up. Even when things aren't turning up in his favor he keeps showing up. Because that's how real winning is done, not giving up on yourself and continuing to believe, and I promise you Bill Barnhart. I believe.”

A confident smirk grows on his face.

“A lot of people look at championships like the finish line.” he said “But I think they're mile markers telling you how far you've come. But they don't tell you how far you've got left to go, and I promise you Bill, Zayvion Lyons got a whole lot of road left in him.”

He pauses.

“And whoever that road takes him it doesn't matter. He'll keep pushing forward further down it toward the next mile.” he said “Because if there's anything I can promise it's that Zayvion Lyons will always… keep showing up.”

He nods once, puts his headphones back on and lets everything fade to black.

Supercard Roleplays / Not Just Respect...
« on: June 26, 2026, 03:55:13 PM »
The first day of the cruise had been a blur of boarding lines, luggage, room keys and wrestlers wandering around the ship like they had been dropped into a floating luxury hotel. There were plenty of jokes about who would spend all week at the buffet, who would get lost first, and which of them were going to somehow turn a relaxing vacation into a backstage argument. But by the second day, the Princess Cruise had begun to settle around the SCW roster and the ship was well out into open water.

Zayvion stood at the railing of one of the upper decks wearing a sleeveless shirt,  athletic shorts, and a pair of sunglasses he had bought at one of the gift shops on board after realizing he had packed at least five pairs of wrestling boots but only one decent pair of sunglasses. He took a ship from a bottle of water and watch the waves roll away beneath the ship. It was all just so peaceful.

Cleo Phillips emerged behind him wearing a loose white cover up over a dark swimsuit and carrying two plates of food from the buffet, she held one plate out to him.

“Don't say I didn't bring you anything.” she said.

Zayvion looked at the plate. There was some fruit, a couple small sandwiches, some grilled chicken and an unnecessarily large slice of chocolate cake.

“You brought me cake?” said Zayvion

“I got me cake.” Cleo corrected him “You can have the fruit.”

“That's cold.” Zayvion replied.

“Well you have a match.” she said “You need to eat healthy, to keep your body healthy.

“Is that right?” said Zayvion with a grin.

“Just being a good coach and trainer.” Cleo grinned back at him.

The two laughed together as Zavion popped a piece of pineapple into his mouth. It was delicious.

“That's got to be some of the freshest pineapple I've ever tasted.” Zayvion said.

“Still not cake.” Cleo smirked.

The two laughed as Cleo stepped up beside him at the railing. The pool deck below them was busy, families were lounging in chairs with their kids racing from one side of the pool to the other as soft music played from the speakers. He could spot a few of his SCW colleagues milling about enjoying the ship in their own way.

“I still can't get over how big this ship is.” Zayvion said “It's like a giant floating city.”

“It basically is.” Cleo agreed.

“And somehow everyone in the city is either a tourist, a crew member, or a wrestler trying not to get recognized while wearing flip flops.” Zayvion said.

They shared another laugh together and things went quiet for a moment, Zayvion enjoying more pineapple, Cleo enjoying bites of her cake. Zayvion’s eyes shifted around between all the activity of the ship around him.

It was the little things Zayvion was really starting to notice, an elderly couple sitting side by side enjoying the ocean view together, a group of teenagers taking what seemed to be the same selfie over and over, crew members moving efficiently through all the crowds somehow making the whole operation look effortless.

Zayvion said his forearms on the railing and looked out at the ocean.

“You have the thinking face on.” Cleo said.

“Just taking it all in.” Zayvion replied.

His eyes went back to the elderly couple, a how they simply sat beside each other, close enough that shoulders touched. They sat looking out at the waters if they had seen a thousand oceans together. He wondered how long they had known each other,  and how many trips they had taken. All the hard days they must have survived and the good ones as well.

His thoughts drifted back home. Big Momma would be lounging poolside judging everybody that walked by. Kaelani would have been taking selfies all over the deck like a typical teenager.  Saphira would try stealing desserts from the buffet,  Baby J would be fixated on all the seagulls and Malik? Malik would be running from one deck to the other looking for pirates.

Zayvion smiled, Cleo caught it straight away.

“What?” he said.

“That's twice now.” she said.

“Just thinking about home.” he said “I wish they could all see this.”

“You could consider bringing them next year." Cleo suggested.

“Yeah..” he said “I just might.”

As his eyes shifted around someone in particular caught his attention.

“No way.” he said.

“What is it?” Cleo asked.

Zayvion pointed to an older man across the deck from them moving past a row of lounge chairs with a towel slung over his shoulder.  He held a book under one arm, but most importantly, he had an eye patch.

“Pirate.” he said.

Cleo raised an eyebrow.

“You know that man is not a pirate.” she said “This is a cruise ship, not a cartoon.”

“I know..” he said “But Malik had this whole thing about me keeping an eye out for pirates, and what sort of big brother would I be if I didn't entertain him a little bit? I need to get a picture.”

“You can't just go taking pictures of random people." Cleo said “It's weird.”

“So just stand over there real quick.” he said "If I take a picture of you, and happen to catch him in the background then it's not weird.”

Cleo shook her head and laughed.

“You're lucky I love the little guy too.” she said.

Cleo got into position and gave a quick pose as Zayvion snapped a photo successfully,  cleverly capturing the potential secret pirate in the background.

He wasted no time sending the picture to Malik, along with a message.

Took a picture of Miss Cleo, and look who I caught sneaking around in the background.

Moments later, the familiar ding of the notification bell went off on his phone.

I KNEW IT!! THat is defanetley a secrut pirate. He might be looking for tresure. DO NOT LET HIM STEEL THE CHAMPONSHIP

Zayvion laughed, and show the response to Cleo who laughed as well.

He responded back.

I'll keep an eye on him. Big Brother Zay is officially on pirate watch.

Ding.

Be carefuul Zay.

Zayvion smiled.

“We really got to work on that kid's spelling.” he said to Cleo.

“Well he doesn't lack imagination, that's for sure.”
  said Cleo.

“You can say that again.
” Zayvion replied.

“He's going to tell everyone for weeks that his brother fought off a pirate on a cruise ship.” Cleo said

“I didn't say I fought him off.” Zayvion replied.

“You're going to let Malik believe you did.” Cleo replied.

“Depends how dangerous the situation gets.” Zayvion grinned.

“You're such a bad influence.” Cleo laughed

"I'm a supportive big brother." said Zayvion.

“You can be both.” said Cleo

They both laughed together. The message from Malik helped ground him. He imagined his little brother back home thinking about treasure maps, pirate swords and some eyepatched villain plotting to steal the roulette championship.

He was going to do everything in his power to make sure he was the one we left with the roulette championship not Ryan Keys, not Ciaran O'Doyle and certainly not any secret pirates.

__________

The cameras catch Zayvion Lyons poolside lounging in one of the chairs with his headphones on as we hear the familiar sound of music that accompanies the beginning of a Zayvion Lyons promo. This week it’s “Will” by Joyner Lucas

##I'm feelin' like Will##
##I think I'm a prince.##
## I'm feeling myself##
##I'm loaded with bills##
##'cause I wasn't blessed with no Uncle Phil##

He looks to the camera as he lowers the headphones and the music fades.

“So it's respect then.” he said “That's what the three of us are building this match on."

He nods.

“Aight, bet.” he said “I can fuck with that. But don't either of you mistake respect for complacency. When that bell rings I'm coming for both of you and I'm coming to take back the Roulette Championship.”

Zayvion glanced for a moment before looking back at the camera.

“I like that this match isn't going to be personal.” he said "Ryan Keys you were the better man at King for a Day, and Ciaran O'Doyle, I see the hunger in your eyes and I know exactly how tough that hunger can make somebody.”

Another nod.

“That makes it simple.” he said “This ain't no blood feud  and there ain't no hatred or personal vendetta. It's just three men that want the exact same thing. The SCW roulette championship and honestly I like it that way.”

A smile grows across his face.

“I like going out there competing and knowing there ain't going to be no excuses.” he said “If I win, then I earned it. If one of you win, then you earned it.”

A small pause.

“That's the thing about respect.” he said in a calm but firm voice “Respect is cool, and respect means that we all understand what the match is supposed to be. It means I know neither of you are a joke, and it means you know I'm not just here to float through the cruise happy to be here. But at the end of the day we all know that respect doesn't win championships.”

Another pause.

“So while I respect the both of you, and everything you both can do.” he said “When that bell rings all that respect gets left on the deck with the rest of the vacation plans. Because I'm not coming out there to share a nice moment with either of y'all.  I'm not coming to clap for having a good match and smile while somebody else walks out with that championship."

He shakes his head.

“I already did the hard part.” he said “I won the championship once so I know what it feels like to have that gold on my shoulder and hear the crowd say my name.  This isn't about proving I belong, that part's over. This is just about taking back what was mine.”

He pauses for a moment the ocean basking in the sunlight behind him.

“Some people look at redemption like it's some soft thing.” he said “A bunch of tears and speeches with everybody clapping because someone had a bad night and decided to try again. But to me, redemption is ugly. Redemption is sweaty. Redemption is somebody getting dropped on their head and getting back out because they decided they're not leaving without what they came for, and here on this cruise that person is me.”

He points to himself.

“All I've been doing is working since I lost that championship.” he said “I've been in the gym, I've been in the ring and I've been studying and listening. Not just the two of you, but myself as well. I need to look at the mistakes in my game so I don't slip up and take the L this time. I've been grinding myself into the ground so I can get back up one more time better than I was before.”

He lets his words hang for a moment as this ship moves steadily on carrying them with it.

“That's what people are missing.” he said “I'm not out here hoping for a lucky break or asking the universe to hand me something because I've been patient. I know patience.  Patience get you watched and studied but it also gets you left behind if you get too comfortable. So I ain't waiting on the right moment, or the ideal little storybook ending where everybody gets a nice handshake and a round of applause. I'm coming to make my own ending."

A smile creeps across his face.

“Ryan Keys,  I know you're not coming to that ring thinking it's going to be some easy night at sea.” he said “You've already beaten me once and that gives you confidence as it should confidence is useful and it keeps you moving, just be careful not to slip into overconfidence because because overconfidence will get you hurt."

He pauses.

“Ciaran O'Doyle..” he said “You're looking at this match like the opportunity of a lifetime, and in some ways it is because you know you don't get endless chances at this. You know you don't get to sleep walk through anything and assume the belt is going to wait around for you. So while I respect your hunger,  and I respect your drive and the fact that both of you are stepping in there for a reason. But don't forget that I've got one too and it's simple. I lost something I earned and I don't like how that feels.”

He shrugs.

“That's it.” he said “No complicated story, just  a man who doesn't like losing and doesn't intend on staying in that position.”

He pauses.

"Some would say Zay, you're on a cruise you should enjoy the vacation, relax and not put so much pressure on yourself.” he said “But the problem is if you've been through enough you know how to carry pressure, and you know how to breathe under it and keep moving when everybody else thinks you should buckle. I've been doing it my whole life carrying the weight of expectations, be it family, failure, recovery, wrestling, all of it. If I can carry all that, I can carry the weight of one championship match on a cruise ship in front of the whole world.”

He grins.

“Especially if the prize is my championship belt.” he said. “This week is supposed to be about enjoying the ride and I get it. I mean the sun, the ocean, the food. It's all beautiful  but I didn't come here for beautiful I came here for business. The business of taking back what's mine,  and I'm ready for all of it. When I step into that ring I'm not going to think about the buffet or the pool or all the amenities this cruise ship has to offer. I'm thinking about the roulette championship and hearing my name announced as the winner after I knock you both into the drink.”

He motions toward the pool.

“Maybe that's where it ends for one of you.” he said “Maybe that's where it ends for both of you if you ain't careful. You take a nice little splash, and I walk out with the championship.  Some people talk about pressure like it's a curse like it's the thing that's going to break you, but it doesn't break everybody oftentimes pressure makes diamonds and sometimes pressure makes men.”

He pauses again.

"I'm not asking to be validated.
" he said "I'm just telling you who I am a man who got knocked down and got back up a man who lost something and refuse to let that be the end of the story I'm a man who understands what he's stepping into and knows exactly what he's willing to do is leave for he came for."

His eyes narrow.

“So enjoy the cruise boys.” he said "Enjoy the sun, the water, the food. Enjoy the chance to say you are part of the Summer Xxxtreme aboard the Princess Cruise because once that bell rings, it's just me, the two of you and the championship. And I'm not leaving till I get mine back.”

He exhales.

“I've been through too much to treat this like a one-night story.” he said “I've come too far to get all the way here to be satisfied with looking respectable. I'm not here for respect alone, I'm here for the championship. So we can start with respect, but we're going to end with my hand raised as the new SCW roulette championship.”

He nods confidently to the headphones back on his head and leans back into his lounge chair.

“So enjoy the cruise fellas, because when Summer Xxxtreme actually gets here then the work begins.” he said

He eases more comfortably in his chair relaxing as the camera steadys on him for a moment before fading to black.

Supercard Roleplays / My New Addiction
« on: June 19, 2026, 01:56:30 AM »
The California sun beamed down on Zayvion and his younger brother Malik as they sat together, each enjoying an ice cream bar on a bench in a local Inglewood Park. Big Momma had taken the girls and Baby J shopping. Malik didn't want to go, so Zayvion opted to hang out with him for a few hours.

“How's the ice cream little man?” Zayvion asked.

“It's really good.” Malik replied “Thank you Zay.”

“Remember to eat it fast before it melts.” Zayvion smiled between bites of his own ice cream.

Malik nodded, and started to eat his ice cream a little faster, too fast.

“Whoa, careful not too fast…” Zayvion said “You don't want to give yourself a…”

And almost on Malik held his head and cried out in pain.

“...Brain freeze.” he said shaking his head “You're okay, it'll go away in a moment.”

“I'm dying.” Malik groaned dramatically.

“I promise you you're not dying.” said Zayvion

“My head is exploding.“ Malik said.

“Well that's certainly not happening.” said Zayvion “Could you imagine the mess?”

That got a laugh out of Malik and a few seconds later the brain freeze passed just as Zayvion promised.

“Better?” Zayvion asked.

“That was the worst feeling ever.” said Malik.

“That's what happens when you inhale ice cream like that.” said Zayvion “You have to find the perfect medium. Not too slow so it melts all over the place, and not too fast so you give yourself a brain freeze.”

Malik nodded and the brothers sat quietly for a moment enjoying the warm afternoon and finishing up their ice cream bars, Malik being more careful this time.

“So when do you have to leave again?” Malik asked.

“The Princess Cruise leaves port in a few days.” Zayvion replied.

“You really get to go on a big ship?” Malik asked wide-eyed.

“I do.” nodded Zayvion “A really big one.”

“Will there be pirates?” Malik asked with the excitement that only an eight-year-old could muster.

“No.” laughed Zayvion. "I'm afraid there won't be any pirates.”

“Awwww...” Malik replied.

“Sorry to disappoint you.” Zayvion said.

Malik sat and thought for a moment.

“What if there are secret
pirates?”
he grinned.

“Secret pirates?” Zayvion replied raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah, pirates pretending not to be pirates.” Malik said.

“Well if they're pretending not to be pirates how would we know their pirates?
" asked Zayvion.

That sounds like something a pirate would say.” Malik replied pointing at his brother.

Zayvion laughed.

“I'll tell you what.” he said “I'll keep an eye out just in case.”

Malik nodded with a smile.

“So what's the ship like then?” Malik asked.

“I'm not really sure myself.” Zayvion admitted “I've seen the pictures though, it's huge.”

“Are you going to have your own room?” Malik asked.

“Yeah." said Zayvion “I don't get one of the really cool ones because those are for the champions but I still get a pretty cool one.”

“If you didn't lose it, you would get a better room?” Malik said.

“Yep.” said Zayvion “But it's okay it's just a room. I need to focus on winning that championship again.“

“You really miss it?” Malik continued questioning

“Of course I do.” Zavion replied “I worked hard to get it and then it was taken from me just like that but sometimes that's just how it happens.”

Well I think you're going to become champion again.” Malik said.

“Oh yeah?” said Zayvion.

“Yep.” said Malik "You always tell me to believe in myself he said so somebody has to believe in you too.”

That response caught Zayvion slightly off guard,  and he looked at his brother with a smile.

“Well thanks little man.” he said “That means a lot.”

“Are you nervous?” Malik asked.

“A little.” Zayvion admitted.

“Because of the championship right?” Malik said.

“That's part of it.” Zayvion nodded.

“And the other part is because you're going to be surrounded by secret pirates?” Malik grinned.

Zayvion laughed and put his hands up.

“You got me.” he said.

“I knew it!” Malik exclaimed.

Zayvion smiled as his younger brother laughed. Truthfully there was nervousness, a cruise ship and a chance to regain something he lost. The roulette championship. Somehow hearing his younger brother talk about it made it feel lighter.

“So what happens when you win it back?” Malik asked.

“You already decided I'm winning haven't you?” said Zayvion.

“Obviously.” replied Malik.

“Well IF I win it back.” Zayvion said “That means I become a two-time roulette champion.”

“And then you get the cool room?” Malik asked.

“Only if I'm still the champion the next time we go on the cruise.” Zayvion said. “That means I have to stay champion for a whole year, or at least win a championship before the next cruise.”

“That's a long time.” said Malik.

“It is.” said Zayvion “Maybe next year I'll get the cool room.”

“Maybe.” nodded Malik “I still say you're winning the championship again.”

“Well, I can't promise victory little man.” he said “But I'm going to do my very best, and your support means a lot.”

Zayvion playfully rubbed the top of his brother's head.

“Just be sure you watch out for those secret pirates.” Malik said

“Of course.” Zayvion laughed.

The two brothers sat and joined each other's company for some time sharing laughs and memories until it came time for Big Momma to return home with the rest of his siblings, and time for Zayvion to bring little Malik back home.

__________

The cameras open on Zayvion in a dimly lit room, sitting at a table with his headphones on. A bottle of Hennessy rests on the table. The camera stays focused on him as Swimming Pools by Kendrick Lamar plays.

##I was in a dark room, loud tunes, lookin' to make a vow soon##
##That I'ma get fucked up, fillin' up my cup, I see the crowd mood##
##Changin' by the minute and the record on repeat##
##Took a sip, then another sip, then somebody said to me##

Zayvion looks directly at the camera saying nothing, only holding out a single recovery chip coin with the number 24 on it.

##Homie, why you babysittin' only two or three shots?##
##I'ma show you how to turn it up a notch##
##First, you get a swimming pool full of liquor, then you dive in it##
##Pool full of liquor, then you dive in it##

“My name is Zayvion Lyons and I'm an alcoholic.” he said, finally speaking, still holding up the chip, “Two years clean as of last month.”

He places the coin back in his pocket and glances at the Hennessy bottle.

“There is a time or I couldn't have this bottle sitting here without feeling like I needed to consume the whole thing.” he said “But now?”

He grabs the bottle and launches it across the room, it can be heard shattering somewhere offscreen.

“I don't need it anymore.” he said “Because the truth is, I have a new addiction and that addiction is championship gold.”

He nods.

“I had a taste of it and it was oh so good.” he said, “But then it was taken from me, taken from me by you Ryan Keys.”

He shrugs.

“Make no mistake about it, I ain't going to front on you.” he said “You were the better man that night, and that's why you won. But ever since then there's been that little tick eating at me. That little tick called addiction  and the only fix for it is championship gold and I need my fix.”

He exhales for a beat.

“The thing about addiction is..” he said “You'll do just about anything to get your fix. So I ask you Ryan Keys, and I ask you Ciaran O'Doyle, what are you really fighting for?"

He pauses staring at the camera as if waiting for a response.

“Are you just fighting for the flash, the glitz, and the glamour?" he said “Or are you fighting for something deeper? Because I promise you, I'm fighting for so much more than either of you can ever understand.”

He pauses.

“Everything I fought so hard to overcome.” he said “I need to show that it was all worth it. I need to prove to myself that not only can I capture the ball, but I can run with it as well. When I win that Roulette Championship back I'm not going to fumble this time.”

His eyes stay confidently locked on the camera.

“See what makes me different than a lot of people.” he continued “Is that I've already hit rock bottom. I've looked in the mirror and hated the person staring back at me. I've seen the disappointment on my family's face and watched people lose faith in me. I've spent countless nights wondering if I was ever going to get my life together.”

He pauses.

“And then I did.” he said with a confident smile. “With the help of Cleo Phillips I was able to fight my way out. One day clean became one week, that week turned into a month, that month became a year and now  I sit here at two years and some change clean.”

He pats the coin in his pocket.

“So when people talk to me about adversity and struggle.” he said “You're not talking to a man that's afraid of struggle, you're talking to a man that's lived it.”

The confidence in his voice remains undeniable.

“Ryan Keys, you beat me and you earned that championship.” he said “But you need to understand that the man you beat isn't the same man showing up on that cruise ship. The man you beat was too busy riding high and enjoying the view from the top. But the man you're about to face now is hungry. The man you're about to face now is starving to get that feeling again, and that makes me much more dangerous this time.”

