Don't wait for opportunities to be given, create them. Find a way in and make what you need. Well that has certainly been happening for us lately, first the casino, then Kenz massive win over Mikah, all in the space of a few days. That is what you call not sitting around with your thumb up your arse and actually going and making something happen for yourself. It's much more than most people around in SCW is prefer to do sod all and get something in return. Me make things happen and Kenz proved that even the underdog can make things happen. Me, Os and Charley were and still are well happy for her, over a week after the biggest win in her career, more than proud of her, but we didn't spend time dwelling on that, everything that happened was expected. Yes, Mikah did go on her usual I lost so I might leave Twitter thing as expected and I guess I didn't help by poking the bear a little there, but I almost saw a human side to her, almost admitting to her whole thing being a front and wanting to be accepted, but I didn't really overly have time to sit there and put on a nut doctors hat and have a chat with her to make her feel all happy. That day, we were incredibly busy people and that is the day we're going back to, to have a chat about.
If you're one of them people who like to watch every SCW promo, immerse yourself in what you do, then you would have seen Dani Weston's promo for last week, that also showed this day. You'd have seen Dani working her little arse off to help us get the casino off the ground, but you didn't see the stuff before that, and what lead to that stuff. This is gonna be one of those promos that link in and flashback all at the same time, pretty decent eh?
Anyway, lemme set the scene for ya a bit cause limited time and all that. Two Sunday's ago was an incredible success, shocks happened and we were buzzing, but the world don't stop turning and we made a quick exit back to Las Vegas, The Golden Ring Casino wasn't gonna sort itself out, so we had to go back and deal with that. Being a couple of hours away helped our speedy return. A lot of plans were already in place, but one big thing was needed, someone to actually take care of the place while we were out making other moves, that's what lead to a call back to England. Need someone you can trust in a business that will make you millions, right.
MONDAY 27th AUGUST 2018 - 1.20am
The home of London Underground in the mountain area of Las Vegas was always a peaceful place to be, especially in the early hours. Close enough to see the lights of a place tourists flock to constantly, yet far enough away to not hear the noise to come with it. Daniel, Osbourne, Charlotte and Mackenzie has made haste to get home, swinging by their newly acquired Casino for a short time before making the short trip home. While Osbourne took a few minutes on the balcony, a thick cigar in between his strong fingers, Daniel sat at a table inside, with Mackenzie sprawled across the sofa nearby, the magnitude of what happened a few hours ago almost non-existent as she relaxes. Charlotte walks over from the bar in the living room, handing a glass of whiskey to Daniel as he opens up a laptop.
"Cheers." Daniel says gratefully as he nods at Charlotte.
Charlotte takes a seat around the table, opposite Daniel and behind the laptop screen, unable to see what Daniel is doing.
"You lot can go to bed if ya want." He tells them. "Hard work starts in a few hours."
"I'm good." Mackenzie says, a peaceful tone to her voice. "I'm happy laying here soaking in the moment."
"Not bad for someone who didn't really wanna face her." Charlotte says looking towards her.
"Still." Mackenzie replies. "I beat Mikah, she'll probably quit in the morning, tonight has been a good night."
A wide smile crosses Mackenzie's face as she puts her hands behind her head and stretches back. Charlotte looks down at a notepad, picking up a pen and starts to write.
"Right." Daniel says with an exhale. "I better make that call back to David. Need someone out here to run the place while we're a little busy."
"Any idea who?" Charlotte asks.
"Oh, I got a good idea who." Daniel says looking across at her. "Down to if David will let him come over here and do it."
"Well, you're the boss." Mackenzie adds. "David just enjoys the power when you're not there."
David Morgan, brother of Daniel, was not the most popular amongst the group. His reckless and unthoughtful ways had a habit of rubbing people the wrong way.
"Maybe." Daniel starts. "But we need to keep on the same page. We're not moving all base of operations over here, need to balance it out."
Daniel clicks away on the laptop, opening up a program to communicate with lands far away. He clicks the Skype icon, opening up the programs.
"We get who I want over here." Daniel says with a smile. "He'll work his bollocks off and we can focus on the other stuff."
Daniel clicks away at the buttons to till a chat box appears on the screen. Daniel hits call and the familiar Skype call can be heard. After a few seconds, the face of Daniel younger brother, David appears on the screen.
"The bloody hell you want?" David says gruffly. "It's not even nine in the morning."
