Caleb’s first match as the new Internet Champion played out a lot like the first one, with Kris Ryans picking up the win over the younger opponent but Caleb was, as ever, undaunted by the setback and this week at Climax Control 314 he was facing an old enemy of his, the new SCW Roulette Champion Bill Barnhart! Much like Climax Control 313’s Main Event between Bombshell Roulette Champion Krystal Wolfe and Bombshell Internet Champion Andrea Hernandez neither man’s title was on the line, only their pride! Can Caleb bounce back from the loss to Kris?

I know what you’re thinking and no, I’m not commenting on the dog costume beyond “I thought it would be a funny idea” and Krystal’s reaction was perfect so yeah, no further comment on that.

Speaking of dogs, I’ve got an old dog that I’ll be facing yet again this Sunday night, you got it folks it’s Bill Barnhart only now “Old Fart” Barnhart has a singles title to his name! And unlike the time where he and his wife finally won the Mixed Tag Titles, he’s held it longer than two weeks! Granted that is mostly because he’s yet to have his first defence but I do have a prediction for when Bill’s first defence happens.

Remember how long my first two Internet Title Reigns were? Yeah, I don’t see Bill’s reign lasting beyond the first defence either!

“Caleb, when you said “bring Lemmy’s lead and back-up collar to Climax Control” I thought you had something else in mind entirely.” Katie commented as she shook her head in disbelief and I grinned in response as we talked over Zoom, Katie was back in Las Vegas for the week getting her training done with the others. “Something that would’ve been far to hot for TV I might add! But no, you went and brought a dog costume.”

“Tricky part was finding one that was less fursuit and more cute Halloween costume.” I admitted with a laugh and Katie shook her head. “After that? It was keeping a straight face as I barked.”

“Caleb, you’re the Internet Champion, the last guy who held that title is the current World Champ, at least TRY to have some dignity!” Katie responded with an exasperated sigh before our Labrador Lemmy poked his nose in. “But that is a good segway into your next match as champ admittedly, you know, since your facing Bill again!”

“At least there’s an actual story here beyond the whole “Caleb and Bill put on good matches”, namely that Bill finally won his first singles title!” I pointed out as Katie patted Lemmy on the hard. “There is part of me that wants to be happy for the guy, but I know from personal experience that holding a title is never easy in SCW.”

“Yeah, Krystal seems to be the one bucking that trend right now, even after that loss to Andrea she’ll be up to 147 days as champ by Climax Control 314.” Katie nodded in agreement after doing the math in her head. “Speaking off, our favourite Aussie is pissed at herself for letting Andrea get the better of her, but that much really could’ve gone either way, and she’s worried about what Char will do next to get to her.”

“After Char choked out Azurine with Krystal’s finisher? I don’t blame her!” I nodded in agreement before thinking for a minute. “What’s Gabriel’s stance on that?”

“Obviously, the only people who know what Char has planned next are Char and her entourage, but Gabriel has warned the Go Gym Graduates to watch out for her.” Katie responded before pausing. “Except Tempest and Fenris but, well, if those two DON’T go without saying I don’t know who does.”

“Fenris would probably just glare at her until Char decides to try it on something else, Tempest would just slam Char and Kiara through a wall and use Mr. Chalmers as a back scratcher.” I responded semi-jokingly, but it was still enough to get a good laugh out of Katie. “Or should that be Super Nintendo Chalmers?”

“I know right? His title might be Mr. Chalmers but in a roster that probably grew up watching The Simpsons? He had to know the jokes were coming!” Katie laughed before letting out a deep breath. “Now I’m wondering about the bullying he got growing up.”

“I doubt that’s the case, I can’t find an age anywhere for him but he’s gotta be in his late forties/early fifties at most, I’d bet the only animation on TV when he was growing up was Scooby Doo and the like.” I pointed out and Katie nodded in agreement after thinking for a second. “And don’t get me wrong, I like Scooby Doo but man, the animation in the original series has not aged well.”

“Maybe but there were some creepy monsters, The Creeper anyone?” Katie pointed out and I nodded with a grin on my face. “I’d better get going, I think Lemmy wants some food, have you eaten yet?”

“Ate dinner before the Zoom Call, but I did run into Krystal and her niece in the lobby.” I responded and Katie grinned when she heard that. “And yes, her niece is as cute as they say.”

“Krystal’s been trying to get Gabriel to let her bring Rachel to the Go Gym whilst she trains but so far? He hasn’t budged.” Katie shrugged her shoulders in response. “I kinda get why but her niece will have to socialize at some point.”

“Katie, Krystal was the creative driving force behind the presidential press conference seg, she’ll find a way to make it work.” I pointed out and Katie grinned in response before we went to end the Skype call, and after a quick blown kiss we ended the Skype call.

Here we go again.

“Stop me if you’ve heard this before, oh look, Bill Barnhart and Caleb Storms aren’t doing anything right now, let’s put them in a match together even though Old Fart Barnhart only has one win over me compared to four wins for my side! Really, the only difference this time is that in my last encounter with Bill, I won the Internet Championship and the only reason I didn’t pin him was because Malachi was also in the match! And since then? Bill won the Roulette Title after it was vacated by our now current World Champion!”

Talk about a downgrade.

“Look, I know they needed bodies for that Triple Threat Match especially since it was in Atlanta and SCW may as well be a second home for people from Atlanta but I’m just saying, I doubt Bill would’ve walked out the Roulette Champion if his competition was anyone other than Miles Kasey or Lincoln “Mr. Mediocre” Daniels and going from Alex Jones as Roulette Champion to Bill Barnhart from Roulette Champion is like going from eating a Fillet Mignon prepared by and cooked at one of Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants to eating a McDonalds Hamburger!”

And now I’m hungry!

“Bill, your reign may have just started but people are already taking bets on how long it’ll actually last, at least with me they waited until after Brother David Shepherd was named the Number One Contender to my title last week but you? You just won it and people are already counting down the days until the end of the reign of “Old Fart” Bill Barnhart, what does that say about you? Actually, scratch that, I don’t even have to use that as an example, just look at your Mixed Tag Team Title Reign!”

Yep.

“Now granted, Austin James Mercer and Tempest only got this shot because it was Alicia Lukas’s turn to be Queen for a Day, that couldn’t be more obvious! But I’d argue that Queen Alicia only hastened the demise of your Mixed Tag Team Title reign by booking that match and that it wouldn’t have lasted that long without her help, hell the argument could be made that you would’ve been lucky to make it to the next Supercard as champion but my point stands, winning titles is basically your kryptonite Bill!”

It’s that simple!

“And I guess that makes me Lex Luther holding the green glowing rock above you! Let’s go back to your one and only win against me Bill because if history has taught us anything about that one match in hindsight, it’s that your one win over me was a fluke! I beat you several times since then and at least twice on my way to championship gold! Either winning it or challenging for it! And whilst you finally won a title last week, I’m here to ensure that your reign gets off to the worst possible start.”

And with that I decided to wrap things up!

“After all Bill, we’ve been here before and it’s the same old song and dance only with a fancy new collar for both of us! The Internet Title for me, and the Roulette Title for you! Not to mention the fact that we both won our respective titles after they were vacated, me after winning a tournament and you after winning a Triple Threat Match but I guess we’ll soon find out who wanted it more because there’s a storm brewing and unless you brace yourself Bill, you and your Roulette Title Reign will be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms, your Internet Champion!”

I went to get something to eat as the scene fades.

Caleb had advanced to the second round of the Internet Title Tournament pinning Cassian Reed in the Triple Threat that also featured Brayden Hilton! However, he could not rest just yet as Climax Control 310 was the Go Home Show for Violent Conduct VII and that meant that the second round was in full swing! Caleb’s second round opponent was also a man he had faced before, Miles Kasey had served as his co-challenger against Alex Jones at Into the Void X where Miles was submitted by Alex to allow him to retain the title, can Caleb advance?

Sunday the 22nd of August 2021. 18:00pm

Well, I’m through to the semi-finals, pity about the quality of my competition in round one though!

Seriously, Cassian Reed might be the biggest one hit wonder SCW has seen in a while (including Candy) and Brayden? He’s a spoiled brat who’s currently throwing his toys out of the pram on social media because he lost a match, he put no effort into.

But at least I know what I’m up to next week at Climax Control 310, as it’s the Go Home show for Violent Conduct VII the semi-finals are being held next week in Seattle with me taking on Miles Kasey and Bill Barnhart taking on Malachi in on the male side and Dani Weston taking on either Andrea Hernandez or Jessie Salco and either Mercedes Vargas or Johanna Krieger taking on Bobbie Dahl for the women’s side, on the women’s side of things I see at least two PPV worthy matches, on the men’s side of things?

Either I have “Old Fart” Bill Barnhart again or Malachi who has just returned and beat The Troll to get this far, my Labrador could beat The Troll for crying out loud!

“So, Caleb.” Katie broke my concentration and I glanced up at my wife. “The Bush Cricket may have the weirdest size testicles in the animal kingdom, huh?”

“I had the video going through my mind at the time, and it’s not like I could’ve said anything new about Cassian or Brayden either.” I pointed out and Katie raised an eyebrow at me in response. “For one thing, that would’ve required them to speak about my match against them at all.”

“True, but you could’ve literally said anything else from that video!” Katie responded as my lovely wife folded her arms with a huff. “The video was about weird facts about the testicles for crying out loud, you could’ve said anything about THAT part of the male anatomy…….” Katie trailed off as she realized what she was saying. “And I just realized that there’s literally no way you could’ve said that without it sounding like sexual harassment!”

“Just be glad I wasn’t watched the “Weird Facts about the Female Body” vid on the way over instead, now THAT would’ve gotten weird!” I responded and Katie quickly nodded in agreement before I passed her the card. “I know who my opponent in the Semi-Finals is anyway.”

“Miles Kasey, first you face Cassian and now him.” Katie commented with a nod as she leaned back. “And between that and Bill Barnhart being in the other male qualifier, it seems you’re facing everyone you faced during the lead up too and at Into the Void X during this cycle, including Alex!”

