{Our scene opens up with Roxi and Keira cleaning up after the holidays as they take down ornaments off their Christmas tree out of the house. Together they move it to the backyard and set it down. From over the fence behind their house their neighbor is outside, a somber look on his face as he cleans up his yard, but rather aggressively. Roxi and Keira give him a wave, and he eventually waves back. Roxi slowly approaches him.} Roxi – Everything okay, Mr. Penny?
{Mr. Penny doesn’t respond at first, though his yard working motions get far more aggressive.} Roxi – Sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude, just you know, checking in, being neighborly.
{Mr. Penny sighs and shakes his head.} Mr. Penny – Eliza's in the hospital.
Roxi – Oh. I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully it’s not COVID.
Mr. Penny – I don’t know what it is, but I took her to the hospital a few days ago, and now she’s been moved to Shady Acres.
Roxi – The mental hospital?
Mr. Penny – Yes. Some kind of a... breakdown and... I don’t really want to talk about it.
{Roxi takes the hint and backs off that line of questioning.} Roxi – I’m sorry to hear that, have a good holiday otherwise?
Mr. Penny – Yeah.
Roxi – Well, uh, if you need anything, don’t hesitate to let us know. And please, let us know if anything changes with Eliza?
{Mr. Penny only grunts and Roxi takes that as a hint to leave, she goes back to Keira and they make it back in the house. They turn on the news to find new reporter Rebecca Frost going over the top stories.} Rebecca Frost – ... cloud of black smoke was seen rising from a scrapyard in East Tampa Saturday afternoon. Authorities confirmed the source of the smoke to be Fedca Scrap Metals near the intersection of N 56th St and E Hanna Ave in East Tampa. Also, tonight a local woman has been moved to the Shady Acres Mental Hospital after reports of her screaming uncontrollably surfaced from hospital officials. Shady Aces is still recovering from the reports of guard misconduct from Officer Alan Coleman, who was dismissed back in March of 2021.
Roxi – So much for a peaceful 2022.
Keira – What was that earlier, with Mr. Penny?
Roxi – Eliza's been moved to the mental hospital.
Keira – Is she that bad?
Roxi – I guess. She’s at Shady Acre’s.
Keira – Woah. I mean, that’s where people WE put away go. What do you think could have happened there?
Roxi – I'm not sure. But if she’s that bad off something must be up. I’ll have to check in with Dr. Freeman.
Keira – They just let you in there?
Roxi – I'm a visitor there. A lot. I don’t know what that says about me.
Keira – You have a lot of crazy friends?
Roxi – That's also true. But, I mean, Eliza is our neighbor, and her son Tyler is friends with Nate. It’s a bit more personal than it seems.
Keira – Well, I guess it depends on what happened at the normal hospital. I mean, it’s not like you can just look at her medical records or anything.
Roxi – No, but I can try and get as much information about it, maybe it’s up our alley.
Keira – Like you said... so much for a peaceful 2022...
{Roxi uses a phone different from her normal phone to call up Dr. Freeman setting up an appointment as the scene fades.}
{Roxi arrives at Shady Acres and is greeted by Dr. Freeman, though he seems to be somber in his gaze.} Roxi – Dr. Freeman, has there been any update on Eliza Penny?
Dr. Freeman – No.
Roxi – I heard on the news about her, what... what is going on?
Dr. Freeman – Walk with me.
{Roxi and Dr. Freeman walk down the hallways, and the large mental hospital walls and the seemingly endless corridors are always there as they walk.} Dr. Freeman – She was admitted a few days ago, from Tampa General. She doesn’t respond to any stimuli. She appears to be simply... trapped.
Roxi – Trapped?
Dr. Freeman – Trapped in a dream-like state.
{Roxi pauses, forcing Dr. Freeman to stop as well.} Roxi – Dream?
