A new Journey

The sound has become addictive and as familiar as the sound of birds chirping outside her window.

The feeling, as tender and calming as a lover’s touch or a parent’s hug.

And the end result?

Something that she could look at and realize was horrid. Her own decisions, her own life, all of these we are going to be part of the story. Things that she could look at and remember specific times in her life. Specific feelings, smells, tastes, touches. The separate feelings that had forged her into the person that she was today. The needle broke her skin, the familiar sting that she had gone through so many times over the last few years. She took in a sharp breath, holding it for a moment as the thin needle moved along the line, she swallowed hard and released the breath as he stopped and moved the cloth along her skin. The excess ink being washed away.

Johanna was in heaven. As close to her idea of heaven right now as she could find. Everything that used to matter in her life, everything that used to make her feel like herself had been revealed to be a lie. A facade of that was moved in front of her eyes for so many years. Years that she now felt she’d wasted.

The last few years has been about discovering herself. Moving away from Europe, coming to the United States. Working as a bodyguard while also using the money that she learned to train and become a professional wrestler. It had been hard work, getting up at 5 am, going for a run, making sure she ate healthy and often. She had gotten herself into amazing shape, physically she was stronger than she had ever been as a police officer.

But something, something was missing.

Johanna had been working hard, hustling and traveling all around the United States and down through Mexico. Even on excursions to Japan and back to Europe but for some reason she had failed to make an impact. She had failed to break through and become the star that she wanted to be.

And now she found herself in Dallas Texas. A hotbed of great independent wrestling. And after being here so many times and enjoying the culture and the fans she decided to honor her visit with a trip to the tattooist. She turned and smiled looking at what was being permanently placed on her skin. With the influences here she got herself a Cinco de Mayo mask.

She let out a relieved breath has he finished up. Slowly rubbing antiseptic cream over it, wrapping it carefully in plastic wrap. She got to her feet, shook his head and gave him a nod. Getting ready to leave. Getting ready to fly back to what had become her homebase in Florida. This trip had been both a success and a curse. Having a match that many people applauded and enjoyed, selling some homemade merch out of the small suitcase that she had brought with her.

She had failed to get any attention from anyone there who had ties to larger organizations. No one who had television deals or streaming licenses.

She was still independent.

She paid for the tattoo, turning and going through the door out onto the street as the heat hit her in the face. Coming from inside the heavily air-conditioned tattoo studio out into the hot Texan summer was obviously going to be a shock. Even more so for a woman who had grown up in Europe. She popped the handle of her bag, walking down the street towards her hotel. Ready to call a cab to go to the airport and go home.

Then she heard it, a voice.

”Johanna? Johanna Krieger?” she turned to see where it was coming from, down the street was Alex Jones. A man who she recognized from seeing him on television, a former world champion, a man who had probably forgotten more about the business than a lot of people knew.

Johanna folded her arms over her chest, curious as to what the Texas native had to say. ”Yes?…”

He jogged over stopping in front of her with a smile. Holding out his hand. She looks down taking it firmly as Alex gave her a warm smile ”Im glad I caught you..” He looked down motioning towards her suitcase.”I saw you work last night. I wanted to say I was impressed. I went to find you after a friends match. But you’d gone…” she swallowed and gave him a small nod. Johanna didn’t usually leave shows before the end.

In fact she usually made it a habit to stay back and talk to everyone. To make connections, to show that she loved this business. ”Oh? Why? I can’t imagine Alex Jones needs to resort to booking people like me for shows?” she used to self depreciating tone, the last few months had weighed heavily upon her. The grind of being a professional or starting to come down upon her shoulders. It held her down, but she was underwater and couldn’t breathe.

Alex gave her a small grin, he had seen that look before and so many people. He knew what it meant, he knew how close she was to just giving up. And he was having none of it. ”Shows? Those will come. But I’ve just started a gym. I’m looking for some of the best to join. I think you’d fit..”

She was shocked, she had no idea what to say for a moment everything flooding out of her head. ”I..yes…but it might take me some time to move to Texas..”

Alex gave her a wry smile, he pulled a business card out from his pocket and handed it to her with a laugh. ”Not Texas…” he turned and moved back down the street throwing his hand up to say goodbye as Johanna looked down at the card. She raised an eyebrow reading it out loud.

”Wolfslair…New York..”

”Ain’t no grave…”

It was pitch black, the cool breeze floated along the grass. The sound of crickets chirping in the distance was the only thing that broke the silence. That is until we heard the sound of a shovel going into the dirt. Over and over again the metal going into the earth, being pulled up on the earth being dumped onto the ground. Then we come across a figure in the darkness. Wearing a leather jacket, jeans, black biker boots. And a long blonde hair tied back.

And then a voice, a German accent cutting through what little silence there is left.

”This grave isn’t for my career. This isn’t even for Violet Amelia Holts career. Even after I warned her and warned you all that I needed to make a statement you didn’t listen. So when I walked into the ring, and I looked into her eyes, I saw defiance. I saw a woman who even though she continuously fails time and time again, didn’t believe that I could beat her. She didn’t believe that I was going to destroy her like I said I was going to. But, when that bell rang and she and I grabbed one another, the first time I hit her during that match the look in her eyes changed.”

“The realisation hit her. It smacked her in the face as hard as my fist did, she looked at me and in that moment she knew she fucked up. She knew that getting in that bring with me was going to end any chance she had of being able to call herself a winner. I turned up that night to remind the world what Johanna Krieger can do.”

“And truth be told, I burned that memory into Violets brain.”

“And that win has given me something unexpected. I have been included in a match for the Sun city wrestling Roukette championship. My old friend. The first singles championship that I was able to get my hands on. But, that match is not only against the champion, it is against three other challenges. Not just that but it is a graveyard match. I suppose that you know why I’m standing here right?”

“No one has ever accused me of being subtle.”

She pauses for a moment, looking around for the dim light of the two floodlights that sit on either side of her she leans on the end of the shovel digging into the ground.

”However, it seems as if not even the company believes that a new champion is going to be crowned. See, at high stakes Krystal Wolfe is scheduled to defend the roulette championship against Char Kwan. Now, first off I don’t appreciate the fact they are advertising a match that may not happen during a championship opportunity that I have. And second? Really?”

“Char Kwan?”

“The four women challenging for the roulette championship in this match are all more qualified to get a one-on-one opportunity at the biggest show of the year than her. I know that people are not used to hearing me say positive things about opponents, let alone people who I’m actually going to be getting in the ring with. But I believe that this is a special circumstance.”

“Bella Madison, week in and week out she gets into that ring and she puts her heart and soul on the line. She will take a punch to the face and keep on moving forward because that’s what people who have love for this business do. She doesn’t have the best win loss record, but she always gets into that room and tries her hardest and that has to count for something.”

Johanna shrugs.

”I have seen her get into the ring with opponents who many people say she didn’t even stand a chance against and take them to their limit and in some cases beat them. Not just here but in other companies. Trust me when I say this Bella Madison is not a joke. Bella Madison deserves this championship opportunity more than Char Kawn…”

“Just like I do and just like Seleana Zdunich does. See, she is someone who my fellow Wolfslair stablemate has constantly given respect to. Recently that may have been altered a little, but the fact remains she is a former world champion, she has held other championships in this company and to be honest with you she is always someone who put her best foot forward.”

“Seleana Zdunich is a fucking warrior.”

“Both of those women will go into this match and they will do everything in their power to walk away as the Roulette champion. That is what you want in your challengers, you want people who will push you to be better and be a better champion. I will do that, Bella will do that, Seleana will do that and Bea Barnhart..”

“…exists”

Johanna lets go of the shovel and simply shrugs.

”Yes, this is the part where you all see the usual personality that I grace you with. Bea is a joke. But not a funny joke. Not one that you get told and give an amazing belly laugh to that makes you feel good and releases endorphins. No, she and her fat husband are the kind of jokes that get told by that member of your family that you go out of your way to avoid. The member of your family that only turn up to family reunions because any other time they simply are not invited.”

“Bea doesn’t deserve this. She won those tagteam championships with her husband, and did nothing with them. Thank God that Austin and Tempest won them and have been able to limit the amount of damage those two did to them. And now you all want to give her an opportunity to do that same damage to the roulette championship? Are you completely insane?”

“I held that championship and tried to be the best champion I could. Bella and Seleana, I believe would do the same.”

“But, One person who took that challenge, who decided that she wanted to be the best champion that the roulette title had ever seen is the current champion. Krystal Wolfe.”

She takes a long deep breath, holding her arms over her chest looking directly into the camera.

”What can I say? She has proved everyone wrong. When she first became the champion I was one of her biggest critics. I was a detractor, I told the world that Krystal was not worthy of being the roulette champion. I told the world that she was going to lose that championship and she was just going to make it look horrible. That she was going to take everything that every other champion had done before her and she was going to flush it down the toilet.”

“I was wrong.”

“Krystal has taken that championship and defended it against anyone who came in at her. She has proudly worn it into battle and she has made it a prize worth holding. She should be proud of the championship reign she has had and proud of what she has been able to accomplish. But all championship reigns come to an end.”

“And Krystal is facing huge odds.”

She looks around, various tombstones, headstones and plaques.

”Five women, one graveyard and one championship. We will beat the hell out of each other and whoever emerges victorious gets to call herself a champion. I will do everything in my power to walk away as a three time roullette champion. I will do everything I can to beat the dominant champion and to make sure none of the other challengers out work me. Because that’s what I do. Rest In Peace..”

Johanna laughs to herself and bends down picking up the shovel moving away as we pull out to reveal an open grave marking Krystal Wolfes title reign.

Finale

She didn’t want to do this. Sneak around, spy, it felt dishonest. It felt wrong. But is this something that she needed to do. After everything that has happened, being pushed to watch everything and record everything, being forced to spy on her father, her partner and boyfriend, this is what her life had become. She had done it for so many other reasons but now it was the one simple one. She needed to do it for herself.

Johanna moved along the street, past the familiar bars and clothing shops, past restaurants and cafes. This was her home it was a place that she had always loved and felt safe. Getting into the police force was never just about a family lineage, it was about protecting this place. It was about protecting the people that she had growing up with, the shopkeepers that had always been kind to her when she was a child, the barristers who had learnt how to make her favourite coffee. And as she got older the bar owners who would talk her ear off as she sat there and enjoy the cold beer.

This was her home. And she wanted to make it as safe as possible.

However, the cancer that had buried its way side the city had grown, no amount of medicine could make it shrink, no amount of hard work could kill it and cut it out. It had broken her heart, every night she went to sleep feeling it weighing down on her shoulders and chest. And it was there every morning when she woke up.

Johanna Krieger was a good person.

And she was getting punished for it.

She knew where Frederick was going, he was going to go and see her father. But she didn’t understand why. She had heard him on the phone, describing where to meet and why. Grout in the manila envelope containing the photographs and filed before he left. He thought she was asleep, after a long night she had crashed. But Johanna was a light sleeper. And she followed. Almost as if she had taken the words her father told her when all of this started to heart.

Don’t.Trust. Anyone.

She turned and stopped outside, shaking her head knowing exactly where this was. It was the bar that they hadn’t met him for. We have father threatened him, told him that he needed to get Johanna off the case. It seems that they weren’t very original in their meeting places or what they decided to do. We humans are a creature of habit. And this showed it.

She moved in through the front door, sliding across to the side and moving towards the booth at the back wish you could see them. The hood on her black jacket pulled up over her head she turned and sat at the bar next to them. ”Whiskey, double, no ice” The bartender obliged, put in the small crystal glass in front of her. She turned moving her ear towards her father and Frederick.

”So that’s it then. We use it to get them out of the way. You retire, they go on to run their guns and do their business. I look the other way?” she swallowed, placing her hands on the ball to stop herself from turning around right now. She needed more, she needed exactly what they were doing. ”And Johanna?” at least it seems like you cared.

Her father stopped for a moment, opening his mouth is it to speed but instead taking a little time to get over. Took a sharp breath and move his hands over in front of his place and then on the table. ”Take her with you. She loves you. You love her. Walk away. Transfer. Get her to leave the force. Anything.” her heart burn, pumped blood through her body, it felt like lava moving through her veins. She growled reaching out and grabbing a glass taking the double whiskey down. It didn’t even burn, it didn’t cause her to flinch. That was how angry Johanna was.

She was hoping and praying Frederick would tell her father know. Hoping that he would get up from the table and take the file with him, that they would go about their business and bring everything crashing down around the corrupt and the criminal.

But, that is definitely not what happened.

”I’ll do all I can…:I want to ma-“ decide to put up his hand shaking his head. He didn’t want to hear what Frederick had to say. He took a deep breath and sleep the envelope towards the father, his hand reaching out to snatch it as fast as he could. That was it she had had enough. Her hands raising and slamming down against the bar she turned around flipping the hood back from her face.

Frederick and her father both startled as they looked over at her. Fredricks jaw dropping open, her father keeping his emotions in check. ”This is what we’ve come to? Sneaking? Quitting?” She pushes the words through the teeth, gritting them together while holding her jaw shut.

Her father just stayed quiet. His hand on the file. Frederick moved and slid to his feet. Straight out from the booth right in front of Johanna ”This Is our way out Jo. Our way for a future. A life.” his eyes lit up, as if he actually believed it. ”I love you.”

Johanna swallowed. It dropped straight to her stomach. She closed her eyes and shook her head pulling her hands away as he reached out for her. ”Im done. I’m done with you, I’m done with you….I’m done with all of this. Do whatever the fuck you want.” she turned and moved out of the car. Stomping her feet along the wooden floor as she moved out back to the street. She thought one of them would follow her, one of the more care. But no one dead. She could feel the tears welling up in her eyes and that is when she knew she had to leave.

The Failed Wolf

”Being a failure is a new feeling to me. And it is one that I do not like. It’s one that is very slowly eating me alive from the inside out.”

Johanna shakes her head and fold her arms over her chest. There is sadness in her eyes and pain in her body language. Even her voice seems to be softer and not as aggressive as it normally is.

”I know what you are all thinking. How exactly can I be a failure? To roulette championship reigns and one mixed tag team championship run with the current world champion as my partner. Wins over some of the best in this company and former world champions. A year and a half of terrorising the women’s division. So, I can understand why many of you would ask how I could be a failure and why I feel this way. But let me explain something to all of you. Something that some of you will never understand because you do not live in the same world with the same rules and expectations.”

“In Wolfslair, we breed world champions. Alex is the current world champion, Austin is a former world champion, Alicia is a three time world champion. And while other members of the gym haven’t been so lucky, like Miles, I am part of the group. I am part of the original for who came into sin city wrestling and have laid waste to its divisions.”

“I started off slow. Teaming with Alex while we destroyed every team put in front of us. Then I broke out on my own and won the roulette championship twice but while I was able to win that championship I never really made my own. You see some people might be content with just winning championships but in Wolfslair we have a motto. Leave a championship better than you found it. It means that you win a championship and you have to be better than the person you want it off. Sometimes, that is easy. Other times? Not so much.”

“But, it is something that we believe in. And I’m not sure I was able to accomplish that with the roulette championship. And since then, all this year, I have been up and down. Winning and losing like I’m on a rollercoaster. And while losses do happen this is simply unacceptable for me.”

She closes her eyes, a moment of reflection and honesty with herself making her heart hurt. This is all she has ever wanted, she just didn’t know it when she was younger.

”It is difficult. Being a part of something great. And it is amazing to me how many people in this company have tried to drag our group and the gym down all out of jealousy. I train with former and current world champions every single day. I watch them reach down to the younger talents and pull them up to that level. I watch as experience to talents have been in this business for much longer than I have reignite their love and passion for professional wrestling through the gym.”

“And I watch people get better I should’ve always realise their potential. Like Sierra Williams who was a failure in sin city wrestling after she and her husband stop teaming together become a world champion.“

“It makes me wonder. Should I leave this company and go somewhere else to try and reignite my passion and become a champion somewhere else? Am I not cut out to be a star in this company?”

“I might have to.”

“Not today though. Not now. Because unfortunately I do have unfinished business here. And I am not a quitter. I am not someone who simply walk away because things get hard and because I face hardship. I am still one of the best talents this company has and I should still be feared but instead of being feared and respected all I get is ridiculous comments and stupidity. Mercedes virus should not have beaten me. I should be the Internet champion right now making that championship mean something but instead I am being forced to sit around and wait for the scraps at this company decides to give me.”

The bass and anger in her voice returns. Her German accent becoming even stronger as she seems to get angrier and angrier and her blood starts to boil. This is the Johanna Krieger that we know.

”And this week’s scrap from the table? Violet Amelia Holt. A name that many people no one have seen in this company for a long time now. But her name that seems to just keep failing and failing and for you everything she does. It’s good for me to at least be able to turn around and know that I am facing someone who has been a big failure than I have through the entire career in this company. Someone that unlike me cannot turn around and have a look at her failures and shortcomings and try and push past them and make herself something greater.”

“Someone who has had one small bright spark on her record when she was also the roulette champion. It’s just too bad that she has never been able to capitalise on it and actually make herself anything more than a trivia question. He small name on a list that most people throw out there when they want to show how dominating they can be.”

“And as I said. She never learns.”

“You were a part of that triple threat match for the roulette championship with Royal purple and Krystal Wolfe. The match that kicked off Krystals incredible title reign.”

She pauses and shakes her head sliding her hands into the front pockets of her tight fitting black jeans.

”You made all of these promises about winning that championship. That you were going to take it and it was going to mean something. But where did that go? Tell me violet where did it go and what has happened? Because right after that, right after you lost instead of stepping back and looking at yourself and your failures and trying to overcome them all you did is run your mouth.”

“You wanted to face candy and after you failed you disappeared. He decided to go on, what was it? A self-imposed vacation? Only to return and spout off the same bullshit you do every single week that you actually have to show up to work. Your ego starts your mouth moving and you can’t stop.”

“Bella beat you, but, I don’t think we are going to hear anything about that are we? Last time you and I faced each other and instead of examining why you lost against me you are just going to mention it and then brush it under the rug like it means nothing.”

“You have not won a singles match in over a year and I’m sure you are sitting there wondering why? It is because of actions like that violet. Because those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it and that is exactly what is going to happen at climax control. History is going to repeat itself, lightning is going to strike twice, and Johanna Krieger is going to destroy violet Amelio halt. I will learn from everything, I will learn from this win as much as I would a loss. And maybe, you’ll take yourself into permanent vacation.”

The Photo

The file burned in her hand. A manilla envelope, filled with a photograph designed to scare and intimidate, that could also lead to salvation and burial. Johanna shook her head and sighed heavily as she sat in the driver's seat of her car. She’d been there for what seemed like hours. In reality it had only been about twenty minutes. But that time moved slow. Seconds ticked, minutes moved at a snails pace and in the end Johanna had to force herself out of the car, the door shutting behind her as a gust of cold wind hit her right in the face. Her eyes moving up from the pavement and towards the house. Following the winding path to the door.

She moved towards it and sighed heavily before turning the knob and walking inside, the smell of cooking food hit her immediately along with the heat from the fireplace. She gave a small smile before breathing in deeply and stepping into the kitchen.

Gustav smiled and gave her a wink as he finished adding salt into his sauce, tasting it for seasoning. He hummed to himself muttering under his breath adding a little more salt and tasting it further with a smile. Johanna shook her head and leaned against the wall. Gustav moved over to her wiping his hands on a tea towel. He leaned over giving her a kiss on the cheek and a wink. Johanna smiled back, weakly. He raised an eyebrow and shook his head.

”What is it?” He knew something was wrong, or on her mind. That’s what happens after a while, you learn to read people. It’s a skill that many officers and investigators know and have. And Gustav was very good at his job.

Johanna swallowed hard and moved over to the kitchen bench, she opened the envelope pulling out the picture, her thumb moving over it, down Gustav and across his daughters face. She was innocent in all this, a victim of the corruption from within and her fathers willingness to fight it. But, Johannas father was in too deep, and he was going to be found out. She inhaled sharply and turned holding the photo up, Gustavs smile faded, his eyes went down and to the side.

Johanna tried to stay stone faced, unsure of what to do. But this, well, this would end it. ”So, that’s a message? To step away? Threatening my kid? It’s...effective no?”

She felt horrible, her heart sinking down into her stomach before offering a meek reply. ”I’m sorry Gustav...I-” He put his hand up and turned away with a deep breath shaking his head as he looked down at the bench, the food and everything in front of him.

His hands gripped the corners, he straightened his back and stayed facing away from her. ”I understand Jo, he’s your father. It’s only right you want to protect him.”