“That would require Bill to pick up the win over Malachi though and he’s no pushover.” I pointed out before leaning back. “The one I feel most sorry for though? Bella Madison, look at who she’s facing in the opener.” I added and Katie looked at the card again.

“Ouch, Tempest?! And here I thought Mark was giving her easy opponents to make the match between her and Krystal an inevitability.” Katie winced as she looked at the card. “Krystal’s on commentary, do you think she’d try to run interference?”

“Knowing her, she’ll make the offer and either Makayla or Bella or both will talk her out of it.” I responded with a shrug and Katie nodded in agreement. “Knowing how proud Bella is, I think she’d skip the pleasantries and outright demand that Krystal doesn’t interfere.”

“Sounds likely to me.” Katie nodded in agreement before checking the time on her phone. “Come on, by my clock Mercedes vs. Johanna should be starting soon, personally? My money’s on Johanna winning.”

“I’d say that’s a safe bet, given Mercedes’s recent track record when it comes to title matches or opportunities to earn said title matches.” I nodded in agreement before I followed Katie to the cafeteria to watch the match.

Friday the 27th of August 2021, 18:00pm

Turns out that wasn’t as safe a bet as we thought since Mercedes advanced to the Semi-Finals and all, but now that the semi-finals were set I had one thing on my mind and that was ensuring that I would advance to the finals at Violent Conduct VII, the other thing? Why the current Bombshell Roulette Champion was looking so miserable at a nearby table.

“Every time I think I’m doing the right thing I end up shooting myself in the fucking foot instead!” Krystal grumbled to herself as she looked over the menu. “Fuckling typical, how am I supposed to concentrate on my defence against Bella with that hanging over my head?!”

“Krys, you know what they say about those who speak to themselves?” I asked the Australian Bombshell and Krystal glanced up at me from her menu. “That it’s a sure sign of insanity and all?”

“Not in the fucking mood Caleb!” Krystal snapped at me before quickly shaking her head. “Never mind, your only connection to the Go Gym is that your wife trains there and I shouldn’t be mad at you, speaking off, did Katie mention anything about seeing me yesterday?”

“She did over our Skype call yeah, and she mentioned that you went straight to Gabriel’s office and left in a mood that was sourer than you arrived in.” I responded and Krystal nodded before motioning for me to join her at her table. “Where’s Makayla anyway?”

“Back at the hotel, she knew that I needed some space to cool down.” Krystal explained before noticing the look I was giving her. “We’re not having relationship problems before you ask, she just knows that I need my space when I’m in a bad mood and that meeting with Gabriel yesterday has left me in a worse mood then I was in during my losing streak.”

“Is this about those tweets you made about Bella’s third gauntlet match?” I asked and Krystal’s glare gave me the answer I needed. “I don’t see what the big deal is, you wanted to ensure that your title match against Bella finally happened.”

“I was only speaking hypothetically, but once Christian started putting words into my mouth things spiralled out of control.” Krystal responded as she shook her head. “I wasn’t going to go through with that idea anyway, even before Bella told me not to interfere but off course, Tempest had to go complain to Gabriel that I was planning to cost a fellow Go Gym Graduate a match and before I knew it, I was being called down to Vegas for a long conversation with both Gabriel and Odette.”

“Ouch.” I winced as it dawned on me. “How did that end?”

“How do you think? Tempest left as soon as I arrived at the Go Gym for training the other day and whilst I did get Gabriel to see it from my side of things eventually, I got read the riot act first by not only Gabriel but Odette as well.” Krystal added before she ran a hand through her hair. “And trust me, it hurts to get chewed out by the woman who was your inspiration for getting into wrestling in the first place! Hopefully I can put that passed me come Violent Conduct VII!”

“You think Bella can beat Tempest without your help?” I asked and Krystal shrugged.

“On paper? Tempest will spend most of the match tossing Bella around like a ragdoll before pinning her, but in practice, me and Bella have wanted this title rematch since Mercedes interfered in our first match.” Krystal responded before a waitress, initially confusing us for a couple before recognising us from SCW, came over to take our orders. “And I don’t think Bella’s going to go down as easily as Tempest will like, if at all!” Krystal added once the waitress had our orders and trying to lighten her mood, we shifted the topic away from Tempest.

One round down.

“The first round is done and dusted and more importantly, I’ve moved onto round two! However, whilst in round one I faced a guy from my initial pursuit of the Roulette Title and a momma’s boy to a former World Bombshell Champ in round two, I’m facing another guy from that initial pursuit of the Roulette Title only this time? We’re facing off in contention for different gold and there’s no third man in the match to complicate things! That’s right Miles Kasey, we have unfinished business to resolve!”

This will be good.

“What unfinished business? Let me take you on a trip back in time, namely to Into the Void X! In the Triple Threat Roulette Title Match between us and Alex Jones, you were submitted by Alex allowing him to retain the gold! Now whilst I went on to challenge him for the title twice more in the months that followed that match, I feel like I would’ve had a real chance of walking out of Into the Void X a two time Roulette Champion if you weren’t in the match!”

But I digress!

“However, you have your own reasons for wanting to succeed in this tournament don’t you Miles? Because the last time you challenged for the Internet Title, the match got ruined by The Troll! Now granted Mr. Wank has ruined pretty much everything since he debuted in SCW just by being on the roster, but you have yet to win your first title in SCW and this is your best chance at doing that and avenging that last loss, pity for you that I’m standing in your way, isn’t it Miles?”

Such is life!

“Look Miles? You’re a good guy and all and I can see why most of the men and women on the roster can’t go five minutes without drooling over you but in the ring, nice guys finish last, and this Sunday at Climax Control not only will our unfinished business from that previous match get resolved but I will stamp my spot in the finals of the Internet Title Tournament and go on to face Bill or Malachi in the finals!”

But at the end of the day.

“This isn’t about being nice guys and it sure as hell isn’t about having a nice body! I mean hell, I don’t really have an athlete’s body and I’ve done well for myself in SCW, just look at the titles I’ve won! But here’s the thing Miles, I’ve got my eyes on winning a new title and I started this year by becoming a two time Internet Champion, it’s only right that I end it by winning the Internet Title for a third time, I just have to get past you first!”

And I will.

“Am I setting my sights a bit high? Maybe but I know I can achieve those goals, after all, thanks to the events of Summer XXXTreme IX and the post Summer XXXTreme IX Climax Control it is guaranteed that they’ll be not one but two new Internet Champions for both divisions and I intend to be one of them once the final bell rings for Violent Conduct VII’s Main Event, who will the other Internet Champion be? I don’t know but after looking at who’s left in the women’s tournament, I’d say that title is in good hands!”

It’s that simple.

“Miles, you are a hell of a wrestler but you’re also a perpetual underachiever in SCW, and unfortunately for you this trend won’t end this Sunday at Climax Control! I will commend you for getting this far into the tournament and getting past Alex Rush, but this isn’t a Pretty In Pink Tuxedo Match and I’m not Alex Rush! Now granted, me and Alex have a few things in common and Katie reckons that I’d look good in pink, but can you beat me in a straight up fight?”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“We're into round two and as the announcer in Mortal Kombat would say, round two, fight! And as you can see Miles, I’m already looking straight past you and at the finals of this tournament where I’ll face either Malachi or Bill Barnhart! I’ll cross either of those bridges when I get to them but until then Miles, we have unfinished business to resolve in that ring and I’ll be resolving it this Sunday because you had better brace yourself Miles because there’s a storm brewing, otherwise you’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms, your next Internet Champion!”

I started listening to some music as the scene fades.

Caleb’s second attempt at winning the Roulette Title from Alex Jones ended in failure again as Alex joined Krystal Wolfe in retaining the title in the Ultimate X Over the Pool Match at Summer XXXTreme IX, however it would soon turn out that the bosses felt that Caleb was not done with Alex Jones yet and this time, Mark wasn’t even waiting until the Supercard to book Caleb in a Roulette Title Match and this time? It was one on one between him and Alex, will the third time be the charm for Caleb?

Monday the 2nd of August 2021, 18:00pm

I knew there was going to be a downside to SCW going on the road.

What do I mean by that? It’s simple, because she’s training at the Go Gym seven days a week Katie can’t accompany me on the road and we agreed that it was for the best that Lemmy stay home with her so yeah, for the entirety of this tour I’m on my own.

At least we were able to reach a compromise.

“I just watched the replay of last night’s Climax Control.” Katie said once the skype call came through and she made herself comfortable. “Krystal will do anything to hold onto her title, won’t she?” Katie added before taking a sip from her drink.

“I don’t know, I thought it was common courtesy to buy a woman dinner before using salad tongs on her breasts?” I asked jokingly and Katie’s drink nearly ended up all over her laptop keyboard. “Like you weren’t thinking that!”

“I’ll admit, I was thinking that as well, but I didn’t expect that to come out of your mouth!” Katie responded with a laugh once she regained her composure. “How are Krystal and Ari after their attack from Amy by the way?”

“I think Krystal was more banged up after the Main Event.” I responded with a shrug and Katie nodded in understanding. “And Ari? The worst she got was a finisher from a woman old enough to be her great aunt, she’ll be fine!”

“I guess, but we all expected so much better from Amy here at the Go Gym, including Odette and Gabriel.” Katie responded with a frown, and I nodded in agreement. “Gotta go, I think Lemmy wants to go for a shit, but we’ll talk tomorrow.” Katie added as Lemmy appeared on screen briefly with his tail wagging before Katie hung up and I started planning my next move.

I wanted to get lunch outside of the hotel and I didn’t want to go somewhere that would cost me an arm and a leg just to get a table, so here we are!

Don’t get me wrong, my match against Alex on Sunday is on my mind since this is my third title shot against him and first one on one match against him but sometimes, I just need to unwind and I can only eat so much hotel food I can take, besides I have been trying to train for the match.

Keyword being trying, and off course you’d think the fact that I’m in one of the most famous cities in the world would make chilling out a lot easier but nope!

“What to get, what to get.” I muttered to myself as I looked over the café’s menu, I hadn’t been here that long but as simplistic as the café’s menu was, choosing what to eat from the menu was proving to be a lot more difficult than anticipated. “Eggs Benedict or Mushroom Risotto, if I was back home and had the ingredients, I’d have a go at making those dishes myself.”

