Making History?
« on: March 01, 2013, 11:43:53 PM »
“What do you mean I cannot be there?”  An angry Carlos Duquesne slams his fists against the oak table, closing his eyes and letting out a very long sigh to calm himself down, he looks across the table to see his lawyer looking back at him smugly. “You’re saying that I am not allowed to step foot at Gold Coast Casino?”

The lawyer shakes his head “I’m afraid not” he clears his throat “One of the terms that Lucian has stipulated for his match with your client is that he and yourself are not permitted at the Blaze of Glory event on Sunday the..” He glances down at the contract in front of him, scanning through the details until he finds the date “..third of March”

Carlos cannot help but feel very annoyed as he looks behind him, Pernicious stands in close proximity of his agent with his arms crossed and his breathing apparatus distracting Carlos, he swivels in his chair to face the giant man “can you leave us please” Carlos spins back around as Pernicious takes his leave.

The door clicks as the lawyer slides the contract across the table “The match has been made official legally but it’s now down to Generation-X Entertainment and Sin City Wrestling when they want to promote it”

Carlos leans his elbows onto the table “Is there any way you can find a loophole to allow us to attend?” he grabs the contract up from the table and begins to glance through it.

“Unfortunately not” the lawyer instantly denies “If you want this match to happen then you’re going to have to coincide with the terms and conditions otherwise you’re going to null this agreement and thus preventing the arranged match”

Again Carlos slams his fists against the table “Damn!” he says with grit teeth. “I wanted to watch Lucian loose his tag team championships before witnessing his ultimate demise, I wanted to be the one who cost him that chance, I wanted so much to see the masked freak fall from grace as that injury catches up to him thanks to me!” Carlos leans back in his chair “Nevermind, I’m going to have to stream the event and hope that one of my thoughts comes true!”

The lawyer leans across the table to slide the contract back over to him “A man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams.” He places the contract into his briefcase and locks it “Your dreams may come true but you’re showing your age as regret is eating you, Carlos, don’t be biter and twisted as I’ve been your lawyer for a good number of years now!”  The lawyer has a slight hacking cough, covering his mouth with his handkerchief, wiping his mouth before continuing. “I urge you to stop this and consider retiring to the golf course, this business is going to be the death of you, Carlos, change your lifestyle and rejoice rather than sitting here hoping for the demise of a young man”

Carlos didn’t like what he was being told, covering his discontent with a smirk as he gets up from his seat and just stares at the lawyer “I am this business” he states firmly “without me some of the top independent wrestlers wouldn’t have achieved what they did, I didn’t wrestle for years just to retire with aching joints and a shattered mind, I will do this until my final breath and if it means being a twisted old man then so be it” he pulls out a cigar from his pocket “I am going to show the National Wrestling Alliance that without a Carlos Duquesne standing in their corner then they’re careers aren’t going to amount to anything, I didn’t gain a reputation of being a top sports agent for nothing. So thank you for your concern” he places the cigar into his mouth and snips the end of with solid silver clippers, he takes the cigar back out of his mouth “you have done your job and I’ll send you a personal copy of my triumph as that giant man defeats the masked freak so you can see me beaming like the Cheshire cat of the Alice in Wonderland tale!”

Carlos lights his cigar up and leaves the office with a slam of the door, Pernicious stands just outside it as he looks down at Duquesne, and Carlos takes a few deep puffs of his cigar leaving Pernicious to wave the smoke from his breathing apparatus. “That turned out to be a waste of time”  Carlos begins “But there is plenty of work to do”

===============================================================================

A lot have been made of his injury as of late having been left motionless by the giant Pernicious a month ago, having regular checks and tests to make sure he is medically cleared to compete, but Lucian Frost has a lot to show for it with what he’s achieved whilst being injured.
Progresses through the opening round of the Super J Cup, On the verge of capturing the WCCW Texas Heavyweight Championship, Successfully defended the SCW Tag Team Championships and Advancing through the Quarter-Finals of the Super J Cup.
The chance to go through to the Super J Cup Semi-Finals is a huge achievement having defeated the current SCW bombshell champion, Vixen, to claim his spot in the final four with the semi-final a repeat of two thousand and twelve super j opening contest, facing the former two time bombshell and NWA cruiserweight Champion Misty, for the chance to represent SCW in the finals.

