Birthdays

These were always a big deal in families anyway but when there are four in the same family on the same day?  Well that can be problematic when the family is both large and spread out across the entire country of the United States of America. In order to properly celebrate and to avoid the family overly spamming special media, a zoom call was arranged. Seleana Zdunich had the group in Los Angeles with her, her wives, Christina “Crystal Hiltton” Zunich, Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell-Zdunich, her daughter, Aurora Zdunich, her cousin Nadja Lindström, Nadja’s fiancée Stephanie Sullivan, Stephanie’s teenage son Tyler Sullivan, Nadja’s younger sister, Freja Lindström, and Freja’s girlfriend Lucy Osman.

Seleana Zdunich: We are ready, ja?

The others all nod and Seleana starts the call. A few seconds later, they are joined by another large group from New York City consisting of Seleana’s cousin, Alexi “Storm” Zdunich-Priest, Alexi’s husband Robbie Priest, their children, Scarlett Priest, Amber Priest, and the triplets Eric, Jesse and Elias. Also standing in the shot are Alexi’s mother, Scarlett Zdunich, Scarlett’s boyfriend, Joey Nitro, Jenni Taylor and Jenni’s fiance Matt Robinson along with Matt’s two children, Nick and Chelsea. Jenni grins, her English accent standing out amongst all the Swedes.

Jenni Taylor: Stacy and Harley would have been here but Stacy had to be in Arizona for the show tomorrow but she sends her love, yeah?   

Seleana nods as a third picture pops up with a group from New Orleans. This time it has one of the birthday girls, Linnéa Lacroix, her wife, Seleana’s sister, Zenna Zdunich, Jenni’s sister, Kelly Taylor, their mother, Emelie Taylor, Kelly’s fiancée, Linnéa’s sister, Alissa Lacroix, Nadja and Freja’s sister, Maja Lindström and Maja’s boyfriend Matthias Lindeman. 

Alissa Lacroix: Wow, it’s a party already!

Kelly Taylor: We’d know about those, yeah?

Before anyone else can say anything, a fourth join screen happens from New Jersey with Seleana and Zenna’s third sister, Katra Zdunich, her wife, Joey’s daughter, Adrianna Zdunich, their on-again, off-again third wife/girlfriend/currently off-again, Eavan Maloney, their daughter Emileigh Maloney, Alexi’s sister, Ylva “Varghona” Lundqvist, and her girlfriend Levenia “Koloss” Lundgren.

Katra Zdunich: We… late?

Seleana can’t help but smile at her sister forcing herself to speak English.

Seleana Zdunich: Ingen ko på isen Kattunge.

Katra smiles, nodding.

Emileigh Maloney: See, told you you were worrying about nothing, Mamma!

Katra’s smile brightens at being called this.  As everyone else takes this in, a fifth join occurs, this time just two more people from Asheville, North Carolina in a fourth Lindström sister, Kajsa, and her wife, Jessie Barnes.

Kajsa Lindström: Hej!

As everyone starts to greet Kajsa and Jessie, the sixth and final join happens from Orlando with the last Lindström sister, Valkyrja and her girlfriend, Molly O’Hatherine.

Valkyrja Lindström: Hej!

Seleana nods and then smiles.

Seleana Zdunich: With everyone here now, shall we sing for Li, Ylva, Aunt Scarlett and Val?

Everyone agrees and quickly sings “Happy Birthday To You” to the four celebrants, all four seemingly touched and moved to tears by their family’s collective affection for them.

Linnéa Lacroix: Thank you!

Ylva "Vharghona" Lundqvist: Tack!

Valkyrja Lindström: Tack!

Scarlett nods to herself.

Scarlett Zdunich: I feel like I’ve already said that a lot today but…

She holds up her hand to show a shiny new ring on her finger. With eyes wide in excitement everyone not in New York exclaims their congratulations excitedly.

Scarlett Zdunich: Tack!

Jenni can’t help but grin playfully.

Jenni Taylor: So this means it’s a bloody race then, yeah? Matthew and I, Kels and Lis…

Valkyrja Lindström: They already lose, ja?

Laughter fills every room they can be heard in as Alissa and Kelly just stand there, shrugging.

Alissa Lacroix: I spose we deserve that at this point. We have been together a decade now…

Kelly Taylor: True… I think Mum’s been giving us the evil eye since she got here about it.

Jenni Taylor: Mum’s only been in this country two years!

Alissa shrugs.

Alissa Lacroix: I mean, that’s only like a fortnight, right?

Everyone laughs again and the conversation goes on for another twenty minutes before the call slowly comes to an end. As Seleana sits back in his chair, she can’t help but grin. Aurora hugs her and hurries off to her room. Freja and Nadja walk off with Lucy, Stephanie and Tyler slowly leaving Seleana alone in the room with her wives. As she sits in her chair, Christina just shakes her head in astonishment at her wife.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: How? How do you do that?

Seleana turns to face her.

Seleana Zdunich: Do what?

Christina just stares at her, the amazement still shining through.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: Things like this where you brought everybody together?

Before Seleana can answer, Alexandra chuckles slightly.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: It’s what she does, Chris. I may be Dat Girl in the ring, but Sel?

Alexabdra just shakes her head as well before nodding at Seleana.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: She’s Dat Girl here. What was that, a good twenty-five, thirty people? And we could have had more if some others weren’t busy and they would have been here because that’s what Sel does.

She smiles lovingly.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: You’re incredible, Baby.

Christina nods her agreement.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: You are.

Tears starting in her eyes, Seleana stands and hugs her wives.

Seleana Zdunich: Jag älskar dig!

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: I love you too!

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: I love you!

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich sitting on a couch, nodding to herself as she hits the button to start.

Seleana Zdunich: Sometimes, I wonder…

She nods as she looks down towards the floor.

Seleana Zdunich: How did I get here? 

She exhales heavily as she almost allows herself a slight chuckle.

Seleana Zdunich: And why do I do this?

Looking up,

Seleana Zdunich: As I have said before and been castigated many times saying so, this was never my dream when I was small.

She sits forward, her hands coming together and hovering just over her knees.

Seleana Zdunich: I lived my dream before I ever came into wrestling. I worked with animals and got to raise a lioness from baby to adult and I still get to work with her.

She nods to herself, smiling proudly.

Seleana Zdunich: Sarabi is my baby, ja?

She smiles, nodding contently.

Seleana Zdunich: I come here because my wife asked me to try and then I wanted to. She never had to ask me to continue. My sister asked me to form a team with her. My cousins talked to me about things. I had some ask me to help train them and enjoy it all!

She nods pointedly, pointing at herself.

Seleana Zdunich: I do this for me.

She stands, nodding pointedly again.

Seleana Zdunich: No one else.

She steps back and smiles to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: Now I come to face Mercedes Vargas for an opportunity to enter the Queen For A Day match.

A snicker exits her lips.

Seleana Zdunich: That would be your worst nightmare, ja?

She points into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: You give me that opportunity, Mercedes.

Her smile brightens even more.

Seleana Zdunich: How bad would that be to you?

She almost laughs despite herself.

Seleana Zdunich: The All-Timer. The Done-It-All Hall of Famer.

She nods knowingly to the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: The Not In My League…

She finally allows herself to full on laugh out loud.

Seleana Zdunich: You say something like that every time and yet, what have you proven, Mercedes?

She nods as if the answer is obvious.

Seleana Zdunich: You have proven the exact opposite. If I were not in your league, you would destroy me in no time flat any time we get in the ring, ja?

The smile brightens yet grows mirthless. 

Seleana Zdunich: If I were not in your league, I would have won nothing. I would have wash out years ago and yet, here I am, still here, a multi time champion and staring you in the face again.

The smile suddenly changes back to amused.

Seleana Zdunich: It drive you mental that you cannot break me, ja?

She points into the camera and then sweeps her hand across the shot.

Seleana Zdunich: You want so bad to send me away and you cannot…

A smile and a nod greet the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: And now here we are, you and I one on one for a chance to enter the Queen For A Day Match. If I were not in your league, it would not even be a question and the fact that it is must burn you up, Mercedes.

The smile broadens as far as it can go

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: So… cruise time?

Seleana Zdunich looks up from her desk to see Sam “Razorback” Matthews standing in the doorway to her office leaning against the frame. For once, he is not covered in any kind of dark matter that should cause the entire building to clear just from the odor.

