Act 1: The Other Side

"No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new."

The Angel of Death

The scene opens on the beautiful city of Las Vegas. The sky was clouded, and it looked like it was going to rain at any moment. The fast pace of the city kept everyone busy, while the rest of the world just seemed to slip by. The camera soon focuses on an empty playground where we see a young girl, no more than 10 sitting on of the swings by herself. She swayed back and forth slowly, and looked almost sad about something. Her long blond hair gently tugged in the light breeze that moved around her, and her purple sneakers moved the dirt at her feet. She looks up and we see that Necra standing before her. She doesn't seem to be bothered by her presence but simply smiles at her. Necra walks to the swing set, and sits on one of the other swings, and just stares ahead.

Little Girl: Hi.

Necra: Hello. What are you doing here by yourself?

Little Girl: My parents are busy. I came here to play for a while but I don't feel like it now.

Necra: I see. Is something wrong?

Little Girl: I don't know. My parents said I was sick, and I shouldn't be going out by myself, but I wanted to come here.

Necra: Where are your parents?

The little girl points to the nearby hospital and Necra sighs softly. She knew what she had to do. Necra gets to her feet and extends her hand to the little girl. She looks at Necra but smiles softly and gets up from the swing, and takes Necra's hand in her hers.

Little Girl: I'm not sure where they're at but I know they're over there.

Necra: It's all right Abby. We'll find them.

Abby: How do you know my name?

Necra: I know a lot more than that Abby. Now lets go and find your parents.

The little girl pulls away from Necra and runs off toward the hospital. Necra knew this wasn't going to be easy, but she had a job to do. She starts to walk toward the hospital and sighs when she sees it was a children's hospital.

Necra: She has to do it the hard way. Of course it couldn't be as simple as just walking up to her...

Necra sighs, and walks through the front doors. No one seems to notice her as she passes by, and gets into the elevator. A young woman in her late teens stands beside her, and Necra looks at her. She was hooked up to an IV and holding on to it tightly. Her breath was slowing and Necra knew her time was coming to an end. The young woman looks over and smiles before stepping away from her body, and seems to disappear into nothingness. The doors soon open and Necra turns to the young woman's body, and places two small gold coins in her hand, and closes her eyes. She steps out of the elevator, as a nurse rushes in not seeing Necra walking by, and out into the hallway. She walks along casually not letting her glance be distracted. She was here for one thing only and that was to find the girl that had eluded her earlier. She moves on silent feet as she walks still not getting any notice from those around her. Necra finally comes to the room she was looking for, and lingers in the doorway. The little girl's eyes were opened and she was softly speaking with her parents about something. As she looks toward the door her eyes get wide, and her parents turn around seeing Necra standing in the doorway.

Abby: That's her! She's the one I saw in the playground!

Abby's Father: Sweety you've been here the whole time. You couldn't have left considering all the machines you're hooked up to.

Abby's Mother: Are you a doctor? If you are maybe she dreamed about you.

Necra: No ma'am. I'm not.

Abby's Father: Then who are you?

Necra: I think you already know who I am. I'm afraid that her time has come.

Necra's right hand turns skeletal as she moves a bit closer to the bed. Abby's parents get on either side of her, trying to protect their daughter from the creature they only knew as death. Necra's hand goes back to normal and she smiles softly.

Abby's Mother: You can't take her. She's just a little girl.

Necra: I'm sorry but I have to. It's her time and I know this is difficult for you but I have a job to do.

Abby's Father: You've come to kill her haven't you?

Necra: No I would never harm her! Or any child for that matter. I've come to take her peacefully. This is the hardest part about being an Angel of Death. People accuse you of being a killer when we are not.

Abby's Mother: How will she go?

Necra: In her sleep. She will drift off to dream, and be here with me in a few moments. Go ahead and say your goodbyes. I'll wait out in the hallway.

Necra steps out, and closes the door behind her. She looks back through the window and they hug Abby, and make sure she's comfortable. The little girl smiles and closes her eye clinging a small stuffed animal in her arm. Her breath starts to slow, and Necra enters the room once again. She opens her eyes long enough to see Necra standing there, glowing almost as bright as the sun, with a few dark places around her. Abby smiles and closes her eyes taking her last breath. The machines that were hooked up to her start to go off, letting the staff know that she was gone. Her parents weep as they look down at her, and Necra feels a little hand in hers once again. She looks down and sees Abby standing beside her.

Abby: Can I say goodbye before I go?

Necra: You can, but they can't hear you now. They know that you are in a better place or at least will be.

Abby: I don't to go by myself. I don't know how to get there.

Necra: That's why I'm here. I'm not only a Grim Reaper but I'm here to guide you to where you need to go.

Abby: I'm scared.

Necra: There's no need to be afraid. Where you are going there are things that are so beautiful that I cannot describe them to you. There is no more pain, or suffering, and no more tears for you. You will be able to run around all day and play any game that you want.