Before he can even imagine those prospects is the latest match at Blaze of Glory, his SCW Tag Team Championship on the line, a similar scenario when they captured the championships as it’s another Triple Threat contest. Young Lions have finally got their rematch against Blood Omen with the added team of Casper Grey and Goth, two teams Blood Omen have defeated in the past in classic bouts. Blaze of Glory holds a special place in the heart of Lucian Frost; this is the second time that he’ll grace this show as a defending champion, having defended his then Roulette Championship successfully against Bruce Evans. If Blood Omen successfully retains then Frost would be the first man in the promotion’s history to go into two separate Blaze of Glory events as a champion and leave it too.

Kain and Lucian would have been tag team champions a total of Seventy Seven Days, officially the second longest reign in the promotions history, a long way off the standard of their predecessors Sinful Obsession. A lot of people didn’t think the partnership between the two would work, Kain himself putting doubt in Frost as being a reliable partner after a bad history of teammates, however the duo have managed to defend and work as a successful unit from the get go against worthy foes. Lucian knows that this is going to be the true test when they stand in one corner looking at the young lions standing in one, Goth and Casper Grey standing in the other, his body hasn’t had the chance to rest like his partner Kain or the rest of them as he competed in the Super J a week ago, if there reign was to end then Frost would souly put the blame on himself. They are the right team to hold the championships, even if they did lose the belts to Young Lions or Goth and Grey, Blood Omen will come back stronger, wiser and beating Sinful Obsession to the punch by recapturing the belts for a historic second time.

The match against the potential first bombshell grand slam winner, Vixen, had taken its toll on Lucian’s body as he’d spent the majority of the week recovering in preparation for Blaze of Glory, having already passed a medical midweek but it doesn’t change the fact that his neck is screaming in pain. Lucian stands in the bathroom of his rented room, his wrestling attire crumpled up on the bed, a towel wrapped around his toned body as he grabs a hold of his neck with his bare hand. He twists the tap of the shower and steps inside, the water hits his bare body as he stands with his back towards the showerhead, allowing the water to land on his bare neck, Lucian had enough of baths and other relaxing technics in the hope to recover for Blaze of Glory. The time has come to train and train hard. Getting into his training gear after towelling himself dry, wearing his mask to cover his scars as he steps out of his hotel and heads to the gym a few blocks away. The gym itself was almost reminiscent of the one he learnt to train in down in Mexico, a derelict building with a rusty ring and training equipment.

***FLASHBACK***

Local legend Emilio Riviera didn’t need to take such a young man underneath his wing like he did, could of enjoyed his semi-retirement setting his business venture with the manufacturing of authentic replica Mexican Masks, but this young man had travelled far to him and get trained in the tradition art of lucha libre. Emilio set him through his paces within the ring learning the basics to advancing it to basic high flying moves, allowing the young man known only as Frost to pick his own mask, choosing the one which Emilio had not seen before with the design of a uniquely stitched design of a skull on it. Emilio had never seen or encountered a person who picked up this style of wrestling so quickly, every time Frost wore the mask his abilities in the ring heightened, Riviera managed to get a few matches for the young man with local travelling promotions in the area to which Frost impressed.

Frost had to use wrestling as his output due to the violent crime that happened to him only a few months previous, he’d loved watching professional wrestling on television but never once contemplated ever being a wrestler, the violent knife attack which left him scared left him no other choice than to seek the tutorage and begin life as a masked man. Frost could of endured the life of being scared, having to be taunted and mocked by men and children alike, having to live with the scared and repulsive looks by people but the pain of what it’ll do to his family would of killed him the most. His father always supported him and loved him no matter what. This would shatter and destroy his reputation within the small community, his mother left to watch her husband and son terrorised for the rest of their lives, the family would be bonded by love but left in a life of fear. This outlet was Frost’s way out to keep his family safe from torment  and living a semi-normal life even if his out view on life was through two eyeholes of a spandex mask.

Emilio opened the doors of his warehouse, flicking the switch as the sound of the electric current surging through the lights above is heard, they flicker on to show the old derelict building with a rusty ring situated near the back with weight lifting equipment and old style row and bike machines there too. He walks over and slides into the ring with the springs underneath the ring squeaking, Emilio begins to run and bounce into the ropes a few times before stopping in the middle of the ring, the lights begin to flicker a few times and then switching off for a brief second. As the lights come back on Emilio is shocked to see Frost standing in front of him in his skull mask and wearing his training gear.

“Usted Bastardo” Emilio says in shock, looking the young masked man up and down, glancing over at the door and the stillness of the ropes before looking cautiously at him “how did you do that?”

