Down some hallway, at Glacier Gardens, walks a battered woman. Its Karina Koji feeling the effects of rebirth in a quiet little corner of San Diego. She told herself win or lose what mattered was that she had a real fight. Kittie had provided that fight. Karina felt broken, but she could feel herself growing stronger through the breaks. She looked at the dried blood on her hands and laughed.
Turning a corner she stumbled upon a group of fans, in fact she nearly crashes into them. At first the move to stay out of her way, but one of them takes a good look at Karina. Her face lights up and she offers her drink to Karina.
“Your Aleksei’s sister right....the one who nearly won the title tonight! Your a brutal bitch, man!” says the drunk girl.
Karina looks at her. She had forgotten that the match had been for gold. It hadn’t mattered then, but for some reason it mattered now. “the Roulette title.” she said almost to herself but the girl nodded her head, nearly spilling her drink in the process. Karina could care less about the girl but the belt...the belt had mattered.
Right now most people hear the Koji name they think of Aleksei Koji. The much loved drunken fool. A decent fighter when he wants to be but more known for his ability to drink and his never ending quest for breast. If she had won the title, then that is what people would think about when they heard her family name.
At that moment surrounded by local fans, in a concrete hallway with cheap beer on her shoes, Karina Koji connected a thousand dots all at once to come up with a map in her brain that only she could read. In that moment she found the rebirth that came after every match. The rebirth that carried her to her next death, the cycle that has ruled her life since she first had visions. She grabbed the drunk woman by her shirt.
“Please, tell me where the fuck is my brother!?” she ask. The startled woman points for the nearest outside door. Karina looks with a predator’s gaze, lets go of the women and stalks forward to her destiny.