“Maybe we can eat here in peace.” I heard Makayla’s voice ring out and looked at, Krystal and Makayla were approaching the café and the two Australian women weren’t happy.

“At this rate, I’m half tempted to just say “screw it” and order take-out from our hotel room!” Krystal responded as they approached the café. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m okay with autograph hunters but now whilst we’re out on a date!”

“Krystal?” I called out to her, and Krystal instinctively rolled her eyes in response, until she recognized my voice and looked up. “I’ve been here for the past fifteen, twenty minutes and I’ve not been pestered.”

“Well yeah, but you’re not one of SCW’s champions.” Krystal pointed out before shaking her head. “Not saying that I hope Alex retains the title in the Main Event off course.”

“Off course but I haven’t even heard a peak of something like “hey, isn’t that the metalhead wrestler from SCW challenging Alex Jones on Sunday?” so I don’t think there’s any wrestling fans here.” I responded and the lesbian couple shared a look before grabbing an unoccupied table near mine. “Was getting lonely over here anyway.”

“Katie’s still in Las Vegas training at the Go Gym I take it?” Makayla asked and I nodded in response. “And Lemmy?”

“She’s looking after him in Vegas, we agreed that it would be a lot easier this way.” I responded and the two women nodded in understanding. “Just don’t ask me for recommendations, I can’t make my mind up between the Eggs Benedict or Mushroom Risotto.”

“An Italian dish on the same menu as a French dish?” Krystal asked with a raised eyebrow, and I shrugged my shoulders in response. “That sounds confusing.”

“Google Maps described it as a Mediterranean Café and the reviews on Yelp are decent.” I responded reassuringly and the two women shrugged before looking at the menu. “So, Krystal, are you going to ask for another title defence on Twitter for next week’s show.”

“I don’t think so, I did that initially because I wanted a challenge, and it was SCW’s first show outside of Vegas in over a year.” Krystal responded as she shook her head. “I’ll be happy if my next defence isn’t until Violent Conduct VII to be honest, at least then I’ll have a chance to make it to my hundredth day as Bombshell Roulette Champion!”

“You are getting close, last week was your seventieth day and next week will be day eighty four.” I commented before finally deciding on the Mushroom Risotto. “And three weeks after that before you hit your hundredth day, I take it you’re planning your own celebration with Makayla if you get that far?”

“Yeah, but it’s the kind of celebration that we can’t go into detail about in public without getting dirty looks at best, being kicked out of the café at worst.” Makayla explained and I quickly got the idea as they decided on what they were ordering.

Here we go again.

“First time I faced Alex Jones for the Roulette Title and I wasn’t even submitted for Alex to retain, Miles Kasey got that distinct honour, second time I faced Alex Jones for the Roulette Title and it was in a stipulation where pin-falls were out the window because I got eliminated by falling into the pool, that said, this week I’m finally getting a one on one title match against Alex Jones after two title matches in a row where I had to share the spotlight with another guy, Miles in the first defence and Agostino Romano in the second, and frankly, it may as well have started  out this way!”

But I digress.

“I know Alex is a hell of a wrestler, he’s proven that ten times over and that’s before he won the Roulette Title and gained the prestigious Triple Crown, but I am determined to get out of San Francisco with the Roulette Title newly won and, in my possession, and with no one else to get in my way, what’s stopping me from achieving those goals? I can think of one potential thing that could get in the way!”

Here’s a hint, look at the name of the title.

“It’s often been said that the Roulette Wheel that gave the Roulette Titles their names, is a cruel mistress, on one hand we have last week’s Main Event which ended up being a Special Guest Ref Hardcore Rules Match, on the other hand, we have a situation like Krystal’s first defence of the title which was a mud-pit match! Those are just two examples but there are many others considering the title’s almost as old as SCW itself, but the wrong stipulation can really screw up my chances of winning the title from Alex Jones!”

But I’m not worried.

“If I was really that worried about Roulette Rules, I don’t think I’d be this enthusiastic about me becoming a two time Roulette Champion as I am but at the same time, I have to be realistic about my chances in this match if the wheel lands on a stip that seriously screws me over! “This is our third match for the Roulette Title and my second in a row following Summer XXXTreme IX and to be honest? If we face off for a fourth time and I still haven’t dethroned you, I’m going to scream! At that point, I’d rather just challenge Austin and Tempest for the Mixed Tag Team Titles because at least then I’d get a change of scenery in terms of my opponents, but that’s only if I lose the match on Sunday and for me it’ll be the third time’s the charm!”

It’s that simple.

“This may be our third match for the Roulette Title Alex, but it will be the last because that title is about to come home with me regardless of what that wheel stops on! Alex you are a hell of a wrestler, but I’ve been using our matches as work experience in a way because I’ve been learning what makes you tick as a competitor and this Sunday, I’ll put that to good use by winning the Roulette Title!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“I’ve said it once, I’ve said it twice and I’ll say it again and again until that title is mine again, it has been way to long since I’ve held the Roulette Title and Alex Jones is standing in my way for the third match in a row of breaking that drought! Alex, you have been a great champion, facing everyone from Bill Barnhart to The Troll in your title reign but this is where it ends because you had better brace yourself as there’s a storm brewing, otherwise you and your reign will be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms, your new Roulette Champion!”

I went to check on my laptop as the scene fades.

Caleb’s losing ways continued as he lost a close match to Goth and following Alex Jones’s title defence against The Troll (yes, seriously) Caleb made his displeasure known about being overlooked for a title opportunity even though he wasn’t submitted in the Triple Threat Submission Match at Into the Void X, well this week he was getting a chance to repeat history as SCW was holding qualifier matches for the Over the Pool Ultimate X Roulette Title Matches at Summer XXXTreme IX, not only that but his opponent was none other than the man Miles Kasey defeated to qualify for that Triple Threat Match during the last cycle, Lincoln Daniels, will Caleb find himself in a Roulette Title Match for the second Supercard in a row?

I know married couples aren’t supposed to keep secrets from each other and all, but I had a good reason.

Katie still remembers how sore I was when I returned to the back after the Lion’s Den Match against Fenris even though that happened two years ago and when I got the idea to challenge Fenris to a fourth match I knew she was going to freak out about it, thing is? I didn’t think that the bosses would make it official because Christian said that it was the last match between us when he tricked me into accepting a Lion’s Den Match against Fenris.

And emotionally speaking I’m still sore about that!

I wasn’t with Katie when I got the card for Climax Control 303, I was on my way back from the bathroom when I happened to run into the stage hand in charge of handing over the cards to the wrestlers and, well, he used that as an excuse to give me the card for next week! I know I’ve got Lincoln Daniels in a qualifying match for the Ultimate X Over the Pool Match for the men’s Roulette Championship and, much like the last cycle, the women’s match was being filled out by Triple Threat Matches starting with Candy, Char Kwan and Bea Barnhart.

And as I returned to the catering area, I found my lovely wife waiting for me, and she was not happy.

“Caleb, when did you plan on telling me that you were challenging Fenris to a rematch?!” Katie asked with a scowl on her face as I walked up to her. “And for that matter, WHY ARE YOU CHALLENGING HIM TO A REMATCH?! THE FIRST TIME YOU FACED HIM. I CAUGHT YOU WRITING YOUR LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT!”

“Did you have to say that so loud?” I asked Katie as I winced in pain from her yelling that last part. “Look, I’m trying to build my reputation as a legend in the making, a great way to do just that is to prove that I’m over my fear of Fenris!”

“Oh, for the love of Dio………” Katie grumbled under her breath as she messaged her forehead in annoyance. “I’m going to see if I can sweet-talk Gabriel into letting you train at the Go Gym, far as I know, Fenris isn’t scheduled to train there this week because he’s not in action next week, but Krystal will be there and she’s good friends with him.”

“I don’t think Gabriel will let me spar with a female wrestler, knowing how the bosses feel about intergender wrestling and all.” I pointed out and Katie shook her head.

“He doesn’t but she’ll be there to give you advice at least.” Katie responded before letting out a deep breath. “And for the love of God, don’t say anything to piss of Fenris! I know that’s like trying to get Lemmy to respond to the word “walkies” without his tail of wagging destruction going off like a helicopter but at least try, or failing that, just let me take over our half of the Twitter account for the next two weeks.”

“You realize that doesn’t count for my promo against Lincoln, right?” I pointed out and Katie sighed.

“Just don’t bring up Fenris and you’ll be fine, and considering he’s not in that match, that should be easy!” Katie sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. “As for your promo against Fenris, we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it!” Katie added before stepping aside. “In the meantime, we’ve got a Main Event to watch, and Justin hasn’t done the introductions for Senor, I mean “King” Vinnie and Mark Cross.”

“I’m rooting for Mark because he didn’t have the idea to stick Bill Barnhart in a glorified Tuxedo Match!” I added and Katie gave me a funny look. “What? King Vinnie should be tried for War Crimes for that alone!”

“You know what? I’m not going to argue about that.” Katie responded with a shudder before we returned to our table.

It’s times like these that remind me why I love my wife.

It took some convincing on her part, but Gabriel agreed to let me train with the trainees ahead of my match against Fenris, only catch was that once my turn was done, I’d help Krystal and Ari train the female students whilst Gabriel took over for the men.

And so far, it’s working swimmingly.

“Seriously Caleb, if you’re going to try to beat Fenris at his own game then you’ve already lost the match!” Krystal called out from the ringside area as I sparred with Josh. “Fenris is one of the best submissions/striking experts in SCW, you’re not, how well do you think that’s going to end for you?”

“Badly?” I called back to the Aussie and Krystal shook her head as she adjusted the positioning of the Bombshell Roulette Title that was over her shoulder.

“Congrats, you’ve won the “no fucking shit” award.” Krystal responded with a face-palm. “It would be one thing if you were one of the trainees, but you’ve been wrestling since 2015 and have held three titles in SCW, in the case of the Internet Title, more than once.”

“Do we really count Caleb’s first Internet title reign though?” Josh asked as the English trainee circled around me. “Since it was gifted to him by J2H and all?”