"And good morning to you too brother." Daniel replies. "Be bloody glad it's not six in the morning. Sounds like someone was on the sauce last night."
David looks at the screen, exhaling.
"Well some of us didn't have the option to put on tights and roll around a ring." The sarcastic David replies.
"That's cause some of us can do it and you can't." Mackenzie calls out from the sofa.
"I see you haven't had ya pitball neutered." David says.
"Might wanna be careful before she bites ya leg." Daniel tells David with a smile. "Ok, time to talk a little business my old son. Casino as you now is very much ours, next week, we ain't working so much for the other place, followed by a couple of weeks off there, so that will give us time to whip the place in to shape."
"What are you thinking there?" David asks.
"Alright, right now, it's just an arse end casino a little away from everything else." Daniel starts "So it's off the main stream areas, but the land is ours too, which means it can be expanded on a ton. We pull the people to us and we're on a turnover of about six mil a year. The whole place needs security big time, needs a bit of an overhaul decorating, but I'm thinking an extension, hotel, theatre, shops. Pull people off the strip to us."
"Sounds pretty fucking pricey." David comments.
"Five hundred grand going in to the refurb right now" Daniel tells him.
David looks shocked on the other end of the screen.
"Are you having a bubble son?" David says with shock. "Five hundred thousand smackers already."
"Yeah." Daniel says. "But it will pay for itself. Pull people in, let it be known wrestlers own the gaff, we're look at twenty k a day, one forty a week, five sixty a month. Take away sixty for costs and staff, we make that back in a month."
"And these shops and theatre?" David asks.
"Now that bread is a bit heavy." Daniel responds.
Daniel looks across at Charlotte who writes something down, before sliding it in front of Daniel. Daniel looks at it and back up at the screen.
"Three and a half mil heavy without the hotel." Daniel says seriously.
"Fucking hell." David says shocked. "With the hotel?"
Daniel looks across at Charlotte again, who writes another figure down and hands it across to Daniel. Daniel cracks his neck backwards in surprise.
"About eighteen mil." Daniel tells him.
"Well fuck me sideways and call me Susie." David says with disbelief in his tone.
Daniel puts a hand up, stopping him from talking more.
"It's all as we can afford it." Daniel tells him. "Five hundred in, make back in a month or two, profits reinvested, profits go up, by the time all that is said and done, we're looking at about fifty grand a day Casino wise, all the rest is a bonus. Say with the rest, hotel, shops, theatre, we could be looking at over hundred grand a day after costs."
David leans back in his chair, looking at the computer screen at Daniel.
"See I like the incoming numbers, not so much on the out going." David says.
"You worry too much." Daniel tells him. "There's one other thing I need to get from ya and I'll let ya go for elevenses or something."
"Right now the pie and mash shop when you piss off." David replies. "What is it?"
"I need someone over here to run things when I'm not about." Daniel tells him. "I can't be making moves elsewhere and still have to run this place at the same time. Need an assistant manager in place."
"What about the ape?" David says with a smug look.
Daniel knew he was talking about Osbourne, but smiled at his younger brother.
"I'm not sure Os is people friendly." Daniel tells him. "Os, Charley and Kenz are very much needed working with me on what I need done. Soon as this place starts taking off, the bigger families are gonna be looking at us, wondering what we're all about, and we need to make some very big moves to show them we ain't some fly by night group and to show them we ain't the push us around group."
"So who are you thinking?" David asks as he leans back in his chair.
"I'm thinking Nick." Daniel tells him. "He's got what I think we need to make it work."
David rubs the top of his head, looking down the camera at his older brother, an apprehensive look on his face.
"Couple of things." David starts. "One, Nicky is a top earner here, people respect him, he has his reputation here and people don't give him much grief. Two, he's run a few card tables, gambling things, but nothing on that scale. Three, do you really wanna put that tart around the people of Vegas?"
Daniel smiles at David, knowing full well what he meant but those words.
"I do wanna put him around the people, but I will make him keep his nose clean and work his nuts off." Daniel tells him. "He's not some whelk wet behind the ears, he knows this will be a big opportunity for him over here to make the extra bunce and better himself. We all knew out of everyone on that level, he's the most likely to step up. Yeah, he's an earner there but imagine what he would be over here. We got people ready to step up there to replace Nick. All they need to do is fill his size elevens and keep going what he started."