She shook his head moving forward, her hand grabbing his arm lightly to turn him around. ”That isn’t it at all. I’m, I’m doing this for you.” He narrowed his eyes, furrowed his brow and stepped away from her. ”This has gone to far Gustav. It’s time to end it, this is your way out, a way to justify walking away.” Gustav shook his head again and ground his teeth together. Johanna swallowed and sighed heavily. She knew he wouldn’t see it that way. At all.

”Walk away? Let them continue to manipulate, threaten and profit off of a job that is meant to protect people. Benefit society? That’s what I should do?” His voice started off powerful, but ended as it faded to a whisper. His hands moved up to his head running through his wavy brown hair.

Johanna reached up bringing his hands down into hers. ”I’ll leave too. We can just go, find something else to do, go anywhere, do anything. I’ll stay with you.” Her eyes welled with tears. She didn’t realise how tired she was, how much she wanted this to be done. The investigations, the late nights, finding out things about her father and other officers she once respected. It had broken her.

”You could do that? Just drop it all? Walk away? Knowing what they’ve done and quill continue to do Jo?” She closed her eyes and turned she knew what he was about to say. ”I can’t do that Jo, no matter how much I want to. I need to get my daughter away…..” Tears rolled down Johannas cheek, she looked down at the photograph, the file behind it. She needed to take this back to her father. With Gustavs answer. But she stopped mid step, her hand shaking like a leaf. She turned and held the photo out to him, he looked down at it, reaching out to take it. ”Jo…..you know what this means...your father”

”I know what it means for you...and us…” She paused a moment and looked up at him. ”This will never be over. My father made his choice and now...so have you.”

”I’m sorry Jo….if there was another way I-”

”There was, I gave it to you. But, I get it. Believe me I do.” She put her hands on her hips and gave him a small smirk and a nod. ”I’m still behind you….I promise.” He smiled back, stepping forward to pull UJohanna into a kiss, she put her hand on his chest and laughed, maybe this was for the best. ”Gustav.”

”Hmm?”

”The sauce is burning”

It’s better to burn out, than to fade away

”Facing legends…”

Her german accent shines through, not as heavy as many people think it would be. Her black painted lips twisting into a grin as Johanna shakes her head.

”It’s something I have made a point of since stepping foot in this company. Sam Marlowe, legend of the Rolette division, Keira and Roxi, legends in their own ways, and even my opponent this week, Mercedes Vargas. And they have all fallen to me at different times. In fact there was a time last year where it looked like I should have been the next big thing in SCW and the bombshells division. That I, not Alicia Lukas was going to be the lead female from Wolfslair. But, lately it seems as if I have stumbled and fallen. This year has not been kind to me and now after a draw with Sam I find myself at a crossroads. An impasse of confidence. And, I could do what so many others have done and simply quit, become complacent with my place in the world and just be happy to collect a paycheck and a take a spot in the division.”

“A position that many feel all too happy to take. And I don’t even need to say their names for you to know who I mean. But that has never been my attitude, it has never been an option for me.”

“The cold hard truth is, that if the time comes where I look in the mirror and believe I cannot come back, that I cannot redeem myself or improve, then I will pack my shit and head for the door. If there is no way forward then why stay? Why continue to fail when you don’t even have hope of making a return or living up to that potential? Luckily I am far, far from that yet. See I may have lost a few matches this year but each one of them was a match I was in, I haven’t been destroyed, I have always been competitive. And that tells me that I can come back, and get back on the path I started walking when I first came into this company at the end of 2019.”

“Hard to believe I’ve been here a year and a half…”

She scoffs and sneers, turning her upper lip and fluttering her bright blue eyes.

”Twenty months, three title reigns. Wins over some of the best in this company. Truth is I should have become Internet or Bombshells champion by now, I should have become a huge star, the face of the company or at the very least the bombshells division. I obviously have the talent and potential to do it. But for whatever reason I have just not been able to break through. And, honestly I have no one to blame nut myself. It was my fault I was unable to win those matches, to continue climbing the ladder, to get noticed and earn a bombshells title shot or to capitalize and beat Myra for the Internet when she was in the middle of her reign of terror…”

“It was on me, no one else. I have never and will never be one to put the blame on others and ignore my own failures and shortcomings. If you do that, then how will you ever learn? If you can’t look inside and admit to yourself when things are going wrong and be willing to change, then you will keep spiraling down.”

“Now.”

“That is my story, my moments and my admission of self reflection and doubt. So why oh why have I mentioned all of this when I am about to face Mercedes Vargas in a one on one match? Well, simple. Mercedes Vargas is someone who is far more guilty of the sins I have just mentioned than I am. The sin or arrogance and the sin of pride, all wrapped into one package.”

Johanna holds up a finger and shakes her head with a deep sigh.

”Mercedes Vargas is a name in SCW. A big one. A name that still carries weight and respect in some circles. A long and distinguished career in not just this company but many others. From IWF to LAW to WWH to here. Mercedes is someone who has thrown down with the best, beaten many of them and has been a world champion. But that record and that respect has its limits. And this is something you have struggled with Mercedes. See, you believe your place in the history books and your spot on the top of the mountain is secure. That nothing you do now, in the future or over the past few years can tarnish that or remove you from there…”

“That isn’t how the world works.”

“And yes, I can almost see your eyes rolling Mercedes.”

“Not another person commenting on your abysmal win loss record. Not another person pointing out how you haven’t been a champion in a long time and haven’t been in any position to become one. Not another person commenting on your age and your diminishing skill set that was once impressive and now, by comparison to others, seems pedestrian and painfully outdated. And I understand that side of it to. Everyone seems to say the same things to you. But how about instead of simply dismissing it, instead of rolling your eyes like the arrogant self righteous bitch you are, and proudly wear as a badge...you listen…”

Johanna pauses and laughs under her breath.

”I just got done telling you how I own my losses, my mistakes, I don’t just bury them or blame others, I own them and realise I need to change, resurrect myself or step aside. And the issue with you Mercedes, is your ego won’t allow you to do either..”

Johanna shrugs and then folds her arms over her chest.

”You have been doing the same old song and dance for so long that you can’t change. You can’t stop. It’s the repeated thing with you like a punk band that recycles the same three chord progression in each song. You are so set in your ways you won’t change and that is honestly doing you more harm than good. I mean, I could stand here, despite all my losses this year and my average performances and promise that I’m going to destroy you, but that would hold no weight...much like your same old song and dance. And, you also won’t just stop and leave. And that is for an even sadder reason. You have nothing else.”

“What are you without wrestling Mercedes? What are you without a ring to stand in? Nothing. You won’t change, you won’t evolve and you won’t walk away. You refuse to look inside and see your problems and issues….but me?...I refuse to become like you, I refuse to be that blind, that ignorant and that delusional...so I will see you in the ring Mercedes...I will call my shot, go further in this tournament for the Internet championship…...may the best woman win…”

A New Thread.

And now for something completely different - John Cleese

We take a break from the usual story, the ongoing saga of how and why Johanna Krieger left her job of being a police officer, the love entanglement, the betrayal of her father. For something a little more light hearted and wholesome.

A hard day at the gym had ended. Everyone at Wolfslair New York had been training with their usual intensity with some joking and fun mixed in. The usual family atmosphere. Johanna laughed and joked with Kallie and Alicia, she talked with Austin and Alex, completely ignored Aiden Reynolds except to throw an empty water bottle at his head from across the room. It was standard fare for the New York based gym, something she assumed happened at the sister gym in Orlando Florida being run by Charlie.

She missed her.

Charlie Jones had always had her back, she was a great trainer, a good friend and someone that helped Kallie and Johanna out immensely since they had joined. But with her gone Kallie and Johanna still had each other and had tried gravitating more towards Alicia, but Alicia Lukas wasn’t the same as Charlie and the stress had got to them all even with the jokes and fun, there was something simmering beneath the surface. But Kallie had an idea, a way for her and Johanna to unwind.

It involved pizza, a few drinks and relaxing

”But Jo, you need to unwind, relax, get ready for your match coming up” Johanna grumbled and folded her arms over her chest, she sunk back into Kallie’s couch, an item catching her eye, she turned slightly, it was one of Aidens shirts, Johanna rolled her eyes and shuffled uncomfortably. ”It’s not everyday you get to be in a POWERPUFF death match”

Johanna blinks a few times and makes a face. ”It’s a Powde-”

Kallie grabs her remote, turning her TV on the starting up a show before Johanna can correct her. The familiar theme of popular late 90’s to early 2000’s cartoon network show The Powerpuff girls plays. Kallie bounces and smiles getting excited as Johanna raises an eyebrow. Kallie repeating the opening words. ”Sugar! Spice! And everything nice!...” Johanna again makes a face taking a slice of pizza as they watch the show. Very slowly Johannas expression changes, her nostrils flare and as the first episode ends Jo lets out a gruff sound. ”Whhhaaat?” Kallie answers the sound with a whiny but adorable question.

”The villain...the monkey”

”Yes?”

Johanna crosses her arms over her chest. ”His name..is Mojo Jojo

Kallie blinks a few times and clears her throat. ”Oh...yes...no I never named you after him...but it find of fits.” Johanna sits back and raises her eyebrows, Kallie’s eyes dart from side to side before smiling awkwardly ”I mean I could call you buttercup?”

Johanna narrows her eyes. ”Is that the redhead?...the leader?”

Kallie shakes her head with a smile ”No no, the brunette the bi-....” She pauses a moment and rethinks her words. ”The strong willed one…I’d be closer to blossom because I’m level headed.

”And Aiden can be the other one...the dumb one”

Kallie goes to open her mouth and say something but stops and instead gets a slice of pizza grabbing her phone, she looks up the event card for Sin City Wrestling with a smirk. ”Oh it’s not powerpuff, it’s POWDERpuff. What the hell is that?!? I don’t know what that is.”

Johanna just blinks a few times and deadpans her before grabbing a beer chugging it down and sighing. ”But you knew what a powerpuff deathmatch was?”

Kallie sputters and shakes her head. ”I!-no...but still. What is this?”

Johanna shrugs and finishes her beer before sitting forward. ”I don’t know, the powderpuff part confuses me. But I know what a death match is.” She chuckles and shakes her head, her hand gripping her arm as she runs her thumb across a few of the scars that are now faded but sit across some of her tattoos. ”I have a few reminders of that world. I’m no stranger to it Kalisto” Kallie scrunches her nose up hearing her full name as Johanna smirks knowing it makes her uncomfortable.

”Well, I guess watching the show was a bust then…” Kallie sighs and picks up the remote. ”Let’s find something else.”

”No no…..we can watch it...just don’t draw attention to it. And this stays between us..” Kallie smiles and sits back pressing play as they both repeat the opener in unison….

I’ll put the DEATH in DEATHMATCH

”Did you miss me?”

Her black painted lips twist into a smirk. The usual arrogance is still there, the violent swagger of Johanna Krieger.

”Sin City Wrestling is back on the road and I finally have a another match. I finally have a moment to shine. And I understand, I do. This company has alot of talent and only a select amount of spots each week to showcase it. And having every single member of Wolfslair in a match would not be good for the competition. See, this gym, and group, we breed excellence. The only reason Miles Casey has not won gold in this company is because he would have had to beat Alex or Austin who are also members of Wolfslair….you put Milo up for that internet title, watch him snatch it up….as a group, as an idea, Wolfslair has become a movement...and it’s one none of you can stop. Not here, not in Apex, not in any other company we’re in.”

“But, even if you don’t look at what we’ve accomplished as a group. The mixed tag titles, the singles championships, the ones in other companies. If you just stop and look at my accomplishments. I can’t help but feel I am underrated by so many of you.”

“Despite the fact I am a two time Roulette Champion, despite the fact I am a former Mixed tag team champion with Alex. And the fact I have beaten a list of former SCW Bombshells champions. A fact people seem to forget whenever they see my name on the card and treat me like i’m Bea Barnhart or Amelia Holt. Or worse...like I’m Sam Marlowe..”

Johanna pauses for a moment and sneers before clearing her throat and continuing.

”The last time any of you saw me, I was being my usual dominant self. Beating the hell out of Keira Fisher-Johnson like the failure she is. In fact people already shove that aside. Climax Control 302, I stepped in the ring with another former world champion and put her to the sword. I ended Keira Fisher Johnson, but was anything said? Did I get an opportunity at anything? No, instead I see Christian Underwood, one of our esteemed “leaders” in management tweeting out names like Sierra Williams for the Internet title match while I get nothing. Nothing except a Powderpuff deathmatch against YOU Samantha.”

You can hear the anger and frustration in her voice mixed with her German accent. Her bright blue eyes shining from behind some of her long blond hair.

”And I’m supposed to be happy about this? A random throwaway match against someone who hasn’t been relevant to this company in years? One booked by that bumbling bubble brained candy coated airhead? That is what I have been reduced to? A sideshow attraction against a hasbeen whose last win was against Lucy Seraphina? Who has spent the last few months getting eliminated from battle royals of being Andrea Hernandez’ bitch?.”

“That’s what I need to get excited for Sam?”

“I watched you fail over and over again, I’ve watched you piss away whatever good will you have had with the SCW audience over and over again. And it’s not because you haven’t been great in the past. In fact I can admit that you have been one of the best. Your name, as I have said before was synonymous with the Roulette title. That was never meant as an insult, it was never supposed to be a bad thing, cause lets face it, your name could be like Jessie Salcos, synonymous with failure.”

“But, you never quite reached the same heights as your contemporaries did you? You never got to the same level as Mikah, Mercedes Vargas, Roxi Johnson or even Crystal Zdunich. The Bombshells from back in the day who always seemed that step above you. They always had your number and even though you’d get a big win here or there, at the end of the day they are world champion calibre athletes and you’re not.”

“That isn’t a knock on you Marlowe. In fact a few years ago this would have been an amazing match for me to have.”

“But, I have surpassed you. I have surpassed many people in this company and as you move through the later stages of your career all I can do is ask you why? Why do this to yourself? Why continue down this path and letting yourself down? It’s sad. And unnecessary. You don’t need to put yourself through this Samantha. You don’t need to drag yourself down to the ring, get in there with someone younger and hungrier who will humiliate you. Or someone who you once thought of as a rival who still has something to offer in this world.”

Johanna steps back and shakes her head, almost looking sad.

”I don’t know what this match will hold for us. But what I do know is that no matter what it is I’ll be dangerous in it. I was dangerous before I joined Wolfslair, I was dangerous when I was just learning and coming into my own. But now? Since coming to SCW I have been one of the best of the best. I have beaten legends and champions, and I have sat back and been happy with that, atleast I was Sam, I was happy until I realised that every single one of you has a short memory and that you seem to not retain knowledge or you’re just ignorant. So you will step in that ring with me, you’ll give your usual excuses, you’ll take this ass whooping and after all is said and done and the smoke clears I will go on to bigger and better things…”

“While you continue being irrelevant...and a joke…”

The wire

Have you ever had to do something that went against your moral code? Yet it really was for the good of everyone and everything? Could you look past the personal cost and possible pain associated with the actions? Johanna had been in hell for the last week. A moral question hanging over her head, she had barely slept, her heart stayed down in the pit of her stomach. She paced back and forth looking at her phone over and over again to check the time. Gustav and some of the others said to meet them here.

What she was about to do felt wrong. It was going to help Gustav and herself, it was going to help the investigation but at the same time, this could ruin her father, her families legacy, her family as a whole. All of it could come crashing down. But what else was at stake? Gustavs life, reputation and his daughter. And what's worse, she loved him. She had realised it when she heard his predicament. Her first instinct wasn’t anger, it wasn’t to lash out or even defend her father. It was concern. Concern for him, his daughter and his life. She put him and his feelings over her own, and her fathers.

It was a spark and a lightbulb in her mind knowing how she felt and why.

But was it leading her to do the wrong thing for the right reasons? Or the right thing for the wrong reasons? She didn’t know, and thats what hurt and frustrated her. For years she had always been so sure of everything she had done and everything she wanted to do. But this was different.

She paced back and forth, dressed in black jeans, converse and a black hoodie with the hood pulled up over her head. She waited in the cold, each minute feeling like ten as time slowly went by. She sighed heavily and looked up as she saw lights, a van, it drove slowly down the side ally and came to a stop, Johanna moved down and behind a wall, waiting to see who it was. But, in the front seat she saw him. Gustav. He gave her a small nod and Johanna moved from the alleyway, the door opened and she got in the back to find two young rookies. She was startled as she looked at Gustav with a furrowed brow.

”Why are they here?” She didn’t mean to sound cold or arrogant. But she was just surprised, out of everyone in the office, everyone they worked with, it was two young kids he chose.

Gustav sighed and shook his head driving up and around the corner coming to a stop. ”We needed help with the equipment, and they are too new to have been corrupted.” Johanna sighed heavily and shook her head again. She pulled her hoodie off and lifted her shift letting them tape a wire to her, moving the microphone near her tattoos and pulling the cable down to the battery pack strapped to her lower back. She pulled her shirt down and she sat sadly in the back.”You know what you need to do Jo?”

She groaned and snarled ”I know, doesn’t mean I’m happy about it. She folded her arms over her chest.

”I understand. I’m also very grateful that you’re doing this.” Johanna nodded slowly and gave him a small smile. She understood, she did. But right now she didn’t feel it. They came to a stop outside Johannas parents next door neighbours. ”We’ll be listening….thanks Jo.” The door opened, she smiled weakly and slide out to the sidewalk looking over to her parents home.

She moved around closer. Stopping in front of her parents' front door knocking. It opened and Johannas father raised an eyebrow ”Jo? What are you doing here?”

She stepped in and put her hands in her pockets leaning back against a wall and smiling. ”I just needed to see you Dad.” He shook his head and turned into the living room sitting down. Johanna walked in and smiled putting on a mask. ”How have you been?. He shrugged and started writing down information in a book.

”Well, now I’m back at work it’s stressful.” He sighed and closed the book getting to his feet.

Her heart beat faster, she turned and sat down across from him. ”I could help you with that.” Her father tilted his head. ”You asked me, if I could help. I may have information on Gustav.” His eyes lit up, he leaned back and folded his arms over his chest. ”You still need it?...cause if you don’t...forget I said anything.”

She went to stand up, her father put his hands out. ”Wait...I….I meant it when I asked you for help….Gustav needs to be silenced Jo….” She swallowed hard and sat down. He clasped his hands together. ”I know you have never felt good about this. But, it really is for the good of the force and area Jo. And Gustav is fucking that all up. He needs to be stopped….I have already started with him..”

He slid a piece of paper towards Johanna, she picked it up, a surveillance photo of Gustav and his daughter, a file watermark, her fathers officer number. This was the evidence she needed. She swallowed and put it back down, she needed to take it but had to stay calm. ”What do you need from me?”

”I need you to deliver this photo to him...remind him of what we can accomplish if he would back off…” She bit her lip and nodded. He hand moving over to it sliding it towards her. ”Just show him...then bring it back to me.” Johanna gave him a nod and got to her feet turning to the door. She had what she needed, but could she give it to him?

Such a waste

Johanna opened her eyes, a smile coming across her face as she moved back and forth, excited about her match, her future and actually being booked.

”I’m back bitches.”

It was a simple statement. The smile still on her face as she paced back and forth and her hands in a triangle.

”Did you miss me?. It’s been a while. The last time any of you saw me I had a one on one match with Myra Rivers for the Internet title. I failed. This happens. In life and wrestling sometimes you take a loss and you need to learn from it. I didn’t want to take time off, I didn’t even need to. But the fact is the company decided it needed to happen. I needed to take some time off. So, I did. And the last month I have trained, I have been calm, I have rebuilt. And I can admit, Myra was the better woman that night. She did everything she could and came out victorious. She should be celebrated for that.”

“Celebrated for her accomplishments and accolades. She had been an incredible champion and I wish I could have been good enough to unseat her. I feel like I would have been a great champion and could have kept the standard set.”

“But, now I’m back and SCW seem to be ready to let me fly. To let me grow. Cause right now, I feel like I’ve been handcuffed.”

“All of my past victories. The roulette wins, the mixed tag title ones and me facing and beating former Bombshells champions seem to be forgotten. All of it. And instead I’m looked at as just a name on a list. Just shuffled in with people like Courtney Pierce, Jesse Salco and others. Instead of me being allowed to shine. But that has changed. With this coming Climax Control. I’m back and I’m ready to show you the Johanna Krieger you all deserve and that I deserve. And I get to do it against another former Bombshells champion. Keira Fischer Johnson.”