“The bosses include it on the Title History Page, we count it.” Krystal called back before we resumed sparring. “Your strengths are your speed and high flying ability! They’ve carried you this far in your wrestling career and your title reigns speak for themselves.”

“Yeah, except against Fenris, I don’t have a single win against him.” I pointed out and Krystal shook her head.

“And if you try to wrestle his style of match, that’ll continue.” Krystal responded as she folded her arms. “And that goes double for your match against Lincoln Daniels on Sunday, he’s bigger than both you and Fenris and whilst he wrestles a hybrid power, brawling and high flyer, he still has a significant strength advantage over you.”

“Not to mention the fact that he’s coming off a loss to Fenris last week.” Ari chimed in as she walked over to the male half of the ring. “He’s going to be looking to bounce back from that and getting a shot at the Roulette Title at Summer XXXTreme IX will be a big boost for him.”

“Trust me, I should know, that’s how I broke my loosing streak in the last cycle.” Krystal nodded in agreement as I started working my usual, fast paced style against Josh. “Now you’re getting it, keep that up and Fenris will be yours next week!”

“Here’s hoping.” I responded before I continued to outpace the larger Josh. “And here’s hoping I can finally pick up a win over Fenris.”

“I’ll be sure to tell him that you said that.” Krystal teased me and once I realized that she was teasing me I resumed my sparring match.

It feels like I’ve been here before.

“Well, it’s time for another episode of Climax Control and this week I’m taking part in a Roulette Qualifying match so here we go again! If this sounds familiar to you then it should because I was in the same situation in the last cycle only instead of Bill Barnhart, a man I’ve beaten so many times that he may as well be called “Caleb’s Personal Punching Bag” at this point, I’m facing the man Miles Kasey beat to earn his spot in the Roulette Title Match at Into the Void X, Lincoln Daniels, does this mean Miles will face Bill in a qualifier next week?”

Why not? His wife’s in a qualifier this week!

“Look, I’ve got enough on my plate next week so for now I’m just going to focus on you Lincoln and since you joined the roster, you’ve done nothing but lose! Seriously for a guy who calls himself “Mr. Incredible” your run in SCW has been underwhelming to say the least! In fact, I’m going to give you some suggestions for new nicknames that are more accurate than Mr. Incredible for the rest of the promo!”

Starting with.

“So Mr. Mediocre, you may not be Bill Barnhart but this question still apples to you, how do you keep getting title opportunities?! Like seriously Mr. Waste of Screen Time, whilst the same can be asked off me there is one major difference! I actually have wins and titles to my name, you on the other hand? I don’t think you’ve won a single match since your debut and I hope that Mercedes will take time out of her busy schedule to correct me on this because otherwise, that would raise more questions about why Mr. Boring keeps getting opportunities!”

I swear I don’t understand the bosses sometimes.

“And before you point it out Mr. Winless, yes The Troll got a title shot this week in what could only have occurred through some form of bribery from his lovely mother, I bet she made the bosses some lovely homemade cookies to make that match happen too, but you are only slightly more credible than The Troll because The Troll has only been in SCW for a short time whilst you joined the main roster at the same time as Krystal!”

I shook my head.

“So where does that leave Mr. Slightly More Credible Than The Troll? It doesn’t leave him in a great position I’ll say that much and this Sunday I’ll stamp my spot in the Ultimate X Over the Pool Match at Summer XXXTreme IX by picking up the win over Mr. No Chance in Hell at Picking up the Win Over Caleb Storms and once I do pick up that win, I’ll focus on winning the Roulette Title over Alex Jones like I should’ve done at Into the Void X!”

Like, seriously, how?!

“How do you keep getting opportunities like this Mr. Lucky to Have a Job by This Point? Cause All You’ve Done is Lose! it’s almost as big a mystery as Bill and Bea Barnhart getting opportunities but at least the Barnharts won the Mixed Tag Team Titles at Into the Void X! And lost it in their first defence but that’s beside the point and regardless of the reason, I will beat you on my way to Summer XXXTreme and the Roulette Title!”

It’s that simple.

“Mr. Not So Incredible, no one’s denying that you’re a fantastic athlete but in the ring? You haven’t exactly set the world on fire and after I beat you on Sunday that trend will continue, maybe you’ll get a match on the Summer XXXTreme Card, but it won’t be an important match, hell the only thing that’d keep it from being the opener would be the fact that the bosses like opening shows with title matches and spoiler alert Mr. Disappointing? You won’t be in a title match unless a miracle happens.”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“What’s there to say about Mr. Choke Artist? Nothing really but Lincoln, this Sunday’s match will prove just how underserving you are of this title opportunity when I beat you in the middle of the ring! Because I am a legend in the making and you had better brace yourself because there’s a storm brewing, otherwise you’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms, your next SCW Roulette Champion!”

I went to take Lemmy for a walk as the scene fades.

Caleb had done it, he had pinned Bill Barnhart after hitting the Metal Storm Shooting Star Press on him and now joined Miles Kasey as Alex Jones’s first challengers for the Roulette Championship at Into the Void X, however that show was still several weeks away and this week he had a tune up match against the man Alex beat to win the championship in the first place, Cassian Reed! Cassian was the latest in a long line of Go Gym Graduates to see success in SCW, but Caleb was looking to build momentum going into his title match at Into the Void, can Caleb beat Cassian?

From bowing out of one title scene (for the time being) to being thrown into another.

I don’t know if the bosses planned for me to take on Bill in the last Roulette Title qualifier before I made it clear that I wasn’t planning on pursuing the Internet Title again and the fact that they announced Mac Bane as Agostino’s next challenger doesn’t help matters but I was looking for a way to bounce back from my loss to Agostino anyway and the fact that there was a shot at the Roulette Title on the line helped.

Well, at least next week I have a new opponent to look forward too.

I was given the card during the Main Event match between Ignorant Discord and The Black Sheep winded down and I’ve got former Roulette Champion Cassian Reed serving as mu opposition this week! Cassian us a Go Gym graduate so I hope that I can get some insight from Katie since she’s been training at the Go Gym and all, well, as soon as she returns from the women’s bathroom at least.

“Me vs. the former Roulette Champ next week.” I commented as I looked over the card not realizing that Katie was returning to our table. “Should be a good one.”

“You realize how little “former Roulette Champ” narrows things down, right?” Katie asked as she sat down opposite me. “That title’s almost as old as SCW itself!”

“To be fair, I can’t think of many Roulette Champs from the first era who are still active.” I commented with a shrug and Katie nodded in agreement before I showed her the card. “Second match on the card.”

“Cassian Reed, guess who’s finally come back.” Katie chuckled before handing me the card. “Krystal is just gonna love this.”

“All I need to know is whether Krystal’s rooting for me or not and I’m golden.” I nodded in response and Katie was clearly making a mental note to ask Krystal about that. “You have any insights on him?”

“Cassian? He was part of the last class, the one before mine.” Katie explained as she shook her head. “Krystal’s the most vocal about him and you get no prizes for guessing why but the other grads plus Gabriel and Odette seem to like him enough.”

“Hopefully, he and Krystal can bury the hatchet, I’m not holding my breath though.” I responded as I shook my head before we heard the ring bell ringing and glanced up just in time to see the Mixed Tag Team Titles change hands. “Huh, Ignorant Discord are the new Mixed Tag Team Champs.”

“Wonder how long it’ll be before the bosses book a rematch for Into the Void X?” Katie wondered with a shrug and I nodded in agreement. “So, when will we leave?”

“Soon, I guess, I do have a match to prepare for.” I shrugged in response before we continued eating.

It’s been a wild week.

On top of preparing for my match and practicing with my band we’ve had the whole situation with Carter being booked in a Handicap Match on Underground and for some reason, finding teaming with Father Gerard preferable to teaming with Krystal, not because of their falling out, they made it clear that they’re passed that on the last episode of Underground but because he didn’t do intergender matches and he happened to be facing two guys.

Could be worse, I guess.

Right now, I’m in the yard playing fetch with Lemmy and I’m about halfway through when I heard Katie’s car pulling up, and it didn’t take long for Lemmy’s attention to be diverted as he ran into the house with his tail wagging, I followed him in and saw my wife alongside two guests from the Go Gym.

“Hey Lemmy!” Krystal greeted our pup as he ran up to her, Ari and Katie jumping around as he did, it didn’t take Ari long to start petting him as well. “Katie’s coming along nicely in her training Caleb.” Krystal commented once she saw me.

“Hello to you too,” I greeted the Aussie woman with a grin and Krystal shook her head. “Where you able to resolve the situation with Carter?”

“We’re not sure what’s going to happen on Saturday, aside from the matches announced off course.” Ari responded with a sigh as Lemmy sat down at her feet. “Carter’s adamant that he doesn’t want to team with Krystal even though they worked well together last week.”

“Apparently, my experience wrestling men means nothing to him.” Krystal grumbled under her breath as she rolled her eyes. “At least I have the Dark Show match to keep me occupied, and Ari has that cage match against Veronica next week.”

“Because clearly, I haven’t beaten her up enough!” Ari sighed before she bent over to rub Lemmy’s belly. “Meant to ask, we’re taking several Go Gym grads with us to Underground tomorrow and yes, that includes Katie, you want to come with us Caleb?”

“I do have the match with Cassian on Sunday, but what the hell? Been a while since I attended an Underground show.” I shrugged my shoulders in response before I turned to Krystal. “Speaking off, any tips for dealing with Cassian?”

“Aside from kicking him in the balls so hard, his ancestors feel it?” Krystal asked semi-jokingly and we had a good laugh at that. “He’s a former boxer even though he doesn’t like using his fists for whatever reason, besides that, he wouldn’t have graduated if Gabriel and Odette didn’t think he was ready so don’t underestimate him, and if you do beat him? All the better.”

“But he’s a Go Gym Graduate!” Ari protested and Krystal shook her head.

“Who can’t get the message that I’d rather have sex with a cactus than even think of touching him intimately!” Krystal responded as she rolled her eyes, and we shared a wince as Ari stood back up and went to leave with Krystal.

“Who else are you taking?” I asked once I realized that they were about to leave, and the two women stopped.