Seleana Zdunich: I…

Visibly confused by the question, Seleana simply sits there trying to think of an answer for a question she doesn’t really fully understand. Razorback nods.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Don’t you leave on that boat tomorrow?

Comprehension dawning, Seleana nods sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja… I do…

The playful smirk on Razorback’s face fades into a confused frown.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: What’s wrong?

Seleana sighs heavily.

Seleana Zdunich: This will be the first one I am alone.

Razorback just stares as the words come out of Seleana’s mouth.

Seleana Zdunich: Christina no longer works there so she will not be joining me. Brittany no longer works there so she and Halo will not be joining me either. Alex prefers to remain at home so she will not be joining me. Aurora will be staying home with Alex and Christina.

She trails off slowly, looking down at the surface of her desk.

Seleana Zdunich: I enjoyed this one. I was keen for it every year. I have ended up playing basketball with Team Hero multiple times because Christina and Roxi wanted to hang out and yet be competitive. The one year Halo and I were the twin towers in it.

She shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: This year it will be me sitting in a cabin reflecting on what it means like to be on a cruise with no one.   

Razorback nods slightly.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Do they know you’re upset about it?

Seleana shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: Christina has been busy with her work lately. Alex is enjoying not having work…

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Yeah but… you don’t think Alex might think about it if she knew you were upset?

Pondering this for a second, Seleana takes a deep breath and then shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: I am not keen to burden her further. She has been having a rough go. I am not keen to make it double.

Razorback adjusts so that his arms are now crossed in front of his chest even as he leans back against the frame.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: I think you should tell them about it. You might even kill two birds with one stone if you do.

Seleana cocks her head inquisitively as Razorback just shrugs.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Seems to me, Miss Alex there needs some rest and relaxation and you need somethin’ to cheer her up and keep y’all from bein’ lonely on this thing. So ask her to go with you.

Seleana stares at him for what seems like years.

Seleana Zdunich: I…

Razorback shrugs as she searches for the words again.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: You’re overthinkin’ this somethin’ fierce. You know we got this here, Miss Freja and Miss Lucy can take care of Aurora. Miss Christina can take care of whatever it is she gotta take care of and y’all go on and enjoy yourselves… ain’t hard.

Seleana nods slowly and quickly fires off a message. Before she can say anything an answer returns that makes her smile brightly.

Seleana Zdunich: She is keen…

A second ping grabs her attention. Her smile brightens.

Seleana Zdunich: And packing now. 

Razorback almost laughs.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: See, now go on and get ready to have your fun, Miss Seleana. We got shit here.

Seleana stands up. She looks at her desk and nods before moving around and walking over to hug Razorback.

Seleana Zdunich: Tack, Razorback.

She pauses as the two friends and work colleagues smile at each other.

Seleana Zdunich: I should have thought of this, ja?

Razorback shrugs.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Hey, sometimes we get in our own damn ways. Who ya wrestlin’ at this shindig anyway?

Seleana’s smile remains happy and bright.

Seleana Zdunich: Roxi. We have done so before. We have both been world champions. Roxi is so much more consistent than I am but she always gives me encouragement no matter what. She is a good friend.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Sounds like a fuckin’ superhero.

Seleana beams, nodding.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, she is.

After a moment, she turns off the light and the two walk out of her office.

Seleana Zdunich: It will be a match I am quite keen for. There will be no outside skit. There will be no hatred. I know whe will not try to hurt me badly and I will have no cause to try with her either. It will just be two bombshells competing with each other, nothing more, nothing less.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Sounds like a fun night at the office.

Seleana nods happily.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, it will be…

She pays Razorback on the shoulder.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: You will ring him, ja?

Razorback snickers.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: I’m thinkin’ about it…

Seleana nods approvingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Good… thank you again, Razorback.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: It’s what I’m here for, Miss Seleana. Y’all enjoy yourselves now.

Sitting at her desk, Seleana Zdunich prepares for a special event later that day. There would be special events all weekend in honor of Memorial Day weekend. Friday was a children’s type party. There would be a “Brew At The Zoo” event on Saturday as well a film day on Sunday. Seleana was not going to be able to be present for all of them but some of the people who worked at the zoo like Dr. Michelle “Chavy” Chavez and Sam “Razorback” Matthews would be. Now, as Seleana goes over some final details on paper, Chavy and Razorback walk in and take seats on the other side of the desk.

Seleana Zdunich: We are ready, ja?

Both Chavy and Razorback nod. 

Dr. Michelle Chavez: We should be good.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: I’m with Chavy on this, we good.

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: This will not be difficult on you, Chavy?

Chavy had recently told people she was pregnant by her boyfriend, Teddy Warren. Now nearly three months along, Chavy smiles, nodding happily.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Yeah, I’m blessed. This will be fun.

Razorback glances at his phone and nods his agreement.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: We got her, Boss. Everything’s gonna be fun. Don’t worry, we got people to watch over the Brew At The Zoo so she doesn’t have to be bothered with the booze thing.

Seleana nods approvingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Good, I am keen to see this go well.

Razorback smiles.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: I got some buddies coming over to help out.

He glances down at his phone again and Chavy giggles.

Seleana Zdunich: What is so funny?

Chavy nods at Razorback.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: He is looking for the guy he is sweet on, I believe is how Halo put it.

Razorback looks up, a look of confusion on his face. 

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Huh?

Seleana can’t help but smile.

Seleana Zdunich: Is he?

Chavy nods.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: It’s almost as cute as Dawn and Melly.

Seleana’s hand comes up to her mouth, an amused grin behind it.

Seleana Zdunich: That is beautiful. They are to be married, ja?

Chavy nods.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: June 30th.

Seleana nods approvingly.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not know which is funnier, that Melly is why Teddy does not have the company anymore and started dating his sister or that her sister started dating him and is going to bear his child.

Chavy laughs along with her.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: God works in mysterious ways.

Seleana nods her agreement and then turns her attention to Razorback.

Seleana Zdunich: So… who is he?

Caught off-guard, Razorback just sits there with his mouth open as Chavy laughs.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Do you know that man named Dixon that likes to talk about recognition he deserves, just won two championships?

Seleana nods.

SMC: His brother.

Seleana grins at Razorback.

Seleana Zdunich: He is cute, ja?

Still stunned this is even being discussed, Razorback just sits there searching for answers.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: I… uh… well, that is to say… um…

Seleana giggles and then nods to Chavy.

Seleana Zdunich: You’re right, it is too cute!

Razorback’s eyes go wide, his cheeks becoming redder the longer he remains seated.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Told ya!

Razorback can only shake his head as look down again, this time, hsi eyes closing in the process as the embarrassment washes over him.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Laugh it up, y’all. Like it’s never happened to you.

Seleana and Chavy both continue to laugh.

Seleana Zdunich: Oh no, it has. I have gotten the lightning bolt over someone and so ha Chavy, ja?

Chavy nods her agreement.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Totes… but I’m not a built dude trying to hide it while I sneak a glance in front of my boss.   

Razorback nods as he looks up, a smile coming to his face.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Yeah, ok, I like him… alright?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Now you must talk to him.

Chavy nods in agreement.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Yeah, you do… just not while you’re on the clock.

Chavy and Seleana both laugh all over again while Razorback sneaks one lat look before turning his phone off.

Sam "Razorback" Matthews: Alright… I got it…

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Let us prepare for arrivals, ja?

Chavy and Razorback nod and all three stand, ready to get the day’s party started.

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich standing beside a staff side entrance door. Wearing a Zdunich Zoological Gardens t-shirt and black jeans along with a pair of brand new Air Jordan 1 High OG “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” that her wives had made sure were purchased
the second they were allowed to be. Crystal had made sure while buying sets for everyone in the house that they were ordered before they went on-sale to the public. Seleana had not minded waiting but Crystal had insisted on using connections that she tended to trumpet at times but didn’t get to use as often as she would like. These were for the special even earlier at the zoo so Seleana had allowed herself to be treated this one time. 

Seleana nods to the camera, smiling slightly as she does so.

Seleana Zdunich: Reno…

The smile intensifies.

Seleana Zdunich: It is almost like being home, ja?

She sits back, looking off from the camera as she contemplates the place in question.

Seleana Zdunich: It is in Nevada, but near California. I call both of those places

She pauses to continue her thoughts.

Seleana Zdunich: I know it is hours away and nearer NoCal than where we live but given the other places we have all been lately, it is close enough, ja?