Johanna smiles, her teeth almost resemble fangs as they shine out from their black lipstick frame.

”What can I say about Keira? The feelgood fairytale story of 2020. In a year that was horrible for most she got to have a bright shiny end to it. She finally got to become the SCW Bombshells champion. Beating my fellow Wolfslair member and three time champion Alicia Lukas. And as that show came to an end and she had her tearful moment in the sun the question was asked, just how high could this new Keira go? How long would her reign be and how many challengers could she put down?”

“Well, the answer was disappointing wasn’t it Keira? In fact the only reason your title reign was that long is because of the break SCW has around the holiday season. All that talk, all that bluster and all that confidence, flushed down the toilet because you couldn’t keep it up.”

“I have been locked in the Chaos of the roulette division, losing a match to a joke in a mask, but you Keira. You lost the Bombshells title to a woman who had fallen even further than you. And when you were presented with an opportunity to make it right, when you had a chance to be in a match to literally insert yourself back into that title picture, well, you turned it down. The queen for a day match was a huge opportunity, one I didn’t even get a look in for, and you turned it down and walked away. Because you’re a quitter Keira. You’re a quitter and you don’t deserve to be looked at as one of the best.”

“You deserve to have your head kicked in.”

She snarls, clearly in anger.

”Women like you set the women's side of professional wrestling back years with your actions or attitude. Not that you aren’t horrible in the ring Keira, because you’re not, you’re, average. And you have been able to rise up above your station, congratulations. But, the focus is never really on your professional wrestling career is it? The problem I have with you is that soon, in a few months, the fact you were a bombshells champion will be forgotten. It will fade away into someone's memory and it will be one of those strange facts people randomly bring up and are met with slow wondering stares before people whip out their smart phones and goggle it.”

“See what most people know you for is your relationship. And I get it, it’s a common complaint and you’ll no doubt roll your eyes and flutter it away with the tired old “So unoriginal” tag. But here’s the problem Keira. You, and your bonehead wife, do not do anything to change it. A look at your promos, segments and social media show us all we need to know.”

“Oh look they’re a same sex couple with a child and they love each other so much but flirt with literally everyone else aren’t they so cute? Oh hey look thot pics and pictures of them together at varying ages despite the fact they haven’t been together for as long as people think….”

“Oh they also wrestle...occasionally…”

“What do people know about me Keira? What do people see when they look at me? They see a woman who has friends in the wrestling business. They have no idea about my personal life, but they know I wrestle for SCW, I’m a member of Wolfslair, I am a two time roulette champion and a mixed tag team champion. They know I’m a wrestler, and one look in the past shows I have beaten your wife one on one, I have beaten other former bombshells champions and I am the future of SCW. That’s what they know, thats what they feel. It has never been about my personal life, it’s about my wrestling life. And the saddest part is, I get why you do it.”

“When your wrestling life is filled with failures like your SCW Bombshells title run, you need to take your wins in other places. But against me Keira, there is no hiding, there is no shuffling the wrestling under the rug in place of family bliss….I’m going to get in the ring with you...and kick your fucking head in.”

Secrets

Have you ever felt so angry that you felt numb? No shaking, no heat in your body. Just the numb emotional depth of being so furious that something inside breaks. That is where Johanna Kreiger was. It had been a few days since she had seen Frederick Gustav talking to her father. She hadn’t seen him, she hadn;’t talked to him. She just sat at home sending text messages to let him know she felt sick. It wasn’t strictly a lie, she did feel sick to her stomach.

But she had run out of time. Gustav was coming to see her. A message telling her that he ”needed” her.

It was a joke, she thought to herself. Needed her? After what she heard. He needed her because her father wanted her watched. She felt like a fool. She let Frederick in, in more ways than one. And in the time she had stayed at him she needed an outlet, she needed a way to get all the physical out. She grabbed the weights she had put away long ago, she rediscovered her love for lifting and working out. It helped. But not enough. And now she needed to make a decision.

Should she confront him?

Or lie and hide it?

To confront him, to put it all out in the open would set her free, allow her to move on and not have to play pretend or go into that office and feel as if she was being used as a tool for the criminal element. On the other hand, if she hid what she knew, if she stayed she could work from the inside. But where would she go? Who could she go to? Everytime Johanna felt like she was finding people who understood, who wanted to cut out the cancerous corruption in the police force, it turned out to be a lie.

Why shouldn’t she lie back? Why shouldn’t she get a little payback by gathering information on her own? She sneered as the intercom buzzed. She closed her eyes and got to her feet walking over and pressing the flashing red button. ”Come on up Frederick.” It was time to make the decision. She took in a deep breath and moved towards the door unlocking it. The knob turned and clicked. A bouquet of red roses leading the way as Gustav stepped in with a smile.

Johanna raised an eyebrow and folded her arms leaning on the back of her couch, he handed them to her with a laugh. ”Thought these might make you feel better. But it looks like you already do.” His eyes moved around the apartment, the workout gear sitting in the corner as Johanna took the flowers putting them down on her bench before moving to the fridge.

”Would you like a drink?” She tried to sound like her regular self, but the words came out dry and emotionless.

Gustav gave a small nod, his eyes narrowing and his head titling. He obviously knew something. Felt something. Johanna grabbed a bottle of water putting it in front of him. There was no hiding it. He knew something. ”Thank you.” He popped the top taking a sip before sitting across the bench, his hands clasping together.

”What does he have on you?”

The question popped out, with force and venom, Johannas eyes burning a hole right through Gustav, right through who he thought he was and what he thought Johanna knew and felt. He swallowed hard and sat forward locking his fingers together shaking his head. ”How did you...nevermind. Your father he, he has the ear of certain people. People who have no morals, no ethics..” He closed his eyes and trailed off, Johanna ground her teeth together and moved forward shaking his head. Gustav sighed and continued. ”They threatened my daughter….”

Johanna swallowed hard. How could she be angry at him now? She was still angry at the situation but this was understandable. A child being threatened. It wasn’t out of the realm of possibility with these people. ”Why didn’t you tell me?”

He shook his head throwing his hands in the air before backing away. ”It didn’t seem like a good excuse. I don’t know…”

There was silence now. Neither of them knew what to say or where to go. Johannas heart sank and her blood chilled cold as she realised her father knew, and was willingly a part of this. She cleared her throat and folded her arms over her chest. ”So, was what happened between us real? Or was that just...an extra for you?” Gustav shook his head and looked awkwardly down at the ground. Johanna felt as if that was an answer, she held back the anger but couldn’t hide the heartbreak. ”I see...I guess I’m not as smart as I thought..”

Gustav suddenly looked up and moved around reaching out to grab her hands. ”No...that isn’t..” He sighed heavily and squeezed her hands. ”I have feelings for you, that wasn’t part of it. But, I don’t know what to do Jo. They have me in a box here, I can’t do a goddamn thing…”

He was in prison

Gustav was in an impossible position, and Johanna knew it, felt it. She needed to help him. But in helping him she would risk her own life as well as his and his daughters life. And possibly put her father in prison. But, what choice did she have?...

All things end

”I’m confused..”

Johanna sat forward on a steel chair sitting in the middle of Wolfslairs grappling room. Her hair tied up and away from her face as she shook her head.

”I lost to Courtney Pierce. One on one in the center of that ring she beat me. I was looking up at the lights, unable to really compute what happened. On that night she was the better woman and I can accept that and move on. I was prepared to go back to the drawing board and do what I needed to do. To just go back to the bottom of the ladder and start to climb. See, where I’m from, how I feel and how I think is simple. You build momentum, you win and you earn title shots, opportunities and title reigns…”

“The exact opposite of what Jesse Salco has done in her entire career.”

“But now, well, now I don’t know what to think or feel. After that loss I have been handed, gifted a title opportunity at a championship that has become the prize in the Bombshells division.”

“And I say that with all due respect to Amber Ryan and the Bombshells world title. See the Roulette title is a joke. It’s a title born of Chaos and is now over the shoulder of a mask wearing piece of trash that should have stayed in Grime and SCU. That title si dead to me. That title is meaningless to me. The Bombshells world title is a championship out of my reach but one that also needs to be rebuilt.”

Johanna shrugs and sits back.

”The internet championship though? Well, that title was taken and raised up to a lofty position and as much as I want to sit here and hype this match up and tell the world that I will destroy Myra Rivers and take that championship. Well, deep down feel like I don’t deserve it. I haven’t earned a shot at it and I haven’t earned the right to assume I can destroy a woman like her. A world champion in other companies and a ring veteran. And I understand many people will probably be confused about my own statements. In this business you are meant to be arrogant and cocky. Hell, in the past I have been viewed that way but I have said it time and time again. Arrogance is fine as long as it is earned…”

She pushes up to her feet, wearing black workout shorts and a black crop top. Her large tattooed arms folding over her chest.

”And in this case, I haven’t. See, I know how good I am, I know I should be feared based off how I look, what I can do and what I am capable of but at the same time I haven’t reached the heights I should. Even with my victories over former world champions, even with my two roulette title reigns and my mixed tag title reign. But, I have a chance to rectify that. And If I beat Myra, if I take that OInternet title and add it to the wolfslair collection then I believe that would be going a long way to earning that arrogance. And, with added motivation the Bombshells internet title is the only active championship Wolfslair have not held. So imagine that. The final active title being added to the collection eh?..”

“To do that though I have to face a woman who has held that championship for almost nine months.”

“Nine months...that is a long long time.”

“Nine months is the time it takes for a child to be born. Nine months is no joke. And Myra has spoken about her desire to be a fighting champion and while Roxi Johnson is waiting in the wings for her championship opportunity I have a chance right now to swoop in and take that title. And to be honest, I have this feeling that Myra will overlook me. And why wouldn’t she? I just have her all the reasons in the world to run her mouth about this match. The fact it came out of nowhere, the fact I lost to Courtney Pierce after losing the Roulette title to royal purple. The fact I admitted myself that I felt like I didn’t deserve the championship match…”

“But just because I feel that way doesn’t mean I’m not going to do all I need to. It doesn’t mean I’m not going to get in the ring and look to rip Myra's body apart and hold that title high over my head. And truth be told. I believe Roxi Johnson would love a chance to avenge her loss against me.”

“So Myra, I hope you’re ready for a fight because while I respect your abilities and your title reign, I don’t respect much else about you. And I am a killer, if you overlook me, if you underestimate me it will be to your detriment. I am a well trained machine in that ring and despite my recent failures I still have a great record in this company. And I will give you everything I have and I will look at ripping your arm off and prying that title from your fingers...so good luck...champ”

Betrayal

Guilt. It’s a horrible feeling. A tickle in the pit of your stomach that grows and aches. It makes your heart sink, it makes you feel sick. But it’s a necessary feeling. Johanna felt it in the pit of her stomach as she moved down the pathway. She was suspicious, and she was following Gustav. A simple phone call changed it all, overhearing everything. She went from trusting him, falling in love with him, to doubting and following him. Almost as if she was stalking him. In fact, she was stalking him. And that is what bothered her.

She had been down this road before. Told to watch everything he did.

Only to find out her father was the one who was suspicious and needed to know. But that had been in the past, she had been in a relationship with him now. She should have trusted him. Something seemed off. No matter how she tried to shake it and believe him, there was a horrible voice in the back of her mind telling her that her guard shouldn’t be lowered. And it had come to a head earlier today.

He received a phone call, he said he would meet at the “usual” place. So, Johanna followed him. Using all her skills to stay back far enough to not be seen, but close enough not to lose him. Moving in between people in the street, moving behind walls, around corners. She wore a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, pulling the hood up over her head. Her long blond hair tied back in a bun, Gustav seemed confident that no one was following. Confident his deception had worked. He turned down an alleyway towards a bar in the center of town, moving to the back door.

Johanna took in a long deep breath and moved to the front stepping in, at the back in a corner booth Gustav sat down across from another man. Johannas blood froze in her body, a chill going up her spine.

Father?

Her voice was a whisper, just a breath escaping her lips. She turned quickly sitting down over the other side of the bar, her hood being kept up as she shook her head in disbelief and anger. She leaned to the side trying to listen to them talk. ”No, she went to the office. Didn’t even question it..”

She could feel the anger rising. Johanna knew damn well who Gustav was talking about. It was her.

”You must have won her over. Johanna is not the type to be so blind.” Blind? Johanna sneered, it took all her willpower not to jump up and yell at them, scream at them. But that would be playing her hand too soon. She needed to learn more. What was all this?. ”But, she will understand Frederick. In time. She had to learn that her ideals are all well and good in theory. But in practise? She needs to grow up.”

Her father laughed to himself, Gustav seemed to not agree, the look on his face betrayed what he should have felt.

Gustav leaned forward, his hands clasped together with a shake of his head. ”I wish I could believe like her sir.” He trailed off for a moment and took a deep breath in and then back out looking up at the ceiling and then back at Johannas father. ”She thinks she can make a difference and clean it all up. She actually sounds like she’s inspired by the thought of it. I don’t want to...break her heart.” Johanna shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. He did care, they both did. But they were also trying to shield her, and make excuses as to why they needed to keep secrets.

She made fists with her hands, turning her head to look sideways at them both. ”You don’t want to, but you have to. She will keep chasing her tail and you have to keep her that way.” Her eyes lit up, her ears twitched. What was this? ”I knew when she came to me, she would never let this go. I need you to keep her on the hook. Until the deal is done...can you do that?”

There was a pause, Gustav sighed heavily and threw his arms up. ”Do I really have a choice Krieger?”

He sounded defeated, he sounded as if there was something there that stopped him from doing what he wanted or felt was right. ”Truthfully? Yes. But, is it really much of a choice, Frederick?” There was an awkward pause, the two men stared across the table at one another, Gustav got to his feet and shook his head turning on his heels to go back out through the back door. Johanna stood up and moved towards the front door, her feet moving faster as her father collected his things to leave to.

She moved from the bar, walking away from the Ally that Gustav appeared from, she got to a doorway, leaning against it breathing heavily. She was angry, she was upset. But there was nothing she could do right now. This answered some questions, but unfortunately for Johanna…

It asked a whole load more..

Holding Court.

Tap.Tap.Tap.

Johanna Kriegers black painted fingernails moved across the table, rattling in order as she stared ahead. In her make up, her eyes lined in black and red, her lips painted black as well as she sneered and laughed to herself.

”Did you all miss me?”

A simple question, her german accent being familiar to the fans watching her promo, her white teeth shining under the light above with her bright blue eyes as well.

”This time of year is always interesting. Returning stars in the blast from the past, members of our roster who should get title shots being pushed back in the pecking order for people who would leave the company again when their match was over and they lost. Meanwhile, people like me, full time Sin city wrestling performers are hidden away and forgotten about. I get it, that tournament needs to be done, it’s a tradition. But keep in mind, when you hold back talent who love to fight, then finally unleash them when the tournament is said and done. People get hurt.”

“That is what I plan to fucking do. Hurt people. And not because I have to, not because it is right or just. It’s because I simply want to. I want to get in the ring with the best this company has to offer and send them out on their backs. Look at this company. Look at the women's champions. You have Myra Rivers parading around the Internet title like it was a crown jewel despite the fact anyone with real talent went after the Roulette or the World Bombshells title. And now her mouth has cashed a cheque that her talent will have trouble cashing as some of the best in this company will be fighting it out in a gauntlet to face her.”

“You have the Roulette title being held by someone who honestly doesn’t deserve it. And I get it, that it sounds like sour grapes but I tried to make that title mean something only for it to be won by a goddamn loudmouthed reject from SCU who fools all of you by talking for twenty minutes but never actually SAYING anything.”

“And before anyone says anything, no I don’t want my “rematch” for that piece of shit. I won it twice, I have no desire to try and match Samantha Marlowe for numbered reigns because she wasn’t good enough to climb to the top of the division.”

Johanna sneers and growls to herself under her breath.

”And then, there’s ther Bombshells title. A championship now in the hands of a woman so many of you are afraid to face or say a fucking word about. And I get it, she’s intimidating and a champion, but while Alicia and I are prepared to face Amber Ryan, the rest of you shake in your boots and step back. And Amber has an uphill battle, restoring the honor, integrity and lineage of a title that in the last few months has faded away.”

“The bombshells title used to be the most important one in the company.”

“But lackluster champions in Keira and Christina made sure to take shine off of it. I hope Amber can be the champion our division needs and resorts the championship to it’s former glory, but with that being said. This division needs me.”

“Sin city wrestling needs women like me who will be prepared to go the extra mile and set the world on fire.”

“A woman who is dominant. And part of the most dominant gym and group in the recent history of this company. And no, I’m not talking about Jet City. And to think, last time any of you saw me I was destroying and beating little miss Violet. That is something you all need to look at and realise. I am one of the most dominant Bombshells on the roster and despite the fact I lost that damn Roulette title twice I have stayed that way.”

She shakes her head, obviously annoyed. But then again, when isn’t she?

”And now I enter into a match that is being billed as Jet City versus Wolfslair. And hey, Jet City has produced champions. Especially in Sin city. But Wolfslair is a fucking global entity. We have dominant champions and members in other companies, not just Sin city. So, we can take that out of it, because when the bell rings and Courtney and I are face to face, it will ne one on one. She won’t have anyone behind her, nor will I have Alicia, Kallie or Charlie behind me. None of the other female members of Wolfslair, whether they are in this company or outside of it will have my back in that ring…”

“It’s one on one…”

“And I crave that, I crave that fight, I crave that action after sitting my ass on the sidelines. And Courtney Pierce seems like a good opponent to face. A woman who has finally been able to step forward and break a losing streak. And not just that, but you also have reminded the world and most importantly Mark Ward that you never got your Bombshells title shot from back in 2018….”

“When you won that ridiculous tournament.”

“Now, I know what you’re thinking. I’m about to go off about how you don’t deserve a shot from a tournament that was three years ago, that you didn’t come back sooner to take it so why should you get special treatment?. But, the truth might surprise you. After our match Courtney, you should take that shot. You should go be Amber’s first opponent. Because it will wake so many people up to the real truth, that people like you are not the ones to lead the Bombshells division anywhere…”

“Women like you, Candy, Violet….you’re all not good enough to reach that next level. And women like Christina, Roxi, Keira, Mikah, Jesse Salco, Sam Marlowe...Mercedes Vargas...they’re all clutching onto a past that no longer exists. And a future that isn’t made for them. It’s made for me, and women like me. I’m done being a bit player here, I’m done being a mixed tag team champion or roulette champion, I’m done with beating “legends” like Roxi Johnson and then it being swept under the rub all because the queen bitches ego can’t take it and GOD FORBID she would actually accept her fucking losses the way she crows about her wins.”

“I wonder Courtney….is that how you’ll be?...after I beat you this Sunday?...I guess we’ll see…”

“Won’t we?”

Happiness is a construct.

She couldn’t remember when she had ever been this happy. Despite the pressures of her job and everything that went with it Johanna finally felt like she had something tangible. Something she could keep for herself. Something that wasn’t defined by her last name and where she came from. Growing up she had been put in a box, told she was going to be a police officer and that was it. No direction in her life to find that spark that would make her feel whole. Then she met him. Frederick Gustav, a special inspector and detective from the internal bureau. He hand picked her to be in his task force. And over the last year Johanna had gone from feeling like an outcast in her department to a valued member of a new one.

She went from being told she was wrong and to back down by her own father and friends to being welcomed into a new job that was restoring her faith in the very system she thought was crumbling to the ground.

It was more than that now. Frederick had told her everything, he had shown her trust and care. And now, with every touch of his fingertips on her skin, every kiss and look across the room, she also felt something that she had never brought into herself or her life. Love. She was falling deep down that rabbit hole and was letting herself go. It was the equivalent of closing her eyes and falling backwards, trusting the other person to catch her. And for Johanna that was never an option, never an emotional response she wanted or expected.

It had been months since she heard from her father. Months since that phone call that left her sitting on her bathroom floor. Where Frederick had picked her back up, he dusted her off and reminded her what trust really was.

It had been like a dream. Frederick had started spending so much time at her apartment. Johanna strood in the kitchen, wearing one of his t-shirts. Sausages sizzled in one flat frying pan as eggs were cracked and fried in another. A pot of coffee sitting next to the food staying warm for when he would wake up. Johanna’s long blond hair was up in a bun, she was wearing no make up and this was still not the Johanna we know today. She was small, slim with no large muscles or tattoos. She let out a content sigh before looking up at the clock above the kitchen bench.