“Caitlin, Adrienne, Josh and Kaiden, among the students, they are the most advanced, including Katie.” Krystal responded after thinking for a minute before she made her way to the front door. “Meet you in the parking lot?”

“Sounds good to me.” I nodded before the two female wrestlers left and Katie started getting dinner ready.

“Okay, hands up, who saw Bill’s defeat at my hands coming? Everyone? I’m not surprised, Old Fart Barnhart is getting on in years! That said, this week I’ve got a tune up match as I’m taking on the man Alex Jones beat to win the Roulette Title in the first place as this week, I’m sharing a ring with Cassian Reed! In other words, we have a match between a future champ and a former champ! No, you don’t get any prizes for guessing which is which!”

This should be good!

“Cassian, you haven’t really done much to endear yourself to the SCW Roster, have you? Between calling Roxi Johnson “the hot one” of Team Hero to everything involving Krystal Wolfe, you’ve established yourself as someone that both fans and wrestlers alike love to hate and it was cathartic to see you lose the Roulette Title to Alex Jones at Blaze of Glory IX and I’m sure that if you had anything to say about it, me and Miles wouldn’t even be considered for Alex’s first challengers!”

Thank god he doesn’t!

“And whilst you, thankfully, don’t have that power, you are likely hoping to defeat me and use that as leverage but I’ve got some bad news for you Cass, that isn’t happening, I’ll defeat you much like I defeated Bill Barnhart last week and whilst granted you aren’t nearly as old as Bill who was around when they were crucifying Jesus Christ back in the Roman Empire days but I’m not going to let a little thing like that stop me from building momentum for my Roulette Title Match at Into the Void X!”

It’s that simple.

“Cass, you are a lot of things, a little shit, a talented wrestler and the most annoying member of London Underground but more important than all of that is the fact that you are standing in my way of gaining momentum heading into my title match at Into the Void X and I’m sorry to say that this will be the closest you’ll ever get to getting a rematch for the Roulette Title with Alex Jones because after Into the Void X, that title’s coming home with me!”

Caleb lost the Internet Title to Agostino Romano at Inception IV after a competitive match, but Caleb wasted no time in issuing a challenge for a rematch to Agostino for the Internet Championship, a desire that was only strengthened when Agostino was knocked out in round one of this year’s Blast from the Past Tournament, now the challenge has been set and a rematch from Inception IV had been booked for this week’s Climax Control serving as the semi-main event, can Caleb win back his title?

Well, that was a bust.

J2H’s prediction wound up coming true, I lost the title in my first defence to Agostino Romano after a hard fought battle but now that I was back in the backstage area getting freshened up after the Internet Title Match there was one thing on my mind: a rematch.

I wasn’t going to go down the same path I did when I lost the Roulette Title back in 2018, I learned my lesson that summer, no. instead I was going to challenge him for the title at the next Climax Control, it was only a question of if the bosses would let me go ahead with it.

After I had gotten changed into my day clothes, I saw Katie waiting for me as she sat in a chair, she wasn’t the only Go Gym trainee in attendance as Caitlin, Adrienne, Josh and Kaiden had been invited to the show as well but Katie was the only one there who was familiar to SCW fans.

“I was just getting used to having a locker room to ourselves as well.” Katie sighed as she turned to me, there was still ten matches left in the card, so we weren’t going anywhere for a while yet. “So, any plans for the next Supercard cycle or are you just winging it?”

“I have plans.” I responded and Katie gave me a curious look. “I may have lost the title to Agostino tonight, but I’m not done with him or the title.”

“You’re going after a rematch?” Katie asked with a raised eyebrow and I nodded in response. “Caleb, we both know that the rematch clause isn’t a thing in this company, both because of the Roulette Title saga of 2018 and the fact that you double checked your new contract with the company to be sure, how do you plan on getting it?”

“Well for starters, I’ll be using the angle that I want to earn it legitimately.” I commented as I leaned against the wall and Katie blinked a couple of times. “And I’ll be issuing a challenge for said title at the beginning of the cycle, don’t know if I’ll specifically name the next PPV or not but it’s worth a shot in my estimation.”

“You’ve actually put some thought into this.” Katie chuckled to herself before shaking her head. “Just one problem, Agostino’s in the Blast from the Past Tournament and there’s precedent for defending champions putting their titles on the line during the tournament, hell that happened twice during last year’s tournament finals included! Do you have a plan b in case Agostino loses the title during the tournament?”

“I haven’t thought that far ahead yet, besides, I’ve been in two tournaments and I know how stiff the competition can be.” I responded as I shook my head and Katie nodded as she got the idea. “They’ve never made the champions defend their titles in the first round, with any luck Agostino won’t be the first and maybe he’ll get the boot in the first round.”

“He’s teaming with Mercedes Vargas, that’s not going to be an easy team to beat.” Katie pointed out and I nodded in agreement. “Then again, I can’t really think of any easy teams to beat in this year’s tournament, guess the only thing we can do is sit and wait.” Katie added before motioning to the TV which was playing the show. “May as well take advantage of our last few hours in this locker room, right?” Katie asked with a grin and I sat down next to her.

I issued the challenge the week before but after getting no answer I figured that Agostino was busy focussing on the tournament, so I settled for watching his match.

Katie was right about one thing he and Mercedes were a tough team to beat but they had the bad luck of being drawn against an equally tough team in Coby Quik and Candy and it was a close match ended when Agostino was pinned by Coby, as I walked away from the monitor Katie caught up with me.

“Well, you were right about Agostino Nostradamus.” Katie joked once she caught up with me and I turned to her with a grin on my face. “Coincidentally, do you know next week’s State Lottery Numbers?”

“Let’s not go too crazy with the predictions, Coby and Candy would’ve been a tough draw for anyone else this week.” I pointed out and Katie nodded in agreement before I made my way to the cafeteria. “And that’s another week gone with him not answering my challenge, maybe he was preoccupied with the tournament?”

“Maybe but if he doesn’t make an announcement tonight then maybe you should go out and call him out next week, provided he doesn’t have a defence scheduled off course.” Katie suggested and I nodded in agreement as we made ourselves comfy. “And do you have a back-up plan in case the bosses have someone else lined up?”

“Again, I’ll see what happens.” I shrugged my shoulders in response and Katie shook her head before she went off to get some food for us.

How has it been two months since Inception IV already?! Oh, right, Inception IV was on the last day of January and February’s the shortest month of the year.

Regardless, I got my wish! Agostino finally saw my challenge for the Internet Title and readily accepted it and the bosses were all too eager to make it official for this week’s Climax Control as the Semi-Main Event, why semi? Because the bosses want the last three shows before the Supercard to be headlined by a World Title Defence.

Still, that hasn’t shifted my focus one bit, my focus is still on the Internet Title and winning it back from Agostino this Sunday but right now? I have a hungry Labrador to feed.

“Caleb, I’m home!” Katie called out after returning from her first training session of the week/month at the Go Gym and it takes a lot to divert a Labrador’s attention away from food, his mistress coming home from a long day of training being one of those things. “Hey Lemmy, you miss me?”

“Miss you enough that he’s forgotten about his food.” I joked after I poured out his food and left it in his bowl and went over to greet my wife. “How was training?”

“Training wise, it was good, atmosphere on the other hand?” Katie asked before frowning as Lemmy remembered about his food and ran off. “The session opened with Gabriel and Odette chewing out Team Go in front of everyone for their actions on the last episode of Underground, don’t think I’ve ever seen them that angry and it was on exasperated when Carter tried being sassy with Gabriel.” Katie added and I winced, I’ve only met Gabriel a few times, but I knew that sounded like a recipe for disaster and I’m not talking about Ariana’s YouTube channel. “The rest of the day proceeded as normal but Team Go were far from their usual selves.”

“Really?” I asked with a curious look as I folded my arms. “In what way?”

“Carter was just unhappy throughout the rest of the day, Ariana? She looked like someone had just repeatedly run over her puppy, shot it just as many times, molested the corpse and made her watch.” Katie responded plainly before seeing the look I was giving her. “I knew using Cannibal Corpse as my workout music was a bad idea.”

“That sounds less like Cannibal Corpse and more like a comedy grindcore band.” I deadpanned and Katie shook her head in response. “And not in the same vein as Raised by Owls.”

“I was about to say, that seems a bit too gruesome for Raised by Owls.” Katie chuckled in response before she went into the living room and I joined her on the couch. “Adrienne and Caitlin say hi, by the way.”

“Tell them I said hi back.” I requested and Katie nodded to indicate that she’d do that. “Did Team Go ever give a reason?”

“They tried but Gabriel and Odette cut them off, saying that there was no excuse for leaving their partners out to dry like that.” Katie responded as she shook her head, and I couldn’t help but agree with them to be honest. “That being said, as training was winding down for the day Team Go were called into their office, I don’t know the details, but I think they talked it out with their trainers because they left in higher spirits than they spent the entire day in.”

“That’s good to know at least, Team Go are good kids with bright futures in wrestling.” I nodded in approval before Lemmy joined us in the living room. “Speaking of futures, I have my second Internet Title reign to look forward too.”

“Assuming that you beat Agostino on Sunday off course.” Katie nodded as she stroked Lemmy before he plopped down at our feet. “And if you do beat him then you’ve got whatever the bosses had planned for the title at Blaze of Glory.”

“If I do beat him, I’ll probably have a tie breaker match against Agostino at the PPV.” I pointed out and Katie nodded as she got the idea. “After that? I don’t know, need to survive the PPV first.”

“And as you’ve always said, the first defence of a new champion is a tough hurdle to get passed.” Katie nodded before she turned on the TV.

Things had settled down in the household since Katie returned from her day of training but that wasn’t going to stop me from conducting my promo.

“I’ll be the first to admit that Inception IV didn’t go as planned and Agostino dethroned me as the Internet Champion, however after weeks of being told that I was a fake champion because of how I became a champion I realised that there was only one true way that I could shut up the haters and that was to win the title legitimately! Hence my challenge for a rematch against Agostino was issued at the beginning of the cycle and this week, just two weeks shy of Blaze of Glory, that title opportunity is within my grasp.”

This should be good.

