 {Keira sits on the couch in their apartment, arms folded, looking flustered and bored. Roxi has changed into her costume, and heads towards the window, but not before noticing Keira sitting there.}

Roxi – You going to be okay?

Keira – I’m so bored. I want to be out there.

Roxi – You’re serving your suspension. You can’t go out there, and I’m not getting in trouble over it.

Keira – I told them I didn’t mean to!

Roxi – Keira, you snapped his neck. You let Sin take over. You can’t do things like that! Seriously!

Keira – It was heat of the moment thing... I swear. If that stupid woman would just leave us alone….

Roxi – She did that on purpose. She’s testing you, and now, she knows how to get to you.

Keira – I just want this to be over. And Sin can end it.

Roxi – That’s not what we’re about Keira! You know that. And now, this type of thing is the result. You need to just relax, I’ll be alright.

{Keira turns towards Roxi who is edging closer to the window.}

Keira – I have to worry about a lot of things now. How do I know you’re not going to…you know…

Roxi – I’m fine. After the past couple of days, I think I’ve had my fill for a while.

Keira – But there’s no way to know! And you said they were getting stronger!

Roxi – Keira, I may get urges, but it’s not like I’ll just drop everything when I see an attractive person. I know what I’m doing.

Keira – I just wish I could make sure of that.

{Roxi stops at the window frame, getting annoyed at the argument. She turns back to Keira.}

Roxi – Hey, you put this thing inside me! And I have to try and find a way to get it out of me, without taking away my abilities! We wouldn’t have this problem if you hadn’t gotten back with Sin!

Keira – I told you, it was the only way to save you!

Roxi – There could have been another way. What you did for me, I will be forever grateful for, but at this point, the negatives far outweigh the positives here. I don’t like it one bit. I don’t like Sin being inside you, and I don’t like Lust inside me.

Keira – You don’t like what Sin did for me?

{Keira stands up, lifting up her shirt to expose her rock solid abs. She smiles as she looks down, and then let’s her shirt fall back down.}

Keira – She gave me this body. I think merging with her was a good thing. Maybe in the long run, you’ll see that too.

{Roxi turns away from Keira, and opens the window.}

Roxi – I’m not dealing with this. I’ll be back.

{Roxi sits on a rooftop, overlooking the burnt down warehouse where she last saw Harold Peterson.}

Maybe there’s something here…

{Roxi lands, and looks around, the building is once again under construction, but the construction is just getting underway, and there’s a cleanup in effect. Roxi uses her flashlight to search around the ashes for anything of worth. Roxi sees the burnt boxes laying around, having been put out before it completely burnt up. Roxi notices the label on the side.}

Ham…. Hamilton Tech? This isn’t good.

{Roxi continues to walk around, until she finds the area where Harold Peterson was last seen. Roxi notices the ground is the same, covered in ashes. She kneels down and begins looking around the area.

If Peterson was dead, there’d be less ashes where his body would be. And this entire area is covered. Now if there…

{Roxi brushes aside more ashes, and uses her UV light on her flashlight, spotting the abnormal sized footprint in the ground.}

Great…. Just great.

{Roxi opens her wrist communicator.}

Roxi – Vision, I need a favor.

Vision – And what’s what?

Roxi – I need information, on the fire.

Vision – Roxi, you know I can’t. You cannot have an involvement with that.

Roxi – I simply need to know who exactly worked on the fire department and rescue for it.

Vision – What? Why?

Roxi – Because unless one of them has a size 16 shoe, I think we might have a problem.

Vision – You know you can’t be there!

Roxi – Just call it independent research. I need names Vision.

Vision – I’ll see what I can do. No promises.

Roxi – Get back to me as soon as you can.

Vision – What are you doing?

Roxi – I have to look into Hamilton Tech, and have a chat with an old friend.

Vision – Be careful, I really don’t want you both suspended now. You keep digging, and no amount of explaining will stop them from kicking you both out.

Roxi – I’ll be careful.