She took the food off the burners, plating it up and realizing the time. She turned and rushed towards the bedroom. But as she reached out and touched the door handle she heard Fredericks voice. It stopped her in her tracks. ”Yeah. No problem. I can meet you at the usual place.” Johanna turned, not wanting to listen in and giving Frederick some privacy. That was until she heard something else. Something that just seemed off. ”She has no idea. She’s still looking for the infiltrator. She’s cold as ice.” Her heart started beating faster, what did he mean?. Johanna swallowed hard and backed away from the door as she heard the bed springs release, Frederick was standing up and moving to the door.

She backed up faster getting back down the hallway to the kitchen, she stood with her back to him, holding the plates in her hands and breathing slowly to try and keep herself calm. no reason to get worked up she told herself, the words running through her mind. Frederick stretched and came up behind her, his hands wrapping around her midsection.

He sniffed the air and gave her a small kiss on the cheek. ”That smells amazing.” Johanna let out a small laugh, she tried to act natural, not suspecting a thing. Frederick grabbed a plate and set it onto the bench before getting some coffee. He moved around and grabbed out knives and forks putting some down near his plate and around the other side for Johanna. ”You will be in charge this afternoon, I have a meeting at HQ around 3.” liar She turned and took a sip of her coffee nodding her head as Frederick cut a sausage popping it into his mouth. ”Are you alright Jo? You seem quiet”

Does she ask him what the call was about? Or should she trust him? Her breathing started to quicken again, she closed her eyes for a moment before making the effort to slow it. ”I’m just tired, I’ll be fine. But it’s all fine with me, I can make sure the reports are done, do what you need to do.” She shot a smile and ate some of her own food and took another sip of coffee.

Frederick finished and stood up taking his plate and mug to the sink before washing them and putting them into the dishwasher, he turned and looked Johanna up and down with a grin. ”Maybe you should finish eating and join me in the shower?” He gave her a small wink, Jo swallowed hard and tried to think of a reason not to, any reason at all that would avoid suspicion. But, there was nothing there. Instead she twisted her upper lip into a smirk and could do nothing but simply nod. Frederick leaned forward kissing her. ”I’ll go start the water...don’t be too long.” As he moved down towards the bathroom Johannas heart sank in to her stomach, she looked down at her food unable to finish it.

She put it in the bin, pouring her coffee down the drain, her hands gripping the edge of the sink as she tried to calm herself down. it’s nothing she told herself. Nothing at all.

New Direction.

”In the lead up to this match I have heard all the rumors and innuendo when it comes to it. The talk of a rematch between myself and Royal Purple…”

She couldn’t help but laugh and shake her head. Johanna taking a deep breath trying to keep herself from exploding in anger and frustration.

” What makes anyone think that I want a rematch for that championship?. I tried my best to make that championship mean something, the chaos that came with it, the incredible amount of random violence that a simple spin the roulette wheel could bring. And in the end, I lost that championship to someone who took my mind off the match by rambling on and on about a name bullshit and also lying about me. She called the woman who is a Brazilian jiu jitsu blackbelt, unskilled and a brute. I’m someone who has forgotten more submissions than that twit will ever learn in her life”

“But, she was able to beat me, to take the Roulette title from me.”

“And truth is, I have my eyes set on bigger and better things. I think it’s time I leave this division behind.”

“But no, not the bombshells title. As much as I would love to move on and compete for that I think Myra Rivers needs a real title contender. The internet championship is there as a bright shiny trophy for me to chase. See Myra has been dominating the competition holding that title for 200 days, and the roulette title? Well that thing is something I have now held twice. A title that I defended against one of the best champions to ever hold it in Samantha Marlowe. Despite what those idiots Bill and Bea Barnhart have said.”

Johanna sneers and rolls her eyes clearly in a bad mood.

”But they aren’t the only members of this roster to be complete idiots and jokes. In fact I have to face one now, in Violet Amelia Holt. And trust me, I hate the fact I have to get in the ring with her. See Violet falls into the similar category as others. Instead of having a look at her opponents, especially ones that are better than her and have better records and simply admitting it, she tries to verbally break everyone down. She tries to run her mouth and act like she’s the top of the company when in reality Violet is an advert failure.”

“I can admit that she has skills, Violet can get in the ring and throw down. But at the same time, when someone like her simply cuts the same substandard promo and talks an incredible amount of shit and still fails it becomes tiring.”

“And lately, well lately Violet has been running her mouth acting like a bad ass. She thinks she’s intimidating because she “five feet of crazy”, I think I’ve heard that somewhere else before but can’t quite place it. Regardless. The fact that she is trying to be intimidating in a world that includes me is laughable.”

An eye roll, a scoff and Johanna folding her arms over her chest.

”But, I get it, Violet will be able to burst through and run her mouth about me losing to Royal Purple. The roulette title slipping through my grasp, I know this because it’s honestly all she can focus on, that or going down that same tired path where I was “carried” by Alex. This is what people do, they zero in on lies that they tell themselves, they repeat the same song and dance and after I beat them and walk away there is nothing but silence. Silence from Roxi Johnson, silence from Sam Marlowe and Silence from Jesse Salco after I beat her.”

“Time and time again, I watch the same thing spin like the hands on a goddamn clock and it makes me feel sick to my stomach. I am one of the best professional wrestlers on this planet Violet, I have proved it before and I will do it again. So please, cut your little promo and act “crazy”, cause that’s all it is, an act.”

“When it comes to me, there is no act...there is no “fake”..”

“I am a violent person, I love the feeling of punching someone in the face or trying to rip an arm off or choke someone out. This is what I live for and I refuse to be talked down to by someone like you and like that idiot Royal Purple did. So get in the ring Violet, show me how “bad ass” you are...and watch while I break you and expose you…”

I smell a rat

Have you ever had a sick feeling in your stomach that refuses to go away? A sinking queasy spot that keeps going deeper down into the pit of your gut?. Imagine that feeling there because you have guilt and sadness constantly on your mind. Because you believe you are doing the right thing but there is still a small nugget of doubt that over the days has grown. That is where we find Johanna Krieger. A few days after meeting her father and taking the information against the leader of her own taskforce she was standing in her apartment. Her arms crossed over her chest as her eyes darted back and forth across a corkboard. Pictures had been pinned there, various sticky notes and pieces of string to tie it all together.

There were pictures of Gustav, of a mysterious man, and other members of the task force. Johanna closed her eyes and shook her head bringing a cup of coffee to her lips.

The last few days had been a mess. She had tried to act natural, to just go about her business as she had been for the year prior. But she had avoided Gustav. Anytime he asked to talk to her she thought up an excuse. Most of them poorly worded. She stumbled and stuttered forcing smiles with the same sick feeling behind them. And today was no different, a text message lighting up her phone as soon as she woke up. She told him she was ill, she would not be in today.

It took Agent Gustav half an hour to get back to her. To hope that she felt better and other empty general platitudes. In truth, she needed the day away. She needed to gather herself and her thoughts. To try and make sense of the evidence she had been given from her father, the evidence she had collected herself. So many questions. The what, where, why, who and hows. She took another sip of her coffee, her eyes darting back and forth before she leaned in closer, noticing something in Gustavs' hand on one of the pictures in his meeting with the mystery man. His cell phone.

Was he...recording his conversation?

Johanna grabbed a magnifying glass, looking closer and going up Gustav's arm to his open jacket, the handle of a standard-issue semi-automatic nine millimeter hung out ever so slightly. He was armed, recording the conversation. Her mind started going deeper down the rabbit hole before the buzzing sound of her apartment's intercom startled her out of it. She moved towards it and reached forward pressing the button. ”Hello?”.

”Johanna? It’s Gustav...can I come up?” She swallowed hard, fear coming over her, washing like a wave. She stuttered for a moment and stayed silent.

She realized it would seem suspicious before pressing the button again. ”Yes come on up I’ll buzz you in” She pressed her thumb on the unlock button allowing Gustav to walk through, the second she heard the door close she turned and moved fast, she pulled the corkboard forward and flipped it over to the opposite side showing the other half of her work, the hunt for the “mole” in the taskforce. She looked around for anything else that might betray her work and position but before she could do a proper sweep there was a knock at the door.

She took a few more deep breaths before walking over and undoing the chain and the lock opening the door, Agent Gustav on the other side, his brown hair slicked back, he wore a suit and a large black overcoat. ”Come on in…” Johanna moved to the side, Gustav gave a small nod stepping through into her apartment, he moved his hand up to his forehead rubbing it slowly. ”What can I do for you?” Johanna tried not to seem nervous, she tried to act as naturally as possible.

Gustav looked around, the corkboard catching his eye making Johanna swallow hard and sweat a little, he turned to her and gave a nod. ”I came to check on you, how are you feeling?”

It hit her, she was meant to be ill, she sighed and raised her eyebrows. ”I am just exhausted, I needed a day to decompress, high pressure, I’m sure you understand.” She shot a small smile at him, he gave her an understanding nod in return moving to her kitchen bench sitting on one of the stools next to the bench.

His demeanor changed, from a small understanding grin to a serious look as his eyes trailed down. ”Johanna...we have another spy….but this time it’s from our own side...people I thought trusted us.” Her heart started to race, she held her breath and folded her arms over her chest as Gustav continued. ”I have a friend, he transferred from special tactics to the federal administration. He came across some paperwork regarding an informant in our task force.”

Fuck Dad really?

Gustav slowly got to his feet with a sigh stepping forward, he looked up at Johanna, she thought maybe Gustavb noticed something was off. He gave a nod again and slowly opened his coat, a shock of fear went right up Joahnnas spine as she remembered the picture, the gun, and what Gustav was capable of. He pulled out a manilla envelope, her heart released and she could breathe again, he stepped forward handing her the envelope with a shake of his head. ”Those are names, people I have narrowed down for the first case, but….the other one, the informant sent to watch me, I don’t want you interfering with their work if you find them.”

What the fuck?”

Her eyes shot up to Gustav as he stood near the corkboard looking over the information on who Johanna believed was working for the criminal element. He clasped his hands behind his back and turned with a smile looking at Jo, right in her bright blue eyes. ”I have nothing to hide, so whoever is working for the national group...they can do their job….but, I have kept you long enough.” He moved forward and passed her to the door grabbing the handle and opening it. ”Keep up the good work Officer Krieger, and please….feel better yeah?”

She smiled warmly and gave a nod. ”I will see you tomorrow Agent Gustav.”

He couldn’t help but laugh as he started to close the door. ”I think it’s about time you called me Frederick, Jo.”

She smiled again and gave a nod motioning to say goodbye as he shut the door, a huge sigh of relief escaping her lips as she collapsed on the couch. But now she was more confused than ever. Did he know? Was he playing with her? Or was that a direct order?. So many questions. Johanna felt lost. Now more than ever.

A legendary scalp

”Have you noticed that I have made a habit of collecting former Bombshells champions?”

Johanna’s voice rings out through the silence, her face slowly blurring into view. A Completely black background behind her as her face seems to light up. Her long blonde hair tied back up and high, a few black strands intertwined with the blonde as it hung down. Her accent shining through but still speaking perfect English.

”Last time you all saw me, I defended this….against Samantha Marlowe.”

Johanna slowly lifts the SCW Roulette title up to see, she smiles showing her pearly white teeth made even whiter by her black lipstick. Her eyes were made to shine with black eyeliner and her black warpaint across her nose. She positions the title belt over her shoulder and holds it close with a smirk.

”A woman who has held the SCW bombshells title before, along with Seleana and Roxi, two other names that I added to my list. But, more than that, Samantha Marlowe is, without a doubt the greatest Bombshells roulette champion this company has ever seen. Beating her validates my reign, it validates everything I have been saying. Yet still, I struggle to get any respect in this company. Or maybe, I’m overthinking things and peoples silence is a respect all its own. See, I look at all the other Bombshells in this company, including my own stablemate Alicia Lukas, and you are all loudmouthed squabbling children. Calling each other out and running your mouths trying to get a step up with mind games.”

“But, me?. The only person to come after me was Jesse Salco. And aside from her fluking a win over me she has been my bitch. She took the roulette title from me, I won it right back and then after she ran her mouth I told her she could have another shot and she promptly fell silent.”

“Do you people know why? Does my opponent this week, Mikah know or care?”

“Let me enlighten you people to a few facts that may have escaped you. It’s something I already mentioned on Twitter just to use social media for my own promotional work. But, I’ll repeat it here. I have been in Sin City Wrestling for a year. Before that I had been to Union Battleground and NFW. Both places I found success, I was one half of the NFW tag team champions and I won Union Battlegrounds Warhorse medallion. Since joining Wolfslair, since coming to America I have been dominant. Quietly destroying people in different companies before landing here.”

“And it hasn’t changed…”

She can’t help but snarl, her nose turning up as Johanna takes a deep breath clutching the Bombshells roulette title over her black leather jacket and Children of Bodom t-shirt(RIP Alexi Laiho).

”In the year that I have been in Sin City Wrestling I have been a mixed tag team champion, I have beaten former Bombshells champions like it’s going out of fashion and I am a two time Roulette champion. I have one of the best winning percentages in this company and I have been quietly carving a path towards glory. And because I have not been as vocal about my success as some others I haven’t been taken seriously. Roxi Johnson didn’t take me seriously, I beat her and yet, she was able to challenge her wife for the Bombshells title. Jesse Salco and Char Kwan didn’t take me seriously. And I kicked Char back into obscurity and beat Jesse Salco back to being a laughable curtain jerker. So, the question I have to ask...is Mikah going to take me seriously?”

“All evidence points to no…”

“And hey, why should she right? This is the GREAT MIKAH. Longest total days as Bombshells champion, she beat everyone when she was destroying the division. She made her return to SCW with Kris Ryans by her side and won the mixed tag titles and was undefeated all year. She has one of the best records of all time and is a bonafide hall of fame star. So why should this legend of the SCW ring worry about little ol me eh?. Why should this returning goddess of the Bombshells division look at Johanna Krieger with any type of fear and trepidation?”

“Well, it’s simple. Mikah has never faced someone like me.”

She can’t help but laugh again under her breath, Johanna paces back and forth holding the title on her shoulder before taking it off and looking at it. She sighs and shakes her head.

”It’s a shame the title isn’t on the line and we aren’t in a roulette rules match. See, I thrive on mayhem, and that is what this title represents. You never know what kind of carnage you are about to go into. But, with that being said, in just a one on one wrestling match, I’m just as dangerous. See Miks, and I can call you Miks right?, I am a rare mix of power, speed and skill. No one hits like me, no one can break you down like I can. And the truth is going into this match against someone like you, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”

“And you doing your usual spiel will just help me out in that regard. See, I lose to you and I have just lost to an undefeated former bombshells champion and one of the most dominant wrestlers this company has ever seen. No shame in it, I will nod, shrug and go on to face whoever wins that number one contenders match earlier in the night.”

“But...what happens if I beat you Mikah?”

“See, I know your type, you are someone incapable of showing respect to anyone because you think yourself so above everyone. I have respect for anyone willing to step in the ring, even more for anyone willing to do it against me, and that includes you, for all your accomplishments and coming back to SCW in the way you have. Hell I won’t even go the route others have and say Kris has carried you, because I had heard the same bullshit about Alex apparently carrying me. But, as I said...I get your usual spiel…”

“Your nose in the air arrogance that many say you've earned…”

“You and Kris are the power couple of SCW and you both have earned everything you have, but the fact is that you are going to dig yourself into a hole and there’s no way you can escape it, cause if you were to look at what I have done in this company and look into why the company itself calls me a “force of nature” then you will have to show me some respect and that is so off-brand for an arrogant bitch like you that it will be viewed as a weakness...whereas with me? I might be tough, dangerous and cocky...but I’m also a warrior, not a wannabe royal who expects everyone to kiss her ass.”

She sneers again and moves around before placing the bombshell's roulette title down and placing her hand on it with a sense of pride.

”Hell, I saw it against Seleana, that woman has been winning titles in your absence and has had to put up with her wifes stupidity, she deserves respect but instead of giving her that you had to tear her apart and put her down. You treated her like I treat Jesse and Char, and that speaks volumes about where your mind is at and what kind of person you truly are. So if you can’t do that for Sel, what hope does little old me have?. So you’ll go through your regular “I’m better than you” crap we’ve heard for the last five or six years, and if you beat me I can shrug it off...but...I beat you, end your little 2020 undefeated streak...which...is only the second worst thing about 2020…”

“Then what Mikah?”

“What will you do? What will you say? How will you react?. There needs to be a passing of the torch and the bombshells division needs more of the newer names to stand up to the “old guard:” and that is what I plan to do. I plan on walking down to that ring and beating the hell out of you until you give up. And I mean that...with all the respect in the world…”

The truth shall set you free.

Johanna never really cared for coffee. It just wasn’t something she enjoyed. Occasionally having a cup to wake herself up in the morning. But never getting the appeal of using it as a conversation device. The term “go and get a coffee” never resonated with her as a reason to spend time with anyone. Yet here she was a few days after the false abduction and interrogation from the hands of her father. And a large mug of coffee steaming in front of her at a small cafe in the center of town. She had buried any anger she had deep downl, after he had tried to get information from her, after the questions and the attempt at intimidation Johanna had been furious.

As you would expect.

But as the last few days went on, remembering that after she had figured it out it all fell apart and she was swiftly taken back to her apartment without answers, the anger changed. Suddenly the main thing that came through her mind was curiosity. Why did her father get involved? He had told her to drop it, to walk away and now here he was butting his nose in her business. And what about Gustav? Why was he meeting with? She had not brought it up with him, she felt guilty, she should trust him. But there was something there, in the pit of her stomach that made no sense to her.

She reached out and took the mug drinking down some of the coffee, she made a face as she tasted the almond milk and hazelnut flavour before looking up at her father who was sitting across from her. His hands clasped together and looking her up and down.; He was looking at her differently than ever before. Not as a daughter but as an informant.

Johanna didn’t like it.

It made her feel dirty, distrustful. Even though her job over the last year had been to weed out and find corrupt cops and basically spy on her own, this was different. This was her father. ”I’m….sorry about the measures we took. But I had my reasons.” His voice was soft but also full of authority. It was one she knew quite well growing up. And in that moment she felt like she was ten years old again. Being told off for getting clay on the walls. ”You have to understand that operations like yours. They cannot go unchecked.”

Johanna took a deep breath trying to keep it all in, the questions as well as the anger. The hypocrisy of the situation was not lost on her. He stared at her and tilted his head sideways, he knew his daughter well and knew when she wanted to say something. Johanna leaned forward across the small table putting her arms down to balance. ”Now you care about things going unchecked? And you pick on us?” She scoffed and threw her hands up in the air before taking another drink of her overly sweet coffee. Her father shook his head and turned, pulling a file from his bag placing it in front of her. ”What is this?”

He stayed silent for a moment, his eyes moving from her to the file and back again trying to tell her that she should open it. Johanna just sat there staring being obstinate. ”Read it….” She stayed silent again unfolding her arms over her chest. ”Please”

She let out a deep sigh and picked it up, opening it. There was the same picture from the interrogation, Gustav with the unknown man. But then behind it were others, taken at different times at different meeting places, Gustav with the same man. Talking, sharing papers. This didn’t look good. Johanna put them down and cleared her throat. ”So, what do you want to know? Because I have no idea who that is.” She swallowed hard and tapped her fingers on the table. ”I can’t help you…” Johanna grabbed her things and shuffled out from the booth.

Her father reached forward grabbing her arm. ”Please, Johanna sit.” She took a deep breath and sat back down with a shake of her head. ”I understand how you feel, that you are angry…”

”You could say that…”

Her words spit in anger, her father sighed heavily and continued choosing to ignore it. ”I have been asked to look into your task force and specifically Gustav.” Her anger rose higher, her hands closing into fists. ”So, I would like you to keep an eye out an-”

That was it, Johanna had enough. ”Are you kidding me?” She snapped, her voice raised and people in the cafe looked over startled at her. She lowered her voice and leaned in. ”First I bring you evidence of corruption, I show it to you..you told me to drop it…” She pauses with a small growl under her breath. ”I found people who were already investigating, I was right...and now you want me to look into THEM?” She let out a scoff and a tut before turning her legs to the side and trying to leave again.

”He’s dirty Jo…” She stops, her father took a drink of his own coffee, black no sugar. He set the cup back down and looked up at his daughter with a shake of his head. ”Gustav, he’s been living well beyond his means. And information from your investigation has been leaked.” A chill went down Johannas spine. She had been tasked with finding the leak by Gustav, sent on a wild goose chase. She thought back to his office, everything he said.