Frost didn’t know if it was a good idea to show his mentor his new found power, he had experimented over the past few weeks in different parts of the village, utilising the shadows as his ally rather than his enemy.  “I have been given a gift” he begins “one that’ll change me for the better, Emilio”

Emilio shakes his head “you’ve been dealing in black magic, haven’t you” Emilio begins to mutter a prayer to himself.

“No” Frost chuckles “If I was doing sorcery I’m sure I’d not be in a wrestling ring” he begins to walk around his mentor “I’ve been given this power to allow me to utilise my surroundings, using them as my friend”

Emilio climbs out of the ring “I think you need to get out of my ring and leave this place”

***CURRENT DAY***

It had been a long time since he thought about his old mentor, Emilio, last year he had tried to get back into his life but to no avail. If he hadn’t of shown his enigmatic ways to Emilio then he’d might of made Lucian into a much better luchadore, but Frost is who he is and he hasn’t done to badly with the mentoring he’s been given, perhaps he had learnt everything from the master without realising it. Frost slides into the ring as it gave the familiar squeaking springs, the automatic senses of Mexico come rushing back into his mind, his young mind keen to learn and ready to do what it takes to become a professional wrestler. The sharp pain in his neck brings Lucian back to reality with a thump, those days are in the distant past, his training for Blaze and Glory begins today in the hope that he’ll successfully defend his Tag Team Championships.

Several hours pass by with Lucian doing a very high intensity work out with one of the trainers nearby, monitoring his progress and making sure he took the precautionary time out between each work out, Lucian’s body really needs to recover but unfortunately there was no time to spare with Blaze of Glory a few days away and his commitments to the Super J returns when he faces Misty and if he competes on the next Climax Control too. Having finished a sparring session In the ring, Lucian sits on the ring apron with a bag of ice on his neck, he glances around the room to see other men and women training with ease. The injury is making him feel like an old man, restricted to do his normal life and normal training regime, he’d love to be able to do his training without the sharp pain in his neck and spar without the agonising pain too. It has come to the point where Lucian had considered stepping away to get the treatment needed. The most sensible solution is also the most costly.

Lucian asks the training to pick up his bag, inside is the converted Sin City Wrestling Tag Team Championship belt, the gold glistens from the light with the black strap smelling of leather, he places it on his shoulder and looks down at the strap he’s held for quite some time.

“It may not be the most competitive division within the promotion, with all eyes fixated on the Heavyweight strap, but when they’re faced with the opportunity to capture this gold then suddenly it’s the most important belt on their agenda!”

The cameraman for Sin City Wrestling begins to record with Frost just staring down at the main plate of the championship belt.

“I had never had a match with Kain, nor have I partnered with him in the SCW or elsewhere, we’d never exchanged a conversation or been in the same room as one another prior to our championship reign. We were thrown together and the rest is history, we defeated the longest reigning champions and giving the young lions their first SCW defeat, we have since made this division interesting with the young lions wanting to overthrow us and the new lethal lottery pairing in Casper Grey and Goth. Casper said a few weeks ago that the tag titles is a championship ‘he’s not counting for ’ and Goth saying that the belts ‘will have to do’. That isn’t the mentality of becoming champions, a man who didn’t count on an opportunity for tag belts and Goth who’d rather have a fixation on beating Kain with little care or consideration for the tag team belts he could potentially win!”

“A true champion can adapt to anything, a true champion has it in their heart.. I don’t go after championships if it’s the ‘will have to do’ mentality, do you think the Olympic gold medallists or NWA World Heavyweight Champions have that sort of mentality when they went into their championship encounters? I don’t think they did somehow, do you? A true champion will fight through anything! Compete against all challengers to prove why he is on top of the mountain! They didn’t get there because they wanted to beat one person so it’ll have to do, do they Goth, if this was the heavyweight championship on the line I’m sure that reasoning would be different but because it’s the tag team scenario then it’s not worthy? There's always the motivation of wanting to win. You have yours Goth, wanting to beat Kain but Everybody has that. But a champion needs, in his attitude, a motivation above and beyond winning! You may want to educate Kain but he’ll be the one educating you in what it takes to be a champion!”

Frost looks into the camera, luckily the mask he wears covers the wince as a sharp pain goes down his neck and spine, he readjusts the belt before he continues to talk.

