Don't you just hate it when families get torn apart a bit? I am a big fan of togetherness, having a bond, but the little family of Gabriel is slowly getting picked apart by a couple of people. Me, Os and the girls don't take sides, we couldn't give a monkeys about the little fight within the house the Gabriel and Odette built, but we don't like it when a good thing gets ruined. I'm of course talking about our brothers in arms, Evie Baang and Fenris. If only those two could see how alike they are. Both have the same mental strength, both have the same weakness, the weakness of failing to see past their own noses lately. I know they're on a collision course on Sunday and may the best person win, but when family fight, as yes, people who walk through the door of Gabriel and Odette's gym to be trained and mentored, they become part of the little family.... But those two.... Bloody hell...
You have Evie who has become this cryptic, cold woman, who at one point, dropped the do it alone motif and joined in, tried to make herself part of the group. She's almost gone from focused to emo just like that. From someone who had pride in her work, to someone just going through the motions, and then you have Fenris who, let's be honest, has become a complete and utter dick, jumping on everything people have to say, like a pissed off pitbull, or the one who gets told no and decides to just be known as a menace. Even I've had my doubts about him, after all, I'm the one to blame for him being here, even I've started to wonder where my marbles are, seeing what he's become, I'm the one to blame for putting him in a position where his ego is getting out of control.
I guess this is what tonight's about really, group bonding if you will. I know there's potential for blood on the carpet, I know that this is a strained relationship, but I just want to prove one little thing.... That they can stay in a room together without ripping each others heads off. I've had enough of seeing this, Gabriel has no doubt noticed that the people he's trusted to put his name on, has become a little petty, it's time to unite the family again and put things together again. It ain't no humpty dumpty story, because once Sunday's out of the way, things will get put back together again.
And that is why they are both invited to my little get together, no Courtney Pierce, no Devin Tyler, just the group who's had the same thing drilled in to them, maybe this night will get the emo knocked out of Evie, and the dick like actions out of Fenris.
But before we get in to the party, we need to focus on us and a pair of mixed tag team championships....
A new home for the crew of London Underground, a four bedroom place in the hills, overlooking the streets of Vegas. The camera moves on to the faces of Daniel J Morgan and Osbourne as the stand on the balcony, looking at the various lights around them from the very few nearby houses. Daniel lens on the rail, looking around as Osbourne stands behind him, his left hand covering his right. Daniel looks at the camera in front of him and starts to speak.
"It's amazing how many people get a shot at gold, then clam up." He starts. "It's amazing how much people get a chance to write history, yet can't be arsed to put the effort in."
He glances his eyes back at Osbourne.
"It baffles me." Daniel says to the man who just nods his head once. "Baffling how you can get what you want, get a chance for that little bit of extra fame and yet can't be bothered to put the effort in to do anything."
Daniel turns his head back towards the camera.
"Especially when no one knows who you are and no idea what to expect." Daniel says pushing his hands together. "I'm looking in your direction Maxim Seraphina. Clearly you're treating this like a game mate, when you got a chance to hit the ground running, but nah, just gonna sit there and shut up. Must be a busy week to be doing all those assassinations in ya little fantasy world. Time for you to snap back a little bit to reality and get involved in real life, like most people around here. See, we're in the real world, we're up and ready to take on and write history while you sit there scratching your arse and planning on killing people in a make believe world. Oh Maxim you little disappointment you. You could have been so much more, you coulda actually been some competition, but nah, hide away playing kill people for money. It's funny, I haven't read anywhere that people have been assassinated, so it only brings me to the conclusion that those little grapefruits between your legs have shrunk up, turned in to marbles when you realized that you simply can not win this match, so you have become a bit of a wimp, bit of a pussy really."
Daniel smiles as he shrugs his left shoulder.
"To be fair, you wouldn't have stood much more of a chance, even if you did open that gob of yours." Daniel says confidently. "But at least we'd have known a little more what you're all about. We ain't gonna underestimate you, but you've shown you don't have the stones for this. Your silence speaks volumes about pretty much everything. It shows you have no commitment, it shows you have no urge to be here, it shows that you ain't ready to have your name in the history of SCW. As much as we won't under estimate, we sure as shit ain't worried about you. You are not a threat to us in this one pal."
Daniel takes a deep breath.