He pauses for a beat.

“Ciaran O'Doyle” he continued. “You've got my respect as well, but you need to understand that respect doesn't win championships, hunger does. You haven't had a taste of the top like I have. You're not as hungry as I am. Trust me, I've been right where you're at, trying to get there but once you get there, get the taste and then you lose it, something flips in you. You just…, you just need to get it back.”

He pauses again, and slides a photograph on the table. The camera gets a shot of it revealing it to be a picture of him smiling with his siblings and his grandmother.

“They are my motivation..” he said “I've got a sixteen year old sister who's working too hard for a sixteen year old.  I got a little brother that thinks I can do anything, I got a younger sister and a baby brother that deserve to know setbacks are not the end of the story, and I got my Big Momma you sacrificed everything to keep the family together.”

He exhales heavily.

“I ain't got my mom's no more.” he said. “She wasn't here to see me get clean, or see any of my success in Sin City Wrestling, so it's  up to me to be that example for my siblings. It's up to me to take every lesson that she taught me when she was here and apply that to my life
and pass that down to to my siblings. They need to see me as someone they can believe in, and I ain't about to let them down.”

He taps the photograph.

“So me? I'm not fighting because it's cool.” He said “I'm fighting because every lesson I've learned is riding on my shoulders every time I walk through that curtain. Now if I leave that cruise ship empty-handed then I'll shake the winners hand and congratulate the better man, but make no mistake about it I'm showing up expecting to leave with that championship and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to earn it.”

He nods confidently.

“You two are what stands between me and my next fix.” he said “And addicts can be some dangerous people when they want something bad enough.  But unlike the bottle,  this is an addiction that makes me better and at Summer Xxxtreme this addict is getting his fix.”

The camera focuses on him, as he outs his headphones back on and holds the picture up. The camera zooms in closer, as a slightly modified portion of Chris Rene’s “Young Homie” plays.

##Living life with loved ones close to me##
##Shh, ahh, this is the remedy##
##And I got the recipe, I don't need no Hennessy##
##Yeah, it's been two years now##
##Haven't had a drink and I'm starting to see clear now…##

_________

The scent of saltwater drifted through the air past Zayvion's nose as he and Cleo looked at the massive Princess Cruise ship looming over the harbor. He adjusted the strap of his duffle bag song over his shoulder and just stared up at the ship.

“Damn.” he said.

Cleo Phillips grinned beside him.

“That's all you got?” she said.

“I mean, does more really need to be said,” he replied.

“Naw.” laughed Cleo “I had the same reaction when I came here last year for Eddie's wedding.”

“Yet, you still look impressed.” said Zayvion

“Well, it is a pretty impressive ship.” she admitted.

“Then a simple damn is justified.” he grinned.

For a few moments. the two simply leaned against the railing of the dock and watched before Cleo finally broke the silence.

“You nervous?” she said

He didn't answer immediately it was a question he had been asked a lot lately by reporters, colleagues, friends, family and even himself.

“A little.” he finally spoke.

“Good.” Cleo replied “That means you care.”

“It just feels different this time.” Zayvion said “Like when I won the Roulette Championship,  I was so focused on winning it. After I got it I think I let myself get comfortable.”

Cleo didn't respond, she just listened as Zayvion continued.

“I wasn't lazy or nothin.” he said "I just spent so much time chasing the mountain I didn't think enough about staying on top of it.”

“That's growth you know." she said “Admitting a hard truth like that, most people would lose something and blame everyone except themselves. But not you, you looked at yourself first and that's how true winners are born.”

“What if I don't learn from it, then losing was pointless.”
Zayvion shrugged.

Cleo nodded.

“Exactly.” she said

The caw of a seagull overhead interrupted their conversation for a moment.

“You know..” Cleo said quietly “I remember the day I met you.”

“Oh no….” Zayvion grinned.

“You were a mess.” she said

‘Yeah…” Zayvion said quietly.

“You had just lost your mother, and you were spiraling through your addiction and poor decisions.” she said “You came into the Lyons thinking your last name alone could save you and you quickly realized it couldn't. You came in there acting like the world owed you something.”

“But you chose to help me anyway.” he said.

“Because I saw something else in you.” she said “And I understood where you came from. So what I saw was a fighter. I saw the person underneath all that, that was trying to get back up every time life knocked him down. Sure maybe it was after he did something incredibly stupid, but he still always got back up.”

Zayvion let out a quick laugh.

“Yeah I did do some pretty stupid shit back then.” he said. “Couple years ago, I never could have imagined this. Being clean and wrestling on a cruise ship for championships, having kids look up to me. That part scares me more than the championship because at least with the championship I know what I'm supposed to do.”

He paused for a moment.

"But being somebody my brothers and sisters can look up to?" he said "Someone the kids that come to our shows look to for inspiration? That's the hard part.”

“That's just adulthood.” Cleo shrugged.

“Yeah…” nodded Zayvion.

Some announcements blared through the speakers that the ship would begin boarding soon. The reality of the trip was becoming more tangible by the minute.

“You ready?” Cleo asked.

Zayvion took a deep breath of the crisp ocean air.

“Yeah…” he said confidently “I'm ready.”

He looked at the towering ship and the chapter did his duffel bag thinking about his family and everything he had fought through to get him to this point. He lost a championship but his journey was far from over.

“Let's get to work.” he said.

Together they stepped onboard the princess ship ready for whatever waited on the next horizon.

Climax Control Archives / Bounce Back
« on: May 29, 2026, 11:05:29 PM »
Most people deal with a major loss in two different ways. Some people begin to question themselves and beat themselves up over it, and others use it as a learning opportunity to bounce back stronger. Zayvion Lyons is one who prides himself on being the latter,  and even though he took the L against Ryan Keys, he's focused on the bounce back and regaining the Roulette Championship.

__________

Zayvion sat in his family's Inglewood home and sweatpants in a faded hoodie watching his younger brother Malik pace the room and frustration. The kid had taken Zayvion's loss of the Roulette Championship harder than Zayvion himself.

Zayvion understood, His little brother looked at him like a hero, and nobody wants to see their heroes lose.

“They cheated.” Malik said “The referee counted too fast!”

“No, little man.” said Zayvion “Ryan Keys you got me plain and simple.”

“But you just won that championship!” Malik pouted.

“Sometimes it happens like that.” said Zayvion "You can't win them all,  I just got to try harder next time.”

“Doesn't it bother you?” Malik asked

“Of course it bothers me.”
said Zayvion.

“Then why aren't you mad?” Malik's questioning continued.

“I am mad.” said Zayvion "I worked hard to get that championship,  and I wanted to keep it. It sucks that I lost it about as soon as I got it.”

“Then why are you acting so calm?” Malik asked.

“Because being mad doesn't change what happened.” Zayvion told him. “It's no use getting mad every time you take an L.”

Malik finally stopped pacing and sat on the couch next to Zayvion.

“Let me ask you something little bro.” Zayvion said.

“What?” piqued Malik.

"Who usually wins when we play Mario Kart?" Zayvion asked him

"Me!." Malik replied A smirk immediately appearing on his face.

"Most of the time." Zayvion agreed

“All of the time.”
Malik said matter-of-factly

“Okay first of all… that's not true.” Zayvion grinned.

“Okay fine, but I still win nine point nineninenineninenine percent of the time” Malik replied

“Do I get mad when I lose?” said Zayvion “Do I throw the controller, call the game stupid and refuse to play anymore?”

“No.” Malik replied “You always just want to race again.”

“Exactly.” Zayvion continued “When I lose I just have to figure out why. Maybe I did a bad turn, or used the wrong item at the wrong time or maybe you were just better.”

“It's the last one.” said Malik with a grin.

“Don't push it.” said Zavion playfully punching his brother in the shoulder.

Malik's grin widened.

"And what happened a few times I beat you?" Zayvion continued "Did you get mad?”

“No.” Malik replied “I just raced you again.”

“Exactly.” Zayvion said “You got better and you won next time.”

“So you're saying this is just another loss?” said Malik looking up at Zayvion.

“It's a loss.” Zayvion explained “And losses are part of life.”

“I still don't like it.” said Malik.

“You don't have to.” said Zayvion.

“I don't?” Malik said raising an eyebrow.

“You don't have to like losing.” Zayvion explained “Nobody does. Anyone who says they do is cappin’. But there's a difference between hating a loss and letting a loss control you.”

“What do you mean?” asked Malik.

“When people let losses control them,  they start making excuses for it.“ said Zayvion.

“Like saying the game cheated?” said Malik

“Exactly.” said Zayvion “And that sort of attitude is never going to help you get better. If I lost it's because Ryan Keys was the better man that night,  and I need to find the mistakes I made and fix those mistakes. I need to put in work,  So that I can do better next time.”

“So then next time, you can become a two-time champion!” said Malik

“That's the spirit.” said Zayvion playfully rubbing his brother's head. “One loss doesn't erase everything that came before it. I still worked my way up and know what I'm capable of so losing that Championship doesn't make me a loser, it just means I lost. If I let the loss consume me, then that is what would make me a loser.”

“So what's next?” Malik asked.

“What's next is training hard with your Auntie Cleo so I can bring that Championship home again.” said Zayvion “But right now I think there's only one thing to focus on…”

“What's that?” Malik asked.

“Getting my dub back from you…” Zayvion grinned.

“Oh you want to lose in Mario Kart again.” said Malik.

“If I do..” said Zayvion “I'll just run it back and try harder in the next one.”

“You never learn do you?" said Malik shaking his head.

“Just go get the sticks and let's do this.” said Zayvion.

Malik happily ran off to get everything ready for the game, and for Zayvion, the loss still hurt,  but life kept moving and so would he.

__________

It was supposed to be a day of just kicking back with the boys. Zayvion wanted to just chilling get his mine up SCW for a little while after the loss of his championship.

So of course it was just his luck that has he passed an empty basketball court, and he was confronted with a familiar voice.

Terrell Booker. Once again being the neighborhood problem.

“Well if it isn't the former champ..” Terrell taunted “You talked all that game about being a champion and you choked in your first offense.”

“That's one way of looking at it.” said Zayvion.

“Honestly I'd be embarrassed to show my face around here after that if I were you.” said Terrell

“Well, I guess it's a good thing you're not me.” Zayvion replied.

Terrell took a step closer to Zayvion.

“You ain't got your boys with you now.” said Terrell “Your little fan club ain't here this time.”

Zayvion looked around dramatically.

“Nope.” he said.

“Don't get smart with me.” said Terrell

The two stood there and locked eyes for a moment. Zayvion wasn't looking for a fight, but he could tell Terrell was. That left him with two options, fight, or pass a charisma check.

“Can I ask you something?” said Zayvion.

“What?” said Terrell.

“Why do you care so much?” Zayvion asked. “You always got something to say about me, and everybody else.”

“I just don't think you're as special as everybody thinks.” said Terrell.

“Okay.” shrugged Zayvion.

“Okay?!” Terrell seemed confused.

“Okay.” Zayvion restated.

“What you playin’ at?” Terrell said, annoyed.

“I mean you're allowed to have whatever opinion you want of me.” said Zayvion “But maybe you shouldn't spend so much time worrying about what everybody else is doing.”

“Somebody's got to keep everybody on the block humble.” said Terrell.

“Why?” said Zayvion “And why would that be your job?”

Zayvion motioned around him.

“Look around.” he said “People here don't need you humbling them because life already has. Everybody here has something they're fighting. We all got enough obstacles, but instead of helping somebody overcome those obstacles you're out here trying to become another one.”

Terrell scoffed.

“We should be lifting each other up.  Not bringing each other down.” said Zayvion.

“That all sounds soft to me.” said Terrell

“What's soft is needing everybody around you to feel smaller so you can feel bigger.” said Zayvion.

Terrell's eyes narrowed. Zayvion wasn't intimated.

“You always going around trying to start a fight.“ said Zayvion "You have to have everybody thinking you're tough, and I'm not saying you're not, but you spend so much time trying to prove it, that you made it your whole personality. But you know what I see?”

“What?” said Terrell.

“I see a guy spending his afternoon worrying about the championship somebody else lost.” said Zayvion.

“Because you LOST. said Terrell

“Yeah.. I lost” Zayvion shrugged “And somehow you're more upset about it than I am. You keep talking about my loss but what are you building and working toward.?”

“Huh?” said Terrell

“What are your goals?" said Zayvion “What are you trying to accomplish? Because every time I come around and see you, you're talking about somebody else. But I never hear you talk about yourself.”

Terrell didn't answer.

“I think you're scared.” said Zayvion.

“Man I'm a real one, I ain't afraid of nobody." said Terrell.

“I didn't say scared of somebody.” Zayvion replied “I think you're scared of being nobody. Because if you're not the toughest guy around, nobody asks what else you got going on.“

“I don't need your pity.” said Terrell

“I'm not trying to pity you.” said Zayvion “I just think you're capable of more than this.”

“I don't need to listen to you.” said Terrell.

“No you don't.“ said Zayvion. “You can do whatever you want. But I'm just trying to tell you, you keep acting like you do ain't nothing ever going to change. Sure I got knocked down and lost my championship, but it happens. Everybody who ever accomplished something experienced failure along the way. Every successful person takes losses and it's about what you learn from them.”

Terell remained quiet.

“I if you don't learn from your loss then you're going to stay exactly where you are.“ said Zayvion “I'm not trying to wake up ten years from now the exact same place I'm trying to get my bag I'm trying to wise up and ain't nobody like you going to hold me back. So go ahead Terrell. Keep hating because I'm going to rise back up, and when I get my championship again you're still going to be stuck in the same place. So until then, have a good day Terrell."

Zayvion patted Terrell on the shoulder, smiled and simply walked away.

“Hey get back here!” Terrell called back at him “I'm not done with you! This ain't over Zayvion!”

Zayvion ignored Terrell shouts. The guy could try to run the neighborhood and act as tough as he wanted.  One thing he wasn't going to do was distract Zayvion from the main focus of becoming a champion again, because unlike Terrell, Zayvion was building something bigger than himself.

__________

The cameras open for Zayvion Lyons sitting on the hood of his car in a quiet parking lot wearing his usual Urban attire, hoodie, baggy pants, Air Force Ones. He's wearing his headphones and letting some music play to start the promo this time, it's Big Sean’s “Bounce Back”

##Last night took a L, but tonight I bounce back##
##Boy, I been broke as hell, cashed a check and bounced back##
##D town LAX, every week I bounce back##
##If you a real one, then you know how to bounce back##

Zayvion lowers the headphones, and locks eyes with the camera.

“You know everybody's got an opinion about what happened.” he said "I lost the Roulette Championship, and that's okay. Not because I wanted it to happen, I worked my ass off to get that championship.”

He shrugs.

“Losses happen.” he said “Some people will see a loss and treat it like it's the end of a story, but that ain't me. I see it as one chapter and what matters now is what I do in the next one.

He pauses.

“That brings me to Ciaran Doyle…” he continued. “I ain't got no issues with Ciaran. No bad blood or nothing. That man walks into that ring every time and does his thing. That's something I can respect, but it's also why I can't afford to overlook him. Because right now what I need is a challenge. I need somebody that's going to force me to bring my best so I can remind everybody, including myself, who Zayvion Lyons is.”

He slowly stands up from the hood of the car.

“I may not have held that championship for a long time.” he said “But champions aren't defined by how long they hold a title, they're defined by how they respond when they lose it. I'm not going to make any excuses. Ryan Keys was the better man that night and I had to take the L.”

He shrugs.

“It is what it is.” he said “But now I have to bounce back, and what that means for you Ciaran is that you're going to get a version of me that's more determined than ever.”

He nods once.

“That's the thing about setbacks.” he said “A lot of people think a setback means you're moving backward, but for me a setback means the road just got a little longer. If anybody thinks me losing that championship changes where I'm headed, then they're just fooling themselves.”

He begins pacing in front of the car.

“Ciaran, you didn't wrong me, or disrespect me.” Zayvion continued “But you are the man that stands across from me as I try to climb right back to the top of the mountain, and that's a tough place to be.”

He exhales quickly.

“The version of me standing in here now is going to come a little different.” he said “Because this version knows what it feels like to work hard for something and have it taken away. This version is going to hit harder and move faster. I'm not going to stop believing in myself because I lost my championship. It just makes me work harder, and that's bad news not just for you, but for the rest of the locker room as well.”

He lets those words hang for a moment.

“I've bounced back from losses before.” he said “Every single time I got knocked out, I got back up because that's who I am. tlthat championship didn't make Zayvion Lyons,  I made Zayvion Lyons. And that's something nobody's going to be able to take away from me.”

He pauses.

“Ciaran, this match isn't about proving who's tougher.” he said “We've already both proven that we're tough and that we belong here. It's about two men trying to move forward and only one gets to leave with momentum, and right now I need it. I need to get back on track.”

A determined look crosses his face.

“I'm going to remind everyone, and myself that I'm the guy that keeps pushing and I'm the guy that gets back up.” he said “I will fight my way back to the top and you Ciaran are the one that's in my way of doing that next.”

He exhales.

“When we step in that ring I'm not carrying the weight of a loss.” he said “I'm carrying the lesson. The difference is that anybody can let a loss break them and look for excuses. But that's never been me, it ain't me now, and it ain't never going to be me. Losing that championship told me that nothing is guaranteed, so that means every chance you get matters and this chance matters to me this is my chance to get on my bounce back.”

He speaks not with arrogance but determination and confidence.

“That's why I have to give you everything I got.” he said "Because you're standing between me and that next step. I can't overlook you or take you lightly, because that's how people lose and I had enough of that last time.”

He grins.

“I don't look backwards.” said Zayvion “What happened, happened. It's in the past but what happens next is about to be even more exciting.”

He pauses.

“Don't believe me just watch.” he said.

He gives s one final confident look to the camera before putting the headphones back on, sits back on the hood of the car and lets everything fade to black to one final lyric.

##Last night I took an L, but tonight I bounce back…##

Climax Control Archives / Zay From The Block
« on: May 22, 2026, 06:36:24 PM »
The tour overseas had been a wonderful new experience with Zayvion but he was really happy to just be back home in Inglewood, for all his friends and family, the ones who had been there for him since day one.

Cleo Phillips had truly pushed him to another level, but before even she came along there were ones that pushed him to be better even when he was ready to give up.
Without them he wouldn't be the champion, or man he is today.

__________

It was a warm California afternoon when Zayvion visited the cemetery where his mother was buried. It had been close to three years now since the drive-by that took his mother's life, and she had truly been the strongest woman he had ever known, stronger than Cleo even.

He rested his championship against her headstone and just sat there observing it for a while, she deserved that she was his champion after all.

“I did it.” he said.  “Or I'm doing it, but I'm out there. I'm going to make something of myself. Your boys a champion now, and he ain't going to stop here. I'm going to stay on my grind Ma’ Dukes I promise you. I'm going to take care of my little brothers and sisters and Big Momma too.

He let out a heavy heartfelt sigh.

“I couldn't have done it without you though.” he said “You taught me to be strong and you taught me how to persevere even through the hardest of times.  All the love you showed me, all of the hugs and kisses, and even the whoopin’s they got me here.”

A comforting laugh exits his lips.

“I remember I was like what, about ten? And Kaelani and I were arguing about something stupid.”  he said “I don't even remember what we were arguing about, but it got me upset so I went and cut the hair off her favorite Barbie doll. You gave me a good whoopin’ for that one didn't you?”

He shrugs.

“Can't say I didn't deserve that one.” he said. “You even made me use my allowance money to buy her a replacement. That helped teach me how to be responsible for my actions, it taught me accountability.”

He exhaled through his nose.

“I used to think you were hard on me.” he said “But as I got older, I understood things more. How easy it is to blame others, how easy it is to quit, that's something you never let me do.“

He nodded slowly.

“If we ain't got money, we got character. If we got no opportunities, we still got work ethic.” he said “You always told me things like that and I understand so much more now.”

He grabbed his championship has he rose to his feet and stood there for a moment.

“You would have loved this.” he said looking at his championship “You'd try to play it cool, but you'd be telling all your girlfriend's back at the salon how your son is a champion, you'd be lettin’ the whole neighborhood know.”

He thumbed away a single tear from his eye.

“I just wish you got to meet the man I've become.” he said “I know you'd tell me you already knew because you were the one who believed in me first, even before I ever did.”

He sighed softly.

“I love you Ma Dukes.” he said “And I promise I'm going to continue to make you proud,I know you are always up there watching over me, and the rest of us. Just know one thing..”

He pauses.

“I got this.” he said.

With another heavy sigh, he ran his fingers across the headstone with his free hand and turned heading back toward the cemetery gates. He wasn't leaving her behind, he was carrying her with him.
__________

The moment Zayvion opened the door to his grandmother's Inglewood home, he was barely able to set his bags down before the excited yell of his younger brother Malik, who came running down the hall straight into Zayvion like Dino greeting Fred Flintstone.

“ZAAAAAY!!!!” Malik's voice echoed throughout the house.