She signs before looking back into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: And so, now we come to Reno and I am to face Kim Pain…

Pausing, Seleana suddenly appears to go stone-faced.

Seleana Zdunich: I am keen to have this fight but I am also keen for this to be over so I do not have to listen to how I am a disappointment and my wife is whatever the latest pejorative of the moment is despite that my wife does not work here and should not matter to anyone here anymore.

A small smile comes back momentarily to her face.

Seleana Zdunich: I hope you enjoyed “getting your revenge” while you had the chance. There is only a fifty percent chance my wife will change her mind and come back at some time.

She raises a hand, palm out.

Seleana Zdunich: I know, fuzzy math. You would say there’s a much higher chance for her to come back because she always changes her mind and always comes back but that has nothing to do with the math actually at hand. The math we are worried about says we each have a fifty percent chance of winning this match but that goes down to 33 1/3 for me because you’ve already beaten me, ja? 

She nods, visibly annoyed.

Seleana Zdunich: And thus because you “know” you can beat me and I do not, my chances go down even further when you subtract the twenty-five percent that I love because I lost before and therefore leaves me with only an 8 1/3 percent chance to win against you while you get to start adding percentages together because of experience and knowledge gained.

She shrugs almost apologetically.

Seleana Zdunich: The odds are simply not in favor and numbers never lie, ja?

She nods pointedly, pointing to herself as she does so.

Seleana Zdunich: Except that numbers lie all the time and I am the living proof.

She nods again, just as pointedly, still pointing to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: Never tell me the odds.

Her entire countenance becomes darker.

Seleana Zdunich: I did not start wrestling until an advanced age for athletic competition.

He points back at the building behind her.

Seleana Zdunich: This was my life when I arrived in the States. I was not looking to change careers, I was looking into options nearer to my sisters than New Zealand could offer. I came to the States, reunited with them and started to make a life for myself in Austin with what I thought would be a good man. If the story had continued on that path, I would not be here…

Her eyes lower as memories of him flood back over. After a solemn moment, her eyes make contact with the camera again.

Seleana Zdunich: But it did not continue down that path, did it?

Seleana shakes her head sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: That man was taken from me by a natural disaster and thus I was open to another path that I was directed to try by a family friend. It was only then that I started defeating seemingly insurmountable and ridiculous odds.

She cocks her head interrogatively.

Seleana Zdunich: What percentage would you have given a rookie with no athletic background over thirty-years-of-age to succeed in making it a week?

She nods like counting off a bullet point list.

Seleana Zdunich: A month?

Another nod.

Seleana Zdunich: A year?

The faintest smile both dawns and fades in seemingly record time. 

Seleana Zdunich: And here I stand. It has been five years and I have been a champion six times between multiple companies.

She swings her arm through the shot, waving that very thought away.

Seleana Zdunich: Nearly every opponent for five years has claimed I would amount to nothing. None gave me a chance of beating any of them individually, much less taking their championship or standing. Alicia Lukas, Jessie Salco, Mercedes Vargas, Crystal Hilton…

Her countenance hardens.

Seleana Zdunich: I was not supposed to be in their league. It was an insult that I was in the ring with the lot of them and yet, I have been World Bombshells Champion! I have been the Bombshells Roulette Champion. I have been a tag team champion four times in other companies.

A smirk dawns.

Seleana Zdunich: Time and again, the numbers lied.

She points to herself again.

Seleana Zdunich: I make the numbers lie.

Taking a step forward, Seleana nods confidently.

Seleana Zdunich: So place bets. Kim Pain and I, one more time.

She moves closer to her vehicle.

Seleana Zdunich: I am keen to play, ja?

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich standing in the hotel she’s staying in for the SCW event in London.

Seleana Zdunich: London… Bobbie Dahl…

She pauses and looks down as she sits on a couch.

Seleana Zdunich: Welcome back, ja?

She nods again.

Seleana Zdunich: I am happy to see you back in an SCW ring. I always thought you tended to sell yourself short. You did not seem keen to show the world what you could do and I would ask why but you are not the first or the only one I have ever seen do that.

Exhaling heavily, she looks down and nods to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: I remember you having a match with Alicia Lukas that should have been the start of a long trail of you showing the world what you could do.

Looking up, Seleana shrugs sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: But it was not, was it, Bobbie?

She shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: No…

She sits forward, hands together for a second before she looks up into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: Instead it started the kind of downward spiral I have heard people say I am on, only yours ended with you leaving while I am still here.

She points to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: I never left, no matter how many people have said I should both in public and in private where they think I cannot hear them.

She almost laughs to herself, though the snicker is rather mirthless and sounds almost annoyed.

Seleana Zdunich: They are not as clever as they think, ja?

She rolls her eyes at the very thought.

Seleana Zdunich: But now you have returned and I am keen to see what you will do this time. I am keen to see what you can do the way you did with Alicia Lukas.

Seleana smiles into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: I am keen to see you prove everybody wrong this time including yourself.

She nods pointedly.

Seleana Zdunich: I am keen to see you learn, to see you grow and change and add to yourself and become what you should have been since day number one!

She nods pointing to the floor in between her shows.

Seleana Zdunich: I am keen to see this because this is a front row seat.

She points to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: I am here to see the Bobbie Dahl show and see if the revival and reimagining can do more than the first go did.

Seleana stands up and glares into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: I am keen for this because you should be one of the biggest stars in this company. You should be on top where the likes of Kim Pain, Kayla Richards are and where Masque made it to and where Roxi Johnson is.

She points almost accusingly into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: You should be so far ahead of many of us, it is not even funny. You should be destroying people and winning championships. You should be taking a place next to Roxi, Mercedes Vargas, my wife and all the others in the Hall of Fame.

Her hand falls out of the shot.

Seleana Zdunich: I am keen to welcome you home, Bobbie. I am keen to welcome you to where you should have always been.

She nods pointedly.

It had been an interesting week for Seleana Zdunich. She and her sister had lost their tag team match and thus their championships and her daughter-in-law had also lost on the same card in the main event. Now she was to focus on her next match with Krystal Wolfe but even before that got her on Sunday, Seleana was going over things here for the zoo.  Several animals were to be added to their collection in the next week and certain paperwork had to be completed in advance. As she looks over what is left to do, Halo arrives in the doorway to the office. 

Seleana Zdunich: HayJo?

Halo nods to her mother-in-law.

Halo: Hey, Mama Sel.

Seleana cocks her head, concern seeping into her eyes.

Seleana Zdunich: What’s wrong?

Halo shrugs almost as if nothing matters at all.

Halo: Who said anythin’ was wrong?

Seleana sits back in her chair and allows her head to become more upright again.

Seleana Zdunich: You are keen to talk, ja? 

Halo starts to retort but then catches herself and simply nods.

Halo: Yeah, Mama Sel, I am…

Seleana nods invitingly.

Seleana Zdunich: What troubles you?

Halo exhales heavily.

Halo: I did it again.

Seleana frowns in confusion.

Seleana Zdunich: Did what again?

Halo shakes her head, her hands balling fists.

Halo: I let him bait me into somethin’ stupid… again!

Seleana nods, comprehension dawning for the Swedish woman.

Seleana Zdunich: And this angers you, ja?

Almost shaking, Halo’s eyes squeeze shut, her fists rising up in front of her as her frustration threatens to explode.

Halo: I should have…

Throwing her head back in anger, Halo pounds her fists against her own thighs.

Halo: Goddammit, I should have known better! I knew somethin’ was comin’ and I let him do it again!

Her head returns to its original upright position and then droops forward slightly, her eyes still squeezing shut even as they start to burn.

Halo: I knew the first night I should have just shut up and let him be the idiot who skipped his chance to be the man but NO, I couldn’t do that. I had to let him bait me into given’ him a chance that I KNEW was…

She pounds her right fist again.

Halo: FUCK! 

Seleana nods slowly.

Seleana Zdunich: And now you feel you have allowed it to happen another time?

Halo nods, her eyes slowly opening as angry tears stream down her face. 

Halo: I knew he would do somethin’, I knew it and when the time came I…

She falls into a chair on the other side of the desk and sits forward in it, her head falling into her hands.   

Halo: All it took were the magic words, and caw, caw, bang, fuck, I’M dead…. again!

Seleana nods understandingly.