"You're as bad as Acquin, but he may just have a slight edge on you for being pathetic..." Daniel says softly. "I mean he's apparently Mr SCW, but pretty much proved last week that he has fuck all pride in that title."
Daniel turns his head and looks towards Osbourne.
"Who calls themselves that and half arses everything he ever does?" Daniel asks Osbourne, who shrugs his shoulders. "It's seriously embarrassing to have that title on someone who doesn't actually do anything to promote his company. You see Mr SCW and you look at him, you look at his work ethic, his list of achievements, look at him as a leader amongst men. That's the way it's meant to be but you look at Acquin, and what do you see? No work ethic, no extra effort, never broke away from the bottom of the card, never done anything worthy of a special, been in no big matches, and people wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire."
Daniel turns back towards the camera.
"It's true." Daniel says with a slight nod of his head. "You're not a leader, you're not respected, people do not look up to you, there's no way on Gods green earth should you ever be considered to be Mr SCW. I think SCW should do another match to crown someone much more deserving then bottom of the barrel Acquin. This match will prove further that you don't deserve that title, because you're gonna be made to look seriously embarrassed by this one. All those, just give me the belts cause I make you money bollocks, is gonna prove to be just that Acquin, nothing but a big steaming pile of horse shit. As we say back in the motherland, you're all mouth and no trousers, all fur coat and no knickers. It generally means you talk a good game but when you get down to it, you see that there's absolutely no substance to you, none at all. Just a guy who someone has ended up in a big pond, when you're the littlest of fishes. It's not because you make money for anyone, I'm surprised you make money for yourself. If they paid you for effort, you'd owe the company money. Congrats for sneaking in to another title match. It ain't gonna be worth your time, because you'll be getting that old family feeling of loss again, but still, I do hate an entitled bitch, so either me or Os are gonna take great pleasure in whacking you."
Daniel turns his body around ninety degrees and casts another look towards Osbourne.
"And that's the losers out of the way." Daniel tells Osbourne "The voiceless people around, and now I gotta talk about someone who could be bothered to talk. Unless you wanna do it?"
Osbourne shakes his head towards Daniel, causing Daniel to roll his eyes and turn back towards the camera.
"Didn't think so." Daniel mutters to himself. "It looks like at least one of our opponents had the decency to get his face out there, Wyatt Peterson."
Daniel raises both his hands.
"Now I know last week, I gave him a million and one nicknames." Daniel says with an honest smile. "But in the last week, things in me have changed a little, my views on Wyatt Peterson has changed because although we wasn't mentioned, nor was the match, at least a video aired showing that he was still around, and for that, I thank you or this whole little rant thing woulda just been me bitching about no shows, saying you were all scared or something, but after just a promo video of Wyatt and a couple of tweets, I think Wyatt proved he is a guy to be respected."
Daniel lowers his hands and puts them on the rail below.
"Wyatt, even through a tough time, reminded the world that he's still about, that he's human, that he has that emotional side." Daniel says, his eyes looking directly down the camera. "He could have cried off to mourn, he could have hid away, but no, he was putting his face out there and I respect that."
Daniel takes a deep breath.
"And I am sorry for your loss Wyatt." Daniel says sincerely. "Loss is strange thing, you can lose a million things in life and they all revoke the same feelings, regret, bargaining, disbelief, and we too have had that loss in our lives recently. Nothing as close as losing something you've had in your life like a beloved pet, but we felt that emptiness when we could no longer call ourselves champions, when we could no longer head a division. The hole that left was huge, it was disappointing, it was like something was missing and you know, it's a kick in the bollocks. There's a difference though Wyatt, while your loss will never be replaced, that black hole inside your heart is gonna be there forever, our loss, our sense of suffering ends on Sunday at Into The Void VII, because we will get back what puts a hole in our heart."
Daniel puts his right hand on his chest, covering his heart.
"We get to win those Mixed Tag Team championships." Daniel tells the world via the camera. "We get to replace our sense of loss with a sense of joy once more, we get to be champions again, we get to have the belts we deserved from the start. You see it's a new era when it comes to teams in SCW on Sunday, a brand new era where names will be written in to the SCW history books, and our names are going right in there, our names will always be number one, no one in this match can ever compete with that."
Daniel stands up straight.