Dr. Freeman – Yes. She appears to be having some kind of nightmare, but she cannot wake up. The hospital can’t have her just screaming day and night, so they sent her here. We have tried smelling salts, and I’m afraid to suggest adrenaline or anything that could affect her heart. She won’t respond to any commands, or any physical movement.
Roxi – So, she just...is in a coma, basically?
Dr. Freeman – I wouldn’t call it a coma.
{Before Dr. Freeman can say anything further, an ear-piercing scream is heard from further down the hallway.} Dr. Freeman – That is all she does. It’s every now and again. She just... screams.
Roxi – She doesn’t say anything?
Dr. Freeman – No. Nothing. Just horrific screams. I’m also afraid to issue a gag order, as it’s early and we feel that she may end up trying to communicate and we may miss it.
{Roxi ponders this as a man rushes towards them, wearing normal clothing and being chased by orderlies. It’s Mr. Penny.} Mr. Penny – You've got to help her!
Dr. Freeman – Whoa, Calm down!
{Mr. Penny stops, out of breath, but panicked as he looks towards Roxi, tears welling up in his eyes.} Roxi – You've got to get a hold of yourself, sir. Now, I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s going on.
{The Orderlies catch up to him but Dr. Freeman holds up a hand to stop them.} Orderly – This man was trying to get into Ms. Penny’s room.
Mr. Penny – Because I’m her god-damned husband!
Roxi – Okay, relax, the doctors are doing all they can.
Mr. Penny – You have to help her!
Dr. Freeman – Mr. Penny, I assure you, we will all do everything we can to help.
{Roxi walks up to the man and tries to comfort him, putting a hand on his shoulder and pulling him aside.} Roxi – Mr. Penny, I need you to calm down. I know that it’s tough to see your wife this way. I understand your pain. You have my word that I will do everything I can to help your wife. Right now, she’s in the best possible place. But, if you want to help, I’m going to need some information from you, okay?
Mr. Penny – What kind of information?
Roxi – Well, your wife got admitted a few days ago, right?
Mr. Penny – Yes, It’s been days and they haven’t done anything about it!
Roxi – Well, what was going on before that?
Mr. Penny – I don’t know. She was... acting normal, but every now and again she was acting strange.
Roxi – How strange?
Mr. Penny – Like she woke up and was talking about experiencing Deja-vu. Like she had seen the entire day play out before. I guess we all have that every now and again but, she was acting like the entire day was happening a second time.
Roxi – That's not that uncommon, but yes, go on. Anything else?
Mr. Penny – She had trouble sleeping from time to time to. I told the doctors all of this as well. She’s had nightmares, but she always woke up and after a little bit, she’d be back to bed, no fuss or anything.
Roxi – Okay. That’s actually pretty helpful. Now, don’t take this the wrong way, and I know how this is going to sound, but trust me, I’m not trying to insinuate anything, but... how were things at home?
{Mr. Penny cocks his head, almost offended by the question. Roxi puts her hands up in a defensive, non-threatening posture.} Roxi – I know, I know. I’m not trying to offend, and I’m not saying you caused any of what’s happening to your wife. I’m asking the questions to help me better help your wife. Things were okay, right?
Mr. Penny – What kind of question is that?! Of course, it’s fine.
Roxi – Okay, I’m trying to establish a base here. I want to help. I just need you to work with me. I can’t really gain the information any other way. Doctor-Patient confidentiality and all that.
Mr. Penny – I... I understand. I just feel so powerless. I feel like I let her down. Something is hurting her; something is affecting her and I can’t do anything about it!
Roxi – I know. I know. Look, I’m going to try and get as much information as I can to best help Eliza. You have my word. For now, you should go home, let the doctors do their jobs.
Mr. Penny – You... you’re right. That’s my wife...
Roxi – I know how you feel. But right now, the best thing you can do is be at home and keep living your life, take care of your children.
Mr. Penny – You're right. I’m sorry.
Roxi – Don't be. I’m sure they will let you know as soon as something comes up. As will I.
Mr. Penny – Thank you.