Seleana Zdunich: You have done well to not allow that to happen as often as it once did, HayJo. It was only a few years ago when you would be in a far darker place after such things.

Halo takes a deep breath and then nods in acknowledgement.

Halo: Yeah, no getting wasted off my ass this time. I am NOT letting him do that to me!

A smile washes across Seleana’s face.

Seleana Zdunich: It has been a long time for that, ja?

Halo nods.

Halo: Yeah… not since y’all caught sneakin’ blow into Brit’s room at y’all’s house.

Halo looks up at her mother-in-law, surprise slipping through her anger, frustration and shame.

Halo: I’m still amazed that didn’t get me thrown the fuck out right there.

Seleana shrugs as if the idea is patently ridiculous.

Seleana Zdunich: You were hurting. It was not what you needed. 

Halo swallows hard.

Halo: Five words… that was all it took…

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: It took eight when I did it.

Halo looks up in shock.

Halo: Do…what now?

Seleana nods to her knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: You remember, ja? 

She raises her right hand in a fist,

Seleana Zdunich: En Kristen Rättighet.

Halo stares at Seleana’s fist and then nods slowly.

Halo: A Christian Right.

Seleana lowers her head.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, all he had to say to me was, “What are you going to do about it?”

She lowers her fist back behind the desk.

Seleana Zdunich: Then I was fired.

Halo nods, almost allowing herself a small smile.

Halo: Punchin’ your boss and breakin’ his face will do that.

Seleana nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: My punch cost me a job and set me on a path to several things.

Halo: And mine cost me a match and a championship because I let him…

She pauses as she shakes her head, ashamed of herself and her faults. 

Halo: All because he said , “You’re just like your father.”

Halo shakes her head.

Halo: And I’m makin’ him right and that’s what drives me the craziest. My Daddy gambled away everything, always makin’ sucker bets to try to go big and make up for losses rather than just cuttin’ bait and I… 

She trails off and Seleana nods to her pointedly.

Seleana Zdunich: And you?

Halo looks at her mother-in-law.

Halo: I keep lettin’ him get me to take risks I know are bad because I don't wanna be Daddy. I don’t wanna let everyone down like he did!

Just as before, Seleana nods understandingly.

Seleana Zdunich: And he knows that. He knows that choices made in desperation to avoid something often lead right to it. So what is he avoiding?

Halo frowns, confused.

Halo: What?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: He continues to bait you into things, ja?  What is he hoping to avoid by doing that? What does he fear?

Halo ponders this for a second.

Halo: He keeps tryin’ to avoid fightin’ me straight up.

Seleana nods in agreement.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, he does.   

Halo nods to herself.

Halo: So what I need to do is quit worryin’ about where he’s tryin to send me, and focus on where I wanna go because it’s probably his worst nightmare…

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, it just might be.

Halo smiles gratefully.

Halo: Thanks, Mama Sel.

Seleana stands up and walks over to her daughter-in-law.

Seleana Zdunich: You will figure it out. Keep the faith in yourself, Älskling. You are capable.

Halo smiles and hugs the older blonde woman, Seleana hugging back.

Halo: You always know what to say. 

Seleana shrugs, smiling sweetly.

Seleana Zdunich: I try.  Sometimes it is good, ja?

Halo nods back.

Halo: Yes Ma’am.

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich standing in the driveway of the home she shares with her wives, Crystal and Diamond, a rather large light illuminating the area so that everyone can see the tall blonde Swede in her blue jeans, Wildside T-Shirt and black Nikes.  She glances down at the shirt and grins.

Seleana Zdunich: Krystal Wolfe…

A small smile comes to her face.

Seleana Zdunich: A Slayer, ja?

She nods almost to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: You make a move no one saw coming and now you seek the rewards of that move with the Saviors.

She shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: I am sorry to say it will likely not matter.

She shrugs again, this time almost sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: You can win a championship soon and it will not give you what you want. It will not make you the star you wish it to.

Her eyebrows raise as she looks into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: I can hear you asking, “Why not?” and adding more about how you do not care what I think and that I do not know you.

Seleana laughs to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: That is why it will not work. 

She smirks into the camera as if she knows a secret that no one else does.

Seleana Zdunich: Attack whoever you want, friends, family, it will not matter, Krystal. There is one unfortunate truth that will stop you.  It is the same one that is thrown at me many times.

She nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: My wife.

Seleana looks down at her feet, annoyance creeping in.

Seleana Zdunich: My wife has already, or better or worse made her name. Done many things that got her attention both positive and negative. She has done it all and continues to do so in multiple companies whether anyone wants her to or not.

She shrugs, exhaling heavily.

Seleana Zdunich: It is what she does, call attention to herself.

She looks up to the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: And that is what is your problem. You are the “Other Krystal.” My wife has made it so that anyone who tries to make a name for themselves with that word will always be the second one mentioned because she cannot help herself. She is an attention magnet. Just when you think she is finished, she switches polarity and achieves more by sucking it up the other way.

She shrugs almost apologetically.

Seleana Zdunich: Nothing you do will ever match her propensity for that behavior.

She rashes her index finger.

Seleana Zdunich: Turn on friends, she did it first, she did it more often and she did it worse for pettier reasons. 

A second finger joins its brother.

Seleana Zdunich: Turn on family?

She almost laughs.

Seleana Zdunich: She has gone to war with so many of her own family, the question now is no longer who will she turn on, it is who will she turn on next and for how bad a reason?  You will never match the levels that she has sunk to in that regard.  You will always be the second one. “Krystal With A K” will never be talked about as much or in the same manner as my wife, ask Christian Underwood. 

She almost laughs again.

Seleana Zdunich: Or most of the rest of the rosters of nearly every other company out there as she has managed to join so many and anger or, at least annoy, countless others. Christian is just the most prolific in his public annoyance.

She nods again as she glares directly into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: So, come at me Crystal Number Two, I am ready for whatever you can throw at me.

Shawon Ceballos: Hey… are we ready?

Seleana nods slowly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja…

Ceballos grins and presses the butt to start the broadcast.

Shawon Ceballos: Alright, welcome to “Ante Up with Shawon Ceballos” and my guest today is having a match here in Las Vegas on Sunday when SCW gives us all Blaze of Glory XI. This is “The Cat” Seleana Zdunich, thank you for being with us today, Seleana.

Seleana grins back.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, tack!

Ceballos nods.

Shawon Ceballos: You’ve been coming to Las Vegas for a long time, right?

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, for many years now. Christina thought it was a good idea because of how often SCW was running here and that was before the pandemic lockdown bubble. Christina had a job at a casino for a time and so needed the space and it is also how we got our daughter, Aurora
.
Ceballos nods:

Shawon Ceballos: How old is she now?

Seleana Zdunich: Aurora?  She is twelve.

Shawon Ceballos: How is she doing?

Seleana Zdunich: She is doing well, keen to see her mothers do well on Sunday.

Shawon Ceballos: Crystal’s defending her championship on Sunday against Georgia Robertson.

Seleana nods quickly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, she has been doing well with this championship.

Ceballos nods slowly.

Shawon Ceballos: And your match is for a shot at the inner?

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

Shawon Ceballos: Any chance that causes a problem between you and your wife?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: There is always a possibility.

Ceballos snickers.

Shawon Ceballos: Why does your wife use someone else's name now?

Seleana Zdunich: Because she found my name harder for other people to pronounce. It became a problem that some would not even try to do so. So she asked to use Alexanra’s name professionally so that people would be able to say her name properly.

Shawon Ceballos: She didn’t see a problem with that?

Seleana Zdunich: Christina or Alexandra?

Shawon Ceballos: Both?

Seleana Zdunich: Alexandra is Dat Girl, of course someone would wish to use her name.

Shawon Ceballos: And Crystal?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Christina simply wished to have a name others could say.

Shawon Ceballos: So why didn’t she just stay Crystal Hilton?

Seleana Zdunich: She wished to move away from that name and start anew.

Shawon Ceballos: Did that work?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: People can pronounce her name, that is what she wanted.

Shawon Ceballos: What about you? Are you happy with it?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Chistina simply wanted a name others could say easier.

Shawon Ceballos: So do you think the potential is high for you and your wife to end up fighting again?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: There is always the possibility.

Shawon Ceballos: Last week you said you were tired of things that people like Kim Pain and Mercedes Vargas, can you elaborate on that?

