Caleb had no match scheduled for High Stakes X. so what did he do? What else but issue an open challenge at the Go Home Show for High Stakes X to the tune of YMCA, it didn’t take long for the challenge to be accepted by a newcomer to SCW by the name of Tommy McMaster who had chosen the biggest show of the SCW calendar to make his debut, Caleb was coming off a win over Bill Barnhart two weeks ago and was looking to continue his winning ways and now only that but if J2H beat Teddy Steele he was going to give Caleb the Internet Championship, can Caleb win?

That went better than I expected.
And yes I’m talking about the Village People parody, given how many gay people are on the roster I was half expecting them to jump all over me for desecrating YMCA like that but the fact that I’m still in one piece should tell you otherwise.
And off course, that leaves on big question, who is my opponent at High Stakes?
“Well, at least that stunt didn’t get you on anyone’s bad side.” Katie commented as we walked towards our car ready to return home, we could see the Salco clan from across the lot, but Jessie was clearly still pissed off about the Roulette Title situation, so we chose to ignore them. “Well, aside from whoever accepts your open challenge.”
“All I’m saying is that I won’t complain unless Fenris flies back from Iceland to accept my challenge.” I responded with a nervous laugh and Katie shook her head before I got a text. “Well, that didn’t take long, someone’s answered my challenge.”
“Was it someone who wasn’t in a title match or someone from SCU using your challenge as an excuse to get booked on the biggest show of the year?” Katie asked and I shook my head in response to both questions. “Then who was it?”
“A newcomer.” I responded simply and Katie gave me a surprised look. “Guy by the name of “Wildfire” Tommy McMaster, Mark didn’t say much about him aside from the fact that he’s from Seattle, Washington. He’s a big guy, as in over three hundred pounds and that he thinks he’s a good guy.”
“He thinks he’s a good guy?” Katie asked before shaking her head. “Great, just what we need, another delusional wrestler in SCW! Come to think of it, when was the last time someone made their SCW debut at High Stakes?”
“Do I look like Mercedes Vargas?” I responded jokingly and Katie laughed in response. “I’ll read up on his profile when we get back home but Mark described him as a decorated champion in other companies.”
“The same can be said for Stephan Callaway and Maki and look at how well they are doing in SCW!” Katie pointed out as she shook her head. “At least Stephan’s competing at High Stakes after getting slammed off a second floor balcony, but Maki hasn’t been seen since her Internet Title Match against Myra, claiming that she got injured at some point.”
“Probably a good thing, considering Sin has called her out on several occasions.” I pointed out before we got in the car. “Can you drive? I’ve got some calls to make.”
“You’ve been saying that all week.” Katie stated as she got in the drivers’ seat. “Who exactly are you calling?”
“You’ll see.” I responded and Katie shook her head before driving off.

This is what I meant by phone calls.
You see, after my parodies started to pick up steam local musicians with nothing better to do (since, you know, COVID-19 and all that shit) started getting in contact with me interested in actually forming a band, yes, I’m serious about that, initially I dismissed it as a joke and I still had a batch of parodies to get through (not counting Roxi’s Soul, Who Let Bill Barnhart Out and Apology Train since they were written the same week they aired on Climax Control) hence why I used Skar Productions of YouTube fame for my first parody of the cycle.
But now? Things are getting interesting.
“Okay, pizza is on the way.” I commented as I approached the band members, narrowing things down was difficult as there a lot of talented metal musicians in Las Vegas but I pulled it off in the end, I would be sharing lead guitar duties with John whilst Louie played on Rhythm Guitar, that left Chris on Bass and Rick on Drums, it didn’t take us long to gel as a band (and it helps that they are all SCW fans) and hey, maybe once COVID-19 is a thing of the past maybe we’ll start writing original material and start touring, which would obviously depend on my SCW schedule. “You guys up for a jam?”
“You know it man.” John nodded in response before we shared a fist bump, Katie, Lemmy and Tom (a giant of a man who was a friend of the other musicians and would likely serve as a manager should we ever decide to make this an official thing) were sitting in the recording booth listening in as we played an Iron Maiden cover, I may be a good vocalist but I’m no Bruce Dickinson so you can imagine how well that went.
“This whole thing started as a publicity stunt to help his wrestling career.” Katie commented as she watched us play the song. “I had no idea that it would escalate this quickly.”
“Hey, sometimes things happen for a reason and they do seem tight.” Tom pointed out with a shrug as they watched us play. “Caleb was in a band before he joined SCW, right?”
“Yeah, a Death/Thrash Metal band called The Storm Within, music was great, but it never went anywhere, and Caleb made the decision to quit the band to start with SCW.” Katie explained with a nod as we continued to play. “The band dissolved not long afterwards but things were already on thin ice when a founding member of the band quit after a show and well, they never reconciled, off course Caleb’s had more success in SCW since then.”
“Those things happen in music I’m afraid.” Tom responded with a nod as we wrapped up the song. “The guys have all been in a few bands each, different styles of metal and all.”
“Remind me to ask them for details at some point.” I responded before there was a knock at the door (sending Lemmy into excited dog mode in the process) and I checked. “Caleb, the pizza’s here.” Katie said through the microphone and I set my guitar aside so I could go pay.
*promo time*
By now the members of my new band (plus Tom) have all left leaving me to put the final touches on my planned parody for High Stakes X, speaking off High Stakes X it was time that I got started on my promo.
“I will admit that when I issued the open challenge, I had no idea who was going to answer, and yes I know that’s the point of an open challenge, it could’ve been anyone on the roster, hell it could’ve been a returning Fenris, but as I said the first time I managed to piss off Fenris, thank god! Instead I’m taking on a newcomer to SCW in his first ever High Stakes Match as I am taking on “Wildfire” Tommy McMaster.”
Yeah, I know what you’re thinking.
“Who? Yeah, that was basically my reaction when I saw who had answered my open challenge but from what I gathered he joined SCW just in time to make his debut at High Stakes X and when I issued the open challenge, he jumped at the opportunity! That said, the size difference between me and Tommy definitely plays more into Tommy’s hands than it plays into mine as he’s six foot ten and weighs in at 324ibs whilst I’m 6ft 2 and weigh in at 220ibs, for those too lazy to do the math, that’s a height difference of eight inches and a weight difference of 104ibs, am I worried?”
Ha, no.
“Dude, I faced Fenris five times on separate occasions, once during my first Blast from the Past Tournament, then in a random singles match, then in a Fatal Four Way for the World Heavyweight Championship, then in a Lion’s Den Match and finally in a Six Pack Challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship, yes I have faced scarier people than you Tommy and frankly, I would’ve been worried if Fenris had answered my challenge instead, you? Your nothing to me!”
And I will win!
“You may not know me Tommy, but you will know me soon enough as the next Internet Champion, check the card if you don’t believe me, and the guy who’s going to beat you in your debut match! You made a mistake answering my open challenge Tommy but your clearly deluded enough to think that you are a good guy so you must’ve deluded yourself into thinking that you could beat a former Roulette and Mixed Tag Team Champion, spoiler alert, it aint happening!”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
“This open challenge was basically my way to ensure that I wasn’t left off the High Stakes X card and as luck would have it, the guy who answered it has the entire roster going “who?” as Tommy McMaster is choosing the biggest event of the SCW Calendar to make his debut and against me no less! But he’ll soon learn that he’s made a mistake as he had better brace himself because a storm is brewing, otherwise he’ll be blown away by the metal god of SCW “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms at High Stakes X!”
I walked off as the scene fades.