Could it have been a lie?

She slowly sat back down, looking at her half drunk coffee before drinking the rest quickly. ”Tell me what you need…”

In defence of Sam

”You should never guarantee anything in this business…”

Johanna looks up through a veil of blonde hair, her mouth twisting into a black lipstick painted grin. Her teeth looked even more white with the contrast.

”Jesse Salco made them, so did Char Kwan. Both of them failed miserably in their promises to themselves and any fans they believe they had. And all I have done is tell the truth. I told you all that Jesse Salco got lucky, people rolled their eyes, called me a sore loser and even Jesse Salco herself, a woman who throws out challenges week in and week out and tries to earn shots by talking instead of winning, decided I “wasn’t worthy”. But, the powers that be in this company actually understand what is real in this world and I got my rematch. When the dust settled, Jesse Salco was laying there broken, beaten and championshipless.”

“A state that she should be used to being in really.”

“But the fact remains, she promised she’d beat me. Just like Char Kwan did. She made the same mistakes that Jesse did and I went into that match ready to destroy her. And that is what I did. It’s what I always do. You people don't seem to realise what SCW has in me. I’m not simply another name on the roster. I’m not a goddamn piece of eye candy, I’m not just a good ”Wrestler”. I am a pure force of destruction and mayhem. When I get in the ring I don’t just look to beat my opponent in an exciting match to send the fans home happy and to collect my paycheck. I don’t just do my job. No, no, no. I beat people down…”

“I make them question if they really want to do this or be here anymore.”

“I make them humble.”

“I did that to Roxi Johnson, I did that to Seleana Zdunich, I did it to Jesse and Char. This is what I do to people. And it’s about time SCW admitted to themselves that they have a monster in their midst. Not a monster in size, I’m no Tempest. But a monster in attitude and skill. See when I get in that ring and the roulette wheel spins, I smile at all the violence I can put on my opponent. And the saddest part is that I don’t need the variety of weapons and match types that are on there..”

She can’t help but shrug and fold her arms over her chest. Her face covered in her black warpaint.

”I can do it by simply being me. But, that being said this week on Climax control I defend MY roulette title against a woman whose name is perhaps the most closely related to it. See while Samantha Marlowe has held other titles in this company. Most specifically the world bombshells title. But, this one, this one is the championship that everyone else thinks of when they see Sams name, and likewise, when they see this championship, most people think...Samantha Marlowe..”

Johanna holds up the Sin city wrestling roulette championship, her fingers wrapping around the main faceplate, pointing right at her name on the nameplate at the bottom.

”It is a hell of a thing Sam, being able to be so closely linked with a championship. And, I know most people are wondering why I am not taking offense to you asking for a title shot. And this right here illustrates my point. See, Jesse Salco whined her way into one, you, you challenged me, and you have earned it not only through your recent successes but also because of that name. And if I want to be a champion that people can respect then I should face the woman who is the face of the Roulette title. The woman who is tied for most reigns, but who has over six hundred days as champion, the most defences in a single reign and also the most defences combined.”

“It’s a hell of a record and a great career and while I usually like to get in the mind of my opponents with you I really can’t say anything negative about it. I mean, my god Samantha I can’t even fault you for calling me out. That takes guts. It takes real bravery to call out a woman like me. As good as you are you also have to be smart and know that facing me isn’t like facing a lot of the other women that you have been in the ring with.”

“And part of me hoped that they would delay this match after what happened last week. Wait until after the holidays.”

“After what happened to you and Sierra at the hands of Tempest I thought, well I thought you might need a few weeks to recover. See a beating like that is bad, a beating like that can definitely stop you from being your best. And if you aren’t at your best against me Sam, well, you’re in trouble. Hell, you said it against Sierra, you wanted her best right? That’s what I want from you, I want you at your best because Samantha Marlowe, one hundred percent, well that’s dangerous.”

Johanna smirks and raises an eyebrow pacing back and forth seemingly excited about the match.

”And I want that Sam, I want to go into this match on my toes. I want to be known as a great champion, and to do that I need to beat someone like you. I have beaten the loudmouth dregs, I have beaten the former champions. But now, well now I need to beat the woman who made the Roulette title a prize to begin with. And yes, that is you Samantha.”

“You are the roulette division.”

“You are a future hall of famer”

“And I am going to take advantage of that. That’s why I went out of my way to accept this match Sam, to use you. And while it is putting my title at risk, cause clearly you know how to win it and are an expert at it, the real winners in life are those that follow the high risk high reward mindset. So I will put this championship on the line against the face of it, I win and I get to add your name proudly next to former Bombshells champions like Seleana and Roxi….I get to say I beat the most prolific Roulette champion of all time...while I then go on...to break every single one of your records…see you Sunday…”

Everyone has a price

The last few weeks had been moving so fast. Johanna and Gustav has set up the new forward operations base. A large warehouse in downtown Berlin had been bought, set up and decked out in all the latest equipment. As well as manpower. Johanna smiles, her heart was full of hope. This was a younger Johanna, a woman who had not yet lost that sparkle in her eyes, who believed in the police department and everything they were doing. She had officially transferred to the STF, working under Gustav. She saw the budget, the shiny new toys. And the back up. A few weeks ago there was no one else. It was just the two of them. Now the warehouse was full. Lines of men and women going over intel, watching live limiters. Doing patrols.

This is what Johanna had wanted. All those months ago when she started looking into the cracks that had formed in her mind when it came to the conduct of her fellow officers and superiors. And now she had it at her fingertips. But the last week or so, Gustav had been acting different. He was disinterested and quiet. Others had taken over. It confused Johanna, he had been the other driving force of this. And now he seemed to have pulled back.

Johanna folded her arms over her chest and moved across the main floor, she weaved in between the lines of monitors and recording devices. Her blue eyes looked up at the main office. The one she and Gustav shared. She moved up the stairs as quietly as she could. Her hand reaching out to the long silver door handle. She moved in and closed the door lightly behind her. Gustav sat at his desk, a hand up holding his cheek while the other flipped through a page of reports. Jo shook her head moving to the window next to her desk. It looked down onto the parking lot, she moved her head to the side as the sun caught something in the building across the way.

A camera. And it was facing the office. Johanna took a sharp breath in but kept calm. She tried to act natural and slowly turned looking over at Gustav. ”Sargeant. We are being watched.” Gustav looked up, he tilted his head looking unsurprised. It caught Johanna off guard. Gustav got to his feet and sighed heavily.

”I know. I asked them to.” Johanna shook her head trying to comprehend what he just said. She stuttered and stammered. Before she could get out a word Gustav moved around his desk sitting on the edge folding his arms over his chest. ”We have a leak Jo. A bad one” Her heart sank, why was this happening? Why can’t people feel the way she does? She moved over to the other side of the office looking down at the others. ”I don’t know who they are yet. There’s few people I can trust. I need footage and pictures of anyone in this office…”

Johanna stayed quiet. Her eyes darting between the columns of officers. She felt the paranoia raise up. What if they got information out of her?. What if she was inadvertently responsible? How did you find out?” Ge sighed heavily. She knew it was bad. His body language, his tone. All of it.

Gustav turned his laptop around. On it was I formation, pictures, documents. Johannas eyes widened. Gustav looked down and his hands placed flat on his desk, either side of the laptop. ”Last week, cybercrimes flagged these. They were se t from an unprotected server, these are pictures of documents only found in this office…” Johanna took a sharp breath in, her hands shook with anger as she tried to keep her voice down.

”That is my desk! My handwriting in the margins!. My files” Sge growled in anger. She paced back and forth before storming towards the door. Gustav stopped in front of her. Blocking her from the door down to the pit. ”Sargeant I-“ Ge put his hand up and shook his head slowly.

His hand over to her shoulder. Johanna started to calm down, Gustav shook his head and looked around before pulling her into a hug. ”I get it kid. I do.” His voice softened, it calmed Jo down. Her heart stopped racing and her body stopped being so tense. She stepped back and turned looking at her desk. ”I wanted to wait to tell you till I was sure…” Sure?

Her eyebrows furrowed down, she turned back to him looking sideways. ”Sure of what? That I wasn’t the leak?” She moved forward, angry again. Her head tilted sideways. ”You think I would do that? Turn on you and us?” She hissed the words, she was furious Gustav put his hands up and sighed.

”No….” He stepped forward, his head shook from side to side. ”Constable, you have put your heart into this. I just, I wanted to be sure we had a leak do I wasn’t hurting you.” It hit her, but she understood. She was in deep. She didn’t do anything else. She came to work, looked over files, went home, slept, and then woke up to do it all again. She turned back again and leaned in the table grinding her teeth before looking up and out the window again.

”Tell me how to find them...tell me you have a plan..”

Fluke

It has been a rough few weeks. Losses happen in wrestling. Everyone feels the sting of disappointment. But it was a rare feeling for the members of Wolfslair in SCW. Johanna took a long deep breath, she was covered in sweat from working out and was taking moments to reflect on everything.

”Three weeks ago, I stepped in the ring for a match that I should have won. And I know, so many of you will talk shit about me and say that it’s simply sour grapes or me being a sore loser. But serious question, who likes losing?.hmm?. Who likes losing in an industry that rewards winners? Where did this gracious loser bullshit come from? I mean, I can take a loss. I can take being beaten in snatch by someone with skills who in the light was better than me. And losses like that are a learning experience that I can handle and I can say that Iearned that loss.”

“But that match, three weeks ago against Jessie Salco, Johanna Krieger should have walked out of that match as the Roulette champion. That isn’t arrogance or sour grapes. That is a fact. But, I’m going to give Jessie a little bit of respect. Or Atleast I would have. Until she opened her fucking mouth.”

“You see, I was going to talk about how Jessie thought that everything that she wanted and was able to take advantage of the fact no one thought she was going to win, to win. She caught me off guard with how tough she actually was and despite the fact I punched her in the face over and over again, despite the fact that I tried to break every single bone in her body, she kept coming. Jessie Salco is tougher than I gave her credit for and on that night, Climax Control 282, on the 18th of October she created a goddamn miracle.”

“Jessie Salco beat Johanna Krieger.”

“And the world rejoiced. Well, some did. But these people were not sharing and celebrating because they wanted to see you win. No Jessie. They were celebrating because they were happy to see me lose. Because the group that I’m in, the excellence that we hold ourselves to, it makes people so sick. They hate us, they want us to fail and to fall. And for a brief moment you were able to make all their little dreams come true.”

Johanna smiles and shakes her head with a small sigh under her breath before clasping her hands together.

”Three weeks ago, you sealed your fate. I was always going to come back after that championship. From the second I lost it, I wanted it back. And before I get into how the world now sees you and how you’ve been able to flip the script, let me just point out a few things. When my stablemate Alicia Lukas lost the bombshells championship both times, she healed from her injuries picked herself up and came back with a renewed sense of vigor and respect. She wanted that title back, and she did the best she could do it. And she did, she showed how tenacious she could be.”

“But…”

“That isn’t what I’m about.“

“I’m not about simply coming back as a better version of myself, not in this instance. That’s how I felt against song, and when I beat RoxI. No Jessie. Against you it’s about making a statement. I took you to easily last time because I thought I was gonna breeze over you and I underestimated you. I underestimated your toughness, I underestimated your luck, and I underestimated the fact that my own hubris was going to get me in some serious shit. But this time? This time it’s about causing you as much pain as I physically can in the amount of time that I’m given until you either quit, okay no longer continue, all the referee thinks he’s seen enough.”

“That is what you have this time. That is what you have to face this time. And before you start to talk about it being an empty threat, realise who you are talking to. If you go back and watch that match we beat me Jessie, I was causing you serious pain, and I was going easy on you. I felt bad for you. And in the end, that is what allows you to beat me. That is why I call it a fluke.”

Johanna paces back and forth as she grows angrier her accent seems to get stronger.

”And that had been my plan all along. Right up until two weeks ago. When you took issue with me getting a rematch. Saying I should EARN it. And then, last week you doubled down. You ran your mouth, and I felt the need to come out and get in your face. Now, you pointed out Seleana didn’t get a rematch. . and at that point, well I realise that you did have a good point. She didn’t get a rematch, but if she wanted one, she would’ve got one. But she didn’t. She didn’t come to me and ask for one, she didn’t go to Marcal Christian and ask for one, she dropped back. And there’s many different reasons why that could’ve happened but the main one is that she didn’t want to go up against me again. She did not want me to destroy her again, the other reason is personal, she’s been looking after her wife who got completely annihilated.”

“So while it may have been a good point to you, and while you may have thought you were pointing out a reason why I shouldn’t get a rematch, what you were really doing is reminding everyone that I beat a former bombshells champion so bad that she didn’t want any more of me.“

“And all you were doing, was pissing me off. You beg and played for championship opportunities and title shots and matches all the time, I’m wondering how many times you have called for a championship match, got the opportunity and lost. How many times have you been put in a match that you have lost. You have the worst record of any active bombshell on the goddamn roster. But, you end up winning a few matches and think that suddenly you can dictate what we do and don’t do? You beat Maki, then me and suddenly the world bends to Jessie Salco?. All those people, the ones who are happy about you beating me. After they heard what you had to say, and they saw how you acted, a lot of those voices suddenly went silent. Congratulations, you made me, one of the most unlikable bitches in this company, seem more sympathetic than you the perennial under dog. Good work bonehead.”

“But he is the worst part about all of it..”

She pauses, shaking her head slowly before calming herself down.

”I understand.”

She nods and shrugs before holding her arms over her chest with a deep breath.

”For you this is probably the best it’s going to get. At this point in your career with how everyone has treated you and the joke that you have actually become through your own and net actions and stupidity, this is the best chance you have to make a lasting impression on the fans and everyone backstage. This is your last chance to claw back any type of credibility that you think you deserve. So you are milking it for all it is worth my running your mouth any chance you can get. The compulsion is there Jessie I understand I really do. With that being said, just because I understand and I can see where you are coming from and why you’re doing this, it doesn’t mean a dam thing when I get in that ring with you this week. I was never gonna go easy on you, I was never going to give you a break, I was always going to try and beat you and take that championship and make you suffer. But your actions, your words, your incessant whining and not even understanding what a real champion is?”

“That is damaging to yourself, the championship, and the company. Why do you think Fenris gave me praise for straightaway challenging you?. Because that is the definition of real recognising real. And no one recognises you was real Jessie.. Because everything about you is fake. Fake confidence,, fake attitude, fake friends. All of it. In fact the only thing real about you is the fact that you can take a beating, and that’s not even something that you actually care about. Because instead of focusing on the fact that you keep coming and you keep trying and telling everyone about heart you have, you promised wins upon wins. So when you eventually do get on people don’t care because they hate what you’ve become. And you are going to hate what I do to you this week when I take back my title. Good luck because you were going to need it…”

Cut the head off the snake

Gustav has been gone for hours. The third day that he and Johanna have been working together, his office faking paperwork to give Hohanna “paid leave”. She had been doing surveillance work and reading files non-stop. Learning about members of her own department and their extracurricular activities and lives. The fact that almost everyone she worked with, everyone she trusted had in fact been involved made her stomach turn. At best they turned a blind eye, at worst they were involved and profited off crime.

This was against everything she was raised to be and believe in. Since she was a child Johanna had been told and taught that the police was the best of the best. Citizens that believed in law and order. That wanted to protect people weaker than them. That’s what she had in her heart and mind as she grew up and went through school and graduated before setting off to the academy.

But this was where ideals and loyalty came to die.

The last few months had been hard. Feeling that she was alone in a sea of sharks. Having to watch her own back and thinking that everyone was out to get her and that no one believed her. When Gustav had approached her a few days ago it was a relief. Knowing someone not only believed her but was already a few steps ahead. He knew who she was and knew what she was about. It was support and help that she had needed since all this started. But there was a downside. The last few eats it had just been them. No one else. Gustav said others were working the case, but for security reasons they operated in cells. She wanted to believe him. To believe in him.

But not seeing anyone else, not communicating with other officers. There was a fear that they were the only two. That they were alone. But, this morning something happened. Gustav got a phone call that seemed to disturb him. He grabbed some files, he stuttered and left telling Johanna he’s be back and closing the door. And now here she was, hours later, sitting in the apartment flicking through files and staring at the various monitoring equipment.

The door clicked. Johannas eyes turned and moved towards the door, her hand drifted over to a weapon, her thumb clicking the safety off. The door opened and it was Gustav. He held a white box in his hands as he shut the door behind him looking over at Johanna. ”Good news bad news kid” Johanna raises an eyebrow as Gustav dropped the box on the table. He leaned on top of it with a grin ”We are going into a bigger apartment. We’ll be getting some help….but….we have more reading.” He smiles a tapped the top of the box. Johanna raises an eyebrow and sat back folding her arms over her chest

”A bigger apartment? Back up? What happened?” She was suspicious. Where had he been? What happened for them to get all this extra help? It had to be something. ”There’s something you’re not telling me.” Johanna got to her feet moving around to the box of paperwork and files. She pulled one out opening it up before dropping it and looking over at Gustav ”These are closed personnel files….Interpol investigations...how did you get access to these?”

Gustav just smiled and cleared his throat before pulling out his phone flicking through it. Johannas phone buzzed and she pulled it out reading through the information. ”Krieger, welcome to the CPTF. Corruption Prevention Task Force...I didn’t come up with the name, don’t read into it.” He laughed and picked the box up loving it over to the door before starting to pack up the equipment.

A wave of relief washed over her. It was official. A group to break down and cut out the corruption. This may be the first time in months she allowed herself to have hope. She let out a long sigh and got to her feet starting the clean up. Gustav seemed like a man possessed, he loved and packed fast. Johanna matches him with speed. They had work to do.

”Fucking Jesse Salco”

A pair of hands with black painted nails dragged down a hardwood table taking some of the varnish off. Johanna Krieger very slowly takes a deep breath and closes her eyes.

”Before I talk about anything else. I have to ask Mark Ward. Christian Underwood. What the hell did Jesse Salco ever do to either of you?”

She pauses raising her eyebrows with her shoulders. A genuine look of concern in her face

”Think about it. A few months ago I signed my SCW contract. I entered this company and the stacked bombshells division barely felt a ripple. I conquered the mixed tag division with Alex and again, barely a ripple on a calm lake. The entire time I was taking out bombshells left and right. And now, after that long road I am officially the roulette champion after adding Seleana Zdunich to my list of former bombshells champions that have fallen in my wake. And trust me on this. Seleana won’t be the last.”

“And while I’m on the subject of the now turner Roulette champion, I’ll admit that at Violent conduct she brought a fight to me. But then again, it’s amazing the kind of fight or flight chemical reaction you have when you’re standing in and bring that surrounded by flames. I personally didn’t care, I knew I wasn’t going in the flames and I also knew that Seleana didn’t have what it took to burn another human being. It takes a special kind of beast to enjoy the smell of burning human flesh...yet I did…”

“I don’t care what kind of match I defend this championship in. I’ll do whatever it takes.“

“I don’t care if it’s another inferno match, I don’t care if it’s something to do with barbwire or glass, I don’t care if it’s a submission match, a false account anyway match, cage match. An electrified cage match. whatever the wheel lands on, it just gives me more chaos to play with. And that is the name of the game. I told Seleana that this title was tailor made for me, chaos. And if they want me to defend the championship every single week, I wouldn’t care. But they’ll  very slowly start to run out of challengers. Because after a bombshell gets in the ring with me, especially in a match as brutal as some of them, they will be changed forever and won’t want to do it again.”

Johanna can’t help but chuckle. She pushes off the table and folds her arms over her chest.

”Which brings me to Jesse Salco.”

She pauses again and takes a long deep breath.

”Jesse fucking Salco. The broken record of the bombshells division. The woman who is more championship hungry than all of us in Wolfslair yet someone who is currently starving. But it’s always someone else right Jesse? It’s always you versus the world. But you will always, always talk about beating your opponent like the thought of losing never enters your empty little head. Every single week Salco, you spout off and guarantee victory. Now, I get it. I get why you do it. You want to put forward a mask of confidence. You want to say you’ll beat everyone before the match…”

“The issue is that ninety nine percent of the time, you lose. You beat Maki, and the whole world looked shocked. Hell Jesse I was shocked. I applauded because you fi ally lived up to a guarantee. But again Jesse look how shocked eeeyone was. Do you know how bad it has to be the people that surprised when you actually win a match? Most match ups in sin city wrestling people can still see the possibility of anyone winning the match, so they can be upset but there is a difference between say, Jack Washington beating Alex Jones, and you beating Maki.”