{Roxi arrives at Hamilton Tech. She watches as Heather leaves, gets into her car, and drives away. Roxi tails her, finally catching up with her at her private estate. Roxi overlooks the area with her binoculars.}

Hmm… Private location, lots of armed guards, and dogs… Heather takes her privacy seriously. Oh well.

{Heather enters her home, and kicks off her shoes before sitting on the couch and leaning back, letting out an exasperated sigh. Heather sits up and pours herself a glass of wine, both readily available on her table. She gets ready to take a sip, but Roxi is in the house, and takes the glass out of her hand.}

Heather – Hey! What the…?!

Roxi – I need to talk to you.

Heather – You?! How did you get in here?!

Roxi – Your door was open. I need information from you.

Heather – I don’t owe you anything! The last time you were around I got kidnapped!

Roxi – And I saved you. I’m not here to fight, I just want to talk.

{Heather gets up, brandishing a fireplace poker.}

Roxi – This is a joke, right?!

{Heather swings, narrowly missing as Roxi dodges.}

Roxi – This is not a joke.

{Heather keeps swinging, but Roxi moves aside each time, finally, using position and leverage to takes the fireplace poker from her.}

Roxi – Enough! Calm down! I just want one thing, and I’ll be out of your hair.

Heather – What do you want!? Money? Drugs? Men? …. Women?
Roxi – I’m going to ignore that, I need you to tell me about 38th and Grand.

Heather – It’s an address.

Roxi – I’m aware of that. I need to know what Hamilton Tech had there.

Heather – A warehouse, it was filled with… stuff.

Roxi – What kind of stuff?

Heather – Stuff that is none of your business. I don’t have to incriminate myself!

Roxi – I really don’t care what your company does. I know it’s illegal. I need to know what was in that warehouse.

Heather – Why? What so important about that. It’s all burnt down anyway.

Roxi – Because I can tie Hamilton Tech to two deaths if you don’t.

Heather – Are you trying to blackmail me? You can’t! Besides, no bodies were recovered from there! You’ve got nothing!

{Roxi finally snatches Heather up by the collar, pinning her against the wall.}

Roxi – Look Ms. Hamilton, I don’t have time for this! All I need is what was in those boxes….Wait, how did you know about the bodies?

Heather – You think my company would have one of their buildings burn down and not know the specifics of what happened? We’re not as stupid as you think.

Roxi – Apparently not. Yet they employ you…

Heather – Shut up!

Roxi – Look, Just tell me about the boxes.

Heather – First, let go of me!

{Roxi finally does so.}

Heather – You almost wrinkled this dress. Do you know how much this cost!

Roxi – The boxes!

Heather – Fine! Jesus you’d think a superhero would be more understanding! Anyway, the boxes, I believe they had some experimental polymer in them. Was supposed to be for some kind of armor or something. It didn’t work, so we had to discontinue it.

Roxi – Why didn’t it work?

Heather – It was highly flammable. Not very useful for body armor.

Roxi – Was that so hard?

Heather – You’re so rude! You break into my house, and try to blackmail me, you’re lucky I didn’t crack by nails by Liz nail polish!

{Roxi rolls her eyes and scowls under her mask.}

Roxi – Nails by Liz…. I remember why I never liked you.

Heather – I’m super important, and way more popular than you’ll ever be. I guess that’s why you have a mask on!

{Roxi angrily points at Heather}

Roxi – I…. I don’t have time for this. Good night Ms. Hamilton.

Heather – That’s right, run! Run before I really mess you up!

{Roxi opens the window and exits the house. Heather goes to the window to watch.}

Heather – Stop that woman! She stole from me!

Oh…crap.

{Roxi has to maneuver out of the area, dodging bullets and dogs as the alarm sounds, wailing away as Roxi makes a mad dash for the exit. Finally escaping, Roxi shakes her head, as the guards remain on high alert for her.}

Why does everyone have to make this difficult!