Seleana Zdunich: Many people elect to attack my wife. They can find nothing to say about me aside from what everyone has heard many times about Christina. I understand that it is an easy target but once it has been hit several times, perhaps another target should be chosen. No one is keen to watch or hear the same thing over and over again until the end of time.

Shawon Ceballos: Did that go with that guy in your other job that constantly called your cousin his Swede Roll?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Maja found it amusing. Zenna did as well. I thought it was funny but happily ended before it could get bothersome.

Ceballos nods.

Shawon Ceballos: So what can we expect from the show on Sunday?

Seleana Zdunich: The fans should be keen to see all the action. It will be everything SCW always brings and Dawn, Mercedes, Kim and I will fight until we cannot anymore!

Shawon Ceballos: Well, thank you for being here today.

Training…

This had been what was basically going on with the Zdunich/Caldwell/Hilton household lately ever since several of those close to them, daughter-in-law Sofia Hilton, Sofia’s sister, Ravenna Reyes, Emily Williams, Emily’s girlfriend, Melissa Chavez, Melissa’s sister, the head veterinarian at the Zdunich Zoological Gardens, Michelle “Chavy” Chavez and the sister of Chavy’s boyfriend, Dawn Warren, all decided they either wanted further training or wanted to start the training in the first place.

Normally, this wouldn’t be a big production…

But nobody ever accused the Zdunich/Caldwell/Hilton household of being normal.

As usual, the reactions from Seleana Zdunch, Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell and Christina “Crystal” Hilton had all been varied and different. Seleana had seen it as something that needed to be taken care of, family to be helped as much as was possible. Diamond had seen it as a way to get in extra sparring sessions when required. Crystal had seen it as a competition to add to her list o f accolades and had immediately ordered two separate facilities to be set up for them.

One would be overseen by Seleana, the other by Crystal.

Thus, the Wildcat Wrestling Academy and the Rose Wrestling Academy were both born. Sofia Hilton and Michelle were being taught at the Rose school under Crystal and her son, Sofia’s husband, Brayden Hilton while Dawn and Melissa were at the Wildcat school with assistance coming from Brayden’s twin sister, Brittany Williams, and Brittany’s wife, Haylie Jo “Halo” Annis. Of course, it being this early in the morning meant that the training part would be happening later.  For now, both Chavy and Seleana were at their day jobs at the Zdunich Zoological Gardens.

Seleana Zdunich: Chavy?

The aforementioned Dr. Chavez walks into the room.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: The monkeys got crazed again. King Louie started to lose it when some child started disobeying the signs again.

Before Seleana can even respond, Chavy shakes her head.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: ¡Pinche cabrón!

Selena’s hands instinctively raise.

Seleana Zdunich: Calmate... Calmate…

Chavy steps back, taken aback by her momentary loss of control.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: I’m sorry, I just…

Seleana stands up from her desk and quickie moves to take her friend into her arms.

Seleana Zdunich: It is alright, Chavy. Should we call Christina and put off…

Chavy starts shaking her head before Seleana can even finish the question.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: No, this needs to happen.  I need to let off some steam and we know how it’ll go if this gets canceled.

Seleana nods quickly, releasing her grip.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, ja we do.

She pauses and then looks at her friend quizzically.

Seleana Zdunich: You are not keen?

Chavy shakes her head quickly.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: No, no, I’m good. I’m ready and I kinda need to hit something so it’ll be fine. 

Seleana nods again, looking somewhat relieved now.

Seleana Zdunich: Alright, we will not call anyone then. Are the other animals crazed as well?

Chavy shakes her head.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: No they seem to know better than to anger the others, especially when Razorback is around to scold them.

A smile crosses the doctor’s face.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: That’s actually funny to watch when he starts talking about watching your ass around the pigs and how fast they can devour things. He just has a way of doing  it so that they don’t question him and it’s always amusing.

Just then, Halo comes walking into the room.

Halo: Hey, y’all. How’s it goin’?

She takes one look at Chavy and stops dead in her tracks.

Halo: Let me guess… monkeys?

Chavy nods.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: I’m hoping none of them get injured this time.

Halo: 50/50 shot?

Chavy shrugs.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Sometimes…

Halo shakes her head.

Halo: Stupid little bastards…

Chavy nods.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: I should go, Razorback and the new guy are supposed to report on the gorillas soon. 

Seleana smiles.

Seleana Zdunich: They are cute.

Chavy chuckles as she turns to leave.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Yeah, they are. For now.

She takes her leave and Halo shakes her head.

Halo: Anything weird since this whole training thing started?

Seleana shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: No, and I am not keen for that. I am worried about what will happen if Ravenna comes to us.

Halo frowns.

Halo: Why?

Seleana Zdunich: Brittany might see it as an extension of Sofia…

Halo pauses for a second and then nods slowly.

Halo: Yeah, I spose that could be a problem given how she’s currently handlin’ the whole football thing. Put a damn bounty on her own quarterback…

Seleana nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, and then went after her in Zion as well. She is getting out of hand again, competing with her brother…

Halo: Just like Mama does…

Sighing heavily, Seleana nods in acknowledgement.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja… like the sparring match between Dawn and Chavy…

Halo: Fuckin’ hell…

Seleana Zdunich: We can hope for the best since Dawn and I must be a team in Reno on Sunday.

Halo nods slightly.

Halo: We’ll have y’all ready, Mama Sel.  Don’t y’all worry about a thing.

Seleana nods gratefully.

Seleana Zdunich: Kimberly Pain and Mercedes Vargas…

She crosses her arms, looking angrily into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: I have faced both of you and I know what to expect from you. I know it will be nothing good where I am concerned because I know how both of you look at me. Mercedes has never been one to hide her feelings about me or anyone else and Kimberly has not either. 

She pauses and shrugs slightly, never breaking eye contact with the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: Mercedes has simply had more time, a longer and more storied career…

She sets her right hand almost on the ground, allowing it to hover mere millimeters from the asphalt.

Seleana Zdunich: More time to compare me to the lowest of the low.

Raising her hand back up, Seleana straightens her posture back up to its taller and more rigid position from before.

Seleana Zdunich: You underestimate me every time, Mercedes, and I know Kimberly will as well given her reaction to her victory over me.

She rolls her eyes in exasperation.

Seleana Zdunich: This time I have help in my very own Pink Puppy, Dawn Warren.

A small smile crosses Seleana’s face.

Seleana Zdunich: Now, I will be the first to admit, cats and dogs do not usually get on well. They usually get on as well as Mercedes and I do.

Nodding, Seleana’s smile only grows.

Seleana Zdunich: But Dawn make this situation different.

She nods again as if to reinforce the point being made.

Seleana Zdunich: This puppy is not just an excited, energetic little thing.

Seleana snickers and shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: Nej, Dawn Warren is all of those things but she also knows what she is doing in that ring. She has paid attention the most of anyone when we train together and shows an ability to learn beyond what she already has.

She tries not to allow the smile to overwhelm everything else but she can’t help it when thoughts of Dawn come to her.

Seleana Zdunich: I am proud of her and I am proud to share the ring with her.

She nods, looking dead into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: I am proud to stand alongside her and face you and I will be proud to share the ring when the four of us face off in just over two weeks’ time.

She points an accusing finger into the lens.

Seleana Zdunich: You two will want to pay attention and not underestimate her as you do me…

The finger wags slightly before the hand fades out of the shot.

Seleana Zdunich: She is a puppy… but she has teeth…

The smile returns in full force.

Seleana Zdunich: If you do, she will surprise everyone and you will wonder what has hit you.

She looks around, arms extended wide.

Seleana Zdunich: What just hit me, how did I let a puppy get me like that?

She smirks into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: On second thought, go ahead and underestimate her. We are keen to see what you are made of and if you will make that mistake.

Seleana allows herself a small chuckle.

Seleana Zdunich: Pandemonium, cats and dogs living together…

She nods slightly.

Seleana Zdunich: See you Sunday.

This was certainly not a usual trip. Seleana certainly knew of the Shieldmaidens given that her daughter-in-law, former SCU championship competitor Haylie Jo “Halo” Annis was the Vice President of the San Clemente Charter and her sister-in-law, Eavan Maloney, has been a full patch in both the New Orleans Charter and the New Egypt, New Jersey Charter. But Seleana had never actually been to this clubhouse. She’d been to the one in New Orleans as it had hosted a party she’d attended when she first arrived in America, much like the one her younger sister, Katra, had attended that had introduced her to Eavan in the first place.