{Roxi walks Mr. Penny to his car, and he starts it up and drives away. Roxi goes back in to hear another scream from Eliza. She finds Dr. Freeman as nurses and assistants are surrounding Eliza inside her room as sedate her, and her screaming stops and her heart rate goes down.} Roxi – Is that safe?
Dr. Freeman – Her heart rate is through the roof. It’s just a sedative. It’s safe, and she should be at least a little calmer. She could have a heart attack if we’re not careful.
{Roxi watches as Eliza calms down and appears to be sleeping.} Dr. Freeman – What about the husband.
Roxi – I sent him home. Get him out of your hair at least for the time being.
Dr. Freeman – Thank you.
Roxi – I will look into... I guess if anything in our data bases covers anything like this. The only person I can think of is... Dr. Dream, but... he’s been silent since his lab was destroyed a few months back. But he was trying for something else when the last time I encountered him.
{Roxi ponders for a second.} Roxi – Have there been any other similar cases to this recently?
Dr. Freeman – No.
Roxi – Alright, like I said, I’ll see what I can do.
Dr. Freeman – Thank you for doing what you do.
Roxi – Same to you.
{With that, Roxi departs. The scene fading.}
{Later in the evening, Roxi returns to the hospital, though now she is technically trespassing. She makes her way to the window of Eliza’s room and slides it over, before entering. She gently moves the dividing curtain to see Eliza fidgeting in her sleep, moving her head and softly whimpering.} Roxi – I will do everything I can to help you.
{Roxi begins looking at Eliza’s chart, trying to see any new information, but other than her vitals, there aren’t any. She reaches into her pouch and pulls out a small wand, and begins to wave it over Eliza’s body. After a few waves of the wave, she stops and reads the output on the wand.} Roxi – No foreign entities. Well, you’re not possessed. It couldn’t be that easy.
{Eliza starts to twitch and move rapidly, her hands and arms start to thrust outward, and almost as if she knew Roxi was there, her left arm reaches out and grabs Roxi’s right arm, and squeezes. It’s so hard it actually breaks the skin on Roxi’s arm and causes her to bleed a little. Roxi recoils and is able to pull away from Eliza’s grip, as Eliza continues to grasp at the air and whimper. Roxi checks her arm and then hits the button to call for the nurse, before she herself makes her way out of the window she came in. She again checks her arm, seeing the wound is already healed thanks to her ability to heal.} Roxi – Hmm... that’s would have left a mark.
{Roxi returns home to find Keira sitting up, waiting for her in their bedroom as Roxi comes in the window.} Keira – How is she?
Roxi – Sedated. She was screaming and flailing wildly the whole time until they sedated her, I checked just a little while ago for any foreign bodies and it was negative. I can’t go doing my own experiments on her or anything, I’m not a doctor.
Keira – And she is just... asleep?
Roxi – Yes and no. She’s asleep, but the dream is real to her. Very real.
Keira – So, this has to be Dr. Dream, right? I mean, that makes sense.
Roxi – No, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Dr. Dream was after you. He wanted your essence to perfect making the entire world some dream-like state. This is different.
Keira – Well, he’s the one invading dreams. Maybe it’s... whatever that thing you fought before. Fate. Master Fate.
Roxi – I'd have to check the Penny’s house for those little cubes. But usually the user winds up dead, not like this. But Mr. Penny’s had enough excitement for a lifetime just in the past week.
{Keira sits down on the bed and sighs.} Keira – I mean, we should still check into Dr. Dream. He seems like the most likely suspect.
Roxi – Why would he target one random person, though? Eliza’s just a normal run-of-the-mill average woman.
Keira – A test. See if what he can do, can work.
Roxi – Well, we destroyed his lab thanks to the other Roxi and Keira.
Keira – But that was a few months ago, I doubt he’s going to stop based solely on that alone.
Roxi – Yes, again, Eliza doesn’t make sense.