“There's my little man.” Zayvion said, stumbling back slightly as Malik glomped into him. "What happened to your tooth? You haven't been jumping off Big Momma's furniture again have you?”

“No.” said Malik shaking his head “It fell out and the Tooth Fairy gave me a dollar!”

“Wow!” said Zayvion wide-eyed “A whole dollar?”

“Yup.” said Malik proudly.

Then Zayvion heard another voice.

“Boy, you better shut my door before you let all this cool air out of here.” came the voice of Big Momma.

“Yes ma'am.” Zayvion said, closing the door behind him.

“Plus you got the whole neighborhood talking about you now." she said “I they see you I'm going to have everybody up on my doorstep.”

Zayvion laughed and hugged his grandmother.

“How you doing Big Momma?” he said.

“Oh my back's been bothering me a bit.“
she replied “But my old ass is fine. You ain't got to worry about me.”

Another voice came from the hall, Saphira this time.

“Zay!” she smiled as she hugged him. “You're home!”

“It's good to be home.”  he said “Here check this out guys…”

He reached into his bag and pulled out the SCW Roulette championship.

“You brought it!” exclaimed Malik

‘It's shiny.” noted Saphira.

“Can I hold it?” asked Malik.

“Of course.” said Zayvion placing the championship in his brother's outstretched hand. The kid almost buckled under the weight, but Zayvion helped keep him supported.

“It's heavy..” said Malik.

“It doesn't look that heavy..” said Saphira “Maybe you're not strong enough.”

“You try then.” Malik taunted back.

Zavion helped place the championship in his younger sister's hands to the same result.

“I told you it was heavy.”  said Malik

Saphira stuck her tongue out at Malik.

“Oh look, the big shot is home.” came  yet another voice, Kaelani. 16 years old with all the attitude that came with it.

“Hello to you too, Kaelani.” said Zayvion.

There was a short pause between them.

“There it is.” Zayvion's grinned.

“There's what?” said Kaelani

“You smiled.” he said.

“Did not.” said Kaelani.

“I saw it too.” said Malik

“Admit it. You missed me.” said Zayvion.

“Well…Maybe a little.” said Kaelani folding her arms.

“I missed you too.” said Zayvion shaking his head and forcing her into a hug.

“All right. All right.” Kaelani protested “Don't make it weird.”

“I mean it though he said I missed all you guys.” he said “It was cool seeing all those different places all over the world but I'm really just glad to be home.”

“You made that Logan guy look like a wet dog.” Malik laughed.

Zayvion laughed along with them and rubbed the top of his little brother's head, just had some crying was heard from down the hall.

"Oh I better go check on the baby.." said Big Momma.

“No.” said Zayvion stopping her,  "You relax.”

He headed to the backroom. Malik followed.

“I got this.” he said.

"I wanna help!" said Malik

With his helper following close behind, Zayvion went to attend to the baby's needs. It did feel good to be home and this was giving him a sense of normalcy before he had to go and get back to business once again.

__________

The park bench still looked the same as the Zayvion approached, where Bug and Lorenzo were waiting.

“Yo! There's my boy the champion.” said Lorenzo, dabbing Zayvion up.

“What's good?” said Bug dabbing Zayvion up as well.

“It's just good to be home and see my boys.” said Zayvion.

Bug and Lorenzo both observed the championship on his shoulder.

“It's really real, huh?” said Bug.

“Yeah it's really real.“  said Zayvion

“I used to sit in the same spot and listen talking about making it.” said Lorenzo "Now look at you you, you did it big dog. The blocks proud of you.”

“It still feels weird.” said Zayvion.

“So what was the coolest place you went to?” asked Lorenzo.

“It has to be Japan.” replied his Zayvion “You would have loved it there Bug, with all the anime stuff.”

“I bet it was amazing.” said Bug

“It was.” said Zayvion tapping the bench, “But it still feels better being back home.”

Zayvion looked around at the old park, the chain link fences, the kids playing on the structures, some old heads playing a game of chess. This was his home, this was where he felt most comfortable.

Then it only took a second for it to become uncomfortable.

“Well, if it isn't our local celebrity.”

Terrell Booker. The local problem. Same as ever, always always hanging around somewhere trying to become somebody else's problem. Most referred to him as the neighborhood “Deebo.”.

“That's some nice shine you got there, Hollywood.” Terrell said approaching them

“Yeah…” muttered Zayvion.

“You gonna let a homie hold it?” he said

“Naw…I'm good.” said Zayvion.

Terrell frowned.

“Oh so it's going to be like that?” he said “I thought you were all about the hood and shit, still Zay from the block and all that.”

“I am.” said Zayvion.

“Then come on just let me hold it for a second." said Terrell, reaching out for it.

“I said no.” Zayvion said, slapping Terrell’s hand away.

“What? You forget where you from or something?” Terrell taunted.

Zayvion stood to face Terell, looking him in the eyes.

“Ain't nobody forget shit.” he said

“What it looks like is everybody around here strugglin’ and you out here struttin’ your gold around trying to rub it in everybody's face.” said Terrell.

“It ain't like that Terrell.” Zayvion said, more sternly this time.

“Then let me..” Terrell reached for the championship again.

Zayvion slapped his hand away again, now both Bug and Lorenzo were standing.

“Hey he said no.” said Bug “Why don't you get out of here Terrell?”

“Or maybe I should stop asking.” said Terrell, yaking a step closer to Zayvion, Zayvion didn't back down.

“Sup?” said Zayvion, not breaking eye contact.

“Sup’?” replied Terrell,  keeping his own eye contact.

They stood there staring at each other down intensely for just a few seconds when Lorenzo stepped between them.

“Bug, get him out of here.” he said

Bug nodded and started to pull Zayvion away.

“Lo’ you don't gotta do this” Zayvion said

“You got too much to lose.” said Lorenzo “Your career and everything you've worked for. Don't worry about this punk. He ain't worth the risk.

“What? You can't fight your own fights now Hollywood?” taunted Terrell.

“Just go.” said Lorenzo “Don't listen to him.”

“Lo”...” said Zayvion.

“Don't worry.” Lorenzo said. “I got this.”

Zayvion and Bug didn't look back to see what was happening,  they could hear it,  but Bug Zayvion moving along. Zayvion didn't like the idea but he understood. This wasn't his life anymore, but to Bug and Lorenzo this was still a regular Friday night.

These were the people he fought for, the ones who held them up and the ones who always had his back. His job was to make sure he stayed up, and at this moment that meant defending his championship for the first time against Ryan Keys.

__________

The scene opens with Zayvion Lyons wearing his usual headphones leaning back against a wall as the sound of American Pharoah by Jase Harley plays.

##Woke up in the morning##
##Broke all my chains##
##Money's my language##
##But I'm nobody's slave##
##Open my eyes##
##See the crabs in the barrel##
##'Cause I'm on the rise##
##An American pharaoh##

As the music fades out, he lowers the headphones and looks to the camera.

“Ryan Keys…” he said “Or should I call you your majesty?

A playful grin grows across his face.

“So you won King for a Day..” he said “Giving you full control to make whatever matches you wanted for one show and you did the predictable thing and gave yourself a championship match. My main question is why me?”

He raises an eyebrow.

“I mean I'm not trying to sell myself short or anything…” he said “But Miles Kasey holds the biggest prize in the game. Why would you not choose to challenge him? Do you think that perhaps I might be the easier target? Because if that's true, then that tells me something. You lack confidence.”

He steps off the wall, moving closer to the camera.

“I mean if I were in your position.“ he continued “I would most certainly challenge the world champion, not the up and comer, because I'm doing whatever I can to get my bag. If that means going toe to toe with the person on top and that's what I'm going to do.”

He shrugs.

“But that's not you is it Ryan?” he said “You don't think you have what it takes to beat Miles Kasey, so you chose me thinking you can reclaim this championship after losing it to Logan Hunter.”

He shakes his head.

“Nah homie, I ain't with that.” he said “With all due respect I ain't about to be seen as the easier target over anybody,  and if that's really what you think I ain't got no problem teaching you a hard-ass lesson.”

He pauses.

“I may not have the accolades of a Miles Kasey.” he said “But I ain't about to fold for nobody. You have to understand that this ain't going to be no party. I like to celebrate and have fun as much as the next guy but at some point the party does got to stop, and you got to tell the homies to go home because you got shit to do in the morning.”

He keeps his attention on the camera.

“That bell's going to ring.” he said “And that's when the party is going to stop because I'm going to have some business to handle, and that business is defending my roulette championship in my first ever main event.”

He taps the championship on his shoulder for effect.

“You have to understand.” he said “You can't just look at me as a guy that just won a championship. You're walking in with that kid from Inglewood that learned real quick nothing gets handed to you. A kid whose mom taught him character, but never got to see the man he became. The man whose family holds things down while he's gone providing for them, the man who got friends protecting the investment before the investment even existed.”

He exhales.

“It's just things you can't understand Ryan.” he said “Because you're too focused on the prize and the party that you don't understand the bigger picture of what it all represents. I got people I'm doing this for, I got people counting on me that I refuse to let down.”

He keeps his tone firm and direct.

“I don't just do this for me.” he said “I do this for every underprivileged kid out there who's been told they can't make it. Every kid who's been told that they weren't going to amount to nothing. You ever had a teacher tell you you weren't going to be shit? Because I have. Well guess what Mrs. Walker? Your old crusty ass was wrong.”

He pauses shortly.

“When I brought this belt home to my family and friends.” he said “They all saw proof that where you start don't decide where you finish. I'm going to defend my championship because I still remember what it's like to have nothing, to look around and wonder if life was ever going to be bigger than my block.”

He looks at his championship with a sense of pride.

“Now that I got something.” he said “I ain't giving it away. So if you want to use your King for a Day powers to take a shot at the champ you best make sure you don't miss.”

He pauses for a beat.

“I don't think you're a bad guy Ryan.” he said “I actually think you're pretty cool and we could probably kick it at some point, but you chose to call me out so right now we got some business to handle and my business is keeping my people fed and this championship is bringing me bigger paychecks to help make that happen. I ain't about to let nothing take that away from them.”

He pauses again.

“So you can have your crown Ryan.” he said “But only one of us can walk out a champion. Your crown is only temporary,  but what I'm doing with this championship is going to last for a lifetime.”

He nods slowly before continuing.

“One show gave you authority.” he said “But life has giving me responsibility, and that may not be as flashy, there's no crown to go with it, no fancy speeches. Just long nights away from my family and lots of pressure. But pressure makes diamonds and so come Climax Control, we will find out if you picked me because you think you're the better man, or because somewhere deep down you thought I was the safer bet.”

He pauses.

"Because if it's the second one and it's going to be a rough night for you." he said "Because my whole life has been people underestimating me because I'm too young or I come from the wrong background, but I'm still here and now I have a championship. When I do lose this championship it will be because somebody was undeniably better than me on that night and if that turns out to be you I will shake your hand, but if it ain't you then all you did was waste your King for a Day.”

He turns to walk off but pauses once more.

“King….” he said “I think I'd rather call myself a pharaoh, because they also used to be called kings and history remembers which ones actually built something. I'll see you at Climax Control,...your majesty.”

He does sort of a mock bow to the camera with a cheeky grin on his face before walking off and everything fades out.

Supercard Archives / Kneel to No One
« on: April 30, 2026, 04:36:09 PM »
Universal Studios glows in the warm Osaka sun. Music drifts in the air as rides move in the distance. Zayvion and Cleo make their way through the crowd at an easy pace with no pressure in either of their postures.

Cleo watches Zayvion for a moment.

“You walkin’ like your head somewhere else.” she said.

“Just taking it all in.” he said looking over at her

“Good.“ she said.

Zayvion sensed some sort of intention behind it but let it go.

They continue to move deeper into the park. Zayvion's gaze shifted, catching all the different signs and colors before settling somewhere more specific. Cleo caught it instantly.

Super Nintendo World.

“I know you tryin’ to play it cool..” she said "But you ain't slick.”

“I didn't say nuthin’..” Zayvion said with a half smile.

“You ain't have to” Cleo said not in towards the big dream pipe “Let's go.”

“It's….LETSA GO!” Zayvion grinned doing his best Mario impression.

Cleo just rolled her eyes as she followed him into the green pipe, leading into Super Nintendo World.

The colors hit Zayvion first, gold coins spun overhead. Zayvion really felt like he had arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom.

“Man this is crazy..” he said with a smile “Malik would lose his mind in here.”

“Malik or you?”
said Cleo with a grin.

“Hey.. I'm easing into it.”
Zayvion smirked.

“Mmhmm.” said Cleo, shaking her head.

They drift deeper in and slip into one of the nearby shops Zayvion's eyes scanning the shelves filled with all the familiar characters from the series, his eyes finally setting on a remote control Mario Kart Toy.

“Yeah this is the one.” he said “It's Yoshi too, he's going to love it that's his favorite character.”

“Malik?” said Cleo.

“Yeah.”
he said “That's our game. We always try to get in some Mario Kart when I'm home.”

“He always beats you too.” Cleo grinned.

“Only because I let him." said Zayvion “That's just being a good big brother, it helps him build confidence.”

“Is that what you tell yourself?” said Cleo with a grin.

“That's my story and I'm sticking to it.” Zayvion grinned cheekily.

Cleo just shook her head with a smile as Zayvion set the toy into his hand basket.

“He talks crazy after too.” Zayvion continued, "I tell you that boy is going to be a promo machine one day, his trash talk is second to none.”

He grabbed a baby chew toy off the shelf, a red Mario mushroom that said -this will help me get big-.

“For Baby J.” he noted.

Cleo nodded.

He looked around a little bit more and shrugged.

“I got to look somewhere else for the girls.” he said “This place ain't really their speed.”

“Well we got a whole park.” she said “I'm sure you'll find something in one of the other sections.”

“Yeah..” he said “Saphira really likes the Minion movies, “So we should probably check the Minion World out. And we could probably find some nice jewelry or something for Kaelani and Big Mama.”

After making this purchase he and Cleo moved out of the Nintendo section back into the main park area, falling along with the movement of the crowd.

“You know, your energy is different now.” Cleo said.

“What do you mean?” he asked

“You're more….loose."  she said “Like your mind is just at ease.”

“I guess.” he said “It's not hard to do in a place like this,  but if I didn't know better I'd say you planned it this way."

“Maybe I did.” Cleo said “At least a little.”

Zayvion shot her a curious look.

“You've been working hard.” Cleo said “Keeping your focus on Logan Hunter and your championship match and I needed to make sure you weren't thinking about it too much because overthinking things can get you in trouble.”

Zayvion nodded.

“Sort of a free your mind type of deal.” he said.

‘Exactly.“ she said.

“Feels kind of weird though..” he said “Not sitting there thinking about the match every two seconds.”

“That's the point.” Cleo said “You ain't supposed to be carrying it with you everywhere you go.”

“Feels like I gotta though.” Zayvion admitted.

“Nah.” Cleo said “You just think you do.”

Zayvion let that sink in for a moment as they continued through the park, eventually finding their way to Minion Park.

“Now this is where Saphira would lose it..” he said. “Let's go see what we can find.”

“Lead the way youngblood.” said Cleo.

As they stepped into the bright chaos of Minion Park, Zayvion exhaled softly ,letting the thoughts of family take over letting his mind relax. He would be sure to find something here for each and every one of them and then when Into The Void came around he would defeat Logan Hunter and take home the Roulette Championship for himself.

_______

The cameras open on a city street where is Zayvion Lyons can be seen headphones on posted up on the side of a wall Cleo Phillips stands nearby also posted on a nearby streetlight, we get a close up of
Zayvion's face as a snippet of “I Can” by Nas is heard.

//I know I can
Be what I wanna be
If I work hard at it
I'll be where I wanna be
I know I can (I know I can)
Be what I wanna be (be what I wanna be)
If I work hard at it (If I work hard it)
I'll be where I wanna be (I'll be where I wanna be)\\

He lowers the headphones as the music fades out and looks up into the camera.

“You know Logan…” he said "You did say something that was true.  You mentioned Victoria, Vincent and Eddie have had an iron grip on things for far too long. That much I agree with because those three have had an iron grip on the family for far too long.”

He pauses.

“The golden trio as they're called sometimes around The Lyons Den." He said “All because they're the ones that grew up living in it. Because my father wanted to be a playboy and not accept responsibility for his children. I've got brothers and sisters that carry the name but never got the benefits. But guess what? We here now, and we finna take what we deserve, that's the Roulette Championship.”

He gives a confident nod to the camera.

“My hard work got me here.” he said “I stayed on my grind, and got here without being handed a key to the kingdom. So if you finna keep comparing me to my cousins, then you going to find out how different I am. Eddie's a great guy, Victoria's tenacious as hell, and Vincent can put fear in even the coldest of hearts, but without due respect they ain't built like me,  they ain't struggle through, what I struggled through.”

“You want to talk about me going to hell, Brooke?” said Cleo “Let me tell you something I've been to hell, and I survived it. Places I was locked up in, places you wouldn't survive. But if you want to find out what I had to do to survive hell, then involve your trick ass in this match and you'll find out that I got more than just a couple spears for your ass.”

“Which leaves you entirely in my hands Logan.” said Zayvion “And you'll find out how far comparing me to my cousins is going to get you. You need to stop worrying about Ryan Keys as well because he ain't your problem right now, but I sure as hell I am, and I bring a whole different type of party.”

“And you sure as hell ain't invited to the cookout.” Cleo chimed in.

“Oh for sure.” Zayvion agreed “Ain't no way you getting into one of our block parties. I mean Marissa seems cool, she could probably come kick it. But she's got to leave Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum at home.”

“Which one's which?” Cleo grinned.

“That's for them to figure out.” Zayvion shrugged. "All I'm focused on is taking that Roulette Championship back home to the states back home to the block so I can show everybody that there is a way out and hard work does pay off. I ain't just doing this for me Logan, I'm doing this for my people, for my family.”

He exhales heavily.

“I want to get my bag Logan.” Zayvion said “Me winning that championship means more money in that bag. Which means more money toward getting my family, my brothers and sisters into a better home. Make it so my little brother and sister Malik and Saphira can go to college. So little Baby J can have a future, so my teenage sister Kaelani can just enjoy being a teenager, and so Big Momma don't have to work no more. Things you can't understand Logan because you're selfish ass only thinks about yourself and your own needs.  I may carry the name, and have Lyons in my blood but that's not the family I'm fighting for.”

He pauses shortly.

“You need to understand that this ain't a game I'm playin.” said Zayvion “When that bell rings things are going to get real, for you very quickly. I promise you're about to lose that championship for a third time, and you can't do a damn thing about it.”

He pushes off the wall and begins a slow walk down the street with Cleo following shortly behind, like a shadow ready to jump in if needed.

“That's the thing about people like you Logan.” he continued as he walked “You're the type that always thinks they're the main character and that everything revolves around them. The funny thing is in your own story you're not even really the main character, Brooke is, you're nothing more than a player in her story.”

He shrugs.

“So keep talking about me like I'm another name on your list Logan.” he said “Like I'm just some Lyons cousin trying to step up and take a shot. Because what you don't understand is I'm not stepping up, I'm stepping through you.”

“Straight through.” Cleo ad-libbed.

“I ain't coming in there to prove nothing to nobody.” he said “I already proved everything I needed to by surviving long enough just to get here. What I'm coming for now is results,  and I'm going to get my results Into the Void.”

He exhales slightly as they round a corner.

“I don't care how tough you think you are Logan.” He said “You ain't ready for the pressure I'm about to bring. I'm built different, and I love breaking people who think they can step up to me and stop my grind.”

He laughs as if amused at the idea.

“You talk like this is just some other match for you.” he said “It's so much more than that for me this is my life because I got people depending on me, and I got to make something happen so they ain't stuck no more. You ain't never had that kind of pressure sitting on you every single day and that's why you're about to lose that championship. It has nothing to do with your talent, it's because you don't need it the way I do.”

He exhales heavily.

“People like me don't get these opportunities often.” he said calming his voice “So when they do, you don't hesitate or second guess and you sure as hell don't let somebody like you walk out holding what you need. So you can say whatever you want to help yourself sleep at night, but understand I've already made peace with what I gotta do to win and I'm not sure you have.”

He pauses, the duo continuing a casual stride.

“I'm going to come to fight like somebody that's got everything to lose.” he said “And that's not something you're ready for. You command me to kneel?”

He shakes his head and spits on the ground.

“I kneel to nobody.” he said “Certainly not you, what you have on your hands Is OPEN REBELLION, and it's a war you're completely unprepared for.”

“Bet.” said Cleo.

With one final confident nod to the camera to continue down the sidewalk the camera lingering on them until they're just out of distance and everything fades to black

___________

Everything around Zayvion Lyons keeps moving,  as it always has. But something in his rhythm has changed, nothing theatrical or forced. Something more internal, the kind of shift that doesn't announce itself but shows up in how a man shows up and performs when the pressure is on.

He carries a family name that opens doors and casts shadows at the same time.  Tied to a lineage that he didn't grow up inside of, but still finds himself measured against as if he's just another extension of something they already defined.

