 KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

The scene fades into view with Tom Dudely knocking on a hotel room door. Room #152 to be more accurate. “Good Time” by Alan Jackson can be heard blaring from within. After a few moments without an answer, Tom pulls out a key card and slides it into the slot on the door. The door magically unlocks and Tom pushes it open. When the door is about a foot open, a glass bottle hits the wall and shatters. Tom turns away quickly to protect himself. Tom pushes the door the rest of the way open to find Wyatt Peterson dancing in the middle of the room with a bottle of Budweiser in his hand. Wyatt is oblivious to Tom’s presence as he continues to dance around and take a swig from his beer.

Tom: What the hell are you doing? Are you drunk?

Wyatt is still slightly dancing as he turns to look at Tom.

Wyatt: Ah ain’t that drunk. Ah’m jus’ havin’ a good time.

Tom: A good time that’s gonna get you in trouble. How many beers have you had?

Wyatt looks at the beer in his hand and thinks for a moment.

Wyatt: This is only mah third beer.

That’s when Tom notices the empty bottle of Jack Daniel’s on the table.

Tom: You’ve gotta be kidding me. A whole bottle of Jack?

Wyatt (smiling): Ah’m celebratin’! Me an’ Sean are gonna git the tag team champ…. Champee… champeeon… F*ck it! We’re getting’ the tag team titles.

Tom: Man, you’ve got a long way to go before you get the straps. This was just the first round.

Wyatt: Firs’ round! HA! There ain’t no one left to beat us. Me ‘n’ Sean beat our bigges’ competition tonight. Jones ‘n’ Evans were the big dogs. They’re gone so we’re the top dogs.

Tom looks at Wyatt incredulously.

Tom: You’ve gotta be kidding me!  I swear, you’ve got too big of an ego. Anyone can beat you when you get too cocky. Look at the names that are still in this tournament: Casey Williams and Blade Alexander…

Wyatt just smiles and shakes his head.

Tom: … Rage and Jamie Staggs…

Wyatt shrugs his shoulders.

Tom: … Oh, and I forgot to tell you. I got a call from Mark. He said that because of your attack on Kid Karma, he’s out of the lethal lottery tournament.

Wyatt: Ah knew that sorry sonuvabitch wouldn’ be able tah hang with me.

Tom: Of course he couldn’t hang with you. You taking him out may cost you the straps. He’s been on a hell of a losing streak but now that he’s out, they gave Bo Dreamwolf a replacement partner.

Wyatt (Shrugging): Don’ matter. Ain’t nobody gonna be able to beat us.

Tom:  You’d better hope they can’t, because you and Sean drew Bo and his new partner in the next round.

Wyatt looks a little unsure as he takes another swig from his beer.

Wyatt: Oh yeah? And umm… who’s his new partner?

Tom: His partner is a man who is undefeated in GXW. To be honest, that’s about all I know about him. Bo’s new partner, who you’re taking on in the next round of the lethal lottery tournament, is…. Drumroll please!

Tom starts slapping on the counter to create his own drumroll. He finishes it with a loud slap.

Tom: Old Skoooooool!!!

Wyatt: Oh mah God! Not Old Skool! Wait! Who’s Old Skool?

Tom (shrugs): Hell if I know. That’s about all I could get outta Mark. I don’t think he even knew who this guy is.

Wyatt: Then why should ah be worried? Ah mean, sure, Rage and Staggs look good on paper, but do they got the chemistry that me ‘n’ Sean got?

Tom: First, don’t underestimate people. That’s why you weren’t able to beat Kid Karma. You took it easy on him because you got cocky. Second, you’d better hope that you face Casey Williams and Blade Alexander if you get to the finals. Rage and Sean have history. That’s a bit of a wildcard that you don’t want to get thrown in there. Third, focus on Bo and Old Skool. They may not look like a good team on paper, but Bo alone can carry a team. Trust me. I’ve been in the ring with him before.

Wyatt takes another swig of beer as “Good Time” is still playing in the background

Tom: Do you have that on repeat?

Wyatt: Yeah. Ah’m really feelin’ this song. Thinkin’ ‘bout changin’ mah entrance music.

Tom listens to the song for a few lines. He starts nodding his head with the music.

Tom: It’s got a good beat, lyrics that describe your personality…  I like it! We’ll see if you still wanna do it after you sober up a bit though, bud.

There is a loud, very authoritative knocking at the door. Tom and Wyatt exchange looks.

Tom: Expecting company?

Wyatt shakes his head. Tom turns down the stereo and opens the door. At the door are two uniformed police officers and a man in a suit. Tom turns to Wyatt and shakes his head.