That was New Orleans, not San Clemente.

So now, she walks into the big common room of the clubhouse next to her daughter-in-law and frowns at their surroundings, confused by the purpose of the trip..

Seleana Zdunich: Why are we here?

Halo shrugs at her mother-in-law.

Halo: I figured if we was gonna get on with trainin’ people like D-Dub, Emily, Sofia, Ravenna, whoever else…

Seleana frowns in confusion.

Seleana Zdunich: Are Emily and Sofia not trained?

Halo shrugs.

Halo: How trained were either of us when we made our debuts? I live in a house with three other champions, won a shitload of championships myself and I'm probably the least properly trained person there!

Seleana crosses her arms.

Seleana Zdunich: You make hens out of feathers…   

Halo shrugs.

Halo: I’m just sayin’, Jane and Cheech done both got more straight trainin’ than I did and Lord knows B-Brat did too. Obviously B-Brat and Mama Chrys did something right since we both champions and all but…

Seleana nods, raising her hands to slow Halo down.

Seleana Zdunich: I think Christina has already seen to Emily as well in that manner, ja?

Halo snickers.

Halo: Yeah but ain’t nobody really seen to poor Ravenna.  She had that one match last year teaming with Sofia whether she wanted to or not. I think she damn near pissed herself at having to be in the ring them Bisque Dolls, which, hey, I get it. If I was her size, her age, been in the country like six weeks and not speaking the language perfect and I saw what reminded me of monsters, I’d be pissin’ myself too!

Seleana nods understandingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Are they all here?

Halo nods.

Halo: They’s all prospectin’ now. Chi Chi almost looked like she’d fuckin’ lot her mind laughin’ at the very idea of B-Brat bein’ a prospect because it meant she’d get to boss her around. The first week she tried to put her foot down about it in the house and was not pleased to get told home was not necessarily off-limits to that stuff. We worked it out some but I think Cheech is gonna enjoy this almost too much.

Seleana exhales heavily.

Seleana Zdunich: All of them?

Halo nods.

Halo: All of them.

Shaking her head again, Seleana is almost overwhelmed at the sound of this idea.

Seleana Zdunich: Are you certain this is a wise idea?

Halo shrugs.

Halo: How wise was anything with me and B-Brat? We wasn’t exactly a storybook romance, was we?

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, but Brittany and Chiaki at the same time?

Halo: I mean, they share a house…

Seleana nods knowingly yet clearly not comfortably.

Seleana Zdunich: Dawn is aware of the familial problems this could cause her, ja?

Halo nods grimly.

Halo: Yeah, wants Melly to get trained up too.

Seleana frowns.

Seleana Zdunich: Melissa is an executive.

Halo can only smirk.

Halo: Yeah, but you met D-Dub, right? She’s a little on the excited side for the idea.

Seleana ponders the situation for a second and then nods back.

Seleana Zdunich: She has not approached Chavy about that as well?

Halo shakes her head.

Halo: Far as I know, it’s just Melly, not Chavy too. I don’t think she bothered to tell Teddy about this idea or he might have tried to talk her out of it.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja… alright, are you keen to get started then?

Halo nods.

Halo: Though you’d never ask!

The two women head towards the back door to go out to the training area set up in a warehouse that used to be vacant but now is used for practice. Halo leans their way, Seleana following, not knowing what to really expect but feeling almost like she’s obligated to help as she is able. Family commitments always come first.

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich standing next to a black 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor belonging to Halo that had been a gift from her wife and mothers-in-law because a photo had been noticed in a prominent place in Halo’s room of a similar truck that the young woman from Tennessee was using as motivation for her wrestling career. Seleana looks over the truck and nods to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: I remember when we gave HayJo this truck. She had let it be known to us that it was both her dream vehicle and her reminder to herself to not allow herself to fall into certain habits.

She pats the truck’s fender.

Seleana Zdunich: To me it is a reminder of the ties that bind us together. We both willfully married into this family. We have both had that decision questioned early and often and quite publicly, ja?

She nods knowingly to the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: HayJo’s housemates, Jane Harper and Chiaki Sanada, have made merchandise calling for my marriage to end on more than one occasion and I know they are not alone given how well that merchandise sold. They even added some for the third member of our relationship and it sold well despite her own tendencies towards infamy.

She smiles at the truck.

Seleana Zdunich: I know that they have not been great fans of Brittany’s either. I am aware that she tends to emulate her mother in certain ways and thus gains enmity from many just as Christina has in the past. 

Looking away from the truck and straight into the camera, Seleana steels herself.

Seleana Zdunich: No matter what any of them have ever done, HayJo and I have never questioned our choices. We see sides of them that no one else sees. We see who they are when they do not feel the need to act and add persona on top of themselves. I see Christina instead of Crystal and HayJo sees Brittany instead of B-Brat.

Exhaling, Seleana looks down to her feet.

Seleana Zdunich: In the same manner, Christina and I see Alex and not Diamond.     

Looking back up, Seleana smiles slightly.

Seleana Zdunich: And that is why I was so proud of them when what happened at NFW’s WrestleWar happened. Christina showed she cared for more than herself as did Alex. For that short amount of time, the world saw who all of us really were. It was not who Christina likes people to see, it was her and nothing else, exposed to the world.

She nods to herself, the smile fading quickly.

Seleana Zdunich: But it was not by their choice that this was shown. No, they were dragged kicking and screaming into the light by two people who have decided we are all collectively the antichrist for reasons not given and currently unknown. Two people who have decided it would be perfectly acceptable to attack our twelve-year-old daughter and who refuse to come anywhere near us in a sanctioned match.

Seleana glares into the camera, anger and near hatred radiating off of her.

Seleana Zdunich: Jimmy and Cindy Warren…

Fire rages on in her eyes.

Seleana Zdunich: You do not get the titles in front of your names as no one who has ever taken the Hipocratc Oath would do what you did and anyone who would, does not deserve to be given that respect!

She points accusingly into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: You said you would do no harm and yet with both Christina and then Aurora, you do worse than cause slight pain.

The rage causes her entire body to shake.

Seleana Zdunich: If you would do such to a child, you would do it to anyone if given the opportunity and that is why when I am finally afforded the opportunity to pay you back, I will.

Pulling herself together, the shaking stops but the anger remains albeit slightly blunted now.

Seleana Zdunich: Now, on Sunday I face a woman who I have no such enmity and no such worries about in Chelsea LeClair.

She nods.

Seleana Zdunich: I am happy to test myself against you Chelsea. You have earned the respect that those fittor do not deserve. You have earned the respect and the dignity of your name being spoken with reverence because you have shown yourself to be a worthy opponent but also have shown a quality of person that they refuse to allow themselves to have in themselves. You are a good person and you are a good competitor. I look forward to this.

Seleana bows deeply.

Seleana Zdunich: Thank you for not being like them, Chelsea.

She manages a small smile again.

Seleana Zdunich: Thank you for this match. Let us make this one to be remembered, ja?

She nods and then cl;imbs into the passenger seat of the truck as the camera fades.

We come back to find Crystal backing up towards the ring as two people in hoods are walking towards her with what looks like an army of private security behind them. Crystal steps back, a look of utter terror on her face as she goes. Jessi Ozborne, Sanada and Jordan Majors watch, visibly confused by what they are witnessing.

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]What the hell is this?![/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]I… you got me.  Whatever it is, Crystal does NOT look happy to see it and the Queens look like they’re just as confused as we are. [/font]

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Are we sure this is not them?[/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]If it was them. They’d be partying right now and they’re not. This is something else entirely. [/font]

The lead two in hoodies follow Crystal into the ring as the private security surround the ring cutting off any escape route she might try. Crystal steps back, landing on her ass as the two hooded figures flip back their hoods.

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Dr. Jimmy Warren and Nurse Cynthia Warren… [/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]What are they doing here? Diamond Steele isn’t even married to their brother anymore. They have no business here! [/font]

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Doesn’t look like that’s stopping them.[/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]And that expression on Crystal’s face just managed to go from bad to worse.[/font]

Dr. Jimmy gives Crystal a knowing smirk while Nurse Cindy simply glares hatefully.

Dr. Jimmy Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]You were warned of the consequences if you did not behave yourself, Crystal. It is apparent after tonight that you require further… treatment…[/font]

Crystal’s eyes go as wide as dinner places and her right arm goes up and out rigid before her.