But the legacy has never been equally distributed and Zayvion has been one of the ones on the outside of the structure who had to force their way through the doors.

Ahead of him stands Logan Hunter and the Roulette Championship but that no longer feels like the only thing defining him, it just feels like the next key shift in his career.

This was about building something for himself and his family.  It was the type of weight that felt purposeful and that's what made it easy to carry.

Zayvion Lyons heads to Into The Void as someone who already has chosen what matters most, so when the bell finally rings Logan Hunter won't be facing a man drowning in expectation. He'll be facing a man who learned how to move without being buried by it.

The air was thick and humid as the sun hung high above the training grounds of Base Camp Hansen where Zayvion Lyons and Cleo stood before the military obstacle course. Long stretches of tires, climbing ropes, low crawl wires, the whole nine yards. All designed with one purpose, to break people down.

“How'd you even get us on a military base?” asked Zayvion

“I got a guy.” said Cleo.

“You really got a guy for everything don't you?”
grinned Zayvion “I bet if I needed worms you probably got a guy for that too.”

“Well unless you're trying to fishin’, you ain't gotta worry bout’ my worm guy.” said Cleo bluntly, “You're here to train, not ask questions.”

Zayvion nodded.

No nonsense, of course, he should have expected no less. This was crunch time. The next time he stepped into a Sin City Wrestling ring, it was going to be for a championship. Cleo didn't bring him here to train for the next season of Deadliest Catch, she brought him here to forge a champion.

Cleo pointed toward the course.

“Run it.” she ordered.

And like that, he was off. No warm up speeches, just action. He stepped into the first tire and it immediately swallowed his foot deeper than he expected. He yanked his foot free and stepped into the next, something still felt off.

“You're rushing.” he heard Cleo's voice call out “Focus. Don't be sloppy.”

Zayvion took in a breath and adjusted his pace, cleaner and more controlled. These tires weren't there to just slow him down, they were there to punish his mistakes, and every mistake he took would cost him rhythm, and when you were in the ring, rhythm meant everything.

Step.
Lift.
Step
.

He started to fall in place with his rhythm, the deeper he got into the stretch of tires the more he felt his mind get sharper. Every placement and movement had intent. There was no wasted motion, by the time he cleared the last tire he felt his chest tightening against the humid air as his breathing picked up but he didn't fold, he pushed forward towards the next obstacle.

The wall, tall and imposing as he approached it.

“Climb.” he heard Cleo call out like his own personal drill sergeant.

He let out a deep breath and just went for it, jumping up and grabbing hold of the rope. His muscles were already starting to protest as he began to climb but he kept going. Burn head about halfway up and he held himself there just for a moment.

“Don't.” he heard Cleo say

No pauses. Of course. Nobody was going to give him a pause in the ring. He continued to climb, each pull heavier than the last but that didn't stop him he dragged himself over the top and dropped down landing hard into the ground below, stumbling slightly.

As he looked forward ahead of him he saw the mud crawl.

“Down.” ordered Cleo.

“You ain't playing no games today are you?” he said.

“Down.” she repeated.

He didn't need to hear it a third time. He dropped to his stomach. The mud soaking into him instantly, the netting above him keeping him flat as he dragged his body inch by inch.

It was slow and grinding  every pull felt heavier and slower. It was like those moments when a match drags on and your momentum dies. The moments you have to fight just to keep moving.

He was halfway through when he felt a sudden heavy weight on his back. It was cold and thick. He flinched slightly has the mud poured over his shoulders holding him deeper to the ground his eyes caught just a glimpse of Cleo holding a bucket.

“Hey come on..” he said “That's not playin’ fair.”

“Does Logan Hunter fight fair?” she reminded him.

Fair enough. He couldn't argue that point, Logan was a tricky bastard and would take any opportunity he could, and turn it into an advantage.

He continued to push forward the extra weight dragging him down harder. This was the weight of having everything stacked against you at once.

“Keep going!” he heard Cleo call out “If you get stuck out there you think Logan's going to let you up?”

“No.” Zayvion huffed.

“Will he give you space?” said Cleo

“No.” Zayvion said again.

He grunted and forced himself forward another inch, he had to stay locked in. Keep moving forward that was the only way to reach his goal.

One inch
Then another.
Another one.

He didn't look back or say another word. He just kept dragging himself forward until finally he reached the end of the netting and dragged himself out from under, rolling onto his side breathing heavily as he stared up at the sky.

Then Cleo's face appeared standing over him.

“Get up.” she said

With a heavy breath he rose to his feet.

“You think we done?” she said

“Of course not.” he said

“Good.” she nodded. “See that track over there you go do laps until I tell you to stop.”

He didn't argue, he headed over toward the dirt track and after a slow breath began a brisk jog. His legs feeling heavier with every step, the sun continuing to blaze down upon him.

He just had to keep his rhythm as he moved around the track, and even when his body wanted to quit he had to push past even his own limits. He had gotten this far going through everything Cleo put him through, the abandoned pool, the radio tower and now this military style obstacle course.

He continued to run, not even bothering to count his laps. His focus was just to keep going, when Into The Void came around there was going to be absolutely nothing that could stand in his way of becoming the next SCW Roulette Champion.

__________

The cameras open on Zayvion Lyons, eyes closed with his familiar white Beats by Dre headphones on, Cleo stands casually nearby, as a snippet of “Lucky You” by Eminem feat. Joyner Lucas

//I ain't never had no trophy or no motherfuckin' ribbon (Yah I said it)
Fuck the system, I'm that n****, bend the law, cut the rules
I'm about to risk it all, I ain't got too much to lose
Y'all been eatin' long enough, it's my turn to cut the food
Pass the plate! Where my drink? This my day, lucky you
Fuck you too, woo!\\

Zayvion removes the headphones and looks up at the camera from his seat.

“So the time has finally come to put up or shut up." said Zayvion, “Are you really sure you're ready for what's coming for you Logan? Are you really sure? Because when I look at you I don't see someone who's ready, I see someone who might think they're ready but in reality you ain't”

He shakes his head.

“You know all I want to do a couple weeks ago was talk.” he said “Man to man. I never been involved in no heavy gang stuff like Cleo has, but I've been in my share of street fights. Where I come from, if you're going to fight a man you look them in the eye and you ask him one thing.”

“Sup’?” ad-libbed Cleo.

“Sup’.” Zayvion repeated. "They might say it back to you, you do some back and forth, then you lock eyes for a moment and you handle your business. But you do it face to face. You try to hide behind your girl where I come from  the whole block finna clown on you.”

“And on the subject of you Brooke.” Cleo chimed in “I'll remind you again that if your ratchet ass involves yourself, I'm a fuck you up. It's that simple you keep your triflin’ ass posted in your corner, and we good.  You involve yourself then it's going to be time for me to set it off.”

“You out here writing too many checks your ass can't cash Logan.”  he continued “You got involved in Carter's business now you got that boy pissed off but it ain't him you got to worry about right now. You got to worry about that boy that came from the block, you got to worry about Zayvion Lyons.”

He points to himself for further clarification.

“You comin’ in thinking it's just another match.” he continued “Another opportunity for you to run your mouth,  play your dumb little games and use your crusty ass ho’ to sneak out a win like you always do.”

He glanced over at Cleo.

“You know while she was putting me through hell…” Zayvion continued “Cleo reminded me of one thing, you ain't coming to play fair and that's fine. I'm not preparing for fair, I'm preparing for you. So when that bell rings and you try to take your shortcuts and hide behind whoever you got to hide behind, just understand I've already been through worse before I even stepped into that ring. My entire life has been people treating me unfairly, and I continue to stand here and fight.”

He steps away from the wall behind him closer to the camera.

“You haven't felt pressure.” he said “Not real pressure, real pressure is clawing your way out when you got people around you telling you ain't supposed to make it. I had teachers who told me I wasn't going to amount to anything.”

He exhales slightly.

“You can't out play me.” he said “Because I've been surviving my whole life and grinding before you even do what work was. Ain't nobody did nothing for me, I put in the work and I got myself here. I didn't hide behind nobody and I certainly don't let nobody else do my talking for me. I got my homies that'll back me up  but I still stand on my own business as a man.”

He pauses shortly.

“I don't see a man when I look at you.” he continued “That's just me being real.  I see a boy who thinks he's hot shit because he's lucked his way into a few championships. Championships he's never been able to defend, that trend ain't fixin’ to change at Into The Void.”

He keeps his tone firm and confident.

“Because this ain't about who got lucky and who slipped through the cracks one more time.” he said “This is about who's built for it and you ain't built like me. You ain't been through what I've been through,  you couldn't. You wouldn't survive if you had to fight like I had to fight.”

“Tell em.” Cleo chimed in.

“When the bell rings it's going to show.“ he said “You're going to try your tricks, look for your openings and hope Brooke will be able to bail you out like she always does. But this time she ain't going  to be able to save you because if she tries..”

“She already know. I ain't got to repeat myself.” Cleo said.

Zayvion nods with a shrug and grin.

“Well hopefully she's listenin’” Zayvion said “I hope you're listenin’ too Logan. Because when all your little plans fall apart and it's said and done and your shortcuts don't get you nowhere. When you're forced to watch me raise that championship high above my head, I hope you know that that ain't nobody's screwing you over. It's just me beating you.”

He steps closer to the camera.

“I told you from the jump this ain't your moment.” he said “It's mine. I earned my right to fight for that championship and I'm finna take it from you. You can make all the excuses you want after,  tell you whatever you need to so you can sleep at night but it ain't going to change nuthin’.”

He pauses.

“All that will remain is the truth.” he said “And the truth will be, you got outclassed plain and simple. No controversy, just a new champion. You go back to the drawing board, and I continue to the next stage of my career. You continue to involve yourself and other people's business and try to keep your name relevant, while I'll be making myself relevant as the new SCW Roulette Champion.”

He straightens up his posture.

“You're out here chasing moments.” he continued “I build em’, you look for ways around the grind, while I am the grind. Every step I took here was through hard work and dedication, and that championship you hold? It's just something you've been borrowin’ and I'm coming to collect.”

“He overdue.” Cleo chimed in.

“Long overdue.” Zayvion grinned. “This is going to be your reality check Logan and I hope it doesn't hit you too hard, but I promise you it's going to hit.

“Bet.” said Cleo

“I'll see you at Into The Void Logan." Zayvion said,  putting his headphones back up and leaning back against the wall, “Don't be late.”

The camera lingered on him for a moment locked in and ready before fading to black.

__________

The sun had begun to dip below the skyline of Osaka the warm air from the day still lingered about as Zayvion stood a few steps off the main flow of the street, alone.

No headphones, no Cleo, nobody ordering him to run it back or go again, just him. With a heavy breath healing slightly against the concrete wall looking up toward the skyline at the neon colors reflecting off the signs. Right now there was nothing trying to break him down.

So his mind did instead.

He thought about Logan, and the match and the championship and everything that had got him here. He knew that the narrative was that someone that came from where he came from wasn't supposed to be here. But here he was, ready to prove not just Logan, but all of his doubters wrong.

He pushed off the wall and started walking  unhurried through the streets, people passing by having conversations he didn't understand. He kept his eyes forward unsure of his destination, letting his thoughts stay with him.

He didn't come this far to question himself now whatever came next, he didn't need confidence anymore. He had confidence and he knew he was ready all he had to do was lock in and follow through.

“You've got everything you need.” he said to himself “You just got to go get it.”

He kept walking as the words settled in. It wasn't overconfidence, just confidence he knew exactly what type of person Logan was. shortcuts or not you don't become a champion three times by accident.

The fight wasn't going to be clean that much he knew was certain. But after everything he had been through to get here, it didn't matter and if he had to play dirty, then he would play dirty. Nothing was going to stand in his way of becoming the SCW Roulette Champion.

He didn't like the idea of playing dirty but Cleo's voice ringing his mind reminded him that Logan wasn't going to play fair so he shouldn't expect fair. All he had to be was simple, cold and effective.

He stopped for a moment and just beneath an overpass, just him in a place far from everything familiar. Standing in the space between where he came from what he was about to take.

“Into the Void...” he muttered. “Yeah…”

That's where it would happen. He would shut Logan Hunter down and the next chapter in the story Zayvion Lyons would begin.

He started walking again steadier, and ready to face whatever came next. There was no turning back now, he was completely locked in.

Climax Control Archives / Culture Shock
« on: April 17, 2026, 09:53:43 PM »
Music drifted across Tivoli Gardens, lanterns lighting the pathways as crowds wandered past speaking half a dozen different languages. Zayvion watched from a railing, resting his elbows on the metal, for a while he didn't say anything.

Cleo noticed, she always did.

“You're thinking hard again.” she said.

“Yeah..” he nodded in reply "It's just this whole tour is crazy, you know? I mean we started in Legoland,  California right next door to home. I took the family there, drove them back the same night and now look at this. It was just a couple shows ago, I was in my own backyard. Now I'm like ten gazillion miles away from Inglewood in a park that's older than my whole damn city.”

“Well I don't think it's quite that many miles.” Cleo chuckled. “But yeah I get it, I felt the same back in PWS when I went on my first Global tour, I realized everything was so much bigger than just New York.”

Zayvion nodded slowly.

“Yeah bigger..” he said looking back across the glowing lake resting inside Tivoli Gardens. “Back home it was just the same streets, same people, same spots. Now everything feels for the lack of a better term, foreign.”

“That's the job.” Cleo said. “I know it's a culture shock, but you'll get used to it. Just don't let it distract you from the bigger picture.”

The roulette championship in Logan Hunter not in Zayvion and I got to get through Liam Davis again this week, ironically he's the same guy I beat back when this whole tour started, but yet again it just feels different.”

“Because you're drawing closer to your championship match.” Cleo noted “This is the last stop before you get Logan.”

Zayvion nodded.

“Yeah..” he said. “Logan.”

“You know gotta whoop his ass, right?” she said “He was playin’ games with you, playin’ games with Carter. But you got to take that championship from him and show him that you ain't playin’.”

“I got this.” said Zayvion “Just please don't slap me like you did Victoria.”

Cleo laughed.

“Hey she needed some sense smacked into her, she's got a big opportunity too and whether she likes it or not it's representative of all of us.” she said.

“Well that's her fight.” he said “Logan is who I need to be concerned about.”

“You're not wrong about that.” said Cleo “And I got your back if that little trash bag hussy Brooke tries to get involved. Bet yo’ ass I got something more for her ass than just a spear this time.”

Zayvion widened his eyes that certainly didn't sound good for Brooke, but Cleo was her problem. He was going to be Logans.

“For real.” Cleo said “Don't lose focus.”

“I'm not.” he said “I guess maybe I was just hoping for more out of Logan. But I guess he's keen on letting his girl do the talking for him.”

“It be like that sometimes.” Cleo shrugged “ “You just got to show him what kind of man you are. When you get back to your family, you're going to go home a champion."

“Damn right.” said Zayvion

“Good.” Cleo replied.

“All this out here…” he said “It's just the world, “But in the ring it's about the fight, and when we get to Japan Logan will find out what the fight of me is all about and he won't be able to hide behind Brooke.”

“Don't get too ahead of yourself.” Cleo reminded him “You still got Liam to worry about.”

“I beat Liam back in Legoland.“ Zayvion said “It's not going to be any different here in Copenhagen. I'm going to get all the momentum I need by putting down Liam Davis once again “

“Bet.” nodded Cleo.

“I guess I just never thought about how weird it would be going on this world tour.” he said “The places, all the different languages. I mean I know a few Spanish words, but it's nothing like out here.

“You only know the dirty ones.” grinned Cleo

“Still know a few.” Zayvion grinned in return.

“Well you can call Logan every dirty word in the book and get the crowd to call him whatever you want.” Cleo said “But words ain't going to win you that championship.”

“I know…” said Zayvion “You ain't gotta worry about that. I figured him out when I called him out. When he let the Brooke do the talking for him,  I knew then it was a wrap. He ain't ready.”

“Well don't get too cocky.” Cleo said “Logan is a sneaky son of a bitch.”

“No doubt.” he said “But I'll be ready, I ain't come all the way to Japan to leave home with nothing. I'm going to do exactly what you said and bring my family home a championship.”

“That's the energy.” Cleo said “But first you handle business at Climax Control.”

“I got you.” said Zayvion “Liam Davis is going to be my warm up, nothing more. I got him once I know what he brings to the table and I ain't trying to overlook him but I ain't about to lose my momentum either.”

“Then go get it done.” said Cleo.

“I will." he said “Just watch me.”

The passersby by in the park were  taken in by all the sights,  the lights, the boats and everything Tivoli Gardens had to offer. Zayvion did as well, but the number one thing on his mind was the Roulette Championship and nobody, Liam Davis, Logan Hunter, none of them were going to stand in his way.

__________

Cameras open up on the close up of saving on Lyons with his headphones as music begins to play the sounds of riding dirty by Chamillionaire.

//They see me rollin'
They hatin'
Patrollin' and tryna catch me ridin' dirty
Tryna catch me ridin' dirty
Tryna catch me ridin' dirty\\

The music fades out as Zayvion looks up into the camera lowering his headphones.

“So we meet again Liam Davis..” he began “Last time I told you I had no choice but to beat you because you were a cop, and I got people that might look at me differently if I let a cop beat me. Now some of that still remains true, but now I need to do this for me.”

He pauses.

“It's about momentum.” he said “My momentum. I'm trying to make a statement to Logan Hunter before we get to Japan. You're just the unlucky bastard who stands in my way. I ain't trying to get too ahead of myself but it feels like I'm making some waves around here, and I need to put the cap on that by bringing a championship home when we get back to the states.”

He pauses shortly.

“Still banged up after that big parking lot brawl are you?” Zayvion asked “Doesn't matter to me, that's your problem to deal with. I'm going to whoop your ass just the same as I did back in Legoland. I just hope Logan Hunter is paying attention.”

He keeps his eyes locked on the camera.

“Are you paying attention Logan?” he said “Because I'm going to do to Liam what so many of his cop friends have been doing to my friends over the years and that's make him a victim, and then I'm going to go to Japan and I'm going to do even worse to you.  I'm going to make you a victim and I'm going to take that championship from you.”

His words come through firm and confident.

“The confidence I have right now.” he said “I just know there ain't nothing that's going to stop me from getting that championship. Whatever training Cleo has to put me through I'm going to do it. I promise you don't want to step in there with me right now.  Liam Davis, perhaps your best course of action is to… stand aside, officer.”

A cheeky grin appears on his face, lingering for a moment.

“But you won't..” he said “It's not in your nature, that's your whole thing as a cop right? Stand your ground and hold the line? I know how it goes. You're going to go in there thinking you're bringing order and keeping somebody like me in check.”

He waved a finger at the camera and shook his head.

“Ain't nobody checking me, you understand?” He said “Back in Legoland, you were the first test, and here in Copenhagen you're still a test, but the stakes are bigger because Logan Hunter is going to be watching and I need to send him a message so he knows exactly what's coming for him. He needs to know that Brooke isn't going to be able to save him. Nothing will stop what that boy got coming his way.”

He exhales, as he continues.

“See to me, this match is nothing more than a step backwards.” Zayvion said “And I don't like stepping back. I certainly don't like stepping back and failing. Zayvion Lyons is about moving forward, bottom line.”

He pauses again.

“Everything I've gone through in my life.” he said “All the struggles of just trying to survive. Being harassed by your friends just for how I look or how I dress. They've all led me here and I ain't looking to slow down they couldn't break me and you can't break me Liam, and neither will you when we get to Japan Logan.”

He pauses shortly again.

“I'm going to have my big moment at Into The Void.” he said “And nothing's going to slow me down, y'all can try but it ain't finna  happen. Zayvion Lyons is ready to run through anybody and everybody. I know what my last name is and I hope you all understand I'm no man of honor but I don't got my head completely up my ass either.  But if I have to fight fire with fire, I'll fight fire with fire.”

He exhales again.

“See I didn't get to where I'm at acting how people told me to, at least not all the time.” he said “I got here by surviving every person thinking they had me figured out. Those who thought I was another kid they could push around. All that did was make me harder to stop and I'm here and I'm on the verge of calling myself a champion, making everything I've fought for mean something and prove that it was all worth it.”

He keeps his confident gaze into the camera.

“I'm not going to assume no position or slow down for you at all Liam.” said Zayvion “There's nothing at all you're going to do to stop me, because at the end of the day, one things for sure officer.

He pauses.

“Right now…you're out of your jurisdiction.”

He nods confidently and puts his headphones back on has the music picks up again

//My music's so loud
I'm swangin'
They hopin' that they gon' catch me ridin' dirty
Tryna catch me ridin' dirty\\

Climax Control Archives / No Badge In My Ring, No Chains On My Future.
« on: March 20, 2026, 01:58:42 PM »
It was a warm sunny day in Inglewood California when Zayvion Lyons arrived at “The Spot” which was no more than a standard picnic bench in a local park where he and his friends often hung out at. Sin City Wrestling was doing the show from Legoland in Carlsbad this week which was only an hour and a half from home so he had plenty of time to visit before the tour moved elsewhere. Of course it was Bug who was the first to greet him, as usual.