Keira – He doesn’t know who Lady Kat is, so maybe he’s picking at random?
Roxi – That would be a wild guess, and Dr. Dream would be smarter than that. I know it all sounds like him, but I’m just not sure it’s right.
Keira – So, who else can make people dream like that? Unless this is someone new.
{Roxi shrugs.} Roxi – I just, don’t know, I would need to actually do some tests, But...
Keira – But...
{Roxi looks at her arm again quizzically as it starts to hurt again, she rubs it for a second and the pain goes away just as quickly.} Keira – Are you okay?
Roxi – Yeah, Eliza grabbed my arm and she actually squeezed so hard it cut me.
Keira – Wait, she knew you were there?
Roxi – She was grabbing at anything, and it happens to some people when they are under sedation and they have to be strapped down. They don’t know what they’re doing. It happened to Nicole when we were younger. She needed her wisdom teeth pulled and it took like 5 nurses to hold her down because she moved all the time.
Keira – Well, I hope neither one of us ever had to be sedated if we’re like that.
Roxi – Me neither. But, anyway, yeah, for now I’ll have to see what information I can even get on Eliza.
Keira – Well, I’ve just been glad that we haven’t had a major issue in a long time. It was nice to actually have the holidays and not have to worry about things or doing the rounds or fighting some monster on Christmas or New Year’s.
Roxi – It was a nice change, wasn’t it?
Keira – It's like the gods were kind this time. Or maybe even bad guys take a holiday every now and again. Now we can focus on more interesting things, and... something I don’t know if we’re ready for.
{Roxi turns, confused.} Roxi – What are you talking about?
Keira – Nate. We have to get him ready. For school.
{Roxi frowns at this, not really happy about Keira’s words, but they are true.} Roxi – Is that... this week?
Keira – Yes.
Roxi – Alright. Well, we’ll figure it out in the morning, right now, I’m tired.
Keira – Sure.
{With that, Roxi and Keira head to bed, the scene fading.}
{Roxi slowly awakens, but it’s still dark outside. She rolls over and Keira isn’t there. Roxi sits up and sees the light on in the kitchen. She stands up and begins to walk toward the kitchen, and Keira is standing at the sink looking to be making something. Roxi looks into Nate’s room, but the door is wide open and Nate is not inside. Roxi is confused and sits down at the kitchen table looking at Keira, who hasn’t noticed Roxi is there.} Roxi – Keira, where is Nate?
{Keira doesn’t respond as the outside light in front of the house is on and Roxi is even more confused. She stands up, looking over at Keira, who is slicing apples in the sink. Roxi snaps her fingers to try and get Keira’s attention.} Roxi – Hello?! Keira! Where is Nate? He’s not in his room!
{Keira again doesn’t respond, continuing to slice apples in the sink. From outside, a car horn is blaring as Roxi looks up and sees Nate in the middle of the street outside, with a speeding car heading right for him.} Roxi – NATE!
{Roxi begins to head towards the door, but it seems to be getting farther and farther away as the car comes closer and closer to Nate until it blares the horn again and Roxi finally makes it to the door but the car hits Nate!} Roxi – NOO! AH!
{Roxi bolts ups, she still in her bed. She frantically looks around and again, Keira is not there. However, it is morning as there is light coming through the blinds. Roxi jumps out of bed and towards the kitchen, where Keira is again standing in front of the sink slicing up apples. Roxi turns and sees Nate’s door wide open again and Nate again isn’t in there. She rushes up to her and Keira is startled by her acting so strangely.} Keira – Roxi? What is wrong with you?! You nearly scared me to death!
Roxi – Where is Nate?!
Keira – He's in the living room. He’s watching TV.
{Roxi turns and heads into the living room, where Nate is indeed sitting and watching TV. Roxi breathes a sigh of relief. Before coming back to the kitchen and sitting down.} Keira – What was that about?
Roxi – It... It was a bad dream. Sorry. It felt so real.