{Roxi’s wrist communicator goes off.}

Roxi – *huff* Vision?  *huff*

Vision – Rox… I… Wait, why are you breathing so heavy? Is everything okay?

Roxi – Peachy. *huff* what do you have for me.

Vision – I got the list of names for the fire and rescue on duty that night, no one above 6’1”.

Roxi – So either someone has HUGE feet, or we might have a huge problem.

Vision – What would that be?

Roxi – Harold Peterson might still be alive.

Vision – You better report this.

Roxi – It’s not concrete, but all signs point to it being the truth. I want to be exactly sure before I let someone else take over.

Vision – Speaking of which… Roxi… what is all this about? I mean, your apartment burns down, and you beat put in the infirmary, what is going on?

Roxi – I wish I knew Vision. But if it’s what I think it is, I’ll never forgive myself.

Vision – Is…. Is this about Claire?

Roxi – I want to say no Vision, I really do.

Vision – You don’t think…?

Roxi – Part of me does. Look, I’ll….talk to you about it later, I’ve got to get back.

Vision – Rox, please be careful.

Roxi – Always am!

{Roxi swings away.}

{Roxi returns to the apartment, finding Keira there, sitting and watching TV. She sees Roxi, and frowns.}

Keira – Oh, looks whose back.

{Keira turns back to the TV and resumes watching the Simpsons.}

Roxi – Keira… I told you, you can’t come with me on this.

Keira – And you just leave me to do it alone!

Roxi – I never want to leave you alone here. I hate the fact that you can’t come with me. But it’s our job! I just did some digging, and I know if I’m right, we’ll need everyone we can get.

Keira – … You did this without me?

Roxi – Keira, I didn’t plan it that way, I just…had to be sure.

Keira – No! You finally got some work done now that I’m not around! I see how it is!

Roxi – Keira, I would never do that!

Keira – Whatever.

Roxi – Keira….

{Keira ignores Roxi and turns up the volume on the TV.}

Keira – Ha! Everything is coming up Milhouse!

{Roxi tries to again get her wife’s attention, but thinks better of it, and simply walks into the bedroom and changes. Sighing after coming back out after a few minutes. Roxi walks to the TV and shuts it off.}

Keira – Hey! I was watching that!

Roxi – We need to talk.

Keira – Talk about what? How you never wanted me as a partner? Happy to be solo again?!

Roxi – Keira, it’s not like that! At all! I love that you are my partner! I simply took an opportunity because…

Keira – Because you’re trying to do this alone. Just the way you want it!

Roxi – No. It’s because I had to get everything ready so I could tell you the whole story.

{Keira arches a brow, seemingly interested.}

Keira – Story? About what?

Roxi – About Claire.

{Keira scoffs.}

Keira – I thought that was too personal for you…

Roxi – It was. But given the circumstances, given everything that’s about to possibly happen… I need for you to know everything.

Keira – … Really?

Roxi – Yes, really.

{Keira moves over on the couch, and Roxi sits in the spot.}

Keira – Okay, so talk.

Roxi – I should have told you about Claire a long time ago, but it was just too fresh… But you need to know this. I know that I was wrong about keeping that from you.

Keira – So… who was Claire?

Roxi – Claire is…was… my best friend. I grew up with her here. We went to high school together. And, after that, she moved away to Chicago, and we sort of lost contact. Then I started wrestling, and boom, we re-connected.

Keira – What happened?

Roxi – She… she showed up at the old apartment, and she stayed for a couple of days, or… that was the plan anyway…. I… I went out, trying to find that serum I used to heal. Turns out Harold Peterson kidnapped him and was forcing him to create the serum in mass quantities to create an army.

Keira – Like the one the imposter has…

Roxi – Exactly. So, I had to stop them, and in between doing that and checking in on Claire… Claire…kind of saw what I do.

Keira – You mean Lady Bedlam?