“Future champ!” Bug said with a smile as he dabbed Zayvion up.

“Yo, Bug.” Zayvion replied “What's good?”

“Oh you know same ol’ same ol’.” Bug replied.

“Fo’ Sho.” Zayvion replied turning to his other friend Lorenzo “What about you Lo’? How you been?”

“You know me.” Lorenzo replied “Just keeping it real.”

“Heard you went to see Three.” Bug said “He said he was really happy to see you.”

“Yeah I wish he was here with us.” Zayvion said “The crew ain't complete without him.”

“Crew ain't complete without you.” interjected Lorenzo

Zayvion shot a look at Lorenzo.

“Come on dawg, you still on that?” he said. “You know I got nothing but love for all of y'all. I'm just out there trying to get my bag and represent. Don't act like I forgot y'all. I didn't just compare my opponents to y'all for a reason I wanted to shout you all out and show some love.”

“I'm just saying Three is going to be out in a few months.” Lorenzo said "Then you going to be the one missing from the group.”

“Like I said man I'm just out there trying to represent for all of us.” Zayvion said “Ya’ll always going to be my boys,  here check it out, I got y'all something.”

Zayvion reaches into his bag and pulls out two t-shirts, handing one to each of his friends. They look at them to see that they're a new Zayvion Lyons SCW t-shirt.

“These are still unreleased.“ he said “My first t-shirt. I wanted my friends and family to get the first run before they went on sale to the public.”

“Yo this shit kind of fly.” Bug said putting his on immediately.

“So this is just going to be about you?” then said Lorenzo. “You want us to parade your face around the hood?”

“Come on Lo’ why you trippin’?” said Zayvion “You know it ain't like that.”

“You called me a headache bro compared me to some little turd-faced gremlin looking dude.” said Lorenzo.

“Well you are a headache.” said Zayvion “But I also said you're the realest friend that we got, did you forget that part?”

“You want real?” said Lorenzo “What happens when you win that championship? Cause I know my boys going to win that belt, then you going to disappear forever.”

“You know it ain't like that.” said  Zayvion “Maybe I ain't around as much anymore, but that's life. I'm out there hustling. You think I want to stay trapped in the hood forever? I don't and you shouldn't either.  You should be trying to get out as well, with all the talent you got."

“What talents?” said Lorenzo “You're the talented one.”

“You're good with cars.” said Zayvion “You've learned a lot working at your uncle's shop and you're creative as hell. I've seen your tags, I bet you can run one hell of a custom shop.”

“You're just saying that.” said Lorenzo “Just trying to butter me up.”

“That's not it at all.”
said Zayvion “Did you even listen to what I said.”

"So now you're calling me stupid?" said Lorenzo

“Again. I didn't say that.” said Zayvion “Quit actin’ hard-headed.”

“You the one being hard-headed.” said Lorenzo

“Alright guys let's take it easy….” said
Bug trying to change the subject "Who they got you facing this week Zay?”

“Some dude named Liam Davis.” said Zayvion “He's like a cop or an ex-cop or something.”

That immediately made Lorenzo's eyebrow raise, his demeanor changing almost immediately.

“Holl’ up” Lorenzo said “You get to fight a cop this week?”

“Yeah, that's the short of it.” Zayvion nodded.

“You know you gotta stomp his ass out." said Lorenzo “For all of us. For the culture.”

“Man, I ain't trying to do all that.” said Zayvion “I'm just trying to gain momentum before my championship match.”

“But he's a cop.” Lorenzo insisted “You know how they be treatin’ us. You need to send a message.”

“This is my career.” said Zayvion “It's not the place to take a cultural or political stance.”

“You could just backhand him extra hard a couple times.” said Bug. “Lo’ sort of has a point.”

Zayvion sighed. He knew where they were both coming from. He remembered all the times the police had racially profiled against him. He didn't really like the idea, but still wanted to support his friends.

“I suppose I could toss in a couple extra stiff shots.” he shrugged with a grin.

“That's my boy.” said Lorenzo “Make sure you fry that bacon real good.”

“I'll do what I can.“ Zayvion replied with a slight laugh.

“Just don't lose.” said Bug “Most importantly focus on getting that dub.”

Zayvion nodded, getting the victory was his ultimate goal of course, but if it would make Lorenzo happy to see him smack Liam around a little bit he was willing to oblige. Even though Lorenzo was being difficult, he knew it came from a place of love and some worry that his people were leaving him and Lorenzo wasn't the type of person who liked to be alone.

“Hey, you really think I could run my own custom shop?” Lorenzo said

“Why not?” said Zayvion “You can do anything you set your mind to you just got to be willing to put into work.”

He meant all of it too and he wanted to see all of his friends find success and whatever they wanted. He wanted Bug to finish college and hopefully open that restaurant.  He wanted to see Lorenzo find something he loved and make something of it, and he wanted to see Three-Ball start making better choices in his life when he got out. For himself he just wanted to continue his rise in Sin City Wrestling and achieve his first milestone by capturing the Roulette Championship. For now though it was time to unwind and just relax with the boys.

__________

Being that Climax Control was so close to home and from an amusement park no less, Zayvion took the opportunity to take his entire family out to Legoland. All his siblings were there and Big Mama came along too. His younger brother Malik in particular was proud to be considered a VIP and proudly wore his Zayvion Lyons t-shirt. He had actually given his younger brother a shirt before he gave them to his friends making young eight year old Malik the first person ever to have a Zayvion Lyons t-shirt. Something his younger brother would boast about proudly.

“Everyone excited?” Zayvion asked as they entered the park.

“Yeah!” Malik said happily.

“You're wearing that shirt again?” said Saphira, their seven year old sister.

“It's my favorite!” said Malik about the Zayvion Lyons shirt he wore. “And I have one of the only ones.”

“I know.” said Saphira rolling her eyes “I have one too. I don't wear it everyday.”

“But I got the first one.” said Malik sticking his tongue out.

“Only because you're the biggest troublemaker.” Saphira said.

“Am not!” replied Malik

“You tried to jump off the couch and hit me with an elbow!” said Saphira

“It would have worked.” insisted Malik.

“It would have gotten you grounded.” said Kaelani.

At sixteen Kaelani had already fallen into the role of helping with the younger ones although Zayvion did what he could to make sure she didn't carry too much of that responsibility.

“You two behave.” she added

“I always behave.” Malik insisted

Zayvion snorted and laughed as the family walked through the park together, Zayvion pushed their baby brother in his stroller as they passed a massive dragon statue made of Legos.

“Da! Da!” Baby J pointed a tiny finger at the statue.

“You like that one huh little man?” said Zayvion “It's pretty big isn't it?”

Zayvion's  grandmother smiled at them warmly, as she watched the kids taking in everything around them.

“You sure you got all of them?” she asked Zayvion.

“Yeah, I got it Big Momma.” said Zayvion adjusting the diaper bag on his shoulder “Today you get to relax and enjoy yourself.”

His grandmother gave him a knowing look and a proud smile. They continued to walk throughout the park as the younger kids' eyes grew wide at all the bright colors and giant Lego sculptures.

“Look a roller coaster!” said Malik

Without further warning he started jogging towards it.

“Malik!!” Kaelani called after him

“Slow down Mal!” Zayvion yelled after him.

He caught up to his younger brother quickly before the kid could get too far ahead.

“You can't just run off like that.” he said placing a hand on Malik's shoulder “You got to stay with us.”

“But it's so cool.” said Malik pointing at the ride.

“I know.” Zayvion replied “But we'll get there. You got to be patient, we have all day.”

The rest of the family caught up a moment later.

“He always does that.” Saphira complained

Baby J giggled and reached out lightly tugging at Malik's shirt.

“Hey! Let go!” said Malik.

“He likes your shirt too.” said  Zayvion with a smile.

“Well of course he does.” said Malik “It's the champions shirt."

“I'm not the champion yet, little man.” Zayvion reminded him

“Yeah but you will be.” said Malik

Zayvion couldn't help but smile, these were the moments he lived for. The quiet moments away from the ring, the moments that reminded him why he pushed so hard inside it. It was so Malik and Saphira  could get all the opportunities they deserved. It was so Baby J could grow up with the best future possible. It was so Kaelani could have the chance to just be a teenager instead of feeling like she had to help raise everybody. Most of all Big Mama deserved the break. That tiny little woman with the ironic nickname had done more than enough and he had promised himself that one day she never have to worry about anything again, but for today all that mattered was time with family.

“Let's go first ride!”  said Zayvion clapping his hands.

“I get front seat!” said Malik sprinting ahead once again.

“Malik!!!” Kaelani groaned.

“I got him.” Zayvion laughed has he followed after him.

Some things would never change and Zayvion wouldn't have it any other way.

__________

The cameras open on the usual close-up of Zayvion Lyons wearing his headphones as music plays this time the familiar sounds of NWA's Fuck The Police.

For police, I'm sayin', "Fuck you, punk"
Readin' my rights and shit, it's all junk
Pullin' out a silly club, so you stand
With a fake-ass badge and a gun in your hand
But take off the gun so you can see what's up
And we'll go at it, punk, I'ma fuck you up

Zayvion lowers the headphones as the music fades and begins speaking to the camera.

“I'll be honest Liam.” he started “I didn't want to go this route, but the elephant in the room can't be ignored. The simple truth is I don't like you, and I don't like you because you're a cop. Is that fair? Probably not, but it's just the way it is.”

Zayvion shrugged.

“I've had a lot of experiences growing up that didn't exactly make me feel like the police were on my side.“ he said “Being watched in stores like I did something wrong just by walking in, being treated like a suspect before they even bothered to learn my name so when I hear someone say they're a cop, yeah my first instinct is not exactly to welcome them with open arms.”

He raises a hand slightly.

“But here's the thing, I'm not stupid Liam.” he continued “I know every cop ain't the same, I know there are good ones out there doing their job the right way. You might even be one of them. I don't know you personally so maybe you are, but the problem is I don't know you.”

He pauses.

“All I know is I come from a place where when police sirens showed up, it usually meant your day was about to get a whole lot worse.” he said “And that's why I need to beat you. Whether I like it or not, I got people that have expectations of me and I can't lose to a cop. I can't lose to you with them watching. I need to send a message and unfortunately you are going to be the recipient of said message. It's just the way it is.”

He shrugs.

“But that ain't all.” he continued “Because I'm also coming to gain momentum into my championship match.  I didn't earn that opportunity just to lose now.  I'm going to make sure that Ryan Keys and Logan Hunter both see what's coming for one of them next.”

He gave a confident not into the camera.

“That's what it's really about.” Zayvion said “It's about where I'm headed. I've been grinding week after week climbing my way up and I've earned every inch of spotlight I've been given. Now I get a shot at the SCW Roulette  Championship. You think I'm about to stumble now and lose my footing before the biggest opportunity of my career so far? Nah homie, this shit only the beginning.”

He smirks with confidence.

“Logan and Ryan both need to be aware of what's coming for them next after their championship match.” he said “Because the man they should be worried about is standing right here. The man they should be worried about is out here building momentum each and every week proving he belongs in that championship picture, and Liam you just happen to be next in that path.”

He steps closer to the camera.

“Once we step into that ring Liam, you're going to have no badge, no authority and no backup. Just you and me, and when that bell rings you're going to find out real quick that sometimes the guy you're trying to control, turns out to be the guy you can't stop." he said "I'm not just beating you this week, I'm using you to send a message. I'm going to make sure everybody's watching and that they understand one thing and that's that the Roulette Championship will be coming into the hands of Zayvion Lyons, and on a personal level I'm going to make sure you understand one thing.”

He pauses for a short moment.

“Fuck the police, and Zay said it with authority.” he grinned.

He kept his eyes confidently locked into the camera as everything faded out to black.

Supercard Archives / The Climb
« on: March 05, 2026, 06:33:59 AM »
Zayvion shielded his eyes from the sunlight as he looked up at the giant radio tower endlessly spearing into the sky. The structure stood in an empty field that Cleo had secured permission to use via her connections.

“I got to go all the way up there?” he said, still looking up at the tower. “It's pretty high….”

Cleo stepped in front of him with her arms folded.

“In a ladder match you don't think about how high it is.” She said “You don't think about who's underneath you trying to tip it over. You climb.”

He followed her to the base near the metal ladder system built into the side; it looked has unforgiving as it was intimidating.

“If you freeze up there…” she said “You fall."

Zayvion felt himself swallow heavily, as he reached out and grabbed the first rung. It felt cold and weathered. A reminder that this was not some gym machine bolted to the floor,  this was steel exposed to the weather, rising to an open sky with nothing to soften a fall.

“Remember you're not climbing a tower." she said “You're climbing toward opportunity. You master climbing this, a ladder is going to be child's play.”

He looked back at her and up the ladder once more.

“Climb.” She ordered.

He took in a deep breath and with an exhale he pulled himself up. The first few rungs were easy when the ground was still close enough that he could jump, that comforting thought quickly went away the higher he went, it wasn't long before he found himself high enough that jumping was no longer an option.

He wasn't even sure how high he was, maybe about fifteen feet, he could feel the wind pressing lightly on his back like it was testing him, but he kept focus on his pattern. Left hand, right foot, right hand, left foot.

“There you go, steady pace!” he could hear Cleo yell from below.

He made the mistake of looking down when he heard her, the field was already starting to shrink and he felt his stomach dip.

“You looking down?” he heard Cleo yell out to him

“Maybe!” he managed to yell back.

“What's down here?” she yelled back.

“Ground..” He yelled back.

“And what's at the top?” she called back.

He paused for a moment.

“Opportunity.” He yelled.

“So why are you studying the ground?”
came Cleo's voice again.

His jaw tightened and he forced his eyes upward again the steel looked like it stretched on forever, red and white beams cutting into the stratosphere with patience like it had all the time in the world.

“Climb!” he heard Cleo yell.

He had no other choice. He moved up another rung and then another he didn't worry about how high he was. He could feel metal vibrating faintly beneath his boots as just enough wind passed through the structure to make it hum slightly.

Eventually he was high enough where he couldn't hear Cleo anymore  which meant he had to be fifty feet or more. He wondered about the stability of this old tower. Somehow he could still hear Cleo's voice in his head as though she were right there next to him.

“You think the ladder is going to remain stable? Every single one of those guys is going to try to shake you off it.”

He had to keep going. Training Day with Cleo was no easy task but he understood she was trying to build a warrior and he wasn't about to let her down. If he fell now there would certainly be no Blaze of Glory in his future, only hospital beds and food sucked through a straw and that's if he was lucky.

But luck was for losers, and Zayvion was a winner.  His arms were burning and the wind started to feel thinner, but the top of the tower was closer than the bottom at this point.

He let that thought settle in he wasn't halfway anymore he was past it the wind picked up again pushing stronger against his ribs through the open lattice but he kept his grip. Left hand, right foot, right hand, left foot. The rhythm was slower, but still as steady.

He didn't rush, rushing it would get you sloppy and would get you thrown. He kept his footing, testing each rung before committing weight to it as he neared closer to the top platform.

Another round his biceps felt like they were tearing and his thighs were burning furiously but there was no stopping now he had to continue to climb another rung the top platform was just within reach.

This was where it mattered, this was where you either grabbed it or you didn't. He reached up high, grabbed a lip of the platform, hooked his fingers and pulled himself up, rolled onto the platform and just  laid there for a moment on his back, breathing heavily, staring up at the open sky. He had done it, and now he was just taking in how quiet it was up here.

Then he heard static and Cleo's voice.

“Zay? You there yet?”

That didn't make sense, how could he hear her from way up here.

“I'm not scraping your body off the ground, so you're either still climbing or you're up there.”

Then he saw it, the walkie-talkie.

Of course.

He grabbed it, pushed in the side button and spoke into it.

“Yo. Cleo? Yeah I made it.” he said into the speaker

“About time.” Cleo's voice came through.

“You try climbing this thing.” he said “It wasn't easy.”

“I know.” her voice came back instantly “Who do you think put the walkie-talkie up there?”

He hadn't even thought of that, and that just made his respect for Cleo grow even more.

“Damn you really climb this thing?” he said

“Yesterday.” she said “I wouldn't make you do anything I haven't done myself.”

“Respec’” he said.

“Now focus.” she shot back “You still have to get back down and bring me my walkie-talkie.”

He took a few moments to just enjoy the view, he had climbed this tower and at Blaze of Glory, he would climb the ladder, both figuratively and literally all the way to the Roulette championship and maybe one day even the World championship.

The descent forced him to face the height again, every rung reminding him how far he had come. As the ground crept closer inch by inch,  the fence line returned, then the car, and then  Cleo's silhouette looking up. Left hand, right foot, right hand, left foot. The same pattern that had worked for him on the way up when he finally dropped the last few feet and headed into grass he felt his legs slightly before he caught himself.

He looked up at the tower again all the way over the tiny platform he had stood on looked impossibly small, but it didn't feel impossible. Cleo stepped beside him and rested a hand on his shoulder pridefully. He had survived the warehouse, he had scaled the radio tower.  Now everything was in his hands, and he was going to grab it, and then prepare for whatever Cleo had ready to put him through for his championship journey.

__________

Zayvion start resting on a bench in a corner of the Lion's Den resting an ice pack on his shoulder, the heavy bag nearby slightly swayed where he left it after his last round.

His arm still burn from the climb the other day but he didn't let that stop him from getting in his own workout while Cleo went about her social worker business, something about a meeting she couldn't miss that left him on his own, or so he thought.

He only saw her shoes, as he felt the shadow come over him. He didn't have to look, he knew who it was, he looked up at Victoria meeting her in the eyes, the Bombshell Internet Championship was slung on her shoulder.

“No babysitter today?” she said.

“Very funny."  Zayvion said, unamused. “Cleo is busy today. Is there something you needed?”

“I want to talk to you about Blaze of Glory.” she said. "Your ladder match, you do plan on winning that right?”

“Well I certainly don't plan on losing..” Zayvion replied.

“Don't get smart with me.”
Victoria snapped back. “You do understand what this opportunity means?”

He stood up to meet her now.

“I know what it means for me.” he said.

“It's more than that.” she said “Another Lyons holding a championship in this company reminds everyone exactly who this family is.”

Zayvion chuckled.

“You think this is funny?” she said.

“Just interesting.” he replied

“Interesting?” she said

“You talk like the name is what carried me into that ladder match.” he said

“Without this family you wouldn't even have a contract.” she snarled

“You're probably right.” Zayvion admitted “The name got my foot in the door, but after that it hasn't done a damn thing for me. Just like it didn't before I stepped through.”

“You should watch how you speak about the family.” she hissed.

“No. You should listen,” he said, standing his ground.

“This should be good.” she said arrogantly.

“The Lyon's Den is supposed to be about building fighters.” he said “But not everybody here gets the same start.”

Victoria rolled her eyes and scoffed.

“It's the truth.” he said “Let's check the facts.”

“You had the name.”

He held up a finger.

“Vincent had the name.”

He held up a second finger.

“Even Eddie had the name.”

He held up a third finger.

“You all walked in with the doors already open.” he continued “And that's great for the three of you. But me? Alexander? The rest of our siblings coming through here?”

He let that hang for a moment.

“We didn't get that luxury.” he said “We had to fight harder just to prove that we deserve the same damn shot, even though we carried the same damn name. You all had your whole life preparing and training for this, we had to find our way.”

Victoria didn't respond.

“And if you want to get really real.” he continued, "The most successful talent coming out of this place in the last few years isn't even a Lyons.”

Victoria's expression soured.

“It's Cleo.” he said “And if you think I'm wrong let me ask you this, how many world championships have you won? How many halls of fame are you in? What about Vincent? Even Eddie doesn't have those accolades yet. But Cleo does, and she earned them by fighting for what she believed in and fighting for herself. She didn't need a last name to do it, and neither do I. You want me to bring a championship to this family name? Fine, I will. But understand I'm doing it for me, not the family.”

“Like it or not.” she said pointing the finger at his chest "You wear the name and that means something. Don't be a stubborn idiot like your brother.”

“Why Alexander gotta catch strays?” he said “He ain't did nuthin’, you need to stop worrying about us and worry about defending that championship of yours, because from what Zander tells me, Calaway is more dangerous than ever. You wouldn't want to end up in a position where I'm the one with the championship and you're not.”

He smirked in her face just to show how little of a fuck he really did give. This was his fight and he wasn't going to let any of Victoria's bullshit fly.

“You have some nerve.” she said "I'm going to handle Alexandra Calaway like I have every other time. Don't you worry about that. If anything you can tell that brother of yours to pay his final respects to his dear friend.”

“I suppose we'll have to see what happens.” he said.

“I suppose we will.” she said.

For a moment they both stared daggers at each other, but Zayvion didn't back down.  It wasn't until Victoria heard Darian call to her that she finally left.

Zayvion sat back down and returned the ice pack to his shoulder.