Keira – You look like you’ve seen a ghost. Are you sure you’re, okay? I told you that you need to see the doctor.
Roxi – I don’t know what that was...
Keira – We all have bad dreams.
Roxi – No... literally everything was the same in my dream. You were in here slicing apples. And then Nare wasn’t in his room and...
{Keira finishes slicing the apples and puts her hands on Roxi’s face.} Keira – Relax. It was a dream. Everything is fine, Okay? Look. I’m right here, Nate is right there in the living room.
Roxi – I guess... Ugh, that was so freaky.
Keira – You really should go to the doctor. You promised me you would.
Roxi – I know, and I will. I think I just need to get out of the house. It’s been a long couple vacation, and now we have to start getting ready to get back into the ring.
Keira – Yeah, tell me about it. Anyway, I’ll make breakfast.
Roxi – Thank you.
{Keira, Roxi and Nate soon are all eating breakfast, some eggs cooked by Keira along with French toast and some fruit. Roxi shakes off the nightmare sequence, and gets ready for the rest of her day.
Sometime later, Roxi is out and about running errands, going to the store, depositing checks and the like. As she heads to her car, she actually spots Rebecca Frost, the TV reporter getting out of her car, and going to continue on her way into a jewelry store. It is just then that a police paddy wagon rolls into the same parking lot and waits. It’s marked with police insignias, but Roxi feels something is off. She also enters the jewelry store to observe the paddy wagon. Roxi keeps an eye on the wagon, but the sales clerk notices this.} Sales Clerk – May I help you, Ma’am?
{Roxi notices and politely smiles} Roxi – Oh, I’m sorry, just looking.
{Roxi casually glances at the jewelry, and she does fancy a few things, but mostly her eyes are on the paddy wagon. Rebecca on the other hand is shopping, but doesn’t really seem to see anything she likes. She speaks with the sales clerk, before she leaves. As soon as she is out the door, the Paddy Wagon’s door opens and the large hulking figure steps out and approaches Rebecca. The two begin arguing and Roxi recognizes the large figure.} Roxi – Coleman!
Sales Clerk – Ma'am?
Roxi – Shh!
{Roxi hears the arguing and then Rebecca being forced into the paddy wagon’s rear door. Roxi attempts to exit the jewlry store to assist, but Coleman spots her coming out of the store and pushes up against it, his large body blocking it, and he attaches a large super deadbolt lock, blocking the door from the outside. Roxi instantly turns to the sales clerk.} Roxi – Is there a back way out of here?!
Sales Clerk – Yes I...
Roxi – Good, call the police, Rebecca Frost is being kidnapped!
{Roxi runs past her and exits to the back alley quickly teleporting away to change, and in an instant, she’s back, in costume and gets in front of the paddy wagon to stop it. Coleman sees her in costume and his eyes light up.} Coleman – So, you’re here.
Roxi – What the hell are you doing?
Coleman – The time has come to cleanse the world of the real criminals. We should have been the best team Lady Bedlam; we could have cleaned up the crime here. You brought them to me, and I kept them locked away!
Roxi – No Coleman, Rebecca’s an innocent person!
Coleman – She's a journalist. Always wanting the clicks and the likes and to de-fame those who would do right. She’s a slanderer and she will be brought to justice.
Roxi – Not on my watch.
Coleman – We could have been so good together Lady Bedlam, but if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
{Coleman brandishes a nightstick and begins swinging it at Roxi, but she is able to avoid it, the two tussle over it when Roxi catches a swing, and she kicks Coleman away. Roxi tosses the nightstick away and approaches Coleman, but he is still heavily armed and zaps Roxi with a taser. The shock sends Roxi down, and then there are sirens. Approaching cops are in the area, and Coleman reaches out and pulled out a pistol and begins firing at the cop cars, causing them to swerve and crash. Coleman takes the opportunity, and jumps into the paddy wagon and drives away as Roxi gets up. Roxi looks to pursue them, but stops and has to check on the cops to make sure they are okay. Coleman is able to make a getaway as Roxi tends to the cops.