Roxi – Yeah... So, I tried to make her stay away while I took care of Peterson. But…he was too strong. He probably would have killed me if not for Claire. She…she saved my life. At the cost of her own. She and Peterson were both caught in that fire at the warehouse. I had to get the Doctor out, but I…. I…

{Keira sees the tears rolling down Roxi’s face as she talks, her voice cracking as the emotion overtakes her.}

Roxi – I… uh… I couldn’t save her. She was trapped, under these…pallets… I tried, I really did! I wanted to save her so much! But I… I couldn’t save her.

{Roxi’s head drops as she begins to weep. Keira hugs her tightly as Roxi slowly regains her composure.}

Roxi – I… I’m sorry.

Keira – It’s okay. I know you tried. You try hard for everyone.

Roxi – I… I felt so horrible leaving her there. She told me to. She told me to leave. I didn’t want to, but she made me. After the building burned down, I went back, I tried to find them, tried to get anyone out, trying to any signs of them…

Keira – And…

Roxi – There was nothing. I spent days trying to find anything on Claire. Anything that would help me find some closure. I needed it. I didn’t eat, I didn’t sleep… I wasn’t going to stop until I found her.

Keira – …. That’s… that’s why you’ve been so secretive.

Roxi – I… This was just too personal. I let her down Keira. I let her down.

Keira – No, you didn’t.

Roxi – I did Keira. She’s gone now… Because of me.

Keira – Wait… Do you think that…

Roxi – I really hope not Keira.

Keira – I’m really sorry Roxi… About everything.

Roxi – I… I should have told you before. It why I wanted to keep you away. I don’t want another casualty on my hands.

Keira – I see that now. But we’re a team. And we’re going to get through this.

Roxi – I hope so.

{Roxi stands up, and goes into the bedroom.}

Keira – Where are you going?

Roxi – Have to pack for Pittsburgh.

Keira – Just…be careful.

Roxi – Always am.

I never thought I’d ever have to tell that story. I really hate keeping things from Keira. But the truth is I never wanted to tell that story, it’s my greatest failure. It’s something I wanted to just close the book on, skip the chapter and be done with it. But of course, of course it has to rear its ugly head again. I guess you can’t escape your past forever. But with everything adding up to the inevitable conclusion, I guess I’ve just been trying to convince myself, more than anything, that what I truly think can’t be true. I just refuse to believe it. But there it is, staring me right in the face.

Maybe it’s time to just accept it. Keira can’t really ever replace Claire, even though she’s my wife. I still keep a picture of Claire in my purse for crying out loud. I can never let her go, even though I always wanted to.

But now, Peterson may be back, still alive and kicking, and that’s not good for anyone. Now, this idea that this imposter could be a clone or something similar sounds more and more logical. Peterson could have been keeping tabs on me this whole time. Laying low, waiting for his revenge. I cost him everything, and now, he had picked this time for revenge. He sent that imposter to track me, to learn about me, and fight like me. He did it.  I’m going to need all the help I can get with this. Why is it during important battles in the ring, I have ridiculously personal ones outside the ring?

Now this is all about to come to a head. I know what lays ahead, and it’s not going to be pretty, or fun. But there’s nothing left her, but to handle this the way I know I’m going to have to. I have to take the fight to them.

{The door to Roxi’s apartment opens and Roxi drops her bags on the floor, as Roxi sees Keira standing with her back to her.}

Roxi – Keira?

Keira – Hey.

Roxi – Uh… What’s going on?

Keira – Nothing. Why?

Roxi – Why are you standing there like that?

Keira – No reason…

Roxi – Keira? What did you do?

Keira – I may have done something.

{Roxi closes the door and walks towards Keira. Spinning her around…}

Keira – Surprise!

{Keira holds a puppy in her hands! Roxi’s face lights up as Keira had hidden the puppy from sight. Roxi laughs as the puppy licks her face.}

Keira – I thought you’d like her.

Roxi – I do! Oh my goodness how…when did you get her?

Keira – Today, just had to make sure I got her before you came back. I uh… kinda went out and did a little shopping, I was feeling a little sorry for myself, but after that talk we had, I knew I had to make it up to you for being a little on the bitchy side.