Crystal Caldwell:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]No… please… NO!!!![/font]

The sound of Crystal begging almost makes the Queens laugh as they watch on, clearly amused at her plight for the moment. Dr. Jimmy

Dr. Jimmy Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]You will be coming with us, Crystal. You’re sick and you need more of our help. Your progress will stagnate and fall to naught if we are not quick about this. [/font]

Crystal shakes her head and Nurse Cindy steps forward, a burning rage radiating off of her.

Nurse Cynthia Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]You’re either coming the easy way or we can start treatment right here in front of the world. It’s your choice![/font]

As the last words come spitting out of Nurse Cindy’s mouth, she shows a handheld taser. Dr. Jimmy produces a second one as well. Crystal backs up into the corner, tears starting her roll down her cheeks, the fear plain as day in her eyes, her hand still out begging off.

Crystal Caldwell:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]No… please… no more… please, no more!!![/font]

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]No more?! Are they..?  Is she saying they…?[/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]My God, electroshock treatments… [/font]

Dr. Jimmy watches Crystal back herself into the corner and simply shakes his head, sighing deeply.

Dr. Jimmy Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Have it your way then…[/font]

As the two start to move in, two of the private security force reach in and grab her to hold her in place, causing Crystal to start screaming for help. The crowd’s murmurs start to change a negative response as they watch the security officers force her arms down by her sides. Dr. Jimmy stops and looks out at the fans, Nurse Cindy shaking her head, visibly angry at the delay in action being taken.   

Dr. Jimmy Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Please, this is for her own good. [/font]

Crystal continues to scream and Nurse Cindy glares daggers through her.

Nurse Cynthia Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]That’s right, cry those crocodile tears! Nobody buys a damn thing you say anymore and they won’t save you now! You deserve this and more and everybody here knows it! [/font]

The crowd starts to boo and Nurse Cindy doesn’t move at all, her attention focused dead straight on Crystal.

Nurse Cynthia Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]You EARNED this… a thousand times over![/font]

The crowd suddenly erupts as Crystal’s wives, Diamond Caldwell and Seleana Zdunich, come running down the aisle. They rush by the Queens of Chaos and look to dive into the ring only to be grabbed and tackled just as they start to reach under the bottom rope for their wife’s hand. Dr. Jimmy and Nurse Cindy turn and start directing the security to move.

Nurse Cynthia Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]You stupid whores! [/font]

She pauses, pointing angrily at Crystal.

Nurse Cynthia Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]You’re just as guilty as she is! You let her get away with everything she’s ever done and you do NOTHING![/font]

Dr. Jimmy nods both in agreement and in almost seemingly resigned regret.

Dr. Jimmy Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Sadly, it would appear the situation is even worse than was originally feared.  [/font]

Looking between Crystal and then her wives, he nods to Diamond and Seleana.

Dr. Jimmy Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]For your part in her crimes… you can watch her session now... [/font]

Turning back to face Crystal again, he nods knowingly.

Dr. Jimmy Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Perhaps this will be the lesson you all need. It is all for the greater good, after all. [/font]

Nurse Cindy starts to move in and Crystal starts screaming again. Diamond and Seleana struggle against the men holding them down as the Warrens move in closer, tasers at the ready, Nurse Cindy’s already clicked on and ready to go. As she gets closer, the crowd gasps.

Aurora Zdunichl:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Leave my Mommy alone![/font

As everyone watches on, the security forces tackle the twelve-year-old.

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Ok, now enough is enough.  She’s twelve![/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]I…. [/font]

Nurse Cindy turns around and glares at the little girl.

Nurse Cynthia Warren:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]Maybe you’re the one who needs the lesson![/font]

Crystal starts screaming even more terrified and as Nurse Cindy starts walking across the ring with purpose towards the child.

Crystal Caldwell:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]NO!!! NOT MY BABY!!![/font]

Diamond Caldwell:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]LEAVE HER ALONE!!![/font]

Seleana Zdunich:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]DIN JÄVLA FITTA!!![/font]

As Nurse Cindy reaches the ropes, Jessi shakes her head and charges in, Sanada and Jordan right behind her. The crowd explodes as the Queens of Chaps knock the security off of Aurora, Diamond and Seleana. Fists fly as the five adult women start fighting the security forces and then dive into the ring as more try to jump in as well. Crystal fights loose and jumps in to add to the melee. Dr. Jimmy grabs Nurse Cindy by the arm and the two run from the ring and disappear as their security forces are knocked around by the Queens of Chaos and the Zdunich-Caldwell Family. 

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]The Warrens are getting out of dodge![/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]I think three people would have rioted if that woman had done what she had in mind! [/font]

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]They threatened a twelve-year-old girl![/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]And the Queens couldn’t just stand by anymore! [/font]

As the security forces leave the area, Seleana, Diamond and Crystal hug Aurora. Jessi, Sanada and Jordan motion at the security guys to come back but they leave behind their employers. Slowly the Queens nod to each other and turn around to face Crystal, Diamond, Seleana and Aurora. The crowd watches on slowly seemingly coming to a standstill as the six women and little girl.

[font color="FF0000"]Nick Hanson:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]What is going to happen now?[/font]

[font color="76A5AF"]Jim Reynolds:[/font] [font color="f3f3f3"]I have no idea… your guess is as good as mine. [/font]

Crystal looks at the Queens of Chaos, the Queens all looking back. Diamond and Seleana stand on either side of their wife, both looking ready for anything. Aurora looks over from her mothers and stares for a second at the Queens of Chaos, her young eyes questioning just as much as her mothers’. Jessi Ozborne allows a small nod and that’s all that’s needed. Aurora runs over and hugs Jessi, the crowd exploding all over again as Jessi smiles and hugs the girl back. Diamond and Seleana step over and extend hands to Sanada and Jordan, who each accept the handshakes gratefully. Crystal steps over and all six embrace each other around the twelve-year-old, the crowd screaming its approval vociferously.

Backstage, Seleana Zdunich is tending to her twelve-year-old daughter, Aurora, after the attack that has just taken place inside the arena. Seleana gets down on one knee in front of Aurora, looking the child in her eyes.   

Seleana Zdunich: How are you? Are you…?

Aurora looks up into her mother’s eyes and nods slowly, unable to really comprehend what just happened to all of them.

Aurora Zdunich: I’m ok, Mommy.

Seleana squeezes her daughter’s shoulders, scanning the little girl from head to toe as she does so.

Seleana Zdunich: Did they hurt you?

Aurora shakes her head, still visibly shaken from the ordeal.

Aurora Zdunich: No.

Seleana hugs her and Aurora hugs back.

Aurora Zdunich: Why did that happen?

Seleana bites her lip, her lack of explanation hitting her right where it hurts. This entire night was not making her feel like a failure as a mother. Finally she leans back to look her daughter in the eye and say the only thing she could at the moment.

Seleana Zdunich: I don’t know, Älskling. I am keen to know myself.

Aurora nods and the two hug again. As they remain in their embrace, Christina “Crystal Hilton” Zdunich and Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell walk into the room, both dressed to compete as Diamond’s match was yet to come while Crystal’s had obviously already occurred.

Crystal Hilton: Honey, are you alright?

Seleana pulls back and releases her own grip on Aurora to allow the twelve-year-old to answer her other two mothers. Aurora quickly clamps onto Christina the same way she had Seleana only moments earlier.

Aurora Zdunich: I love you, Mommy.

Christina leans over and kisses the little girl’s head.

Crystal Hilton: I love you, too, Sweetheart.

Diamond nods and hugs the little girl as well. Aurora moves her right arm to widen the embrace to include Diamond. Seleana steps back in to complete the family embrace. As they separate, Aurora goes and sits down in a chair near the wall while the three adult women remain standing together in a small circle.

Alexandra Caldwell-Zdunich: What was that about?

Seleana shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: Those were the same people that took her from SCW.

Alexandra Caldwell-Zdunich: The hell were they doing here?

Christina exhales heavily.

Crystal Hilton: They’re pissed at me.

Seleana shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: It is not just you, ja?

Diamond nods her agreement with Seleana.

Alexandra Caldwell-Zdunich: Yeah, that didn’t sound like it was just about you. They went after all of us and they were gonna taze a twelve-year-old. That’s not just about you.

Christina crosses her arms, her frown deepening with every second.

Crystal Hilton: I don’t understand…

Seleana glances over at the little girl and then back to her wife.