After an ambulance arrives, Roxi goes back over to the deadbolt lock and rips it off the door. She looks at it, and decides she needs to have an even closer look. She takes off, flying away with the lock as the scene fades}
{Roxi returns home and Keira is there again waiting as Roxi this time comes through the front door, having changed into normal clothes.} Keira – I heard about what happened, are you okay?
Roxi – Yeah. But now Rebecca Frost has been kidnapped, and Coleman is back.
Keira – Damn...
Roxi – He had to turn up sooner or later. For now, this lock is all I have to go on. I didn’t see the paddy wagon he drove having a license plate.
Keira – Well, what can we do with the lock?
Roxi – Well, maybe we don’t have to do anything, I’ll take this to AJ and see what she can do.
Keira – Makes sense, just don’t be too long, we have to start training.
Roxi – I won’t be long.
{Roxi turns to leave, kissing Keira as she departs for AJ’s house.}
{The new scene opens with Roxi heading to a familiar house with a stretch of land. Roxi is in normal clothes after changing and arrives with the lock in her hand. It’s Amy Jo Smyth’s land and home. Roxi knocks on the door and soon enough AJ answers.} Amy Jo Smyth – Can't you even just come by for a visit?
Roxi – Sorry. You got my Christmas card, right?
Amy Jo Smyth – Yes, I did, and I love it, but that is obviously not why you came here.
Roxi – No, it isn’t.
{AJ notices the lock in Roxi’s hand.} Amy Jo Smyth – What's with the lock?
Roxi – That's what I need you to help me figure out.
Amy Jo Smyth – You mean, you need my help again?
Roxi – This is something you might actually enjoy.
{AJ cocks her head to the side.} Amy Jo Smyth – Are you trying to butter me up with something sciency?
Roxi – Yes. I am.
Amy Jo Smyth – Well hot damn. Why didn’t you say that in the first place? Come on.
{AJ lets Roxi in and leads her to her basement lab. There are clothes scattered all over the place along with some food wrappers.} Roxi – AJ, what is all this?
{AJ sighs.} Amy Jo Smyth – Anya always comes for a visit around this time. Hang on...
{AJ goes to the steps of the basement and yells.} Amy Jo Smyth – ANYA! YOU BETTER CLEAR YOUR MESS OR YOU’RE NOT GETTING ANY MORE TREATS!
{AJ shakes her head and shrugs.} Amy Jo Smyth – Sorry. You know how Anya gets.
Roxi – Yes, I know. Just don’t tell her I’m here. I’m just dropping this lock off.
Amy Jo Smyth – So, what’s the story anyway?
Roxi – That Coleman guy came back, and he kidnapped Rebecca Frost.
Amy Jo Smyth – Why do I know that name?
Roxi – She's on TV.
{AJ snaps her fingers.} Amy Jo Smyth – That's right.
Roxi – He used this lock to block me in.
{Roxi hands the lock to AJ who starts looking at it under a bright light.} Amy Jo Smyth – This isn’t police issued, I tell you that.
Roxi – Well, that’s what I need to know, anything you see about it that can give me anything on how to find them both.
Amy Jo Smyth – I will science the shit out of this.
Roxi – I knew you would.
Amy Jo Smyth – Oh, actually, I was able to get his address since the last time you bugged me about him.
{AJ hands a manilla folder to Roxi.} Roxi – Oh, thanks AJ.
Amy Jo Symth – Start there, maybe you can find something there that might be of use.
Roxi – You're on top of things AJ.
Amy Jo Smyth – I know, I’ll probably end up saving your ass again soon.
Roxi – Yeah, probably.
{Roxi gives AJ a friendly hug before she departs and the scene fades.}

- Superman (Action Comics Vol 1 775)
Hello SCW.