{Roxi sits on the floor petting the dog.}

Roxi – Keira, it’s alright. I know you meant well.

Keira – No, I deserved that. I was thinking that maybe you’d….

Roxi – I’d what?

Keira – You know… find… someone else….

Roxi – Keira, you’re my wife. I would never do that to you!

Keira – People love you Roxi. They look up to you. And you are a flirt sometimes.

{Roxi stands up, picking up the puppy in her arms.}

Roxi – Keira, let’s not argue about this right now. There’s a puppy to play with!

Keira – I know.

Roxi – So… what should we name her?

Keira – I still say Kexi.

Roxi – You say Kexi for everything.

Keira – Fine. You pick one.

Roxi – What about Gypsy?

Keira – It reminds me of Cher.

{Roxi giggles at the visual.}

Roxi – Okay, okay, what about…. Trixie?

Keira – I…. I love it.

Roxi – C’mon Trixie, let’s go play!

{Roxi carries Trixie towards the door, Keira coming behind her with a leash and collar.}

Keira – Good thing we already had a collar.

Roxi – ….Sometimes I wonder about you.

Keira – It’s your collar.

Roxi – Shut up! Trixie doesn’t like when you make fun of her new mommy!

Keira – Hey! I’m her mommy too! I was mommy first!

{Roxi turns and heads towards the door with Trixie, Keira tagging along.}

So, this is it, so to speak, itsn’t it? Misty, Amy Marshall, and myself against Delia, Mercedes, and Veronica. I don’t need any sort of history lesson or any kind of reminder of what’s really going on here. I mean, I try to stay out of the twitter wars, and the silly arguments that seem to happen almost on a nightly basis, because to me, they’re simply petty, and do not require me to fuel them to try and get under my skin. Delia and her crew can run their mouths all they like about whatever they want. They can cry and whine about me beating Liz Smalls, and how it was only because of Misty, or this, or that, but the simple fact is, I didn’t ask Misty to do anything. I would love to totally have had a huge conspiring conversation with Misty about helping me win, but Misty and I aren’t exactly bowling buddies by any stretch of the imagination. Heck, I’m even surprised that we’re teaming together. Never thought that would happen, like ever. And you know, even with this match happening, I somehow doubt Misty and I are going to ever become best friends. It’s just what happens when people respect one another, and obviously, get brought together for a goal. Misty and I, simply have a common enemy: The Mean Girls. And that’s for a variety of different reasons. But, obviously one common reason, they just don’t stop. They continue to insult Misty and her family, and drag my name and Amy’s name through the mud at every opportunity. And that’s fine. If that makes them feel better about themselves, I’m all for it. They can insult me all day long, but at the end of the day, only one of them, has ever beaten me, And that’s Delia, and she’s the leader of the group. I beat Liz, I have beaten Mercedes, and if need be, I can beat Veronica any day of the week.

But that’s not me bragging, it’s a statement of fact. Mercedes knows, Liz knows, and Veronica will find out if she continues to think otherwise. I still owe her for that cheap slap two weeks ago. But that will come in due time. I’m not going to let personal issues get in the way of the team effort this week. Delia’s riding high on her undefeated streak, and hey, that’s great. She’s really the only successful one of the group in SCW. Sure, Mercedes won the Bombshell’s Roulette title, and the tag team titles, but when it comes right down to it, when Mercedes Vargas had a chance to become the Bombshell’s champion, or any major women’s championship elsewhere, Vargas has become something of a perennial runner-up. Vargas has had her chances, and she’s blown them. And yet, she’s standing alongside a group that is full people who just don’t seem to win much of anything. Liz and Veronica got by Amy and Jessie before, and last week, Veronica beat Lexi in a tag match. But before that, Misty, Vixen, and I beat the Mean Girls like a drum. Again, not bragging, stating a fact.