“Blaze of Glory..” he muttered to himself

Victoria wanted another Lyons champion. The family wanted its legacy and  the company wanted its highlights. But Zayvion wasn't doing it for any of them,  he was doing it because he had fought too damn hard to stop climbing now. This was his moment and he wasn't going to let anything stop him from grabbing it.

__________

The cameras open on a close up of Zayvion with his eyes closed and his headphones on.  The sounds of Rise by GWANE, Crypt and Chvse plays softly.

##People died try'na get close
Who's willin' to climb, until they let go?
One in a million, 'fore 'em to really blow
The rest of y'all, just fadin', like an echo##

As the song fades out Zayvion lowers the headphones and opens his eyes. The cameras pull back to find him posted against the wall of a warehouse with Cleo standing nearby at her own post.

“So it's almost time for the big day boys.” he begins “Only one of us can grab that briefcase and secure a future championship match for ourselves. We all have a chance to show that one of us wants to be the next up, and I ain't finna let any of you stop me from getting my bag.  I don't care how big, rich, or pretty you are. I certainly ain't none of those things, but I am going to be the one that grabs that briefcase.”

He keeps a look of confidence but not arrogance on his face.

“I really must have scrambled Ol’ Billy B's brains a few weeks back.” he continued “Because he talked about me like he was going to crush me as if I didn't whoop his big sorry ass six ways till Sunday when I walked in this company.”

“Tell em’”
adlibbed Cleo.

“If you need to remind you of exactly what happened.” Zayvion continued “I'll gladly give you a repeat ass whooping. Throw your weight around all you want and brag about all your accomplishments because while you're busy bragging about what you once were, I'm going to be out there accomplishing what I'm going to be.”

“And Bea sweetheart..” Cleo stepped “I come from the streets in New York city so I may not be Straight Outta Compton but if you try anything funny I will introduce you to the strength of street knowledge, and Carleigh that goes the same for your trifling ass too. Neither of ya'll y'all want to catch me in a New York State of Mind.”

Zayvion laughed before he spoke again.

“What about that so called man of yours Carleigh?” he said “You know, at least Bill Barnhart has some accomplishments to his name. But Brayden has yet to do anything other than prove that he's just some nepo baby. He couldn't even grace us with his kind words. You know what though Brayden? Maybe the best thing for you is to just keep quiet and accept the ass whooping that's coming your way. Don't make things worse for yourself G’.”

He smirked into the camera.

“That brings me to you Ciaran.” he said with a more respectful tone. "You know you talked about respect, and how you badly you want this and you know what I fuck with it. But you have to understand you ain't the only one. I'm in this bitch too and I feel the exact same way. So if you're up there trying to grab that briefcase, I'm meeting yo’ ass up there and dragging yo’ ass down.”

He grinned, and winked at the camera

“I've seen this boy dunk….” Cleo adlibbed “He might not even need the ladder.”

“Well let's not get too carried away…” Zayvion laughed. “ I just want Ciaran to understand that there's another that wants it just as bad as he does, so all we can do is go out there and show them exactly who the future of SCW is going to be. We can show them that maybe one day Zayvion Lyons versus Ciaran O’ Doyle for the world championship can headline a live event. This is my live event debut as well, Ciaran, and I fully intend on making an impact.”

He exhales before continuing.

“I'm going to have to beat The Good, The Bad and The Ugly at Blaze of Glory to walk out as the new number one Contender for the Roulette Championship.” He continued “I'll let you figure out which is which.”

“I think I got it..” chimed in Cleo. “Bills the ugly, Brayden is the bad  and Ciaran is the good.”

“And circle gets the square.” said Zayvion “But you didn't have to go and ruin all the fun.”

“My bad.”
shrugged Cleo.

“No worries.” said Zayvion “Because what really matters is what I'm going to be. You three can be The Good The Bad and The Ugly, but I'm going to be the number one contender for the Roulette Championship.”

He pauses for a beat.

“I'm damn sure you none of you have gone through what I've gone through to prepare for this. “ he said “Hours of intense training sleepless nights all because I want my moment and I refuse to let my hard work be for nothing.  I came here to make a name out of myself and get my bag, and I'm not about to waste no time doing it. This is my moment.”

He pauses again shortly.

“Only one of us will be able to climb and move our career to the next level.” said Zayvion “Bill can bring all the power he wants. I overcame that once and I'll do it again. Brayden is going to have to step up his game and really show that he's not more than just a nepo baby who doesn't really belong here. Ciaran has all the confidence and fire in the world and I know he's going to be a problem for me, but at the end of the day I will solve that problem and unfortunately with all due respect Ciaran O'Doyle is going to have to wait another day for his moment. At Blaze of Glory the Flyin’ Lyon will soar the highest.”

“Bet.” said Cleo.

The cameras stayed and focused on Zayvion keeping his look of confidence at the camera as everything slowly faded to black.

Your first career loss can be a tough pill to swallow, but it can also be helpful and even motivate you. Zayvion Lyons found himself still trying to swallow said pill, but Cleo Phillips was there to get his mind back on track.

“Look, if you ask me you're still a winner.” said Cleo.

Zayvion looked up at her.

“I let you down.” he said “All that training, and I didn't beat Alex Jones and gain the momentum I wanted for Blaze of Glory.”

“That's cap.“ Cleo said “You ain't let nobody down you went out there you gave it your all and you know what? Alex Jones had to cheat to beat you.”

Zayvion nodded as a faint smile creeped on his face.

“Yeah there it is.” said Cleo “You know it's the truth. You pushed Alex Jones to his limit,  to the point that he had to resort to a cheap trick just to beat you. If anything your loss is on me.”

“How's that?” said Zayvion raising an eyebrow.

“I'm your manager." said Cleo. "I'm supposed to be the one out there catching that sort of thing. I should have been right there to knock his fat foot off the ropes for you.”

"Ah, you can't blame yourself for that.” said Zayvion “The only reason I came as close as I did to beating him is because of everything you've taught me.”

“Be that as it may." said Cleo “People are watching you now, closer than ever. So you got to refocus yourself, don't worry about Alex Jones and worry about the three motherfuckers ahead of you.”

Cleo stepped closer, lowering her voice as she continued.

“Bill Barnhart, Brayden Williams, and Ciaran Doyle.” she said, raising a finger for each one “Three different problems in the same ring, but all you need is one solution.”

Zayvion leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees.

“Bills the power game…" he muttered “He's going to try to keep me grounded but I've solved him before.”

“Exactly..” Cleo replied “He's going to try to slow you down. You already know you can't out muscle Bill Barnhart, you have to out move him and make him blow his gas tank while you're already halfway up the ladder.”

Zayvion nodded the gears began to turn in his head.

“There's still Brayden Williams and Ciaran Doyle.” he said.

“Brayden Williams is the clout chaser of the century.” Cleo said, rolling her eyes. “He's going to go out there and try to create highlight reels and viral moments. So let him while he's distracted trying to create a viral moment you'll be busy actually winning the match.”

“And Ciaran?" Zayvion asked.

“He's the one you have to watch out for if you ask me.” Cleo said. “He's got that hunger about him as well, so you need to show him that you're all business as well and that this is your moment, not his, when you smack him in his pretty little mouth.”

Zayvion laughs.

“Pretty little mouth?” he grinned “You've been waiting to say that one, haven't you.”

“Don't change the subject.” Said Cleo “Ciaran's the one who's gonna give you the biggest problem. Don't let his stripper past and pretty looks fool you. He's a nice enough guy but this match isn't the time to play nice.”

Zayvion nodded as he continued to listen to Cleo's words.

"You're faster than Bill, smarter than Brayden, and hungrier than Ciaran.” said Cleo “They all bring something to the table, but none of them bring everything. So you need to control the pace, you dictate when it speeds up, you dictate when the ladders come into play. Make this match yours.”

Zayvion let the thoughts rummage around in his brain before speaking again.

“If Bill wants to slow it down….” he said “I don't engage, I make him chase.”

“Exactly.” said Cleo “You burn the big man out and you outlast him.”

“And Brayden better not worry about who's watching.”
he said “He better be concerned about who's right there in front of him, one who's ready to kick his head in if that's what it takes.”

“And Ciaran?” piqued Cleo

“He's the one that's going to be the toughest to solve.” said Zayvion “Because I feel like he's just as focused on the end goal as I am. He's not coming there to show off, he's coming in there to win which means I can't coast, even for a second.  Bill and Brayden I can predict their distractions, but Ciaran I have to treat everything he does like it matters because it does.”

Cleo didn't say anything, she just let Zayvion continue his thoughts.

“You know what's real wild Cleo?” he said “If you had told me a few months ago that I was going to be in a match with this kind of opportunity on the line, all I would be thinking about is how not to mess it up. And now? Now I'm thinking about how I'm going to take it from the three of them.”

“That's called growth.” Cleo noted

“It's not really about them though.” he said after a moment “It's about me staying locked in on the opportunity. There's going to be a moment where everybody's down,  and out of position and the match is just waiting for somebody to take it. I don't want to just be the guy reacting to that moment, I want to be the reason it happens.”

“Now that sounds like a contender.” said Cleo “You're not waiting for openings, you're creating them.”

Zayvion lets the words hang in the room around them.

“That's how I win this.” he said with a nod "It's not going to be about me improvising when it goes sideways because I'm going to set the pace,  and I'm going to know what comes next, and the three of them are going to follow me.”

“Exactly.” Cleo said leaning in closer to him “You're in this to define yourself.” Every second you stay in control, you're sending a message that you're not just there, you're there to win.”

Zayvion nodded, he was beginning to picture it in his mind, the crowd, the lights and himself in the center of it all. Calm focused and in control. This was about moving forward to the next step in becoming a champion and he was ready.

__________

As he waited in the visitor room of the county jail, Zayvion thought about the memories of him and his crew when they were younger. The memories and the loyalty that you couldn't buy. The way life was just so much simpler then. Now the four of them were growing older and life was pulling them in different directions.

He waved at Three-Ball when he saw him sitting at the table as he entered the visitors room. As soon as Three-Ball saw Zayvion,  a huge smile appeared on his face.

“Yo Zay.” He said “Long time no see big dawg!”

“Three! How you been man?” said Zayvion as the two embraced.

“Ah, could be better..” said Three-Ball motioning around.

“Yeah..” said Zayvion with a nod as they took a seat, “Suspended license, DUI, what were you thinking man?”

“I wasn't.” said Three-Ball with a shrug, “But we don't got to talk about my stupid mistakes. I want to hear more about you. I hear you're a big superstar wrestler now.”

“Superstar might be pushing it.” said Zayvion.

“Well the guys say you're out there killing it.” said Three-Ball “I remember you always had that focus. Even as a kid you were always the one trying to plan everything out while the rest of us just wanted to run wild.”

“Yeah back then we were planning on how to steal sodas and snacks from the corner store.” laughed Zayvion.

“Those were the days.” said Three-ball with a laugh of his own. “You remember when we tried to start that basketball league with some of the other kids on the block? We used that old court at the park that didn't even have a net on the hoop. You did everything you could to make it feel real, schedules kept score and rankings even made his jerseys out of old t-shirts.”

“Yea..” said Zayvion with a smile “That was a mess at first. A lot of kids didn't even show up some days, and a lot of them tried to cheat. But I just made adjustments and kept trying to push until it made sense because I wanted it to work so bad.”

“That's what I'm saying man.”
nodded Three-Ball “You were always the one keeping the chaos in check. While the rest of us were playing games, you were thinking. And you got that same energy about you now.”

Zayvion let the words sink in.  That summer had taught him a whole lot without him even realizing it. He learned how to manage what he could control, and how to plan when things became unpredictable. He learned how to stay calm while the rest of the world was running wild, not reacting to what happened, but controlling what he could.

“I try..” said Zayvion “I try to bring that same principle into the ring . Stay locked in, forget my next move and control the situation instead of letting it control me.”

“That's why you’ve always been different Zay.”
Three-Ball said, “Always thinking two steps ahead while the rest of us we're just trying not to get caught.“

“It's not about being different." said Zayvion “It's about taking ownership. Even back then we had a broke down court, and no net. But I wanted it to work and control what I could control. In the ring it's the same thing. I control my mindset, I control the pacing and that's how I make the most of the opportunities in front of me.”

“That's some real shit.” said Three-Ball

“You know I can't be nothing but real.” said Zayvion

“Well hey next time you come visit, you better be a champion.” said Three-Ball with a grin

“I hope so.” said Zayvion.

The two friends continued to chat about memories, finding the time get away from them until one of the guards signal that it was time and called Three-Ball back to his pod. As Zayvion walked out the visitor room the memories of that old sun beaten court, the crooked hoop and the hand-drawn t-shirts he made into jerseys stayed with him. A reminder that no matter the chaos or the uncertainty he knew how to take control and shape the moment. It was that focus and mindset that had always pushed him forward in life, and now weeks before his biggest opportunity yet he had become sharper than ever before.

_________

The cameras open up on a close up shot of Savion lions wearing large headphones, he holds up an old polaroid of four young boys sitting on a park bench together as the sounds of Growing Pains by Ludacris play.

#We were trying so hard
Hard to survive
Because even though we were young
We had to stay strong
No matter what we went through
It was me and my crew
And that's how it went
When we were kids.#

As the music fades out Zayvion sets down the photo, and lowers the headphones, the camera zooms out to get a more full shot of him. He's dressed in a classic urban style, shades resting on the top of his head, posted up against a chain link fence as he begins to address the cameras. His posture is calm and  relaxed but there's an unmistakable fire in his eyes.

“Growing up you always need a crew.” he began “There's people you grow with and learn from. That's what it was like for me and my boys. Bug, Lorenzo and Three-Ball. I always thought four was the magic number for the perfect crew and the four of us still remain tight to this day.”

He pauses for a moment letting his mind reminisce.

“Now we're all grown and just trying to find a way in this crazy world.” he said. “Things I
learned growing up from my crew and just life in general, and other lessons I learned from Cleo are what I'm going to be bringing to this ladder match. Speaking of Cleo, she's  away on business at the moment. So I thought I'd take the time for y'all just to hear from me. Because at the end of the day this ain't the Cleo Phillips story, you can search the annals of PWS for that. This is the Zayvion Lyons story.”

He pauses for a moment.

“Crazy thing is, my opponents at Blaze of Glory each kind of remind me of my crew in a way.” Zayvion continued ‘"Take Brayden Williams for instance, he reminds me of my boy Lorenzo or Lo’ as we sometimes call him.”

He pauses again.

“Don't get me wrong, Lo’ is one of the realest friends you can have, sometimes too real, the type of dude who will stab a fool for messin' with one of his boys. " said Zayvion “But we all got that friend that gives you a headache, and for us it's Lorenzo. He was always our loudest friend, always trying to be the center of attention. Sound familiar Brayden? Because while you're out there looking for your moment trying to get everybody to look at Brayden Williams I'm out there focused on winning, making something of myself and trying to get myself on a road to become a champion.”

He readjusts his shades and exhales slightly as he continues.

“And Bill you got that Three-Ball energy.” said Zayvion “Always with the power plays. Strong and confident but always constantly falling into the same stuck position. You had the honor of giving me my first match in Sin City wrestling as you did for many others before and just like every single one of them I beat you. I'm coming even harder this time because there's so much more on the line. So if you can't step your game up, then you need to step down and get out of my way, because I'm coming for that top spot and I won't let some Neanderthal like you stop me.”

He pauses again to catch his breath.

“And of course there's Ciaran.” Zayvion continued “You remind me a bit of my boy Bug. You've got a lot of heart and you just got a good soul about you. Bug was always the heart of our group and the glue that kept us together. I know you have a good heart Ciaran, but you're going to need more than just heart if you think you're going to be winning this match. You're going to need grit, you're going to need to dig deep down and find more within yourself.”

He steps away from the fence keeping his eyes locked on the camera as he steps closer to it.

“And don't any of you get it twisted.” he continued lowering his voice “This ain't me disrespecting my crew. That's my family, that's my foundation. They are the reason I know how to read people the way I do, because when you grow up in a crew you learn how to move around different energies. You learn who you can run with and who you got to outpace.”

A small smirk crosses his face.

“At Blaze of Glory it's going to come down to who best understands the moment when everything gets chaotic.” he continued “And I grew up in chaos. When we were kids we didn't have perfect conditions, our basketball courts didn't have nets, the lights didn't always come on at night, the ball was slightly flat half the time, but we still played like it was game seven.”

He pauses for a beat.

“That taught me something.” he said “It taught me that you can't wait for the situation to be perfect, you have to make it work anyway. When everything breaks down I'm going to be the one who stays composed and see the opening before it's even there.”

Another beat.

“So keep looking for that moment Brayden.” said Zayvion “Because all you're going to do is keep looking, you're never going to find it at least not at my expense. You've got a family name like I do, but unlike you I'm not coasting off mine. I'm sure you like to party like I do. Well maybe not like I do, I prefer the block party with the boys, your type of party just isn't for me. No Diddy.”

He grins at the camera.

“You can keep trying to fee-fi-fo-fum your way through this Bill.” said Zayvion “But you're not going to be able to slow me down.  I'm going straight to the top and you're going to be stuck in your same position as the proverbial welcoming mat of SCW that everyone wipes their feet on.”

He pauses shortly.

“And you can bring all your smiles and charm Ciaran.” said Zayvion “But you have to look at this more than just a performance, and for Christ's sake, please keep your pants on. We don't need to have you getting flashbacks to your Magic Mike days.”

He chuckles to himself.

“I proved I belong here when I stood toe to toe with Alex Jones." said Zayvion “And the only reason he beat me is because he had to take a shortcut and he damn well knows it. I appreciate him giving me my flowers but if he really wanted to show me respect he would have beat me like a man.”

A soft exhale.

“I proved I belong here.” he continued “Now I prove I can become a champion. Now I prove that every growing pain I went through was building towards this. This is just another test for me and I've been passing tests like this my whole life all those nights with my crew and I didn't know how things were going to turn out we didn't know if we were going to win some basketball game or who was watching us from the sidelines, but we played anyway and that's the energy I bring to SCW and the energy I'm bringing to Blaze of Glory.”

He keeps his eyes locked on the lens.

“I'm not looking to be anybody's stepping stone.” he said “I'm going to be the guy stepping over each and every one of you. I'm going to be the guy climbing that ladder, and I'm going to be the guy that goes on to become the next SCW Roulette Champion. It's time for the Zayvion Lyons prologue to end and for the real story to begin. At Blaze of Glory I'm the one who walks out with the future.”

His eyes stay locked on the camera focused and ready as it fades to black.

Climax Control Archives / Forging A Champion
« on: February 20, 2026, 09:55:32 PM »
The old warehouse was cold and dark when Zayvion stepped into it. He wasn't sure why Cleo had him come here, but given some of the surroundings the dots were starting to connect.

A collection of large spare tires of various sizes, lay in a corner, a climbing rope hung from the rafters, and an empty pool took up a good quarter of the room. Zayvion still had little time to take it all in before he was nearly blinded by a giant spotlight illuminating the area.

“Hello?” he called out using his hand to shield his eyes.

“In order to build a champion.” came the voice of Cleo “One must let go of their comforts.”

“Cleo?” he called out looking around his eyes now adjusting “Is that you? What's going on? What is this?”

“One has grown too attached to the pampered training Of The Lyons Den.“ Cleo's voice echoed throughout the warehouse once more.

“Is this some sort of weird initiation?” said Zayvion “Come on, where you at? Stop playin’ with me.”

He suddenly heard her voice come from right behind him.

“Ain't nobody playing with you.” she said "It's about to get real.”

Zayvion turned around slightly startled to meet Cleo face to face.

“Sup?” he said.

Cleo remained still and serious.

“You ready?” she asked.

“I don't even know what we're doi…” Zayvion began, getting interrupted by a hard slap to the face.

“That's not what I asked.” Cleo said “I asked if you were ready.”

Zayvion rubbed his face.

“What was that?!?” he said “I just want to know what…”

Another slap, this time harder.

“It's a yes or no type of question.” Cleo said “Are you ready?”

When he looked back at Cleo again,  she had the most serious look in her eyes he had ever seen. He knew she wasn't playing around and whatever she had planned for him, he just had to go for it and learn to face the unexpected.

Learn to face the unexpected….

Maybe that was the point….

Cleo had never let him astray before and he knew she had the best intentions for him.

“Yes.” He said “I'm ready.”

He was only slightly frightened by the way Cleo smiled and laughed in response.

“Good.” she said “Go grab a tire and start flipping it. A big one.”

“For how long?” Zayvion asked

“Until I tell you to stop.“
Cleo replied

“So you want me to just keep flipping the tire over and over?” he said.

“I want you to stop asking questions.” Cleo replied sternly

Zayvion received the message loud and clear and walked over to grab a tire and started to roll it toward the center of the warehouse before Cleo yelled at him.

“No.” she said “Carry it.”

He nodded and lifted up the tire, which was a good deal heavier than it looked and carried it back to the center of the warehouse dropping it to the floor with a thud.

“Go.” said Cleo as she stood observing like some sort of urban Mr Miyagi.