"Now, I've said what I've had to..." He says with a slight nod of his head. "I think it's pretty clear where we stand on things and in there right now, we got a little get together going on, be rude to keep our guests waiting for our company. Maxim, Joshua, Wyatt, this story has already been written, we will be the ones walking out with those championship belts. You can't stop us."
Daniel smiles and nods as he turns around, walking back in to the room connected to the balcony. He looks around at the room, a modern room with a huge television on the wall in front of a U shaped sofa, and coffee table in the middle of it, around the sofa sits Fenris, next to his brother Aron, alongside Despayre and Synn. Around the turn of the U in the corner sits a heavily pregnant Odette Steven, her arm entwined with her husband Gabriel. Next to Gabriel sits a new face to the group a young lady by the name of Danielle Weston, the latest trainee of Odette and Gabriel's, a woman with a world of potential, while keeping her feet firmly on the ground. Around the next corner and along the final straight, sits Charlotte Elliot and Mackenzie Page. To Daniel's right, sitting at a table on her own, Evie Baang sits looking at a drink in front of her, isolating herself from the group. Daniel looks towards Evie and moves in front of her, pulling out a seat opposite her and sits down while Osbourne joins the group on the sofa as they chat amongst themselves.
"Alright, which one of them dropped one and forced ya over here?" Daniel asks with a slight smile
Evie looks up at him, a little confused by his comment.
"Huh?" She replies.
"What are you doing all the way over here?" Daniel asks her.
Evie stares her drink with her straw, not showing much interest in a conversation with anyone.
"Cause I don't wanna be over there." She tells him with a firm tone. "How long do I have to be here for?"
Her strong Australian accent was pulling no punches tonight, but Daniel brushes it off.
"It's like the song says." He says casually. "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."
Daniel smiles at his reference to the song Hotel California, but Evie rolls her eyes.
"What's the point of all this?" She asks harshly.
"The point is to prove that you and him can sit in a room for a few hours without killing each other." Daniel tells her. "Maybe it's to prove that even if you don't think it right now, you still have family in this room."
Evie looks up at Daniel, her eyes filled with fire.
"He is not my family." She says through gritted teeth.
"Everyone Gabriel and Odette train become family." Daniel tells her. "Thing is, you two are doing the same thing. He's pushing himself away from the group because his ego makes people not want to be around him, and you're pulling away from the group because you think you're playing second fiddle and not seeing the attention he's getting from the group is not the good kind."
"I have no clue what you're talking about." Evie tells Daniel. "And it's not your accent, I'm used to that."
"Maybe this will help explain it." Daniel says to her. "You're the oldest child, the first one that lead the way for us lot to follow, but since you was the first, you've allowed us lot to follow. With every new wrestler they might train, you think the attention goes away from you and on to them. Fenris was the straw that broke the camels back because he came in with all the controversy from his MMA stuff, so you think Mummy and Daddy over there don't love you anymore, or that they lean towards Fenris."
Evie knew that Daniel was referring to Odette and Gabriel in terms of Mummy and Daddy.
"But here's the thing Ms Baang." Daniel says leaning in close. "Those two don't play favourites, and they don't judge. They took an Australian who has a thing for taking information without permission and they worked with you, they took a woman who dreamed of wrestling as kid from down south and trained her, along with a book smart giant, and an idiot who once walked around a revolving door for an hour cause he saw his own reflection in the glass. They took a pissed up widower on a downward spiral, they took that young girl over there who's had about one hundred jobs trying to make ends meet, and they took four people on, knowing full well what we do, and they judged none of us. They looked out for the lot of us, and still do."
"And where exactly did you get your PhD?" Evie asks sarcastically.
"I got it from watching people Evie." Daniel tells her. "See, me and you, we ain't much different, if fact, we're a lot alike. We both go for what we want, by hook or by crook, we get it. Our methods are not strictly on the right side of the law. Because of that, you have to be very observant, you have to be able to read people, because your line of work before this, my extra curricular activity now, you need to stay one step ahead, you have to predict peoples moves, you have to predict peoples moods changing their moods."
"Have you got a point to this or so you just like hearing the sound of your own voice?" Evie asks, making solid eye contact with Daniel.
Daniel smiles and shakes her head, he got a kick out of her honesty.