And now, we come to this match. I’m sure the Mean Girls have planned their huge victory celebration, and probably are planning their nefarious plots on how exactly they can sneak this week in and call it a win. Hey, the Mean Girls rule right? They can cheat and its okay, but something that even looks like cheating, meaning they failed miserably, the fix must be in. But hey, that’s fine. They can believe what they want, in the end, when they get beaten this week, they can understand that winning all the titles at Violent Conduct II simply means all the titles can just as easily be taken away from them. Just that quickly. Those fighting this war know where the weak spots are.

I mean, I can tell you the clichés of the group right now.

Delia’s the leader.

Mercedes is the second in command or “parrot”

Liz is the dumb pretty one.

Holly is the outcast.

And Veronica? Veronica is clearly the weak link. She’s a leech. It’s like she’s simply rubbing elbows with people better than her to make herself seem better than she is. She’s famous by association. She doesn’t have the merits to stand alone. Liz, and Mercedes, they’ve held championships. They’ve been singles champions. Veronica?  I’ve seen Veronica in action and I’m not impressed. Why should I be? Veronica’s just the one with the biggest mouth. She’s the one, behind the bullies, yelling “yeah, you tell ‘em” as if she had the ability to do the same. I’m amazed that Delia let’s people like that in the group. I mean, Veronica does nothing but ride the coattails of the Mean Girls, while reaping the benefits. She’s the wannabe. Like when you look at the group of the Mean Girls, and you hear the names, Veronica’s one that you look at and go…. “Really?  She’s there?” She knows it, and so do the rest of them. They just don’t want to admit it out loud.

Mercedes, as I said, is the parrot. She really thinks she’s the leader or whatever they call it. But she’s not, and she knows she never will be. Every time Mercedes looks at the Mean Girls, she sees people who she MIGHT be better than. Just a little. Because Mercedes knows that she’s so inconsistent and prone to failure that her wins seem like a big deal. Sure, 2 times Roulette champion, and 2 time Tag team champion, hey those are feats, but when you look at, if Mercedes was a good as she thinks she is, she would be above this. She would be competing for the bombshell’s championship regularly. But she’s just not. Why? Because she knows it looks more impressive if you look like a big fish in a small pond. She’s proud to be just…kinda there. She’s happy with being average. So her inclusion into the Mean Girls makes a lot of sense when you think about it… Why not join a group that’s consistently average to below average. I have gone up against Mercedes Vargas several times in my career, and each time, I got my hand raised. Mercedes may have new friends, and a new demeanor, but as she proved against Vixen, she’s still the same Mercedes she’s always been: An “also-ran.”

And Delia. You beat me at Into the Void. I don’t make any excuses for that. I did everything in that math but get my hand raised. That’s all that’s missing from that match. I should have, but be that as it may, you got the single biggest win of your career against me. Now people know who you are. You’re welcome. Always happy to help out those who need it so desperately. And yet, I get classed as a jealous Janis because of it. Or because I have a problem with monopolies I have a problem with people trying to take everything for their groups. I’ve always had an issue with things like that. If you don’t try and take control for the Mean Girls, and try to make them seem better than they are, then we really wouldn’t be having any issues. But we do. And because of that, you should know I’m not going to stop until the Mean Girls are no more. And neither is Misty, or Amy, or Jessie, or anyone else you’ve tried to put down. You may sit in the driver’s seat right now, but the fact of the matter is, it all is going to end soon. But you already knew that. Think about it Delia, imagine if Liz and Veronica fail, Mercedes fails, and then, you fail… Wow, talk about a letdown. But you can get used to that kind of disappointment on Sunday when your team losses now.

I’m sure I’ll hear a lot of stuff of comic books and superheroes and all that jazz, but what else can I expect from so many people who are stuck with this high school level mentality and think that it really means something that they insult the very things they’ve all taken the time to rip up and burn and whatever else they’ve done to them. It doesn’t bother me.  In the end, They all can get kicked the in face at the end of the night.

I can always buy another comic book, but I hear plastic surgery is expensive.

Not that I would know anything about that.