“Here’s the thing Agostino, you are a great wrestler but over the past few weeks I’ve noticed a similar pattern emerging to when I held the title, you went several weeks without defending that title, now granted I had the Christmas Break to bulk up my reign’s length but you? You were more focussed on the Blast from the Past Tournament than your Internet Championship! Now I’ve been in two Blast from the Past Tournaments and I am a two time quarter finalist so I know how tough those tournaments can be but at the same time, I can’t look past the other similarity!”

Can you guess what it is?

“You and I both lost our first matches as champions! Now granted, the comparison isn’t perfect by any means because my match was a champion vs. champion match against Kris Ryans that served as the Main Event of the first Climax Control of the year and as I’ve already mentioned, you lost your first round Blast from the Past Tournament Match! Now maybe I could’ve looked past it if Mercedes had taken the pin from Candy, but I can’t, because you were the one pinned by Coby!”

And that’s not an easy thing to overlook.

Now I think there’s two factors acting against Coby getting his shot at you instead of me, the fact that he’s still one half of the Mixed Tag Champs and the fact that he’s still in the tournament but the fact that Coby could be setting his sights on your title soon will likely play heavily on your mind! That said, I think he’s going to have to wait a bit longer for one reason, the fact that I am walking out of this Sunday’s Climax Control your new SCW Internet Champion!”

After that?

“I’m not sure what will come after this Sunday’s match to be honest, if I win, will the bosses book a tie breaker match between us for Blaze of Glory? If you win, well I think they will move you onto someone else and stick me in a random match on the card but that’s not important, what is important is that I’m coming for my title and this Sunday I will be winning it back after a hard fought contest between us! And hopefully unlike last week’s Main Event, it won’t come down to the literal last second!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“This rematch is my second chance, and it is two months in the making and I’m not leaving Climax Control without the Internet Championship! Agostino you are a great wrestler don’t get me wrong but this Sunday you will lose the title to me after one hell of a match because you had better brace yourself as there is a storm brewing, otherwise you’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms, your next SCW Internet Champion!”

I went upstairs to do some gaming as the scene fades.

J2H had kept his word, he had awarded Caleb Storms the SCW Internet Championship after winning it from Teddy Steele at High Stakes X, so how have things been for Caleb since then? Well, until now he hasn’t wrestled since High Stakes X, he got attacked by Austin James Mercer the following week only to be saved by Fenris and he released a song parody directed at Austin that was ignored by Austin.

Despite that, his last match of 2020 still ended with a win and that was all that mattered to Caleb and this week he was competing in the Main Event against the SCW World and Mixed Tag Team Champion Kris Ryans in a clash of champions match, Ryans was vacating one of those titles earlier in the night but regardless of his choice neither of their singles titles were on the line, can Caleb kick off 2020 with a win?

I have some things to clear up.

First, the whole Internet Title situation, yes, the title was handed to me and yes, I gladly took it from J2H, but I was always told that if I saw an opportunity, I should grab it, not my fault the other male wrestlers took issue with it, or that Austin decided to do something about it, and as for the weeks leading into High Stakes X?

Look, I had no doubt that J2H could kick Teddy’s ass blindfolded and with both hands ties behind his back, but I had my doubts as to whether J2H would keep his word or not, I may be a young wrestler, but I do know how cut throat the business can be.

No, I don’t know how I didn’t see Austin’s attack coming either.

Anyway, that brings me to this week’s match, my first match since High Stakes X in fact and I’m starting the year in a big way by facing Kris Ryans in a clash of champions match, neither title is on the line, but this will be a great opportunity for me to prove that I can hang in the Main Event against the World Heavyweight Champion and I’m not letting this opportunity slip through my fingers! And if I can pick up the win, all the better.

As for why I’m at the Go Gym, well……….

“That was some good training.” I heard a male voice ring out as two male trainees stepped into the reception area, the trainee who spoke was English, but I couldn’t tell you where he was from whilst the other guy was American. “Team Go really put us through our paces.”

“Ari may have some unique recipes and Carter may be, well, Carter, but they are graduates of the Go Gym and Ari is a champ for a reason and Carter’s a hell of a wrestler in his own right.” The American trainee nodded in agreement before they spotted me. “Caleb Storms?! Didn’t know you graduated from here.” He commented and I glanced up before shaking my head.

“If I did, they would’ve let me past reception.” I responded as I motioned to Angel. “And whilst I did train here to prepare for my last match against Fenris, that wasn’t a complete course, I’m here to surprise the wife.” I explained as I motioned to the flowers that I had brought with me. “And yes, I did clear this with Gabriel and Odette, otherwise I would’ve gone past reception.”

“Fair enough.” The English guy nodded in recognition before I pocketed my phone. “I’m Josh, he’s Kaden, we’re in the same class as Katie.”

“I gathered that.” I nodded as I looked the two guys over, they were good looking guys and in good shape, so they seemed to be poised for a bright future in SCW/wrestling. “How is Katie coming along?”

“She’s looking poised to be the top of the female class.” Kaiden explained and my eyebrows shot up when I heard that. “She’s coming a long a lot faster than we thought she would honestly.”

“She always was a bit of a fitness nut, I guess I can see her applying that same mindset to wrestling.” I nodded as I got the idea and the two guys nodded before they made their way to the parking lot. “You guys off home?”

“Training’s hard work, plus I want to catch the Climax Control promos.” Josh responded with a nod and Kaiden nodded in agreement. “Nice meeting you Caleb.”

“Likewise.” I nodded before they left.

*a few minutes later*

Once they had left the other trainees came out though they either didn’t notice me or didn’t stop for a chat, that is until Katie came out alongside another female trainee. “I heard your coming along well Katie.” I commented upon seeing her and she looked up before grinning as she saw the flowers.

“It hasn’t been easy but yeah, I guess you could say that.” Katie responded with a grin as I handed her the flowers, and we shared a quick kiss. “And please tell me you cleared this with Gabriel and Odette? You know this place is closed to the public.”

“First thing I did when I got the idea, sure beat brainstorming song ideas at the studio all day.” I responded with a nod before glancing over at the other female trainee. “I hope they aren’t going too easy on her.”

“Trust me, they don’t go easy on anyone, that’s how so many top tier wrestlers graduate from here.” The other woman responded with a thick Texas accent. “Name’s Caitlin by the way, I would say all me Cate but that would be confusing with your wife here.”

“Not really, since I just call her Katie anyway.” I responded with a shrug as the two women adjusted their bags. “You came all the way down from Texas to train?”

“Nah, I moved up to Vegas a few years ago, kept the accent.” Caitlin explained with a nod as I got the idea. “Saying that, one of the male trainees moved from England to train here.”

“Josh? I had a chat with him and Kaiden before they left.” I asked and Caitlin nodded once she got the idea. “Guess that’s not too unusual since Krystal moved from Australia to train here.”

“True but with the travel restrictions, there’s a lot more Americans in this year’s class than there usually are.” Caitlin shrugged her shoulders in response. “Josh got lucky in a sense, he moved here in 2018 but had to get in shape before he could try the gym, the before/after pics are jaw-dropping.”

“I’ll have to show him the pics later.” Katie nodded before she motioned to the door and I got the idea before leaving the gym with them.

*a few minutes later*

We got in the car after saying buy to Caitlin and as Katie was loading up the car I got in the driver’s seat and Katie sat in the passenger’s side before I started driving home with “Wings of Agony” by Lutharo playing through the CD Player.

“Caleb, be honest with me.” Katie sighed after a few minutes and after hearing her tone of voice I turned down the music. “Are you trying to make up with me?”

“Make up with you?” I asked with a confused look on my face and she nodded. “What do you mean?”

“All the antics you’ve pulled since we spent the summer in the Gold Coast, the song parodies, you know as well as I do how much stress it’s caused me.” Katie pointed out before shifting her weight. “And now you surprise me with flowers at the Go Gym? I’m half expecting to be greeted with a candlelit dinner when we got home!”

“How’d you guess?” I asked and Katie shook her head with a laugh. “Seriously, I may play a fool, but I have noticed how much stress you’ve been under, and whilst I didn’t earn the title the traditional way, the fact is that my title reign is bringing in the big bucks, enough for me to splurge out on some good quality food for the candlelit dinner, I figured you needed the treat.”

“Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the gesture, but you don’t have to go that far for me Caleb.” Katie assured me and I grinned in response. “I didn’t marry you because you splurged out to make me happy, I married you for who you are.”

“I know but at least we have a nice meal waiting for us.” I assured her with a grin which Katie returned before I drove off.

It was indeed a good meal and I do know how to cook very well, I volunteered to do the dishes as I knew Katie was still tired from the day of training and once that was done, I got ready to do my promo in my practice space.

“Okay, I’m not about to pretend that I earned this title, but the fact remains that I ended 2020 as champion and I intend to be a fighting champion to the bitter end! And what better way to show just that than by going toe to toe with the current World Heavyweight Champion himself Kris Ryans in this week’s Main Event where neither of our titles are on the line and the only thing that matters is bragging rights, well, that and what title Kris will vacate on Sunday, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.”

It seems obvious to me but I’m not a mind reader!

“The beginnings of our title reigns couldn’t be more different Kris, you earned the title in a hard fought match, I was given the title as an early Christmas present by a Hall of Famer but whilst that is true, I’m on a mission this Sunday Kris and that mission is to show the world that I’m not backing down from any challenge whether that be from my first challenger or from the World Heavyweight Champion himself, hell they could put me against Fenris next week and I wouldn’t back down!”

Honestly!

“But enough about my knight in sour armour and his problems with the biggest asshole on the SCW Roster, this is about you Kris and I know you’ll put up a hell of a fight and like I said, I’m not backing down from that fight, the real question is, will the new World Heavyweight Champion emerge as the winner of his first match as champion? Or will he stumble and allow the new Internet Champion to come out the winner? Personally, I know this can go either way, but it would be a hell of a way to kick off my Internet Title Reign by beating the new World Heavyweight Champion!”

It’s that simple.

“So, to whoever my first challenger is, watch this week’s Main Event closely because you’ll see the fight that you expect from me, whether that challenge will be at Inception V or in the weeks leading up to it! As for you Kris, I have three words for you, don’t underestimate me! I may have been given this title by J2H, but I’ll prove that I can be a worthy champion win, lose or draw and if I can do it by winning, it’ll be all the sweeter.”