Abby smiles softly, and looks back at her parents and then up at Necra. Necra wouldn't let anything happen to her, and would make sure that she was taken to the gates of the heavenly hosts, before she left her side.

Abby: Are there ponies there?

Necra: Yes... There are ponies there... Of every color under the sun. Now we better get going. They're waiting for you.

Abby nods and the two of them head out of the room, and down the hallway. As they walk down the hall they seem to disappear into nothingness as the scene fades to black.

Act 2: Lost in Thought

The scene opens on the Palms Hotel and Casino along the strip. The night had come on, and everything was brightly lit with the flashing lights that lined each building, along with the street lights for another night. The camera goes up the exterior of the Palms and toward the very top where we see a glass room that extends over the strip. In the middle of the long pool was the Playboy Bunny symbol, and lights that went all around the inside. We see Necra sitting against the edge that over looked the strip lost in thought as bubbles started to form around her. The hot tub had been turned on and the warm water felt good. The day had been a long one and one she would rather forget. After she had come back from the other side she had trained for her match, and now it was time for her to relax. Necra closes her eyes and ducks under the water, only to come up with her hair plastered to her face. she opens her eyes and flicks back her hair.[/COLOR]

Necra: Why is it that everyone fears death? I am not a cruel creature, or even truly evil. I've changed my ways, and yet no one believes that I have. Of course what does that matter right? I'm just as good as I always have been, and after Sunday night Mercedes you will see why I'm the Bombshell Roulette Champion. For some reason the wheel always seems to be in my favor, and I have to say when I won against Amy I did feel bad for the way I did it, but the title remained in my hands. If you can prove yourself against me the way you did against Joanne and what's her name then you deserve to win it, but if not... It will stay with me just that much longer. Of course you really haven't proven yourself in my eyes yet. Sure you've won a few matches, and have beaten a few big names, but I still stand in your way of getting your hands on something meaningful.

Her dark eyes stare out over the strip as the light catches them they seem to change into a red color only for a split second and then turn back to their normal color.

Necra: Do you know what it's like to fight every urge in your body not to destroy your opponent in the middle of the ring? My other side screams every time the slightest bit of blood is spilled on the mat, telling me that you are nothing more than mortals that will end up as servants for a layer of hell one way or another. It's something that I have to fight and I have to say it gets that much harder each time. Mercedes do you even know what you are getting yourself into when you stand against me in the middle of that ring on Sunday night? There have been very people that have defeated me, and the ones that haven't, never walked away from the ring the same. I've watched the few matches you've been in and I have to say that I'm not that impressed but I'm not going to underestimate you.

She gets out of the hot tub and walks toward the now fogged glass and opens the doors letting the steam float into the night air. Necra looks below her, and everything seems so small as it passes by. The cars looked like toys, while the people looked like ants below.

Necra: Tell me Mercedes do you really think that you stand a chance against someone like me? I've been in this business a while and I have faced a lot of people but there a few that really mattered. You don't even hold a flame to most of those that I have faced. Of course in time it's hard to say what you could do. If you think that I'm going to just lie back and let you take this title away from me you better think again. I will do everything and anything that I have to do to keep it. Show me how much you want this title and maybe I'll let you clean it for me one day, just so you know what it looks like up close.

Necra smiles as she heads back into the interior of the vast suite. She wraps a towel around her as she moves through the suite and toward the bedroom on the next floor. As she passes the large dinning room table she spots a note and a small bouquet of flowers attached. She picks up the note and smiles softly as she begins to read it.

Necra: Dear Miss Kane. We are Abby's parents and we know this might sound strange, but we believe that we saw you today in our daughter's hospital room. You look like the one that appeared to take her to her rest in heaven after her long fight against Leukemia. We are not sure what we saw but if it was you, we just wanted to say thank you for making her last few moments full of love and comfort. We know that our sweet little Abby is in a better place and that she had someone with her on the way. Thank you once again, and God Bless. Sincerely, The Griffons.

Necra sets the note down, walks away, as a single petal off of the roses falls to the table. She had guided just one more soul to the next life and gave another family peace of mind.

Necra: It's funny... The benefit that we are fighting for is one that my last soul was released from. Mercedes if you want that title then you better fight your ass off for it. I'm not going to let it go, not that easily at least. I've held on to it for a while now, and there is no chance that you are going to take it from me. I've worked my ass off just to hold onto it for this long, and I don't plan on losing it any time soon, or at least not to you, or anyone else that I don't find worthy of holding my title. I am the Goddess of Death, the Queen of the Dead, the Black Lady, The reaper of Souls, The Angel of Death; fear me! For when you look upon me you will see your death. See you soon Mercedes.

Necra's eyes seem to shift once again, almost a bright blue in color. She smiles and turns from the camera heading up the stairs to the master bedroom and the scene fades to black.
I am the Goddess of Death, the Queen of the Dead, the Grim reaper... and your soul belongs to me.