“And after beating her, you now have a roulette championship match against me. And part of me wants to believe it is that when I got you this championship opportunity Jesse. I mean that makes sense right? So you win one high-profile match and suddenly get a championship title opportunity? No that doesn’t make sense. You didn’t earn a shot at this championship.”

“So, if you didn’t earn it...why did you get it?”

Her eyes narrow and her arms stay folded across her chest as a small smirk curls her top lip up.

” that’s why I asked Kristian and Mark at the beginning of this, what did you do to piss them off Jesse? You had to go through that horrible match with Maki, and you escape it, so now you’ve been put in a Roulette championship match with me. And as I said, on the surface it looks like you’re being rewarded. A title opportunity, a chance for you to finally capture some gold and live up to all those guarantees that week after week and match after match you decide to try and make. A chance for you to finally live up to the potential that you apparently have that no one else can see. But you scratch the surface dig a little deeper you find something a little bit more nefarious don’t you Jesse?”

“Who in their right mind would want to go into a match against me? Let alone a match that could end up being any type of rules on a spinning wheel.“

“I know that you will come into this match with all of the heart and effort that we know you exude every single week. But the problem is Jesse, that you do have that effort every single week. You do put your heart into every single match. And it has got you nowhere. All you have to do is stop, study, and learn. When you lose the match don’t ignore it, studies, make sure what you did never happens again. If you’re coming up against a opponent that you know is dangerous and one of the best in the world, don’t ignore that fact and lean away from it and talk a mad amount of shit and put forth that you think you’re the better wrestler. Because every single piece of evidence shows the opposite to that.”

“Be honest with yourself, look inside and question why you were going to lose the match and then try and beat it within. And if that doesn’t work, like it won’t work when it comes to facing me, then you take your beating like a real woman, you pull your pants up, go to the back, and try it all over again. That is the only thing that’s going to happen here Jesse, because you are facing someone who is better than you. Or more dangerous than you. And someone who has absolutely positively no mercy.”

What are you doing Johanna?

The words ran through her brain. Every single breath she took seemed rushed. She swallowed hard and closed her eyes, misting rain keeping the air damp and cold around her. It was the end of winter, coming into the beginning of spring. The rains had eased up but they were still wearing their ugly head when it was time for her to go out and investigate.

It had been two months since she has been here. Last time she was sitting in the back of the van, slowly staring up and down at different monitors from different cameras. It was the night that everything changed. The night when her faith in her job and her department had become shaken. Her father had told her to let it go, he told her why gave her reasons and even begged her.

She couldn’t.

She didn’t even know who she could trust. She couldn’t trust Jonas, she couldn’t trust her superintendent, clearly. There were so many friends she had in the department, so many people who she thought were good people, good offices. People who like her believed in justice and the righteous work that she was supposed to do. In Johannas mind there was a thin blue line separating what she did and what criminals did.

But now she questioned who had stepped over that line?.

So, she went out alone. It was just past 8 pm, and here she was down on one knee, her head slowly peeking around the old brick walls corner facing the warehouse door. Earlier that day she had done something that many would consider to be unethical bordering on illegal. She had gone in to a colleague‘s office, she had opened his desk and looked at local information. Intelligence on a rumored meeting at this warehouse. She should have got back up. She should have told someone she was going to be here. The paranoia had gotten to her, she looked at her phone she had flicked through names people who she had known for years, people who she trained with. People who at one point or another had her life in their hands.

It was terrifying.

She took a sharp breath in, a van slowly pulling up out the front of the warehouse. The light stayed on and then flickered three times in a distinct pattern. Johanna jumped another van that she is not even her drive up behind her flash the lights in a similar pattern. She moved backwards behind the wall, her hand shaking as she touched the brick. She was wearing a tight fitting black hoodie, the hood up over her head. Black bandanna tied around her face and tucked into the top and black jeans. She hoped this makeshift outfit would help keep her hidden.

Three men got out of the first van while two men got out of the other. She recognised one of them. She swallowed hard and shook her head so hard dropping down to the bottom of her stomach. She tried to keep down the anger, she tried to keep down the frustration. It was Jonas. Three men got out of the first van while two men got out of the second. She recognised one of them. She swallowed hard and shook her head and heart dropping down to the bottom of her stomach. She tried to keep down the anger, she tried to kick down the frustration. It was Jonas.

Officer Jonas Shultz. A man who had volunteered to team with Johanna. The man who was sitting next to her when they had seen another fellow officer at this very warehouse. He was in on it all along. She knew there was something, she knew there was a chance he was involved. But this broke her heart. They moved through the small entrance across the path and up into the warehouse the second the door closed Johanna made her move.

She moved along the grass, keeping low under the window and stepping lightly. She heard them move from the first room pushing the door open to follow, moving along the floor to stop right under the Foreman's window and listen in. “Do you have the customs paperwork?” It was Jonas speaking, stepping forward and holding out his hand.

Another man, the one who was driving the second van stepped forward and pulled out some paperwork handing it to him. “Here. I signed off on it. When the truck rolls in next week we can unload and wave through.”

Jonas smiled flicking through the first few pages before coming to the end seeing the signature. “Good. The merchandise will get out to where we need it. We need one pallet marked. We need an arrest...so we flipped a coin.” He laughed, so did the others. Johanna felt like she was going to throw up. She moved back and turned to slide out the door closing it behind her. She moved back behind the warehouse sitting on the grass outside the hand shaking she brought them up to her mouth.

She felt horrible, members of her division, of her unit, they were bringing in something illegal. Something big. And they were preparing to make an arrest through everyone else of the Trail. This was corruption at the highest level. Everything she fought against everything she hated. Tears welled up in her eyes, she pulled out her wallet looking at her badge, her fingertips slowly going over the lettering. Over her picture.

She remembered the day it was taken. How happy she was. How proud her father was. But now it meant nothing. She couldn’t trust anyone, she couldn’t go to anyone. She had already been attacked once. Everything she knew, everything she loved, was now dead to her.

But it was going to get so much worse…

Spin the wheel.

“Well that is more like it.“

Johanna Krieger steps forward. Her arms folded over her chest and head tilt slightly to the side with a smirk twisted on her black painted lips.

“After beating Johnson, I thought maybe my career would start to take an upswing. I thought that I would stop being noticed and recognised. That I would get a little bit of respect around here and maybe even some fear. And make no mistake ladies all of you who are in the bombshells division need to fear me. So, after going through that match with Johnson I ended up being overlooked for the bombshell battle royal. It pissed me off, it made me want to punch someone. But I suppose I understand. Since city wrestling needed other great names in that match like… Jesse Salco…”

As she says Jessie‘s name it hisses through her teeth. Joanna shakes her head taking a few breaths to calm down before she explodes.

“I make my feelings known, and Austin and I end up teaming together against the black sheep. And even though that match didn’t go the way we wanted it, and Ryans is a cheating douche bag. It was still an opportunity. Because we were facing people who held the highest championships in this company who are still relevant . That’s all I ever wanted, an opportunity to match the effort that I have clearly put into this company. I got it against Johnson, I got it against the black sheep, and now I’m getting it in this match.”

“You see the winner, gets to go onto violent conduct and face the roulette champion.“

“And Seleana Zdunich. Well she is a scalp worthy of a challenge. A former bombshells champion. The current roulette champion and someone who I believe is criminally underrated. The opposite to one of my opponents in this match. Mercedes Vargas. But, The roulette championship seems to be something that is right up my alley. It’s a championship where the rules are not properly defined until before the match with use of a freaking wheel. Its total chaos.”

“And I do love chaos“

Johanna can’t help but give a small laugh and her breath as she unfollowed her arms, her hand sliding to the front pockets of her torn black jeans.

“My opponents though, they could not be more different. Not just different from me but different from each other. And out of the three of us, I will say that mine is the promotional material that you should really be listening to. My words should carry weight, what I say and what I do will shape the future of the bombshells division in sin city wrestling. And I’m gonna save you all about 20 minutes. 20 minutes that you can do something else with in your lives. 20 minutes to read a book, catch up on your favourite television show, listen to some music. Do whatever you like but I’m going to give you 20 minutes right now. “

“You see, if you wait around for Mercedes Vegas to finally say something about this match and put any promotional material out on social media you are going to be waiting for a long time. Because Mercedes Vargas  likes to take as much time as she can to put out the same thing week in and week out. She will sort it in with her over inflated ego talking about all of the great things that she has done in the past. Letting us all know about the bombshells championship rains, the roulette championship rains, the fact that she has the most wins in the company and all the other stuff that she’s been able to build up over the exorbitant amount of time that she has been taking up a roster spot in this company.”

“I’m not gonna lie and say that Mercedes Vegas is not a good professional wrestler because she is. She might be one of the best ever. But she also happens to be an egotistical moron.”

“Case in point, she wants to talk shit about Jesse Salco and her losing streak in sin city. Hell I like to do that. But has Mercedes been setting the world on fire lately? A few wins here and there yes but has she been able to get herself into contention for anything? Here she is with another championship match opportunity. She beats myself and Barnhart and she gets to go to the roulette title. Right after she had her chance at getting a bombshells title shot in that battle royal that I wasn’t even in.”

“Yet she wants to accuse sin city wrestling of having favouritism towards Alicia. Pot meet kettle. And I don’t just mean because of the connotation Mercedes, it’s also because you’re dumb as a lump of iron….”

She can’t help but scoff and shake her head. But her nostrils flare as she turns back to the camera thinking about the other part of this match.

”Now, I saved you a little bit of boredom from Mercedes and her usual self aggrandising bullshit. Now we go to Bea Barnhart. If you want to go and watch one of her promos then you can go right ahead. I’m sure you’ll all enjoy Bill and Bea Barnhart's cavalcade of bad comedy and bullshit political takes that no one cares about.”

“And I would say that maybe they both need to focus more on what they are good at but wrestling is definitely not what they are good at. Hell Bea was another one of those women who got a shot in the battle royal and failed miserably after promising she was going to be declared the winner. So here’s another spoiler on what you’re going to see from the Barnharts and her stupid promo this week. I’m gonna save you another 20 minutes, that means you all owe me 40.”

“You are going to see bad comedy, followed by a lot of promises that she cannot possibly keep. With veiled threats. And that is what she does, her stupid, fat headed, ugly husband is going to be floating around somewhere in there. Along with the dog which probably has way better personal hygiene. And then on climax control both of them are going to get in the ring with me, Mercedes with her outdated skill set and ego that needed to be checked at the door so she actually could be anything more than a joke. And Bea Barnhart with her unfocused stupidity where she doesn’t even know where she is half the time. And I’m gonna beat the hell out of both of them, I’m going to go onto violent conduct, and I am going to face Seleana for the roulette championship. And claim my first, and definitely not last singles championship.”

I’m not paranoid

It was her fourth day in a row sitting at her desk. The order coming down after her superiors found out she was attacked. Her father told her not to report it, her father had told her just to let it go. But she couldn’t. She couldn’t just let it lay where it was, she couldn’t just forget. But she told them, she filled out the paperwork. And because of that Johanna now had to sit at her desk and fill her days with mindless busy work.

Reports came in, information on arrests and charges and everything that she was involved in before all of this happened. She sifted through the paperwork sitting it to the side looking for any abnormalities while she was supposed to be filing it. She was looking for names and dates and anything that looks familiar that could lead her to exactly what was going on. She had to keep the anger buried; she had to keep it deep down at the bottom of her stomach. Every single time someone looked at her the thought ran through her brain, were they judging her?.

The police were much like any other organisation that was closed off. People would talk, rumours and innuendo spread like wildfire. And in a situation like this where there was evidence and paperwork to show that she had indeed been attacked, in the parking lot of the precinct no less, all of that ran wild. Rumors as to why questions of who and what and where. All questions that Jo wanted answered herself. Her eyes moved from her desk up to the clock sitting above the doorway to the main hall. The hands seemed to not even be moving. She only had a few minutes to go on her shift, then she could go home, crack open a fresh beer and do what she had been doing every night since it happened and drink until she fell asleep.

It wasn’t right.

it wasn’t healthy.

The doubts had started to creep in. How far did this go? How deep was this rabbit hole?. They had got to her father, they had got to her. She hated the idea that there was corruption in the police, but of course she wasn’t naive to the fact that these things happened. In her four years rising through the ranks she had not seen it to this level.

There was one person in her division who had been caught stealing evidence and selling it on the street. He was caught, he was put through the legal process, and he was fired and then sent to jail. It was right, it was justice, and it made her feel good about her job and the organisation.

But all that pride, all that love, it had melted away over the last couple of days. Not just with her mindless drone work, but also with all of the theories and feelings going through her mind. It was maddening. If she knew she would have a target, a moment, she could formulate a plan and know who to trust and what to do. But not knowing? She felt like she had a target on her back, everyone was her enemy and everyone was a spy. Everyone was ready to betray her at any moment. It’s not paranoia if it’s true right?

She had zoned out.

She didn’t even hear Officer Mueller walk you behind her. But as he reached out and touched her shoulder Johanna jumped out of her skin. “Whoa, apologies Krieger. I said hello but you seemed off.” Johanna took a deep breath and gave a lighthearted smile waving it off.

“It’s ok. I was just thinking.” And she had been, it wasn’t a lie, she was just stretching the truth not letting him in on what was on her mind. The paranoia of it all and even now knowing and feeling that this man, someone she had trusted her life to out on the streets, someone who had helped her arrest criminals could be one himself. She swallowed hard and slowly got to her feet realising the time. The shift was over, it was time to go home. Has she gathered I think she slipped a few papers into her hand, a few names had seemed familiar to her, places and dates.

Officer Muller stepped back and gave her not his eyes trailing down to the papers, and then she saw it his eye twitched, the corner of his mouth moved before sliding back up into his easy-going smile. A chill went up her spine. The next few seconds seemed like hours before officer Muller tilted his head, took a step back and spoke “Have a good night Krieger. See you tomorrow”

Johanna swallowed hard and gave him a polite smile and nod moving out towards the door. One hand gripping the papers, the other on her sidearm. No one was going to jump her again.

Does wrestling matter?

“I guess wins against Roxi Johnson don’t mean as much as she...or I..believe.”

Johanna Kriegers voice cuts through the darkness as everything comes into view. Her eyes light up as her mouth twists into an evil looking smirk.

“See, a few weeks ago I stood in the ring ready for the biggest match of my SCW career. Alex and I lost the mixed tag team titles, I was alone in a match. The training wheels taken off as it were. And if you look at my SCW career, and only my SCW career, I have been impressive. And I don’t think anyone can dispute that.”

“A championship, wins over some of the best. A brutal match with Song.”

“But all of it came to a head when I stood in the ring looking Roxi right in the eye. It was the first real test in Sin City against a sin city legend one on one. And I passed with flying colours. One on one with a former world champion and when the match was said and done I had my hand raised because Roxi Johnson made a small tap….”

“I made. A former bombshells champion. Tap.”

She can’t help but laugh with a small shake of her head. Her long blonde hair tied up high in a bun. Johanna looking more natural than usual. Instead of wearing make up and her ear pain with black leather it’s just Jo. No make up. Normal street clothes.

“I feel as if this isn’t being talked about enough. I don’t want to sound egotistical, but the truth is that my accomplishment and the threat that I possess and show in this division is being swept over and ignored. All of the talk is about Alicia going up against Jordan for the third time. All this talk about things that happened in that battle royal like Candy getting hurt, and Kiera going nuts and snapping. Meanwhile I took her wife, a woman who is a bigger legend than most people give her credit for, and I beat her in the middle of the ring.”

“I wasn’t even in that battle royal. I didn’t get a chance to earn a shot at Jordan.”

“And now, here I am a few weeks later and I’m in a tag match with former world champions on both sides of the ring. I get to team with Austin James Mercer, and I just want you all to think about that. I got to win the championships with Alex Jones the current world champion, and now I get to team with a man who burst onto the scene in sin city and became the world champion beating one of the most dominant men to ever stepped foot in this company. Because that’s what we do in Wolfslair, apparently.”

She can’t help but smile again, her arms holding over her chest.

“And Austin and I will be a very intimidating team. But with that being said I can’t just stand here and guarantee victory. Because Austin and I aren’t facing a team like say, the Trenton Tigers, no we have to go up against the black sheep. And as much as I do not like to he prays on a team all you have to do is look at the combination, look at their accomplishments, and realise that if you do not respect what they have done you’re going to be in for a long night.“

“Truth be told Austin James Mercer going one on one with Kristipher Ryans would be a main event at any climax control, any paper view, and at any company in North America or most places around the world.”

“And then, there’s the other side of it.“

“Mikah and myself. I would look like a complete idiot if I stood here and sing the praises of Mrs Johnson and completely ignored what Mikah brings to the table. Three bombshells championship rains, two of which were for an incredible amount of time. Now I will hear a lot of people use stupid excuses about her and say that she’s been out of the game for so long and that she didn’t have strong opponents and that the bombshells division now is better than it was back then.”

“Just rampant stupidity.“

Johanna raises her eyebrows with a smile her shoulder shrugging up and down as she laughs under her breath again stepping forward. Her large tattooed arms relaxing by her sides as the top corner on the left side of her lips curls upwards again

“I’m not the usual bombshell that you will see in this company. I watch, I study, I know how strong I am physically, I know how good I can be in that ring. But I’ve watched as people like me have come into a company like this full of arrogance and they’ve been beaten by their own ego. You won’t get that with me. And that is what makes me dangerous. While I can freely acknowledge and talk about the fact I am dangerous dangerous woman, that I’m strong, skilled, smart and I also know that there are people who can beat me.“

“Based on her history, Mikah is one of those people.”

“But, what if Austin and I win?. Austin gets to beat another former world champion and remind everyone that he is a 6 foot six wrecking machine. And I get to add yet another former bombshells champion to my list. And this isn’t personal, I’m not gonna go out there to try and rip her apart or embarrass her or destroy her. I’m gonna go out there to make a statement. At climax control Austin and I are going to show just how good we can be.”

et it go

It hurt. The back of her heads, it throbbed in pain. She was able to drive, barely. But she probably shouldn’t have. The street lights above looking blurry causing her eyes to hurt and her brain to flare. Johanna needed to get to her parents houser. Talk to her father. Tell him what happened. Truth be told she should have gone to the hospital. She should have called people she trusted ands given a statement. She knew the procedures, she knew she could go to internal affairs. But, there was part of Johanna that now trusted no one. That now hated the process.

She turned her car down her parents street pulling up out the front, Everything felt off, her moto functions labored, her legs didn’t want to moe or cooperate. But she did it, she was able to take her keys from the ignition, open the door and stand up.

She took a step forward and almost stumbled. She could hear her footsteps rattling in her mind as her heavy black boots hit the concrete, she could feel her heart beating faster as her body reacted to the stress of what was obviously now a concussion. She could hear her own breathing become labored along with her heart. Johanna could feel consciousness slipping, she could see the black curtain rolling down over her eyes. Gravity was not her friend, and for a split second she felt as if she was going to fall forward.

Something stopped her.

The will to keep going. Each step, each movement was agony. She was able to get to the door reaching out and turning it. She moved into the main hallway, she could hear her mother and father talking in the kitchen, they heard the door close and the voices lowered, suddenly becoming like whispers. Johanna was confused, she had no idea why. Her hands finding the wall as she heard her mothers voice. [color-pink]”Johanna, is that you dear?” She couldn’t muster much of an answer. English escaped her.

”Ja, mutter” It barely made it out of her mouth. It must have sounded wrong, she could hear her father's footsteps from the tiles, the door swinging open. His face looking pale as a ghost as Johanna couldn't stay upright anymore. She slid forward, her father caught her.”Thank you….I will be alright.” Her words struggled. Her father shook his head and looked over at his wife who just swallowed hard looking horrified. She could hear their voices, she knew they were asking her questions. But for some reason, Johanna couldn’t understand or answer.

She felt herself being carried, moved through the house to the couch in her fathers den. There was more talking, arguing. Johannas eyes fluttered open. ”She needs a doctor, and we should call her partner’ Her mothers voices was louder than her fathers, he was speaking in a lower register, her mother threw her hands up, exasperated and angry storming out of the room. Johanna looked up and the vision started to clear, her father sat down next to her shaking his head.

”What happened?”

She shook it off and cleared here throat thinking back to a few hours before. The attack, the shot to the back of her head, the kick. All of it flooded in, the words, the voice. ”I was leaving, I was near my car and then...I got hit..I..” Her voice trailed off as she let out a groan and sat up, her father helping her by gripping her arm and handing her a glass of water. ”He told me to stop looking, he threatened me...this has something to do with the warehouse…” It all came back, Johanna went from confused to angry, her blood boiling as she reached for her cellphone, her father raising an eyebrow.