David continues to look apprehensive.
"I gotta trust your judgement on this even though I think you're off your trolley here." David tells him. "But when do you want him? Next week?"
"Today." Daniel tells him. "Next flight out. Get him on a flight and with the time difference, he'll arrive here not long after he left."
"Are you fucking kidding me?" David asks.
"No." Daniel responds. "Get him on a flight right away, tell him to sleep on the plane and let me know what time he's meant to be here and I'll send Os to meet him at the airport."
David sighs as he shakes his head at Daniel.
"I seriously hope you know what you're playing at here." David tells him. "Seriously hope you do, cause this is the biggest job you've ever asked of him. If he bends it over and fucks it in the wrong un, on your head be it son."
"Gotta give people a chance to shine." Daniel tells him "If not, they'll be stuck in a rut forever and let's be honest, if no one gave us a chance to step up, we'd still be chasing plonkers for a score."
David finally concedes, looking at Daniel through the computer.
"Like I said, on your head be it." David repeats. "I'll make the arrangements and drop you a flight number in a bit."
"Much appreciated." Daniel says with a smile. "I'll catch ya later."
Daniel clicks the button on the computer and looks around at Charlotte and Mackenzie as well as Osbourne just rejoining the group.
"Nick?" Mackenzie says with a tone of surprise in her voice "Really?"
"I don't see why not." Daniel replies. "The mans a worker, makes the cash, will put all the effort he can in to the place."
"I'm with Mackenzie on this." Charlotte adds. "He likes the good life a lot."
"As long as he makes the money to do it, I can't complain to be fair." Daniel says. "He seems to have the presence about him to make people sit up and take notice of him. That is what we need here when I'm not about, or when you lot are not around. That's alright, he will do what he is told, and is loyal as fuck. We need someone that won't be swayed out here and you know as well as I do, once people start looking like they're something, people start sniffing around. He won't be tempted by other offers."
Daniel picks up his glass and drains it.
"Now I dunno about you lot but I'm hitting the sack." Daniel tells the group. "Up at seven, Casino by about eight and Os, you're picking up Nicky at the airport when David sends through the details."
*******
Let's jump back slightly to the present as we join the four members of London Underground sitting around a poker table in The Golden Ring casino. Cards are dealt in front of them but no one is taking much notice as the camera focuses on Daniel and Osbourne.
"There's a little bit more to come from that Monday." Daniel tells them. "I mean I'm sure you wanna know who Nick is, right?"
Osbourne shakes his head but Daniel catches him out of the corner of his eye.
"Ok, you don't cause ya know him but I'm sure the people at home watching this, just might." Daniel tells them. "But today is September the forth. It's pretty early in the week, but we're pretty well known for having no fear and going early, so why should this week be any different. I mean we want to give people a fighting chance against us, I mean some people need that kinda advantage, don't they Kain?"
A smirk crosses Daniel's face.
"You need someone to go early or you have nothing to talk about." Daniel says firmly. "It's alright, we can't all have the bollocks to go early and get something out of it. You're a strange little cretin aren't you Kain? I think someone was telling porkies the other week about being a recording artist, because Charlotte over there, she's pretty much down with everything in life, including music and she can't find shit about you out there selling twenty million albums. In fact, no one can. I mean she's our research girl and no one in the music business has ever heard of you, let alone sold twenty mil. I mean if you had and you was legit hot shit, we might have hired you here to do a gig, but get the feeling that twenty mil was a little exaggerated from about six copies that you sold to family. Now I'm basing you on the fact that you seem a bit like a Billy bullshitter so you probably think you was a great Mixed Tag Team champion."
Daniel shakes his head slowly.
"Pull the other one pal, it's got bells on it." Daniel says firmly. "You win a title and all of a sudden don't bother showing up to do anything other than wrestle. For a champion, you were a let down. You took the reputation we had with those titles and you basically ruined it there and then by not even showing up with them. Mercedes carried your arse and you know it, without her you wouldn't have had those titles. I mean there's a couple of things in this business that kills respect for me, quiet champions and people who are too lazy to be creative, they have to take things people say and use it against them and let's be fair son, you're both of the above. That disappoints me."
Daniel looks towards Osbourne.