Officer #1: We’ve received a complaint about the music coming from this room.

Tom: I’m sor…

Wyatt pushes his way past Tom to tower over the three men at the door.

Wyatt: Ah don’t give a damn about no complaint! This is mah room ‘n’ ain’t nobody gonna tell me that ah can’t listen to mah music.

Man in Suit: As the manager of this establishment, I’ve received numerous complaints about the volume of the music emanating from this room. You must lower the volume at once.

Wyatt takes a half step towards the manager. The two cops step between them.

Officer #1: I smell alcohol on your breath. Have you been drinking, sir?

Wyatt: Ah’ve had a few beers. Ah’m allowed tah do that in mah hotel room.

Officer #1: Yes you are, but you still need to keep your music down as to not disturb the other guests.

Wyatt: Ah might consider it.

Officer #1: No, you’ll do more than consider it. You’ll do it or we’ll have to ask you to leave the premises.

Tom pokes his head around Wyatt.

Tom: We understand, officer. We’ll keep it down.

Wyatt pushes Tom out of the way.

Wyatt: Ah’ll do no such thing. Ah paid for this room, ah’ll use it however ah want.

Officer #1: Then we’ll have to ask you to vacate the premises.

Wyatt: Ah’ll do no such thing.

Officer #1: Then we’ll escort you off of the premises.

The officers take a step toward Wyatt. Wyatt takes a step back and attempts to close the door on them. The officers push their way inside the room. Tom steps in between the officers and Wyatt. He puts his hands up to stop the officers.

Tom: Hold on, guys! Let’s not turn this into a situation.

Officer #1: Sir, would you please remove yourself? This man is clearly too intoxicated to be allowed to stay here.

Officer #2: I think a night in a drunk tank will do him some good.

Tom: No, guys, he’s a good guy. He’s just celebrating.

Officer #1: None the less, he’s overstepped his bounds. He’s going into custody for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. I’d recommend that you get out of our way or we’ll also arrest you for obstruction of justice.

Tom steps out of the way and turns to Wyatt.

Tom: Sorry, bud. Just let them take you in. We’ll get you out in the morning.

Wyatt: But…

Tom: No! Wyatt, just go.

The officers step toward Wyatt. Wyatt puts him arms to his side and looks at the floor as Officer #2 pulls out his handcuffs. Officer #2 slaps the cuffs onto Wyatt’s left wrist and twists it behind his back. Wyatt puts his other arm behind his back allowing the officer to finish cuffing him.

Officer #1: You are under arrest for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. Are you aware of your rights?

Wyatt nods.

Officer #1: You do understand?

Wyatt: Yes, sir.

Officer #1: Let’s go.

The officers each grab one of Wyatt’s arms and lead him out of the room. Tom calls out after them.

Tom: Don’t worry, Wyatt. I’ll come get you out in the morning. Just do as they say.  Don’t give them a reason to keep you in there for too long.

Wyatt doesn’t respond as he just walks with the officers out of the room and into the hallway. The scene fades.

***THE NEXT MORNING***

The scene opens outside of the Las Vegas jail. Parked in front is Tom Dudely’s green 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Tom is leaning against the car as Wyatt walks out of the building.

Tom: Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.

Wyatt: Shut up. Ah haven’t had a good night.

Tom laughs.

Tom: I can imagine. Was that your first time getting arrested?

Wyatt nods. Tom slaps him on the shoulder.

Tom: Don’t worry. It’ll probably happen again. It’s one of those things that come with fame.

Wyatt: Ah hope it don’t happen again. Ah don’t like takin’ a dump with a bunch of other guys watchin’ me.

Tom bursts out in laughter.

Tom: Get in. We’ll get you some lunch before getting ready to head to L.A.

Tom walks around the car and climbs into the driver’s side while Wyatt climbs into the passenger’s seat. Wyatt whistles as he looks around the interior of the car.

Wyatt: This is quite a ride.

Tom: Thanks. I rebuilt it myself. Everything in it is stock except for the stereo system.

Wyatt looks at the radio.

Wyatt: That’s perty nice. Let’s get some music playin’.

Tom: That sounds good.

Tom starts the car and the radio comes to life. Playing is “Good Time” by Alan Jackson. Wyatt and Tom look at each other and laugh.

Wyatt: Sounds good to me. Let’s get some grub.

Tom pulls away from the curb. Wyatt and Tom can be heard singing as they drive off.

Tom and Wyatt: G with an O. O with a D. T with an I and an M and an E. That’s a goodtime!

The scene fades.
