A rut?

It’s amazing how quick people were to close the book on Cassian’s career in Sin City Wrestling, sure he had lost his attempts to win the Blast From The Past and soon to follow his Roulette Championship… it hadn’t been an easy few weeks for the lad but you can be assured that his silence was only temporary. Loss is normally shortly followed by gain and since losing his title, his winning streak and his mission to become World Heavyweight Champion, Cassian has gained a new title… Father.

It didn’t roll off the tongue when he spoke about himself that way, but it was something he was going to have to get used to. After all, he had created life four years ago with a woman that he very well could have loved. Her name was Claire and since the day his clear blue eyes fell on to her, Cassian knew he had to have her. Strangely it wasn’t in his usual need to conquer and banish… it was raw, honest attraction, something that had been missing from his life until the very second she walked into it. Her daring blue eyes had him gasping for air the moment they gazed across the bar to look at him and from the moment on, Cassian just knew he wanted her but more importantly he wanted to get to know her.

The Albion was the pride of Islington offering traditional and homely cooked British meals, all the while serving the best pints this side of town. It was a hub for the locals and tourists alike as people descended upon the beer garden all year round to party away under the stars and the big ancient old willow trees that had been donned with fairy lights to add to the ambience. The inside of the pub was nothing to be sneezed at it with its high ceilings, polished wooden features and church like arched windows. The Sunday roast had people lined up for miles, the pork crackling was known for being the best in town but it wasn’t just the food that brought people here, it was the party atmosphere after dark that had patrons limping out in wee hours of the morning after spending their weekly paychecks to wet their whistles with the finest ales, ciders and lagers.

Cassian was no different, well he was… his pockets were endlessly lined with pounds and he would never have to stress over a few quid but he did enjoy the atmosphere of The Albion, he had spent many nights there during his late teens and early twenties, many of those nights ending the following morning with him being helped out by Nicky George as the two sung merrily on their way back to their apartment. Tonight was no different in the sense that Nicky and Cassian were out on the town, however in the same hand it wasn’t like all the other nights they had been there.

Cassian stood beside Nicky at the bar as they continued to scan around the surroundings of the establishment, no doubt looking for their next accomplishment in the bedroom as the two shared a pint. Nicky seemed to be more interested in his phone, as he kept a watchful look on the screen. He was on call with London Underground and when Daniel said jump, Nicky was more than happy to say how high. Cassian had taken it upon himself to fest his eyes over the local prizes that Islington had to offer and he wasn’t disappointed because as soon as his eyes scanned across the room, towards the doorway there she was.

The lighting above the doorway made her blood red hair look like it gleamed, she was an angel. A sight his eyes hadn’t seen in, well forever. Cassian swore he could count all her freckles across her nose from a distance but maybe that was because he hadn’t taken his eyes off her since she walked into the room. Cassian was lucky that he had his right arm rested on the bar, or he would have been on his arse. A stunned mullet for sure. He watched as she made her way towards her group of friends, her long red hair cascading down her back, as the tight fitting classy green dress she was wearing left nothing to his imagination. Not that he didn’t encouraging. It wasn’t until he heard Nicky’s voice shake him out of his thoughts did Cassian realise that he had been fixated on her arrival.

“You alright, you look like you’ve seen a ghost.” Nicky chuckled.

Cassian just scoffed at him trying to fob him off but Nicky had already clicked on to what Cassian was looking at.

“No.” Nicky ordered. “Last time you went for a redhead, I had to pick your arse up from the clink.” Nicky smirked.

Cassian just did his best to ignore him, I mean it wasn’t hard as she couldn’t even move his eyes away to look at Nicky as he was talking to him. It wasn’t until Nicky forced himself in front of Cassian that his attention shifted towards his best friend.

“Are you listening to me?” Nicky shouted.

Cassian just smirked before he lifted his drink from the bar top and made his way around Nicky, taking his leave.

“She’ll be different.” Cassian said confidently.

Without another word he had left Nicky alone at the bar and made a beeline towards her, without any doubt she would be differently she would change his life but little did he know that four years later she could bring a daughter, his daughter with her.

To be continued...

Caleb, let it be perfectly known that you might be facing a previous Roulette Champion… a defeated champion, a man that hasn’t been seen in the ring since his defeat but let me assure you that Cassian is more than ready to take you on and crush your dreams of ever becoming a successful Roulette Champion in Sin City Wrestling. You see you might hold the number one contendership by your bare hands but that doesn’t mean you’re ready for the misery that is before you…

You have no idea what it’s like to be unhinged, you have no idea what it’s like to have everything you have worked for ripped from your finger tips and that’s why this week at climax control, you will lose at the hands to a man who knows what it’s like to lose it all…

Cassian Reed.

A man who came into SCW hot, a man who walks alongside London Underground and can hold his own… a man tipped to be the next World Heavyweight Champion and yet… it was all taken away from him and no, it wasn’t from Roxi’s inability to win the BFTP… no it wasn’t from Alex Jones the man who took his SCW Roulette Championship…

Cassian list it all because of himself, because of his lack of understanding of the business and his lack of faith in himself but I can promise you…

Mistakes are often made but never repeated in his life and once he is back inside the six sided ring this Sunday night he is going to make the world remember his name, by beheading the clown who claims to be the next big thing in Sin City Wrestling…

That man is you Caleb… and at the end of the night you will see that while you have your championship match lined up, Cassian will be coming for his rematch.

And he’ll sign that contract, the ink will be warm with your blood.