Zayvion knelt down and placed his hands on the cold rubber of the tire, and with a heavy grunt he heaved it up and forward, the sound echoing through the warehouse as the tire hit the concrete.

He looked over at Cleo who said nothing, only watched him with stern eyes as he bent down and flipped over the tire once again.

again

again

again

and again.

Over and over Zayvion flipped the tire, his arms growing more and more tired each time the slam echoed throughout the warehouse. He didn't know how many times he had flipped that goddamn tired by the time he heard Cleo's Voice once again
.

“Stop.” She said  “Good work, are you ready to move on?”

“You think I can get some water real quick first?” ask Davion.

Cleo nodded.

“All right, cool you got a cooler or something around here?” asked Zayvion between breaths.

Cleo smiled and pointed upward near where the rope was tied at the top of the rafters, also sat a cooler resting on the beams.

“You've got to be kidding me..” said Zayvion “You expect me to climb the rope, and retrieve the water bottles out the cooler.?”

“You catch on quick.” said Cleo.

“Can I at least rest my arms for a second?” He asked “They're a little tired….”

“Oh are they?” said Cleo sarcastically, "Do you think Alex Jones cares if your arms are tired? You want water, go get it.”

“Man, you different for this.” said Zayvion with a heavy exhale, as he tugged on the rope. It was sturdy, not that he expected it not to be.

The ascent began has he climbed upward, pulling himself up on more willpower than actual strength. His arms were throbbing but he couldn't give up.

“Come on let's go!" he could hear Cleo yell as he got about halfway up the rope “You want that water you have to fight for it.”

That's when it dawned on him this wasn't just about him getting water bottles, they were a metaphor for the roulette championship and the climb he was going to have to go through if he was going to be able to earn the right to call himself champion.

“Legs!” Cleo called out “Use your legs!”

He adjusted wrapping his legs tighter around the road using his feet to push him upward which honestly only helped a little but it was enough to get him all the way to the top, to hook one arm around a beam for balance, grab a few water bottles and shove them into his waistband.

He had to slide most of the way back down his hands burning from the friction but his feet finally hit the concrete where he lied at a heavy exhale and immediately took a big drink of water and dumped some over his head.

For a brief moment there was peace, and he almost felt relaxed then came close voice again.

“I hope you enjoyed that..” she said “Because we're not finished.”

Zayvion looked up at her with a heavy exhale and eyes that said what next?.

Cleo pointed over to the stack of tires.

“Grab a tire and do laps around the pool.” she said.

“It's kind of narrow..” Zayvion said “What if I fall in?”

“Oh. don't fall in.” Cleo said bluntly.

That comment felt more like an order rather than a safety warning, Zayvion made his way over to the collection of tires and picked up one of the regular smaller ones,  hoisting it under his arm and onto his shoulder. It was lighter than the tire he flipped but more suited for carrying such a fashion.  Although, after what he had already gone through, a bicycle tire would have felt like an anvil.

He could already feel the weight of the tire halfway through the first lap weighing on him like a second spine that wasn't supposed to be there, but he had to push forward. Cleo was testing them and as hard as it was he damn sure was going to pass the test.

He continued pace as the first lap turned into the second he felt his foot skitter across the edge and had to wave his arms that regain his balance and continue pushing forward into lap number three

“Focus!” he could hear Cleo call to him.

As lap three turned into four he could feel himself getting a good rhythm everything still hurt but he was starting to get used to it now

And then the lights went out.

“Hey, c'mon!!” he called out “Are you trying to kill me before I even get to Blaze of Glory?

“No.” he heard the voice of Cleo reply back “I'm trying to make sure there's nothing that can.”

Of course. It made sense though. Being the roulette champion meant chaos, and if he ever hoped to hold that championship, he would have to learn to deal with the chaos and the random nature of the wheel. Who knows he might even have to wrestle somebody in the dark in the future should the wheel command it.

He continued forward through the darkness using only instinct to find his way as the third lap rounded off into a fourth and he narrowly missed the same spot he had slipped before.

“If you want to throw in the towel, just let me know.” Cleo called “And we can go back to the nice mats and air conditioning at the Lyon's Den. “

Another test. She wanted to see if he would quit.

He wouldn't.

He made his way through the darkness, lugging the tire around into lap five. By the time he came around again, the lights burst back on, nearly blinding him.

He could hear Cleo clapping.

“Good work.” she said “That's what I like to see. Now when you're in there with a champion like Alex Jones and you think you don't have enough left, you remember this day, you remember this moment.”

Truthfully she had pushed him past his limits or at least further than he thought he himself could go, and that's something Zayvion respected about Cleo, she brought things out of you even you yourself didn't know you had in you. Now, she was no longer trying to create a professional wrestler out of him, She was trying to create a champion.

“Go ahead, take a breather." she said “You've earned it, we'll get back to it in 15 minutes.”

“There's more?” said Zayvion

“Of course.” Cleo replied “That was only the first set, we've got plenty more to go. I rented this place for the day, I need to get my money's worth."

Zayvion nodded, all he could do was roll with it and honestly, somewhere deep down he actually kind of liked it. He knew it was just the beginning of the road, and at the end of it he would call himself a champion.  For now he just enjoyed the 15 minutes of rest until you heard Cleo call out again.

“ All right breaks over, let's start with flipping the tire again…” she said.
__________

The spot hadn't changed much at all, it was still the same park across the street from Rufus's liquor store, the wood picnic table even still had the “ZL” that Zayvion had carved into it almost 8 years ago.

He had a lot of memories here with his crew, Bug, 3-Ball and Lo’. The four of them were as thick as thieves growing up and had known each other forever. Bug and Lo’ were already there when he arrived.

“Zay!” Bug said as Zayvion approached “How you doing homie?”

Andre, or “Bug” was the one Zayvion had known the longest and the one he had always been closest to. He didn't remember how Bug got his nickname, but it had always been there. Even his own family called him Bug.

“I'm good.” Zayvion said, dabbing Bug up, “Just staying on my grind, you know me.”

He turned to Lo’, short for Lorenzo. Lorenzo was the one in the group known in trouble more often than not.

“Yo, Lo’! What's good?” said Zayvion.

“Just keepin’ it real.” said Lorenzo, “Nice of you to come around.”

Zavion raised an eyebrow as he dabbed Lorenzo up, something about his tone felt off.

“So where's 3-ball at?” Zayvion asked “Running casually late as usual?”

He noticed Bug shoot a look at Lorenzo.

“Three is in jail.” said Bug. “They got him for a suspended license and a DUI.”

“Damn.” said Zayvion “How long?”

“Twelve months.” said Bug.

Calvin, or 3-Ball, sometimes three for short was the fourth member of their crew. He was a good guy but didn't always make the best decisions.

“You'd have known about it had you came around more.” said Lorenzo

“Lo’...not now.” said Bug

“Just sayin, we ain't heard from you in months.” Lorenzo said “Was worried you'd forgotten about us.”

“Man y’all my crew.“ said Zayvion “You know ain't nothing changed, I'm just out there trying to get my bag is all.”

“Yeah Lo’ come on we're just here catching up.” said Bug.

“Yeah you know I ain't got nothing but love for y'all.”, said Zayvion “I've just been busy with this whole wrestling thing you know.”

“I know… I know..” Lorenzo sighed “It just feels different, you know? Things are changin’, you out there doing your wrestling, three locked up, it's just me and Bug out here now.”

Zayvion nodded, taking in his friend's words, sensing the subtle frustration in them, that feeling that life is moving forward around you and you're still standing in place

“I get it dawg.” said Zayvion “But that's life you know, things change. Don't get it twisted though, I always got love for the block. It's like that Biggie line, I'm blowing up like you thought I would call the crib, same number same hood.”

“You know, I've been thinking bout my future too…” Bug spoke up “Started taking classes at the community college.”

“Yeah?” asked Zayvion curiously “What kind of classes?"

“Some basic general education ones.” said Bug “And some culinary classes. I'd kind of like to open my own little restaurant someday,  and want to learn how to cook more than just using the grill.”

“Hey man, that's cool.” said Zayvion “You always grilled up the best burgers at the cookouts you'll do great.”

“Thanks man.“ said Bug.

“Just promise me you'll save me a spot opening night when you get that restaurant.” Zayvion said playfully punching Bug in the shoulder.

“Of course.” said Bug, returning a playful punch of his own to Zayvion's arm. “With VIP treatment.”

“Well look at y'all..” Lorenzo said “One about to be the next wrestling world champion, and the other about to be on the Food Network. “

“What about you Lo’?” Zayvion asked “You still workin’ at your uncle's shop?”

“Yeah.” Lorenzo replied “But business has been a bit slow lately, Unc can't afford to give out too many hours.”

“Well don't worry too much.” Zayvion said “You'll be all right, above it you're a survivor Lorenzo, you always find a way to survive.”

“Yeah..” said Lorenzo “I guess that's all any of us can do, survive.”

Zayvion nodded, visiting the old block was a nice getaway from the intense training he had been going through with Cleo. But like Zayvion himself the block was changing, some people were moving forward and some were staying treading water. But in this moment it was nice just reconnecting with his friends and feeling like his old self again even if just for a moment.

_________

The cameras open on the quiet corner of a park where Zayvion Lyons sits at a concrete picnic table underneath a wide tree. He sits on the table rather than the bench resting one foot on the seat decked out in a casual street fit. Cleo Phillips sits on the bench beside the table, decked in her own street fit leaning back casually on the table itself. The camera lingers on them for a moment before Zayvion speaks.

“It's spots like this that I grew up in Alex.” he began “Where you don't got anybody in your ear telling you what you're supposed to be.  It's just you and reality and the reality is I got the biggest amount of my career coming up.”

He pauses for a moment.

“I know it's easy to say that with it being my third match in this company.” he continued “But that doesn't make it any less true or make this match any less important because rest assured this match will be a major turning point in my career.”

He takes a moment to adjust his sunglasses.

“Current Internet Champion, former world champion.  Alex Jones is a main event level talent who's done everything there is to do in this company.” Zayvion continued “He is the kind of an opponent you measure yourself against. I beat Alex Jones and that's confirmation that everything I've been saying about myself ain't talk.”

“On the real tho Zay.” Cleo said “They don't put you in a position like this if they don't know what time it is already.”

Zayvion nods.

“No doubt because the truth is Alex.” continued Zayvion “I might be newer to this stage than you but I'm hungrier. You've been to the mountaintop, you've been fed. But I'm still feeding, and I know as far as my fatal four-way at Blaze of Glory is concerned this match is going to decide exactly what sort of threat I am when that comes around. I fully intend to go into that match as the guy who beat Alex Jones. I beat the Internet champion, and suddenly the conversations different.”

His words come confident and firm.

“You have all your accolades for a reason Alex. You didn't just fall into them.” continued Zayvion “By hook or by crook you went out there and earned that resume. That's exactly why if I'm supposed to be the next one up, then beating you isn't optional, it's necessary.”

He grins.

“You see Alex you've had time to get comfortable.” he grinned “That's just what happens when you've been on top for so long, you get used to the spotlight and being the name on the marquee.  You get to walk into a match with people already knowing what you're capable of. I don't have that luxury, but that's exactly what makes me dangerous.”

“Because he's still proving it.” Cleo said.

“I'm still mostly unknown.” Zayvion continued “Still working my way up. You're defending a position and I'm trying to take one. I'm going into my Blaze of Glory match with a victory over a champion on my shoulders. You're going into yours having to explain to Miles Kasey why you lost the match to the new guy.”

He grins playfully.

“No disrespect.” he said “Just the reality of the situation. You're a benchmark around here, a name that built this place into what it is and I'm carving my name into it. I need this more than you do and I'm willing to go further for it.  You gain nothing by winning this match, but I have everything to gain and I'm going to do whatever it takes to capitalize on that. I had a good first couple weeks but this is the match where Zayvion Lyons arrives.”

“They ain't ready.” said Cleo.

“Win or lose I'm bringing you a fight.” said Zayvion “It's time to show the world that I'm more than just a rookie. I'm Magic Johnson in game six and I'm about to dunk on Alex Jones, ride the momentum all the way through Blaze of Glory and on to the Roulette Championship.

“Does that make Eddie Kareem?” Cleo said

“Something like that.” laughed Zayvion “But like I said when I first arrived  I'm my own man. I'm not going to use my last name to carry me, and on Climax Control when I beat Alex Jones everybody will know exactly who I am.”

“Bet.” said Cleo.

The cameras linger on them for a moment, Cleo looking cool while Zayvion looks into the camera with a confident aura as everything fades to black.

It didn't take long for Zayvion to be greeted warmly by his grandmother Miriam, almost as soon as he walked in the door of her home.

“Hello?” he called as he entered.

“Zay?” her voice came as she entered the family room and saw him there in the doorway, “Is that my baaaaybeee?”

He smiled and greeted her warmly with a hug.

“Hey Big Momma.” he said. “How is everybody?”

He always thought that the Big Momma nickname was somewhat ironic because his grandmother was a small framed woman, the nickname was really more of a cultural thing.

“We're all doing good.” she replied “We watched your big debut, we're so proud of you.”

“Thanks Big Momma.”  he said "I promise there's much more to come.”

“Just promise me you'll be careful.” she said “I don't want you to hurt yourself.”

“I will Big Momma.” he said “I can't promise I won't get hurt, but I can promise I'll be careful. If I get hurt I won't be able to wrestle and I ain't trying to do that.”

“And maybe talk to your brother?" she said in a way that was meant to drop a subtle hint.

“What did Malik do?” Zayvion said, picking up on it instantly.

“He looks up to you, you know.” she said “You're his big brother and he wants to be like you, but I can't have him jumpin’ off my furniture, and the other day he jumped off the playground structure onto one of his little friends at school.”

“Oh my God..” Zayvion said “Did anyone get hurt?”

“Just a few scrapes thankfully.” she said "But they did send Malik home for the rest of the day.”

“Alright, I'll talk to him.” Zayvion said “He in his room?”

“Yeah he's back there playing one of his games.” she said “I didn't punish him, but if he keeps it up then I will have to put him on punishment.  I just think he'll listen to you. You're a hero you know, he tries to act and dress just like you.”

“Yeah I know, I know.” he said “Don't worry I got this Big Momma.”

“Thank you Zay.” she said "I'll be checking on the baby if you need me.”

Zayvion nodded, and made his way down the hallway toward his kid brother's bedroom. His sisters weren't home at the moment, Kaelani had likely taken Saphira to soccer practice.

“Knock knock!” he said through the doorway lightly knocking on the door.

“Zaaaaaaaaaay!” in the excited voice of a young Malik as soon as he saw his older brother's face peeking in.

Malik jumped up from his Mario Kart game and ran up, nearly leaping into Zayvion's arms.

“Whoa hey hey, take it easy little man.” Zayvion said.

“I saw your match!” Malik said “You looked so cool, and you beat that big scary guy.”

“Hey, thanks little man.” he said “It wasn't easy though, that big mean guy beat me up pretty good.”

“Yeah but you won.” Malik replied

“That I did.” nodded Zayvion as he took a seat on Malik's bed “Come sit here let me talk to you for a minute.”

“Am I in trouble?” Malik asked.

“Naw.” Zayvion said, “I just got to talk to you about somethin’, what's this I hear about you jumpin’ on one of your friends at school?”

“We were playing SCW.“ replied Malik with a smile.

“I see.” nodded Zayvion “You do understand that's very dangerous right?”

“Mighty Malik laughs in the face of danger.” said Malik.

“Mighty Malik?” said Zayvion “Is that your wrestling name?”

“Yeah. Do you like it?” asked Malik

“It's a great name.” said Zayvion “But you still can't be jumpin’ off stuff, you gonna hurt yourself,  and you can't be jumping off Big Momma's furniture either. What I do takes a lot of practice. I've been practicing and learning for an entire year, and I still have a lot to learn.”

“Can you and Miss Cleo help teach me?” asked Malik

“We might be able to teach you a couple things.." said Zayvion “But a lot of the cool stuff you have to wait and be bigger. But I promise, when you are bigger we will definitely help teach you if that's what you still want.”

"Okay." said Malik "When I get big like you you and Miss Cleo get to teach me to wrestle."

“Okay.” said Zavion "But only if you promise to stop jumpin’off Big Momma's furniture. I want you to be safe. No jumping on your friends at school either. You lucky Big Momma didn't take your game away this time, but she is gonna put you on punishment if you don't stop."

“Fiiiiiiiine.” said Malik

“I'm serious.” since Zayvion “I don't want you to hurt yourself,  because when you get big The Flyin ’ lion is finna need his tag team partner, Mighty Malik.”

Malik's eyes widen.

“We could be tag team partners?” he said

“Absolutely!” replied Zayvion with a smile “But you have to wait and finish school and get big like me first. Miss Cleo and I will teach you a few things along the way.”

“The Jefferson Brothers.” said Malik

“Come again?” said Zayvion curiously

“That's going to be our tag team name.” replied Malik “You know because it was mom's last name, and we're brothers because of her even though our last names are different but we can use hers.”

Zayvion smiled and rustled his brother's hair.

“That's pretty good.” he said “You think of that yourself?”

Malik nodded.

“Then the Jefferson Brothers it is.” replied Zayvion. “Everybody better watch out because when Mighty Malik gets big, it's on.”

“Like Donkey Kong.” Malik said with a laugh.

“Speaking of Donkey Kong…” send Zayvion “Pass me your other controller, let me get it on this Mario Kart.”

Malik happily obliged and the two brothers spent the next hour or so playing Mario Kart until their sisters came home and they were called in for dinner.

__________

The cameras fade in on Zayvion leaning against a chain link fence in a casual relaxed posture, Cleo Phillips also leans nearby against the fence, her presence casual with the central focus remaining on Zayvion, a casual smirk appearing on his face as he begins speaking.

“So y'all saw what happened.” he said "They put me in there with Bill Barnhart, a dude that looks like he eats dumbbells for breakfast. I stood across from him thinking man they're really trying to feed me to a bear on my first night, but at the end of the day I put that bear down.”

He nods confidently.

“Now it appears I got another big mean bastard to deal with.” He continued,  “But Brandon Hendrix to me, is nothing more than a bully and I know how to handle bullys.”

“Tell em.” adlibbed Cleo

“Where I come from, we don't play that shit.” Zayvion continued, “You ain't finna punk me like you did Ciaran Doyle. You ain't going to throw a tantrum and get yourself disqualified because you can't handle somebody fighting back. That kind of shit doesn't make you tough or dangerous.

“Just emotional.” said Cleo

“Exactly.“ Zayvion continued "It's that my little brother just unplugged the game console type of energy. That's all it is no Killer Instinct just you losing control then there's the whole deal with LJ Kasey.”

He shakes his head, showing his disapprovement.

“The man won his match and the bell and rang.” he said “And then boom here you come in a mask and jumpin’ him from behind. Like what the hell kind of corny shit is that are you really that desperate Brandon?”

He pauses for a moment as he and Cleo look at the camera like they're on an episode of Dora the Explorer waiting for a response.

“The thing is a bully only feels tough when the other person ain't lookin” he said “But once someone take that power away and square up to them, they fold. They like to prey on who they think are weak. If you square up with them they ain't going to fuck with you. Now I can't speak for Ciaran Doyle,  but I saw the fire in LJ Kasey's eyes and that boy is pissed off. I think you done fucked with the wrong one.”

He shrugs.

“But that's LJ Kasey's problem to solve, right now you gonna to deal with me.” he continued “And what you ain't going to do is try to make me some sort of example and do what you did to them to me.  You look at me and you probably see a smaller,  vulnerable dude, but I've been dealing with bullies like you my entire life. Bigger kids with loud mouths thinking they got something to prove, they all thought they were scary until I smacked them straight in the mouth.”

His eyes turn serious.

“So when I see you Brandon.” he continued “All I see is the same dude I used to take my lunch money back from. You don't intimidate me, and you don't scare me. In fact I dare you to try and pull some punk shit on me. Try and pull some foul shit on me and see what happens. See if I don't smack you straight in the fucking mouth and dislocate your jaw.”

He raises his palm, miming a smack at the camera.

“See while you out here tryin’ to scare people.” said  Zayvion continued "I ain't got to try,  because where I come from there ain't no referees, just consequences. Guys like you grow up to be bullies thinking you the big dog cause nobody ever checked you, and nobody ever stood up to you looked you in the eyes and said naw not me, I ain't the one”.

He pauses.

“I've been telling guys like you not me my whole life.” he said “And I always find that the loudest in the room, is usually the softest. That all the toughness they portray themselves to have is nothing more than theater. You ain't a menace Brandon, you're just a dramatic soap opera villain.”

He smirks, Cleo chuckles.

“You got disqualified against Ciaran because you couldn't handle him fighting back.“ said Zayvion “And you jumped LJ cause you couldn't look him in the eye and face him like a man. When you get in there with me you're going to find out that I'm way meaner face to face then you've ever been from behind. Don't get it twisted because I like to smile and make some jokes. That's just me being me dawg, but when it's need to go time, I'm finna knuckle up  and handle business.”