"You can't see it, but it disappoints him too." Daniel says. "You probably think you were the best to have the belts but you never was. So now you think you stand a chance at stepping up and taking them once more? You beat us, or did you really beat us? Did we want to win? The answer will surprise ya, because you think you did it on merit, but you keep thinking that buddy. This time around with two teams in there, you got a lot less chance of getting those belts back. I don't know what it is about you Kain but when we did our histories of SCW and the people who came before us, you come across as a fraud, you come across as one hell of an undeserving Billy bullshitter, that somehow shit housed his way to championship runs and a Hall of Fame spot. You could possibly be the weakest Hall of Fame guy in there, the least deserved of all his success and I'll be damned if myself or Os is gonna let you claim another accolade in SCW. You didn't deserve the ones you got, you sure as hell don't deserve the one's you could get. This is a bit of a motivator to me because you don't deserve them, I can stop you from getting them, I will do just that."
Daniel looks towards Osbourne.
"Don't rate him, don't respect him, don't care if he takes this and tries to use it against us." Daniel tells Osbourne. "If there was an award for least deserved success, he'd get it all day long."
Osbourne nods in agreement.
"It's hard to even talk about someone you can't even respect and it don't get much better that this point either to be honest with ya." Daniel says with a roll of his eyes. "You go from talking about someone who don't deserve their success to someone that wants success more than anything else in the world, but goes the wrong way about it, all the damn time."
Daniel sighs softly.
"Congratulations on getting what you really wanted Caleb, a championship to call your own, but you need to be realistic about something here." Daniel says with a slight smile. "Realistically, you need to look back at all the times you tried and failed on your own to get gold. You need to look back at all the times you got mugged off when it came to getting gold on your own and choose your words wisely when you say you're carrying Sam Marlowe. Fact is, you beat Kain, nothing to be proud of, nothing to write home about. Without Sam Marlowe in the ring with you sharing the burden, you wouldn't be a champion right now. That's a little food for thought when it comes to being respectful on who you share the ring with."
Daniel breathes deeply.
"If you want the truth and I am all truth." Daniel starts. "I don't feel you're good enough for single titles, I think deep down, you know that too. I think you know in your heart of hearts that you just can't keep up with the likes of Ben Jordan or Fenris so you should be very glad that you got the chance at any level to even be able to compete for a title. Sam Marlowe is a good partner for you, but please don't get too comfortable holding those titles. We had a little chat and you know what, to stop Kain holding them again, we're gonna bring them back to us and get back the prestige that has been ruined by you and by Kain. We need to bring them back home so the titles have some respect again because when it comes down to it Caleb, you don't respect that title, you just want it for the sake of holding a title, any title."
Daniel pauses for a second.
"To you, it doesn't matter what the title is, as long as you have some leather and gold." Daniel says seriously. "You don't care what it is, and that shows you have zero respect for the gold you have, you have no respect at all for it, but as long as you can show off a belt, you're happy as a pig in much. That shouldn't be the way it is, it should never be the way it is. You should be proud of what you got, but your constant begging for shots show that you don't care about representing a division, you just care about people wanting to call you champ. It's disgraceful to be fair."
Osbourne nods his head in agreement.
"You're all gimme, gimme, gimme, but at Violent Conduct V, we're gonna be take, take, take." Daniel says with a firm, confident nod. "Because you ain't got a penny's worth of respect for that belt, so we're gonna make ya travel bag a few pounds lighter and whip that from you and give the belts the respect and credit that they deserve Caleb."
Daniel rubs his chin.
"You can blow all the air out ya that you want about finally getting what's yours Caleb, but it should never have been yours and it won't be yours much longer." Daniel tells him confidently. "You're just holding that belt till we take them off ya, the same as Kain was doing, just a bookmark, a placemat, just something there till we felt we was ready to take them back. We had to focus on getting hold of a casino, so the belts were secondary to us and guess what? We got hold of that casino, we've got plans in place to be able to have a much bigger plate to fill up and now there's just that little extra room on it to add a couple of titles to it and we will do just that. It's been nice letting some other people have a go at them but when it comes down to it, we know we're the best team going, don't even matter what combination of us it is, we're confident that we could beat anyone at this point, so without a doubt in my mind, we will be beating you and walking away with the championships once more."
Daniel nods and smiles confidently.
"No bullshit, I only deal in facts." Daniel says with a warm smile.
He looks next to him to Charlotte and Mackenzie.
"You're up." He tells them.
The camera moves around to bring Charlotte and Mackenzie in to the main shot.