It is a new year, and I did enjoy my time off, and Team Hero did finish the year with a victory over a very game Krystal Wolfe and Jessie Salco. The match was intense and I want to thank both of them here and now for what they did for not only Keira, but myself. We did prove that we are the best tag team in SCW history yet again, but it’s not like we had a cake walk or anything like that. It took a little bit to finally get all the glass out of my back, head and hair, and I felt every single one of those attacks. They gave us everything out there and that is all I have ever asked for in an opponent. And while that was nice, the vacation was a little nicer and I have had time to rest and recuperate before coming into the new year.
But I’m going to be honest here, 2021 was...not what I wanted in a year. Sure, Keira and I won best couple and we were nominated for a lot of awards, and that was all well and good. But really, it’s not what either of us really wanted. We wanted to end the year with championships and that just didn’t happen. And then, I got a little vocal about it and caused a big stir and everybody wanted to open their mouths and have an opinion on what I should or shouldn’t do. Which was a little insulting, especially when it came from people who have zero right to open their mouths. And then to top it all off, they not only ran their mouths, but when challenged to actually step into the ring with me, they wanted ZERO to do with that. They were out here talking a lot of noise and then wanted to retreat to the peanut gallery and hold their hands over their faces like I didn’t see or hear it. No, I hear a lot more than people think, I just choose not to comment on it. But then again, that’s the paradox isnt it? I’m not supposed to comment on these things. I’m not supposed to be sitting here in front of you while you bad mouth me and actually respond. Because THAT is apparently beneath me. I should be letting all of this go while people take free shots and try to undermine everything I’m trying to do. Or something. I’m not supposed to want nice things. I’m not supposed to want championships. I’m supposed to... I guess float along and rest of my laurels.
No thank you, I will strive to be better each and every single day.
Now, lost in that, was the last time I sat in the ring and voiced an opinion, because after only one other person was willing to wrestle me, another person came forward and said “Yes, I will wrestle you.” And it’s kinda weird that the only two people happen to be friends of mine. Well, I’m not sure anymore with Crystal, but I do know that Kat Jones in my friend, and she is the one who readily agreed to wrestle me at Inception.
I just want to take the time to say thank you to Kat for agreeing to wrestle me. It was a pretty short list and she very quickly rose to the top of it, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to wrestle Kat Jones and cross a name off my bucket list of dream opponents. Yes, I meant it when I said that this match is a dream match, that wasn’t me trying to add an extra hype to this. I have wanted to wrestle Kat Jones for a very long time, and it has only intensified as we have become better friends over the years. I have enjoyed our relationship and enjoyed our friendship and how it has grown. She and I both know that we have each other's back and we are there for each other. We both know that if we ever needed anything from the other, it happens, without hesitation. I love that about Kat. I love that Kat is always honest with me. I love that Kat will tell me what I need to hear, and not just what I want to hear. Kat is that kind of friend and I could not ask for a better one, and let me tell you, I have many great friends. And I am very proud of all my friends and what they do for me. Kat is a true friend and I love her to death for it. I am proud to call Kat Jones my friend.
And I was ever prouder when she signed on to come to SCW and wrestle. Because I had been trying to get her to come here for a least a year prior. I wanted her to come here and I wanted her to be able to become as great as she is everywhere else, in SCW. And I was overjoyed to know that she signed and I wished her the best of luck, but I already knew Kat was going to be great. I was here for it. I was excited to see it, and Kat Jones did not disappoint in her debut.
And now, I get to have a dream match, against Kat Jones, and I’m here for that too.
Make no mistake about it, for me, this a dream match. I have wanted this match for a long time, and it was even hard to hide the smile on my face when her music hit and she came down to the ring and she said that she would “Glady face me at Inception.” Gladly. And she said it with a smile on her face. It meant a lot to me, because that is the Kat I know and love. That is exactly what I was expecting to hear from her, but it was still a surreal moment for me. Kat Jones wants to wrestle me and she’s had exactly one match in SCW. She wants to go straight to the top. That is awesome and I simply cannot wait to step into the ring with Kat Jones and live out a dream in front of my eyes.