And just to get this out the way.

“Yes, I know the way I got this title was controversial to say the least, I learned that the hard way when I got punched by Austin, but it’s not about how you start, it’s how you finish and as the new champ on the block I aim to do this title proud! The history books won’t remember the fact that I got handed this title by JK2H, they’ll remember that I was the champion after J2H and that’s all that matters, they’ll also remember that I beat Kris Ryans in my first match as champion and there’s nothing that anyone can say that will change that!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up!

“When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, when J2H gives you a championship he just won, you make the most of that opportunity and this Sunday I’m going to prove that if I had won this title the quote unquote “right way” by beating Teddy Steele in a match, I’d still be a worthy champion by bringing the fight to Kris Ryans because he had better brace himself because there’s a storm brewing, otherwise he’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms, your new Internet Champion!”

Caleb ultimately lost the match to Austin James Mercer but he didn’t go down without a fight taking two of Austin’s finishers to keep him down for the three count but the following week Caleb would make a big impact on his own and for the wrong reasons as he saw the current situation with Sin and used that for his latest song parody called “Roxi’s Soul”, a parody of “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne and had to be hid from Team Hero in the immediate aftermath.

However, Caleb couldn’t stay hidden forever, this week is the annual Halloween show (being hosted by the Addams Family) and Caleb was in action taking on the returning Jack D. The Ripper and Wolfslair’s Alex Jones in a Triple Threat Match and as per the tradition, the stipulation for that match would be determined on the night, can Caleb pick up another win?

Backstage at Climax Control, Sam’s Town, Las Vegas, Nevada

Katie told me it was a bad idea, maybe I should’ve listened to her instead of my one year old Labrador.

You get no prizes for guessing what I’m referring too but it’s my latest song parody that has gotten me in hot water with Team Hero and right now, Katie is pretty much pushing my to the parking lot of Sam’s Town after my parody had aired, luckily for us it was right before tonight’s Main Event which gave me plenty of time to leave.

Not that I want too.

“But I want to watch the Main Event!” I protested as Katie pushed me towards the parking lot, she weighs a hundred pounds less than I do yet she’s having no trouble in pushing me towards the parking lot. “And it was a funny………...”

“Don’t even start!” Katie interrupted me as she continued to push me out of the arena. “I told you, in detail, that this was a bad idea but rather than listen to your wife, you listened to the fucking dog!”

“But it passed the Lemmy test!” I continued to protest, and it continued to fall on deaf ears. “So, what if Team Hero got offended?”

“So what?! Caleb, Sin’s been attacking Bombshells for months, last week Jessie was her latest victim and she won the Roulette Championship tonight!” Katie responded before pausing as we were just outside the parking lot. “Okay, bad example, especially considering who she took the title from, but Sin is going after Roxi next and you thought that parody was a good idea!?” Katie added as she ran a hand down her face. “At least things can’t get worse.”

“Err, Caleb Storms?” We looked up and saw a stage hand approaching us with next week’s card in hand, Katie took it from him as my hands were occupied with trying to prevent her from pushing me into the parking lot and once she saw a match on the card she handed it back.

“Never mind, it just got worse.” Katie sighed to herself as the stage hand walked off and I gave her a confused look. “Next week’s the Halloween show and I was hoping that Jessie and Kedron would be defending their newly won titles and you had the week off, nope, they have the week off, the Bombshell Internet and the World Heavyweight Championships are on the line and you are in action.”

“Don’t suppose it’s the World Heavyweight Title Match, right?” I asked and Katie shook her head.

“Admittedly, I’d feel a bit better about that.” Katie admitted as she shook her head. “But no, Agostino Romano is Jack Washington’s challenger, you’re in a Triple Threat Match against Alex Jones and Jack D. The Ripper.” Katie added and I nodded as I started to process it. “Before you ask, I checked the match description, there’s only one mention of any championship and that’s the fact that Alex Jones is a former World Heavyweight Champion!” Katie added and I nodded as I got the idea but let my guard down letting Katie shove me towards the car.

“But I don’t get it, why wouldn’t you want me to wrestle?” I asked as I reluctantly got in the car and Katie got in the passenger side. “You want me to make money, right?”

“And I also want you to survive the night, Team Hero will be out for your blood unless I take over our side of the Twitter Account for a few days and go into damage control mode!” Katie responded before quickly getting her phone out. “At least you’re not doing something completely moronic, like going as Fenris for Halloween.”

“Err, yeah, about that.” I stated sheepishly and Katie looked at me like I had just admitted to being suicidal. “I brought the costume online……...”

“Caleb……...” Katie trailed off as she was clearly at her wits end at this point.

“I’ve been hiding it at the studio since I arrived, because I knew you’d burn it the moment you saw it.” I added and Katie ran both hands down her face. “It cost me a fair bit of money as well.”

“How much money?!” Katie demanded and I leaned in to whisper the amount in her ear, once she had processed the information she looked ready to throw me through a window, “There’s only one place where we have that kind of money and that’s in the Bloodstock savings, how much is left in there?!”

“More than enough for next year.” I assured her and Katie just face-palmed. “I ordered it months ago, it’s not like we where going to Bloodstock this year anyway thanks to the pandemic.”

“Okay, that’s true, I’ll give you that.” Katie responded as she took a deep breath. “I want to see that thing, if I don’t think it’ll piss off Fenris I’ll let you wear it, if it will, you had better be prepared to destroy it and ask whoever you brought it from for a refund.”

“You do know who your talking about, right?” Caleb pointed out and Katie nodded with an exasperated look on her face.

“I was there when you pissed him off Caleb.” Katie sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. “Both times! Now if you excuse me, I have damage control to do!” Katie added before she started tweeting.

Needless to say, the guy I brought the Fenris costume from refunded me in no time and Katie took me to a nearby costume store to buy a replacement, for a much cheaper price I might add, even so I had a match to promote so let’s get too it.

“It’s Halloween time again and you know what that means for me and the other members of the SCW Roster, that’s right it’s the annual Halloween Special and the only thing that’s different this year is the fact that neither Roulette Title is on the line, but enough about the matches that don’t involve yours truly because for this year’s Halloween special I’m taking on Alex Jones and Jack D. The Ripper in a Triple Threat Match!”

A terrifying one at that!

“I’m going to start with Jack D. The Ripper for one very good reason, the fact that Mark pretty much only booked him for this show because he’s, and I quote, “he’s a right scary fucker”, now in my opinion there’s only one thing that terrifies me more than the prospect of ever wrestling Fenris again and that’s………whatever that Mr. Blobby thing was that Krystal posted a gif off, seriously what are the English on?! But if Jack can’t scare me the same way Fenris or Mr. Blobby can then he shouldn’t be a problem!”

Next up is Alex!

“And I go from one Wolfslair member to another in Alex Jones, though I think if this week wasn’t the Halloween Special this match probably would’ve been just me against Alex Jones, but I digress! Alex, we’ve faced off before when you and Johanna were the Mixed Tag Team Champions alongside my partner Jessie Salco, now what happened last week involving Jessie and Johanna? Oh yeah! Jessie beat Johanna to end her Roulette Title reign after one defence and whilst a title isn’t on the line in this match, I still feel good about my chances at beating you in this match!”

It’s that simple.

“Jack is basically as scary as Barney the Dinosaur to me but then again I have a phobia of Fenris, so it takes a lot to scare me these days. Alex we’ve faced off before, but this time will be different as I will walk out the winner of this match! Feel free to stop laughing whenever you feel like it Alex but I’ll remind you that Johanna underestimated Jessie last week and it cost her the Roulette Championship and you know what they say about those who fail to learn from history.”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“They are doomed to repeat it! As far as I’m concerned Jack is an afterthought in this match because you Alex are my true target and I pretty much only started with Jack to get him out of the way! At the end of the day, Jessie started Wolfslair’s losing streak and I’m going to continue it in this match regardless of Jack’s involvement because you two had better brace yourselves as there’s a storm brewing, otherwise you’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms!”

Caleb had been out of action for several weeks in a row following his loss to Agostino Romano at the second Climax Control of the Supercard Cycle but since then Caleb had been under the impression that he had an Internet Title Match in his near future, so imagine his surprise when it was announced that Senor Vinnie was challenging Teddy for the title at Violent Conduct, still Caleb was undaunted as this week he was taking on a veteran who had become a mainstay in SCW since joining, one Stephan Callaway who Caleb had beaten before, can Caleb go two for two?

I could’ve sworn it was said somewhere that I was set to be Teddy’s next challenger, did I imagine that?

Then again, I’m still not sure what Jessie’s dream text was all about and that was a few weeks ago! Look, whatever the situation is for me at Violent Conduct in three weeks’ time will be dealt with when I get too it but until then I get to beat up Stephan Callaway again, yay!

Seriously, how does this guy get so many chances compared to El Dark who I had a great parody song lined up for? The guy even beat El Dark in a match! Then again, so has most of the roster!

Back to Stephan Callaway and frankly I’m not worried about this guy, what I am worried about is what’s in store for my at Violent Conduct now that my plans going into the event have apparently gone out the window since no one bothered to tell me that I wasn’t actually competing for the Internet Championship and I had to find out via this week’s card.

Weeks’ worth of song parodies down the drain, thanks a lot! But for now, my focus should be obvious and that’s picking up yet another win over Stephan Callaway!

“Nope, that song parody is no good.” I commented as I scrapped the song parody of Poison’s “Every Rose has it’s Thorn”, yes, contrary to what Belinda and Jason might think I do actually go through a few song parody ideas before settling on the best ones and the best ones are the ones that have made it to air, Lemmy has by my side sitting up as he watched me go through the ideas. “Do you have any ideas Lemmy?”

“Woof!” Lemmy responded excitedly and frankly I’m not sure what answer I was expecting out of my one year old Labrador.

“Trying to have a conversation with the dog again?” Katie asked as she entered my office, for those wondering how I was able to afford renting this studio space week in, week out, well it’s simple, I saved up my money whilst we were cooped up in the hotel, Lemmy walked up to Katie with his tail wagging and I was beginning to suspect that the bark was directed at her rather than me. “Did he give you any good ideas?”