”Jo, what are you doing?” She dialled the number, he looked down recognising it. Suddenly her father reached forward snatching the phone from her hand. Johanna looked up, confused, turning her head. ”Think this through my girl. They already attacked you once, you need to wait till you can think clearly” Part of that made sense, but her father always wanted to do what was right, something seemed off…

Johanna swallowed hard and turned her legs from the couch putting them onto the hardwood floor, her hands moving to her knees as she set the water down on the small table beside her. ”I need to report this, I need to tell the superintendent, he should-”

”No” His volume startled her. Johannas father had always been measured and calm. But this was an undue and out of character outburst. Johanna swallowed as he got to his feet and paced back and forth holding her phone in his hand backspacing the numbers. He took a deep breath and swallowed hard. ”You need to let this go Johanna.”

His voice had calmed down, it was now its regular register. But Johanna couldn’t believe what she was hearing. To let go something that was clearly a corruption and an inside job, something was wrong. Her heart sank. Her father knew, he had to. ”Let it go? You know what’s going on, don’t you?” He stayed turned away from her. Johanna shook her head ands slumped back against the couch. She felt defeated, deflated, like her whole world had been a lie. Her father set her phone down on the table and sighed heavily.

His voice was how a whisper and she didn’t need to see it, but his lip had trembled. ”They...they took my pension Johanna…” Her jaw dropped, she had no idea what to say. His pension, his lifeblood. ”They said, if I could convince you to just leave it be...it would be reinstated...I had no idea they would…” His voice trailed off. Johanna stood up and finished his sentence.

”Attack me?”

There was a little more venom than she had planned, more force. Her father sighed and slowly turned around, his eyes were filled with sadness and remorse, he gave her a small nod and sat back against the edge of his desk. Johanna stepped forward and swallowed hard. ”I told them I was going to take care of it tonight...they obviously got impatient”

She ground her teeth together, her stomach, her heart, her brain, everything burned and boiled with anger. How could anyone do this? Treat her like this, her father like this? And how could he stand of it? ”Who is they?” Her eyes blazed, her father shook his head and reached down sliding her phone closer to her.

”It doesn’t matter Jo…..in the end...nothing does…”

A matter of time.

Her fingers gripped the green glass bottle. A trademark of the Heineken brand. Johanna lifted it to her lips taking a small sip, her black lipstick leaving a small smudge on the top of the bottle as she set it back down on the bench in front of her.Her fingertips danced along the bottle moving some of the concentration away.

”What is that old saying? No use crying over spilled milk?” Losing a championship isn’t exactly like spilled milk, but the point still stands. There is no point in crying over losing something, instead you should celebrate what you did with it and that you were actually able to become something greater than yourself. That’s how I feel about the mixed tag team championships that Alex and I won. We came into the company as a team and we were able to take those championships and make them mean something again. We didn’t let them fall into mediocrity like all the teams have done before us.“

“ he and I set out to do three things. To defend the championships more than anyone else, to hold those championships longer than anyone else, and to introduce the professional wrestling world at large to what I could do. Other companies had seen me, used me and put me out there. But Sin City was going to be the glorious place of my birth of dominance. We definitely accomplished one of those things having four defences. One more then Sierra and Lachlan”

“Unfortunately we were just over a week away from being able to say that we held the championships longer than anyone else, we came so close unfortunately we were just over a week away from being able to say that we held the championships longer than anyone else we came so close. but, if you remember through all of this, every single time I sat in front of a camera and I had the chance to share my thoughts and my feelings with the fans of sin city as well as the other women employed I told them what my plans were. I’ve never hidden them I’ve always been completely honest and completely transparent with what I want to do.”

She smiles and takes another sip of her beer, a small size escaping her lips as she puts the bottle back down on the bench. She gets to her feet and slowly moves her long blonde hair behind her ears, her bright blue eyes shining as she tilts her head slightly to the side.

”I want to become one of the greatest professional wrestlers on this planet, I want to show the world what I can do. Everyone wants to be able to be the best, everyone wants to be able to say that they’re the best. But very few people can prove it. Will I be able to? Who knows that’s what I’m here to find out. For the last few years I’ve sat back and I’ve trained and I’ve studied, I didn’t want to rush myself into anything, I didn’t want to join any large companies I was happy being in the smaller ones and paying my dues. But when Alex came to me and wanted me to join sincerely I jumped at the chance. I wanted to come here because I looked at the bombshells division and knew that not only could I be competitive, not only would I be tested, but I could be one of the best. When people think of wolfslair they think of Alicia as the best female in the gym. And the group.”

“And I won’t deny it, Alicia Lucas is one of the best professional wrestlers on this planet. But, is she the best in the group in the company? Just how good am I when it comes to all of that? Well, now is my time to prove it and to show just how good I can be.“

“Now is my chance to get in the ring with the best of the best, out of the confines and limitations of the mixed tag team division.“

“Now is my time to prove my worth, to see where I fit in this division. To earn my way up to any of the championships in this company. Whether that be the Internet, roulette, or the crown jewel of the bombshells division and sin city wrestling as a whole. And that path but I need to walk starts this week. And what a start it is, you say I’m not just facing some random name on the roster. I’m facing a bonafide legend.

Johanna laughs to herself shaking her head from side to side.

” I get to get in the ring against Roxi Johnson. A former bombshells champion, a woman who is known around the world for being one of the best professional wrestlers on the planet. A woman who will push you and test you and make you question whether or not you should even be in the same room as her. There are a lot of people in this company who would love to face Roxi, and there are some people in this company that would do everything they could to avoid facing Roxi. Now me? I’m in the first category I love the idea of being able to get in the ring with a woman like her. I may be cocky, I may be arrogant,I may think I can beat anyone in this company or any company.”

But, I also know when someone could beat me. And I am keenly aware that Roxi Could be me, and walk away smiling. I am fully aware of how good she is. Recently she was able to recapture the bombshells championship, it’s no easy feat, but she did it. And she’s always at the top of her card and always at the top of her game and truth be told there is always a certain amount of intimidation when you get in the ring with someone like her. But then again, with me you have the question of the unknown don’t you Roxi?”

“Sure, you’ve studied me, you’ve seen me tagging with Alex, you’ve seen me in a few singles matches against people like Bella Madison. But there’s always that question nagging at the back of your head, just how good is this woman?. Can she go? Or is she just talking blaster like some other women who have come into this company and phased out, fizzled and been gone?“

“Climax control, the question gets answered.“

“What does it mean for sin city? You see if I beat you Roxi, I get bragging rights and a new star is born. If I can prove that I am better than you on this night then suddenly a shudder goes up the spine of the entire division and they realise that there is a brand-new horror show coming for them. But if you beat me, and I put up a fight, then I just lost to a legend but show the world what I can do. I do respect you Roxi I hope you realise that, and I’m smart enough to know that as a veteran you know that I’ll be coming for you and that there is a large Target on your back, whether you are the champion or not your scalp is worth a hell of a lot.“

“But this is win/win for me. And I am looking forward to showing you and the entire world what I am capable of. Good luck Roxi, because trust me, you are going to need it.”

What have I done?

Johanna sat up straight, her hands holding her hat on her lap as she was dressed in her best formal uniform. The jacket done up to regulation. Her posture pushing her chest up and forward. She was nervous, her hands were steady but her eyes darted from side to side. The heavy wooden doors opened, her father stepped out and let out a large laugh. Next to him stood Superintendent Herstod Vakt. He was the one in charge of her division, her boss. The two men smiled and spoke a few words, an inside joke. Another laugh. Johanna swallowed hard and tried to calm herself.

She had only spoken to her Superintendent a handful of times. He was always so busy dealing with her direct superiors. Johanna, while a talented officer and worthy of a future in the force, was not that high on the totem pole. She swallowed again trying to stop her throat from feeling dry. Then her father saw her, he gave her a warm grin and motioned her to walk over. Jo pushed to her feet, her long blond hair was up and back in a bun, no strand was out of place, only basic and plain makeup, her leather shoes caught the glint of the light above. Not one scuff mark to be seen.

As she approached she kept her chest up and out, her back straight and her eyes on them both. She stopped and kept her feet together as her father made the introduction. ”I’m sure you remember my daughter Johanna old friend. She’s been working with your young sergeants.” He gave the Superintendent a wry grin, Superintendent Vakt looked her up and down and laughed under his breath.

His voice was calm and measured but with a small hint of favor. He was familiar with her. ”Yes of course. I’ve heard much about the young blond pitbull pup.” Johanna resisted the urge to crack a smile. Pitbull was her father's nickname in the force. To be thought of in the same way, even in passing filled her with hope.”Don’t be so stiff and tense Constable Krieger. Your father has informed me you have something important to discuss.”

Johanna swallowed again and her jaw fluttered. She had thought and assumed her father would tell him everything. She slowly looked at him, her father just gave her a small wink. ”I thought it appropriate you present it all.”

”Of course father.” The old friends looked at one another and Superintendent Vakt turned and led Johanna into his office, her father stayed outside. Johanna looked around, she saw his desk, the awards and photos. Including one of him and her father when they were younger, large mugs of beer in their hands. Johanna couldn’t help but smile.

Vakt’s voice startled her out of her gaze. ”That was the day after I got promoted.” He smiled and seemed to relax now they were out of the hallway, away from the other officers. Vakt sat at his desk and motioned for Johanna to take a seat across from him. ”Please” She gave a nod and moved across sitting down placing her hat in her lap, along with a file she had brought together. ”Now, what is it that you need to bring to my attention?”

Johanna took a long deep breath, she pulled the file up placing it on Vakt’s desk, she started to explain all of it. The stakeout, the warehouse, her superior acting strangely. All of it laid to bare with the evidence of a fellow officer entering the restricted and suspicious area. Vakt sat and listened. He said no his hand on his jaw, his glasses had been pulled over his eyes to read the evidence presented. When she finished there was an awkward silence. Vakt cleared his throat and got to his feet taking the file with him.

He removed his glasses and gave another smile, not as warm as before, but he was trying to make it seem that way. Johanna felt strange getting to her feet to meet him. ”Thank you. Thank you for bringing this to me. I will make sure it is looked into. Now, leave this with me and please ask your father to join me in my office.” The delivery of the words seemed off. Cold. The mood in the office had changed, the air was now heavy. Johanna backed away and gave a small nod.

She moved out from the large wooden doors, her father was waiting, he got to his feet to greet her. She smiled and he took her hands. ”He is going to look into it, but he has asked you to join him.” Her father laughed and gave her a nod. He gave her a small kiss on the forehead and walked towards the office, Johanna’s stomach feeling strange. She was worried. And had no idea why.

Third times a charm

Her eyes slowly opened. A deep blue framed by a dark black eyeliner. Her skin was pale white her cheeks had a black wall paint. Johanna Krieger was in full war garb. She smiled, but it was more of a sneer, her lips were covered in black lipstick making her teeth seem even sharper gleaming in the light from above.

” still the champions. Just like Alex and I told you we would be. The Trenton Tigers were never going to be a challenge for a team like us. People who are so delusional should never be allowed to challenge for championships, they should never be allowed to be prevalent on television. Yet for some odd reason management has a soft spot for them. They are cuddled, they are spoiled, they are favored.”

“But unfortunately best laid plans to make stars at our expense have failed. There is so much talk in the mixed tag team division about who the faces of the division are going to be. Who the leaders of the division of going to be. The Barnhardt are running their mouths, the Tigers still think they should be in the running, new challenges from faded legends in Kris Ryans and Mikah have now also entered the conversation. Alex and I have continued to be the shining lights of the division. We have taken the championships over and we have made them an even bigger prize and they were before. But that doesn’t fit the narrative that some in this company want to tell.”

She folded her arms over her chest. She tilted her head sideways as a few strands of blonde hair moved down across her face, the rest of her blonde dreads with different colours braided through came to rest on her leather jacket. She raised an eyebrow and continued

”But oh how interesting it is when on climax control I will be facing one half of the team who expects to take the championships off myself and Alex. The team of sass and bash. How adorable. And Little Miss Bella Madison, someone who seems to be so ready to shop the world and to keep pressing her own narrative. The one where she actually believes herself to be a world-class competitor and someone who belongs in the ring with me. The truth is for the last three years I have been professional wrestling’s best kept secret. It wasn’t until I moved to America and I started training with Alex and with Alicia that I started to get the recognition I deserved.”

“I traveled to many different companies, I took on the best of the best, and then after walking into sin city wrestling I became a champion in a very short amount of time. Others struggle, others crawl and scrape, others take so long to make any sort of impact in this business and in this company yet I did it so fast. And so many turn around and say that I hitched my wagon to Alex, of course others say that Alex is using people like myself and Austin and Alicia to keep himself relevant. It’s amazing how many people can’t keep the story straight so they will make excuses”

“The thing is though, Bella doesn’t make excuses. I may not like her attitude, I may not like how she is this smiley little girl. But I admire the guts and determination that she shows to get better.”

“I admire the fact that unlike teams like the trend Tigers Bella and Malachi have never demanded or asked for anything. All they have ever wanted is a chance. A chance that has been taken from them time and time again over the Trenton Tigers. Sass and bash never got a one on one shot they got inserted into a match and then the Tigers got a shot right afterwards and I have to question why?. Sass and bash beat them, we beat the Tigers in our triple threat match, yet somehow Bella and Malachi got overlooked.”

Johanna sneers and shakes her head pacing back and forth.

”But not now. Now Bella and Malachi have been positioned as challengers and while I personally believe they deserve to be here, I also have to point out that against me..Bella never looks strong. She and I have a past in our short careers here and every time. EVERY SINGLE TIME, she has come up short. And as we head into Climax Control she has a chance to prove everyone wrong and to “overcome” her failures. Something that she has said time and time again. And as I said, I admire the determination. But….”

“Words...are never enough.”

“Actions Bella, actions are what matter and this match is about more than just two professional wrestlers going toe to toe. I beat you and that will get in your head, and it will make it even harder for you and Malachi to come into Summer XXXtreme to challenge us. And how will you feel Bella...letting Malachi down...again?.I’m one of the best wrestlers on this planet Bella, and beating me is no easy thing to accomplish. And I have been hidden away in tag team matches and matches against people who don’t matter, like Song who came in and then disappeared after taking a shot at the mixed tag titles that she and her partner didn’t deserve.”

“So now, now you have a chance to prove you can overcome your failures and me?...I have a chance...to hurt you. And make no mistake Bella, I will fucking hurt you…”

Case Closed

”You look tired Jo”

She was. Truth is she was exhausted. It had been a week since her last assignment. A week since she sat in that cold van in the pouring rain, a week since she stared at those monitors and saw a member of her profession break the law. And in that time, she had barely slept, barely eaten. Johanna took a long deep breath, her fork in her hands twirled around the cold spaghetti noodles on her plate. Her mother tilted her head looking worried, forlorn and sad. Her eyes moving over to her husband. Johannas father. He was a high ranking member of the police, a captain. Someone respected and admired.

Johanna had always wanted to be like him, like her mother who had also been an officer. Like her two older brothers who had followed their parents just like Jo did. It was the family business.

But now she sat at her family‘s dinner table. Her mind travelling elsewhere, a body feeling week due to the lack of sleep. Her mind kept travelling back to that moment, she felt guilty a black hole in the pit of her stomach. And when she did sleep she was start of the week by nightmares. What if she didn’t tell them? What if she found out that a member of the force that she had given the last 5 years to was corrupt?

The thought cycle in her brain over and over again. But she could feel the eyes on her, her mother’s worry, her father‘s interest.

They both knew their daughter well enough to know if something was wrong. Her mother had always been more hands on, always trying to get into Jos brain and see what was there. But then one of them who actually got there was her father. She was closer to him than anyone else, and he was closer to her than he was with his other children. It was the typical daddy’s girl relationship. He doted on her, she always wanted to make him proud and knew he was there for her. Her mother knew it, she cleared her throat taking the plates to the sink and leaving the room.

Her father slowly closed the newspaper, put in on the table and clasped his hands together. ”I can see something is on your mind. We all can. The last few days it has gotten worse.” Jo shifted, she swallowed hard as dread came up from her stomach. She couldn’t lie to her father, she knew it, she felt it. He wanted to get it out of her. ”I’ve known it when something is wrong since you were a little girl. I’m always here to talk…”

He was right, he had always been there for her. For anything. Not that Johanna was a troubled child. She had always been the model student and daughter. Never got into trouble, always was courteous and respectful. That’s why this haunted her. Thats why she was troubled. If the profession her family had been in, that she chose and believed in was cracked, didn’t she have an obligation to try and patch it?

She took a deep breath, her father smiled warmly and went to stand up, Jo finally spoke, her voice cracking a moment at the start. ”Last week…” She stopped for a moment and took a small sip of water before clearing her throat and turning to make eye contact. ”Jonas and I, we were on a routine surveillance stop….the warehouse out in Mittelfranken…” He was listening, settling back in his chair, an eyebrow raised. ”Jonas and I observed Officer Breenhaut, in plain clothes enter the warehouse….Jonas turned off the equipment...refused to log it even under special forces..”

She shook her head, hoping maybe he had been undercover, maybe he had been there making a routine inspection or needed something legitimately. But the days after and Jonas’ reaction. Jo knew something was wrong. ”That is highly irregular, did you tell any other superiors about it in fraud?” Johanna swallowed hard, she hadn’t, she hadn’t said anything to anyone. ”No, I was ordered not to. But...it feels..”

”Dirty?”

He finished her sentence, Johanna again gave a small nod looking down, her father reached out, his hand finding hers giving it a small squeeze. Johanna smiled and looked up, her father gave her a nod. ”Tomorrow...we’ll go and see your captain, he’s an old friend...it’s ok Jo…” She breathed deep, she was relieved, it was off her chest. She trusted her father, trusted his instincts and she knew he trusted hers. Now, maybe...she’d be able to sleep.

Repeat offenders.

Johanna was like a caged animal. She was pacing back and forth, her long hair was down, her body covered in black clothing, tight jeans and a Wage War shirt. She snarled as she shook her head.

”We told all of you. We warned you. But you did not listen. When Alex and I started teaming everybody wondered how we would go and question if someone new to the company and a veteran would be able to click the way we did. We didn’t even need to clean the racks, we were just there in the mixed tag team title heart. We won those championships and from that moment we have done nothing but make the mean something. The other champions of this division tried to do something but didn’t push themselves the way Alex and I have.”

“They ended up being more concerned with single Schorie. And don’t get me wrong I would love to hold one of those three female titles over my head one-day. But not before I have made the mix tag team championships one of the most desirable titles in all of wrestling. Not before I have stamped my dominance over this part of sin city wrestling. Thing is I’m still looked at as the X factor of the team.”

“With Alex you know what you’re getting, you’re getting a veteran with years of experience of not only being one of the best in the world but also being a world champion.”

“Intimidating to prepare for but at the same time at least you know what you’re getting. With me, it’s much harder to plan. I have been in many different companies I have shown how good I can be I have beaten a few names but in the end, when I walked into this company I was just known as the weird German tattooed girl who was a member of Alex‘s gym and now a member of his group.”

She sneered again, turning her nose up. Her eyes filling fire as she recounts the rolled eyes and dismissive nature of everyone in the locker room when she had signed her contract and turned up on sin city wrestling climax control.

”But over the last few months everyone has started to take notice. People have started to really look at me and think I might have a future as one of the best of the best. And I’m gonna prove it by teaming with Alex until such time as we either clear out the division, or a better team beats us. We know we’re not unbeatable, we know they could be a team who could beat us on a really great night for them, Helen part of me believes Bella and Malachi could have if they tried harder.”

“Bella and Malachi impressed me. And anyone who knows me knows that that is actually hard to do. I’m usually aggressively dismissive of other people, because in my own world and my own talents I need to show that I’m the best because I have been pushed down for so long, but even I have to admit those two brought a fight to ask that we weren’t expecting.“

“With that being said Alex and I walked out of into the void still the sin city wrestling mixed tag team champions and I want to fence away from holding the record for most offences, less than two months away from being the longest raining, and we are begging pleading for more competition.“

“But the Trenton Tigers? That ain’t it chief.”

She growled, she folded her arms over her chest and let out a small laugh.

”They tried, they failed. They tried to win the titles in the match that we originally won them in. They tried Adt into the void. They were the ones who got beaten they were the ones who took the pin. Sludge is nothing but a fat slob, and Victor is a pretty boy he doesn’t know what day it is because he’s too fucking stupid. Alex could take either of them in his sleep, and Char?, Daniela?...”