But, and there’s always a but, Kat also said that I should be wary, because my dream is going to become a nightmare.
And that, is where we differ in opinion. I mean, you don’t always agree with your friends, right? You’re allowed to disagree on things and not believe the same things all the time. Right? Don’t parent always ask that question of if your friend jumped off a bridge would you do it to? Right? You know that question. But Kat saying that while it’s something I want, is not something Kat can really do.
And I don’t mean Kat can’t ruin people’s days, she can do that without even trying. But this, this not a nightmare scenario for me. It can’t be a nightmare scenario, I am wrestling my friend, and in that ring at Inception we will tear the house down because we don’t need to hold back, our friendship is stronger than one match. So, at Inception, I will absolutely have a dream match, unless Kat shows up and doesn’t give me her all, and I know for a fact, that isn’t going to happen. So, yeah, there is no way that this turns into a nightmare for me. What? Will it be because Kat Jones is going to hit me? I’ve been hit before. Is it because she’s not going to hold back? I don’t want her to. I want Kat Jones not to treat me like a friend, I want for that bell to ring at Inception and she treats me like this is just another match and I am just the next opponent in her way.
Because that will tell me right then and there, that Kat Jones is not bothered by what goes on outside the ring, and that she is all business inside the ring. And that’s really all I want. Roxi Johnson vs. Kat Jones is a dream match just on paper. It’s a bucket list item for me and I am going to be proud of what we do at Inception and how we will steal the whole show in a lineup that is a virtual murderer’s row of great wrestling action. It is exactly what I want, and it’s playing out exactly how I expected it to. It’s not like I haven’t watched Kat, and I’m going into this match blind. Kat is for lack of a better term and no pun intended, a hell cat. She can be one of the most relentless, focused, driven human beings on the planet.
But, so can I.
I have no doubts that Kat Jones knows this already, that’s the fun part of this. She knows exactly what she’s doing and she’s making this choice because apparently, not a lot of other people are willing to. I guess I scared a lot of people off by having an opinion and voicing it. Because I don’t do those things normally. I have been able to amass the most wins, I have been able to amass multiple championships, and all the other accolades I have, by simply being me and not taking it to that level. But that does not mean I am incapable of doing so. People have mistaken my kindness for weakness and mistaken my passion for complaining. And then Kat Jones, my friend, stepped up to the plate.
And now, from everything she has studied and watched about me in preparation for this match? She will find out that it’s all very true, and I am very good. The tape is not lying if you watch anything on me in the ring. I’ve wrestled at the top of this company for nearly a decade. And I have been able to do that, because I am damn good at what I do.
So, at the end of the day, yes, I am excited and very happy to be wrestling my friend. I am excited to go out there and have a hell of a match with my friend and steal the show. And yes, I am excited because I know that my opponent is just as eager to make this happen as I am. This is a dream match, and nothing can change that.
But it is also a match I expect to win, because that’s what I’ve been doing for a long, long time. If Kat Jones agreed to fight me, then we’re going to fight. Once that bell rings, all bets are off and the friendship gives way to the business, and my business is getting better, and getting what I have been after since August of last year. A shot at the bombshell’s championship. And in order to do that, and bolster my chances at it, I have beat Kat Jones, so that’s what I am going to do.
I am not overlooking Kat; I know she’s great. And it is the perfect way for me to continue to show everyone in SCW that I am everything that I claim to be, and more. I have a long list of things I didn’t get done in 2021, that I plan on making come true in 2022. And Kat Jones, my friend is the first person I have to beat, there is no other way to go for me. Before the bell, and after the bell, we will be good friends, but in between, there will be fireworks, but I will show Kat that when I say that this is my house, I mean it. Kat Jones is amazing, and I will sing her praises all day.
But at Inception, she’s my opponent, and the one I will beat to start 2022.