He forms a fist with his hand at the camera.

“I came to this company to make a name for myself and get my bag.” said Zayvion “And I'm not going to let no punk ass like you try and push me around and prevent me from that. I got too much to prove to show that I'm more than just the new guy, or or some secondary talent from the Lyon's Den.  You saw me deal with that walking refrigerator Bill Barnhart, and now that same fire and energy is coming for you and I bet deep down somewhere that worries you because you have an image to maintain. Someone like me coming along and whooping that ass it's just going to expose you and ruin this whole monster image of trying to create for yourself. If you fancy yourself a monster I'm going to show the world that you're less of a Godzilla and more of a Scooby-Doo villain that I'm going to pull the mask straight off of.”

“Kind of reminds me of Cookie Monster with anger issues.” Cleo chimed in “Or a Monchichi with an attitude problem.”

“The hell is a Monchichi?” Zayvion asked curiously.

“I'll show you later.” said Cleo

Zayvion shrugs, giving Cleo a suspicious look.

“But you see what I mean.” Zayvion said “My manager is over here comparing you to Sesame Street characters, that's how not scary you are my boy. That's just the truth of the matter you don't intimidate me because underneath all the jokes the flat truth of it is I don't like bullies it's that simple and I'm not someone who lets bullies push me around I'm someone who stands up to them because like I said when you do that they fold every single time and that's exactly who you are Brandon."

He pauses

“You're no monster.” said Zayvion “And you damn sure ain't no killer. You're just some loud dude hoping nobody calls your bluff, but I'm the wrong dude to try that on because I actually enjoy fighting. When Sunday come around, I wake up smiling, I eat good, and I play my hip-hop music loud with the windows down.”

He speaks proudly with a confident smile on his face.

“So just know when that bell rings I ain't going to be jumpin’ you or blindsidin’ you." Zayvion said, “I ain't going to be looking to get myself DQ'd. I'm going to stand right across from you look you dead in the eyes, and tell you exactly what time it is."

He pauses

“It's time for the block party.” he grinned.

“And you ain't invited to the cookout.” said Cleo.

“So I'm going to do what I have to do” Zayvion said “And bounce you right on out it. I'll see you soon bully."

“Bet.” said Cleo.

The camera remained focused on them for a moment before it all faded to black.

« on: January 30, 2026, 10:28:03 PM »
It was a clear black night, a clear white moon when Zayvion Lyons got the call from Cleo Phillips. He was just enjoying time spent with his siblings he had been away training so hadn't seen them in at least a month, so his kid brother Malik insisted on running some Duos in fortnite.

“NO!" cried Malik “Sniper downed me!”

‘I got this, hang tight.” Zayvion replied, eyes focused.

Locked in, Zayavion stayed focused the game they only had one or two left and while he was unable to revive his brother it only took a few minutes for Zayvion to finish the round.

“Get wrecked. ” Zayvion said turning to his brother as the words VICTORY ROYALE appeared on screen. “Told you we'd win.”

“I got most of the kills.” replied Malik. “And I had to revive you like five times.”

“I know, I know.” Zayvion laughed “You did all the work, and I coasted us to victory off your hard work.”

It was at that moment his phone rang.

~...They not like us…They not like us.~

“Give me a sec little bro.” he said “I gotsta take this.”

~...They not like us…They not like us.~

He set his controller down and stepped aside to answer the call.

“ Yo Cleo!, what's good?”

‘......’

“Just hanging out with Malik.” he said “Big Momma took the girls and Baby J to the store.”

‘........’

“What do you mean a spot opened up in SCW?” he asked “I thought the den was at their contract limit with them.”

‘........’

“Whoa whoa whoa slow down…” he said, "What are you talking about? What happened to Eddie?”

‘.........’

“Holy shit..that's fucked up….” Zayvion said

‘........’

“ I don't know….I can't take Eddie's spot.” He said “I don't wanna start my career like this…”

‘...........’

“It's not fair to Eddie though…” said Zayvion

‘.........’

“I just think….”

‘........’

‘..........’

“Yeah but….”

‘............’

‘Aight….aight.” he said “You right, I get it, it's not ideal but I have to seize my opportunity when it presents itself.”

‘......’

“Yeah, I'll see you then.” he said, hanging up the phone.

A real contract was everything he wanted, it's what he had been working hard for the past year at the Lyons Den and now it was presented to him.

But at what cost? Eddie Lyons was a leader at the Lyons Den,  and Zayvion held a great deal of respect for him. Now because of Vincent Eddie had everything he worked hard for taken from him. Zayvion just wasn't sure he could fill the void left behind by Eddie and he certainly didn't want to be seen as anybody's replacement.

Even worse he felt he may have been partially to blame. He had quietly asked someone to find him a way, any way  to get a contract. He didn't know who he was asking, maybe God, but he couldn't help but feel like perhaps he put some bad mojo in the air.

He knew she was right though as unfortunate as it was what happened to Eddie  he couldn't look past this opportunity. He had to seize it and make the best of it.  Most importantly he had to prove to everybody that he is not a replacement.

__________

The energy around the Lyon's Den felt heavy when Zayvion arrived, many were still reeling from the incident with Vincent and Eddie. Coach Kaiser himself had caught some slack for it, and decided to take a leave for a few weeks. Many of the students had complained to him about the danger Vincent was becoming, now Eddie who many considered the heart and soul of the Lyons Den had suffered as a result.

He found Cleo going hard at one of the punching bags.

“Yo.” he said upon approach.

Cleo stopped her exercise and turned to greet him.

“Yo.” She said. “How we doin’?”

“I'm doing aight.” he said “Just trying to take everything in, what happened with Eddie, my contract, it's all just kind of happening so fast."

“Well, things happening fast is something you have to get used to in this business.” said Cleo “It's not going to slow down for you.”

Zayvion nodded, he knew Cleo was right he was just getting used to it all.

“So how's he doing?” Zayvion asked.

“Eddie?”
Cleo replied “He's all right, already thinking bout how quickly can get to rehab. The man's a soldier he'll be all right, you don't got to worry about him you've got to worry about Zayvion.  Eddie himself would tell you the same, trust me I'm the godmother of his child.”

Again, Zayvion knew Cleo was right. He didn't know his cousin Eddie as well as she did, but he knew enough to know that Eddie would wish him the best and tell him to make the best of the opportunity presented before him.

“So this is it then..” he nodded “They're going to put me in the game, so it's time for The Flyin’ Lyon to step up to the plate."

“That's the spirit Youngblood!” said Cleo playfully punching him in the shoulder.

“Let's get to work.” then he said.

Cleo nodded in agreement and stepped aside allowing Zayvion to take his turn on the punching bag. He had a huge debut ahead of him and he needed to make sure to show the world what to expect from Zayvion Lyons.

_________

The camera picks up on a neighborhood playground at night with a single street light humming overhead, a few swings creak lightly in the breeze, and Zayvion Lyons is found sitting on one of the steps of the play structure. Cleo Phillips leans against one of the play structures metal posts nearby.

“Imma keep it real with you guys from the jump.” Zayvion began “I already know what people are going to whisper about me. That I'm only here because of what happened to Eddie, and there may be some truth to that. But I didn't plan for my big break to come like this, Nobody in their right mind would want it this way. I wasn't even sure I wanted it, but Cleo here convinced me that I need to seize the opportunity that's given to me because it might not come again.”

He shrugs.

“Now Eddie Lyons is somebody I respect.” he continued “Eddie is family, and what happened to him ain't something you celebrate. But I need to make this loud and clear that I am not a replacement, and I'm not here to fill some vacancy left behind by Eddie Lyons.”

“Preach” adlibbed Cleo

“See I realize that opportunity don't come with instructions.” he said “It just shows up and asks you what you gonna to do with it ,and I've been working hard this past year to show exactly what Zayvion Lyons is going to do with his opportunity.”

He pauses.

“So they got me up against Bill Barnhart in my debut.” he said “Seems like that's the norm around this place, but if it's Billy B I have to take out and that's exactly what I'm going to do.”

He grins.

“I can call you Billy B?” right he said “If not, well, I'm going to do it anyway.”

A playful grin creeps across his face.

“Now I know you a big boy Billy B.” he continued “But you ain't quick like me, you can't move like me, you going to have to look up because when you turn around The Flyin’ Lyon going to come straight out the sky and bust your ass.”

He pauses again.

“I'm afraid you're nothing more than a welcoming mat Billy B.” said Zayvion, “That's all you've ever been, just someone for the new guys to test their mettle against before the real challenges arrive.”

He shrugs.

“And I guess it's my turn to come knocking.” he continued “The only thing is I don't intend to knock,  I intend to kick the fucking door right in.”

“If y'all sleep on this kid..” said Cleo “Then he going to be the alarm clock that wake yo’ ass up.”

“Bet.” nodded Zayvion “See I know everyone going to be looking at my last name, but understand I ain't grow up with that family. I grew up with my family, my real family. My moms aint, with us no more, so I got to be a man and step up and help out the family.”

“Real shit.” Cleo said.

“So don't get it twisted when you see that last name." Zayvion said “That last name didn't raise me, or make sure my lights stayed on. It was my people that did that, and I had to learn early how to move and adapt because where I come from, if you weren't quick on your feet life would run you over.”

He pauses again.

“It was places like this I was raised in.” he said “Concrete, noise and pressure.  You either figured it out or you didn't, and trust me I figured it out. That's why I'm different. So when I stand in that ring, I'm not carrying some hand-me-down legacy. I'm carrying responsibility. I'm fighting because I want better. I fly because I have to, and I make jokes cuz if you don't the world might eat you alive.”

Another pause.

“But make no mistake about it when that bell ring.” he said “I'm going to be dead serious. So Billy B, do what you do big man. Try to bully me and slow me down. Just know, every second you spend reaching Imma already be gone, and when you finally are able to catch sight of me it'll be too late.”

Another grin flashes as he rises and takes a step to the camera.

“See for me Billy B.” he continued "This is survival, I've survived being counted out, folks thinkin’ I was just some punk kid who would never amount to nuthin’. This ain't just a debut for me, this is my statement.  I'm not just out here to test the waters. I'm coming to make waves so Billy B, you about to get introduced to scws newest problem.”

He grins again.

“I'll show everybody that I'm not a replacement or a fill in.” he said “I'm the next big thing in SCW and you're all welcome to come along for the ride. You can roll with me if you want to and if you don't whatever, that's cool too. But I promise it will be one hell of a ride, and if you're not riding with me then get the hell out of my way.”

“Bet.” said Cleo

The camera stays focused on Zavion for a few more moments before it all feeds to Black

January 2025

The Lyons Den training facility was nothing like Zayvion had ever seen, it was certainly better than any of the broken down gyms they had back in Inglewood. This was where he belonged and this was what his deadbeat father had been hiding from him all along.

He flew all the way across the country to be here so he could train to become a professional wrestler and secure a bag for his family. His mother's side of the family of course, he didn't know anybody from his father's side, the Lyons side, all he knew was that he carried the name, and that meant he had a right to be here as much as anybody who carried the last name Lyons.

As he made his way through he was approached by Eddie Lyons.

“Hey, new guy!” Eddie said extending a hand. “Eddie Lyons, nice to meet you.”

Lyons. This guy carried the same name, he was likely related somehow. Zayvion extended out his hand accepting the handshake.

“Zayvion Lyons.” he replied keeping a respectful eye contact with Eddie.

Eddie raised an eyebrow and a knowing smirk came across his face.

“Let me guess.” Eddie said “You're another one of my Uncle Zack's kids.”

“Yeah my dad's name is Zachary Lyons, but I never met the guy.” replied Zayvion.

Eddie nodded.

“Yeah… neither did the rest of your brothers.” Eddie said.

“I've got brothers around here?” asked Zayvion.

“Yeah.“ said Eddie “Your father, my uncle, let's just say… he had a lot of fun in his youth.”

“Yeah…” Zayvion muttered

“Hey..” Eddie said “Don't worry about it too much.  You'll be all right. How about I show you around? We are cousins after all."

“I'm supposed to meet with a Coach Kaiser..?” said Zayvion

"Yeah.. that would make sense." said Eddie "He's the head trainer around here handles all the contracts and that sort of thing. He's out at the moment, had to go take his daughter somewhere. He'll be back a little later but I can introduce you to some people till then.”

“Yea, that's cool.” said Zayvion.

“Follow me.” said Eddie, as he led Zayvion around the area.

Eddie pointed out a dark haired man who seemed to be brooding in a corner.

“That's Alexander.” said Eddie "He's one of your brothers I'd be careful around him he's  a little moody and not very friendly to people he doesn't know. I feel like there's a good heart in there somewhere that maybe he doesn't even know yet."

Zayvion looked at Alexander for a moment but continued to follow Eddie.

“That guy over there talking to the female trainees?” Eddie continued, "That's another one of your brothers. Matthew, he's far too focused on the ladies instead of what he actually should be doing.”

“Can't say I blame him, I like the ladies too.” Zayvion grinned.

“Mmhmm…” said Eddie curiously, continuing the tour. “Anyway the other family members you need to know about are our cousins Victoria and Vincent, the twins. Watch out for them they're nothing but trouble. Vincent is dangerous, and that Victoria is conniving.”

“Sounds like the whole family is nothing but problems.” said Zayvion

“Feels that way sometimes.” said Eddie “But I do my best to do the right thing. My fiance and I are expecting a kid later this year and I just want to be a good example for my child.”

“Hey man, congratulations." said Zayvion.

“Hey come on, there's someone I want you to meet.” said Eddie.

Eddie let him a little deeper into the facility, Zayvion looking around all the equipment as he followed. They came upon an urban looking female.

“Cleo, meet Zayvion” said Eddie, “Zayvion meet Cleo.”

Cleo observed Zayvion, as if reading him like a book.

“Where you from young blood?” she asked.

“Inglewood.” Zayvion replied.

“How you find yo’ way out here?” she asked

“I’m a Lyons.” Zayvion said.

Cleo grinned and looked at Eddie

“Zack?” she asked.

Eddie nodded.

“Well, good to know he didn’t discriminate.” she joked. “Look, just work hard and be respectful, that’s all we really ask around here. Listen to Eddie, he’ll lead you right.  Just careful around the rest of your family, especially that Victoria. Nasty little one she is.”

“So I’ve heard.” said Zayvion.

The three chatted casually for the next twenty minutes or so, as Zayvion learned of Cleos background with gang involvement and how The Lyons Den helped change her from felon to world champion. A story Zayvion really respected, he had been around people in similar situations back home, some of his best friends were behind bars. He himself never got into gangs, but he certainly had friends who did. After a while, they took him to Coach Kaiser’s office so he could finish out his paperwork and officially become part of the team.

_________

May 2025

Zayvion had been working hard in the few months since he officially joined The Lyons Den. He had gotten to know and understand the rest of his family,  now knowing what Eddie and Cleo were talking about when he had first arrived.

He and Cleo in particular had grown very close, they had shared some of the same struggles and just understood each other in ways that the rest didn't.  She had said he was a quick learner likely to his DNA and gymnastics background, and that if he kept it up he would be having a contract of his very own before long.

“You're doin’ great young blood. Keep it up.” she told him after the two had finished a few rounds in the ring.

“Well it helps to have a good teacher.” he said dabbing her up, “How are things in PWS?”

“Still tryin’ to get my world title back.” she said “But Star did announce that I'm getting inducted into their Hall of Fame. Ya girl made it. I'm a certified Hall of Famer.

“Hey congratulations!” Zayvion said with sincerity.

“Thanks.” said Cleo “Makes me feel like all my hard work paid off, and like I said if you keep working like you are you'll get to a hall of fame one day yourself young blood.”

Shortly after that moment they were interrupted by one of Zayvion's brothers, Alexander Lyons.

“This felon still trying to give you advice?" Alexander smirked “Maybe you should rethink who you really want to listen to around here, because between Cleo and myself one of us is your family and one of us is currently a champion. They are also the same person and it's me.”

“Alex, not now.” said Cleo.

“Yes now.” said Alexander “You see my tag team champion partner Alexandra Calaway, my sister in blood, has been helping me understand the meaning of family. I'm not talking about the golden trio, I'm talking about my family who suffered the same fate I have because of our father. They look at us as bastards like we're not as good as they are. That's something only we can understand, and something only I can help my brother with.”

“Alex, I don't know what you, trying to do but you better check yourself right now.” Cleo warned.

Zayvion put up a hand and interjected himself.

“I got this Cleo.” He said.

He turned his attention to Alexander

“Look, Alex.” he said looking into the eyes of his older half brother. “You want to talk about family going to about being my brother you ain't never said more than a few words to me…”

“Alexandra and I were busy working on becoming champions.” Alexander interrupted.

“ I wasn't done.” Zayvion said sternly “I didn't know nobody when I got here, but the two people who did help take me in and help me get my foot in the door were Eddie and Cleo. Eddie however is a busy guy, he's getting married, he's expecting a baby and he's got his SCW career,  but Cleo she's been the one who's had my back since day one in this place.  If Alexandra Calaway can be your sister in the blood or whatever yall’ call it, then Cleo can be my sister from the streets. So with all due respect brother, I think I'll continue listening to her.”

Alexander frowned.

“You're making a mistake.” he said.

“Then it's mine to make.” Zayvion replied.

They stood eye to eye staring at each other for a moment before Alexander, with a huff stepped back and went out about his business.

“What's his deal?” Zayvion said.

“I think he liked it better when he was the only one…” Cleo said “You know, of your dad's kids. Now there's you, and Matthew and Nayeli got here a short while ago
here.  Coach said some lady in Ireland is trying to stake some claims but so far nothing's been proven.”

“Well I ain't worried about none of them right now.. I need to focus on getting Zay to the play.” Zayvion replied.

“Then let's get back to work.“ said Cleo

__________

August 2025

Winds of change could be felt moving through the Lyons Den during the weeks of August. Eddie had just gotten married recently on a cruise, and his daughter Jordan had been born into the world. PWS had closed its doors leaving Cleo and Alex out of a job, Victoria was still dealing with her Championship reign coming to an end and Vincent had lost his mind completely.

Zayvion was preparing for what he was hoping to be his professional debut with a company that was trying to start up under the name Elevation Pro, unfortunately it seemed they were never able to actually get their feet off the ground.

He had nothing to do but continue his training and working alongside Cleo Phillips who had become his closest friend in the den.

“Sorry to care about PWS.” he said "I know the place meant a lot to you.”

Cleo sat on the ring apron and shrugged.

“It's all good.” she said “You got to learn to move on, ya’ know PWS did a lot for me now I got to look at what the next chapter is for me.“

“Yeah I feel that.." said Zayvion "I was hoping Elevation Pro would be it for me but I guess that didn't work out.”

“Yeah, well I don't know what happened with all that.” said Cleo “But that wasn't yo’ fault. I guess whoever wanted to run it wasn't quite ready to run a company yet.”

“I guess.” Zayvion muttered.

“In any case I wanted to tell you something about the next step in my career.” she said “I did a lot in PWS, Won world championships, had blood feuds, made their Hall of Fame. I think it's my turn to give back and I can fully focus on you.

“Haven't you already been helping me out since I got here back in January?” asked Zayvion.

“I mean officially.” said Cleo “I finally got my manager's license, and I want to make you my first client.”

“Yo, for real?” Zayvion said “Hell yeah! You know I ain't going to say no to that shit.”

The two shared a friendly embrace.

“Then it's official.” she said “Whenever you make your debut and I assure you it's going to be soon I'm going to be right there in your corner.”

Zayvion was really starting to feel like he was finding his place in the Lyon's Den. All he needed now was a contract. He was still early in his training, but there was just something in him. He knew he could do it, he just needed an opportunity, an opening, any opening. If Cleo is going to continue to be right there by his side on a more permanent basis as well, then that was just icing on the cake.

__________

January 2026

Zayvion Found himself mildly annoyed at the start of the new year He was told the next available contract would be his but when the news broke of a new company opening up contract offers it was his younger half sister Nayeli Lyons that had a contract written up.

“I thought I was next up.“ Zayvion said “What to my contract Cleo? “With all due respect to my younger sister, I've been working here longer and harder than she has. Coach told me I was next!”

“Nayeli was giving more of a developmental deal.” Cleo explained “It wasn't the right type of contract for you, coach has bigger plans for you and is seeking out a bigger company.”

“He's taking too long.” Zayvion grumbled.

“Patience, young blood.” Cleo said.

“I am trying.” said Zayvion “But I really just want to get out there and do this thing for real. I'm tired of the little exhibition matches here at the Den. I'm ready.”

“I know..” said Cleo “But Coach is a man of his word, and he'll give you something as soon as he can. We just have to wait for an opportunity to open up.”

“Well I wish that opportunity would open up for me sooner than later.” said Zayvion “I don't care what has to happen to make it so.”

“Be careful what you wish for…” said Cleo “Remember we're going to do this the right way, and like it or not that requires patience.”

“Yeah, I get it.” said Zayvion.

He did understand it to a point but he still wanted his opportunity and deep down he did make a wish that somehow some way something would open up for him…..