“I already told the world what I think about them. Daniella has tried so hard in sin city underground and also sin city wrestling to make a name for herself, and each time she’s failed. She doesn’t have the fire, she doesn’t have a passion, she doesn’t have the guts or the skills to be on the same level that I’m on. She doesn’t have the same skills to be on the level of anyone here. She’s not a future Internet champion, she’s not a future Roulette champion, and she’s damn sure not a future bombshells champion.“

“But me? I can be all of those things.“

“You see it doesn’t matter to me which member of the Tigers is across the ring. It doesn’t matter to me which one of them just decides to magically appear in the ring. It could be one that we never seen before, it could be all of the Tigers against myself and Alex at one time. But that’s not gonna change the result of this match. At climax control ladies and gentlemen, Wolfslair become the most fighting and defending mixed tag team champions of all time“

“Then we set our sites on the longest reigning record. And we dare anyone to stop us. Bella and Malachi, London Underground, team eggplant, hell get Mercedes Vargas to dig up Kain and get them to come after us, because in the end we are the ones in control.”

Isolation. Lockdown. Quarantine.

The Americans had so many words for it. But to someone like Johanna it was other things. Prison. Torture. Hell. Even if it was in a beautiful hotel on the Vegas strip. Johanna Krieger was used to being able to move around freely. But as a contracted performer for Sin City Wrestling that was impossible. For the last two months she had been in this hotel. And in this very room. Her days often started off the same. She would wake up, do some stretching and yoga, crunches, pull ups, push ups. Anything she could do in the room to herself.

She would make her protein and energy shake, she would prepare food for the day. And thyen train her mind and body. Making use of the gym facilities. Even socialise with some of the others in Wolfslair, some in SCW even tried to be sociable.

But Johanna didn’t want that. She didn't need or want friends.

What she did need and crave. Was freedom. There were only so many workouts she could do, so many articles she could read, so many news stories she could watch on the television. She paced back and forth now, the day had started out as any other. But this was an announcement she had been waiting for. In a weeks time she and Alex would finally be defending the Sin City Wrestling mixed tag titles again. She would be on Climax Control and had another chance to perform.

With Rose City pre taping all their events for months and NFW using her sparingly she had been confined to Vegas. Confined to her room. And now she could see a small light at the end of the tunnel.

A chance to go out there and show what she could do.

But, the weekend seemed so far away, the Sunday night event down in the Go gym seemed to taunt her, to laugh at her. And she was starting to crack. She couldn’t stop moving, relaxing was out of the picture. Johanna sat on the black leather couch, she punched a few keys on her laptop bringing up spotify to listen to some music;. A playlist popped up with some different metal bands. She slowly moved her head flicking through her phone.

She stood up moving across the suite to the window looking down to the street. The strip was so eerie. It was like a scene from a post apocalyptic movie. One where only a small amount of humans still inhabited the world. They dotted the sidewalk, Police patrolled up and down. And Johanna slowly raised a bottle of water to her lips as she tried to think of something else to do.

Her body twitched.

Her eyes followed.

She was anxious, angry, frustrated. She hated this. She gripped the back of the long stools with high backs they put in the rooms near the kitchen counters. She pulled back and slammed the stool forward against the hard wood of the counter. A small growl escaping her lips. She looked over at the small table just off the kitchen. A pair of championship title belts sat there crossed over. One half of the Rose City Wrestling tag titles sat next to her half of the SCW mixed tag titles. For a moment this seemed to calm her.

She let out another growl, she turned off the music, grabbed a leather jacket and ventured out of the room. She had nowhere to go, nothing to go. But she needed to get out. She needed air, freedom. Even if it was an illusion. She stormed down the hallway to the elevator, moving down to the lobby stepping out towards the gym, she didn’t even have her workout gear. But a voice stopped her.

”Hey Jo” Charlie Jones, Alex’s younger sister and one of the head trainers at Wolfslair stood to the side in a pair of black jeans, combat boots, a tight white shirt and a leather jacket. A bag sitting by her feet. Johanna raised an eyebrow moving over as Charlie signed the paperwork in front of her. Jo’s eyes couldn’t help but travel down to the bag, the top of her newly won Triumph FC Womens bantamweight title poked out of the top.

Johanna couldn’t help but smile and nod. ”Hey champ” Charlie couldn’t help but laugh too, she took her credit card back from the receptionist before picking up her back and the room key.”Checking back in?” Charlie smiled warmly and moved around Johanna with a sigh.

”Yeah, I got an exemption to travel to Japan, private jet. Triumph didn’t want their first event to fail.” Jo gave a nod. She was jealous, she didn’t want to admit it but she was. She liked Charlie, they had gotten along well in the gym, she was tough, reliable and much more talented than people have her credit for. ”But, I’m back, to help keep you, Alex, Austin and Alicia in shape. Aiden, Kallie and the rest of the trainees are in town to…”

Oh Joy...Kallie…

Johanna swallowed hard and sighed. The young kid at Wolfslair, the rookie who had clutched on to Johanna had been a welcome distraction, a little friend she didn’t think she needed. But even though Kallie annoyed her, Johanna liked her in a weird little sister way. ”God knows I need someone to keep me focused…..have you seen your brother yet?” Charlie smiled and turned motioning her hand over to the doorway. Alex was there, sitting and looking out the window, Johanna gave Charlie a warm grin and  the two fist bumped before Charlie moved towards the elevators and Johanna towards Alex.

A cruel joke

Her hands clasped together as she sat forward. A small smile across her lips as Johanna Krieger let out a sigh, her head tilting as she thought about her words carefully.

”Last time you saw me in an SCW ring, Alex and I were having our hands raised as the Sin City Wrestling mixed tag team champions. He and I stepped into the ring and did all we said we would and kept then titles that the elders and in particular, Song seemed to want...but, while I have been used...sparingly on SCW television it doesn’t mean I have been silent or stagnant…”

She reaches down pulling up the SCW mixed tag title belt and the RCW tag team title putting one on each shoulder with a grin.

”See, this is the mark of a champion, of someone who wants to be a name in this business who is not content with simply being here. That is a problem with todays society. So many of you are happy with just being handed a fucking participation trophy. Instead of being something more. And that, well, that is the problem that Alex and I have with our opponents this week. Two people who, if I’m honest, don’t deserve a shot at us…”

“Two people who like to have those...participation trophies.”

“Jesse Salco and Caleb Storms. Two of the biggest losers in SCW but two people who never give up and are happy to simply be here.If you’re complacent, if you just want to collect your paycheck and go home, you shouldn’t be in a top flight wrestling company. Caleb especially. See Mr Storms, Ms Salco, I don’t hate either of you. This isn’t about emotion, this isn’t about anger. This is simply a contractual obligation. Alex and I have to defend our titles before we face the Trenton Tiges and SCW has chosen you two to be the sacrificial lambs.”

She laughs to herself adjusting the title belts before rolling her eyes and mumbling under her breath.

”Now, my therapist says I need to stop being so negative about things and people and mostly my coworkers. So I need to say something...nice about you two. I like your styles and the music you listen to...argh that felt wrong...but it’s true. You’re both metalheads. You listen to great music and I’m sure away from wrestling and all this madness you’re good people. But in the ring...you’re both not deserving of my time, and under any normal circumstance I wouldn’t think about either of you...but this isn’t a normal circumstance...we have been booked in a match..”

Johanna pauses for a moment5 and swallows hard placing both title belts back down and pacing back and forth.

”Now, I’m not going to go into the hows and whys of Alex beating the shit out of Caleb,I’ll leave that up to him. But Jesse Salco, well now, that is different. See Jesse is like the cockroach that just won’t die no matter how many times you squash it. For years Jesse Salco has flied the SCW flag. Since 2012 she has been here, on and off, struggling away to make her mark and in that time, in eight years she has barely scratched the surface here. A few small titles reigns, but no real moments that people will remember. I’ve been here a few months and people talk about Song and I brawling mall over the arena and how Mercedes Varghas ducked me.”

“But little Jesse Salco is lost in the shuffle.”

“Little Jesse Salco begs and pleads for title opportunities.”

“Little Jesse Salco is only noticed when people bring up the epic loss record she has going.”

“You haven’t won a title since 2017 Jesse, and in the last fourteen opportunities you’ve had since then, you’ve failed. And just stop and think about that Jesse. Three years, fourteen title shots. And not one championship to your name. And this one is going to be different? This one is going to be where Jesse and Caleb step up and become the mixed tag team champions?. No, I don’t think so….”

Jo chuckles and pulls the chair out from the table spinning it around to sit down on it and place her arms across the front.

”I am a beast Jesse. There’s no other way to put it. Look at me. I look like something that nightmares are made of. Strong, fast, deadly. Zero fear. I can stand up and punch you in the face so hard I break bone, I can throw you around with no effort and if I do happen to take you to the mat I can grab any limb you leave out there and turn and twist it till I hear you tap or it snaps.  This isn’t a game Jesse and you don’t have the pedigree to get in the ring with me and be anything more than a speed bump”

“Don’t get me wrong, I do have to respect your longevity here but it speaks volumes that women who have been here just as long as you have hall of fame worthy careers and you simply. Don’t. I have no doubt you’ll be put in SCW’s hall of fame but look at the members of Wolfslair. Alicia is already a legend here. And I won a championship in my first two months of being here.”

“I am well known and respected and even feared in other companies...and you?...you limp through SCW like you limped through Honor…”

“So at bClimax Control, bring everything you have, come at me with it all and do not hold back. And then, don’t take it personally when I am able to take it all and shove it right back down your throat…”

Lost inside my mind
I’m falling farther and farther behind
It’s getting harder and harder to fight
I can’t keep running away
Running away
From me

------------------------------------------------------

The Way I was made
Off Camera

“You’re a cold-hearted bitch Jo”.

The words rang through the bar, Johanna sat on her stool, her legs crossed over as she simply reached down grabbing the glass, she lifted it to her lips and took the drink down as the other patrons all stood in awe. Michael sneered and shook his head. The look of devotion and feeling he once had when he looked at her was now gone. Replaced by anger and frustration with shame boiling from underneath. Johanna gave a nod to the bartender and took another drink as Michael came a step closer, Johanna took her drink and smirked behind the glass as she placed it back on the bar.

Michael didn’t take the hint, his body tensing up as the anger came over him even more, his voice rising up higher as he added bass. “Didn’t you hear me?. Or are you just ignoring me?” He yelled louder, a man stood up from his chair and grabbed Michael by the arm whispering something in his ear. Michael turned and shoved the man back through the table, the patrons all gasped as the bartender grabbed his cell phone. Johanna looked up through her long blond hair and slowly shook her head. He gave her a small nod of understanding laying his phone back down.

He took another step closer, swaying lightly. Obviously drunk and smelling of cheap beer, the kind not sold here. Johanna laid the glass down, turning on the stool to face him, her legs still crossed over as her hands came to rest on her knee.

“Are you quite done making an utter ass out of yourself?”

Her voice was cold, as cold as it had been nights before, as cold as it had always been. Here Johanna sat, in the very bar they’d met in. Michael looked horrible. His hair all over the place, his eyes dark and sunken into his head as he seemed unable to stand still. Johanna was the opposite. Her hair was tied back in a long braid with a few strands framing her face, her makeup was impeccable. She wore a pair of jeans and large black boots, a tight black shirt over the top. She shook her head with a sigh sliding down onto the floor.

Her boots made heavy noises as she took steps toward him, she stopped next to Michael and looked him up and down before letting out a small scoff and going to walk past him. Michael growled under his breath. “Don’t walk away from me bi-” He went to grab her arm, but as quick as he grabbed her she twisted her arm around his, moving her body with his unstable motion pulling him down face first into the floor. Her black fingernails dug into the skin on the back of his neck as she leaned down and hissed in his ear.

“Do you want to finish that fucking sentence?” Everyone stood in awe and moved away from the scene, Johanna squeezed the skin and pulled his arm straight and upward putting pressure on his elbow. Michael groaned in pain and whimpered. “No, No, I’m sorry Jo...I’m sorry please let go.” Johanna pulled slightly and growled as her teeth ground together, she wanted to break it, she wanted to hear the snap and him scream in pain. She took a deep breath and shook her head letting him go. She pushed up to her feet and shook her head as Michael was helped to his feet by a few men sitting nearby who took pity on him.

Jo moved towards the door and stopped as her hand came to rest on the golden “push” sign nailed to the hardwood. “Do you need a ride home?” Her voice had softened, Michael quivered and gave a small nod muttering “Yes, please” under his breath. “Come on….you idiot…”

She led him out into the cold street, Michael sheepishly got to the cab with her and crawled into the back seat, Johanna slid in the front shaking her head again as they sped off into the night….

Present Day

Johanna let out a growl, her fist slamming against the pads being held by SCW Internet Champion Austin James Mercer. The large grappler crouching down slightly so Johanna can strike the pads at the right height. She hits a left, a right then a high right switch kick. Austin smirks and gives Johanna a nod, she keeps going, moving harder and fast. Both of them so focused that they don’t hear Alex and Alicia step in the gym. The only members allowed right now are the “Elite” ones. Johanna, Austin, Aiden Reynolds, Charlie Jones, Travis Levitt,  Alex and Alicia. Alicia stood next to Alex, her arm now out of the sling but obviously still needing rehab.

Austin looks up and loses focus, Johanna hitting him in the chest. Austin stepped back winded and shook his head unable to talk as Johanna laughed. Alex cleared his throat and Jo tuned with a smile. Alicia giving Jo a small nod of respect. ”If you two are quite done screwing around. I have your blast from the past partners” Austin stood up straight, Jo and Austin looking at each other hoping they were going to team together. Alex folded his arms over his chest looking at Austin.

”Big man...you have Candy…”

There was a pause, Austin raised his eyebrow, Alicia and Johanna both let out laughs and snickers as Austin groaned and shook his head walking off. ”She’s the current roulette champion...it could have been worse.” Austin just raised his hand in acknowledgement as he went to get changed. Johanna smirked and looked at Alex who took a long deep breath.
[colorr=ed]”Now Jo, your partner is someone who has accomplished alot in wrestling, in fact he’s in a few halls of fame and I- Johanna rolled her eyes and snatched the piece of paper.

”Ace Andrews?!?!”

Johanna threw her hands in the air, Alicia couldn’t help herself and started laughing trying to hold back the hilarity. ”He’s a former world champion Jo...a hall of famer..” Jo stopped and turned getting face to face with Alex. ”What? In WWH? Who gives a shit...they’re trying to screw me Alex. I could win this with a decent partner, go on to face Roxi…” Alex shook his head and stepped back as Johanna paced angrily.

”Trust me Jo, Ace will handle his own. You can carry him to a win, and he can then go and get beaten by Ben Jordan and you can go get that title from Roxi…” Johanna took a deep breath and calmed herself down, she looked at Alex and gave him a slow understanding nod. Alicia stood behind Alex and sneered as Johanna just smirked arrogantly. ”I hope your shoulder is getting better….champ”

Promo:Freedom to lose

“Freedom... is the ability to challenge yourself far beyond the constraints of traditional rule and order. We draw strength from our passions... we're driven by desire... even hatred can be a worthy ally when used against an enemy... and yet, we are told to turn our backs on these things... the very feelings, emotions... that make us all... human”

Johanna Krieger smiled to herself, her bright white teeth shining as the light from the side hit them, the color looking even paler with the contrast of her black lipstick. We pull out to find her standing in a black room with a few lamps around her, she’s in her wrestling gear with a leather jacket over the top, her long blond hair flowing, twisting and turning around the studs.

“We have the freedom to feel and think what we want when we want. The freedom to say and think and feel. The truth is. I don’t need anyones fucking approval because I have the freedom to look every single member of the SCW roster in the eye and say “fuck you”. I may not like some of the things you sycophantic little pissants say about me, but I admit you have as much right to say them as I do to say that they aren’t true. Or to rip on Bobbi Dahl for being failure, Candy for being an overrated champion, Seleana Zdunich for being lucky and being in the right place at the right time.”

“But now, all any of you have to know is that I am one half of the sin city wrestling mixed tag team champions. Alex and I won those championships in our first match as an official team. The only time I have even looked like faltering in a ring was against Song in a match that should never have been a draw. You all need to realise that I am the new danger in the bombshells division. Other people need to come into this company and work and work and work to earn the right to say anything like that. But with me you just have to open your eyes and believe it.”

“But in signing up for the blast from the past I may have left myself open.“

“You see we do not have any control over who is going to be a partner in this tournament. I wanted Austin I wanted wolf slayer to stay together and succeed together. But now I’m teaming with Ace Andrews. And I know the history of Ace, I get it. He's rich, he's famous, he's a former world champion he is in the WWH Hall of Fame seriously I understand. In aces mind he is in fact a big deal. But, in the last few years he has been nothing but an old joke limping around on a reputation that no longer applies or is apt to his state of being”

She shakes her head, a small chocolate under her breath. Her eyes burn as her jaw clenched together a certain anger and frustration coming up in her stomach.

”Now, I’m good. You should all know that by now after seeing me in action. I’ve had three matches but in every single one of them I have a looks like a fucking killer. But the question is am I good enough to drag this broken down has been he thinks that he’s talented all the way to victory in this tournament?. Am I good enough to step in or ring week in week out with him as my partner and make damn sure that I destroy whatever bombshell is across the ring from me before ace has to get in the ring with his walking stick and stumble around?”

“Although this week. On the male side Ace has someone who can beat. See Ace might be older,  he might be a bit of a pain in the ass, he might be a bit of a failure when it comes to the last few years but he damn sure can take out Teddy Warren.” but, if I feel like walking across the ring and kicking Teddy in the face you damn sure better believe I’ll do it. Teddy has a poor opinion of women and he’s very vocal about it. Teddy thinks he’s better than all of us but I question his mental faculties. What kind of man are you Teddy?

“Or are you going to go back to being a dress and thinking you’re some kind of transvestite queen?“

“I don’t care what little tricks you have up your sleeve Teddy, the truth is that you don’t belong in this kind of tournament. You see this tournament is to give people who deserve a chance a pathway to winning a shot against any title they please. And after all of your begging and crying and wanting this and wanting that the truth is you should have to sit the blast from the past out. You should be sitting on the bench watching a real athlete and real people who have respect for the sport of professional wrestling fight it out for a chance that you should have the envy. Hey’s is gonna destroy you Teddy because even a broken down legend is still more of a man than you…”

Johanna paces back and forth getting riled up as she smiled through her black painted lips showing her immaculate white teeth.

”Then we have his partner. The general manager of sin city wrestling and the former head honcho of honour wrestling owned by her family for Saxons. Brooke Saxon making her grand in ring debut in round one of the blast from the past tournament everybody put your hands together. Yes let’s applaud a woman who hasn’t been in a ring in so long that I’m fairly certain she will forget how to wrestle. Not that you really wrestled that much to begin with Brooke. But here you are taking a spot in the tournament that an actual wrestler could’ve had.

“But then again I suppose I can’t really blame you can I? Being a general manager being around the wrestling business it’s gonna be boring for you sitting behind a desk. Making decisions on peoples careers who you wish you could be as good as. And when the numbers of people who wanted to be in this tournament didn’t add up to what they needed you came in to save the day much like myself. But let’s be real here Brooke, what is the endgame for you?”

“If you do happen to somehow get through this tournament earn yourself a shot against any of the titles that you please what are you going to do? Are you going to take on the bombshells champion and go toe to toe with Roxi Johnson? Are you going to go after the roulette championship and Candy? Or are you going to go after Kate Steele and try and take the new Internet championship? Or, are you going to go find a male partner and come after myself and Alex for the mixed tag team championships?”

“Do you believe that’s a good look? Having a member of management go through a tournament and get a title shot? But then again do you really believe you can do this? You may be talented Brooke you may be able to use your father’s money to go on training top of the line gym to retool your wrestling skills but to be perfectly honest if you step in the ring with me, if you tag Teddy and get in to the rain I will hurt you. I won’t just be Brooke I will hurt you and you should know that I can do it, you can talk tough you can stomp your feet you can act like you can be some kind of challenge for me but the truth is that you will only last as long in that ring as I let you. I will drag Ace through this tournament all the way to the final and I will make damn sure that we win the blast from the past and then I will go on to choose whichever singles title I want and I will take it because I am Johanna Krieger the agent of chaos…”

Johanna sneers and clicks the button to end the feed.