Seleana Zdunich: They believe we have wronged them somehow.

Diamond shakes her head.

Alexandra Caldwell-Zdunich: I don’t care what any of us might have done, nothing justifies what she was gonna do. 

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

Christina exhales heavily.

Crystal Hilton: I’m sorry.

Seleana shakes her head quickly.

Seleana Zdunich: This was not your fault, Chickie. You have done some bad things, but as Alex said, nothing you have ever done can make this right.

Alexandra Caldwell-Zdunich: Damn right! There is no way to justify this!

Christina nods slowly but remains quiet. Seleana nods to Diamond.

Seleana Zdunich: You must prepare. You wrestle soon.

Diamond nods.

Alexandra Caldwell-Zdunich: Yeah… we’ll have to finish this after…

Seleana kisses her.

Seleana Zdunich: I love you. Kick ass, ja?

Christina steps over and kisses Diamond as well.

Crystal Hilton: I love you too. Thank you for coming to help.

Aurora comes running over and hugs Diamond.

Aurora Zdunich: I love you, Mommy. Do good!

Diamond smiles at her family.

Alexandra Caldwell-Zdunich: I love you all too.

Diamond turns and heads to the Go Position while Seleana takes Aurora's hand.

Seleana Zdunich: Come. we’ll go wait over here, ja?

Aurora nods and Christina follows as they make their way back towards a safer room to wait for Diamond’s match.

Black Friday…

The day after Thanksgiving had typically been a big one for shopping, especially in certain areas of Los Angeles. All the rich people, all the poor people, all the people in between usually made this the day that store owners dreamt of every night and store employees dreaded more than any other working day if only because of the unreal crush of humanity that was always expected. Management expected to make their year from a financial standpoint while employees expected to work inhuman hours over the course of three days for the sake of their bosses getting to look good on a spreadsheet that only their bosses really cared about.

Seleana Zdunich was familiar with this from several different points of view.

She had been both the employee, the management and now was even the ownership end of a business. She understood how it was to be on all angles of this unofficial holiday. Her wife usually tried to celebrate it even moreso than businesses did as Christina “Crystal Hilton” Zdunich liked to make a splash with her gifts. She tended to do it every year and go all out.

This would not be that year.

After the beating dispensed upon her in what is now officially her last match in SCW, Chistina was not going to be doing much of anything for at least another week, or so the doctors had told her and everyone around her. Between that and their other partner, Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell, also being injured with a shoulder problem, no one in the house felt like doing much retail celebrating at the moment.

As Seleana Zdunich contemplates the future, her friend, Dr. Michelle “Chavy” Chavez, comes walking into the office.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: So how are things?

Seleana looks up, suddenly snapped out of her dazed and wandering mind state.

Seleana Zdunich: Hm?         

Now embarrassed to have been caught like that and found zoning out, to say nothing of being sorry and ashamed to have not noticed Chavy’s entrance into the room.

Seleana Zdunich: Oh, heya, Chickie, how’s it?

Chavy walks over and takes a seat opposite Seleana.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: How are things at home with you?

Seleana sits back in her chair, sighing heavily as she does so. She didn’t really want to go into everything but she also didn’t want to lie to her friend.

Seleana Zdunich: I did as you suggested, gave some friends a ring to see if they were free and keen to help.

Chavy nods approvingly.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: And were they?

Seleana nods back affirmatively.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, Luck was on our side. Paloma was in San Diego and Loti was able to come as well. I did not want to disturb them if it could be avoided. Loti has been happy with Song in Las Vegas and Paloma has been traveling enough between Mount Diablo in the north and San Diego in the south.

Taking in the expression on Seleana’s face, Chavy almost laughs, meaning to hold it to slight smirk instead.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Let me guess, they both couldn’t get here fast enough when you said you needed help, right? 

Seleana’s mouth falls open in surprise. She catches herself before she can ask how Chavy knew this and just nods ever so slightly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja… they both call me silly.

Chavy can’t stop herself from laughing this time. 

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Well, if the shoe fits…

Seleana exhales and nods, a small smile forcing its way onto her face.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja… I just…

She swallows hard.

Seleana Zdunich: I knew she had bad feelings about her but I did not expect…

Chavy nods understandingly as Seleana trails off.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: You didn’t expect it to go where it went.

Seleana shakes her head adly.

Seleana Zdunich: I did not expect it to end like that, especially not with who it ended against. I would have understood if it had been Alicia Lukas or Kayla Richards. Mercedes Vargas and Masque would have made sense as well. Even Jesie Salco would have made sense in a way but… Bella Madison? 

She shakes her head again.

Seleana Zdunich: I did not see…

She sighs, anguish clearly visible on her face.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: She will be alright. A change in scenery might do her good. She’s been in SCW how long? Won the championship how many times?

Seleana gives a half-hearted nod.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, I know.  She is hall of fame in SCW. There was more of them here but now I am the only one that remains of the family.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: Does that bother you?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not know.  It is early, ja?

Chavy nods.

Dr. Michelle Chavez: You’ll figure things out, Sel.  You alway do.

Seleana nods weakly again, not really knowing what to say but also not really wanting to disagree.

Seleana Zdunich: I hope so.

The camera opens on Seleana Zdunich sitting in her chair behind her desk in her office at the Zdunich Zoological Gardens, looking tired and almost downtrodden.

Seleana Zdunich: It is a new era, ja?

She folds her hands in front of her.

Seleana Zdunich: My wife no longer wrestles here in SCW. Christian and Mark’s long nightmare has finally ended and in a way that some would call satisfying.

Her hands part and land flat on the desk.

Seleana Zdunich: The worst part to me is not that she was injured in such a violent manner. That is always a possibility every time we step into the ring. It is like getting in the cage with a wild animal. No matter how much you think you know. No matter how well you think you know the beast, there is alway that possibility that something could go wrong and go wrong in catastrophic fashion. I have raised a lioness named Sarabi from the time she was born. I bottle-fed her as a baby and have played with her even up until now when she is a full grown cat. I am a mother to her.

A slight shrug meets the camera’s eye.

Seleana Zdunich: But I never forget that she is a lion and she can do damage even while just playing. She is a majestic creature who deserves all the love and care I can give her but she must also be treated with the respect being a fully grown lion deserves. The same can be said of the ring in which we compete. Bad things can happen at any time and if we are not careful, the capability exists for…

She nods sadly, grimly.

Seleana Zdunich: Shit to go sideways, as I have heard said, ja?

She nods grimly again.

Seleana Zdunich: So it was with my wife. She made many enemies, wrestled many matches, won many championships and in the end, went out flat on her back on a gurney requiring medical attention and I cannot even say with a straight face that she did not deserve something like that to happen.

She shrugs sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: It was only a matter of time, ja?

She looks directly into the camera, her expression softening noticeably.

Seleana Zdunich: I love you, Christina. I will miss working together.

She exhales heavily, looking down momentarily at her desk.

Seleana Zdunich: I was asked if this would affect me as it pertains to working here in SCW and I understand why.

Looking up slowly, Seleana almost begs the camera to know the answer before she says it.

Seleana Zdunich: I came here because of my wife and for my wife. She asked, some would call it beg, and I come to SCW to make her happy. Now that she is gone, it make sense that I would leave as well, ja?

She nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, it makes sense and maybe I should be… done…

She stands up behind the desk.

Seleana Zdunich: But I am not done. I am not leaving and I do not care if that displeases you.

She points to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: I came here for my wife but I stayed until I managed success for me. I stayed after that to try for more for me. This is not about my wife, this is about me, this is about Seleana Zdunich. I am the one who has never questioned who I am. I am the one who has never changed my name or tried to be something else.  I have always been me and I will continue to be me even if it means I am sometime the gatekeeper for returning legends as I am now against Mackenzie  Page of London Underground.

She nods, the hand falling away back to her side.

Seleana Zdunich: That team was an established name when I arrived here and it continued to dominate for several years after I arrived. It has been nearly three years since the last reign but I am willing to bet all the money many of us have that she is still a competitor worthy of that name!

She points to herself again.

Seleana Zdunich: But I am also still me. I am Seleana Zdunich. I have won multiple championships as well and I am not done! I will meet Mackenzie Page in that ring and we will show the world that we are both still here and still ready to take on the world.

She motions at the camera to come forward.

Seleana Zdunich: Come on Mackenzie and we will go together, ja?