“You say that, but I might end up doing a parody of “Who Let the Dogs Out”.” I responded getting a laugh out of my wife in the process. “Who’s dodging challengers? Teddy, Teddy, Teddy, Teddy.”

“That needs a lot of work.” Katie responded with a wince before shaking her head. “By the way, the bundle you brought with your European Metal Festival Alliance ticket last month finally arrived, as did mine for that matter.”

“They got my shirt size right, right?” I asked as I glanced over at my wife who nodded in response, generally I go for XXL at least but there have been situations where I received XL shirts due to miscommunication/language barrier, sometimes I get them refunded and replaced, other times I just give them to Katie because I know they fit her like a glove. “Good, after waiting for over a month that’s the last thing I need.”

“Agreed.” Katie nodded in agreement before I returned to my work, “How many song parodies are you writing anyway?”

“Is that a trick question? I’m trying to be prepared for any opponent in the coming weeks and I still haven’t settled on a parody for Stephan Callaway!” I responded with a semi-annoyed look on my face and Katie shook her head. “I’ll have one ready for this Sunday but right now my focus is on getting this promo done.”

“So, why aren’t you cutting a promo?” Katie asked with a raised eyebrow and I went to respond but couldn’t find the words. “Thought so, hold tight, I’ll get the camera.” Katie added before she left my office space with Lemmy in hot pursuit, or should that be fursuit? Wait, no, now I’m thinking of furries and my concentration is ruined.

Thankfully by the time Katie returned with the camera not only was my mind focused on the match, but I had picked a song parody after going through my discarded ones again, you want to hear it. Wait until Climax Control! Until then enjoy my promo!

“You know, I could bring up the fact that no one told me that Senor Vinnie was going to be Teddy’s next challenger for the Internet Championship and not me and saved me the trouble of wasting several weeks of good work but I won’t, starting now! Because this week, well I would say that I have bigger fish to fry but that’s a blatant lie, kinda like saying that Teddy Warren doesn’t need adult diapers whenever J2H is around, where was I? Oh yeah, this week I’m taking on perpetual underachiever (even though he’s supposedly a veteran of the business) Stephan Callaway in singles competition!”

Competition being said with massive air quotes!

“I swear the only reason Stephan wasn’t shown the door alongside El Dark earlier this week is because Stephan actually promotes his matches! But that’s just about the only praise I can give to the brave scot that I’m facing this week because his win/loss record is a joke! He’s only won one match this year and that was against the aforementioned El Dark whilst I have won several matches this year and that trend will continue this Sunday!”

This is a joke, right?

“How someone like Stephan Callaway continues to get title opportunities whilst I get overlooked is beyond me! I’d almost be tempted to call it for the complete joke that it is if it didn’t mean Mark having some excuse for this lined up for this week’s Climax Control and it would probably be related to my song parodies to boot! Oh, and by the way, the guy you can thank for my song parodies idea? He’s the current Internet Champ! Be sure to thank him this Sunday after I kick Stephan’s ass!”

Which won’t take long.

“Honestly, it will take me longer to come up with good song parody lyrics than it will to beat Stephan Callaway in this match, that’s how much of a joke in the ring he is! Oh, what’s that? He’s a veteran? And he’s held titles in several feds that I’ve never heard off? Get in line Stephan, your almost as bad as that Chet Dakota guy who got relevant for about five seconds because he spread some lies about SCW booking him and his buddy in a match, difference is? I’ve wrestled you, and I’ve beaten you!”

It’s that simple.

“And that brings me to my main point, Stephan we’ve been through this back when you were a fresh new face in the company all those months ago and it didn’t end well for you back then either! So, what’s the difference this time? The fact that several months have passed and you’ve managed to pick up one win that time, against El Dark, a guy who I’m fairly sure my Labrador Lemmy could beat in a fight!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up!

“Stephan you are fast on the track to becoming the biggest joke in SCW and I’ll be happy to speed along the process on Sunday! I have a song parody ready to go and once that has aired the only thing left for me to do is win this match because you had better brace yourself because there’s a storm brewing, otherwise you’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms both in the ring and in song!”

Katie cut the feed as the scene fades.

 Caleb lost the opening match to Malachi (in what ended up being a Dog Pound Match, fitting as both men owned dogs, following which he participated in a Battle of the Musicians against Teddy Warren on the drums whilst he played the guitar, Caleb would win that battle but despite being set up the following week for a rematch Teddy never showed up to return the favour, however Caleb would have to refocus this week as he had another match to prepare for.

And his opponent was none other than Malachi’s brother Lachlan Kaine, this match wasn’t under Roulette Rules like the match between Caleb and Malachi nor was it opening the show like the match between Caleb and Malachi but both men could use a win with Summer XXXTreme edging closer and closer but can Caleb pick up the all-important win?

Remember when we could go out without masks? Or attend concerts? Good times!

Yeah as we get closer to what would’ve been the dates for this year’s Bloodstock the lockdown has been getting to me a bit, frankly the only thing that has been keeping my sanity in tact since we entered into lockdown was the SCW shows, win or lose at least I had something to keep my mind in one piece and that brings me to this week’s show and my upcoming match, once again I am competing against an Irish Wrestler.

And sure enough, my opponent happens to be the brother of my last opponent.

That’s right, I’m facing Lachlan Kaine in singles competition two weeks after facing his brother in a Dog Pound Match which I’m convinced that the bosses added to the wheel when they realised how many dog owners were on the roster, don’t try to change my mind on this, you’ll fail miserably! At least I won’t have to worry about that stip coming up again this week on account of the fact that this isn’t a Roulette Rules Match but if it does come up again and I’m in the match I’ll laugh my ass off.

Especially if it’s up against Malachi again!

Well, after years of putting it off, I finally went ahead and signed up to a Netflix account, why did I wait so long? I don’t know but my viewing habits have been all over the place, ranging from classic Yu-Gi-Oh to Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (resulting in me trying to learn the intro theme’s riff on the guitar) to my current viewing pleasure, the 2017 reboot of Cold Case Files which I’ve been marathoning since yesterday.

And no, me and Katie have not been indulging in any Netflix and Chill, having a Labrador in the room with you makes it had to get in the mood for that!

“I swear, the NSA agent watching your Netflix account must be confused as all hell.” Katie commented with a laugh as she watched me check out the documentary series on Netflix, currently on the fifth episode. “Seriously, who goes from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to a true crime series that opens with the rape and murder of a twelve year old girl.”

“Someone who’s bored as all hell.” I responded with a shrug as I watched the series, Lemmy was lying down next to me and I’m beginning to think that the pooch is as bored of the lockdown as I am, Katie noticed this as well and grabbed one of Lemmy’s squeaky toys and it quickly got his attention as they engaged in a tug of war. “Remember when this year was promising to be one of the most exciting in SCW history?”

“You mean when SCW was doing the homecoming tour?” Katie asked and I nodded. “Say what you will about Jessie but her in ring promo when SCW hosted a show in her home city proved that it was going to be a big moment for the SCW roster members when they reached their hometown crowds, win or lose, I know you had big plans for when SCW came to Syracuse, New York.”

“Yep, and those big plans might go out the window if Covid-19 has it’s way.” I responded as I shook my head whilst Katie lost the tug of war to Lemmy and he paraded around the room with his toy in his mouth celebrating his win. “Saying that I’m almost afraid of what July will bring and we’re already ten days into the month.””

“Based on what I’ve seen on Facebook I doubt you’re the only one thinking that, at the rate we’re going I’m expecting a split ep between Justin Bieber, Nickelback and Rebecca Black to be released next week.” Katie responded half-jokingly and I gave her a look that basically said, “don’t joke about that” and Lemmy apparently agreed as he stopped his victory parade to growl at the suggestion. “Tough crowd, you want to get your promo done?”

“Sure, the episode I was watching was wrapping up anyway.” I responded as I glanced over at the Netflix App on my laptop and whilst Katie got the camera out, I paused the episode so that I could get started on my promo.

“Two weeks ago, I lost to Malachi in a Roulette Rules Dog Pound Match which I’m convinced the bosses added to the wheel as a joke! That being said, two weeks have passed and this week I’m taking on Malachi’s brother Lachlan Kaine in single’s competition, that’s right, two back to back matches against Irish wrestlers who just happen to be brothers, literally the only differences between the two matches are that this match isn’t a Roulette Rules Match nor is it the opening match, talk about luck of the Irish!”

Obvious joke out of the way……...

“Lachlan, you’ve been in SCW longer than your brother and you’ve had more success than him being a former Mixed Tag Team Champion, singles competition wise? Your luck hasn’t been so good but then again I’m not exactly one to talk having won exactly one Roulette Title Reign two years ago when SCW rebooted but if I have my way then my fortunes will change very soon and that starts with a win over you!”

As for the rest, I’ll cross those bridges when I get to them.

“That said I’m not discounting your talent for a second Lachlan because I know you’ll at least give me a decent challenge! Especially compared to my last PPV opponent but I don’t like to talk about how I wasted my time on that idiot! And speaking of PPVs, Summer XXXTreme is right around the corner and whilst Donna did explain how they were going to do the cruise given everything that’s going on in the world at the moment last week on Climax Control I still need to pick up a win heading into that show and you are right in my crosshairs.”

And my line of sight is perfect! I think.

“This match has the potential to be a show stealer between us but personally I’m focussed on building up momentum going into this year’s Summer XXXTreme show and as far as I see it? Your just a rung on the ladder to that show that I must overcome if I want to find some success at that show and I will overcome and beat you in this match if it’s the last thing I do in an SCW Ring! Well, hopefully it won’t be the last thing I do in an SCW ring because I still have the rest of my SCW career ahead of me!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Lachlan, we both want the same thing heading into Summer XXXTReme in two weeks’ time and that’s a win so that we can build up momentum but as far as I see it? I want the win that much more and I will avenge my defeat at your brother’s hands a fortnight ago no matter what so you had better brace yourself because there’s a metal storm brewing, otherwise you’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms as I head into Summer XXXTReme!”

Katie turned off the camera as the scene fades.