"A little from column A, a little from column B." Daniel tells her. "My point is, Gabriel and Odette are fairly straight forward to read. Doesn't matter if you've won everything or nothing. It doesn't matter if you haven't debuted yet like Dani, or Beauty and The Beast, it doesn't matter if you choke and get scared after a match with the World champion, where you pull every excuse out under the sun from your arse, those two are proud of you, those two won't treat you any different from anyone else."
"Well thanks for that doc." Evie says, more sarcasm dripping from her tone.
"Mock all you want." Daniel tells her "But truer words won't be spoken tonight. They take you under their wing, you're there for life, even if you do wanna get away from certain siblings."
"He's not my sibling." Evie says through gritted teeth.
"Oh he is." Daniel informs her. "But you're missing the big picture."
Evie rolls her eyes towards Daniel, looking away for a brief second before picking up her drink and taking a sip through her straw. She places the glass back on the table and look at him.
"Oh and what's the big picture oh wise guru?" She says in her now familiar tone to reflect her mood.
"Big picture is if you break away from the group, you don't win, he does." Daniel says pointing a thumb towards Fenris. "You end up out there on ya own in a business that eats loners for breakfast, while he sits there thinking he broke the unbreakable Evie Baang. You'd be feeding his ego to the point where he won't be able to walk in and out of normal sized doors."
Not even a smile crosses Evie's lips as Daniel jokes with her.
"I don't need anyone in this world." Evie tells Daniel with a firm tone in her voice.
Daniel waves a finger at Evie and smiles.
"I used to think the same." Daniel says to her. "And then I got in to this business, a business where people would stab you in the back given the chance, where people have short memories. I thought when I was coming up with this plan to be in America and wrestle as a way to stay here, I thought us four could just do what we want. It took me five minutes to work out I was probably in over my head and I did not have an inkling on anything here. I lucked out finding a trainer who gives a fuck about us enough, that the training doesn't stop when you have your first match. I lucked out finding a bunch of people from different backgrounds to make sure I don't have the piss taken out of me, and they get the same from us in return. I lucked out that I got people who will put us on the right path."
"Stop it, you'll make me cry." Evie says dryly, rolling her eyes.
"Look, my point is, you have the same." Daniel tells her. "Going it alone because ya can't stand one person, is just daft. One bad don't out weigh all the good. You don't wanna admit it, or see it, or whatever, but you got a good support network here, not worth throwing it away on a whim."
Daniel stands up and looks at Evie.
"And it's not worth sitting over here on ya own." Daniel tells her.
"I'm fine where I am." Evie tells him.
"Fenris one, Evie nil." Daniel says with a shrug.
Evie looks at Daniel with narrowed eyes.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She asks.
"He's over there having a good night, not letting your presence bother him. So there's no point sitting over here all night." Daniel tells Evie. "You're sitting over here on ya own, he's over there watching his ego grow cause he's winning. Might as well come over there and join us. It ain't gonna kill ya unless you want him to win."
Evie sighs and stands up, picking up her drink, mostly doing as Daniel asked to shut the Englishman up, rather than him getting his own way. She points to the group with an opened hand and moves towards them. Daniel follows as Evie moves around the sofa, sitting next to Mackenzie Page. Daniel moves next to her and sits down. He's eyes move on to Danielle as she looks around the room, Daniel smiles as he looks towards Gabriel.
"Is she casing the joint or something?" He says with a smile.
"I just don't think she's been in a place like this before." Gabriel tells him, returning his smile.
"Hey Daniel." Despayre calls across, causing Daniel to look across the sofa at Despayre. "Last week in the gym, you said you'd tell me the story of how you met..."
Despayre looks towards Fenris and points a thumb at him.
"Happy chops." Despayre says, drawing a look of confusion from Fenris. "That's what you called him, right?"
Fenris looks across at Daniel with his eyebrows lowered.
"It is." Daniel says. "You really wanna know how we met Kristjan?"
Fenris glares at Daniel, as Daniel uses his real name. Daniel meets his stare with a stare of his own.
"See a ring around here son?" Daniel says with a half smile. "In the ring, you might be Fenris, but this ain't a ring."
Daniel fully smiles at Fenris, before looking towards Despayre.
"It was her fault really." Daniel points a thumb towards Charlotte....