“The Young Lions, Max Burke and Trevor Irons, you deserved a rematch due to outside interference and unfortunately you have to ‘share’ it with Casper and Goth, it is a shame but unlikely as it is you’re not going to allow this opportunity to slip you by, as you said it’s a tag revolution, someone who knows the meaning of the tag team championships unlike the lethal lottery picked team in Goth and Grey, you have the heart to become champions and one day that’ll happen but it’ll be Blood Omen versus Young Lions for a long time yet, I’m sure you realise that we’re the forefront of this ‘revolution’ with Sinful Obsession’s NWA World Tag Commitments, I have no problems with it and I look forward to facing you at Blaze of Glory once more and let the best team win!” Lucian tapes the main plate with his finger. “I have come accustomed to being a champion so don’t think this ‘respect’ is going to be short sighted on my behalf, I look forward to your challenge but I also look forward to walking out still holding this championship!”

“Goth your hatred towards my partner, Kain, could prove to be your ally in this contest but your anger, hatred and passion to defeat him could also be your undoing. Like an army going into an abandoned city, chasing its target with their eyes only set on it, finally they corner the target with the man unable to escape as the army take aim to eliminate him. But because they’ve ignored everything else, their surroundings and potential other threats, the target is able to walk free with the army being captured and eliminated by unsuspected threats. The moral of that is that although you’ve mentioned me and the young lions, your focus is on my partner and your inability to see the whole picture may prevent you in actually succeeding in your quest thus able to see the weakness you have. I don’t blame you for hating Kain, what he has said and all the challenges he’s made, but he’s proving a point that no matter how big or small the challenge or challenger is, his heart and desire burn strong and his willingness to succeed and win out beats most within this promotion!”

“You want to prove to be a champion once more, open your eyes fully and see that the main threat isn’t just Kain, you’ve got the Young Lions, you have got myself but more importantly you have to see that your partner is just as ‘silent’ as me! Kain maybe your target, as it where, but in order to succeed you need a ‘bond’ if you will, something me and kain share in, you see he maybe the things you say but we make a good tag team. When we win this Sunday at Blaze of Glory, we’ll be a great tag team, because we’ve faced all challengers put before us and we’ll have come out on top! Young Lions maybe the future and I’ll sure as hell look forward to meeting them in competition, I hope you, goth, can sort your differences out with Kain man versus man in the near future, I’m sure Kain will be counting the days until that encounter, but you’ll not be walking out with our tag team championships”

“As I look to make history at Blaze of Glory, being the first man to walk in as a champion and walk out making me two for nothing at the event, I hope to cement our place at the top of the tag team mountain, with victory against the young lions and against Casper Grey and former two time Roulette Champion, Goth. See you all this Sunday!“

The cameraman stop filming, lifting his thumb up in acknowledgement that it was a good take, he begins to pack his camera away as Lucian gets off the ring apron and grabs his bag, Lucian places the championship in the bag and walks out of the gym. He hoped that wasn’t going to be his last address as the SCW Tag Team Champion, he was facing a tough challenge in Goth as well as the young lions, but he’d not finished what he started with Kain to make the division a success and be at the front of it.

===============================================================================

The nightclub to which Carlos had purchased is back up and running after Lucian’s invasion a few weeks ago, the staff prepare for a busy night by replenishing the alcohol and cleaning everything before the general public enters, Carlos is sitting behind his desk as he watches the latest streamed video by Lucian Frost.

“Your time is almost up, my boy” Carlos takes a swig from his glass “I may not be there at Blaze of Glory but you won’t have anywhere to hide once Pernicious gets hold of you, especially with your neck being so fragile!”

Pernicious steps into the office as the music begins to blare throughout the club, Carlos switches the screen off, Pernicious just stands guard by the door watching his agent as he drinks the remaining amber liquid in his glass.

“I won’t be silenced” Carlos says “I will get my revenge on that ungrateful toad!”

Pernicious walks over to the desk “I will see to it that he’ll not only lose his ability to walk but also shamed!” his metallic voice makes the hairs on the back of Carlos’ neck stand on end.  “Lucian’s days are witling down and I cannot wait to destroy him!”

Carlos begins to laugh as the giant heads back over to the door, Carlos gets up  and stands by the observing window, a few people begin to come into the club as he watches on. It’ll only be a matter of time before his match is sanctioned in the SCW, and when it is he’d hoped these months of attacks and offers wouldn’t be in vain, that Carlos Duquesne will stand proudly in the ring as his chosen protégé destroys his chosen client by breaking his neck.
